Travel up has the worst customer service ever. They will take your money immediately. But when you need after sale support. They don't help. They pretend to try help but when you dig deeper with thexaifl8ne you find they have lied and its proven They have not even tried. Honestly do not use its not worth it go elsewhere even if you have to spend a little more you will get better service with another agency. Stay away from travel up.
Recommendation: DO NOT USE
Complete Scam
Horrible customer service and a complete scam. We booked flights back home on Copa Airlines and TravelUp took our $1300 but did not pay Copa. After calling and emailing numerous times we were lied to repeatedly and told that the issue had been resolved despite Copa's site still showing nonpayment by TravelUp. When we arrived at the airport, our worst fears were realized when the Copa agent confirmed that no payment had been received and that the "ticket numbers" we were issued were invalid. Tried calling TravelUp again from the airport and they denied even having a reservation in our name and hung up on us. Had to rebook $2700 tickets to get home on top of the $1300 we had already paid TravelUp. Have already put the charge in dispute with our bank and are reporting TravelUp to every regulatory agency in the US and the UK in addition to filing claims against them. A complete nightmare, do fall victim to their scam as we did! Avoid like the plague!
Terrible Experience with TravelUp: Do Not Book with Them!
TravelUp is a travel booking website that I would not recommend to anyone. My experience with them was absolutely terrible, and I would advise anyone to book directly with the airline instead. The insurance or special gold care package that you pay extra for will not make any difference, and you will not have a stress-free experience if anything changes.
I booked a flight to Australia with my partner earlier this year, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we had saved up for for years. However, our flights were disappointing from the start. We flew with Royal Brunei, and when we checked in, we were told that the more expensive flights we had booked would have two stopovers rather than one. We were not informed of this until we arrived, and the flight time had also changed. The customer service was very poor, and others in the queue and on the plane knew about the changes because Royal Brunei had sent an email directly to them. However, TravelUp did not inform us of these changes.
The flight back was even worse. We checked in online and arrived at the airport four hours in advance. However, we could not find our check-in deck on the board, and we eventually had to speak to an employee of Melbourne airport to find out what was going on. She informed us that the flight time had changed four hours earlier, and we had missed our flight. We searched emails and online to find out what was going on, and we eventually found an email from TravelUp with the date of our departing flight in the subject line. However, in tiny print, there was a flight change that we had missed. TravelUp did not reissue our tickets or contact us to let us know about the change.
We had to pay ?750 each for a new ticket, which ruined our once-in-a-lifetime holiday. When we eventually got in touch with TravelUp, they said that we had to have accepted the change to get new tickets. However, we were not reached out to, and if you don't know about the change, they don't care and will let you be stranded. They will not attempt to make sure their customers are well looked after at all. They said they would look into it and get back to us, but we have not heard from them since.
We have emailed the customer service section on their website approximately 25 times since February 23, but we have not received a response. We contacted the airline, and they said they had refunded TravelUp the money for the old flights as TravelUp never issued us new tickets. We needed to claim the money back through them, but we have not heard back from TravelUp.
I am down ?1,500 due to them, and I have had no contact from customer service. This has been a very stressful experience, and it's May now, and I'm still trying to get it sorted. I cannot stress enough that you should not book with TravelUp and should go through the airlines directly.
I once had a terrible experience at a restaurant and wished there was a 0 star button to accurately reflect my disappointment in the service and
As a seasoned traveler, I am always cautious when booking hotels online. Therefore, I reserved a hotel room in Miami two months in advance of my birthday trip and called the hotel to confirm my reservation one month prior to my arrival. Little did I know that I was in for a harrowing experience.
Upon reaching the hotel, I received disparaging news that my reservation had been canceled and what’s worse, TravelUp, the booking platform that I had used, had failed to pay the hotel. The hotel staff showed me an email indicating that they had already communicated about the cancellation to TravelUp, but the company had failed to respond.
To resolve the issue, I took the liberty of calling the customer service department for three hours, but unfortunately, the reservation department never picked up the phone. The other departments claimed helplessness and were unable to assist me in finding an alternative. As a result, we had to search for other accommodation but found little luck as all the hotels were either fully booked or too expensive due to an ongoing boxing game in the area. Eventually, we had to settle for a hostel and shared a room with two strangers.
The next day, TravelUp's customer service finally answered and informed me that they could act only as intermediaries. Still, they would try to remedy the situation by "chasing their supplier" to get me a refund. Disappointed, I went through the agony of reading other customers' similar ordeals in their reviews and wondered how TravelUp could still be in business.
To make matters worse, I spent 17 gruelling days making follow-up calls to request my refund while explaining my traumatic experience each time I contacted TravelUp. Only after I threatened legal action that I received the refund, after wasting time and so much energy in the process.
In conclusion, my experience with TravelUp was nothing short of a nightmare, and I strongly advise anyone listening to avoid them like the plague.
My Experience with TravelUp: Why I Will Never Use Them
In my recent experience with Travel Up, I must say that it has been incredibly stressful and disappointing, to say the least. Despite buying a round trip ticket for my brother from New York to Dublin last December, he unfortunately developed COVID on the morning of the flight. I was understandably worried that changing the flight date would be impossible, however, the woman I spoke to was extremely helpful and assured me that it was not a problem. She promptly changed the flight for me and advised that when my brother decided to go again, I could simply inform them via email.
Subsequently, my brother received permission to take two weeks off from work from the 13th to the 29th of March, so we emailed Travel Up as advised, approximately two weeks ago. Initially, they seemed responsive and assured us that they would get the matter sorted out by contacting my brother either later that day or the following day. However, we have not received any updates since then, despite numerous attempts to contact them via email. They have only been sending us uninformative emails acknowledging receipt of our emails, but with no information on how they plan to resolve the issue.
The frustration and stress of having to keep calling them every time with each phone call leaving us on hold for an hour and a half to two hours have been overwhelming. Sadly, this has caused my brother to be in tears as he is scheduled to fly in four days, and we may now have to spend $700 on an alternative flight with Aer Lingus.
My personal experience with Travel Up has led me to question their business practices. Their customer service is woefully inadequate, and I cannot recommend this airline. The entire experience has been a complete mess, and I am left feeling that this could be nothing less than a scam. It's inexcusable for a reputable airline to treat its customers in such a shockingly unacceptable manner. I would advise anyone looking for an airline to think twice before using Travel Up.
My Terrible Experience with Travelup: Warning Against Booking with
My experience with TravelUp during the COVID-19 pandemic has been disappointing, to say the least. As a frequent traveler, I had high hopes for this company, but their manipulative tactics and lack of ethical business practices have left me feeling unsatisfied.
After countless attempts to contact TravelUp, I finally spoke with a representative who attempted to convince me to cancel my non-refundable hotel reservation prior to its start date. This tactic was not only unhelpful but also unethical. As a consumer, it is my right to receive a refund for events beyond my control, such as a global pandemic. I immediately contacted my credit card company and successfully fought the charge, resulting in a full refund.
Two months later, I received an email from TravelUp offering to refund 75% of the original hotel charge. However, in order to receive this refund, I would need to contact my credit card company and reverse the reversal of their charge. This request is not only frustrating but also insulting. I received full credit for the hotel bill and to suggest that I reverse this refund in exchange for only 75% of my original payment is unacceptable.
In my opinion, TravelUp has demonstrated manipulative and unethical behavior. As a consumer, it is important to stand up for our rights and not allow companies like TravelUp to take advantage of us during global crises. I suggest that others be cautious when dealing with travel agencies during these uncertain times and research companies' ethical practices before booking with them.
Experiencing Deception: Learning to Navigate the World of
My experience with Travelup was nothing short of a nightmare. The situation that unfolded before us was incredulous, and it is with grave consideration that I strongly warn against making any reservations with this company.
In anticipation of the New Year, we made reservations with Travelup, for a hotel that we had frequented numerous times previously. Our interactions with Samantha from Travelup, who repeatedly confirmed our booking, provided us with a false sense of security. However, when we attempted to communicate with the hotel directly, we were warned that the hotel had been sold out for months. After much correspondence between us and Samantha, she finally admitted that there was no room available- a discovery that came long after we had already spent five thousand dollars!
To add insult to injury, the company attempted to pacify us with replacements, such as a $300 a night room, which they dubbed an upgrade. This grossly inappropriate endeavor made apparent just how untrustworthy and unprofessional Travelup is, and left us questioning the company’s integrity.
Personally, I would strongly advise anyone to stay clear of this company. Our experience revealed Travelup to be deceitful and unscrupulous, and furthermore, they refused to refund our tickets. Consequently, we have embarked on legal action against them. These people ought not to be able to operate, and I hope that my experience can be a warning to others.
My Personal Experience with a Terrible Product or
I had an incredibly negative experience with the online travel agency Travel Up, which has left me disheartened and out-of-pocket. Despite booking three tickets for myself and my two children at the cost of ?1,100 on 19 August, the company made a careless mistake by inputting my daughter's surname incorrectly. I immediately contacted them to rectify the issue, but they failed to respond to my emails or assist me in any meaningful way.
It was only after four attempts at communication that I finally received any sort of response from Travel Up, and by that time it was too late to make the necessary changes. When I attempted to call their customer service department, I was treated rudely and had the phone hung up on me more than once.
Sadly, I have come to the conclusion that Travel Up's lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer service has left me and my family severely disappointed. In contrast, when I contacted Iberia airlines directly they were professional and accommodating, providing helpful clarification on what steps should be taken.
I strongly advise you to avoid using Travel Up for any future travel bookings. Their lack of responsiveness and customer care is representative of a company that has little interest in resolving booking errors or seeking fair and equitable solutions for its customers. It is not in their best interest to amend mistakes or address travel booking concerns, as they appear to prioritize generating additional revenue through cancelled bookings and re-booking fees.
Ultimately, our family was unable to travel because I could not leave my daughter behind. I lost my money and my children missed out on a much-anticipated trip. In conclusion, I urge travellers to seek out reputable travel companies that value transparency, customer satisfaction, and accountability--qualities that Travel Up demonstrably lacks.
A Terrible Experience with a
I must express my profound disappointment with Travel Up. From my personal experience, I would advise all potential clients to refrain from booking with this company. The absence of any communication regarding booking cancellations is unacceptable. It is unfortunate that customers are left with no choice but to incessantly contact the company for refunds.
Despite diligent efforts to follow up on the promised refund, my experience with Travel Up has been woeful. The continual receipt of automated responses, announcing the refund had been processed, never resulted in the actual release of my funds. It wasn't until my vocal social media complaints that a human contact was made, only to reveal that manual processing was required.
Why does Travel Up have a refund page that is ineffective? Furthermore, charging an exorbitant ?59 admin fee for your inconvenience is unethical. I have received full refunds from other flight providers without any additional charges during this trying time. Hence, the lack of customer care and the absence of transparency in fee charges further confirms the deplorable standards this company operates.
As a consequence of my experience, I have no intention to engage in any booking with this establishment in the future. I implore individuals reading my review to abstain from engaging with Travel Up. Additionally, it is vital to note that other companies linked to Travel Up, including Holiday Genie, Bravo Travel, Bookable Holidays, and Magic Holidays, should be avoided too.
Furthermore, it is disappointing to note that Travel Up indulges in fake positive reviews. Such activities are a breach of trust and further undermine the integrity of the company.
In conclusion, whereas I look forward to the company's response to my review, I would recommend people to research alternative travel providers, where customer service is held in high regard.
SCAM, SCAM,
Regrettably, my recent experience with this travel agency has been a complete disaster. Despite initially offering the most attractive deal, this company's unprofessionalism, lack of commitment and subpar customer service have left me feeling extremely disappointed and dissatisfied.
When I first made the booking for a vacation in Hurghada, Egypt through their website in Canada, I paid my deposit and was assured that the remaining balance would be charged on August 10th, while a confirmation number and hotel vouchers would be issued. However, this never materialized. Instead, only a week before our vacation, they sent a communication stating that my booking had been cancelled.
This came as a significant shock, especially given the fact that I had already left on a flight towards my planned destination. Their explanation for this sudden change of circumstances was that I, a Canadian, was mistakenly believed to be an Egyptian. Upon further correspondence, they admitted their mistake, apologizing for the misunderstanding and promising to issue a full refund.
This irresponsible and negligent handling of affairs has caused me significant distress, inconvenience and financial loss. To add insult to injury, the hotel's sales manager revealed that the travel agency had ongoing issues with bookings, with room capacities often differing from the actual hotel policy, exposing unsuspecting guests to further logistical and financial complications upon arrival.
In light of these reprehensible practices and lack of accountability, I have resolved to take legal action against the travel agency. My experience serves as a warning to others who may be tempted to book with this company based solely on the offer they present. It is crucial to conduct due diligence and thoroughly research any potential travel agencies before committing to them.
I would strongly advise caution when considering this travel agency, and suggest seeking other options from more established agencies such as Expedia, Booking, or Agoda, which offer reliable services and have a reputation for professionalism and customer satisfaction.
My terrible experience with a booking
My experience with TravelUp was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Although I had booked my airfare home with a US credit card and received booking confirmation details, my flight tickets were unexpectedly cancelled two weeks later. Despite receiving payment authorisation emails and a call from customer services regarding an upgrade I declined, I was informed by email that my payment had not been authorised, and my tickets were cancelled. Remarkably, the payment was processed on the day of booking, and there was no warning, email, or phone call that preceded ticket cancellation.
Attempting to establish the cause of the cancelled tickets, I called TravelUp customer services and was informed that I needed an authorization code from my credit card provider to unlock my flights. However, upon contacting my card provider at my own expense, I was told that there was no such code. They further emphasised that payment was successfully made two weeks prior and that if any issue arose, TravelUp should provide me with a verification code. Having relayed this information to TravelUp, I was repeatedly put on hold, transferred to several different agents, and eventually told they could do nothing without the verification code. Evidently, their policy did not allow overriding this requirement, despite my payment and receipt of booking details.
Given the experience above, which clearly shows that TravelUp had received payment and been sitting on it for weeks without alerting me to the requirement of an inexistent authorization code, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the services of this company. It's clear that they are careless, inflexible, and have poor business ethics. For anyone planning a trip, I strongly advise that you consider other options.
"My Terrible Experience with After Sales Service"
My experience with TravelUp was less than satisfactory. While their website was user-friendly and their prices were competitive, the lack of communication and professionalism was disappointing. Prior to my holiday, I had to contact TravelUp because I never received the necessary documentation for my trip. The representative I spoke to was dismissive of my concerns, and when the documents eventually arrived, it was discovered that my pre-booked seats were not paid for. At the airport, the assistant informed me that this was a common issue with TravelUp. Despite multiple attempts to reach out to the company for assistance, I received no meaningful response.
As someone who values the ease and convenience of booking through a travel agency, I cannot recommend TravelUp. Their disregard for their customers' needs after payment has been made is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I advise others to seek alternative options for their travel needs.
after ordering from a fast food
Regrettably, my experience with TravelUp was nothing short of abysmal. After making a hotel reservation, I spent a considerable amount of time scouring my email folders in search of a booking confirmation, but to no avail. I was thus left feeling extremely unnerved by this lack of communication on their part. Compounding matters, I was subsequently hit with the devastating news that a family member had contracted Covid, meaning that I had no choice but to cancel my reservation.
However, when I approached the Hotels department of TravelUp for a refund, I found their staff to be unhelpful and intransigent. Rather than acknowledging their own communication failure, the representatives seemed intent on blaming me for not receiving my confirmation. Moreover, they demanded that I provide my family member's personal medical documents to verify their Covid test results - an unreasonable and invasive request that I found objectionable.
To add insult to injury, I was shocked when the staff refused to issue me a refund, even though their own website claimed that Covid-related booking issues would be subject to a voucher and refund. I was also taken aback by their staff person's overly clever response to my request for a "100% refund", as they instead opted to interpret my statement quite literally!
Given these aggravating circumstances, I was clear and unwavering in my request for a full refund, as I was unwilling to accept any diminished compensation for this frustrating experience. However, I was dismayed when their team cited contingencies that were neither advertised during my booking process nor specified in their Covid-related refund policy. It was only after I hesitated to share private medical information that they sent me a curt email stating that my booking had been cancelled and that I would not receive a refund.
To be honest, I was left fuming by this unacceptable response from TravelUp. They failed to deliver on their advertised promises and seemed more intent on blaming me than addressing their own shortcomings. I was highly disappointed with their inadequate customer service and the way they treated me - it was a dismaying experience from start to finish. Moving forward, I believe that TravelUp needs to review their policies and listen more attentively to clients' needs if they hope to maintain their reputation and preserve the trust of their customers.
flight delay experience at the
Initially, I was excited to use third-party reservation services offered by Travel Up. However, I was disappointed with the entire experience, from the payment requirements to the reservation process. The upfront payment requirement made me hesitant, but I went ahead and made the payment only to realize that my reservation had not reached the hotel. Their customer service was not helpful, and it took them two days to respond to my email inquiry, which raised some eyebrows about their legitimacy.
Their language and approach gave me the impression of a potential scam. As a result, I had to wait for several more days, but unfortunately, the situation didn't change, and I never received any confirmation. I tried to call their US number, but it was always busy, so I had to resort to their Canadian number. Unfortunately, the man who answered sounded like he was located in Nigeria, and he gave me the runaround. Frankly, I was so disturbed, I questioned the integrity of the company.
Based on my experience, I strongly encourage anyone considering Travel Up to look elsewhere for travel services. They do not prioritize their customers, as demonstrated by their lack of responses, misrepresentations, and delays. The fact that they required full payment upfront should have been a red flag for me. I also discovered that advertising rooms they did not have available was further evidence of their deceptive practices.
Finally, I had to alert my credit card company to cancel my card, and issue me another. Thankfully, they were very responsive, and they were just as appalled as I was with Travel Up's blatant unprofessionalism. Therefore, I urge everyone to beware of Travel Up and associated companies.
In summary, do your research before booking with any travel reservation company, and be sure to read reviews thoroughly before making any commitments. Save yourself the stress and hassle that I experienced, and choose a reputable company that prides itself on integrity, reliability, and customer service.
My Terrible Experience with Customer
I had the unfortunate experience of booking and paying for connecting flights in March for travel in November through Travel Up. However, in August, I received a notification of a schedule change to the first of my return flights which would have resulted in me missing the connection for the second flight. After being presented with options including a change of flight date, I requested a rebooked flight on the same day or a refund, but unfortunately, neither of these options seemed possible due to the airline rules.
As a result, I contacted the operating airline myself and was assured that they would always grant a refund for a rescheduled flight. However, upon presenting this information to Travel Up, I was told that my ticket was issued by a third-party airline whose terms and conditions were applicable, rather than those of the carrying airline. This was particularly frustrating since there was no mention of a third-party airline during the booking process.
After a month of frustrating communication with Travel Up's customer service representative with poor English skills, I agreed to a full refund for all the flights involved in the booking. Unfortunately, the processing time was quoted at six weeks, and when I requested confirmation of the value of the complete refund, I was informed of deductions for Travel Up's administration charges and that the processing could take up to 8 weeks. Interestingly, it is now October and Travel Up is yet to provide my refund, despite having held my funds since March this year.
My experience with Travel Up has been harrowing, to say the least. Not only have they provided abysmal service, but their disregard for consumer protection law is concerning. It is unacceptable that any company could operate at such unacceptably low service levels. Based on my unfortunate experience, I would suggest booking through other travel agents who uphold customer satisfaction as a priority, and treat their clients with the respect they deserve.
My Terrible Experience with an Online Travel
It is with great disappointment that I recount my terrible ordeal with Travelup, an online travel company claiming to offer a professional service. My recent request to change my flight date from JFK to London was met with a quote for a staggering ?850, a price that was exceptionally higher than the average ?300 found on other reputable travel websites. Despite bringing this to their attention, they remained unyielding and unresponsive to my request for clarification until I threatened legal action.
The customer service I experienced was not only inefficient but also lacked empathy and compassion. My multiple calls and emails regarding my flight change were not honoured, and my urgent ones ignored. The result was stress, depression and even compromised health that eventually ruined my holiday. I spent hours on hold on the phone, and when I finally managed to get a representative, they were unable to provide answers or direction. The call was either dropped, or I was put on endless hold, which only added more frustration to my already frazzled state.
To make matters worse, the voucher I was promised by Travelup to offset the cost of the new flight never materialized, and I had no other option but to purchase another ticket which cost me extra money. The lack of integrity and honesty displayed in my experience is unacceptable and a blatant disregard for the Consumer Credit Act and Sales of Goods and Services Act.
I strongly advise against engaging with Travelup, as they are an inept company who cannot be trusted with essential travel arrangements. My recommendation is to choose a more trustworthy and reliable travel company if you value peace of mind and customer service that go above and beyond. In conclusion, Travelup's website may appear professional, but my personal experience has revealed them to be anything but.
Possible personal experience based on the given subject: My encounter with Ali Shah, a terrible crooked businessman I met Ali Shah a few
As a pregnant neonatal intensive care nurse, I had to cancel my flights to China and Japan scheduled for 24th March to 2nd April due to the initial coVid-19 outbreak. I reached out to Travelup regarding my cancellations, and Amir Ali, a Travelup agent, promptly informed me that my flight was cancelled, and my refund would be processed by Air China within 6-8 weeks. However, five weeks later, and with no sign of a refund, I contacted Amir Ali once again. It was rather perplexing to me that while I paid for the flights immediately, I had to wait so long for a refund. Amir Ali claimed that my money would be refunded within three to five working days, which later proved to be a lie.
In the following week, I sent multiple emails with no response, and Travelup's generic emails about holiday destinations only added salt to the wound of my predicament. On 18th March, I finally received a response from Amir Ali and TravelUp Sam, who apologized for the inconvenience and said that due to coVid-19, their company was handling a lot more emails than usual, even though my case was ongoing before coVid-19 hit the UK.
Travelup Sam implored me to be patient, and I was promised that I would receive my refund by the first week of the following month. Unfortunately, it's the end of the month now, and I am yet to receive my refund, with countless emails unanswered. It's distressing to see how Travelup is treating honest, hardworking customers like criminals, denying them their legitimate refunds.
As someone who has worked in the healthcare sector, I find this level of greed unacceptable. Travelup's unprofessional behavior and dishonest promises have left me frustrated and out of pocket. As such, I won't be using their services again, and I urge others to do the same. It's high time we hold these companies accountable for their misdeeds. I firmly believe in karma, and I hope that these crooked businessmen like Ali Shah will soon face their misfortune.
My Terrible Experience with Customer Care: Avoid This Company
I must express my sincere disappointment and frustration with Travel Up; a company whose flagrant disregard for customer service has left me appalled. I implore anyone considering booking with them to think again as my experience is a testament to their incompetence.
After our scheduled flight in 2020 was cancelled, my party was issued with a voucher to reschedule, which we subsequently did for this year. However, our plans were once again disrupted when this flight was cancelled, and we requested a full refund of approximately ?200. To our dismay, while the airline had refunded Travel Up, we were yet to receive any money back. Moreover, they have taken ?92 off as 'booking fees' and 'admin' fees, with their proposed refund amounting to only ?108. We have made several attempts to retrieve our money, but they have proved futile, and we have been left with no other recourse but to seek legal action.
My numerous phone calls, emails, and online chats intending to resolve the matter have been met with poor customer service, incompetence and neglect. The experience has been nothing short of appalling, as we have been continually brushed off, given empty promises and passed on to apathetic staff who are undoubtedly not vested in ensuring customer satisfaction. We have spent endless hours on the phone, speaking with different representatives, starting from the beginning each time, and enduring long periods of 'on hold' queues, only to be transferred or prompted with more waiting time.
This abhorrent disregard for customer care is a sharp departure from what is expected of an establishment in this day and age. It is unconscionable that a company could be so callous and unresponsive to legitimate concerns raised by innocent customers.
To conclude, I do not recommend Travel Up to anyone. Do not make the mistake I made; the agony and frustration that come with dealing with them far outweigh any convenience or bargain their services mayfer. Look elsewhere for your travel needs.
"My Experience of Missing a Flight Due to Poor Communication"
As the world continues to grapple with the global pandemic, my family and I made the decision to spend a few months in the Philippines, and we booked our flights through Travel Up, a trusted travel agent. Our original booking details were straightforward; we had secured return tickets with British Airways and Philippines Airlines departing on the 29th and 30th of November, respectively.
However, we discovered that our initial flight with British Airways had been rescheduled twice. On the 19th of August, we received an email that informed us of a change in departure time, and on the 16th of September, we learned that our flight would now only depart on the 30th of November, making it impossible to catch our flight to Manila. Thus, we attempted to contact Travel Up several times daily to resolve the issue.
After several attempts, we managed to speak to Roman Vincent, a Travel Up agent, who offered two flight options with long stopovers. We found this bewildering since there were available flights from Singapore to Manila with the same airline without such long stopovers. We ultimately accepted the second option on the 28th of November, despite the long stopover of over 40 hours.
However, at the airport for check-in, we were informed by the British Airways agent that we required a Singapore Vaccinated Travel Pass if our transit in Singapore was over 24 hours. As we only received the notification on the 22nd of November, we were unable to apply, given the requirement of applying seven days before departure. Despite our attempts with Philippine Airlines and British Airways, we were unable to resolve this issue, and starting to become desperate, we decided to book tickets directly with Philippine Airlines for over ?1400 to depart on the 30th of November as that was the earliest available flight. However, we were still unable to travel as informed by a different British Airways agent that we required the travel pass. We found this incredibly frustrating, particularly given the conflicting information provided by different British Airways agents.
We were left stranded at the airport, with no help from Travel Up or British Airways regarding accommodation or transportation. We were forced to email both parties repeatedly, detailing our predicament and awaiting a response since we could not board our plane. However, until now, we have not received any helpful response other than a request to confirm our email address associated with our booking.
As a result of this situation, I am appalled that we have received no assistance or guidance from Travel Up or British Airways despite being bounced around repeatedly with conflicting information. We were left to fend for ourselves at the airport, uncertain of our travel's future and our financial situation. I intend to email both Travel Up, British Airways, and our insurance company to express my dissatisfaction and to highlight our experience on various social media platforms for others to understand.
So, I suggest that Travel Up and British Airways improve their communication processes, simplifying their access channels so that customers can feel supported in urgent situations that require immediate attention. Both parties need to improve their understanding of their respective roles and responsibilities to avoid confusion and incompetence, which could negatively impact their customers' experience. Moreover, they need to be more transparent and accountable regarding flight schedules, policies, and refunds to avoid situations where customers are left stranded at airports with nowhere to go.

TravelUp Review: Scammers Who Do Not Fulfill Their Obligations
I had an experience with TravelUp that left me feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated. I had booked a hotel in Miami two months in advance for a three-night stay to celebrate my birthday. One month before my trip, I called the hotel to confirm my reservation, only to be told that it had been cancelled because TravelUp had not paid for it.
The hotel even showed me an email where they had advised TravelUp that the reservation was going to be cancelled, but they never responded. I was left stranded in Miami with no place to stay, and all the other hotels were fully booked or too expensive due to a boxing game that weekend.
I spent three hours on the phone with TravelUp's customer service department, but the reservations department never answered while I was still waiting at the hotel. The other departments said they couldn't do anything to help me.
In the end, I had to leave the hotel and start looking for another option. We ended up staying at a hostel with two strangers in our bedroom. The next day, TravelUp finally answered my call and said the only thing they could do was to "chase their supplier" to see if they could give us a refund.
After reading other reviews, I can't understand how TravelUp is still in business. I kept calling every day to follow up with my refund, but I had to explain my situation every time I called and lose so much time and energy. It took 17 days for them to finally send me a refund after I told them I was going to take legal action.
This whole experience was honestly a nightmare. I would not recommend giving your money to TravelUp, as they are scammers who do not fulfill their obligations.
Disappointing Experience with TravelUp: Incorrect Dates and Booking in Pounds
I recently had a frustrating experience with TravelUp when I booked a hotel room at the Courtyard by Marriott Hartford-Manchester, CT. I used my smartphone to make the reservation for June 23/24, but when I received the confirmation, the dates were wrong - June 15/16. I immediately cancelled the reservation and called TravelUp's customer service to ask about waiving the $18.75 fee. Unfortunately, the representative I spoke with informed me that the fee could not be refunded.
Despite this setback, I decided to rebook the room for the correct dates using my home computer. However, when I spoke with the customer service representative again, she informed me that I had actually booked the room in pounds, not dollars. This was incredibly frustrating, as I knew that booking in pounds would cost me more than booking in dollars. I was so angry with the entire situation that I asked the representative to cancel everything.
To my surprise, TravelUp charged me $19.11 and $18.75 for the two reservations, both of which were incorrect. I was extremely disappointed with this outcome and felt that I had been treated unfairly. I decided to reach out to TravelUp and request a credit for the $19.11 and $18.75 that I could use on a future booking.
Unfortunately, the customer service representative I spoke with was not very helpful. She seemed to be aware that the TravelUp website had booked the wrong dates, yet I was still charged the cancellation fee. Additionally, she did not inform me that I had booked in pounds until after I had already rebooked the room for the correct dates. When I expressed my frustration and asked her to waive the cancellation fee, she refused.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience with TravelUp. The customer service representative I spoke with was unhelpful and seemed to lack basic knowledge about the booking process. I hope that TravelUp will take steps to improve their customer service in the future, as I would hate for other travelers to have to go through the same frustrating experience that I did.
Terrible Customer Service: My Experience with TravelUp
Travel Up has been one of the most stressful booking experiences I've ever had. Last December, I purchased a round trip ticket for my brother to travel from New York to Dublin. Unfortunately, on the day of the flight, my brother tested positive for COVID-19. I was worried that I had wasted all that money, but when I contacted TravelUp, the woman I spoke to assured me that changing the flight date would not be a problem. She even told me to send them an email when my brother was ready to travel again.
Fast forward to two weeks ago, my brother got permission to take two weeks off work from March 13th-29th. We immediately emailed TravelUp to let them know, just like they advised. They said they would call my brother later that day, and if not, they would call him the next day to get everything sorted. However, it's been two weeks now, and they haven't updated us on anything. They keep sending us the same generic response, "Thank you for letting us know, we'll get it sorted," but nothing ever happens.
We've had to call them multiple times, and each time we're left on hold for an hour and a half to two hours. It's a total waste of time. My brother was so stressed last night that he was crying because he's supposed to fly in four days, and we might have to spend around $700 on a flight with Aer Lingus. We will never use TravelUp again.
The whole thing is a complete mess. I swear this is a scam. There's no way a popular airline like this can have such shockingly bad customer service. I would never recommend this airline to anyone.

Unethical TravelUp Tried to Keep 25% of My Money for Cancelled Trip
So, I had this trip planned to Antigua, but due to COVID-19, it was not possible for me to go. I contacted TravelUp, and let me tell you, it was not easy to get through to them. After many attempts, I finally got in touch with them to see what my options were. They tried to convince me to cancel my non-refundable hotel reservation, which was worth $4200 USD. Can you believe that? They wanted me to cancel it even though I would legally be left with nothing. That's just not right. It's very unethical to suggest that someone cancels a non-refundable reservation.
I immediately contacted my credit card company and fought the charge. Thankfully, the charge was successfully reversed. But that's not the end of it. Two months after I was supposed to travel, I received an email from TravelUp offering to refund 75% of the hotel charge. But there was a catch. I had to contact my credit card company and reverse the reversal of their charge. Then and only then would they furnish me with documentation for trip insurance, which I did not even purchase. I mean, come on. I received 100% credit for the hotel bill from my credit card company. And they wanted me to reverse that so they could keep 25% ($1050 USD) of my money? That's just ridiculous.
I can't believe how manipulative they are. It's sad to think that they've probably been able to swindle several people out of refunds for trips they were unable to take. I'm glad I stood my ground and didn't believe for a minute that they were acting in my best interest. They are a very unethical company. The worst of the worst.
Terrible Experience with TravelUp: A Warning to All Travelers
I had a terrible experience with TravelUp and I would not recommend them to anyone. My family and I booked a New Year's reservation through their website for a hotel that we have stayed at before. We spoke to a representative named Samantha from TravelUp who confirmed our reservation multiple times, even though the hotel had told us that they were sold out for months. Samantha told us that the rooms could only be guaranteed the week before our stay and that they would confirm with us then. We trusted her and didn't think anything of it.
However, I started to feel uneasy about the situation and decided to contact the hotel directly. After much back-and-forth, Samantha finally admitted that there was no room available for us. She even lied and said that the reason was because the hotel was adults-only and we had booked with a child. We knew this was a lie because we had stayed at the hotel before with our child and the room rate stated that it was for families.
At this point, we had already spent $5000 on tickets and were left without a place to stay. TravelUp offered to replace our $3000 per night hotel room with a $300 per night budget room, which was insulting and unacceptable. We refused their offer and decided to take legal action against them.
I believe that TravelUp is a scam and should not be allowed to operate. They refused to refund our tickets and caused us a great deal of stress and inconvenience. I would advise anyone looking to book travel to stay away from them.
Terrible Customer Service Experience with TravelUp: Avoid Booking with Them
I recently had a terrible experience with TravelUp when booking my family's holiday. I made a booking for myself and my two kids on August 19th, but soon realized that my daughter's surname was incorrect. I immediately contacted TravelUp to modify the name, but they were unresponsive and did not reply to my emails. I had to send four emails just to get a response, and even then, they did not contact the airline to make the necessary changes.
I decided to call the airline myself, and the staff at Iberia were very helpful and polite. They informed me that they could amend any mistakes in a booking as long as it was within the first 24 hours, but since I had not booked directly with them, TravelUp needed to contact them directly. When I called TravelUp, I was shocked to find that their customer service was terrible. They hung up on me the first time I called, and the second time, someone with an Asian accent told me to stop calling them 20 times a day and that someone was dealing with it. They refused to give me any information and were extremely unhelpful.
I was devastated that I was unable to travel with my daughter, and my two kids were left devastated as well. We lost our money and had to cancel our holiday. I was extremely disappointed with TravelUp's customer service, and I would advise anyone to avoid booking with them. They do not care about their customers and are only interested in making money. It is a shame that such a company exists, and I would not recommend them to anyone.
Travel Up Review: A Complete Disgrace - Don't Book with Them!
Travel Up is not a company that I would recommend to anyone. They are a complete disgrace! If you happen to have a booking cancelled, don't expect them to contact you to let you know. Instead, you'll have to chase them for a refund. Even when they do finally process your refund, they'll send you automated replies saying that you'll receive your money within 3-5 working days. But don't believe them, it's all a lie! I had to contact them repeatedly for months before I got any response. It wasn't until I went on social media to complain that a human finally replied to tell me that they had to process the refund manually.
What's worse is that they have a refund page set up that doesn't even work! It's ridiculous. When I finally did receive my refund, it was a week later and they had deducted a ridiculous admin fee of ?59! I refuse to accept this fee and will continue to complain until they refund it too. I've received refunds from other companies for flights during this unfortunate time and not once did any of those companies charge an admin fee. I always received my full refund amount back without any hassle.
I will never book with Travel Up again and I strongly urge everyone reading this to do the same. I'll make sure to leave bad reviews everywhere and tell everyone I know to never book with this company. It's important that as many people as possible hear what a disgrace Travel Up is!
It's also worth noting that Holiday Genie, Bravo Travel, Bookable Holidays, and Magic Holidays are all linked to Travel Up. So, I wouldn't recommend booking through any of these companies either.
Lastly, I want to address the fake positive reviews that Travel Up has been receiving. It's so obvious that they're from people linked to the company. It's a total joke!
I'm eagerly awaiting Travel Up's reply to this review. I can't wait to read it.
Terrible Experience with TravelUp: Cancelled Booking and Room Issues Ruined My Vacation
I had a terrible experience with TravelUp. I thought I had found a great deal on their website for a vacation in Hurghada, Egypt. I booked on July 5th and paid the deposit, with the remaining balance to be withdrawn on August 10th. They promised to issue confirmation numbers and hotel vouchers. I was excited to go on vacation and spend some quality time with my family.
However, just a week before our vacation, on August 14th, they sent us an email saying that they had cancelled our booking. I was shocked and angry. We were already on the flight to Egypt! I immediately contacted them and they told me that they cancelled our booking because they thought we were Egyptians. I told them that we are Canadians and they made a mistake. They apologized and said they would refund us.
I was so frustrated with their mistake that I threatened to complain to the ministry of tourism in Canada, USA, and Egypt. I also called their customer service to escalate the issue. They apologized again and said that this kind of thing happens a lot. I have booked with other travel websites like Expedia, Booking, and Agoda and have never had this kind of problem.
To make matters worse, I found out from the sales manager of the hotel that they had a big issue with their room bookings. The room capacities were different from the actual hotel policy, which meant that we might not get the rooms we had booked. This was unacceptable, and I decided to sue TravelUp.
Thankfully, the sales manager of the hotel was very understanding and helpful. He rebooked our rooms, but it was more expensive than our original booking. Overall, I would not recommend TravelUp to anyone. They ruined my vacation and caused me a lot of stress and frustration.
the mountain on a stormy
As a user of Sitejabber, I highly recommend the inclusion of a zero-star option for reviewing purposes. Recently, my experience with Travel Up was nothing short of difficult and unpleasant. While I understand that the pandemic has caused widespread disruption, Travel Up attempted to withhold my refund by suggesting that I cancel my non-refundable booking instead. This deceptive tactic made it clear that Travel Up is not a business that values honesty and integrity.
Due to their questionable practices, I was forced to initiate a chargeback, which ultimately took five months to resolve. I strongly advise against wasting your valuable time attempting to retrieve your money from Travel Up directly. Instead, take the chargeback route as soon as possible. It's essential to be aware that there is a time limit for conducting a chargeback from the date of purchase, so be sure not to delay.
It's worth noting that, in my experience, Travel Up uses delay tactics to prevent customers from pursuing chargebacks. They'll assure you that you'll receive a refund but never follow through on their promises - don't fall for it.
Furthermore, Travel Up's behavior does not stop at refusing to refund customers. Ironically, the company possesses the resources and staff necessary to report authentic reviews to platforms such as Trustpilot, but they cannot provide direct refunds or customer support.
In conclusion, I urge prospective customers to stay away from Travel Up. This company does not prioritize customer satisfaction, nor do they uphold ethical business practices. As someone who has personally navigated the issues that come with dealing with Travel Up, it's imperative to heed this warning and avoid this company at all costs.
My Terrible Experience with a Company - Avoid at all Costs!
I am greatly dismayed by my recent experience with this travel company, which has left me feeling completely let down by Skyscanner for allowing these fraudulent operators to deceive unsuspecting customers. My partner and I had booked a trip to Italy, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to travel. Despite being entitled to a refund, we have received no information from the company, despite our impending departure date being only three days away.
In an attempt to reach customer service, we spent countless hours on premium-rate phone lines, accruing a bill of over ?40, and sent numerous emails, none of which were met with a response. We even took to Twitter, only to be met with more deceit and empty promises. After three hours on hold, the call ended abruptly and I was left feeling extremely dissatisfied with the service provided. Upon finally reaching someone, instead of receiving the courteous customer service one would expect, I was met with blatant rudeness and a refusal to listen.
Despite being promised a callback and priority in responses to emails, neither of these assurances materialized. Regrettably, I would not recommend this service to anyone and would advise against using them unless you want the stress and disappointment of being denied a refund and receiving no form of customer service.
activity suspected
After a prolonged and frustrating experience with TravelUp, I am compelled to warn others against using this company. Despite having followed their cancellation guidelines, I have not received an owed refund from a cancelled booking over 18 months ago. TravelUp has repeatedly claimed that I was marked as a "no-show" by the airline, a false allegation refuted by direct communication with the carrier.
Regrettably, the process of seeking resolution has been fraught with incompetence and dishonesty on the part of TravelUp. Their customer service has been consistently impolite, unhelpful, and untruthful, exacerbating an already frustrating situation.
I am appalled by this company's practices and must advise others to avoid them. In my opinion, the multitude of positive reviews are suspect and may be fraudulent. I have noticed TravelUp posting fake comments on other ratings websites, which deepens my suspicions. It is shameful that they would resort to systematic deception rather than honoring their obligations and returning deserved refunds.
In short, if you value your time, money, and sanity, I strongly advise against ever using this company.
I Ever Worked
My travel experience with TravelUp was unfortunately a disappointing one. As the worldwide lockdowns began, my travel plans were severely impacted, and I made the decision to cancel my trip due to concerns regarding potential travel restrictions. Despite contacting TravelUp on 13/03 to inquire about alternative options, I was met with a lack of response. It was disheartening to witness my friend, who had booked directly with BA, receive flight vouchers weeks ahead of time while I received no assistance whatsoever. Communication with TravelUp was seemingly impossible during this trying time, as I was unable to reach their representatives despite my repeated attempts.
It is understandable that these are unprecedented times and travel companies are facing challenging circumstances. However, it is unacceptable to ignore customers who are seeking assistance during this time. Even now, two months later, I have yet to receive a response from TravelUp. This has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed in their lack of customer service.
Moreover, TravelUp's communication practices have been subpar. I have received promotional emails from them, while failing to address my concerns. Additionally, they referred to me using an incorrect name, referring to the male on the booking, who was not me nor the person who had made the booking.
In light of my experience, I caution anyone considering using TravelUp to avoid it. The lack of customer service and inadequate communication practices have left me disillusioned, and I would not recommend their services.
My Experience with Sketchy Customer
During my recent experience with Travelup, I encountered difficulty when trying to change the dates of my vacation. Although I was aware of the $49 fee, I was not prepared for the inconvenience I faced in doing so. Having utilized other booking apps, I have come to expect a high level of user autonomy when it comes to making changes to my itinerary. However, with Travelup, the process was less clear-cut, and I found myself struggling to navigate the site in order to modify my plans.
Despite my best efforts, I was unable to locate a self-service option for the changes I needed to make. Consequently, I attempted to contact customer service repeatedly, but was met with a busy signal each time. Eventually, I was able to leave a voice message, but received no response. Growing concerned, I again attempted to change my dates online, discovering a section where I could type in my request for alteration. At this point, I opted for a set of random dates and requested the change accordingly. Unfortunately, I was left in the dark as to any potential pricing changes, and assumed that if any were to occur, I would be contacted before being charged. Unfortunately, this assumption proved incorrect.
A few days later, I received notification that my dates had been changed, but to my dismay, I discovered that my hotel expenses had increased. To my further concern, I was made aware that I would be charged an additional $50 should I choose to cancel the reservation. Had I had access to nightly rates, I would have made different selections for my stay, and avoided the increased cost altogether.
Overall, I was left disheartened by my experience with Travelup. I found the process frustrating, and the lack of transparency surrounding pricing changes to be a major roadblock towards achieving a satisfactory outcome. In light of my experiences, I cannot recommend their services, and recommend travelers look elsewhere for their vacation booking needs.
Hello
Dear [Company Name],
I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the quality of customer service that I received while trying to confirm my flight change. Firstly, I would like to acknowledge that I did receive your message regarding the flight change, but unfortunately, my experience with your customer service department was less than satisfactory.
Regrettably, I found your phone line to be unresponsive, and despite being transferred from one representative to another, I was unable to receive the assistance that I required. This process continued for over two hours without success, leaving me feeling frustrated and disheartened. As a result, I found the quality of your customer service department to be severely lacking and not up to par with what I would expect as a valued customer.
Additionally, I found the lack of communication, particularly in regards to informing me about the flight change, to be inadequate. Ultimately, the entire experience has left me with a negative impression of your company, and I would hesitate to recommend your services to anyone.
Therefore, I suggest that your company take immediate steps to train your staff on advanced customer service techniques to ensure that future customers do not have similar experiences. Providing a more supportive and responsive customer service experience would undoubtedly boost your reputation with customers and enhance the overall quality of your business.
In conclusion, I must say that my encounter with your customer service department was subpar, and I am deeply dissatisfied with the experience. Without prompt action to improve your customer service lines, I cannot recommend your services or continue to enlist them in the future.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
Terrible Experience with Company
I recently booked a flight for my elderly mother which had to be cancelled due to the change in UK regulations. While Travel Up refused to refund the booking, they promised to issue a travel voucher that could be used online, which we accepted. Unfortunately, when we tried to use the voucher two weeks later, we found that the code was not working. Subsequently, we were forced to call the customer service department, where we were met with an almost two-hour wait time and the most discourteous, haughty personnel devoid of any interpersonal skills.
When I requested a suitable voucher number to reserve my flights, I was informed that I would have to pay more money. This situation prompted me to raise a complaint, to which the representative haughtily replied, "Do what you want," before promptly ending the conversation. The staff are not only impolite and arrogant but also notably cheap, overseas employees who exhibit limited concern regarding customer satisfaction.
I am facing substantial distress from this unfortunate experience, as the flight prices increased by ?2-300 during the duration of my three to four hours of waiting, and I am unsatisfied with the service provided. This ordeal is jeopardizing the ?500 we have already paid.
I am disappointed that Travel Up has failed to provide satisfactory customer service and would advise avoiding this company at all costs. As per my personal experience, I suggest potential customers examine this company's reviews before any booking decisions.
My Experience with Paying By Credit Card and Securing my Account with a Black
My experience with this company was thoroughly disappointing and I would not recommend them to anyone. Firstly, I was charged an exorbitant fee of ?426.00 for amending just two out of four tickets, despite the fact that the original tickets cost only ?2504.48. Upon cancellation of the flights by Quatar, this company failed to communicate with me, leaving me stranded and unsure of my travel plans.
To make matters worse, they refused to refund me the entirety of the amount paid by Quatar, withholding ?1327.29 for reasons unknown. While ?426.00 was eventually charged back due to the use of a credit card, their staff members named Mike and Francis attempted to lure me with a paltry offer of ?800.00. When I questioned their actions, they requested an email dialogue which further added to my distress and dissatisfaction.
As an individual of Asian origin, I was embarrassed by the actions of this company and believe their unscrupulous business practices have no place in the Western world. I have since reported them to relevant authorities such as ATOL, Quatar Airlines and ABTA in the hopes that they will be held accountable for their actions.
In summary, any individual planning to engage the services of this company must exercise caution and take appropriate measures to ensure that they are not exploited. With a plethora of reputable travel agencies available, it would be wise to explore alternative options rather than risk dealing with this unreliable entity.
My Personal Experience of Running Away from
I regret to say that my experience with this travel agent has been nothing short of abysmal. Despite the many challenges that the industry is facing due to Covid-19, the level of incompetence and neglect exhibited by this company is unparalleled. To make matters worse, their lack of communication regarding flight cancellations and refunds is completely unacceptable. After waiting for more than three months and receiving a paltry two responses, I finally managed to secure a partial refund, which left me doubly frustrated, considering the inconvenience and heartache that I had to endure.
Moreover, the company changed its terms and conditions without proper consultation or notification, which is a serious breach of trust. I was dismayed to discover that I had to contact the airlines directly to obtain information on flight cancellation and refund status. To my astonishment, the airlines informed me that my refund had already been processed in full, however, Travel Up had failed to communicate this information to me.
The value of the services rendered is practically nonexistent, especially for the exorbitant fee of ?50 that they charge. Their inefficiencies and lack of transparency have caused nothing but stress and inconvenience, prompting me to question the reason for their existence. If anything, I believe they owe me compensation for the time and energy that I expended chasing up airlines and pursuing my rightful refund. Their failure to provide timely and accurate cancellation information is a clear violation of their terms and conditions, which they seem to disregard entirely.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against purchasing tickets from this agent. They are nothing more than a band of con artists, who are undeserving of the five-star reviews that they seem to receive from time to time. Do yourself a favor, and steer clear of their services at all costs.
My Struggle with Honesty in the
It is deeply regrettable to report about the woeful incompetence of Travelup. Recently, British Airways cancelled our flights, and it was an ordeal to reach out to Travelup by phone or email. It was a tremendous hardship to access the company, and even the CEO ignored emails to evade responsibility. After enduring a forty-minute wait, the staff took all our information and transferred us to another department. However, we waited for an additional ten minutes, listening to unsettling advertisements about the company's supposed greatness, only to have the call cut off. The company never bothered to call us back.
After a few weeks, we retried our approach, and finally, we spoke with someone competent. They regretfully admitted that nothing had been done to resolve our issue in the weeks that we had already sent out multiple emails and contact forms. Finally, Travelup claimed to have submitted a request to British Airways for a refund, but they set a timeframe of 4-6 weeks to receive a cash refund. To heighten our frustration, we found out Travelup had added a revised term to their terms and conditions, stipulating that they could charge an administration fee of £50 to process cash refunds.
In essence, the customer service from Travelup was the worst we have ever encountered. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this service to anyone. It is only fair to award them with one star, as there is no option to give a lower rating.
My Terrible Experience with Traveling and Why I Would Give it Zero
As a frequent traveler, I had the unfortunate experience of utilizing Travel up to book a hotel for a business trip to Atlanta. Upon my arrival, I was shocked to discover that the entire hotel had been shut down due to a sanitary health hazard involving Legionnaires disease. To my dismay, the hotel had been closed for two weeks prior to my scheduled stay, yet Travel up had failed to inform me of the cancellation.
Consequently, I was left stranded in an unfamiliar city with no accommodation and all surrounding hotels booked due to the peak season. Despite numerous attempts to contact Travel up, their customer service representatives appeared uninterested and compounded the problem by declining to refund me since they allegedly had no knowledge of the hotel closure. Such a response was unacceptable, considering that even in the UK, where Travel up is based, simple online searches could have easily alerted them of the situation.
Exacerbating the problem further, the hotel management confirmed that they had informed all third-party vendors, including the Travel up agency. Consequently, I was left in a dire situation with no insight or assistance from the company whose services I had paid for.
It is disheartening that even after relaying the entire ordeal and informing Travel up that I could not utilize the hotel for the booked week, they still refused to refund my $900. As if dealing with my plight wasn't arduous enough, it has now been three weeks since my ordeal, and I am yet to receive my refunded money.
In light of my negative experience, I would caution future travelers to avoid using Travel up for their travel bookings owing to their poor customer service and failure to adequately inform their clients of pertinent information. Instead, it is wise to consider using a more reputable company, even if it costs a little bit more.
Corrupt!
My recent experience with Travelup has been quite disappointing and frustrating, to say the least. After having my flights cancelled by the airline, I immediately contacted Travelup for confirmation and assistance. Unfortunately, it took me hours of trying to get through their customer service line before I was able to speak with a representative. I requested a refund over the phone, but I was told that I would only be entitled to a credit note, and that I had to rebook a flight by the end of August , and fly by February . I felt stressed and felt that I had no option but to agree. Along with the phone call, I was informed to reply immediately to an email confirmation.
It wasn't until a few days later when I stumbled upon some customer legal rights materials and social media posts that I discovered I was entitled to a full refund. I contacted Travelup again, but unfortunately, their staff was unhelpful and equally unresponsive. In fact, it has taken them an unreasonable amount of time to address my concerns and provide any form of assistance. I even had to join a Facebook page for support where over 1500 users shared similar issues with the company.
I remain aggrieved by their treatment and continue to pursue a full refund as prescribed by my customer rights. As an essential worker, I am mindful of the value of my hard-earned money and the importance of ethical and lawful business practices.
Therefore, I strongly advise against using Travelup for any travel arrangements, as their services do not seem to comply with legal standards. In the future, I know better than to use a travel agent and intend to book directly with airlines.
