HI,
I recently hired a car for Alghero Airport. And I was waiting for the deposit for more than 2 weeks and finally when I received it, 100euros were missing. The customer service said that we return the car later than expected.
This was not true at all. We were there on time but cause no one explain us where to return it. We return it in the same location from where we picked it up. And there was there employees from sbc tin the location where we return the car and no one said anything.
At the airport counter the lady said it's ok if you still have time before your flight, could you please return it to this park (another location in the airport) and she explained us where to return the car on the airport map in a piece of paper.
I've already paid 140 pounds for the rent that they did not accept cause they did not have the right car model that i booked i paid to upgrade 225 euros more + 300 euros in deposit (cause i used my debit card, as my first booking was not accepted) and finally they took 100 euros more from my deposit.
No final invoice, no proof, nothing

Hello, l rented a car from 12/9 until 15/9 but when l returned it was 04:00 a.m. so nobody was there to explain the problem and l dropped the key into the box. My reservation reference number is [protected] and the plate number FN556DJ. When l took the car it was 7, 5/8 (fuel) and l drove from the airport to my hotel and the same the day l returned it back, so around 60km total! I made it full a few kilometres before the airport but the fuel indicator shows me again 7, 5/8! Everything was perfect until the time that l saw that you charged me around 40€ for this!
In the gas station was the automatic machine and the car was full with 6, 50€. Here you can see the photo of my receipt! Please check the problem of the car and take care about the money that you charged me...

We returned car, received the deposit.But 08.26 the card was charged by 61eur. I do understand that maybe for a reason, but it is very unprofessional not to inform the customer for what. Didn't get any email or call.

On Aug, 17, 2019 I made a deposit on a care rental of $166.78 thru my MasterCard ending with #1452. This was from a quote of $440.16 Can including upgraded protection. The reservation #is [protected] and the contract signed was for 464.81 Euros of which I was debited on the 13th of Sept, 2019 thru my MasterCard. What I want is the return of my deposit of August 17, 2019 in the amount of $166.78.
I had no further charges and the return of the vehicle was declared with no issues.
On Aug 16, 2019 I was charged from my Visa Infinite Card ending with #3618, the amount of 168.14 for a rental car from Cicily by Car reservation ref.#[protected].
On Sept 11, 2019 the Visa card was charged the full rate of $708.88 canadian, therefore the inital deposit was not credited back, so I am requesting the return of the intial deposit of $168.14.

Hi I have rented a car from Rome Airport via Economycarrentals.com booking voucher Number EC43283C and Sicily by car Confirmation Number [protected] from 28/6/2019 to 7/7/2018. I have been charged again and again similar amounts on my credit card on 29/7/2018 and on 6 Sep 2019 by Autonoleggio Auto Europa for Euro 65 approx at my same credit card visa ending 9285. Without intimating for reason. Please explain a valid reason to charge the similar amounts otherwise I reserve the right for appropriate action.

We reserved well in advance our car through EasyRentCars, we paid the full insurance in advance. At the moment of the car pick-up the person at Palermo Downtown office, Mr Maurizio, told us that our card is not a credit card and we cannot pick up the car. Please note that in France 90% of the cards are debit cards but they are not rechargeable cards, they are used as any credit cards for any need and the debit of the money is immediate. They are directly connected to the bank account and they give the same guarantees of a credit card. Maurizio didn't try to understand the situation and was very impolite towards us and our difficult situation. He said that the only option to have the car is to pay extra 245€ directly at the counter for the full insurance with Sicily by Car (although we already paid it with EasyRentCars!) plus 300€ deposit (which were reimbursed 10 days after returning the car and not max 6 as stated!)
We had to pay the extra insurance and find ourselves in difficult financial situation, with a very unpleasant service since Maurizio was not treating us as customers should be treated! He even said that he would give us the car only if we didn't leave any complaint!
We travel often and regularly rent cars but it's the first time ever that we face such a horrible customer experience. The reputation of your agency is at risk with such people working for you.
Therefore we ask a refund for the unjustified extra charge of the full insurance and for the very negative customer experience.

This is to report an issue concerning the car rental from Sicily by car during our stay in Rome.
Kindly note that the hold amount on my debit card as insurance hasn't been refunded yet although we were told that it will be refunded 2 days after the rental. Description of events:
During pick up at Tirana airport we decided to upgrade the class of the car with extra charge, based on the recommendation of the sales representative. We were also offered insurance which we initially agreed to. Contract has been signed.
After verifying the details of initial booking we came back to the office immediately informing that we should not have been offered an insurance - since we already purchased a full cover - and that we therefore would like to resign from the doubled service.
Our request had been denied by the sales representative handling the case. We were also denied the right to speak to his supervisor.
We believe we were a subject to dishonest sales approach and kindly ask you to refund the insurance surcharge filed by the Tirana Airport Representative on the 9th of August.
We'd like to base our complaint on the following arguments:
- lack of transparent communication in regards to the service - we were not informed that this is an extra insurance nor given explanation on why we would need additional cover to already purchased one
- lack of responsibility for bookings via your acknowledged partner network - we were informed that the Tirana office received booking for the car - but the office did not receive information about insurance placed on the car that the office is renting
- our very immediate reaction (we came back to ask for refund before the car even left the premises of Sicily By Car)
- lack of supportive and proactive approach of Tirana Airport Sicily By Car staff member that would show willingness to help, give options or offer solutions to handle our case

It's 2hours we are queuing here at Olbia to get our car and the queue it's possibly 2hr longer! We are a family with 2 small kids and the queue it's still very long - this is unacceptable, a treatment reserved to animals. Only 3 people are serving hundreds of customers; if this was the situation you should have at least warned us prior the booking.

I rented a car in Rome and I returned it in Florence (July/31 to Aug/5)
The car was new however the A/C was not working at all! I had a horrible time driving in the Hot European Summer time in a car with no A/C, I had to attend to social events and I arrived a mess to those places because of Sicily by car!
I also rented a Wi-Fi box which was in horrible conditions, the charger was broken! when the battery died I was in the middle of Tuscany with no connection to use the GPS on my phone.
I paid a lot of money to have a car with A/C and WI-FI and I did not have that!
I need my money back once I did not have what I needed during my trip
Please let me know what Sicily by car wants to do to regain my respect

Buonasera! Il 30/6 u.s. restituivo a Saranda (Albania) una vs. autovettura che avevo noleggiato a Tirana il 26/6 per il tramite di Rentalcars (v.all.). Con mia estrema sorpresa mi veniva addebitato l'importo di EUR 168.00 per un minuscolo graffio, quasi invisibile (vedi foto all.), che non sono nemmeno sicuro di aver procurato, trattandosi appunto di un segnino difficilmente rilevabile al momento del ritiro della vettura. Pagavo comunque (v.all.) e nel contempo sottoponevo la mia contestazione (v.all.), alla quale non ho finora ricevuto nessun riscontro.
La sproporzione tra l'importo addebitatomi e l'esiguità del danno (letteralmente riparabile con un trattino di pittura da qualsiasi carrozziere) mi fa dire che - in mancanza di un Vostro positivo intervento a cancellazione dell'addebito - mi vedrò costretto a non utilizzare più per il futuro la Vs. compagnia. La cosa mi dispiace, perché ho avuto parecchie occasioni nel passato di servirmi dei vs. servizi di autonoleggio, che ho sempre apprezzato, e mi chiedo se per una società come la vostra valga davvero la pena di perdere un affezionato cliente per una misera speculazione di 168 EUR. A voi la decisione!

horrendous service
We had pre booked a car to hire at 12noon on 28th July 2019.
We arrived to collect our car at 12noon. My husband took a ticket and waited. His ticket was number 14 and number 76 was currently being served.
My husband went inside whilst I waited outside with our 11month old baby. After a short while we went inside. The place was so busy there wasn't anywhere to sit or wait out of the way with a pushchair and suitcases.
My husband queries about his ticket number and was told that it had to go to 100 and then it would start again from 0.
During the first hour which we were waiting I enquired as to whether the other hire companies had a baby seat and we could hire with them. Unfortunately, your website was unclear about whether or not we could cancel our car as we had waited a ridiculous amount of time!
After an hour and 15 minutes my husband complained that we had waited so long and we had a baby. The man said ‘oh you should have said' came to check he had a baby (although he had been holding her earlier) and then was taken to the front of the queue.
Once he was being seen to this appeared to be a long process repeating information that had already been supplied! (Please note that at this point the tickets had only reached 96, if we hadn't of complained it would have been at least another 2 hour wait - which is ridiculous, why would I hire a car for a particular time if I wanted to wait another 4 hours)
Eventually we were given the keys and told to collect the car seat on the way. Once I got the car seat, it was completely inappropriate. It was a seat for a much older child which did not have a harness seatbelt. I then had to carry my child back to the office and they saw my daughter and then changed the seat.
All in all, it was 2pm before we managed to leave. This service is absolutely diabolical, I have never known anything quite like it.
The staff did not appear concerned at any point about the wait, nor were they apologetic.
This really put a downer on the start of our holiday and it is not acceptable in anyway. I want a full refund for the price of the hire of the car and the car seat. I will most certainly never be using your company again, and I will be making sure that others don't either.
I will escalate this further if needed.

withdrawal from account for lousy service
When in Padua we drove into a wrong street on Sept 22 2019 which caused a penalty.
Four months later SbC notified us with a cryptic e-mail to which something in Italian was attached. We concluded it was a fine for 42 euro's, SbC withdrew 61 euro's from our account and we thought they had paid the fine and added 19 euro's administration cost. Two months later however, we got a notification from Padua police that we had to pay 81 euro's. Because we had not reacted on their first notice, they had almost doubled the penalty. We paid immediately, flabbergasted by the fact that SbC had withdrawn 61 euro's for a lousy service which cost us an extra 40 euros.
We'll be happy to send the relevant information in case a complaints officer from SbC shows serious interest.
This just happend to us, but we don't know where we got the ticket. Did you know or you found out about the ticket when SBC charge you the 61 EUR? please help me out. I just dispute the charge and I am super mad because are reservation was throug Booking.com so they charge us $299 and SBC charge us that plus the extras I am still fighting for those thx for posted it

1 Collected car 17/02/19 SbC Milan Malpensa. Drove okay to Courmayeur
2 Fault appears on 18/02. Fault is with acceleration/braking/throttle. The car cannot be reliably used. Even moving it from hotel car park to the hotel garage took 30 minutes. We could not risk using the car in case it could not be restarted after it was parked.
3 During the week we tried many times to speak to SbC Milan Malpensa. Also the Hotel owner tried for us. The phone was never answered. Same with SbC central number.
Spoke to Roadside Assistance (twice) but they only offered trip to garage, but we did not know if that meant we would get vehicle back in time to get flight on 24/2.
Spoke to SBC in Turin but they said we would need to drive there for a replacement which was too far to go.
We used buses and taxi during the week. We were also offered hotel owner's car but did not use it in case of insurance.
4 Car was due to be returned 24/02 before early flight. We decided to return car on 23/2 during day in case it was faulty again and needed roadside assistance (did not want to miss flight on 24/2). Had to cut short holiday and book Hilton in Milan Malpensa.
5 After return SbC confirmed there was a fault with the car which was fixed under warranty.
6 On requesting refund for the actual car (which we could not use during the week) or in alternative, the hotel accommodation on 23/2 (which was needed as the car was unreliable) Sbc say:
"You used the rental car for six days and we charged additional driver for six days. So no refund is due. We confirm that we won't refund the hotel expenses. Only taxi cost will be refund and we need your bank details in order to credit back the related amount as soon as possible.
7 But this is unreasonable. We could not risk using the car during the week. Also SbC Milan could not be contacted at all so we believed we needed to return car to SbC Milan Malpensa to ensure we were not charged for abandoning car in Courmayeur. SbC (Turin) never told us we could leave the car and get a taxi, otherwise we would certainly have done that.
8 In the emails since then SbC have clearly been asked twice what the fault with the car was. They refuse to tell us. They were asked what form of appeal we had regarding their refusal to reimburse anything. They refused to tell us.
9 On 23/3/2019 [1 month after drop off] we received a further invoice for allegedly 23 litres of extra fuel and extra driver and other items…since it was refuelled on the return to Milan this would appear to include the fuel used for getting to the garage to fix the fault.

When I rented car on line I asked for an economy, small car. When I got to the desk the agent said they had no small cars. I was not happy, I was renting for one month. I should have refused the car. Live and learn. The streets are so narrow in Italian towns, a large car s very difficult. Indeed up scratching a small amount on rightearside trying to turn into a driveway with posts on both sided. When I returned it of course they wrote it up. When I got the invoice I was shocked! They were asking for 1, 400, 00 euros for a scratch on one side and a tiny scratch on the plastic rim! I was so angry because Italian roads are very small. But the real issues was that I know they will never get that fixed and they were charging me a crazy amount of money for the damage!

I rent a Peugeot 308 on 4/1/19 from Milano Linate airport and I return it on 12/1/19 on Torino Caselle airport, on the name Cnobloch Gerhard.
The registration plate is FN712TP, rental agreement [protected].
On my way to the airport the car had a flat tyre, we changed the tyre with the spare one, but due to this incident we arrived very very late at the airport and we didn't have time to refuel the car.
I explained this to the lady at the desk and she told me there is no problem, the full tank will be charged on my credit card.
The Sicily by Car employee ask me for the car key to check the car, he left in the parking place and when he came back he told me that everything is ok, so I signed the paper and I left.
In 15 min I receive an SMS from the bank that you charged me 400 Euro!
When I took a look on the paper I saw that there is a small "X" at the section "new damage".
This is not correct - the car is 100% ok, I drove it til Val Thorens and back and 7 days the car stood in the garage of the hotel. I took a look at the car when I arrived in Torino Caselle and there were no scratches on the car, it was everything ok - exactly what also the Sicily by Car guy was confirmed me after he went in the parking place to check.
If the car has damages I would like to see pictures, because it is 100% not true.
Please return the 400 euro back to my account and charge only the diesel, as we discussed together at the reception desk.

My name is Pedro Ferraz.
I rented a car from Sicily By Car from the 15/12 to the 18/12, from Ciampino Airport, in Rome.
I had originally rented a car from Fiumicino.
When I went to Ciampino, the person at the desk told me that he could not change the reservation to this office.
I found that very strange, since it wasn't the first time this had happened.
Actually, a few days after I returned the car, I checked the reviews online, and in the past you did change reservations for other people.
However that person at the desk, simply didn't want to make the effort.
Not very good customer service.
So, I was forced to make a new rental agreement for the 15/12 to the 18/12.
The number of that rental agreement is 2581766.
The price was €188, 04 for a Ford Fiesta.
Originally I was supposed to pay around €120 for Volkswagen Golf.
The price included full insurance and a young driver's fee since I am 20 years old.
There was also a €200 deposit left on my credit card.
A few days after I returned the car, I checked my bank statement to see if deposit had been released.
That is when I noticed that I had been charged an additional €62, 79 on that same credit card.
It has been almost a month since this has happened.
I have sent at least 10 emails, and called at least 20 times and I finally got an email back on the 31/12.
The local office in Rome told me I had to send an email to Customer Service at the main offices.
I have now sent numerous emails, and no reply
To be honest, I am quite pissed off with the actions of this company.
I want to make a formal complaint!
I want my my money back!

I rented a car on 23.10.2018 from sky scanner (invoice nr bg-b21255754) I paid 93, 5 (36 + 57, 50) euro (ıncluding full coverage) when I went to sicilyby car desk at the bari airport they charged " 133, 46 euro (they said full coverage is not valid in bari so, they did again)
As a result I paid twice full coverage, I am not satisfied with this situation.
I want to pay back money I paid more (39, 96.-euro)

We received a bill from Sicilyby Car for Euro 1, 103.25 in damages . We dispute these charges in full on the grounds that the vehicle was damaged before we received it.
As outlined in our statement, the driver had extensive experience driving manual vehicles . On vehicle pick-up he expressed concerns to SicilybyCar staff that the clutch was not engaging properly. This was before even leaving the parking garage. The staff promptly dismissed these concerns and mocked the customer. All three passengers can attest to the driver expressing these concerns at that time.
On departing the parking garage at Fiumicino Airport, the vehicle was driven exclusively on highways en route to Florence. Approximately 200 km into the trip there was a traffic slowdown on a hill. Once traffic moved the driver noted that, as had been the case at the Fiumicino Airport parking garage, the 2nd gear would not engage properly. We were actually left in an extremely dangerous situation by this defect while attempting to merge into highspeed traffic. Therefore, we shortly pulled over and called for roadside assistance. (have to pay for taxi from own packet)
Any further damage which the driver may have caused was a direct results of this pre-existing damage and the extremely dangerous situation to which it exposed us.
