Please take me off your mailing list! I've wrote in before to the Los Angeles office and spoke with others to no avail. I donated in the past till I was taken advantage of. I'm also in ministry and I've noticed this organization wast a lot of donors money on mass mail donor request even after they say no. The Salvation Army was taking unauthorized withdrawals from my bank account before. Can you please take my address and name off of your system? Others have promised they would. This should not take a court order. The Salvation Army has made a lot of people angry due to constant mail solicitation even after requesting to be removed. I hope you make a difference in my demand. Thanks for your help and God bless.
Desired outcome: REMOVE MY NAME AND ADDRESS FROM YOUR SYSTEM AND DO NOT SALE IT!!!
Rolex
During a recent online auction, there was a Rolex listed. Oftentimes, the person who physically sees it can see things that you cannot. After viewing the photos, I posted a question asking if what I was seeing was gold plating worn off. The response I received was very rude from a Salvation Army employee who just got over $300 for a $20 watch (see attached photos). I have purchased several items from the Salvation Army (in store and online), but this definitely makes me think twice about making another purchase from the online auction. You kind of rely on the employees posting to represent the product to the best of their knowledge.
I started by purchasing through Goodwill auctions, but then switched to the Salvation Army after I received a group of 4 dolls, one had 2 large cracks on the face that basically went from ear to ear. The second had a completely shattered leg. None of the pictures showed this and when I asked they pointed out that the small print said there might be some damage. They also reminded me it was for charity (I already give to the Lupus Foundation, I purchased an item with the expectation of receiving the item that was represented).
If they thought the Rolex wasn't real, it should have said Imitation Rolex in the title and it seems from their reply, they knew it wasn't real. It is reasonable to think the people bidding on it thought it might be real because the winning bid did not represent what someone would pay for a fake Rolex. If I saw an item that said Picasso Painting and with a little inscription saying "not authenticated", I would be a little disappointed with myself, but not mad if I received a decent replica. However, I would be pretty pissed if I received a poster and that's what this was.
Desired outcome: Obviously, the only thing I lost was my trust with the Salvation Army; I did not bid on the item. I guess I'm writing this because I just wanted to make someone aware of it.
How about this, Salvation LA CA has a shelter due to the pandemic, those items are most likely from residence token from staff. Please see complaint.
God bless and stay safe
complaining about employee
I was ridiculed while paying at the register by the female manager and a male employee. I am 73 yrs old and have never experienced such.
Was this another Asian hate action ? Because I am a Filipino myself.
I may go once a month to this store but this female employee is always there so she may be the manager and I can hear her loud voice ordering her subordinates.
She did not do what she did to me to the customer ahead of me.
Desired outcome: Please teach customer relations

Hello, I am an employee at the salvation army family store located in Detroit, MI, 48209. I feel uncomfortable working around one of my coworkers. She yells at me, embarrasses me in front of customers, has me doing both of our jobs and she is not the manager. I feel taken advantage of. Her tone of voice and words used are offensive and not very polite. I...

Me and my family have been salvation army advocates since then. I went in to donate some stuff my deceased wife had and I had no use for it. Gentleman instantly became aggressive and told me to get out. I got in my truck and left as he became belligerent yelling out profanities towards me. I couldn't believe what I was hearing out of his mouth. I called the commander at this location and told her my situation. She...

I have donated to the Salvation Army for decades. Now 2020 I have to jump through hoops to donate anything. I had 3 couches, one was leather, with 2 accent chairs and wanted to donate them. 1. I contacted the main office in my area. 2. Spoke to the person in charge of donations. 3. I had to take pictures of the couches and chairs to get the okay to donate, even though I said there were not stains or rips. I took pics of front and back. 4. I had to call back and got the ok about the furniture. 5. We dropped it off at the main facility.
Today, I went to our local Salvation Army. We were greeted by a worker who came over to our truck to look over our donations. 1. We had car ramps. No he said, they do not take them. 2. Then he asked, what else are you donating? I replied, "two dog beds, no rips or stains. a table metal saw." He stops me and ask, is it broken?"My husband replies"no."Worker ask," Is it from Harbor Freight Tools?"We say,"yes, and we are donating it because we bought another one that is more heavy duty." The worker gives us the ok. My husband and I unload the item, which are in bins, and put them on the truck. The workers then calls me over to take the bins back. He says they don't keep them.
My complaint is that all these items could have been sold. If I had sold each item for only a dollar each I would have made more than donating. My experiences have been more frustrating than pleasant. I am giving you items to make money. I don't need you acting like you're paying for them. I will not donate to your cause at all. I will look for a place that is more appreciative and less entitled.
Totally agree! I donated some stuff my deceased wife had and had the most aggressive behavior/attitude thrown at me. Never again will I donate (even cash in the kettles) again. don't even ask!
Employee break room.. Bed bugs
Couch in employee break room, has bed bugs. Nothing has been done to remove the couch. No exterminator, sprayed once with over the counter spray. Said the bags I used were too expensive to be using for no bed...

I went to the ARC in Phoenix and was there for 6 months, during which time I was able to get sober and remain sober. One day prior to my graduation, I was accused of possession of pornography which was absolutely untrue. I was immediately discharged, one day before my completion of the program. After getting back home and back to work, I began reaching out to the center, by letter, asking if they would please provide me with a statement of some kind, stating that I had been there for over 6 months time, without any alcohol or drug violations. I need to be able to show a judge proof that I did a 6 month program of abstinence from alcohol in order to be able to have my little girl back in my life again. You see all these advertisements by the Salvation Army that say how they want to help you reunite with your loved ones, etc. Well, I really need that help now and nobody there seems to care. I worked very hard while I was there. I did everything I was required to do. I did not possess the materials they accused me of, I don't even know what exactly they are referring to. But my guess is that it was something plucked out of the garbage piles we all had to walk past every day, where you would see the remains of that kind of thing, right out in the open. I did not do it, but I was blamed for it, and all my time and effort was shot down in an instant. It was a rough 6 months, they really work you to the bone, and getting sober is hard enough as it is. But what got me through was the thought that I would be able to have my daughter back in my life again. All I am asking for is a little note, an email, something that says I was in the center from this to that date, and that I remained sober the entire time. That is completely true, and sorely needed to progress in my goal. I was one day away from graduation. The allegation against me is not true. It is also not what I was there to accomplish. I was there to accomplish sobriety, and I was successful. I need documentation to that effect. Major Courtney Straton is ignoring my request but I won't stop reaching out until I get to the very top.
Most respectfully yours,
Raul Steven Luna

Employees not wearing masks property
I dropped off some clothing today at the donation center in Manassas, Virginia and saw two employees sporting mask beards. That renders the mask useless and may expose customers and other employees to COVID-19. Please instruct all employees to wear their masks safely and properly. Maybe you could set up a large donation box where donors can drive up without having contact with your employees.

I donate probably close to 1, 000 worth of merchandise over the years to salvation army. I buy a lot on ebay and get bored with my decor and donate it. I drop it off at the salvation army in homewood on halsted in il but it is closed due to the virus. Have no issues with that store. So that being closed I had 2 large items, a 4 x 6 sisal rug which I purchased new for 60 dollars are barely used it. I also had a nice 4 foot tall heavy wooden structure with a door and 5 or 6 shelves inside. It was in great condition. I drove to the donation center at the salvation army yesterday, 8-7-20 around 1:30. I am a 72 year old woman that carried these items out of my trunk alone. Then when I pulled out the rolled up rug which is a dark tan sisal color with a 1"black cotton band around it, the man stood there and said to me..." do you have a cat"I said no. He said" well there is hair on this rug". I was insulted. I was mad. The rug was perfect, no stains, no use really and maybe a few dog hairs on the black border which could easily be vacuumed if he gave a damm. And then I had to explain the good condition of the house shaped shelf unit because he just stood there and went over it with a fine tooth comb. I will never go there again. There are purple hearts, restoration ministry, unique and other thrift stores happy to accept my donations. It just upset me so much. Good luck to anyone else that donates at this location. Sorry I don't have a picture of the rug.
