I received a money order from a friend in another state. I went to Walmart (also where the money order was purchased from- just a different store. When Walmart processed it, it told me to call a number to din out why it was rejected. I did and was told that it was a service error and to try again. So I stop by again in the afternoon and the cashier said the system would not approve it, they could not ever put it through again, and that I had to call another number. That number did not allow me to talk to anyone, which made it useless. Then I had to search for other numbers to call. I finally was able to track someone down who told me to take it to another store or just deposit it in the back (this was a weekend). Many banks will hold money orders for many days until they clear. I told that going to another place did not make any sense as she kept claiming it was my fault. I finally reached a supervisor that said there was nothing she could do- just go to another location. (supervisor # 390). I asked her where and she said to go to Publix down the street and they would cash it. If they had a problem, they could call WU (WU apparently is not customer service enough to allow their agents to call the locations!). I went to Publix, only to be told that they only collect cash and make money orders, they do NOT cash them and don't have the systems to do it. So tell me, how will all my time, frustration and the inaccurate information I had to follow, be handled? I finally did just take it to my bank and deposit it. WU could have cared less.
Desired outcome: compensation for my time, energy and frustration
