The bank closed my account without no notice and much surprising that I made on time payments this is ridiculous. I would understand if I had a credit of thousands it was only $200…. Never will I ever open another card with this bank!
Credit card application
I applied for an account for the merchant Discount Tire. I have a 832 credit score and have all three of my credit bureau accounts frozen. I was told I would need to unfreeze one and return a call notifying Synchrony which one.
I did so and was only then notified that I would be required to submit both a government issued ID and then go through a 3-minute facial recognition ID process on a tablet or smartphone. I gave two other credit cards administered by Synchrony which have been paid in full every month there has ever been a balance and was told that doesn't matter. That both the photo ID and facial recognition profile would be required. I declined and will cancel my Lowes and AtHome credit accounts shortly.
Desired outcome: Issue the card without the nonsense of facial profiling, which wasn't required when I obtained either the Lowes or AtHome cards.

I am deaf and lip reading. I have a current balance is $280.23 from Pep Boys at Synchrony Bank. The credit card for Pep Boys is [protected]. I had received a letter from Synchrony Bank, This letter is to inform you that the above referenced account was sold to Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC on March 2/12/2022. I didn’t purchase anything for Credit Card # [protected] since a long ago. I never used that credit card of CareCredit. Which it has been charged me for $621.65 dollars. I think that, there were double passwords in Synchrony Bank. Please let me know what did I purchase from another company? I will appreciated any assistance you give me this matter. Thank you. Synchrony bank
Complaints are numerous.
First, their crappy website often returns an "Access Denied" message and you can't log on. I've complained to these [censored] about this problem, but they REFUSED to fix the problem.
Second, they refuse to remove a bogus (i.e., not my) phone number from their two-factor identification system, causing serious problems preventing me from logging onto my account.
Third, they failed to send the two-factor code to me via text despite three requests.
Fourth, when you call them, it's a huge pain in the [censored] to get a live person, and then, when you get one, they will lie to you, refuse to help, and hang up on you if you insist that they do help.
Fifth, their process to connect an outside account frequently malfunctions, without any explanation other than a phone number to call the outside institution, who will tell you that the problem is with Synchrony Bank.
Sixth, they say you can respond to a survey at the end of a phone call, but there is never an opportunity to do so, they just hang up and there is no opportunity to use the so-called survey to complain about being treated like [censored]!
Finally, after wasting an hour of your time, they will do NOTHING to compensate you for your loss of time or the aggravation they created.
Desired outcome: FIX ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS, AND TREAT PEOPLE WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT, AND DON'T HANG UP ON THEM!!!!!!!
TJX Rewards Mastercard
Have been dealing with card Co, since Nov. 2021 about scam usage on my card, customer service poor, getting a runaround for months, many attempts to resolve, last call supervisor hung up on me. I use the card frequently at my local stores in Nashua, NH mostly, Used the card for a purchase on Facebook, after the transaction the web site disappeared, no answer at the customer service number, email came back undeliverable, I was charged 5 times my original purchase. Card co. claims they didn't receive my documentation, closed the dispute, had to reopen, now waiting another 90 days to resolve. In the meantime I must pay the minimum payment on the disputed charge. Bad business practices involved. Will never use card again.
Desired outcome: I would like my account to be credited for the amount I was scammed.
Paypal Cashback Mastercard
I have had my Paypal Cashback Mastercard for a couple of years and I accured a significant amount of cashback dollars which I was saving for a specific purpose.
I pay off my balance in full each month without ever being late. On 2/9/22 they increased my credit limit as per my request. I then made a $3500 purchase on the card. A few days later they closed my account without notice. I found out the hard way while trying to make another purchase.
I called Syncrony and the rep advised me that yes the account was closed and I lost over $400 in cashback as the account has to be open to redeem. When I asked why the account was closed, all they would tell me was that I would get a letter.
I finally received the letter and all it states is that they have deemed me a high risk. How can I be good enough to raise my limit one week and a high risk the next? Also keeping the cahs back i have earned is so wrong...

Care Credit Card
you have the most unprofessional team ive ever seen. every single employee gives me different answers. instead of finding out relative information you leave me on hold for 30 min until i run out of time and have to hang up instead of addressing the real issue that in 2022 your staff cant send an email in a timely manor. ive been requesting a an updated balance letter since 8 am its now 2 am first i was told itd be about 10 min then i was toild they resent itll take about 24 hrs then i asked why and they said they could do it in 2 to 3 hours. calling for the 4th time and now i get told its 48 hrs. in the age of technology where you can collect three grand from me in minutes you cant send me an email? and then no one has any answers other than I dont know... your team sounds depressed on the phone not excited to be helping clients. they are not proactive at coming up with a resolution. and appear to be incompetent. EVERY other company ive requested this same document from had it sent within 5 mins. why is your team unable to send an email.

Synchrony bank closed my account with no warning. I always paid it of early never late. They also put a derogatory statement on credit bureau.
Desired outcome: A FORMAL APOLOGY A D REMOVAL OF STATEMENTS ON CREDIT BUREAU. OR RE-INSTATE MY CREDITWITH DOUBLE CREDIT LIMIT.
Closing all accounts
I had multiple accounts with Synchrony totally $78,000 in credit. I have had the cards for years. I had $200 in balances total when they closed ALL of my accounts with zero warning. I have never had a late payment, never had a large balance and pay everything off early. I called and got 2 people that barely spoke English that refused to help me and told me I was high risk. I have an almost 800 credit score so this is unbelievable. This dropped my credit score by dropping my age of credit and available credit. This is unacceptable business practices and I hope someone files a class action law suit.
Closed 9 credit cards
As the pandemic started synchrony bank decided to close all my credit cards that had never been late always paid full balances every month used all cards this caused my credit to plummet causing 5 more cards to close that were never late and always paid I had a 720 score until synchrony did this to me now I have 580 what are my options? This has ruined my life

In ability to divide payments on promotional services without calling Synchrony
I had a single surgery that involved three providers offering promotional interest free payment through Synchrony over 24 months. When a monthly payment is made a Synchrony rep has advised me that the full amount of the payment is applied to the promotion that was entered into the Synchrony system first. If I want my payment to be divided across all of the service providers whose bills will be due in full in the same month, I have to call Synchrony every month for 24 months to have that monthly minimum payment divided. Synchrony reps have told me there is no way to allocate my payment online across the service providers without calling every month. This is really poor customer service and makes no sense whatsoever.
Desired outcome: I want to be able to pay my bill online and allocate that minimum payment across the promotional service providers without having to call Synchrony every month for 24 months.
Double-charging my verizon account, eight months and four notices after notification.
Synchrony account closed by me. on 15 May 2021. Bank continued to charge my Verizon account, despite FOUR notices that I had been paying via American Express.
__Synchrony reported "delinquent" payments to the credit bureaus, each month -lowering my FICO score from the mid-800's to the mid-600's. Now, on 31 January 2022, they inform me that they have sold my account to Midland Credit Management.
Desired outcome: I'll leave that to a jury. I intend to file a deceptive trade practice lawsuit against Synchrony Bank.
Credit Card Dollar Limit.
This is without a doubt the worst bank / credit card company I have ever dealt with. Subsequent to my problems with this company I cancelled my B&H Photo credit card, my Adorama credit card and my American Tire credit card, all issued by Synchrony Bank. The problem started when B&H Photo emailed me that they were terminating their relationship with Synchrony Bank effective 1/17/22. I had this card for almost two years since B&H would credit the sales tax if you used their credit card. I then applied for a credit card with Adorama Photo which is also issued by Synchrony Bank and Adoroma has a similar sales tax deal (actually 5% back on card purchases). I was approved for $6000 but called them and asked for an increase to $9000 since the telescope I was buying was around $8100 not including tax. They said NO because I did not have enough credit experience. I told them that I have a 835 credit score, I own a million dollar home free and clear, have an income of $175,000 a year and I just closed my B&H Photo credit card with them that had a $10,000 line of credit and Synchrony owed me $8600 for a telescope ordered thru B&H that was never received due to Covid backorders. This was meaningless to the service rep and two supposed "managers" I spoke to. When I talked to the these minions you could tell that they could care less about my request and it was obvious that they have no ability of their own to make decisions, their just talking heads to what their computer system tells them. I truly hope this Bank fails or goes bankrupt because they are TERRIBLE!. They have no concept of CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Desired outcome: Synchrony will do nothing so there is no need to request anything from them except to wish them nothing but a terrible future in running their company and hope they fail.
Synchrony Bank Credit Cards
Unfortunately other credit cards we have switched over to Synchrony Bank. For no reason, they are drastically reducing our credit limits and when cards are paid off, they are closing them.
Other companies are raising my credit limit. Our income has gone up and we pay or bills on time and more than the minimum payments.
Desired outcome: Credit limits back to where they were and the other cards reactivated.
Closed my accounts
They closed all my accounts, all were paid on time and most had a zero balance. No idea why, no letters received or emails.
Your letter says:

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. My income is great, my credit is great and I pay my bills ON TIME

Honor promo Sam's Club gift card
I was a member for over four years and cancelled my membership due to two members not needing bulk products. I sign up under a promo and still waiting for my promo gift card for two months. No one from gift card department contact me as promised. I very disappointed and considering cancelling membership.
Desired outcome: Send my Sam's Card promo gift card of $45.00
Closed account
I received an email that my Lowe’s account was closed. I contacted the store and they said I was never derogative in my payment. They said it goes by credit score which is in synchrony‘s hands. Due to the pandemic my score did go down some but when you close an account it takes my score lower I was told I can re-apply but how do you reapply after you took all those points off of my score.
During Covid I thought companies were to work with the customers. But even though I had Covid and my husband had it we still made my payment. More than the original amount. It is sad that you would do that and ruin my credit score.

I think we should file a complaint with our State Attorney General's office to at least have them conduct an investigation. This is detrimental to people's credit and their lives.

Closed accounts
Synchrony closed my accounts that were in good standing. I got a letter saying high limits on card. I am the only one in my household working so I am using credit more because of pandemic. The closed accounts cause my credit score to drop. Not cool at all. All my accounts were good standing and completely paid off. The one I have limits were reduced causing my utilization to go high.
What should I do?

I purchase a bed at mattress firm on 0% for three years, well that's all fine and dandy but didn't realize it's on a synchrony credit card and they approved me $6000 which cost me $6000 for the mattress, was going to refinance my house but Credit report shows up as a maxed out credit card, dropped my credit score 60 points which enables me to refinance at any deal, called synchrony about upping my available credit $2000 in which I Told them I'm not using it but I need it to look like it's not a maxed out credit card, and they denied me, asked to talk to a supervisor and they had me on hold forever probably intentional. Mattress Firm should have been clear on the financing but synchrony could easily correct the problem by upping the available credit So it doesn't appear to look like a maxed out card.
