Fraud and misrepresentation
I have my phone registered with the do not call registry. Despite this, I received a call from Nickie, at Tristar Industires. She said if
I sat through a 10 minture prespresentation, I wouild receive a 250 dollar gas card. This was a total lie. I received a card, that makes you jump through so many hoops, its worthless.
The guy came over and stayed well over an hour. I finally kicked him out. He was trying to sell me a 2600 dolllar vacuum. What a joke.
Tired of it
I just read all of these complaints and I did get a good laugh...The word vacuum is spelled with one c and two u's whoever posted the word spelling it "vaccum and vacccum". If you don't want to purchase the unit or sit through a demonstration, don't invite them in. I'm sure they don't twist your arm to make you let them in. The distributors are independent, so they do business how they please. They do not work for TriStar Enterprises.. They take the TriStar product and sell it. I mean if you purchased a Sony tv from Wal-Mart, you wouldn't call and complain to Sony (the manufacturer) about how the sell went or how the person who sold you the tv treated you, or if you wanted to return the tv, you wouldn't call Sony.. You would call Wal-Mart. Also if you do purchase a unit, don't call a year later wanting to return it because you can't pay the bill. You have a 3 day period provided by the government to return the product (in most states). Not all of the distributors are as bad as you think they are. There are some good distributors out there who run there business honestly. And the TriStar unit is a good product!
He is right on a 100% . I have never heard of TriStar until a week back when I young man stop by and ask if he could show me a vacuum cleaner and if I set through his sales pitch then he would vacuum and shampoo my carpet ... so I said ok . And after it was all done I was so impress by his vacuum cleaner and how much more it pickup right after I vacuum with my vacuum and I just put a new filter bag in my vacuum cleaner and my vacuum was a $500.00 unit when I got it new a few years back that I bought the one that he unpack in my front room . The days of the door to door salesman is not quite done yet when it comes down to super high quality products with a super warranty and over 50 years of backing !
Entering your home under false pretenses
In the last couple of months, yesterday august 5, 2008 being the latest, so called "salesmen" come to your door under the pretense that they have a new "air purifying company" and have a "free gift". With me it was either detergent or fabric softener. After he actually followed my husband into the house, (he was not invited!), he and his partner proceeded to demonstrate the vacuum cleaner and after almost 2 hours!, when my husband said we were not interested, they got very hostile. Even to the point of refusing to leave until they completed the demonstration! Only after my husband threatened to call the police, did they finally leave and even then were being very rude! Yesterday, they came back and this time my elderly mother and father in law were the victims. Again, after being told that they were not interested, they refused and even asked my retired baptist preacher father in law, what kind of christian he was?! Also, they ask alot of suspicious questions. For example, do you have a dog?, whose car is that in the driveway? And also they call you my your first name like you are old friends! Unbelievable!
Do not let these people in your home! Do not even answer the door! If they do somehow get in and will not leave, call 911 immediately! Our local sheriffs department has been notified as well

Bad service
I would have posted this on-line, but I don't know the company address or e-mail address. Please post this for me:
A month or so ago, I received a call from some woman asking me to complete a quick survey about indoor air quality - would I answer a few questions? Sure. However, as soon as she asked me what type of vacuum I had I told her I didn't need a vacuum and hung up. She called me back and said she wasn't trying to sell me a vacuum - it was just part of the survey.
This morning I got a call asking if a "demonstrator" could come out and give me a presentation of an "air purifier". I was pretty sure this was going to be a vacuum sales pitch, but I wasn't having a busy day and could use the diversion.
A while later I got a call from a Mr. Johnston confirming the demo. He told me the young man that would be doing the demo was doing his first with me - please go easy on him. Even though I had no intention of buying an "air purifier" I thought the practice would be good for the kid. Mr. Johnston told me when the demo was completed, I would be presented with a set of knives just for watching.
Two college-age kids showed up with a big box and a binder. One of them did the schpiel while the other on coached him along. To make a longer story shorter, they asked if my current vacuum could do as good a job, and quite frankly, yes, I believed it could. I have a Rainbow and I love it. I hauled it out and went over the same spot the Tristar had cleaned and, voila, dirt in my Rainbow. When all was said and done, I believe the results are about the same for both vacuums. Both do an excellent job.
We completed a brief "survey" then the one that did the demo got on the phone to his boss and the pressure tactics began. I guess Mr. Johnston finally realized that no means no and basically told me I would have to live with my dirt. I guess I will, Mr. Johnston. Then I told him I didn't think much of the companys' deceitful sales tactics starting with the so-called air quality survey, especially when I told her, back in the begining, I didn't want a new vacuum.
As the young men were packing up to leave, I asked them where my knife set was. Omygod and saucer-big eyes, they weren't given one to give to me. (Surely I can't be the only person who ever asked for one.) They said they would go into town (about 20 minutes away) and bring one out to me. That was about eight hours ago.
I just called Mr Johnston asking where my knife set was. What? They didn't give you one. They were supposed to. Do you want me to get them to bring it now? No, Mr. Johnston. It's 10:30 at night. They can come out tomorrow.
That is the end of part one. Part two is checking Tristar on the Internet and finding a similar story to mine - so their deceitful sales tactics must be somewhat common. I am so sick of organizations that think customers are idiots and now there is a place to vent our frustration for the rest of the world to see. Hopefully, with sites like this, ethics will return to corporate culture. Part three: I have Mr. Johnston's phone number. I WILL either get a knife set or he will have to get a new number.

Do not buy
Ordered the Iron in May, got it and the very first time I used it the spring broke from the handle. Contacted Cust Service they said they would ship a return label right away. I called 2 weeks later, no one had shipped the label, I told them this is too much of a hassle, refund my money. The operator said for the "inconvenience" they would refund 39.00. I agreed, label came, sent iron back. After 20 some days, I called asking about the iron, they said they can't coordinate with the warehouse so they have no idea when the new one will be shipped. Now the fun begins, I asked for a refund, explaining to 4 different operators the situation and EVERY time they are all rude and short. They are now saying because I was given a partial refund, I have to accept the iron and no refund will be given! We'll see what the NJ BBB has to say about what I believe is fraud and extortion! BUYER BEWARE!

their products are from China, and when you call to have them replaced, because it doesn't work, they deny your request. I will never buy their products again.
Scam and fraud
Do not believe anything they tell you or let them into their home. I was told that I would receive a new "home cleaning system" if I let them give us a demonstration and provide them with my opinion of their product. They told me that they were not a sales company that they are a marketing company. It was the biggest waste of two hours of my life. I got nothing for free! They did give me a vacation voucher but you have to send the travel company 50 dollars to register for the "free" getaway. Our sales girl was very nice and we advised her to get out of the business. She was too nice of a person to be involved in such a sham act. I guess some things never change. Remember what your Mom always told you, "Nothing in life is for free". I wish I had! THERE IS ALWAYS A CATCH!
Rip off
I too ordered the Kiyoseki iron only to receive a dirty, stained, sticky, used iron that did not even work when plugged in. Rep on phone was a turd, no apology. Had to wait for mailing label. I sent the piece of crap back and this company had the gall to keep $10 for shipping, when I was sent a used, broken product in the first place. Why should I pay a cent for being sent, and then having to return, a piece of crap iron that was pre-owned? Do you trust a company that does this to people? Go to your neighbourhood store and buy a much cheaper iron that will work just as good and one that you can at least get all your money back if you have to return it.

How can celebs that give TriStar their name and reputation allow such practices to go on?

Door to door sales scam
We received a postcard in the mail saying if we set up a time for a demonstration for a home cleaning system we would receive one of three free gifts. 1: cutlery set 2: a two day vacation 3: money, so I set up a time with a guy for the demonstration. Dave Morgan showed up at our house at 6pm and didn't leave until 8:30pm. We listened to his discription of...

Their customer service is rude and curt, they will not let you cancel an order, nor will they listen to you. They lie and say an order has shipped and it has not. This company is affiliated with a foreign company and they use the foreign business tactics to make it impossible to get your money back. I called customer service twice and have submitted 3 enquires (as there is no email address nor is there an 800 number) and no one addresses me with the issues at hand. I will never look at another info-commercial again, I will never buy another info-commercial product, and I will only buy from American backed companies.

Fake advertisement!
I called in for a KFC certificate, i talked to some young lady she didn't speak very professionally. She said in order to receive my certificate i had to listen to a presentation on the Tristar and give her my opinion. I agreed to the presentation and i had set everything off just to be there in time and they didn't show up. So the next day i called and asked what had happened and they said the dealer had an accident and couldn't' make it out there. So i rescheduled with them and they stood me up again and again. They do false advertisement and they should not be able to sale any vacuum. I was very unpleased with the whole thing.
Telemarketing sales!
We like many of our readers were promised a free vacation from Tristar telemarketing, if we allowed their rep to visit. The visit turned into a long winded pressure sales speel for their vacuum cleaner oh sorry "cleaning system". From the very beginning we told the rep that were not interested in purchasing the product, and repeated this statement several times during the entire episode. At the end of the process the rep expected us to pay $2500 for a vacuum that we didn't need or want. When we finally broached the free vacation, he threw a catalog on the floor, scribbled some numbers, and told us to call another number.
If these guys call, don't waste your time, it a scam.
We purchased a Tri-Star about 8 years ago. It was a great sales pitch and spent about $1500. We bought and have not looked back since. I see how my mom and gramma have gone through so many vacuum cleaners and we still have our our Tri-Star. Parts have broken such as plastic parts, but they are easily replaced. I am very glad we do not have one of the upright vaccum cleaners. I find it a joy to vacuum, I even call him a "little doggy."
Rip off / scam
Two salesman rudely ruined our 4th of July this year. Even though we didn't have plans, we were enjoying our holiday just relaxing at the house and watching movies. Well the two guys bombard us and give us a small bottle of Gain just to talk to us about environmental allergies or so they tell my husband. I was in the back room and my husband comes and...

Yesterday, a car drove into my neighbor's driveway about 3:00 PM. Two men went to the door. At about 8:00 PM they left. My neighbor usually retires for the evening around that time, if not earlier. At a few minutes before 9:00 PM, a young man (no car) walks up to my door and rings the bell. Amidst ferocious barking by my dogs (they know it's too late for people to walk up to your door). I asked through the jalousy door, "It's 9:00 PM, whatever you're selling, I'm not interested in it." He then responds in an arrogant manner, "How do you know you're not interested?" I responded," It is inappropriate for anyone to be walking up to people's doors this late at night. I'm not interested, good-by." A few minutes later, he was still standing on my front porch. I walked back to the door and announced," I would appreciate it if you would leave." He mumbled something, and then I said "Get off my property." I had to repeat myself, and then added, "If you don't I'll call the police." He said, "Have a blessed day", and left.
Shortly after that, the car drove back into my neighbor's driveway. I could see from my window that one of the men in the car was the salesman who came to my door. I immediately called my neighbor and there was no answer on the telephone. It was now almost 10:00PM. I assumed my neighbor was asleep, as he usually is by 8:00 PM. The car just sat in the driveway. As I started to call the police, I saw my neighbor come out of his house and speak with the two men. They left. I asked my neighbor about them, and he explained they were from Tri Star Vaccumn. Something is very wrong with this.
Hello, I used to sell the Tris Star cleaning system and even own one myself. I have never seen a better system. Let me tell you why. I was selling them to make some extra money, learned the demonstration and thought it was good and went on with it. I sold quite a few to people who owned Kirbys, Rainbows, store bought machines etc. And every home I went into I got a lot of dirt out of the carpeting, which impressed people and they sold. But let me tell you what convinced me more than anything that I was selling the best American made product out there. I went into a home of someone who allready owned a Tri Star, and I got very very little to no dirt out of their carpet. They told me they had their Tri Star for almost 20 years. I was amazed that it really kept their carpets that clean, almost new looking. I asked how long they had the carpet, they told me they had their current carpet for almost 10 years. So now I was impressed, well they did trade in the old one for a new one and were happy with it. Now let me tell you something I bet you did not pay attention to if you have ever seen a Kirby demo. First let me tell you that a Kirby is a bag vacuum and like any other bag vacuum, air is forced through the dirt in the bag and that is why they lose power. When a Kirby is demonstrated, they...get this...take the WHOLE bag off of the unit and put on that little attachment to put those test cloths into. Now with that you have the constant air flow to impress you with picking up dirt. So you buy it, with the bag on, use it, bag will clog and you have ess power and suction. Run it for a year or so, let a well mannered, Tri Star salesmen come in, if he or she gets as much dirt out of your carpet then, well now you know how well a Kirby works, or rather doesn't. And also when a Tri Star is demonstrated, unlike Kirby, they do not alter the machine or anything, just works as it is. Well I hope my personal experiences helps anyone to make a decision one way or another. Good luck with anything you purchase. One more thing, if you are presented with a price of more than $1, 000 for a Tri Star, haggle it down, they will go that low, ya just gotta work it. :)
I also was scammed by these people coming to the house would not take no for an answer, told a bunch of lies now we are stuck with a machine that is way to expensive for the amount of money this product is selling for it should pick up everything as they say it will, well wood floors it is terrible spits out the dirt on your legs I actually invited them to my home to vacumn on the wood floor that was months ago and still no reply from them because they know it doesn't work very well, its all LIES and when we figure that out that is it they will avoid you and LIE LIE LIE through there teeth I can only hope that this happens to these people one day and then mabey they will realize what they did worse I hope they get thrown in jail and no one cares to listen to them or help them. We were told that our credit score would go up this is what people look for (we were trying to buy house now that is off ) this will help us get the house we were looking for, well don't BELIEVE them its all a big fat lie, our credit score went down and now we are stuck wondering what we are going to do and where we are going to live when we have to leave this place. There are BAD SALESMEN all over who ever believes there are no bad ones must be one themselves. Never ever listen to one of these salesmen or you will wish that you didn't. I wish I never herd of this company and I see alot of others are feeling the same way. THE WORST VACUUM THAT I EVER USED DO NOT BELIEVE THEM DON'T LISTEN.
I bought My Tri star. I love it! I have 5 animals. It keeps up with all of them. I will never have to buy another Vac again. I have had to buy one every two years. So Let me tell you, this is worth it. I no longer smell dog.
My salesman was wonderful. I have been to the store in Tampa. They are very nice people. So I don't understand why that person couldn't get in touch with them.
I don't believe in Bad salesmen. And its a shame because this is a wonderful product and to me, worth every penny of 2600. free Cleaning service for 25 years. 1 time a year. Who offers that?
I love my Tristar.
Contact your state's attorney general office - each one has a department for consumer protection. They jump on these things very fat0 do not try to handle it on your own. Many people have already filed complaints before you that you are not aware of. In our tight economy- everyone has a scam. Be careful, some if these people have criminal backgrounds and you can be at risk.
Rule of thumb- if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't.
I had an issue I fought with AOL- my attorney general office got me a 3 year refund in less than 2 weeks. Something I fought for 3 years.
I have a TriStar and PurStar and I love them. This addition to my cleaning family is my favorite. Did you know that vacuums are not healthy for you? Do you know there are dustmites that you breath in which is a trigger of allergies, asthma attacks, bronchitis, and various other harmful health issues? Would you go outside throw your steak around in the dirst and then eat it or drink water from a mud puddle? Then why would you breath in all of this? Ever heard of Black Mold? It's fatal. You may pay a high price for this TriStar but think of how much money you save in the long run by not having to purchase a new vacuum every year or so. No more bags and ridiculous filters, sending it away for repairs, eating your carpet, it doesn't even work properly. It sucks up the dust and spits back out, unlike the Tristar. TriStar is also a healthy decision, Ask your doctor about it, overall he/she is the one you trust with you life. Did you know that 72% less rick of SIDS by using PurStar? Have you read the back of Oust or Glade Sprays? Harmful, do not inhale. That is water weight and you will breathe it in and it's so harmful that it could cause cancer. You buy this TriStar and you will never have to buy another "vacuum" again. It's guarenteed for life and the PurStar has a True Hepa Filter (Yes theres a difference between hepa and true hepa) which filters carbon dioxide, dustmites, pet dander, any odors, etc. I love my TriStar and I will stand up for it. I do apologize that you recieved poor customer service, do not blame the company nor the product for such rude representation. Enjoy your TriStar.
I'm very sorry that all of you have had a very negative expericence with The Tristar Cleaning System. As a former distributor for the company and am considering being a distributor again, I can only say that The Tristar machine is an excellent quality unit and cleans better than 99 percent of vacs on the market. THE PROBLEM IS THE SALES ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE LOCAL DISTRIBUSHIP!
First of all, sales people should not be knocking on doors at 9 pm. They also should treat their potential customers just as
they would treat their own grandmother. I believe in treating everyone with respect and diginity.
The Tristar system is owned and manufactured by the same person that owns Electrolux in Bristol Va. Both the Electrolux and Tristar systems are manufacture under the same roof. The Tristar shampooer is the same as Electrolux's but with a different name.
Every home that you drive by hopefully owns some type of vac or cleaning system. One out of seven homes will buy a vac this year whether they see one demoed or buy from a store.
In my Opinion, Tristar ranks up to effeciency, quality, and ease of use as a Rainbow cleaning system. The biggest problem is that distributors utilize techniques like "BANGING" on doors and poor people skills to marketing an EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
NOT ALL OF US USE THESE SAME METHODS OF SALES AND WE, FOR THE MOST PART, HAVE EXCELLENT RAPOR WITH OUR EXISTING AND FUTURE CUSTOMERS.

I need to ask anyone that has bought a tri star vacum? Did they say that it was made from the company electrolux? I'm investigating somethings because the other day the man brought me a dirty clearner that was a electrolux and than the same day said o i brought u the wrong clearner and gave me the same exact cleaning system but this time it said tri star...please email me because i need to get to the body of this...the only reason i bought the vac is because i know how good the electrolux company is...let me know please!
I had a call from this gal saying they would shampoo one carpet. I said, I am not interested in buying anything right now. She said, thats ok as the fellow is compensated. So, this young man shows up and seems nice..but wants to start showing me the home filter system machine...then on to the vacumn and showed how it worked etc. I told him I just want to have you shampoo the carpet. He did a section in the middle of the room and then would stop and ask me how I liked it and would I buy it at a good price today.
I told him I do not buy on the spot...I like the way the shampoo machines worked...but, am not ready to buy as i need to go on line and check out this machine. I don't know you or your machine and how it compares to others. He said, a rude remark and then tried to change it...I told him that there are people out there that can't say no and thats who you sell to. Sales is sales and thats how you make your money.
I have a kirby that I have had a long time..but I have a hoover that I like a lot and does what I want.
He kept up the pressure and said, he would give me $700 for the kirby..so...by the time he left he was selling me the vacumn, pluse the filter for $1500 and said it was only good till nine tonight. he he
He said, in a rude voice enjoy your free shampoo. I told him to take his things and get out as I didnt like his attitude. I said, you not getting your way to you can act rude. We have 65percent seniors in our town. It would be easy to con some of them. I told him I belong to the red hats and I will tell all 200 of them how rude and pushy you are. He didn't like that and tried to be nice. I have had to fight for all I have...widow at an early age with seven children to raise...I had to be thirfty and not be taken advantage of. I guess it comes down to...just say no. I am a senior lady.
I am glad I looked up this vacumn on line...now I know not to buy.
I'm glad that I'm not alone. We were scammed into buying the same piece of crap for $2600.00. I guess they ripped you a litlle worse. What's even better is that if you add in the finance charges (assuming you don't pay it off early) you could be paying up to $5000.00 for it! What a rip! I am working on a way to get out of this but I have a feeling that it is a waste of time. I have tried contacting the company in Tampa where the salesman was supposedly from but they can't even find my contract. If anyone has had any luck returning this piece of crap please let me know!
VERY SCARY! GOOD THING YOU DID NOT LET THE PUSHY, OBNOXIOUS, OVERLY PRESSURED SCAM ARTIST IN YOUR HOUSE! HOPE YOUR NEIGHBOR DID'NT BUY ONE. BECAUSE MY HUSBAND AND I DID. WE ARE VERY FREINDLY PEOPLE AND ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP OUT. UNFORTUNNATELY WE WERE GREATLY SCAMMED AND FEEL REAL STUPID. WE ARE NOW PAYING $3000.00 FOR A VACUMN CLEANER THAT DOES NOT FUNCTION AS PRESENTED. IT CLEANS THE CARPET , BUT CAN BARELY PICK UP A HAIR OFF THE BARE FLOORS, EVERY TIME I PULL IT AROUND A CORNER IT FALLS OVER, THE TOOL HOLDER DOES NOT HOLD ALL OF THE TOOLS , YOU HAVE TO CARRY THEM AROUND IN YOUR POCKET. THE BAG CANNOT HOLD VERY MUCH DIRT WITHOUT THE SUCTION LOSING POWER, I COULD GO ON AND ON. OUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRESENTATION IS DUPLICATE OF EVERY ONE ELSE THAT GOT SCAMMED. BESIDES THE 80.00 WE PAY PER MONTH I STILL NEED TO PUCHASE ANOTHER VACUMN CLEANER THAT REALLY DOES WORK LIKE THE KENMORE I TRADED THAT WAS DOING A FINE JOB CLEANING! AND MY ALLERGIES ARE JUST THE SAME! ANY ONE OUT THERE KNOW HOW TO GET OUT OF A LOAN THAT YOU DO NOT WANT? SHAME ON US FOR TRYING TO HELP THE VERY NICE FREINDLY SALESMAN OUT, I SHOULD HAVE STUCK TO THE TEN TIMES I SAID NO! THERE SHOULD BE A LAW TO PUT THESE PEOPLE AND THERE SO CALLED COMPANYS AWAY. IF THEY WERE ABLE TO DO THIS TO MY HUSBAND ME, WHOM ARE EDUCATED HARD WORKING AMERICAN CITIZENS, I SHUTTER TO THINK HOW MANY ELDERLY AND FORIEIGN PEOPLE HERE IN OUR COUNTRY HAVE BEEN TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. THIS IS AN OUTRAGEOUS SCAM ON UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE! CAN'T ANYTHING BE DONE?!

Refunding nonfunctional juicer

SELLING BAD JACK LALANNE JUICER AND KEEPING THE MONEY
Factory refurbished power juicer express 49.99 + 5.99
MODEL #: MT-1020
SERIAL #: [protected]
DATE CODE: 1104
To Whom It May Concern:
I am a Canadian and my name is Julia. I am extremely disappointed in the customers’ service of one of your call centers at the following number [protected], pertaining to a refund of a bad product.
Sometime in mid September 2006, I bought a power juicer. I really liked the product then proceeded to purchase the power juicer express. When I called the Canadian shopping channel I was referred to the above number to order the cheaper refurbished Power Juicer express. Gladly I did so, when I received the product I could not get it to work, try as I may it did not work, I called for assistance and still no luck. I called to have the product replaced and was told, since it was coming from Canada I could not get a return label because of the customs issues at the border ( I’m guessing the depot would have to pay a customs fee like I did when I received it) so I was supposed to keep the non functional product. That was ok because I was getting it replaced. Little did I know that is where all my problems will start.
First call October 3rd 2006
I called about the replacement spoke to Eric and I was told it takes 10-15 days I waited and nothing.
October 27th 4:15 pm EST.
I called again and told the juiced was mailed out, so wait for it.
November 6th. 1:33pm EST.
I called back and was transferred to Eric; I still did not receive the juicer. I stated by November 23rd if I did not get the juicer I wanted to talk to a manager.
November 13th 2:45pm
I called back and was told a supervisor just check it and had to approved it to be shipped.
November 20th, 10 am
I called back and was told the juicer was shipped out on the 15th of November.
December 15th
Still patiently waiting, I called back and was told by Sandy it takes 21 days to get to Canada and I had to wait till the 28th. As you noticed I had been told that a lot.
You can tell I have been very patient all this time and if the calls were being recorded as they should, no one could tell your company I was being rude. I have worked in this kind of environment and know what the agents taking the call go through.
January 2nd 2007
I called back and after waiting all this time I requested a refund. The agent by the name of Payton or Paige explained it would be done. I explained why the product was not returned because of the customs border issue and I was told I would get my refund, and it would take a few days. So again I waited.
January 18th 2007
I called back about the refund for the second time and was asked if the juicer was returned, I had to explained all over again why it could not be returned, it seemed obvious to me the notes were not read of not written.
February 9th 2007 – between 12:30 -12:50pm,
I called again and spoke to Lisa, I was told to give it time to allow the refund to go through, so wait till about the 15th of February. She then told me the juicer that was sent to me (which I never received) will have to be tracked and that would take a week and a second label will have to be sent out. Again I agreed to wait.

Called again and spoke to Shelly and was told I had to wait and be patient. I tried to explain to her I was running out of patience, and the next time I called back if I did not receive the refund I wanted to talk to a manager. She proclaimed I was speaking to her like a child. I explained I was not and tried to get across my frustration of waiting and not receiving my refund.
March 12th approx 9:15am
I was waiting a long time and felt like I was getting the run around. I was not prepared to keep a defective produce and I really wanted my money back. I asked to talk to a manager, after waiting about 8 minutes she came back to say a manager was not available and I was going to get a call back, having a customer waiting that long was unacceptable. I wanted to know how this was possible in a call centre on a Monday morning there was not one manager to give me the time of day to resolve my issue.
March 19th 2007 4:20 pm EST
I spoke to Pamela and I wanted to know why I had not heard from the manager. She informed me the manager called me on the 12th of March at 9:15 Pst. time which is 12:15pm Est. time. I was home and don’t recall receiving a message on my machine or a call. Once again I was told that she personally was putting in the refund and I will have to wait till Wednesday the 21st March to see this on my visa.
This is an insane amount of time for a company to refund a defective product and give the customer such a hard time. I will not order any more of your products again and will pass the word around to everyone I know to do the same. I will send a copy of this letter to the Canadian shopping channel and advise them not to refer people to the number to order this product, and I will send a copy of this to the better business bureau in the USA to complain. The product your company is selling is not worth it and I will send this to Jack LaLanne to get my point across. Your customer service has been horrific.

I was recently hired to become a Tri-Star vacuum salesman (Not by choice. I'm in college and tuition is due). I've always hated salesmen, but now my hate is even stronger. Long story short, not only did the distributor lie about MY pay and ripped me off, but he is ripping off customers all across northern/central NY (Syracuse). The product is a great...

I rec'd a phone call telling me I won a $1,000 dollar shopping spree, and to receive it, I would have to listen to a sales-pitch on TriStar Vacuum cleaners. They told me I didn't have to buy anything, just listen to the presentation for 30 minutes, receive my shopping spree card and they'd be out of my hair. The salesman showed up, showed his presentation...

I totally agree. What a scam! I had the guy come to my house and try to sell me a vacuum . He was there for two hours and dropped his price from 3000 to 1500 in a matter or minutes, when I showed no interest.
He also promised me things such as I pod shuffle and digital cameras if I would buy this product.
So what is it really worth. $3000 or $1500 and some I pods and some cameras?
In the end I ended up with no vacuum or no FREE gift to this point. I sent my free gift (2 night accommodation) and it was the wrong address.
I have phoned the company [protected] several times but nobody knows the address where they work .LOL. I am still awaiting a phone call from a manager. Maybe he will give me a camera to make me happy or a free I pod instead of his address. LOL.
I intend to phone the Better Business Bureau to find out if this company is legit.
I promised my kids a 2 night stay in Collingwood, ON. I will make sure they get it.
I have OCD.!
Talk to you again tomorrow and the next day and the next day!
Thanks
You will know who?
Perhaps you should look up the definition of fraud before you complain about it. You did a survey that entitled the company to call you for follow up. Therefore, by doing the survey you gave consent to having your number released. So, nothing illegal there.
Next, the lady who spoke to you on the phone is required to follow a script. The script clearly indicates that a student will be asking for your opinion on the tristar when they drop off the free gift. No surprise there. If they didn't tell you that on the phone, students would be kicked out of houses every time they got there.
Next, the student did the demo for you and you recieved your free gift. Nobody forced you to buy anything, which you didn't.
So please, enlighten me: which part of obtaining your number legally, clearly indicating what will happen when you get your gift when you recieved the call, and reciving your free gift (which you agreed you did recieve) is misrepresentation or fraud?
