TotalAV Review: Effective Anti-Virus Program with Hidden Renewal Fees
I bought this anti-virus program from TotalAV for a cool $20.00. It worked like a charm, keeping my computer safe from all sorts of nasty viruses and malware. However, after a year of use, I received an email that left me feeling a bit uneasy. Apparently, I was being billed a whopping $99.00 for a "subscription" to the program. I was taken aback by the exorbitant price and immediately called to cancel.
The person on the other end of the line informed me that the charges were already on my credit card website statement. I was livid. How could they charge me so much without my consent? I vehemently cancelled the subscription and demanded that all charges be dropped. However, I was informed that there would be a $19.99 fee for cancellation. I was outraged. This felt like another form of extortion to me.
I refused to pay the fee and angrily told the person on the phone that I would not stand for this kind of treatment. To my relief, I was told that all charges would be dropped. I received an email confirming this, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It's a shame because the program works really well, but the renewal fees were not made clear upfront.
If the renewal had been $20.00 again, I would not have hesitated to continue using the program. However, the fact that the renewal fee was so high makes me question the legitimacy of the company. It's a shame because the program itself is great, but the way they handle their billing leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, I would recommend TotalAV with caution. Just be sure to read the fine print before committing to anything.
TotalAV Review: Fake Reviews, Useless Software, and Suspicious Practices
I recently tried out TotalAV and I have to say, I was not impressed. While the website boasts over 10,000 positive reviews on Trustpilot, I quickly realized that these reviews were not genuine. In fact, they were all provided or endorsed by Trustpilot themselves.
As for the software, it was pretty useless. Many of the functions simply did not work and it failed to detect viruses that other free virus scanners like AVG and Avast were able to detect. I was also disappointed to find out that features like VPN had to be purchased at an additional cost, despite the website claiming that everything was included.
What's even more concerning is that the company is not actually based in the US as they claim, but rather in the UK. They also sell two other identical virus scanners under different names, PCProtect and ScanGuard, which is quite suspicious. It's hard to believe that TotalAV is the #1 virus scanner as their fake tests and reviews suggest.
Overall, I would advise anyone to stay away from any of the three "virus scanners" offered by this company. It's clear that they are nothing more than scammers trying to take advantage of unsuspecting customers.
TotalAV Review: Sneaky Renewal Policy and Late Billing
So, I signed up for TotalAV last year, or at least I think I did. I can't seem to find any record of it on any of our computers. But then, I received my credit card bill on a Friday afternoon and saw that I had been charged for a service that I didn't even know I had. I called them up first thing on Monday morning to inquire about it.
To my surprise, they told me that I had signed up for an annually renewing service last May. But that's odd because we didn't put any new computers in service in May that I'm aware of. Nevertheless, I requested to cancel the service immediately.
The thing is, they had already charged my credit card on 5/11/2020. And I only received the bill on 6/26/2020, which was already quite late. So, I called them up on 6/29/2020 to ask for a refund. They told me that they would prorate the annual fee from 5/11/2020 to 6/26/2020, which was a bit of a relief.
But here's the thing that really got me. Apparently, you are supposed to know that you have signed up for their service and cancel it before it renews, even if you don't know you have their service. That just seems a bit sneaky to me.
Overall, I would say that there are many other services out there with higher ratings. I recommend that everyone use one of them instead of TotalAV.
TotalAV Review: Terrible Experience and Untrustworthy Company - Avoid at All Costs
TotalAV is a company that I would not recommend to anyone. My experience with them was terrible, and I would like to share it with you. I had a subscription with them that was supposed to end in December 2022. When I tried to renew it, I was offered a discount of $29.99 for the year. I thought it was a good deal, so I accepted it and provided my bank information.
The next day, my bank called me to confirm a withdrawal of $159 from TotalAV. I was shocked and told them to reject it immediately. I called TotalAV to find out what was going on, and a representative told me that I needed to pay $159 despite the discount I was offered. I was furious and demanded an explanation.
I emailed TotalAV and received apologies and more offers, but I refused them all. The last offer was for $9.95 a month, which I also declined. I told them to close my account, but in late January 2023, I received an email stating that I hadn't loaded the program. I responded by stating that my account was closed.
In February 2023, they attempted to take $9.95 from my account, but my bank reversed the charge. Today, March 13th, there is another $9.95 charge pending, and I am notifying my bank to close the current debit card as the charge is fraudulent.
Overall, my experience with TotalAV was terrible, and I would not recommend them to anyone. They are not trustworthy and will try to charge you more than what you agreed to. Please avoid this company at all costs.
TotalAV Review: Aggressive Popups, Unhelpful Customer Service, and a Virus Infection
I recently tried out TotalAV for my computer's antivirus protection. They had three different options to choose from, and I decided to go with the middle upgrade that didn't include popup protection. However, I soon found myself bombarded with endless popups trying to sell me additional features, even though I had turned off push ads.
To make matters worse, I discovered that I had been charged twice for the upgrade. I contacted TotalAV to request a refund for the extra charge, but they claimed that I had upgraded to the unlimited devices plan. I explained that I didn't want or need that plan and asked them to please refund me. Unfortunately, they refused to refund the extra charge.
I then turned to my bank for help with the extra charge, but soon after my antivirus protection was cancelled altogether. I had to ask my bank to help with all of the charges. Frustrated and disappointed, I decided to uninstall TotalAV from my computer.
Unfortunately, after uninstalling TotalAV, my computer was infected with a virus and shut down. When I restarted my computer and did a backup, I discovered that all of my files had been destroyed except for the TotalAV app, which I had to uninstall again. I lost all of my pictures, videos, and documents.
This experience has taught me a valuable lesson: never trust TotalAV for antivirus protection. Their constant popups and aggressive sales tactics are annoying, and their customer service is unhelpful. I would strongly advise anyone considering TotalAV to look elsewhere for their antivirus needs.
TotalAV Review: Disappointing Virus Protection and Nonexistent Customer Support
TotalAV is a company that promises to offer total software virus protection, safe web browsing, and VPN services. However, my experience with them has been nothing but disappointing. I would not recommend trusting your phones, tablets, laptops, or any other device to this company.
Despite their claims of providing virus protection, I have found that spam emails continue to flood my Inbox, and not even the Junk file can keep them at bay. Even when I activate WebShield on my devices, it only stays active for a day or two, if I'm lucky, before it switches off again.
But the worst part of my experience with TotalAV has been trying to contact them. They have no email address listed on their website, no telephone number, and no online chat facility, despite claiming to offer 24/7 support. At the bottom of their website, they say "Need Help? Check out our Knowledge Base, Video Guides or Contact us 24/7 >", but in reality, it seems impossible to get in touch with them.
I have tried to send several emails to them regarding the cancellation of my account, using addresses that they have used in the past to send me offers to stay with them at a lower price. However, every time I send an email, I receive an automated response directing me to their website and saying that the address is unmonitored by their staff.
In my opinion, TotalAV is not worth bothering with. Even a free anti-virus system would be better than wasting your money on their services. So, if you're looking for reliable virus protection and customer support, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Mixed Results with TotalAV: A Review of Anti-Virus Software on Windows 11
I recently decided to give TotalAV a try on my new HP computer with the dreaded Windows 11 operating system. I was hesitant at first, but a recommendation from Kim Kommando gave me the confidence to give it a shot.
The initial process was a bit frustrating, as I was bombarded with one sales pitch after another. However, once I got through that, things progressed smoothly. After the first scan, I was asked if I wanted to remove all tracking cookies. Of course, I did! However, when I was told to close one web page and Microsoft Edge, I ran into a bit of trouble.
I wasn't using the Edge browser, so I was refused the option to remove tracking cookies. I tried to close the browser as instructed, but it kept repeating my attempts to close Microsoft Edge, which I wasn't even using! I then tried to remove it altogether from my installed programs, but I found out that it cannot be removed or disabled. This was frustrating because it meant that I couldn't remove tracking cookies as I had hoped.
In conclusion, I'm not sure if TotalAV is able to complete a full service to remove tracking cookies, or if Microsoft's "spy" programs are in total control regardless of any promises from any anti-virus software company. It's worth noting that with Windows 11, the Microsoft Edge browser isn't the only invasive software program that cannot be removed, changed, or disabled.
Overall, I think TotalAV is a decent anti-virus software, but it's not perfect. The sales pitches can be overwhelming, and the tracking cookie removal process didn't work for me. However, it did catch some potential threats during the scan, so I feel a bit more secure with it installed on my computer.
TotalAV Review: Great Program with Some Minor Issues
I really like this virus scan program from TotalAV. However, I have encountered a few problems with it. Firstly, it claims to reload every time I start my computer, but it doesn't always do so. This can be a bit frustrating at times. Secondly, it doesn't always save my passwords, which can be a bit of a hassle. I thought I had purchased the real-time virus scan, but it doesn't seem to be working as it should.
Despite these issues, I have found that TotalAV is a great program overall. I recently discovered how to clear my cache, but I have to turn off all of my devices first, or it won't work. Additionally, it sometimes sees my Google Chrome as open, which can be a bit confusing.
One thing that I really appreciate about TotalAV is that my junk scan just went off without a hitch. I am also interested in trying out the VPN, but I don't have the money for it yet. I hope that I will be able to try it out soon, as it would be a great addition to my security setup.
I received TotalAV as a Christmas gift last year, and I am very happy to have it. I had to get rid of Kaspersky, which was corrupt on all levels according to a note that flashed on my computer. I'm not sure how that happened, but I'm glad that I have a new program that works well.
In the coming year, I am hoping to add some services and devices to my TotalAV plan. I have a cellular phone and a Kindle Fire tablet, and it would be great to have TotalAV on all of my devices. I hope that this review will be helpful to someone who is considering purchasing TotalAV.
One thing to note is that I recently discovered that I have a virus quarantined in my audio system, which now won't work. Additionally, my camera is also not functioning properly. However, I don't believe that this is the fault of TotalAV, as it has been working well in other areas. Overall, I would definitely recommend TotalAV for your home security needs.
Total AV Review: Reliable Anti-Virus Program with Great Features and Easy-to-Use VPN Tool
Total AV is a great program that I stumbled upon while browsing the internet. At first, I was skeptical because I thought it was just another annoying pop-up ad. However, after reading the page, I realized that it was a free anti-virus, malware, and spyware protection program that claimed to be one of the best in the market. I decided to download the free version and was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked.
Before using Total AV, I had been relying on Window's Defender or Window's Security for my protection. However, I found that these programs made my computer run incredibly slow. I had been searching for a better alternative for a while, and I finally found it with Total AV. I was so impressed with the free version that I decided to upgrade to the Premium version, which only cost $29.99 per year. The Premium version came with a bunch of extra features that I found to be very useful.
Even after upgrading to the Premium version, there are still some add-ons that are unavailable. However, I believe that this is for a good reason. Total AV also offers a VPN tool, which I found to be extremely simple to use. I have always found VPNs to be a bit confusing to set up, but Total AV's VPN tool made it very easy. The initial setup page for the VPN is shown in the picture that I have included. Right now, the VPN is on sale for 50% off for $50 for the first year. Once I have all my business software and documents on my devices, I will definitely be making the purchase for the VPN.
Another add-on to the Premium version is Identity Protection for your entire computer, passwords, bank accounts, and anything else with your ID that could be at risk. If your devices are without an identity protection program, I highly recommend using Total AV. It is worth every penny.
Overall, I am very happy with Total AV. It has provided me with excellent protection against viruses, malware, and spyware. The Premium version comes with a lot of extra features that are very useful, and the VPN tool is incredibly easy to use. If you are looking for a reliable anti-virus program, I highly recommend Total AV.
TotalAV Review: A Prime Example of Scammers in Need of Consumer Protection
This company, TotalAV, is a prime example of why consumer protection against scammers is long overdue. My experience with them was absolutely dreadful, and I feel compelled to share it with every integrity-driven human in the world. You know, the large majority of us who don't sit there plotting to scam decent, principle-driven humans out of their hard-earned cash.
I needed to clear my Mac, and I hadn't. In a hurry, I saw their oh-so-helpful ad offering a free clean-up of my Mac. You know the one - where you try it and if it works, you think, "Hmm, great, yes, I will sign up and carry on with this lot." Oh no, you don't. Don't start thinking like a humanly functioning decent person. Get your eyes out in the back of your head and start looking over your shoulder.
I tried the trial, clicked the odd harmless-looking button, and so on. Before I knew it, in a flash, just like that, I had £22 removed from my account. Busy and working, I thought to myself, "Oh well, that's cheaper/faster than my computer guy nipping over and cleaning it up for me." I have no recall of actually agreeing to anything. Silly, silly, silly me.
Then, happening to check PayPal a few days later, I noticed that they not only took the £22, which, frankly, I have no recall of actually agreeing to, and for the life of me, what that was for, the gods only know - they went and stuck their vile, grasping little computerized hands into my account and removed another £40 or more. I think it was £43.
Daylight robbers. Exponentially worsened by the fact that I didn't authorize payment to them. Ha. An email, I thought to myself. Let them know I'm onto them and ask for the money back. My immediate thought was, "Thank God I've been at home and working; otherwise, it would've been months potentially, and how much would they have whipped out by then? Ugh."
I got no reply yet the usual standardized "we have your email..." ticket - and the gall of using the pandemic as a reason as to why they are SO BUSY; yeah, busy whipping money out of accounts they have absolutely NO AUTHORITY to do so - and for what - your guess is as good as mine.
Finally, days later, having asked for a date and details as to where the refund will go, they have the temerity to reply saying I have bought something I have ZERO PROOF of - some sort of mega security safety net for my Mac. Well, that's just a bunch of words as far as I can see as I'm still getting all the usual spam and nonsense, and nothing has changed, bar me clearing out my Mac at my end, which has made a difference.
They even get the figure wrong. PayPal showed me they had removed £22 and then another £42, i.e., a total of £64 or thereabouts; they don't mention this in the email - the figure they cite bears no resemblance to the figure on my PayPal account. So they can't even get the facts right - they don't address how they managed to take it without my knowing authority - and then - they try and persuade me to stay. AFTER I HAVE HAD A CONFIRMATION EMAIL SAYING THAT I HAVE UNINSTALLED IT, days before... IE they can not even be bothered to look at the account properly.
You couldn't make it up. They actually make it worse by personally replying because for anyone anywhere to assume the human race is as stupid as they must be assuming is surely a human rights infringement. Oh sure - OK then - yeah, why not? You just took cash out of an account I didn't knowingly authorize - for what I don't know - arguably making my Mac worse - and then - when you can be bothered to reply - you want me to carry on building this wonderful relationship with your brand. Why not. Do you want me to get my salary put straight into your bank account? Yeah - I thought so - great idea... But you don't need my authority for that, do you? No, I didn't think so... You've probably done it already... and got to my credit cards too, maybe? Why not...?
I also cleared my Mac myself - deleting everything I needed to and clearing stacks of GB - so their alleged service did absolutely nothing bar kick me up the butt and get me to do it myself because it actually seemed to make the issues ever worse...
I will be taking this one to consumer broadcasters, social media, etc., and Trading Standards in the US - whatever that body is. I can only imagine this must must must be a US company. Reprehensible on every level and the sort of company you would throw a party for - over its closing down.
You've been warned. This lot is the least transparent and biggest scammers I have ever come across. By a million miles.
I shall return here when they refund me. They had better refund me, but with a full explanation as to HOW they got the money from my account.
I have written 'NONE' in the box below - where it asks 'products used?' - because IF - and this is the biggest IF of my life - IF anything that actually does anything other than scam money out of my account - did land as a product, I have NOT ONE JOT OF PROOF OR EVIDENCE - in fact - it made my computer worse, the moment I agreed to a 'free' ha ha ha - trial.

Refund of subscription of €121.77
I was a customer and cancelled my account in 2023. My name is Michael Finlay and my id is : [protected]
An amount of €121.77 has been paid by Pay pal to you and after a lengthy it looks like you have applied for it on a auto renewal. Very cheeky. Please refund same and obviously cancel the auto renewal, which I would have assumed would have stopped when I cancelled the subscription last year.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in anticipation

Fraud charges
Someone at this facility has been using my card to purchase miscellaneous items. I purchased total Av in December of 2023. I ordered it the year before too. As soon as I ordered it, someone from your company has been using my card to purchase items. I'm not going to use your services anymore, ever again! I spoke with my bank today about all the charges and where they came from! I'm not going to fill out the claim stuff you want at the bottom because my bank will recover all of the charges.
I suggest you find out who's committing fraud within your company!

ISSUE, unable to use Total AV-QR scan feature on my iPhone. 1st attempt requested access to photos - granted. Clicked on scan - blank screen. All other attempts - immediately returned to iPhone home screen.
Contrary to the advice I received, I do have any other anti-virus programs on my iPhone. My iPhone has the latest updates installed.
Does this feature work or is it just a scam to attract buyers?
If it is supposed to work, then I would like to know how to get it to work.
I also suggest that you allocate more time for chat assistance, & for the replies from customers. I was given 2 minutes to reply before chat terminated, but I had to wait for more than 2 minutes before I was given the wrong advice.

Renewal of subscription for Antivirus
TotalAV software naming renewal of subscription. This company makes it so hard to get a refund. Plus the renewal is expensive and this blew our budget which has stressed me out. As I have sent 3 emails to the company and no response but the automated one...I have given up and not happy with the service. I will not be using this service again or renewing it in the future. Refund I require is full refund of $229. Not happy with this.

My son used NY laptop and apparently was watching adult content. He said the total av pop up came up and he couldn't get it off the screen and he didn't want me to find oyr what he was doing. This happened in the 24th and I didn't know anything till a payment showed up on my bank account on the 27th for £119.00 which as you cab imagine was a shock as usually I get a message to confirm any payment etc? His does this happen?
Claimed loss: £119.00
Desired outcome: A refund and cancellation as I didn't authorise this or understand how this could happen?
Not giving me a refund on my cancellation and then impossible to contact after agreeing to lower fee and refund of $95 not in my account as promised.
I have been with Total AV for two years and have no complaint of the protection provided. My complaint is wanting to cancel my account on 5th October 2023. I had an online help chat with an operator from TotalAV who advised that within an hour I would receive an email confirming that the new premium would be I think about $25 and the refund would be $95 into my account. Neither of which has happened and I can't re-contact to sort it out. It says I need to verify and an email has been sent but it wasn't and asking them to resend didn't happen. I need this refund desperately but I am not getting it or email of satisfaction.
Desired outcome: Due to all the trouble I have been having I want my full refund of $119 and no more to do with Total AV.
Getting billed after I had cancelled my subscription.
Good morning,
I woke to find a €170 transaction ready to leave my VISA account. When I checked my email I saw an invoice for said amount, sent yesterday 20th October.
Last year I cancelled my subscription, based on the fact that it was too expensive.
You got back to me immediately with a significantly reduced offer, which I signed up to for the year. You wanted my custom. I never committed to continuing my subscription.
I would like this transaction reversed, and my subscription with you cancelled in full please.
Kind regards,
Aoife Rodgers
Desired outcome: Money returned to my VISA. Subscription cancelled.

Unauthorized auto-renewal of totalav internet security subscription
Date: 09/30/23
Time: 10:25 am
Very difficult to get someone on the phone from TAV customer support. The issue was that I never authorized an automatic renewal on any subscription I may have had in the past (as far as I know I have no active subscription). I requested a refund. I was denied. I said no one alerted me that the charge was to be made, I never used it, and will not pay for something that I haven't used. I was offered a partial refund. I declined, saying I was due a full $159.00 refund. The agent said he was going to immediately send a link to get the complete refund as soon as our call was over. That did not happen. It's been over an hour since the call ended.

charge. Begs the question - I subscribed to TotalAV for one year as I thought
I would be advised of the renewal cost. In my view Cad$169 is an exhorbitant price for this service and TotalAV should not renew service without explanation.
Frankly I find this "sneaky". Being a retired Senior I am sensitive to this type of (in my view) underhanded business method
Desired outcome: Renew my TotalAV coverage (on a yearly optional basis) at a reasonable annual fee (say CAD $60m- $80 per year) If this cannot be done then please cancel my coverage and provide appropriate refund.
Total av antivirus
I purchased Total AV antivirus on 23rd July 2023. I received an email confirming purchase and a link to download. I went through the routine and thought I had activated the software but when I check to see if I am covered notices pop up telling me my subscription has expired. I have tried several times since with the same outcome. I have chatted to a support representative who gave complicated details on how to rectify, but with no end result.
Everything about total av is minefield, and you just go around in circles. I wish to have a refund and cancel my subscription.
I think these cheap deals are just a con hoping that you renew at the full subscription. Deal cost was £19.00 which I am claiming back.
Desired outcome: Refund
Totalav refund issue
I cannot believe how terrible their customer service is. Suprisingly I am charged for $200 CAD for the new year renewal term. I contacted to their customer service for full refund as I asked for cancellation and their repond to me was ridiculus. I have been waiting for 22 days to get the full refund and guess what, they only refunded half of it. I am so...

Thought I'd cancel my renewal and request refund of payment by direct debit but to my horror I have realised it isn't possible. TotalAV advise they will forward verification required to your email address for use but it never arrives. So, recently they took most of my meagre pension money and there's not a thing I can do about it. Lawrie Bedford at [protected]@outlook.com
Desired outcome: Refund and cancellation
TotalAV refund policy
I have been trying to cancel my subscription after being misled in their product, I was charged £9:95 which I was expecting as a annual subscription only to be told after payment was made that it was a monthly payment! As per there terms and conditions I activated the cancellation policy, which they said was done, I am now being told that it’s still a monthly subscription fee to pay, and every time I log in it states the account is active and I have to cancel it! This goes on every time I log in!
I spoke to a nightmare live chat who wouldn’t take no for a answer and kept trying to sell the product cheaper which after 9 times of saying I wish to cancel they said a cancellation email has been sent! No email either in my inbox or spam folder.
Desired outcome: Cancel my subscription with no further charges
