tv license cancellation
Despite having sent dozens of emails, with an affidavit and letter to cancel my TV license, I have had NO response from the licensing dept and am still getting extremely harrasing telephone calls from VVM.
This has to stop immediately and my email needs to be attended to urgently.
I cannot believe how inefficient this dept is and I am not surprised that SABC gets such bad press and is in financial difficulties. I would like an urgent response please with confirmation of my license confirmed and NO MORE calls from VVM .

demands for tv licence payment after two years
I was in SA for two years on a company support scheme. I left in 2015 as my visa had expired.
In 2017 I was sent an e mail by an aggressive and unhelpful company demanding money and my details. The company Nu Debt had a very bad write up and reputation so I refused, but advised them that I had left in 2015 and my licence was paid and up to date.
I also contacted the SABC and completed the forms as requested and supplied the information requested. The never responded. Some three months later I now have another e mail from Nu Debt!
I REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO TELL THEM I AM NOT IN SA AND HAVE NOT BEEN FOR OVER 2 YEARS ! THEY JUST DO NOT LISTEN, communicate or use any form of common sense AND ITS VERY FRUSTRATING AND UPSETTING.
tv licence incorrect arrears charges
I received a demand for arrears TV license fee for myself, Mrs SS Botha, ID nr [protected], TV License nr: [protected]. After numerous emails to the debt collectors and the licence department, informing them that this arrears amount is incorrect, as me and my husband has been staying together in one household for the past 14 years (and by law are required to take out one TV licence - which my husband have done in his name), this seems to be removed from my name.
However, when my husband Mr HJ le Roux, ID nr [protected], TV Licence nr: [protected] wanted to pay our TV licence, he was informed that the arrears amount was moved from my name to his name!
The reminder he received stated an amount of R265; when he got to the Post Office to pay this, he was informed this amount is now almost R5000!
Can this mess please be sorted out and the arrears amount removed from both of us' names!
Can this please be urgently resolved!
naruto not being aired on sabc 2
I'm raising a complaint that an anime series has stopped playing on sabc 2 . The series is Naruto shippuden. It usually play's weekdays at 17:00, but now it only plays repeats on Saturdays. It has been replaced with Urbo: adventures of pax Africa. I would like say on behalf of the anime lovers that we humbly request that you remove the Urbo series and put Naruto back on. The Naruto series was removed from the channel without informing viewers, this happened between the months of June and July 2017 .So please bring it back because weekdays have become unbearable.

service
Hello
I just called your customer service with reference number khomotosa 20/11/2017 and possibly spoke to the rude lady whose name is reflected in the customer service. I strongly believe that if people hate their jobs so much they should stay at home and let someone else with real people skills work the job! She sighed and was just so exasperated with me! I struggled to understand her accent so I asked her to repeat herself for clarity and she was just so rude!
What happened to bathophele? 😡
She needs some serious telephonic ethical training or she should just be replaced!
Thanks

tv licence payment not processed
I paid tv licence on the 29th of july 2017 via eft. using the banking details on the letter sent to us from the sabc. now we getting calls and smses from their debt collectors that we owe tv licence and they even added interest. we have proof of payment and we have sent it to the sabc and to their collectors, but still no communication from them, just daily smses that we owe them.please help.
vvm debt collectors
No reminder sent this year then I get an SMS from VVM debt collectors. I called them, paid the account and have now received 4 calls from them. This is harassment and considering the fact that I did respond the first time paid and e mailed payment to them and they still call tells me they are incompetent. I even sent an e mail to sabc and to them concerning this matter and still they continue calling. Ref [protected]. I suggest you do not pay them for their calls as they should not be calling paid up customers.
sabc tv license refund
Good day
I paid a tv license using capitec bank remote banking application and remember that the accounts of the sabc tv license are preloaded on that particular application.
Now I called and spoke to jonathan as well as kgomotso, I also sent them proof of payment, statement of my bank account and tv license account.
The sabc tv license statement shows that it's paid twice but they refuse to refund me, saying to me that I should provide them with the account details that which I made the payments into. I don't understand really.
Since 31 october 2017 been dealing with this matter. This is totally unacceptable!

How it is possible that when I cancelled the purchase of a tv with Joshua Doore in 2008, a day after I initiated the purchase aswell as informing the SABC TV License Dept of this, I receive and sms from MBD demanding payment of R2073.00, in 2017 ( 9 years later )?
After sending an affidavit to tvlic.[protected]@sabc.co.za twice they still have not received it. I have spoken to the following people at SABC on tellephone number [protected].
1. Ayanda 20/10/17 15:43pm - adviced me to forward the affidavit.
Sent 1st e.mail with affidavit on the 24/10/17
2. Gomotso 26/10/17 12:18pm - informed me to give them 2 days to receive e.mail.
3. Portia 27/10/17 12:17pm - informed me still no e.mail has been received.
I resent the e.mail again on 27/10/17.
4. Winnie 03/11/17 10:41 am - still no e.mail received and rudely informed me that I will pay the amount outstanding.
I would like to inform the SABC that I have not and still do not own a television.
Should this matter not be resolved within 7 working days I will be seeking legal assistance.
Thank You
tv licence account not updated after immigrating
Good Day
Once again I have to complain about my SABC TV Licence account that has not been updated. This is after send numerous emails since 2015. Finally After complaining on this platform I received another Affidavit document to complete and send through on the 23/10/2017 which I have done. Following up again today on the 30/10/2017 I am told that they still have not received the documents. The Email address is correct as I replied to the one the SABC had sent me and they confirmed after calling them that it is the correct one.
over charge, incorrect billing
Good day
I have been attempting to get them to allocate my payments correctly towards my TV Licence for some time now without any success. I was advised that a bank statement is not a valid proof of payment which does not make sense as this is the highest rank of proof of payment and when I check my statements my balances does not make sense, it is so high that it seems like the monthly installment, yearly installment and my payments towards the licence is added instead of being updated correctly. I pay my TV licence yearly and as per my knowledge my next payment should only be due in 2018 however all my communication with them and the law firm they handed me over to ignores my correspondence to have this matter resolved. How am I to confidently pay my TV Licence when this is the problems I will have to deal with.

tv licence not cancelled after immigrating
Good Day
My TV Licence [protected] was not cancelled as requested when I immigrated to Australia in July 2015. I have sent numerous emails requesting the cancellation with no reply. I took the no reply that it was done. On returning on holiday I logged on and saw that the outstanding amount is R1325. I refuse to pay this outstanding amount due to me not being in the country, I have proof that I have not been in South Africa. I have no idea as to how to resolve this issue and prevent further charges from accumulating.

I have registered my tv licence 2016. And now i have received an sms from VVM that i must pay R345.00 as soon as possible.
My question is..why you did not called me or sms me as they did smsed to me that i must pay tv lic as a reminder.?
And more thing you should know, Is that, i knew before i regiater a tv lic that i will pay. But you decided to hand over my accound without contacting or reminding me to pay. Why you doing as if i have stolen something from you? Please try to improve the way you doing things. Because first of all, you guys know that there are more people around the world who got Tv'swithout tv licence and indians and Chinese who are selling tv without registering for tv licence. What about them?
But you today you do things as if you know what you doing meanwhile you don't.
I will only pay R265.00 since i haven't got your reminder. And I'm paying my DSTV account every month.

Resolution = let the collection attorney send me an account to my postal address or email it to [protected]@gmail.com
I have paid my tv licence (R265) and have obtained a receipt thereof. I received a call from collections saying I have been handed over and have to pay in r80.00 as I am in arrears with my tv licence account. I have asked them to send me an account so that I can see what is stated on there and I will then attend to the payment if needs be. I have been refused an account so why should I attend to payment? This is absolutely frustrating as I get called to my work phone for this ridiculous matter.

To whom it may concern,
Please see mail below sent to the SABC dated 27/9/17. Once again the TV licencing department has sent me a sms on my private cell phone on 1/10/17 informing me that I am still in arrears with my TV licence and that they will be handing my account over for collection, however they are yet to acknowledge my mail. I have previously stated that I will not pay unreasonable fees unduly levied to my account. Please be so kind as to refer to my mail below and revert back to me.
Thank you for your time.
Kind regards

To whom it may concern;
I would like to draw your attention to the telephonic conversation that I had with your collection agency dated 20 September 2017.
I am very annoyed about this phone call, to my cell phone no less, when I was informed that the TV Licence board have handed me over for debt collection due to the non-payment of my TV license. For starters this statement is untrue as there was only a short payment to the amount of R50, 00 on my account. I have had no correspondence prior to this occasion in the form of a phone call or SMS’s warning me that my TV licences was outstanding to the amount of R50, 00. You were quick to hand me over but not so quick to send out an invoice indicating that I still owe R50, 00 and then merely add fees as you see fit. I have never, since 1985 when I first started paying my TV licence skipped a single year, I often when I had extra money paid my licence in advance without any gratitude or recognition from your side, however as soon as I forget to pay R50, 00, which I would have paid along with this year’s payment as soon as it became clear to me that there is a shortfall, but instead informing me of the outstanding R50, 00 I as a consistent loyal contributor was handed over for debt collecting. I take exception to being charged R125 in fees when I only needed to make a payment of R50. We as a family took a drive from Centurion on the N14 past Diepsloot to Lanceria Airport on Sunday. Driving past Diepsloot, and guess what, as far as the eye could see there were DSTV dishes. It made me wonder if all those people are paying their licences, no I don’t think so and you will not make the effort to get their addresses, but because you have my detail, I am an easy target and therefore I get handed over. Did I mention as far as you can see their were DSTV dishes, yes because nobody actually watches SABC 1, 2, or 3 anymore so money making on advertising isn’t taking place any more, therefore you have to pray on your loyal customers. Not that I have watched anything on SABC 1, 2 or 3 in the past 10 years. But still, I pay my TV licence because “It is the right thing to do”. So the right thing for you to do is to send out your so called TV licence inspectors, which I have never seen in my life, to go and knock on those doors in Diepsloot and every other house with a DSTV dish in South Africa to determine if they have licences, before you pray on me who is paying even if I made a short payment. Please note that I have been a loyal contributor however if this is the manner in which your treat your loyal customers I will withdraw my payments and support of the brand. I suggest that you refer back to your records and send me an amended statement where no fees have been levied. I refuse to pay fees which are in excess of 150% of the actual R50 shortfall. I have since paid the R50. Furthermore as a public service you should also provide the public with an audit equal to that of DSTV customers showing that the TV licence holders and DSTV subscribers balance.
I look forward to hearing from you with an updated statement.

[protected] tv licence
Good day
Please tell me why I have now received another account from you.
Please pull up the recorded conversation that I had with one of your consultants on the 11 of August 2017 where she gave me the amounts I had to pay.
I am extremely unhappy with how this was dealt with. I received no reminder to pay my tv licence last year. No sms and no mail via post. I have not moved nor has my cell number changed. Unfortunately it did slip my mind and I made the payment only in March. I understand that there was a penalty added to my late payment, which I was not made aware of.
I did not once receive a single sms or letter from SABC informing me that I still owed money and then in August received an sms from VVM Debt Collectors stating that I had been handed over. Had I been informed by the SABC the first time, I would have paid the amount immediately. Strange how I received no sms from you but the debt collectors could reach me.
I contacted the call centre and VVM and settled the matter immediately. I am not going to pay this R79.50. How can you add penalty charges for the months after I already paid the outstanding amount in March. I have already paid the charges for the four months from November to March as well as the full tv licence fee for the next year. As far as I am aware telephonic recording are legally binding and if I was told that I did not have to pay those months penalty fee, how can you ask me to do so now.
Warm Regards
