The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati In the last 5 years, I've used Basement Doctor for a foundation repair and crawl space sealing

In the last 5 years, I've used Basement Doctor for a foundation repair and crawl space sealing. Excellent work both times. They are on time, easy to communicate with, promptly return calls, and are very knowledgeable and experienced. On both jobs, their workers arrived on time, worked very hard and steadily until the jobs were completed. I was extremely impressed. They have a strong warranty on their work. I highly recommend Basement Doctor.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati An A+ experience

An A+ experience. I had a little bit of movement in a sunroom that the previous owner added to the house. Always on time with great communications. They gave me a few options to do the work and explained the advantages of each. They actually dug the holes by hand for 5 piers so I didn't have to remove the big wooden deck attached to the sunroom. That alone saved me a bunch of money and a lot of hassle. When the work started, the construction crew worked really hard, non-stop, until the job was done. They cleaned up really well. I'm really happy with Basement Doctor and I highly recommend this company.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati We hired Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to dryin our basement walls

We hired Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to dryin our basement walls. On the surface they did a great job, but what they failed to tell us was they hit our main sewer line and it filled up with debri, plastic, rock and concrete. When we opened our AirB&B about 30 days later, the first night the whole sewer system backed up. We contacted them immediately once figuring out the problem and they said they would fix it, we showed picture and video proof. They confirmed multiple times via text and email they would pay for the repairs and damages. To date we have dealt with *** and *** and have not received reimbursement for the repairs. At this point we are having to *** to get our reimbursement for damages/loss over $10,000. This company has turned into a nightmare to deal with, not owning up to their word and fixing their problems. As a contractor for 26 years, please do your due diligence, take my advice and do not do business with this company.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati I paid $3800 as a deposit for a $17000 job on 9/20

I paid $3800 as a deposit for a $17000 job on 9/20. They said the work would start within 6 weeks. After the 3-day cancellation period ended, the office finally called to schedule the installation for late December. I called on 11/14 to cancel the work. The receptionist said I would lose my deposit, but I was told to contact Roger. He called me back later that day. After 15 days of back and forth, Roger finally told me on 11/30 that Bobby would refund $2500, but I would lose $1300 because he already bought materials. I find it hard to believe the materials story since no permits were pulled for my property. I don't want a company whose owner takes 15 days to solve simple problems to work on my home. I want the rest of my money back. They haven't done any work on my property.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati Our sump pump motor stopped workin

Our sump pump motor stopped workin. We bought the house in Dec 2018 and were told the pump was installed in Aug 2018 and had a lifetime warranty. Have all the paperwork. Motors have failed multiple times and always covered under warranty. Today I am bein told that my warranty is not valid because there is a catch basin in the driveway. That was there when we bought the house also. I now have to pay $1000 for a new motor. They are tellin me they can see where motors have been replaced under warranty, but that these were mistakes by other technicians. I was showed notes that are "on my file" that one tehnician said in May that because of the catch basin my warranty was not valid, but I was not told this and I believe that motor was replaced free of charge. I feel as though they are changin the rules to suit them. The technician today is very nice, but apparently unable to do anything.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati I had an appointment scheduled with The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to re-tape the crawl space liner on August 24, from 12-2pm

I had an appointment scheduled with The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to re-tape the crawl space liner on August 24, from 12-2pm. The service manager, Dennis, told me about it. However, they didn't show up or even bother to call. I called them at 2:05, and they said they were running late and promised that someone would call me. But, surprise surprise, no call by 2:30. Frustrated, I decided to reach out to salesman Donny and left him a message. It was already 3pm, and still no call. So, I called the company again and spoke with Dennis, who was quite rude. He told me that the re-taping would be done in October when they install a sump pump because that's what the job card submitted in July said. The problem is, we had a conversation in August to schedule the re-taping. This tape coming apart has happened multiple times, causing groundwater to pool on top of the liner. But Dennis didn't even bother to apologize for wasting my time. He simply gave me a new date for the re-taping, which was August 30. I informed him that I already had another service scheduled for that day. He then asked if I wanted to cancel the sump pump installation, and I said yes. I also requested a refund of my $617.95 deposit, but Dennis told me that the owner denied it and claimed it was used for supplies.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati I had a transaction with The Basement Doctor on 7/29

I had a transaction with The Basement Doctor on 7/29. We hired them to partially condition our crawl space, and the total price was $12,185. We paid a deposit of $2,193.30. They were supposed to fully insulate and tape the foundation blocks, but they only covered some of them and taped about half. Additionally, they were supposed to install a $1800 dehumidifier in the center of the 2500 sq. ft. space, but instead, they left it by the door. They were also supposed to cover the entire crawl space with a mat, but they didn't.

During the process, they drilled a hole for the dehumidifier hose and accidentally broke a stone on the outside of the foundation. However, they didn't inform us about this issue. When we called the company to complain, they suggested sending the same three-man crew back, but we declined their offer. Instead, we proposed paying for the materials ourselves, and they quoted us a price of $5500. Since we had already paid them $3966, I agreed to pay the remaining difference. However, they refused and decided to keep our deposit. As a result, their poor workmanship is now costing us $7693.30. It's clear that they are dishonest individuals.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati I hired the Basement Doctor to put in piers around one corner of my house and fix a leakin' crack in my basement

I hired the Basement Doctor to put in piers around one corner of my house and fix a leakin' crack in my basement. When I talked to the first guy and signed the contract, I thought fixin' the crack would stop any more water from leakin' into my basement. They finished the work in the first week of March . But by March 30th, it was still leakin'. I called and asked the guy to email me 'cause I had pictures of the leak. At first, Jon said it was still leakin' and that they should fix the crack. But I didn't get a call back like we agreed. When I called again, they said Jon left but talked to Dennis. Since the crack ran along the outside wall and was cut by an inside wall, he said they didn't need to fix any other part of the crack 'cause the language was "ambiguous". He said the water was comin' up hydro-statically even though it obviously comes from the corner with the cracks. His solution was for me to pay another two grand for a sump pump.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati was already completed and they had no record of any unfinished work

was already completed and they had no record of any unfinished work. I was confused and frustrated because Tyler had clearly stated that the job was 90% completed and there were still tasks left to be done.

I decided to visit their office in person to discuss the issue. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who directed me to Tyler's office. I explained the situation to Tyler, who seemed surprised and apologized for the miscommunication. He assured me that he would personally oversee the completion of the remaining tasks and make sure everything was done correctly.

True to his word, Tyler and his crew returned to my property two weeks later as promised. They laid the pipe permanently and pushed the dirt back, just as Tyler had explained earlier. I was relieved to see that the job was finally completed to my satisfaction.

Overall, I am happy with the work done by Basement Doctor. Despite the initial confusion, they took responsibility for their mistake and made sure to finish the job properly. The crew was professional and efficient, and Tyler was responsive and attentive to my concerns.

The only downside was the lack of communication between the crew and the office, which led to the confusion in the first place. However, I appreciate that they addressed the issue promptly and resolved it to my satisfaction.

I would recommend Basement Doctor for their expertise in basement waterproofing and foundation repair. They may have had a hiccup in communication, but their commitment to customer satisfaction and quality workmanship shines through.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati The basement doctor came out to give us an estimate for foundation repair on 10/25

The basement doctor came out to give us an estimate for foundation repair on 10/25. They talked about our options and gave us an estimate for the work. They said we gotta make a deposit of $3100.00 to get on the schedule, so we did. They put us on the schedule for work starting on January 23rd. I'm really worried about our foundation, so even though we had like 3 days to cancel, we decided to go with another local company that could do the work in 3 weeks. I called to cancel on 10/31, which was like 4 business days after we paid, and they said I ain't getting my deposit back. The manager of the guy who came out hasn't contacted me yet. Also, they cashed my check on Wednesday October 26th, not giving me the 3 day grace period. I just want my deposit back so I can get my house fixed. I appreciate the Basement Dr. for coming out and giving us an estimate, but we chose another company to do the work. When you're spending this much money, it's only fair to get a few estimates before making a final decision.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati I hired Basement Doctor cuz I had water leakin' in my basement

I hired Basement Doctor cuz I had water leakin' in my basement. They said they could fix it by puttin' in a water proof system for 'bout $10,000. After I signed the contract but 'fore they started work, it rained and my basement got flooded. The water seemed to be comin' up from the middle of the floor, not the walls. I sent 'em pictures and they said their system would fix it. 'Bout 2 months later, they did the work. Then it rained again. My basement was completely flooded. No improvement whatsoever. They came back and told me I needed to buy water shield for my walls. Usually costs 'bout $5,000, but they gave me a deal for $2,800. I never seen water come in through my basement walls from rain, but they convinced me it would fix the problem this time. Even though I was doubtful, I agreed. More rain came. Basement flooded again, no improvement at all. The guy who sold me these fixes has quit now. I tried to reach the operations manager, but no response. Feels like they sold me the most profitable and easy solution for their company, without really diagnosin' the problem. Now I'm out a lotta money and the problem ain't fixed at all.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati We hired this company to fix a problem with bowing on a downstairs wall

We hired this company to fix a problem with bowing on a downstairs wall. We paid $15,000 for this work, and it was supposed to be done in 3 days. The crew showed up late and left early on more than one occasion. They didn't finish in the given time frame. On the second day of work, they sliced the internet cable. Since I work from home, it was tough for two days until we could restore the service. On Tuesday, they also uprooted bushes to access the work site. They were supposed to remove the bushes, but they didn't. On Wednesday, they damaged the siding with a backhoe. Since the siding is old, we won't be able to find a match and will have to replace it all. They came back the following Monday to finish the work and were paid at that time. The crew said they would return that week to remove the bushes, but they didn't. On Friday, I contacted the company and was told they were short-staffed (even though they managed to cash the check). They said they would come on Monday, Feb 14th, but they didn't show up again. I texted the company again, but got no response. The yard is showing the damage from having these bushes for so long (two weeks now). I want the company to remove the bushes and fix the damages.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati The salesman showed us a video of the system to be installed

The salesman showed us a video of the system to be installed. The video showed steel beams clamped together, supported by piers every 6 feet and saddles on each joist. We contacted the basement doctor because of beam/shim compression, so the saddles were important to us. But after the installation, we went under the house to check the work and found no saddles, no clamps, and even a small section where the beam segments didn't touch. We sent pictures to the salesman and he said he would talk to the install team. After a few days, we got a response saying that the team didn't think our home needed the clamps or saddles. We told them that sturdiness wasn't the issue, we bought the system because of those items. We asked for a response from the owner of the company. The salesman then said that he just found out that the system he showed us wasn't standard for our area (he did mention at the initial meeting that he usually works in Indiana) and because they couldn't get 12 foot beams, they installed 2 extra piers at no extra cost. We told them again that we still felt like we were sold one thing and given something different. We asked for a partial refund. The final response was no refund, but they assured us that they would stand behind their work and we still have the warranty. But honestly, we don't trust this company to do the right thing or deliver what they promise. The warranty doesn't mean much to us.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati On October 1, I hired The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to do some work at my home in ***

On October 1, I hired The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to do some work at my home in ***. The total cost of the project was $11,524.00. The work included fixing the structural foundation, waterproofing, and the crawl space. They offered me a finance option where I could pay in 18 months without any interest. They completed the foundation and crawl space work in December , but they never came back to finish the exterior work. This included tuck pointing the bricks, cleaning and sealing cracks on the front porch with NexusPro Joint Sealant and NexusPro Crack Repair, and replacing the concrete sidewalk that was removed. Now, whenever it rains heavily, water seeps into my basement in the area where the sidewalk should have been replaced. So far, I have paid a total of $6,524.00. I gave a $1,154.00 deposit to The Basement Doctor and paid $5,370.00 to the *** finance company. According to professionals who have given me estimates, there is still over $5,800.00 worth of work that needs to be done. This includes tuck pointing, joint sealing, crack repair, and replacing the concrete sidewalk. On top of that, I had to hire landscapers for $203.00 to fix the damage that The Basement Doctor caused to my established landscape. I also had to pay a concrete specialist $750.00 to fix the front porch stairs that they messed up. I have pictures and receipts to prove all of this. At this point, I want The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati to adjust my bill by $5,000.00. This is the current amount I owe without any interest, based on the *** Loan Program Promotion Expiration Date of ***.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati I had the Basement Doctors come and put in a egress window in my basement

I had the Basement Doctors come and put in a egress window in my basement. They finished the job on September 6th and 7th this year. After they were done, I noticed some issues that I think need to be fixed. To be fair, I didn't bring up my concerns with the crew while they were here. I noticed them later on. The next Monday, I tried to get in touch with my salesman but got his voicemail. On Tuesday, September 13th, I tried again and got his voicemail saying he would be out of the office for a while. He told me to call Julie in the office. I called her and she listened to me and said my salesman would be out until the beginning of October. She promised that someone would call me back before the end of the day. But I never got a call. Instead, I got an email asking me to fill out an online review, which I did, expressing my concerns. But I didn't get a response. I waited until October 3rd and called my salesman again. He got back to me on October 4th and I explained everything to him. He assured me that he would talk to the supervisors and get me answers to my questions and problems. Ten more days went by and still no response, so I called him again on October 14th. He got back to me later that day and said that someone else, I think his name was Michael, would be contacting me to help. But now it's October 24th and ten more days have passed with no response. All I want is to get what I paid for. When Donny was giving me the estimate for the project, he made a big deal about having a drain in the new egress window well. He said my other window, which was done by a different company years ago, didn't have one. It made sense to me to have a drain for protection against water problems. But my new window doesn't have a drain and I still don't know why. My other big concern is that the bottom step in the well feels unstable. Maybe it gets better once the ground settles, I don't know. I'm not an expert on basements or windows. I just want this job that I paid $7,000 for to be resolved.

The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati I hired the Basement Doctor to install a water management system when a basement leak happened

I hired the Basement Doctor to install a water management system when a basement leak happened. We signed the contract in Sept of 2021 and they did their first installation of the system in Nov of 2022. The AVP came out after I noticed the water was still coming into the basement and he determined the system wasn't pitched correctly and they would have to do the work again. After the second installation, there was still water/moisture coming up through their work even after several tries by them to "seal" the concrete. It had to be redone a third time. The AVP came back out and I was treated very unprofessionally. He was sure it was septic water. I had my septic system inspected by my sanitation company and they determined that there is no way it is septic water (both physically impossible by the layout of the land, plus inspecting the water). The AVP actually told me to "drink" the basement water if I was so confident. It was at this point I asked him to leave as things got unprofessional. The owner, Bobby M came out and promised a solution and admitted that the system wasn't installed properly as it didn't have the washouts installed so we could test the system out. He took samples of the water and said he was going to test them. After me having to call several times, he told me the water was septic. So I again had the sanitation company come out and they did an even more thorough inspection of the system and the water and determined that it is definitely not septic water. I also took a reading of the septic level before going on vacation, turned the water off, and came back 9 days later to the same water level which further proves there is no septic leak. After the owner, Bobby M promised to provide a solution and gave me his cell and asked that I use his number from now on, he doesn't respond to my phone calls and voice mails. The system has yet to be installed correctly, my basement still can't be refinished, and I paid $5711.50.
