Prices.
Your prices on some mens jogging pants are out to lunch. They are pants I can get at Walmart for the same price. Also you need to have your washrooms open at all times. I have issues with my stomach and they are closed. I understand the kind of people who use but we should not have to suffer. Also dressing rooms at least 2. Your prices are getting to high. I saw curtains in there hat were 9 dollars each. They are 9 dollars at Giant tiger. All these clothes are all donated. I used to spend around 600 a month not anymore. Way to high priced. I see clothing stained unacceptable. And bathing suits should be out all year round.
Service manager
The manager at the Store St in Victoria BC, named Rashinka or Rashnika (NOT SURE HOW TO SPELL the name), but she the most rude, unprofessional and definitaly not fitted to be a manager!. She never listen to women customers, walk away while the politly talk, never looks at you or make eye contact, and even refused to give me a coupon after donating a large bag of clothing. Later same day she was laughing and flirting with 3 men customers..complectly ignored another women customer who was waiting to ask something! Wow that is literally not a person who is suited to be a manager, she is a female customer hater, and flirting with men in the work time! WOW, how is this allowed!
Desired outcome: 50% off coupon and possibly denite the manager to employee. I am sure you find someone who is a lot nicer and happy to help customers!
Employee treatment
We work in a hot warehouse and we have to stand we are made to work only 29 hours a week no more no less so that we only can take one 15 minute break a day and now they're taking our privileges to use the fan away and we are having to stand in a hot warehouse and sweat to death while hanging these clothes for them they have it where we cannot progress make raises and move ahead in the company only say $9 an hour always no room to progress. It's slavery I'm at Buford store . I'd like to remain anonymous cuz I need my job. .[censored]ty as it may. Be.
Desired outcome: Better treatment of employees
Exchanged item
I could care less about $2 but it was my $2. I earned it by filling out a survey and I used it as partial payment on an item. I had to return the item and picked out something of equal value. The cashier said I had to pay $1.06 because they had clawed back my $2. That was my $2 I felt I had earned it, how dare they keep it. I tried arguing with the staff, but they said it was their policy. I do not intend to shop there again. They claim to give to charity but they don't give very much. They get all their products given to them and then charge ridiculous prices for old used items to make themselves rich.
I am not happy with Value Village and their policy.
Desired outcome: Change their policy, once a person has earned a coupon it should be applied to anything they want to buy. Not clawed back
Savers Value Village
I went to the store to buy something and there was this supervisor named Betty who acted so rude with me that she was like, "Don't pay here to me, go pay on the other cashier!" It's when I was asked from the other cashier to go to her. Her facial expression was really fierce too! She should be fired since she acts so rude with everyone. She just didn't act like this to me, she had acted like this with my wife before too. There should be something done about her.
On my 68th birthday, I decided to go to Value Village in Richmond Hill
I spent 83.85 on 13 items. The store was packed because of the senior discount. In any case, the lady behind me was pestering me to hurry up. In the event I forgot to get my senior's discount.
After about an hour, taking a bus home, with all the items, reached home. I realized I had forgotten to get my senior's discount. I went back to the store, in Richmond Hill, and showed her my receipt. At that point in time it was about an hour past. The Manager and Supervisor asked me to buy a couple of things more and they would be able to reimburse me. So I did. With the items in hand, not paid for, they asked me where were the other 13 items! There is no way I would be able to lug the 13 items by bus. I was exhausted at this point. I had my receipt and don't understand why I could not get my 20% discount.
I donate to Value Village all of the time. This is so frustrating.
Desired outcome: I would like to get my 20% back on the $83 I spent. I would like to enclose a copy of the receipt and my Driver's Licence, to show it was my birthday.
If you want the community to serve you, you owe a duty of care to us.
I am trying to purchase sweaters by the bag, but I can't get any traction from Value Village. You have an economy of scale that owes a duty of care to serve the communities you serve, first, but you are shipping sweaters out of the country that don't sell off the rack, when you know there are people in every community that purchase unsold sweaters, by the bag, to make new clothing for people in the community.
Employee
On Sept 14,2022, my son and I decided to go to value village and just about when we were ready to leave and go to the cash, this Lady, who is the store manager or shift supervisor. Her name is Margerite, I believe. She said I had to leave yge store and was not allowed to shop there anymore.
First of all I'd like to say is I have shipped there for years and I donated and continue to donate thousands of dollars in donations from my house when I moved, and it was literally a entire house stretched over 3 months, not including the furniture. Clothes by the bags full.
It all seems from an incident where I gave a ride to some people I barely new to the store, because we had all met together through mutual friends. I was leaving with my son to go and they asked to tag along.
We more or less split up and did our out thing once we were there. I did not know or see that one of them was intending on stealing. I was actually making my way to the front as the store was about to close when I heard alot of yelling coming from the back and alot of crashing sounds. Apparently one of the guys I gave a ride to grabbed a bunch of stuff and ran out the back exit, in the back of the store. I had no idea he was going to do that, nor did I have any part in it. I didn't even realize it was him they were talking about at first. I didn't think anything of it until I asked Margerite what had happened, by this time I was already standing in the line to pay for my stuff. She come running out and said someone had just ran out the back and to phone the police. I payed for my stuff, and went outside to load my truck, and as im returning the shopping cart the security guard approached me and asked who he was, I explained I didn't know his last name and that I had no idea that was going to happen. He didn't believe me at first, but after I explained a bit more he said it was fine. So we left. We did not run into that guy again at all after thar. I have no idea where he went, he apparently doesn't have a stable place to live, so he couch hops. Like I said I had no idea he was going to do that, nor did I participate in any way. I was there with my son. He was even confused as to why we were told to leave the store yesterday. All over something that took place almost 2 years ago, and I've shopped there since, however she seems to have issue with it while Noone else does. I didn't commit any crime so why am I banned. She was there, she saw me standing in the line, I was talking to her about it. Figuring out as I go what the situation really is. The security guard said absolutely nothing about not being aloud to come back. Plus I've been back, I shop there all the time. Two or three times a week, and all of a sudden she says I'm banned. That seems rather unfair, and for what? I didn't even do anything. Only thing that put me in the senario was that the security guard remembered seeing him get out of my truck, which was parked directly in front. So it put us together that way. And yes I admit I gave them a ride to the store, but like I said before we went our separate ways once inside.
I'm asking that this so called be ban be taken away and her be told I can shop there without any hassle. I have not associated with any of those people at all since that day 18+ months ago. I do not wish to be associated with that sort of trouble at all.
I am a long time customer, and the staff all recognize me, including her as a regular customer, I've never had any problems or issues before so even with an explanation she still won't alow it. Not right.
I would like to hear back about this matter as quickly as possible. I'd like to return to my favorite store.
My name is Maggie
My phone number is [protected]
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for you time and consideration.
Sincerely
Maggie.
Desired outcome: To be able to return to the store to shop there without issue.
it doesnt seem like anyone is getting issues resolved / so whats the point of this complaint service ? i do have a huge problem please reply to me thk u !
Service
I wanted to purchase a Star Wars knife set out of the locked glass cabinet. I wasn’t done my shopping, stated I would be purchasing. I expected the item to be held for a few minutes while I completed looking around. I never expected to take the item with me but the same that has occurred for as long as I have shopped at Value Village (years), they would put aside behind the cash or showcase. On this day, even though I clearly stated I would purchase the $40 Star Wars steak knives - I was told they were putting back in the showcase and if someone wants them - too bad for me. I was shocked! As the associate was putting it back into the cabinet I raised my voice and said fine, if you don’t want me to purchase anything else, I would rake right now. I stood in line and the gentleman in front of myself started stating how ridiculous this store was. “The manager” raises her voice and told us “that was enough”. Once I was at cash, I clarified if she was indeed the manager. I asked to use any rewards I had as I wouldn’t be back. “The manager” came over and accused me of who knows what she said and that she is only following the rules. I asked how long as even she had put aside the item during Covid even though she blamed Covid rules.
Desired outcome: I want an apology and rules should be clearly marked. I’m also not sure why my $40 for a donated item wasn’t good enough.
Their zero tolerance policy
I worked there and walked out because a team member threatened me by saying that something might happen to me. And again on the nite I was afraid and quit. Also, the amount of theft and druggie there was horrible. We had to kick eople out and clean up drugs. I complained to the dm and he said there would be an investigation and I haven't heard a word. Except that the woman who harassed me still works there
Management
The way that your manager and his cashier made fun of the could in on 08/22/22 at 5:17pm was horrific. Discusting the way they treated them. They even got other customers in on the joke. Those people left there completely ruined.. How dare you run a compony like this. I was a frequent shopper there. Never again will I shop there. In no way should mamagment treat there cuztomers like that.

Bathrooms
On July 5th, 2022, I visited the Value Village located at 1525 Victoria Park Ave, Scarborough, ON M1L 2T3. At 7:04pm, my 4-year-old daughter needed to use the bathroom. I was aware that this location is on the dirtier/rougher side as it is located in a low income neighbourhood but what I saw in this bathroom was beyond disgusting. Blood and urine were found all over the floor: in front on the toilet on the floor, near the sink, on the walls. It was absolutely atrocious. I had to hold my daughter in the air to allow her to use the toilet as I would never allow myself or my child to sit on or near that filth. I would have left the store to attend a nearby bathroom but I was concerned that she would not be able to hold it. The hygienic standards at this location are extremely low and I advise that you increase these standards at this location otherwise I will be contacting the City to inspect this establishment.
Desired outcome: Raise hygiene standards at this location. Not only for the bathrooms but for the entire store. Would also appreciate some coupons for this inconvenience.
Change Rooms
I went to your store located on Ellice in Winnipeg, Manitoba yesterday. It has been awhile since I been there since March 2022. I understood why the change rooms where close to the public when they was restrictions then but now I don't agree. I don't feel like buying 5 pairs of jeans that I like and hope one of them or more fit me when I get home. Then find out they don't and have to waste my gas (which is costly as you know) to go back to your stores and then have to find something I want for the same price. I understand that you have 14 days to return them but I have lost lots of money over the 2 years with Covid because my schedule doesn't work with that.
I feel that the change rooms should be back so all customers feel that you care about them not only there money.
Dressing rooms
Earlier today I went to Value Village to replace my wardrobe as its been a few years and I'm lacking for quite a few occasions (work, interviews, casual, gym, etc). I had not been in quite some time but the layout appeared to be the same. I grabbed a buggy to prepare as I know how the shopping experience goes as a female, you get an entire cart load of clothing to try in and maybe ONE thing fits, MAYBE! I spent an hour collecting and assembling outfits to try on with fingers crossed and high hopes. I had one final isle to go down and overheard a young lady ask for the dressing room when the employee stated there were none any longer!?!?! She stated there was a 2 week return policy now. What clothing store has clothing but not dressing area to try them on? The poor woman devastatingly put the items down as she was from out of town and was in need of an outfit or 2 to get her through the weekend. I was also devastated as I had wasted a lot of time and there was no signage stating there was a change in policy or the store, everything looked the same. I had an entire cart worth of clothing to try on, the girl also advised me on the 2 week policy however, I have no desire to spend hundreds (literally) of dollars on something that is not a guarantee, I don't have that kind of money, obviously I wouldn't be shopping at Value Village. I ended up giving the girl the entire cart I'd meticulously selected and out of habit she asked confused if none of it worked, I sarcastically said I wouldn't know bc I'm not able to try it on and left the store upset. I'm trying to understand the cons for the business vs the pros for the clientele. The 2 week return policy and random mirrors in nooks of the store is not a very sufficient solution, not everyone is local, a lot of people are living out of their vehicle and are depending on that space to find outfits to look presentable in for work, interviews, etc. Trying on an entire outfit on top of your clothing is not In any way realistic for fitting clothing.
Desired outcome: Please bring back dressing rooms for your clients! We want and need them. They allow you to provide a full and complete experience for your clients and saves everyone time and money.
The same thing happened to my husband, but having been told of the two-week return policy, purchased two items. Neither one fit properly, so he went back to the store immediately, only to be told that the two-week return policy WAS ONLY FOR STORE CREDIT.
So if you buy something and it doesn't fit, you only get to exchange it, not get your money back.
Needless to say, we won't be returning to Value Village.
I’m also frustrated with this. I bought pants and tried them on at home, I live an hour away from the store. They don’t fit. I went back to return them and told I have to exchange. I had no time for shopping today and I won’t be back in the city for another week. I’m very frustrated that I can’t try them on in-store and now I can’t return!? If they aren’t going to have change rooms, then they need to allow returns of clothing.
Team Members
Yesterday evening (Tuesday) I went with my mother to Value village Dundas, Mississauga location, in which it was Seniors day. At the self check out there were 2 younger females and 1 in particular were making rude comments about things she hates that customers do. Then proceeded to say to the other girl that one day a customer would complain about them saying "oh my god, they said this, blah blah blah" mimicking the potential customer. Already my mother felt uncomfortable and she needed their assistance to put her seniors discount in. I had said excuse me and the 1 girl proceeded to give the other girl a look before she came over, then asked "whats up" when asking what we needed.
Now, she was right about one thing - customers WILL complain. it was disgusting behavior and totally unprofessional to treat your customers that way or even let them hear what you are saying about them. Why she felt the need to try hard to seem intimidating is beyond me - but that was a no no.
SO, I want to know how Value village are training their team members and what they are going to do about this team member in particular.
Desired outcome: Employee to be spoken to/warned

I shop at the Value Village on Faithful Ave in Saskatoon. The clerks are fine but the managers that help out at the till with exchanges always seem a bit disgruntled. Read full review of Value Village / SaversStaff and my experience at the store over the years
Hello my name is Sheri drouin, I've been shopping at value village for as long as I can remember and just a few years ago I got into an incident where I came out of the washroom when it was closing time and they accused me of stealing which I didn't and I refused to show my bag because that is my property and I don't feel the need to show them my private things I was very polite and respectful and advised them to check the cameras I was shocked when they told me I would not be allowed back in the store again just because they thought I stole due ti coming out of the bathroom late. It's really made me upset and disapponted because I really love the store but I followed there rules and did not return for over a year and a half maybe 2 years and I thiught maybe they got over it and most places I've researched even convicted shoplifters usually only get a ban of a year only not what I got. So due to thinking this was over and time has passed especially when I did nothing to begin with I respected there wishes and I went back into the store multiple times and the same staff saw me smiled and was polite and all of a sudden one night it was end of the night and I was one of the last constimers and I don't no why this happened again but they accused me and yelled and swore at me and asked to see I my bag I refused to show the workers because of there hostile response towards me and I showed the security guard my purse just so the last incident didn't happen again and they still didn't believe me even after I showed the security guard I called the.mm over and they refused to look and just keep telling me to get out of here I remember you from years ago your banned for life. Again I was so shocked and hurt especially the way the manager treated me I am not a criminal and never have been. I ended up calling the police to advice if indeed they are allowed to banned me for no reason and they advised me that yes they can and I couldn't believe it. This is my favourite store I spend over $200 a week there on average I am there 1-2 times a week. And I don't think I should of been treated the way I was treated and I would like to see if there is any way possible I could get this resolved and can shop back at the store. I'm sure the manager will give you a whole different story to save themselves because of how rude and disrespectful but I am telling the truth I am truly sorry I didn't show her the purse in the first incident I regret it to this day snd probably none or this would of happened but I was not having a good day and didn't think I needed to prove anything to anyone and I apologize for that. Please I live in Lethbridge Alberta I'm Canada and we only have 1 store here. This is really important to me I already gave up 2 years for no reason just to make them happy. With Christmas coming around I enjoy doing shopping there for Family and friends. My phone number is [protected] if you could get back to me to let me know if I can return to the store or if there's steps into making something work. Being banned forever is a bit ridiculous when I did nothing wrong.
Thanks so much
Sheri drouin
Desired outcome: To be able to return to the store with peace

I have had mine & observed others personal items (purse, bags, coats, etc. picked up, moved, etc. by supervisors in-particular. They have also picked items out of the customers personal shopping bags that have already been paid for and told " you didn't pay for this", then finding out what they thought the item was, was actually something else that "had" been paid for.
Used towels, washcloth, etc., shouldn't be $9 each and to top it off they are all $9 regardless if they are thin, holes or thick.
There are shoes (especially), clothes, purses, pillows, etc that are obviously broke, missing pieces, ripped, severely stained, that are priced high (same as others), and even higher priced due to the brand. It's almost as if there is an assembly line where they just printing a roll of tags the same amount and price the category.
People now are donating more than ever, you continue to bring in massive carts and carts of donated, but have reduced the coupons and have raised the items to prices that the average family couldn't shop there. Many times there are prices the same or more than you could buy it new for less.
My review and I'm sure others experience the same thing.
