I bought a car a few months back and only recently discovered that it had been damaged and fixed up
I bought a car a few months back and only recently discovered that it had been damaged and fixed up. They didn't tell me about it when I bought it, and I didn't notice it during the inspection. I want my money back for the car and the loan.
I just bought a used Toyota Highlander from Serra Toyota, but they only gave us one set of keys
I just bought a used Toyota Highlander from Serra Toyota, but they only gave us one set of keys. My wife went to pick up the vehicle, and they didn't provide her with an extra set. I've tried reaching out to the salesmen, managers, and even the owner multiple times, but none of them have responded to my request for a second set of keys. It's frustrating not being able to get a hold of anyone to resolve this issue.
I preordered sum parts from Serra Toyota service store on November 3rd, 2022
I preordered sum parts from Serra Toyota service store on November 3rd, 2022. After 3 1/2 weeks, I asked for a refund. Turns out, the parts got put on someone else's car. The service manager, ***, called parts and service to put them back on my invoice so I could get my money back. They said they would send me a check in the mail. It's been another 3 weeks and still no check. I talked to Manager *** over a week ago, and he said he would check it out and call me back. But he never did. When I called this morning, I felt like they were just giving me the runaround. How can I get my money back?

The dealership's website got the prices of the vehicles all wrong
The dealership's website got the prices of the vehicles all wrong. I chatted with a salesman for more than a month and even sent pictures of the vehicle, including the price. I was willing to drive 50 miles just to see the vehicle in person. The salesman assured me that they could offer the "best price" at the store, just like the website claimed. However, when I arrived, the vehicle was listed for $42,470 online, but after they checked my credit, they handed me a paper with a price of $49,194. They straight-up lied to me! I even asked about the price before taking the vehicle for a spin. When I confronted the guy, he talked down to me and said I couldn't afford it. He insisted that I could only lease the vehicle. I clearly stated that I didn't want to lease, but he just shrugged and said, "Looks like you won't be getting a vehicle." I'm extremely unhappy with how they treated me and spoke to me.
I can't get my money from the GAP Protection plan
I can't get my money from the GAP Protection plan. They don't answer the phone or email. No voicemail. I've been trying since January. They say I need to talk to someone in Finance, but they never answer the phone. I sent an email and a salesperson called me. The salesperson said I have to talk to someone in finance, but they don't answer the phone. The people I talked to don't want to help me when they find out it's about money owed to me. They lied about the referral bonus. It never happened. They don't ask who you want to finance with, they just go with Southeast Toyota because they make more money that way. The finance guy told me that. I want my money, but I can't reach anyone in financing there.
I ain't got no complaints 'bout my Salesman at Serra Toyota
I ain't got no complaints 'bout my Salesman at Serra Toyota. I ain't gonna mention no names, but he done gone above and beyond to help my momma and me find a vehicle. He wants us to have a vehicle. Right now, we stuck with a vehicle in my sister's name (I'm first on the loan). It's a Volkswagen we bought from ***. But let's get back to the story. My complaint is they ain't got good companies to finance with. Serra Toyota done told me if I made my 10th payment on our Volkswagen, they could put us in a RAV4. The RAV4 was outta the question 'cause the payment was too dang high. So we got approved for a beautiful Red 21 Camry SE they showed us, which got our hopes up. But the payment was gonna be like $700 a month. I asked 'em if they'd take less and they couldn't justify the price. I really think I need a resolution here to get help with finding a vehicle to trade our Jetta for. The GM needs to listen and help his customers more.
I bought a Toyota Rav 4 in July
I bought a Toyota Rav 4 in July . Had a flat tire in December , first time it happened in this car. When the roadside assistance came, they asked for the wheel lock/key. I checked the car but couldn't find it. So the driver used another tool to remove the tire and told me to contact the dealership. I called and asked for the customer service manager because I wasn't sure who to talk to. They said the manager was in a meeting and sent me to voicemail. I called again and was told to wait until the call got disconnected. On the third call, they told me to have it towed to them and they would remove the tire for free. I declined and just asked about getting a key. The lady then said I would have to change the lug nuts because they only had a master key, and sometimes the previous owners don't leave the keys in the car. Why should I have to pay to change lug nuts on a car? I finally left a message but haven't received a response yet.
I bought a car from Serra Toyota, a 2018 Ford Fusion
I bought a car from Serra Toyota, a 2018 Ford Fusion. The radio didn't work and the check engine light came on. The bumper was also damaged when I bought it. The service manager said there was a recall on the radio, but when I took it to Ford, they said there were no recalls on the car. I got a warranty when I bought the car, but they denied my claim. They said the car was at Ford and they would put in a brand new engine. I had to use a rental car for 3 weeks, and they said it would take another 3-6 weeks to get the engine and it was on back order. The financing didn't go through for this car. I asked to go back to my original car, a 2009 Hyundai Genesis, but they didn't help me. Instead, they did a collateral swap and gave me a 2019 Certified Toyota Camry. Now I have a 7-year financing agreement instead of 3 years. They ran my credit multiple times.
I dropped my car off on 5/19 to get the brakes fixed at Serra Toyota
I dropped my car off on 5/19 to get the brakes fixed at Serra Toyota. The guy named Dexter T who works there told me that the Anti-Lock abs actuator they put in was the wrong one for my car. He said his mechanic was 100% sure about it. I told Dexter that the part was brand new and came from the Lexus Dealership. Then Dexter made me sign a contract saying they would fix my car completely with their own part for $3000, and they would give me back the wrong part. But then, I didn't hear anything from Dexter for a while. Eventually, I got the part back and guess what? It was still the wrong one.
So now, the head mechanic takes a look at my car and says that the actuator they put in was actually the right one, but I need two more parts to go with it. And the total price for everything will be $4240.70. I tried to get in touch with the service director Matt P and CRM Megan B several times starting from 5/26, but they didn't call me back until 6/1 when I finally emailed a complaint.
And you know what Matt tells me? He says I had to pay $2300 upfront for the parts before they could even start working on my car. Matt and Megan said it's company policy for customers to pay upfront, like 99.9% of the time.
It's now 6/12 and my car is still at Serra Toyota.
I bought my car in Feb 2021
I bought my car in Feb 2021. Serra Toyota was real helpful in getting me qualified and financed through an External Credit Union. But when I went to register my car at the DMV, the lady there told me I didn't have the right forms. I needed the Title Application Form. I've been calling, emailing, and leaving voicemails to every department I can find, trying to get this form. Nobody's helping me. Every time I talk to someone, they say they can't help and pass me to another department. They tell me to leave a voicemail and they'll call back. This has been going on for almost 10 months! I got 2 traffic tickets because of this and now I gotta go to court on 12/2. I gotta register my car by then or I'll get another ticket. I'm really unhappy with the customer support I've been getting for almost a year. I'm writing this to get the attention of the managers and get this sorted out.
I bought a 2016 Ford Escape from Serra Toyota on 12/09
I bought a 2016 Ford Escape from Serra Toyota on 12/09. Started having problems with it around 12/16. The salesman, ***, told me to contact him directly if I had any issues. I did, but couldn't reach him for 2 1/2 weeks because of his family problems. Finally got in touch with him and took the car in on 1/17/2022. The vehicle was pulling to the right at high speed, had a vibration, squeaking sound, and was slow to start. Serra Toyota replaced the battery, did a four-wheel alignment, rotated and balanced the tires, and replaced the battery. On 04/05/2022, I took the vehicle back to Serra Toyota because it was shifting hard when putting it in gear, the check engine light was on, and it had trouble accelerating. They sent the vehicle to *** in *** Alabama. They found an open in the transmission connector (internal), a coolant hose leak to the trans cooler, replaced the spark plug, and replaced the ignition coil. Today, on 5/15/2022, the same problems occurred when I was leaving church. The car salesman told me that an inspection had been done before the sale, but there's no way that could be true with problems of this magnitude. I've been patient and inconvenienced because they sold me a vehicle that doesn't work properly. I'm asking for any assistance that can be given.
I bought a car from Serra Toyota on March 8th, and I wanted to cancel the contract because they said the car just needed servicing, but I still
I bought a car from Serra Toyota on March 8th, and I wanted to cancel the contract because they said the car just needed servicing, but I still haven't received it. On March 8th, I went to Serra Toyota's used car lot to check out some cars. I met with Torrey M., and he sold me a 2015 Toyota Camry with the VIN number xx. His manager, Derrick M., also came to finalize the deal. They never mentioned that the car needed servicing for this long. They promised that I would get the car on the same day. I put $xx down on the car with the financial manager, Smitty.
The next day, I tried to cancel the contract after thinking about it, but they told me that the contract was already complete and that the financing company had already sent them the money for the car. The financing company is Credit Acceptance Company. They told me that there is no cooling off period in Alabama. I tried again the following day to cancel the contract, but they told me the same thing. Keep in mind that I still don't have the car in my possession. So today, I'm filing this complaint because when I spoke to the finance company, they informed me that they have paperwork stating that the car will be in service for a week, which was never disclosed to me.
All I want is my down payment back and the contract to be voided since I don't have the car. The car has 75,204 miles on it, and according to the Kelly Blue Book, its value ranges from $11,000 to $14,000. However, I paid $xxxx for it.
We bought a 2017 Kia Optima from Serra Toyota on March 28, 2022
We bought a 2017 Kia Optima from Serra Toyota on March 28, 2022. When we bought it, they told us there was a problem with the front of the car and that we would need to bring it back because they didn't have the part. The salesperson said they could have sold it without telling us, but they did. I took the car back on April 15 and they said they put the part on. On May 11, I took it back again because there was no oil when I checked it. They told me that the car is known for using a lot of oil. I had been experiencing shaking while driving, so I went to *** on June 24. They said the problem was with the suspension/axle. When I went back to Serra Toyota, they said *** was wrong and told me to go somewhere else. I went to Riverchase Kia on July 8 and they also said it was the axle. They made notes of the issues and told me to file a complaint and go back to Toyota. Toyota got a copy of the papers and after having the car for over an hour, they said everything was fine but still replaced the axle. They said they are not certified in Kia and told me to go to Kia for a proper diagnosis. I did, and Kia said that the things Toyota said were fine were actually not. Serra *** Kia contacted Toyota and asked them to cover the repairs, but they said no and that it's my responsibility. I just want my car to be fixed correctly for everything Toyota said was fine but actually isn't. Toyota signed off on the vehicle before selling it on March 28 and again on July 14, but Serra Kia *** proved them wrong. I talked to the service managers at both Kia and Toyota, and I don't think it's fair for me to pay for Toyota's mistakes.
This place is a joke
This place is a joke. I went there and dealt with someone who had me waiting for 4 hours before letting me test drive the vehicle I wanted to buy. When I asked about any accidents, he said he didn't think so and never gave me the car fax. After the test drive, I waited another 2 hours for the numbers. When I got frustrated, they brought someone else into the deal. We agreed on a deal, but then I had to wait another 2 hours for the finance person to call me. I was so tired that I didn't notice the auto check showing the Tahoe had a wreck. I ended up paying full price for a wrecked 2015 Tahoe! When I found out, I called for my paperwork, but they gave me the run around for 5 days and I still haven't gotten it. I went back to trade the Tahoe, but they only offered me $23,500 after I just bought it for $33,500! They gave me the run around for 3 hours and only after calling for 4 more days did I finally get in touch with the director of the used car lot. The used car lot is a joke, a scam, and a waste of time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a used vehicle. They exhaust you with waiting and push you to use their financing, charging $2k for outside financing!
Was promised a specific car for under a specific price
Was promised a specific car for under a specific price. Was told to submit a credit app and come to dealership. Promise was not honored. I had already come to an agreement with another dealer on a hybrid RAV4 XLE, when I got a second text from a Serra sales-reps asking "if there was anything I can do to just get you in the door today?" I said yes, get me a RAV4 XLE for $29k. Hey answered "okay great, just fill out a finding app." I did, then made a time to come in - which required a 45 minute drive in rush hour traffic. From the moment I arrived I knew I had been duped. The first thing he wanted to do is talk me out of the hybrid. Then he wanted to talk about my trade-in. It was like pulling teeth to talk about the actual car I wanted - but he promised he had 3 on the lot. When I pressed he offered to go get one - and brought an XSE instead of the car I asked for. When I told him I wanted to talk numbers, he left me sitting for another 10 minutes before he and his manager got around to talking with me. Only then was I shown the magic invoice with $37k printed on it - the MSRP for the XSE is $35k. When I scoffed, I was treated like a fool and told there was no way to even touch the car I wanted for under $35k - the MSRP on the XLE is $29k. I told them that their competitor did, without hassle, haggle, or haranguing. I then said good day and left. In all, it isn't event the waste of my time, it's that Serra Toyota had me submit a credit app under false pretenses.
