Mixed Feelings About Society6
As someone deeply connected to the world of art and creativity, I have mixed feelings about Society6. While the platform offers a wide range of products showcasing unique artwork, the recent changes in their policies have left many artists feeling undervalued and exploited. The introduction of monthly fees for artists, coupled with a significant reduction in earnings, has caused a decline in both sales and artist satisfaction. Society6's decision to prioritize profit over supporting the creative community has led to a sense of disillusionment among many talented individuals. As a potential customer, it's essential to consider the impact of these changes on the artists behind the products you admire. While Society6 may still offer visually appealing items, the ethical concerns raised by their treatment of artists cannot be ignored.
5 Star Service. With a smile!
I was absolutely stumped with an issue I was having with the Post & Sell section of Society6, and after trying everything I could think of to no luck, I had to give in to the ticket section of the site. Having signed up for many online games and sites, I've had my fair share of technical problems and fair share of BAD service. I've come to expect this nowadays and was hesitant to even submit a ticket for my issue because of this.
However, I was PLEASANTLY surprised when I not only got a response within 12 hours, but a very friendly and personal response from a great representative by the name of Jeffrey.
Jeffrey maintained a level of professionalism while also coming off as a friend, someone who was more than happy and more than willing to fix my problem.
My issue was something that the Development Team and Support Team had never seen, and instead of giving me the usual "We're not sure but we'll get to it." that most companies will respond with, Jeffrey got the Development Team to get to working on this issue as soon as they were available, as it was 6:00 AM when they responded. The Development Team hadn't even come into work by that time, and so I became high priority, and that is something that I value greatly in a company.

I was thoroughly impressed with the incredibly quick response, friendly attitude, and quick fix to my problem. Society6 treats you like you matter.
Flawless Experience
I ordered two tri-blend t-shirts from Society6 on Saturday night (April 25th). I live on the east coast and the order arrived at DHL in California on Tuesday (April 28th), which is when Society6 began tracking it via my order page. DHL shipped the package out the next day and it got tendered to the USPS on the east coast on Friday (May 1st), which is when I was provided with a USPS tracking number via my order page. The package got to my local post office Saturday morning (May 2nd) and I just got it this afternoon.
The shirts fit and feel great. I'm a 5'8" male and a size M hangs about 2 inches or so below my waist and the sleeves and neck fit well. The tri-blend material is also very soft but at the same time lightweight and breathable which is what I was looking for to combat the hot summers.
The quality of the printing is as good as I imagine you can get on this type of material. It looks perfectly fine as you can see from the pictures I will provide. I imagine the colors might be a bit more bold on the all cotton shirt but as I said I was interested in the tri-blend and I'm definitely satisfied with how they look.
Society6 also put a little set of stickers in my package with a thank you note on the back and a code to get free shipping on my next order. That's pretty awesome. I will definitely be shopping with them again seeing as I was very satisfied with my order. I have also begun recommending them to my friends and family. Thanks again Society6!

Ordering from Society 6 was a breeze!
Ordering from Society 6 was a breeze! I was leery given the mixed reviews. I had ZERO issues. I ordered an iPhone 6 case and a screen-printed tank top on 12/14. I received confirmation emails almost immediately that they had received both orders. The tank top shipped the next day, on 12/15. I know this because they sent me a shipping update email including a tracking number where I could track the status. The iPhone case shipped on the 16th, also notified via email containing tracking number. The tank arrived on 12/19, and appears to be great quality - no issues with the screen printing. I have not washed it yet, so cannot attest to durability in the washing machine. The phone case arrived 12/20 and is AWESOME. It looks exactly as pictured online, no issues with the image being "stretched" and the colors are just as bright as I hoped they would be. It fits the iPhone 6 snuggly and adds very little weight or size. It is a glossy finish, yet I feel it provides more grip than the phone itself. There is a shock absorbing material in the back of the case, but I still consider it a mostly cosmetic case to protect from scratches and am not assuming it will provide equivalent shock absorbency of an OtterBox. Overall, I am super pleased with this site. The best kind of customer service is one that you don't need to contact since there were no issues! I have recommended Society6 to my sister-in-law who is an artist. I told her the products I received were top notch and she is going to upload her own art to give it a try! Give these guys another try. It seems they have upped their game!
Marvelous business model!
Tl; dr: best site ever!
I found the most beautiful, perfect, supremely awesome wall tapestry that I just HAD to buy my husband for his birthday. I ordered it without expecting it to arrive on time (ordered on a Sunday, birthday was the following Saturday). It arrived that Friday, which in itself is saying something. I live in a mountain town where the number one complaint among locals is the horrendous postal service. There is no mail delivery in our county, so if you want mail you need a PO box. Thankfully, my husband actually works for the local UPS store so it's not a problem for us generally. I see what it's like as an insider, and I can totally corroborate the community's disdain for the USPS. Anyways, I couldn't believe my tapestry was delivered in such a timely fashion! That is my first commendation. Secondly, it turned out that the size of the tap that I bought was way too big, we're talking 10 foot ceilings and corresponding walls would maybe accommodate a tap this big! I didn't measure any of the walls in our apartment before ordering, thinking the bigger the better right? Well I'm going to play my woman card and say that it just didn't cross my mind. So I contacted their customer support by email and heard back within a day. Samantha was the darling employee who immediately refunded my purchase (say what!?) and also allowed me to keep the original tap! As an online consumer, I can't even find the words to describe how amazing it feels to have a company really put their customers first! Thank you Society6, I will be a repeat customer for these reasons, and many more.
The kind of help you want from a business (but rarely ever get)
Society6 are a truly great business and everyone should be cleaning out their pockets to spend their money here.
I've been gifted and also ordered a few items from the company myself and have always really liked the quality of products and the ace feeling of supporting independent artists.
After receiving an item and finding to my dismay that it didn't quite look the way I expected it to (based on the web image, which is auto-generated, I understand), I did the normal thing and weighed up my options: keep it and suck up the loss of 50 clams or begin the arduous returns journey? Hmm. Although I hated to do it, I did eventually decide to return the item for my money back.
I tried to process a refund through their handy automated system. But I ran into problems, and after a few tries I gave in, pressed the red buzzer, and sent a Contact Us message. A few hours later (I am overseas), I got a personal reply via email that was totally understanding, supportive and helpful. The company had gone ahead and processed my refund and also - wait, what? - told me not to worry about returning the item. "Donate it," they said. "It's really okay." - an unexpected and completely extra-mile move on their part, which was actually pretty damned welcome, as I would have been paying for international postage in order to get it back to them.
They way Society6 handle their customer service is commendable - and that takes a certain amount of caring and cojones from a company that is sorely lacking most other places.
That one little move made a loyal future customer out of me.
Love that they're the exception to the rule. Society6 rocks.
Great products and fantastic customer service!
I have ordered many times now from Society6, and was always satisfied with their products.
However, in my last order, the two biker tank tops that I had ordered ended up being way to big. Unfortunately, I received the order two days before leaving for a one month trip to Europe. I wanted an exchange, but no one would be home to receive the item, and the post office would only hold the item for five days before returning it to sender. I wrote to the Society6 customer service via e-mail, and Dev, one of their customer agent, answered the very next day. Considering the time restriction that I was under, I was thrilled about the quick response. He explained that I had 30 days to return/exchange the items once received; that I would need to make another purchase with the new items that I wanted; and that he would refund me the original order once I wrote the order confirmation number in the ticket that he had opened for me.
I left for Europe, and shortly before returning, I placed my new order. However, the 30 day delay was expired, and the ticket originaly opened, was now closed.
I contacted customer service once more via e-mail, and again they responded within 24 hours. Dev, who had originaly helped me, not only re-opened the ticket, refunded me the orinal purchase, but also told me that I did not have to return the tank tops and could donate them to whom I pleased. I ended up giving them to my co-worker who adored them and who will probably become a new customer of Society6.
Good customer service is very hard to come by, but great one is almost un heard of. I highly recommed this company for the great products they have, but also for their outstanding customer service!
Redefining the online retail experience AND celebrating small batch makers
The art, t-shirts, stickers/labels, and paper material I have ordered from Society6 have all been terrific. Images screened on to fabric are vivid, highest quality, and make for apparel that wears well and looks even better. Note that the chosen tee brand - Bella - is a superior manufacturer of apparel: ain't no crappy, worn out, pilled synthetic or cheap cotton happening here.
Add to that, there are no returns. The product isn't what you thought or what you had in mind, no problem: your order will either be replaced or you get a refund. For those who dig regifting or work for business that do Secret Santa or Yankee Trade, you never have to buy stuff again.
(I say that in jest, because everyone has their motivating factors.)
You may wonder, as I certainly do, how can a business sustain itself if it makes duplicates and only is paid for half of those. And my guess is that the quality of things is so good - evinced by the aforementioned apparel and that orders are created once they are ordered and not pulled from a warehouse where things have been mass made - that repeat business, referrals, and consistent orders make it so.
While the customer service model - email interaction as opposed to phone and live chat - not what most of the industry provides (, I'll take it everyday and twice on Sunday versus rote, rehearsed, scripted talk with people on a help desk who could not care less.
Recently the sizes of five of the six tees I ordered were wrong, and Gen and J. M worked tirelessly with me to ensure I could get replacements that would work. I didn't mind that we did this via email, because first, it wasn't that important (I mean, it's clothes) and when time is spent to review policy, process, and available product, the results are better.
I'm all about Society6, and I hope you will be.
I wanted to check up on sizes before ordering a t-shirt
I wanted to check up on sizes before ordering a t-shirt, just to see what others said about them (so I'd know whether to get a medium or small, I'm always wary of buying clothes online because of fit etc). I am honestly shocked to come across so many bad reviews for the site, I have had nothing but good experiences so far!
Free shipping has always been free, I have had no extra costs added and the site does say that custom fees may be added depending on the laws of the country that you live in. All the complaints I've seen about free shipping appear to be based in Canada, so maybe there is an issue with customs there? But I haven't had a problem, the cost has always come to exactly what was stated before buying.
So far I have bought 6 pillowcases, a phone case, a mug, an art print and a t-shirt. The pillowcases are all beautiful, good quality colour and fabric. The mug was, again, good quality print and the mug itself was fine - I could get worse mugs for more money with no print, so very good value. The art print is beautiful, colours are clear, and so is the phone case - there has been one small crack in a delicate area since I bought it, but that's only because I constantly drop my phone so I think that's fair enough. The t-shirt orginally came in a men's medium, not a women's, but customer service was very quick once I mentioned this and my refunded women's sized shirt is in the post now. Shirt and printing quality is very good.
As for the wait for shipping - I am almost literally on the other side of the world, and the shipping has been very efficient. For every order I have been notified of progress up until the order is sent, and then it's been between 2-4 weeks to receive each item - standard practice from U. S to NZ. (Amazon takes over 5 weeks, the book depository around 3).
I am saddened to see that people have had issues with the site, my experience has only ever been good with them!
Society6 Commendation Jan. 4,2019
January 4.2019
To Whom It May Concern:
I am contacting you about the professionalism of three Society6 employees whose names are Tiffany, Macky and Tristan. They are dedicated employees who work meticulously for Society6 by responding expeditiously to customer email and website inquiries. Each of these three notable employees deserves a letter of commendation because their work ethic, professional demeanor and customer service focus are so exemplary. They simply cannot help customers enough during their inquiries about any website product. I had questions about two of my purchases (Dripping Drake and Starry Nights) to which they satisfactorily responded in a timely fashion. During my email contact with Tiffany, Macky and Tristan, they were also particularly polite and courteous.
I have interacted with many customer care employees throughout the years, Tiffany, Macky and Tristan easily rank among the very best of them. Although I have not actually met them, I can confidently speculate that each of them possesses the personality, intelligence and temperament to continue to very successful with Society6 in the many years ahead. They have gone above and beyond the normal employee requirements to ensure customer satisfaction with a commendable amount of eagerness. Such employees who are committed to providing optimal customer service, are assuredly and demonstrably very valuable team Society6 team members.
I am respectfully requesting that this commendation about Tiffany, Macky and Tristan be shared not only with their immediate supervisors but also with upper level Society6 Corporate Management because it is employees like them, who contribute to Society6's outstanding reputation and mantra of excellence, amid so many competitors within the customer service industry. The final reason that I would also like this commendation about Tiffany, Macky and Tristan to be shared with upper level management is because Society is absolutely fortunate to have such truly unique, outstanding employees. Thank you for forwarding my request to the appropriate corporate structure and for taking the time to read this commendation letter.

Won a customer for life!
Wow! I am extremely impressed by this company and their great customer service! Recently I ordered two beautiful canvas prints and before ordering I really took my time measuring the space to ensure I ordered the correct size, etc. It turns out I didn't think to measure the depth and they visually shrunk the room way more than I expected. I truthfully am not the type of person to return things, mainly because of the extra effort and "fight" it usually involves, but in this case since it was bothering me so much I decided to see if I could return/exchange the prints so I submitted a request around 8:00pm Pacific time. I received a response within 30 minutes explaining that the refund had been processed and that I would not need to return the prints and all they asked was that if I could find a good home for them or donate them to a charity like Habitat for Humanity. This gesture and amazingly perfect suggestion just made me feel so good! I LOVE IT when a company does things like this and GETS it! I am literally still shocked since so many companies don't operate this way. Not only will I take that suggestion and donate these paintings to Habitat for Humanity but I'm going to get right back on their site and order the correct size of paintings for my room right now. I'll also be telling everyone about this when they comment on my new art:)
Thank you! Keep up the great work, you just won a customer for life.
Update*** I literally just posted this review on yelp a few minutes ago and already have an update to my original post. I don't think I could love a company more. I'm literally nearly in tears here lol! When I first sent my request asking for a return/exchange/refund, I wasn't my usual cheery self. I'm used to dealing with cruddy customer service so I just got straight to the point. The responses that followed from the customer service rep were so kind and I was in such shock from the gesture and suggestion that I couldn't stop thanking him and the company. He replied with a promo code for me to use towards my new paintings! I told him that I have never in my life left a customer service experience smiling like I am right now.
So much love for this company and their amazing customer service!
I recently ordered a quantity of 40 items for corporate gifts
I recently ordered a quantity of 40 items for corporate gifts. I wanted to verify my order and try to get some shipping info but with no customer service phone number and the process to contact Society6 a little convoluted, I decided to research some reviews. I began to worry when I read the poor reviews here on BBB, but my wife reminded me that people don't usually write positive reviews if they've come to look up an org on BBB. It is with pleasure to write that my order arrived fast, and without error. I am very pleased with the outcome and will likely order again from Society6. They did a good job and I'm excited to send these gifts out to my clients.
They will not refund me when I asked for a refund 10 after a of receiving it. They lied about hassle free returns They take your money and keep it. Also their merchandise as far as comforters is flimsy
I had ordered an item from this site and after 7 weeks the item still had not shipped. Customer service continued to make excuse after excuse but it was apparent that this was a scam. Credit card company reversed the charges and stated that most sites that give a 4 digit confirmation code are a scam site.

This website is amazing, not only what they do, but the customer service is second to none
This website is amazing, not only what they do, but the customer service is second to none.
Horrible customer service and product. I ordered a pillow that not only looked cheap in person but the insert was 4" larger than the pillow case. FRAUDULENT. SCAM.
I purchased and paid for a painting on 5/27/20. Today is 9/16/20 and painting has never been received. Tried numerous times to contact with No answer by email or phone. $69.60 isn't that much money but this is a crappy way to run a business. They need to be reported for the scammers they are!
Ordered 2 items on the 30th of November. On the 6th of December I received notification that they had been shipped via DHL, but in checking the tracking # a day or so later, it showed it was still "en route" to DHL. On December 13th it was still "en route", so I emailed them. They state on their website that they get back to customer emails within 24 hours. They didn't. I emailed them again. They ignored that one too. So, I posted on their Facebook page, detailing my issue, and found a bunch of other people had had a similar experience. I also tweeted on their Twitter page. I hoped by making my complaint public they might respond. Both attempts were also ignored. But then inexplicably, I received a $6.00 refund (my entire purchas was for $52). I again emailed them, asking what this refund was. Also ignored. So, since I had paid via Paypal, on 16th of December, I contacted Paypal and opened a dispute...and voila! This morning, 17th of December, less than 24 hours after filing my dispute, Paypal refunds the remaining amount. I also got an email from Society6, where they put the blame entirely on DHL (DHL never received the packagehow could it be their fault?). They also lied, claiming they had replied to my emails. Lastly, they said they hoped I'd buy from them in the future! Like ***. Oh, and it will take 7-10 BUSINESS days to get my refund(s). Thank you, Society6! I'd give you minus 10 stars if I could.
Artistic Treasures Await: Society6 Review
So, I had a bit of a tussle with the customer service folks over at Society6.co, but eventually, we got everything sorted out. They had a 25% off sale going on, but I didn't get the discount right away. I had to put in some effort to make it happen. But let me tell you, the art on this site is absolutely amazing! I bought a few items for my son, and he really liked them. In fact, I'm thinking of getting the same piece for myself after Christmas. Buying art as a gift can be a real challenge, because everyone has different tastes. But with Society6, the choices are practically endless. I could spend hours on this site just browsing through all the cool stuff! It might just be the best art site on the whole internet. One artist I really like is Johnny Allen Vodka (or Alan, I'm not sure which). I bought one of his pieces called "Inner Space," and it's just incredible. Overall, I'd say Society6 is definitely worth checking out if you're into art and cool stuff. Just be prepared to do a little bit of work to get those discounts!

The product that was delivered looks nothing like the product advertised
The product that was delivered looks nothing like the product advertised. Solid black color is in place of various shades of blue. I purchased the Bond II by SpaceFrogDesigns credenza on March 28th for $606.22, Order # ***. Purchase price included tax and shipping costs, and was paid for with a credit card. The product was delivered on April 5th. The advertised product includes artwork on the doors of the credenza. The artwork has 2 whales in an ocean setting, and the ocean is represented with various shades of blue. The product delivered to me has doors in which the ocean is a solid black, with no variation of blue colors that were in the advertised product. I emailed the company, and submitted a total of 6 photographs on April 5th. I received a response on April 6th from a customer support representative named Ais, who let me know that my concern would be sent to the technical team. On April 7th, I received an email from Emily, the customer support lead, who wrote that she will go ahead and forward my ticket "over to our vendor team for further investigation and see if a replacement will work in this instance". There is no phone number to call and speak to an actual representative, and the customer support reps are passing my problem from one person to the next. At this point, I decided I no longer wish to do business with this company, and would like a full refund. I emailed the company on April 8th requesting a refund.

I attempted to place an order online and it didn't go through, but then I got an e-mail stating that my selections qualified for 30% off. I want to be sure I have no order as I did not place one and do not want anything from this business. I also want all marketing e-mails to stop. I tried contacting the business by phone and e-mail and they do not respond. Do not do business with this company. Beware.
On February 5, 2022, at 5:38 pm PST, an order for 4 items was placed. Society 6 only confirmed one item for $58.00. I cancelled the order on the same day at 5:51 pm PST. According to my Discover card statement, Society 6 charged me $112.32 for the single item, which is more than the $58.00 initially confirmed. The Society 6 website advertises that they will honor any cancellation and provide a full refund if the item ordered is cancelled within 1 hour of the order being placed. I cancelled the order just 13 minutes after it was placed. Despite this, Discover shows that Society 6 charged me $112.32 for the one item instead of the confirmed $58.00. I am requesting a full refund. Thank you.
There is no way to contact this company other than try its website which is not working! They do not accept phone calls. I am trying to return a product that was not as pictured on site.
I ordered an art print, but Society 6 shipped it to the wrong address. They do not have a phone # for customer service. Only automated responses to customer concerns. I reached out via DM on Twitter, but no response. I need Society 6 to pick up the item, and ship it to the intended receiver.
I purchased a notebook and the pages fell out within a few uses
I purchased a notebook and the pages fell out within a few uses. The company denied my request for a refund and instead offered me 30% off on another. I purchased a notebook (among some other things) from Society6 and within a few uses the pages have completely fallen out. I requested an exchange or refund exactly 60 days after my purchase was processed (that was a coincidence, I just reached my peak of frustration on the 60th day after a chunk of 10 or so pages fell out at once when I opened the notebook). I placed my order on August 6, 2020 at 6:00PM and asked for an exchange on October 6, 2020. Society6 claims a satisfaction guaranteed, no-hassle refund process within 60 days of processing an order. As I told the company, I was willing to receive an exchange for the exact item if they could guarantee that a new notebook won't fall apart in the same manner, however they denied my request and instead offered a discount code for 30% to purchase another one. Seeing the poor quality of their products I'd rather get a refund than spend another dollar on their company. I actually purchased 2 of the exact same notebook but I have only gotten around to using one, so this is only a complaint on 1 of 2. The picture attached shows my attempts at saving some of the pages, so you'll see pages stuffed back in with tape and clips. Every new page that I write on falls off. This is the same picture that I attached when I reached out to the company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I placed an order through Society6 on November 29, 2021. On December 2, 2021 I was provided with tracking information and told the item shipped. However, the tracking has not updated since then and reports DHL is awaiting for the package to be delivered to it for delivery. I reached out to their customer service who merely told me it shipped and DHL sometimes does not update tracking (meanwhile I just had another package from the UK ship through them with no issues). It has been 8 days since the package allegedly shipped and 12 since I placed the order. They promise shipment within 3-4 business days. They have completely disregarded our purchase agreement by keeping my money and not shipping the item. This place is at best inept and at worst a scam.
In the chaos of Covid, I made a purchase last Christmas and the item was never delivered. I was aware that I had bought something, but since it was my first time buying from this company, I wasn't sure who to contact. Both the shipping company and FedEx indicate that the item was not delivered. While shopping this year, I realized that I had indeed made a purchase the previous year that had not been delivered. I understand there is a 60-day policy for returns, but my item was never delivered in the first place! I'm not seeking a refund; I simply want the item I previously paid for. I have also provided them with the documentation showing that they charged my card for the purchase. As indicated in the information below, they still list the item as shipped, but not delivered! Thank you for your assistance! Order Placed: December 12, 2020. Status: Shipped. Framed Art Print / Vector Black / X-Small 10" x 12". Brushstroke No.109 by the artist. Total:
I am in an ongoing dispute with society6 over an order filled incorrectly twice, so far. (I accidentally deleted my original complaint written here.) Suffice to say, 42 emails later, including requests for photos, requests from me for a correction of wrong merchandise, explanations of my issues ad nauseum, and inept customer reps, I still do NOT have resolution. Their cavalier service policies, including returns at customers expense, and demands for ongoing communication, indicate a terribly user-unfriendly business. I seek correction, fulfillment of my order and drastic restitution for the incredible amount of time I've spent over a $42 shower curtain.
I purchased a set of curtains as gift based on a thumbnail picture on the Society6 website. What I received was a highly pixilated and distorted package of garbage. I emailed the company the day of receiving the package. I got no reply. So I engaged the chat feature and took screenshots of their messages and mine. Specifically where I was told to donate the item and expect a refund within 7-10 business days. 30 days later and I'm disputing with my bank. Do not shop here. If this is how customers are treated, imagine how the artists are being exploited.
Framed artwork received as a gift; frame has manufacturer defect
Framed artwork received as a gift; frame has manufacturer defect. Customer service sites 60 day refund policy and will not issue replacement. This product was purchased as a gift 5 months ago. I was the recipient of the gift and am only now hanging the artwork and noticing the defect. The frame is cut about 3-4mm off which causes visible gaps in the frame when looking straight on and especially visible when hung. Because the issue is clearly a manufacturing defect, regardless of the typical refund policy, I have requested a replacement frame to bring the product up to the expected standard. This was declined multiple times by customer service, though they have reviewed the photos and apologized for the error. I was offered a 30% off discount to replace the item by making another purchase on their site. 30% is a very common discount offered to any customer on their site. A trip to their site now would offer you a 40% discount on every available item. This is not a sufficient resolution to the stated issue and I am requesting an exception to the site's refund policy (which as a gift recipient, I would not have been made aware of to begin with) to make amends for the defective product I received. I have been a previous customer and had good experiences with the products received so I know that this frame is an unusual situation. I want to make amends with this business and receive accountability and the requested resolution with the business, as I have previously enjoyed their products and would like to be a future customer. However, due to the disappointing customer service and lack of accountability taken for this $55 item, I am hesitant to make future purchases for myself or others.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Purchased a set of beach chairs and umbrella online on a well-known shopping platform using an American Express card. Upon the first use, one of the chairs broke. I reached out over 20 times via email and followed their process to describe the problem and submit a photo. To date, they've provided no response at all. I am requesting a refund for the chair. I would have considered an exchange or replacement, but this company is so unreliable, I want nothing else to do with them. Thank you.
Placed an order on a website for a product that was needed urgently. The item was to be delivered by October 30th via standard shipping. However, I did not receive the item until November 1st. After contacting customer service, they simply reiterated the standard shipping details, which I was already aware of from the time I placed the order. Rather than offering an apology for the delay, they suggested that I should have chosen expedited or rush service if I wanted my items faster. The point is, when a company assures delivery by a certain date with standard shipping, it's unreasonable to expect the customer to pay extra for faster shipping. The response from customer service was atrocious and disrespectful, failing to provide any helpful insight or acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the delay. The tracking number provided was not useful in resolving this issue.
I placed an order for multiple items. It was one order but the company divided it into two, which I thought was odd. I received the products and they were extremely poor quality. I wrote to them and asked for a refund. They wrote back and said they would let me keep the items for free and refund me the money anyway. But they split my order in two (I did not place two orders). They only refunded me for one order and never informed me about how to return any of the items, even though they said their policy was that any other orders would need to be shipped back for a refund. Their website cannot be adequately navigated and they have no telephone number available. I believe that this company is committing fraud - marking up items and making a profit off of people with their "policy" that makes it difficult for people to ship items back and get a full refund. It's profoundly dishonest.
I was given a gift card by a family member on November 9, 2021, who provided Society6 with my correct email address and information. I received a confirmation of the order to my email as well as a notification that the order had shipped. I have not received any gift card information (e.g. claim code). I have tried to submit my email to the gift card claim page several times and never receive any email with the gift card code. I have not received a physical package containing the gift card. I contacted support and they redirected me to the gift card claim webpage, which as mentioned above has failed to yield me a gift card claim code. Very shady business practice! My family member spent money for me to receive a gift card which should be very simple to just provide me with a code, but apparently this is too hard to manage.

If I could give this place ZERO STARS, I would
If I could give this place ZERO STARS, I would.
I have nothing against their Artists, I think they are great. It's their customer service that is completely unacceptable.
I placed an order for an iPhone case back in September. Unfortunately due to some paypal/society6 website confusion, I was charged for 3 cases. I immediately tried to contact them to cancel the order, but there is NO CONTACT NUMBER.
I made an appeal to paypal, and they handled the dispute. The order was cancelled, and I received a refund, so I went to place the order again for 1 case. The order went through, and I thought all was good. A few days later, I logged on to check the status of my order, to find out that I had been refunded the amount for that order too. When I contacted them via email to find out why, they made up some lame excuse, and basically said they were charged a feee from paypal, due to my dispute, and so basically they were barring me from doing business with them again.
After damaging my new phone, I decided I really, really needed a case. So on October 25th, I had my boyfriend place another order, thinking we were being sneaky, using his name, credit card, and contact info. The Order was placed successfully, however for some reason, we didn't receive anything. After a couple weeks, we tried contacting them, because the order just said 'pending'. We have only received generic emails saying 'we will contact you within 24 hours'. We have NEVER received any response. We've sent numerous emails. And Nothing.
I've tried contacting them via Twitter, which they ignore. I became a friend of their facebook page, and asked them to reply to their customer emails, and I just discovered that they deleted that comment, and have BLOCKED me from commenting on their page. Total BS.
I have already contacted the Better Business Bureau about this, and am waiting to hear back from them.
I also found a number to call and leave a message (it was on the Visa statement which showed the charge, and the refund). Feel free to call, and leave a message: ***781.
Art is my business, its how I make a living
Art is my business, its how I make a living. Joined Society6 only to discover they had absolutely NO effort put into image protection to prevent piracy. And sent in a complaint to their Admin to make point of that issue - RESPONSE FROM SOCIETY6 = a lengthy cut-&-paste response of how no other website can protect artist. (So I went to several websites to prove that they did/w borders/dpi reduction/watermarks) and FURTHERMORE: (I pulled several random images OFF OF THE SOCIETY6 WEBSITE and showed how the images could be stolen and I could print them out entirely for free BECAUSE this company posts artwork online at an astounding 300dpi w/ absolutely no effort put into protecting the artwork (nary even a watermark)... So I sent in a lengthy list of suggestions, and posted them on their forums (that were specifically addressing art piracy)... guess what: My account was immediately suspended and my forum entry deleted. THEY CENCOR THEIR OWN FORUMS of members who are pissed off about having their artwork stolen.
So, keep in mind, doing business with Society6 is sketchy (pun intended) they have no corporate HQ, address or even a phone number: only fill in the blank tickets you can submit. (and this is a $94 mil company)
We refused to do business on their website or upload any artwork because of the gross negligence and raging level of incompetence they show towards their Sellers/Artists (the very source of their income)
Look up how many BBB complaints there are against the company, and how many unresolved because THEY COULD NOT BE LOCATED FOR SERVICE.
MAKE A STATEMENT:
"Signed up for Society6 to sell a popular fantasy art series, however, your website is useless to us because you provide absolutely NO IMAGE PROTECTION for your members/artisans to prevent/thwart image piracy.
You should really think about protecting your members works / since that is the very foundation of your service."
= Will get you suspended. THAT, my friend, is how they treat their clientele.
Want to be ripped off and have your art stolen on a daily basis? Then join SocietySUX.
Scammers and Liars!
IF I receive my item, I will go back and edit my review of this company, but as of right now, I am HIGHLY UNIMPRESSED with Society6. First, I ordered a framed print for my boyfriend on 12/16. The order wasn't even processed until 12/18. I am in the United States. The website states they use USPS for shipping in the US. I went online, it says they used DHL for shipping my package. I have experience with DHL from both a consumer and a seller standpoint and can tell you from both of those experiences that DHL is NOT usually very reliable. Anyway, I copy my tracking number from Society6's website into DHL's website and lo and behold, THE TRACKING NUMBER DOES NOT EXIST! They have no idea what I'm talking about. Society6 has generated a completely arbitrary tracking number on 12/20. So on 12/18, two days AFTER I've placed my order and they've taken my money, they've decided to even start processing my order. FOUR days following my order, they finally decide they'll ship it (maybe?)... using some other third party shipping facility not even endorsed by their website (I checked three times just to make sure I wasn't wrong - nowhere is DHL listed on Society6's website. ONLY USPS.). Now, keep in mind, the email I received straight from Society6 states "don't worry, regardless of what happens with the snow storms, your package is still guaranteed to arrive by 12/23!"... well, if you're just now sending it out, and DHL doesn't seem to know anything about this mysterious tracking number... is it REALLY arriving on 12/23 or are you laughing all the way to the bank with my money? Because right now, my gut is going with the latter. They also promise a confirmation email when the package is on its way... according to their website, the package is on its way, but I never actually received that package. I thought today "I wonder if they shipped anything out, I should check" and that's what prompted me to check because I never actually received an email from them. So... no correspondence... no valid tracking number... nothing. And again, it's not being shipped via USPS, as promised on their website. I don't WANT it shipped via DHL, but I guess I don't have a choice now... although, there's really no way of knowing if it's truly en route or not because the tracking number Society6 provided me with isn't even registering into DHL's website. As several others have pointed out here, there is no customer service number... presumably because they don't want to be inundated with angry customers wanting to know where their packages are at Christmastime. There's a form to fill out, but my fear is that it's useless. I filled it out... here's hoping. I truly hope I'm wrong in all of this. Like I said, I'll come back and revise my rating if I am.
trying to make a return on an item that according to their website should be no problem
i ordered a few pillows and pillow covers (not custom) from Society6, and they were the wrong color. So i contacted them and they have you fill out this fairly lengthy form, which i did. They then have you attach a picture! i actually had to open their vacuum sealed package to get a picture (hadn't opened it because i could see the color through the package and knew it wasn't going to work for what i needed. So did the paperwork and everything else they asked which was over the top and a ridiculous time waster, then i didn't hear back, so i contacted them (and by the way you can only contact them online, they do have a number but it simply tells you to go online) well they told me they had received the request to return but not the picture. We have been going back and forth now since Oct. 3rd via email. I don't know how and don't want to know how, to attach a picture to their request to return form, I had a friend that was here one day do it. But they said it wasn't there. There crap product is still in their packaging and they are just trying to delay taking it back and they are huge jerks about it. At this point I'm going to go to my bank and have a dispute filed. I will never ever ever purchase anything from this company again!
Desired outcome: I just want to know how they want me to ship their lousy product back to them and would like a refund without having to get the bank involved. It isn't even very much money, just the point.
Change in order
I placed an order for a floor pillow on 9/16/22. I received a confirmation9/17/22 at 12:45pm. I decided to change the shape from round to square, so I sent in a request to customer service on 9/17/22 at 12:03, BEFORE the confirmation email. I was told it was too late to change the order!
I asked to cancel the order, then reorder in the shape I want. They refused, and said I must wait to receive it, then return it. How wasteful for all of us.
The internet is awash in complaints about Society 6 customer service and slow production. I do not doubt production did not start before I made the change request. Rather then hustle for a customer, they just said no. Shameful.
Desired outcome: I want them to cancel the round pillow order and send me a square pillow as I requested.
Cutting boards
I am sorry you don't communicate by phone. This is very inconvenient.
The two cutting boards I ordered arrived on 8/1/22. They are both damaged. Seems like the box was dropped or something.
I would like to return them and get a refund.
My order #: [protected]
Hello,
What important information is missing? There are no instructions in the link you provided in your email of 8/9/22. I gave you my order #, a copy of the receipt, and photos of the damaged cutting boards. Attached please find a copy of another receipt that shows my address. What more do you want from me? Or are you just trying to avoid providing a refund?
Desired outcome: i would like to return them and get a refund. i can bring them to Santa Monica, CA
Search algorithm discrimination, and design upload process
Society6 algorithm discriminates against new artists. If you are not a part of the clique, then forget about your designs ever being discovered. Society6 only promotes their own artists. I've been on Socity6 for over 2 years now, and the only sales/leads that were generated were by me. I've contacted them on numerous occasions, and a single "agent" gives me the same canned response. Even if you are having technical difficulties, you get the same "canned" response. They are not there to help artists. They are there to rip artists off of their creativity and designs.
Desired outcome: change in the search engine to accommodate ALL artists
My money
I have never heard of this company before until a transaction came through for 326.43 while I was watching tv.. I don't know this company and it's my daughters birthday and you all have hacked my account and taken my money.. I want it back now.. You all took my money through my paypal account of which I haven't used since april. This is very wrong
Desired outcome: I want my money in my account by Friday or I’m suing this company for fraud.
Suspension of a piece of art that I created using my own photo, plus allowing others to produce art that they say is a copyright infringement.
I have on numerous times been in conflict with the website staff of Society6 taking down, or suspending artwork that is clearly allowed by other artists. They will never explain the real reason for the suspension other than it violates copyright laws.
Every photo I produce art with, I used from several sources that DOES NOT infringe on any copyrights. However, they do not seem to care. But yet will allow the same other members week after week, month after month, year after year, to sell artwork they will suspend on my account, claiming that I was in violation, but will allow theirs to remain for sale.
Many of the images are the exact same as the ones I submitted. In fact they have one artist that is selling an exact replica of a Bee Gees album cover (which is infringing on copyrights) to be sold.
But when they end up suspending an art piece that I created from a photo that I took myself in a parking lot one evening of a Beetlebug during Christmas time...this is where I draw the line.
Since when does a personal photo that I took become a violation of copyright laws? Yes... It is a Beetlebug, but I took the photo. I thought it was cool that one was still around. Which is why I took it, and shared it on Facebook.
Now... I will admit this was not my best work. In fact... It is kind of ugly. LOL However, it was my first attempt at digital art, and I was proud of myself at that time.
I have grown as an artist immensely since then, and had plans on upgrading my art piece, to only find that Society6 suspended it from my gallery.
The administration clearly does not know what they are doing. I am submitting a link of the suspension. Not sure if you can view it since you are not on my account. I will also submit copies of my original photo, and the art piece they suspended.
The original photo I took and posted it on Facebook on December 11, 2016. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Desired outcome: To get my art piece reinstated to my gallery.
Signing up
I have submitted a request for help and got a return email from Cecil. I am still unable to sign up, is there a phone number I can call? I signed up as told and went to the site that says "Join". When I try to put in a username it won't take it. I have tried several different ones, using numbers, capitalized letters and .com after. I tried Bigarthouse1.com...
Read full review of Society6Returning items
I fallowed Society6 email guide to the return process and received the most bizarre response. Order #[protected]
I received this response on Feb. 2, 2021, 16:37 PST from Jen.
Request #1203095
I wanted return process instructions and a refund for the 2 items I purchased. With no phone contact it is almost impossible to continue a return/refund process.
Desired outcome: Return instructions, label to print off, and refund for returned items.
two grey cable knit pillow
I ordered in early November 2020 2 pillows through Society6. The cost was $66.44, My order number is [protected]. I paid through paypal. I have waited to hear anything about the shipping. I found out by going on the website the items was shipped to the Rochester, Vermont address provided and the shipper used by Society6, DHL could not located the house address. I see the website tracking information states the pillows I purchased were routed through multiple regional locations and the items were returned to sender December 11th. It is December 25th. The recipient never received the pillows. Society6 never told me the items were returned to them and they never issued a refund to me or even contacted me through email or message or phone about the problems they supposedly had. Lousy customer service aside from never returning my money nor even holding DHL accountable for not locating the house which seems ridiculous.
Desired outcome: return my money Society6 has held since early November 2020 and obviously still holds as they have both my money and the 2 pillows not shipped to me.
I needed to follow-up the original post. Society6 has refunded the money for the missing package that could not be delivered by DHL to a confirmed street address. I still dont know why this problem wasnt brought to my attention by Society6 in early December when the package was returned to them instead of me having to go to the DHL website in late December and track what happened to my missing package. Thankfully this has been resolved.
incorrect tshirt color... twice
In mid-November, I ordered a LIGHT BLUE t-shirt with a design on it to give to a friend for Christmas. I received the shirt in early December and it was a different color blue than the website, darker and brighter, not light blue by any stretch of the imagination (see picture!). I was unhappy, and submitted a request for a replacement. They sent the SAME WRONG COLOR again. I submitted a request for assistance, and no one has gotten back to me - it's been over 48 hours, and they "promise a reply within 24 hours." It is now mid-December. At the rate that they produce and deliver items, I doubt I will get this corrected before Christmas, or at all! No phone number to call for help. VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER. This is the last I will purchase with them.
products with words. zipper bags
Hello,
I have enjoyed looking at Society6 in the past, but now it is full of profanity and religious slurs. I looked to order some cosmetic bags and was taken back with the language that was on the first page of the zippered bags. The more I looked the more I saw bags were not alone in the profanity dept. if you are going to be this kind of company that enjoys cheapening their site with profanity maybe you could offer an option to go profanity free. Just a thought. For me I will just go to the Competors to order my work. Also I would have rather written to Justin Wells but could not find an email address.
laptop case
I received the laptop case that I ordered a while ago. It took about a month for it to come after I ordered and paid for it. When it arrived part of the seam around the outside was coming undone. I thought it would be alright so I left it a while but it keeps getting worse. There is now a hole in the seam. I would like either a refund or a new case to resolve the issue.
Almost two years and still not resolved. Disgusting service.
