hello, I have a complaint to file in regards to store # 19288 East Providence RI - The employee is Christine - the blond manager on weekends @ this location. SHe is rude, incompetent and has absolutely no concept of basic math and she should be fired. I have NEVER made a complaint before, but this cant go unnoted.
I was there last night and spent around $260. one of my purchases was Mens Hanes shirts - they were on sale for 3 shirts for 10 dollars. but when the girl (young cashier - not involved) tried to ring them up - they were coming up at the full price of 5.50 per shirt. At this point the girl giot the shift lead manager - Christine I believe is her name - mid 's tattoos, heavy smoker) so she came over and tells me that "the sale ended at 7PM so you have to pay full price?" What? I tell her there are tickets Literally all over the isle stating the sale price and that right now was only 8PM. After looking, she agrees to honor the sale price after telling me that shes doing me a favor - OK. I told her repeatedly that the other girl ALREADY rand them full price, but she either didnt listen or didnt understand and priceeded to add on a bunch of 550 charges and try to adjust or fix them and clearly didnt know how to or didnt have a concept of basic math (maybe a combination of both) which ended up with me being charged - Get this - 6 times at 550, she minues 2 if them and adjusted the 3rd to 1.00- basically charging me 23.00 for 3 shirts that were on sale for 10. get it? so, there was a long line and I am trying to look thru my receipt but its late and im holding peopel up, and im told that "discounts and adjustments come off after so its fine" after I pay - I know something is wrong - I tried to show the manager that did it but she runs outside to smoke instead leaaving me there for like 10 minutes and then comes in arguing with me that she fixed it and if I dont understand (yeah ME-) to come tomorrow to talk to the manager, Michelle. OK, I begged her to get a calculator BTW.
NExt day, I go back to the store - I decide to fully just take the shirts back as well as 3 pairs of pants totalling 32.00. My mom comes with me and goes to take care of the exchange and this same manager (Christine) tells my mom that I cant exchange it because she already gave me a discount the night previous! Not realizing that im standing right there - OK, so I go and tell her to LOOK AT THE RECEIPT - Yes, you gave me somewhat of a discount on 2 of them and charged me 3 more times full price and then another 1.00 and another 5.00.3 shirts @ 10.00 was sale price. My reciept shows"5.50 5.50 5.50 5.50- 1.00 5.50 5.50 5.50- 5.00" im no math wiz but pretty sure that equals $22.50- I just was trying to make her understand, but Like she truly didnt get this. Yes you gave da discount on 1 of them and then took 50 cents off the other, and charged me full price 3 more times-Then back and forth complete confusion. and then she tries to give me the $ for only 2 pairs of pants (gave her 3) she lost the 3rd and then finds them on the floor (where she put them) and then she cant figure out how to refund the pants because 1 was sold without a tag - OMG - FINALLY she gets 3 pairs of pants on the refund, but then still is telling me that she can only refund 2 shirts (even tho I gave her 3 and was charged for 6 or 7 if you count the one she charged a buck for) because she already discounted them last night - OH MY GOD - im like JUST LOOK AT THE RECEIPT - for Heavens sakes - I understand im taking back 3 shirts, you charged me a total of 6 times, I understand you gave a discount on 2 of the 6, I get it - LOOK AT THE RECEIPT - I beg over and over, NOPE, what does she do? hands me $43 and again - runs out the door yelling that she is "stressed and has to smoke" really she did this. Then I left to go outside and my mother says 43? the pants alone were 32? so she gave me 11 dollars back on shirts that she charged 23 for - OK, she CLEARLY still owes me 12 bucks, its so obvious, so we go to show her and she starts YELLING at me and calling me crazy and OCD - im ocd because I want my money back? the CORRECT amount? What? then accuses me of sending my mother in for me? I did that because I truely didnt want to argue with this woman in case the other manager wasnt there. If she Just looked at the recepit compared to what the return recept said she would get it - finally FINALLY as im begging her for a copy of the return receipt or a calculator, I finaly ger her to realize (doing the math out loud) that she gave me the wrng amount back - she aadmits it and tells me that "it must have been tax and we dont refund the tax" again WHAT? since when does 40 of merch have 13 in tax anyway? I pid 9 bucks in tax from the entire bill fo $250 the night before - anyway - she fights and argues and tells me that im wrong and that I shouldnt have come back in that I have to "let it go" No - I explained that had it been done properly last night, that I wouldnt have to even BE here. Did I mention that at 1 point she took the recepit and drew large REd circles around everything - so she clearly should have seen the error and she at some point told me that I was giving her a headache and refused to let me have a copy of the return receipt-she tells me to come back to talk to the manager - I said I thought YOU were the manager-No the other manager she says - so I ask for a copy of the return receipt so I have proof that she gave me back the wrong amount and after telling me NO, I said I wanted to just see it - and when she took it out I took a pic with my camera - so I do have proof. after All this, instead of apologizing to us, she berates me again and says something about the night before so I did advise her to maybe invest in a calculator - its basic math - and my Mom said to have a nice day and she yelled that "customers are so annoying, she hates us and told my mother to"Go [censored] Herself" Yes, she did. My 70 year old mother, who only came with me because she ran the service dwsk at Walmart for years and I wanted her to explain my messed up receipt - she swore ar her and my mom said we would be contacting corporate. there is more of this back and firth but you get the message - im still short like 12.00 abd I can send you copies of the receipts.
again for a recap - this manager Christine needs to be fired. Normally I would say retraining and math lessons and a calculator, but there is no excuse for her behavior. Forget the excessive smoking and lack of math and/ or customer service skills, you dont blame the customer and you certainly dont swear at them. also, the store still owes me 12 dollars PLUS TAX-

Hello, I went to a DOllar General (Store #19288) last night East Providemnce RI. AMong the things I ourchased were 3 t-shirts for 10 dollars. WHen I got to the register, the T-shirts did not ring in correctly - they were charging me $550 per shirt. I asked the girl to get a manager to help with the price override and this is when things went bad. This manager, Christine (blond 50's tattoos, smoker, etc) she comes over and says that "the sale ended at 7pm so they are back to regular price (this is like 830pm?) Ugh, ok, well I tell her that there are tags Everywhere staing 3 for 10- So she agrees to"do me a favor"and charge the stating price. She proceeds to try over and over and over to get the 3 for 10 priceing in and cant get it - cant figure out basic math or the DG system and after a few minutes tells me its"all set". I knew - KNEW it was going to be messed up-but there were other cutomers and I was holding up the line. Anyway, after she goes to ring up more customers, I finish my prurchases, but before I paud, I tried to look up the price of the shorts on the electronic receipt, but was told that"sales and adjustments show up After you finish. OK, so I pay the bill but before I leave I look at y receipt and Guess what? its showing that she charrges me t shirts @ (full price) then overrode one to charge dollar and then took off of the charges and then rang up anpther at 5. oo So basically a total of 23 in extra charges.
I went to the store to fix the issue this morning and she started a fight with me and my mother! HOnest to God - she first told my Mom that she "took care of the issue last night" I told her tyes, but AFTER the other girl charged me ftimes at full price, then you tried to fix it by somehow charging me a dollar and then 2 more 5.5 charges, LOL if she would have just gotten a calculator and olooked at my receipt we wouldnt be here. She proceeded to call me OCD and Crazy and then tell my mother to go [censored] Herself! Yes and somehow in the middle of this all - she rand from the store to smoke because she was "Soo stressed" Are you KIDDING me! in my years I have never EVER EVER been treaated like this by a store manager or employee of any kind.
