Singapore Post (SingPost) documents package sent to wrong country

I recently sent a package of documents to Brisbane, Australia. Despite the address being clearly printed, Singpost has somehow decided the package should go to Great Britain. I phone and chatted with several support staff, who of course are in India and not in Singapore. I can see from the tracking number that my package arrived safely in Great Britain and for almost a week has been stuck at the sorting centre there.

I want to find out what is happening with it, and how to get it sent to the correct address. So far the customer service has been politely inadequate. The documents are time sensitive and I need to get them correctly redirected. Telling me I will be contacted 15, 45, and 60 days after the ticket has been raised is not helpful. I need some real action.

Singapore Post (SingPost) personal data protection act - presumption

On 1st Aug 2018 I made a call to discuss my VPost shipment. +[protected]
During the call automated options advise that continuing with the call grants individuals' consent to the collection of data. There is no option to continue the call without consent, in other words consumers are FORCED into consent.

Section 14(1) of the PDPA states how an individual gives consent under the PDPA
As good practice, an organisation should obtain consent that is in writing or recorded in a manner that is accessible for future reference, for example, if the organisation is required to prove that it had obtained consent.

The PDP Commission recommends that organisations obtain consent from an individual through a positive action of the individual to consent to the collection, use and disclosure of his personal data for the stated purposes. If an organisation intends to adopt the opt out approach in seeking consent, the organisation should consider the risks that it may not have satisfied the Notification Obligation and Consent Obligation.

I recognise that the individual here has the option to end the call, however I am concerned here that I am unable to perform transactions via telephone with SingPost without having agreed to give consent, therefore to use the telephone services to contact SingPost I am forced to agree. This is an unfair practice and discriminates agsint those consumers who do not give consent.

Accordingly I request that this be investigated and that consumers are given a choice with respect to the PDPA

Kind regards

Ian Richards

Singapore Post (SingPost) my mail have not reach me

The sender sent out the parcel on 10th of june but after about 3 weeks, it has not reach me. I contacted the sender and she went down to singpost to check on 18th of July. They told her that they have relocated the parcel and have sent it out again but it has been about a week and it hasn't reach me.
The sender is from Singapore not overseas so it shouldn't take so long.

Singapore Post (SingPost) poor service

Dear Singpose, I'm yet to received the item that I ordered on line. However received a letter from Singpost asking me to collect the item during working hours. On the said delivery day/date I ask my family to standby at home and be alert for any delivery but it was to no avail. I do not have the luxury of to collect the during office hour but manage to get one of my family members to collect the item after only a week later, however we received a bad news from Singpost saying that they had return back to seller.

This's not the first time I had accounted a bad service from Singpost, it seem that your service is getting bad to worst. The reason that you to help us on the delivery is because we d not have the to do so. Basically you are damaging the image of Singapore with kind of service that you provided.

Singapore Post (SingPost) redirection of mail

Dear Sir/Madam,
In late December 2017, we submitted the redirection of mail (Your Ref: 62/0001/B8D & 53/0003/B8D). A week ago, my colleague, Joey Lai called SingPost (@1605) to check why we are still receiving mails at 29 Tai Seng Street under Kaba Security Pte Ltd.
This morning, one of your officer called me (as Joey had given them my mobile no. 9111 9176), after referring to our application form, it was clearly stated for both Companies under "Dorma Far East Pte Ltd" located at 31 Gul Lane, as well as Kaba Security located at 29 Tai Seng Street for all the mails to be redirected to our new location (since our move on 13 January 2018). Just last week, one of our customers had overlooked our move and sent out an important letter to us to 29 Tai Seng Street but until today, we still have not received the letter. Also, for your info, we are still receiving letters at 29 Tai Seng Street under Kaba Security, having paid for our redirection of mail service for 6 months, and recently extended to 13 August 2018, please refer to your reference letter dated 30 May and 5 June 2018.

We would appreciate your kind attention to look into the efficiency of your redirection of mail service.

Please feel free to contact me at [protected] (DID) or 9111 9176 (mobile).

Regards
Priscillia Soon, PA to Senior VP/MD

Singapore Post (SingPost) speed post registered

I sent an article on 19th of June using singpost speedpost registered item and they initially claimed it to reach in 3 to 6 working days. Today is 2nd of July and the item has not reached the destination yet. They charged me 127 SGD for this hassle. I didnt mind paying but the service is just disgusting and not satisfactory at all. Even before this they had a similar issues with regular item and that took 6 weeks. Hence I opted for faster service. But this is equally disappointing. ER400718398SG

Singapore Post (SingPost) 3 registered parcels - no tracking - no idea if received

I sent three parcels registered - one to myanmar, two to canada - and after 5 weeks, there is no update. Why pay extra for registration? Poor service!

Rc700346641sg - no update since it was "dispatched june 2 overseas"
Rc700346672sg - no update since it was "dispatched june 2 overseas"
Rc704702808sg no update since june 1 "reached destination country"

Singpost must have a reciprocal agreement with these countries if singpost is offering "registered mail". But there are no updates and the customer doesn't know where the parcel is.

Singpost should insist the countries comply with registered mail - i.e. Update the status

If singpost knows these countries don't update the registered tracking, there is no point offering that service - tell the customer you can sent it registered but it will just disappear and you cannot track it.

I can't believe I paid all the postage plus registration - and the all three parcels seem lost.

Singpost cannot just take the money for registration and not tell the customer there is a good chance the parcel will be lost as you cannot track it. It is singpost's responsibility to bring this shocking lack of tracking up with canada and myanmar.

Singapore Post (SingPost) recollection of parcel

Had a small parcel sent from China using expedited shipping whereby i paid $10 for expedited shipping. Somehow item was rejected when it reached Singpost and it was due to be sent back to China again. There was no notifications at all and i had to use the tracking number provided by the seller to self-track.

Contacted Singpost webchat service who informed i had to pay an additonal $21.40 service charge for Singpost to halt the sending back of parcel to China. Once package retrieved, i need to head down to the Singpost outlet near Paya Lebar mrt to self collect. Basically i had to pay more and also need to head down personally to retrieve the parcel. Checked with my seller and seems he missed out writing the block number, however the postal code was thr and just because of this, all this trouble arose.

Now, i have just made a trip to the Singpost outlet and reached at 2.05pm on 29th June, to my pleasant surprise, the door was closed. At 2 freaking PM. What i received in the email sent to me

'We would like to inform you that your article LZ453009149CN has been successfully retrieved, and the article is now ready for collection at General Post Office from 27 June 2018 for 10 working days.

Please refer the timing and the address of General Post Office:

Address: 10 Eunos Road 8, #01-123/124/125, SingPost Centre, Singapore 408600

Timings: Monday to Sunday/Holiday : 10:30 - 20:00

We would request you to carry your NRIC or passport at the time of collection and an admin fee of S$21.40 will be collected from you at the time of collection.'

Yet here I am, paying additional $ and also wasting my time for 1h trip down to paya lebar, and what the 1605 customer service told me was 'due to some events, office closing at 2pm'. Apparently, even if i had arrived 2.05pm, no exceptions could be made and there was also no line to connect to this particular outlet for further assistance. Although i understand the cso might have limited options to help, but its absurb that there was no line to even contact the Singpost outlet.

I paid $10 for expedited shipping from China via airplane to my home. In the end what i got was having the parcel undelivered and almost sent back to China, had to pay an additonal $21.40 for 'retrieval fees' for something that is within my own country, had my 2h wasted (for the full round trip) for misinformation sent to me when i headed down before 8pm as per the email sent to me.

I have never sent a letter or parcel myself using Singpost. Only have been on the receiving end so far. But from this single experience, i can see how lacking Singpost services are by charging exorbitant fees for minor services and also not even having a comprehensive internal communications system in place to assist customer.

I am truly disappointed by this whole experience.

Singapore Post (SingPost) wrongly delivered letters getting too frequent

We stay at Hougang St 52 Blk 698A-E vicinity. Now monthly we would receive on average a wrongly delivered letter in our mailbox. Just last week our next door neighbour's letter was wrongly slotted into ours. Today we collected a letter addressed to the neighbour staying one floor below. Really we don't expect zero error delivery, but the wrong frequency is worrying. If our one unit of household faces such frequency, it can be projected how it would multiply for all units. Also, SingPost is not an organization that respond to feedback. We have written in on its 'Contact Us' but no one at SingPost ever replies.

Singapore Post (SingPost) smartpac

I'm writing in to complain about the service that I choose smartpac for my mailing options is because in case I'm not home the parcel will be put in the letter box. But I was issued a notice to collect my items in the post office. This is not the first time that I need to purposely arrange to pick up my item in the post office. Was the staff not being TRAINED? I'm really disappointed with this kind of service. Can you kindly explain.

Singapore Post (SingPost) delivery notification

Gotta work on your [censored] singpost, you have tons of employees leavings notes for our postage at our doorstep when they did not even bother to knock on the door. Not really a responsible company if you can't even handle such trivial things, you are constantly wasting people time to collect item at your post office for small things. I don't see how your other following clients will continue to work with you in the near future compared to your competitors, this is not the first time i've experienced this. Your delivery workers don't even bother knocking the door, or worse still, leaving the note "we attempted delivery but were unable to reach you" even when the door is open. Why can't they just do a small knocking? Please work on this with your workers asap

Singapore Post (SingPost) irresponsible, unacceptable & appalling postal service - packages left at my doorstep without my knowledge

I'm writing to complain about the irresponsible, unacceptable and appalling postal service provided by SingPost on 2 occasions. On 23 May 2018 (3 packages) & 9 June 2018 (1 package), the packages were left at my doorstep without my knowledge. I was home on these days and no one knocked on my closed door or called out 'Postman'. I only saw the packages on the ground when I opened my door to go out to buy my meals. This irresponsible way of delivery left me very upset and horrified. Anyone could have just picked up my expensive packages and left, and I'll never see them again. I have another delivery next week (12 June onwards) and I dread the same would happen. I paid for the packages to be delivered to me and not to leave them at my doorsteps for 'finders keepers'. I also never authorized SingPost to leave the packages at my doorsteps. As a consumer, I have got the right to demand an explanation from SingPost. I'd also like to know if SingPost would bear the responsibility of compensating me should my package go missing from my doorstep because of this irresponsible way of delivery. These are the tracking numbers of my 4 packages 9400111898489897102940, [protected], [protected] and [protected]. I can provide further information if necessary. Please let me know.
