Uber Eats Uber Eats Driver Steals $85 Worth of Food - Company Fails to Take Action

I've been using Uber Eats for more than a year now, and I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with my recent experience. The other night, I asked my mom to order some food for our friends who were coming over for a pizza and wings party. We live in West Palm Beach, FL, and we have access to all kinds of food, so we decided to order from a local establishment. We placed the order earlier in the day, and we were supposed to receive it at 8:30 pm.

However, at 8:30 pm, we got an alert saying that our order had been cancelled. I immediately called the restaurant to ask them what had happened, and they told me that they had made the food and an Uber driver had come to pick it up. However, shortly after he picked it up, he cancelled the order on his end. I was shocked and angry. I contacted customer support for Uber Eats and demanded an explanation. I was starting to believe that this person had just stolen our order, which was worth $85.

I asked if they knew who the driver was, and they said yes. I demanded an explanation, but they told me that they were not able to reach the driver. They assured me that we were not charged for this order, but I told them that this was not enough. We had people here expecting food, and it was Friday night. Not only that, but this employee should not only be terminated, but this is a serious offence. I was in the middle of sending a text when he said to me that I was no longer speaking to him and he was ending our chat, even though the 3 dots were up as I was typing.

I have told everyone I know about this severe issue, and I will not rest until it reaches the media. I have lost all of my faith in a company that stands behind employees and theft. I will personally never order with them again, and I have spent over $200 in the last 3 months with this company. Being a 2.5 billion dollar company, I know they do not care about that, but they have lost a faithful customer who has a wide range of friends in South Florida. We are sick to our stomachs over this, and I hope this employee is terminated if not prosecuted for this illegal activity.

Uber Eats Uber Eats: Mistakes Happen, But Apparently So Do Refunds

Yo, so I gotta say, Uber Eats ain't all that great. Like, I get it, mistakes happen and all that, but when you're paying for something, you expect to get what you paid for, right? But apparently, there's a limit to how many times you can complain and expect a refund. I don't even know what that limit is, but apparently, I've reached it.

Every time I've complained, it's been because I didn't get what I ordered. Like, the restaurant forgot to put something in the bag, or the driver delivered it to the wrong house, or someone else's order got delivered to me by mistake. It's not like I'm just complaining for the sake of it, you know?

So, yesterday morning, I ordered from Timmies through Uber Eats. The driver comes and drops off someone else's order. Like, come on, man, that's a pretty simple mistake to make, right? So, I try calling the driver twice, but he doesn't answer, so I click "help" on my app, submit a picture of the receipt on the order we received, and re-order. I mean, we were all hungry, so I had no doubt I would get my refund later.

But hours later, I get this generic "we're sorry, we've passed on your feedback" email. Like, what the heck, man? So, I try to find another way to contact Uber about it, but there's no phone number, so I try Facebook Messenger. I send a screenshot of the email and explain the situation. They ask for more information and say they'll look into it.

And then, I get this response: "We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Looking at your account, we've noticed that you have multiple requests for refunds and adjustments on your orders. We've also made a note about this issue and be sure that your feedback has been heard regarding this matter. We have processes in place to review this type of feedback with restaurants and the delivery drivers, so your concern hasn't gone unnoticed. We appreciate your understanding."

Like, are you kidding me? A driver drops off the wrong order, and I can't get a refund because I've requested refunds too often? That's just ridiculous. Mistakes happen, man. That's just part of being human.

Honestly, there are better services out there anyways. Uber Eats just lures me in with their deals sometimes, but I definitely won't be using it again.

Uber Eats Terrible Experience with Uber Eats in Pleasanton, CA - Do Not Use!

My experience with Uber Eats in Pleasanton, California was absolutely insane. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use this app in this town. I suggest using Door Dash or any other food delivery service instead. Recently, I ordered over $80 worth of food from a reputable restaurant, but I never received my order. When I finally got ahold of someone on the help line, she told me that the order had already been delivered and that the driver left a note saying they couldn't get through my apartment gate, so they left it on the road outside. She apologized for my "frustration," but couldn't do anything because the order said it was "delivered." I fought with Uber Eats for two days afterward and was finally refunded. However, I found out that they had tipped the driver $24 from my account without my authorization and failed to refund me. The driver didn't even attempt to contact me when all that happened, just dumped the food on the side of the road and somehow got a $24 tip.

More recently, I ordered a simple burrito bowl from Chipotle through Uber Eats and asked for steak with lettuce and salsa, no rice. However, I received about 5 sprigs of lettuce, a giant scoop of guacamole and sour cream, and no steak. I figured I'd just be done with Uber Eats since it was only a $12 bowl and the delivery fee was only 49 cents. Then, I received an email showing that I was charged $25.60. I immediately took a picture and chatted with Cate, who told me she would escalate this to management and I need not do anything more. They will contact me via email. However, 48 hours later, they sent me two identical emails telling me they are sorry for my "frustration," but cannot refund me. All I asked for was an adjustment given the fact that I didn't even get what I ordered. I wrote them a second time and received the exact same message. "Frustration" doesn't even cut it.

Needless to say, I'll never use Uber Eats in this area again and will steer everyone I know away from using that service here. The quality control is non-existent, and the time it takes to get your money back is completely unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and, at least in Pleasanton/Dublin California, delete the Uber Eats App and don't look back.

Uber Eats Disappointing Experience with Uber Eats: Poor Customer Service and Refund Issues

I recently had an experience with Uber Eats that left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. I had previously used GrubHub, but after a technical error caused me to be logged out, I decided to give Uber Eats a try. Unfortunately, my experience with Uber Eats was not a positive one.

Firstly, I had an issue with a restaurant cancelling my order. Uber Eats was supposed to refund the money to my account, but the refund never went through. Despite showing as a pending transaction in my bank account, Uber Eats kept my money and did not even credit it to my Uber Eats account. This has never happened to me with GrubHub, as they always refund my money automatically, whether I cancel the order or the restaurant cancels it.

But the final straw for me was the poor customer service I received from the delivery drivers. One young lady refused to come inside my air-conditioned apartment building to deliver my food, insisting that I come outside to her instead. And a rude young man who showed up a day later claimed he did not know how to turn a corner in my small complex to find my building address. He even threw my straw on the ground when I told him he needed to turn the corner to find my building. This behavior was unacceptable and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Overall, I will not be using Uber Eats again in the future. It reminds me too much of my bad experience with Door Dash and the shady, dishonest people they tend to hire. GrubHub has always provided me with the best food experience, and I will never leave again. Uber Eats may be a more upscale version of Door Dash, but that's not saying much. If you're looking for a reliable food delivery service, I would recommend GrubHub over Uber Eats any day.

Uber Eats Disappointing Experience with Uber Eats and Spicy Chen Asian Bistro: Poor Service and Rude Representative

I recently used Uber Eats to order some Asian food while traveling in Houston on a Friday. My wife and I were excited to try out the Spicy Chen Asian Bistro, but unfortunately, our experience was not a good one. Firstly, we were charged $4 each for two drinks that were not delivered. When my wife ordered three spring rolls, nobody bothered to confirm if she wanted three orders or a total of three spring rolls. As a result, we ended up with 12 spring rolls, which was not what we wanted. This is dishonest and wrong, and it left a bad taste in our mouths.

To make matters worse, the restaurant did not provide us with any paper plates or plastic ware, despite the fact that we were staying in a hotel. If it were my restaurant, I would train my employees to ask customers if they need plates, napkins, and utensils, or if they want a certain number of spring rolls. This is just common sense and good customer service. Unfortunately, the Spicy Chen Asian Bistro did not provide any of this, and we were left feeling disappointed and frustrated.

To add insult to injury, when we contacted Uber Eats to complain about the missing drinks and the incorrect order, we were met with a rude and arrogant representative named Jenn. She refused to credit our bill for the things we didn't receive, and she made the situation worse by being unhelpful and dismissive. This is not the kind of customer service we expect from a company like Uber Eats, and it left us feeling even more frustrated.

Overall, I would not recommend using Uber Eats or ordering from the Spicy Chen Asian Bistro. The food was over the top salty, and my chicken fried rice was awful. There were many uncooked grains of rice and skinny little pieces of chicken that tasted more like eating a sun-dried clam. It was not good, and the restaurant did not seem to care that our order was incorrect. As a result, I will never consider using Uber Eats again, and I will warn others about the poor quality of food and service at the Spicy Chen Asian Bistro.

To Jenn at Uber: I suggest finding a different line of work, as your rude and arrogant attitude is not helpful and only serves to damage the company's reputation. I will be posting this review on multiple sites to warn others about my experience, and I hope that others will take my warning seriously. My son, who is in college out of state, read my review and said, "Uber Eats never gets it right, dad!" This is not the kind of reputation that any company wants, and I hope that Uber Eats will take steps to improve their service and customer support in the future.

Uber Eats Disastrous Experience with Uber Eats: Three Drivers Canceled My Order and Charged Me for Nothing

I've been using Uber Eats for quite some time now and I must say, I've never had any issues with their service. I haven't tried their competitors yet, but I'm pretty satisfied with what Uber Eats has to offer. However, my recent experience with them was a complete disaster. I had a couple of botched orders and their customer service was not as excellent as it used to be. It's sad to say that I won't be using their delivery service anymore.

Just yesterday, I ordered some food from MacDonalds through Uber Eats. I was surprised when three different drivers accepted my order and even traveled to the restaurant. I was tracking their movements through the app and I saw that they were already at the store. But to my dismay, each driver canceled the job upon arriving at the restaurant. I was confused and frustrated. I couldn't understand what was going on. After the third driver canceled, my delivery time jumped forward another hour. I couldn't wait any longer, so I decided to cancel my order. It had already been an hour, and there was no driver on the job at that time.

To my surprise, Uber charged me for the entire order, including "compensation for the delivery driver" who never did the job and wasn't currently assigned. I was shocked and angry. I called MacDonalds to check what was going on, and they informed me that my order had been sitting on their bench for an hour, and no driver had been there. I had no choice but to pack my two sick kids in the car and drive to the restaurant myself. I collected my cold, soggy "hot" cakes and hash brown and my cold, curdled coffee and returned home. The coffee was tipped down the sink, and the inedible soggy food was also disposed of. This was not MacDonalds' fault, but what in earth was Uber doing?

I contacted Uber to ask for a refund of my $27, but they declined, telling me that it did not meet the criteria for a refund based on the information I provided. I was furious. What didn't meet their criteria? The fact that I had to drive down and collect the order myself? Or the fact that three separate drivers failed to collect an order that was ultimately inedible? I paid nearly $30 for this disgusting "service," and this is typical of Uber's business practice of late.

I'm extremely disappointed with Uber Eats, and I don't recommend their service to anyone. I'll be using Menu Log or Door Dash from now on.

Uber Eats Disappointing Experience with Uber Eats: Bait and Switch Tactics and Poor Customer Service

I'm really starting to dislike Uber Eats. It all starts from the beginning of the experience. When you're trying to decide where to order from, Uber Eats gives you a window of time that the restaurant can fill your order. But every time I've placed an order, the delivery window ends up being longer than what was advertised. I don't appreciate being baited and switched, but if I'm hungry enough and the extra time isn't too annoying, I won't cancel my order.

Tonight was no different. Ten minutes after placing my order, I got a notification on the app that said, "Oops, there has been a problem." There were no other details given, and the latest delivery time went from 10 minutes longer than advertised to 37 minutes longer than advertised when I placed my order. I tried to get in touch with a human through the app on my phone, but the process was needlessly annoying and did nothing to calm me down as I waited for 15 more minutes after the app said I was being connected to a customer service rep!

Why doesn't Uber Eats understand that if a customer is angry enough to contact customer service, it's in the company's best interest to not make the experience even worse? The customer service rep on the app stopped responding after a few questions, leaving me without answers, satisfaction, or enough time to cancel my order.

So my food arrived 57 minutes after I ordered it instead of the 20 minutes that was advertised, and it came in damaged packaging and was ice cold. That would have been fine if I had ordered ice cream, but I ordered a hot meal.

I don't know who will read this review, but if you're anything like me, you don't see any reason to pay for the privilege of being told that substandard and ineffective delivery service is worth the expense just so you can order something other than pizza or Chinese food. Uber Eats, if you're listening or reading, the service you provide is not worth the fees you charge. If it were possible to take legal action over your bait and switch tactics at the time of ordering, I would be more than happy to meet your lawyers in court.

As it is, I'll have to settle for writing this review and copying it to every online forum I can find.

Uber Eats UberEats--2 Consecutive Wrong Deliveries on Same Day

My daughter, kristi livingston, wanted to surprise her dad for father's day today by having lunch delivered to him. Evidently a code was supposed to be given to the driver to make sure he was delivering to the right address. They left the food outside someone's front door (not ours); my daughter had to place a second order. They told her they handed the order to me; again, they did not ask for a code. I'm not sure who received either of her orders, but it certainly wasn't her dad. She's a single working mom with two kids, so she certainly doesn't have $60 to just throw away. She was told she would not receive any refunds. This is so wrong. I will use every avenue possible (to include a congressional letter to my congressman) to get the word out about your horrendous customer service. You should be ashamed. Joyce t. Uber Eats Failure to provide promised refund

The restaurant from which I ordered fish and chips on June 4th (Oak Bay Seafood) through my Uber Eats App cancelled my original order to allow me to immediately make another order that included an additional piece of halibut. The Uber Eats App noted the cancellation and went on to say that, because I had already been charged ($37.83) for the cancelled order, a refund would be issued in 3-10 business days. (see screenshot of App message below). After waiting 10 days with no refund being issued, I contacted Uber Eats through the help function on the App, only to be told that no refund could now be issued because I had not contacted them within 48 hours of making the order. Notwithstanding repeated attempts to point out that it made no sense for me to contact them within this time frame given the commitment I had previously received to be provided a refund within 10 business days, I kept getting formula responses through the help chat saying that no refund could be issued because I had not contacted them within 48 hours of placing the order.

Desired outcome: I would like Uber Eats to honour the commitment made to provide me a refund for the cancelled order.

Uber Eats Not being able to use my uber cash balance for my food order

I purchased a giftcard on 06/14/23 on the Uber eats app all went good redeemed it no problem shows I have a +61.00 in my Uber cash account go to check out grant it the total for my order including all the fees and tip my total came to 53.00 I thought no problem my Uber cash balance is 61.00 enough to cover the order plus I have a debit card, a credit card, a PayPal and a Venmo account that in my wallet and I even have my Apple Pay in my Uber eats wallet go to hit the next button and I get error after error after error messages not allowing me to checkout out I have chatted with them through their app with no answers I’ve charged my password I’ve installed and reinstalled the app I’ve even tried to use their website same error messages keep popping up no not allowing my order to go through so basically Uber eats has no stolen my Uber cash balance because they can’t fix this issue I’ve even talked to a human with their 800 and the woman was sooo rude to me that I just finally hung up the phone and she actually called me right back to call me a [censored] and then she hung up I’ve gotten to the point of emailing so many times because no they don’t email me back and just now they emailed in all CAPS do not reply to this email we can not fix your issue so I guess I’m out 60.00 they are a horrible company!

Desired outcome: Either refund my 61.00 or tell me how I can use my balance to order my food and not have it keep giving me error messages

Uber Eats Uber eats drivers

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the delivery service provided by your company for my recent order. I placed an order through to the  platform, and I have experienced significant issues and delays throughout the entire process.

Firstly, I want to highlight that the initial driver assigned to pick up my order took more than 30 minutes to arrive at the restaurant, but he cancel and sespite the delay, I patiently awaited the arrival of the other driver, hoping for a satisfactory resolution.

However, to my dismay, after a significant amount of time had passed, I received a notification that the driver had been changed again. This switch in drivers only added to the frustration I was already experiencing. The new driver also faced delays and failed to arrive promptly, further prolonging the delivery process.

Regrettably, after waiting for an exhausting two hours, the driver did not show up, and my order was still not delivered. The lack of communication and transparency regarding the status of my order during this time was highly disappointing. I attempted to seek assistance from your customer service agents, but their response was unsatisfactory and unhelpful. They advised me to wait until the next arrival time in case stil delay to contact them again.

Given the excessive delay and poor service I have endured, I have no choice but to request the cancellation of my order. However, this solution does not address the inconvenience, frustration, and wasted time I have experienced throughout this ordeal. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism and accountability demonstrated by your company and its representatives.

I expect immediate action to rectify this situation. Firstly, I demand a full refund for my order, as I have not received the services I paid for. Additionally, I urge you to thoroughly investigate this matter to identify the root causes of such poor service and take the necessary steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. It is essential that you hold your drivers and customer service agents accountable for their actions, as their behavior reflects directly on your company's reputation.

I hope for a prompt resolution to this matter. Failure to address my concerns adequately will leave me no choice but to escalate this complaint to higher authorities and share my negative experience with online consumer platforms. I believe in giving companies the opportunity to rectify their mistakes, and I sincerely hope that you will take the necessary steps to restore my faith in your organization.

Uber Eats Items delivered to wrong address

In the last two days my wife and I have been getting deliveries from uber eats. We have not ordered anything, do not even have to app, but get food delivered. I would like to be able to have the deliveries stopped. Yesterday the drivers, 2 of them rang the doorbell. Today’s driver dropped the order, did not ring the doorbell and just dropped the bagged food on the sidewalk.

Uber Eats Scam

Hello, I'm tired of this right now. I've sent several complaints about this order and I still haven't had a response. You guys are purposely doing this and it's obvious, people wouldn't want to order from Uber eats after hearing about bad reviews. I won't stop contacting or might start giving bad reviews till I get a refund, this is blatantly unfair to customers that just wanted to get their food. The problem was in my McDonald's order that I already said 3 other times on the app. I'll repeat it again, mcflurry spilt on the bag making my chips soggy (inedible) and the mcflurry dripping down the bag which I noticed when I saw my floor getting dropped everywhere I walked.

Order number 1050E. Hope this email gets in the right hands with someone who can take control of the situation.

Uber Eats Cancellation

On May 21, 2023, I cancelled an order 5 minutes after making it. It was confirmed cancelled immediately. There was no option given stating I would still need to pay for the food if I wanted to opt out of cancelling. There was simply a confirmation it was cancelled and no food was delivered. When I was charged anyway, I reached out to Uber Eats thinking it was an oversight. . They said I had to pay anyway because my food was already being prepared. They could have at least told me that & given me the option of paying for no food or receiving it. They just cancelled & kept cash. Very angry!

Uber Eats Their terrible service

On Sunday, 14th of May. I purchased a street wise meal from Kfc. uber eats was the delivery company, and after placing my order, about an hour later and I became rather annoyed by how long I had to wait for my food... keep in mind that I did not have breakfast, so I was starving by then. I called kfc in Adderley street, Cape Town, and was informed that my meal was cancelled by Uber eats, without an explanation. so I was stuck at work all day, without any form of apology in any way... id like to let everyone know that I spent all day without food, from 6am - 6pm and for a highblood sufferer as myself it was a very unpleasant moment.

Uber Eats Refund for cancellation not received

I have been a regular customer of UberEats and I have never experienced any issues until recent. I made an order of $50.37 on the 27th April. The order was cancelled by the merchant and I was told that I would receive a refund for the same but I have yet to see the refund processed. I have attempted to reach out to UberEats several times via chat and phone, but the chats and calls keep getting disconnected, leaving the issue unresolved.

After multiple attempts, one of your customer service agents informed me that the transaction doesn't reflect on the system and that I would be transferred to another department to address the issue. She said I will be receiving a follow up email regarding the issue. However, I never received an email or call regarding the matter. While drafting this email, I attempted to locate the chat on my UberEats app, but was unable to find it.

This morning, I attempted to contact customer service again and spoke with a representative named Chahit (screenshot of the chat attached below). Unfortunately, Chahit informed me that a refund cannot be issued as it has been more than 48 hours since the cancellation. To make matters worse, Chahit abruptly ended the chat, stating that he had provided the best possible resolution and there were no further options available to address my issue. I felt as though someone had slammed the door shut in my face. I have contacted customer service several times before, and I have never experienced anything like this. Normally, the representatives have been great and have never ended a chat without asking if the issue was resolved or if there was anything else they could do to assist. In addition to the frustration of being charged for something I never received, I found the representative's behavior to be extremely rude and unprofessional.

I attempted to resolve this issue by calling UberEats customer service twice this morning and explained the situation to both representatives. The first representative heard me out and put me on hold to check my account. Unfortunately, the call got disconnected while on hold. I called again and spoke with another representative who essentially said the same thing and put me on hold as well. I explained to her that my calls and chats were getting disconnected multiple times and requested that she contact me if the system dropped my call again. She agreed, but I never received a call.

As an employee myself, I understand that time is valuable, and I cannot spend my entire day trying to resolve a $50 problem by calling and seeking help. Like all representatives working at UberEats, I have other obligations and responsibilities to attend to. I am not sure what is the efficient way to resolve the issue.

Uber Eats Negative resolution

Uber eats commits petty larceny at the customer support level.

Received an email from uber eats that stated I was being charged for a cancelled order because the merchant had already started the order, untrue I immediately called the merchant to let them know I placed the order at the wrong location and do not proceed with the order. I was instructed to contact uber eats or use the app to cancel. Which I immediately did. Today I found a notice in my email of a cancellation charge for $18.67. I contacted the merchant appleby's greer, sc location and spoke to the manager kenny. He told me that they do not charge cancellation fees on product, even if the food is prepared. It's just not policy. I then contacted uber eats. Attached are the snaps of the (so-called) support chat. Chats are sequentially labeled from 72-84 disregard missing snaps as they are unrelated to these.

Uber Eats Unauthorized Tipping

I placed an order and I was not pleased with the service the delivery person provided. I went on the UberEats app and rated the service with a thumbs down! Next thing I know I got a email saying thank you for your tip. I never tipped. I immediately reached out to an UberEats representative and told them I have a UNAUTHORIZED TIP added on my account. This representative took their time responding and they said they will put in a ticket for me and that someone will be emailing me shortly. It has been 2 days now where they still have had nobody email me to provided me with a resolution.

Desired outcome: To be refunded or provided credit!

If they do not refund me my money or provide me with a store credit then I will be forced to do an entire chargeback for the full amount.
