South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] religions not being treated equally by the sabc

According to our Constitution, all religions are supposed to be equal (sic). I'm sure the SABC would agree to this! However, all of the movies and soapies featured on SABC slanders Jesus's Name and God's Name and blasphemes against God and Jesus. But only against God and Jesus, for some odd reason. So in future can you PLEASE broadcast other movies and soapies in which the names of other gods of other religions are slandered and blasphemed such as Mohammed, Allah, Vishnu, Buddha and so forth.

I refer you to the sick program aired on Sunday evenings called Modern Families. This program supports and promotes gay couples and gay marriages. By doing this, the SABC is actually endorsing gay people, gay couples, and gay marriages. This sick social behaviour is absolutely contrary to God's Word. God created Adam and Eve - not Adam and Steve. God endorses a marriage between a man and a woman. Please can you not broadcast any programmes that supports gays, gay couples and gay marriages. Thank you.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] tv license

Dear sir/madam

We are in dispute with sabc tv licenses for years. According to them we have five tv sets on our premises – we have never had five. We delivered proof without success.

Our last correspondence from them, an e-mail dated 16 august 2016 sent by olebogeng mojela, stated the following: “kindly be advised as the account has had the 5 tv sets on the account from 2009/07/01 ...” (Verbatim) according to the relevant account, dated 03/06/2009, incidentally not dated from 2009/07/01, but 2009/08/01, the last item on the account stated that we have had 1 tv set. That is according to the sabc themselves.

We have sent all these information to them, but they keeep on sending accounts for five sets.

What must we do to stop this harassing by the sabc, please?

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] violent protest censoring

I am receiving threats from the SABC about legal actions,
Fisrtly i have been paying my Tv licence even when i have never seen any programme playing in my Language on SABC channels, the news is Xitsonga only plays at 5h30 when i am only only on my way home frome work, when will SABC starts considering Tsonga speaking people in this country.

the most important issue now is that we are being deprived of the news that is very key to our nation by the SABC, we are travelling not knowing what dangers we are facing where we are going simply because SABC choses not to give us the much needed info, SABC needs to tell me why i must pay them to see only what they choose to show on Tv, i am sure is is my democratic right to the right programmes in my langauge and the news when they happen and in my language.

until so i see no reason to pay

Regards
Denis

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] application for new license - sabc tv license dept seem to want me to pay someone else's license fees

I moved back to SA a short while ago, as soon as I moved into my own flat (end of Feb 2016) I tried to register for a TV license but the site gave an error during the registration process so I immediately sent them a help request via their online form - no response.

Since then I have sent several emails, phoned and tried contacting the licensing department through the online forms again and still no response from the SABC. I got a random reminder to pay the bill recently so I called again, the guy gave me a TV license number to pay but when I went online it told me the license number and my cell phone number do not match. So now the SABC are trying to get me to pay someone else's license!

I figured that obviously no one is going to help at the TV licensing department so I sent an email to the Broadcast Complaint - maybe they could put me in touch with someone that could help. I got a response back from her and she kindly forwarded my email chain to a Monya Boucher who is supposed to be responsible for the TV license department. Well that was 2 weeks ago and of course she/he hasn't responded.

I just want to know what else I can do to get a TV license and get the online account set up, and I certainly do not want to pay anyone else's license. I know I am not alone in having hassles with SABC TV licensing but this is ridiculous. To ignore customers is unacceptable and you would think that in a country where thousands don't pay their TV licenses, the SABC would want to help those that do want to pay.

I phoned the SABC licences this morning to find out how it is possible that I have an account that is in arrears if I have not owned a tv for more that 20 years. I was then informed that the licence was renewed in 2013 and the fees have been outstanding since then. Now I ask with a river in my eyes, how in the world this is possible since I cancelled my original tv licence after a house robbery in 1992 already (personally dropped a copy of the SAP report and letter to cancel at SABC Auckland Park) and then never owned a tv since! The response I received from the gentleman on the other side of the line was simply, "You have a tv you must pay"! REALLY
I honestly pray that somewhere, somehow, somebody actually starts doing something about this and that the SABC gets their facts and records straightened out.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] no feedback and help

please see my emails to SABC. 1email dated 04/02/2016, 2nd 18/02/2016.
Good morning,

My TV got hit out by lightning some time ago and I sent my son to go buy another @ game and they refused to let him purchase it on my licence number, my son had a copy as well as my original id with him but they were no interested, so he had to take one out on his name. I feel this is not fair as my son lives with me, does not even watch tv as he is a computer geek and now must pay a licence annually for a TV he does no own or have.

What can I do to get this licence off his name please?

Thank you

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] refunding of overpaid 2016 ivb-4167

DJ van Niekerk : Account No. [protected] On 2015-OCT-29 I made a internet payment via ABSA Bank for the amount of R 74.00 ( seventy Rand ). On 2015-OCT-30 the SABC deducted an amount of R 74.00 from my VISA Card No. [protected] being my annual subscription for 2016. This means that my 2016 annual subscription has been paid twice ! This serves to request that the overpaid amount of R 74.00 be credited to my VISA Credit Card.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] license department / customer services

I've been trying for 6 years to get my license cancelled. I've submitted affidavits, letters from storage companies, everything SABC asked me for over the years. I was told its cancelled years ago, then the billing started in 2013 again. I got all the letters and affidavits again. But now I got a letter saying they will only cancel it if I pay R1530. I don't owe them any money/ I paid my license up until I had a TV in my procession, and supplied all the documents and proof they asked for. When I contact the customer service center the people can't tell my why I have to pay this amount. I get shouted at, and just told "Pay the money then we'll cancel" They wont even allow me to explain and cut me short. I can't deal with the SABC anymore. Is there another 3rd party I can take this up with?I think they are trying to be opportunistic and hoping that I will cave and just pay up out of frustration, but I'm not giving them a cent for something I don't owe and I have done everything right from my side.

Unfortunatly I don't think SABC will refund you the R3000 you accidently payed into their account because they are owned by goverment, and the ANC is corrupt. I've given up trying to sort out my tv license issue witu them because they're so corrupt.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] tv license

1. Our domestic a/c, [protected], is up-yo-date with R0 balance. 2. Our business a/c, [protected], C/O Flambos Grassy Park, has a balance of over R5000.00 3. We have stop trading at Flambos March 2003, with a R0 balance for TV License 4. In 2007, apparently SABC made a decision, a mistake, to change the business a/c to a domestic a/c. 5. Now they want us to merge the accounts to make us liable to pay the R5000.00 6. I’m refusing to send a copy of our marriage certification and I’m refusing to pay 1c more. 7. SABC is trying to get money out making us guilty of ‘stealing’ TV times since 2003. 8. My humble request is for SABC sending us a statement that will indicate that we have R0 outstanding balance on both these accounts.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] world cup wrap up

I would like to complain about the comments made on the Wrap up show after the rugby game between South Africa and Scotland (SABS2 20h00, Saturday 3rd October 2015). After the interview with Heineke Meyer, the co-presenter made inappropriate comments about the fact that Mr Meyer thanked God. As a lot of other supporters of the game, I watch the wrap up because I am interested in the rugby discussion and not the religious views of the presenters. Surely, Mr Meyer is allowed to make a statement such as that without being criticized and mocked by an SABC presenter. I am truly disappointed that this kind of comments are allowed and even voiced on the national TV channels. I am a Christian and this is why the comments were offensive to me. I understand that everybody doesn't shares my believes, but if we want to move forward as a country, maybe we should start respecting each other in stead of ridiculing every one who's point of view we do not share. I truly hope this is never allowed again.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] tropika advertisement

The new Tropika (Gloria) advertisement shown in every ad break on SABC3 is so irritating that I feel like cancelling my tv license and selling my tv just so I don't have to be subjected to it again. I cannot understand what the producers of this ad were thinking. Who would want to hear that laugh and see the inside of the mouth making that noise? South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] application for tv licence

I applied for a TV licence on SABC's website on 6 March 2015. I did the application on SABC'S website and completed the online form. When I submit my application an error message was displayed on the screen but my credit card was debited with R265. I did not received a confirmation of registration from SABC. I pressed the back button and another R265 was debited from I account. I contacted SABC on the said day, gave all the requested information. I followed the issue up and spoke to Nicole September at SABC who apologized for the situation. The issue is still dragging at SABC, I was requested to send the confirmation of payment which I did and also send them my credit card statement which reflect the amounts that was deducted. This is totally unacceptable, I am a first time home owner and want to buy a new TV set but cant do it without my TV Licence.

Please assist me as this matter is very upsetting and disappointing.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] disatisfaction

Generations the legacy is not up to the standards that we expected it to be, according to me a soapie even if is new by now we should understand the story line and everything and it should have that vibe but this one is a bore. Move Generations to 18:30 slot and bring back skeem saam to 20:00 slot. My husband is paying his TV license and I believe we must get the value of the money we are paying.

I take huge offenice: just after springbok game, coach thanked God for their victory & your presenter ripped him off and mocked my God. He might be busy God but he is very much interested in prayers of his people. He had no right to do so on air. I expect a formal apology.if it was not for God we would not exist. I expect a formal apology. I bet if it was any other religion he would not have said anything.

In a country where job opportunity is a scarce yet SABC find the audacity to employ an individual across channels, I think it is inhumane & self center of people to approve such happening across a public platform, I am raising this matter as a caring tax payer that our tax money is being mis-used. #Annoyed

I feel that the series of SA's got talent is far below standard. I have seen the British one, and that is more structured than what we have. I mean, why jump from city to city? why not do it one city per week? This is baffling to me. I now see why some people do not support local tv reality series as much.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] scheduling

Swartwater is a great Afrikaans production, but every week since the soccer it has been at a different time on a different channel. Now there is talk of it moving to 21:30 on SABC 3 on a Wednesday. This chopping and changing is very disconcerting to us viewers and tv license payers. This series is amazing and I am addicted to it, but I end up watching most episodes on YouTube as the scheduling for it is so random. Your advertisers won't be happy to miss a whole population group watching Youtue as opposed to SABC. Please put Swartwater back to 19:30 on a Tuesday on SABC 2..

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] swartwater

Since the soccer, the TV programme Swartwater was moved from SABC 2 at 07:30 to SABC 3 at 08:00 (Tuesdays), the first Tuesday after the soccer we are waiting for our favourite programme only to go to bed disappointed because new programmes was scheduled. My question is "Is this because Swartwater is an excellent Afrikaans programme?" or is it plain ignorance from the Management of the SABC? This is the 20th year of the so called "new" South Africa and Afrikaans is one of the nine official languages of our Country but the one channel that provided for Afrikaans must also be changed! JUST BRING BACK "SWARTWATER" BECAUSE IT IS NOTNOT ONLY WHITE PEOPLE WATCHING THE PROGRAMME, IT IS ALL PEOPLE AND ACCORDING TO CONSTITUTION IT IIS OUR RIGHT TO ASK THISTHIS!

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] lying about moving the nominated for best series

During the soccer world cup the SABC lied to us about moving the Afrikaans drama Swartwater to odd times and channels (SABC 3 does not broadcast in the Afrikaans areas of the Cape Province). By doing so, they not only influenced the amount of viewers actually watching this drama, they also did it in such a way that we, who can see SABC3 did not know where to find Swartwater on our TV's. The actors did their utmost to try to keep us up to date. The one night the drama started very late and we nearly switched channels when it suddenly appeared on the screen, more than 5 minutes late, and with absolutely NO apologies. SABC did not bother to keep us up to date about the changes and we have struggled to find the channel and date for viewing our Afrikaans drama.

Meanwhile they where busy filling the slots where we were supposed to watch Swartwater with a thing called Mali. The soccer cup is over, but Swartwater moved to an odd slot (21h30) on SABC3 (low coverage in SA). This has serious repercussions for this series, since this series was nominated for a prize as the best Afrikaans drama on TV, competing with kykNet's Vallei van Sluiers. Being nominated shows that Swartwater was an excellent series. The future of this series (more seasons) will be affected seriously by the way SABC dealt with the Afrikaans drama slot as well as by keeping us in the dark with regard to the slots where we could see it.

It is unacceptable that the SABC ly to us. They were busy filling the Afrikaans slots while we were kept under the impression that it was due to the soccer. They also lied in the media about the changes after they were caught out.

Now we need to know even more - how on earth did it happen that an unknown Mali took the slot of the nominated Afrikaans drama Swartwater. It seems if this aspect of the whole debacle need to be investigated. How did they manage to steal the slot of another program?

We - who buy our TV's - have to pay TV-licences - even if we seldom look at the rubbish produced by the SABC. When we do find a valuable program such as Afrikaans drama, we support it. If this is the way the SABC wants to treat its paying customers, it is time to revisit the payment of TV-licences. Let them - who are provided for - pay for the services they get.

I can not trust this lying service provider any more. Since we do not have any rights according to these actions of this service provider, we (Afrikaans clients) will have to stop paying our TV-licences since we are rejected by this deceiving service provider. And then we will see if they can afford loosing ALL Afrikaans speaking customers. I do not think so! But it will be worth the effort to take action by refusing to pay TV licences. Before they can act against me for non-payment, they will have to proof that those who have stolen TV's in their homes, do pay their TV-licences.

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] ignore complaints of public

Sabc newschannels like to inform all south africans about protests against service delivery in limpopo, mpumalanga, northwest, free state, kwazulu natal, eastern cape and northern cape. The sabc will show these protests as headlines on all news channels and in all official languages. There were also several cases of protests against service delivery the past 5 years in the western cape, but the sabc does not always want to inform everybody about it. Something is very fishy and all south africans have the democratic right to know why? There were also many crimes, like murders, farm murders etc,. In the western cape which never made the headlines on all news channels and in all official languages. If it happen in the other provinces sabc news likes to inform everybody about it. We sent several complaints about this issue to the sabc, but they do not answer us. Is this how a national broadcaster treat their clients. We are very unhappy with the way in which the sabc handles our complaints.

I agree please move Swartwater back to it's original time slot. Because the new time schedule is inconvenient, and we as Afrikaans speaking people doesn't have a lot to look at these days, so why must we pay license fees if we can't even enjoy the little there is to watch! Marlize

Sabc moved swartwater from sabc 2 on tuesdays at 7:30 to wednesdays at 9:30 on sabc3. Does not have reception everywhere and was done without consultation of viewers.

How can you just move Swartwater round - then when you record it or Wednesdays, it is interrupted by other programmes? PUT IT BACK!

Hoekom moet ons TV lisensies betaal as dit julle houding is? SIT SWARTWATER TERUG OP DINSDAGAANDE OM 7:30NM - dis ten minste 'n tyd wat almal pas. Ek maak staat op die SABC se samewerking in die verband!

South African Broadcasting Corporation [SABC] refusing to refund incorrect payment made to sabc

I made a payment in error to SABC from my bank account. I emailed through all the necessary documentation. I called SABC this morning to ensure my email was received (reference number [protected]), I was told that the money would not be refunded to my bank account, even though proof of payment had been sent through, as the account name is in someone else name, so unless I send the account holders bank account details, the money I paid in error would no be refunded. How is this not theft on SABC's part?

I think the unnecesary shifting of the SABC TV Program "Swartwater" to channel SABC3 is causing loss for the film production company and shaking up the community who follows it. Please leave things as they were before this program gets binned. It will cause a loss in ROI for all not just the Producers. But it causes the followers to distrust the ability to lead the SABC effectively.

Why is "Swartwater" now being broadcast on SABC 3 at 21:30, is this yet another attempt by the SABC to remove "Afrikaans" from the SABC channels. You don't need a Grade 12 certificate or a degree from Unisa to know that the SABC is in shambles yet again. Get your act together or don't count on my TV license payment anymore.

I agree, we as Afrikaans speaking people feels neglected as all our programmes are being shifted to other channels, and SWARTWATER is the most amazing drama series SABC has broadcasted in a LOOOOOOONNNNGGGG time!
