Ordered a stainless French Door style refrigerator with ice and water on the outside left door. Due to delivery problems (which were eventually corrected) this refrigerator had to be replaced and all was well except for a noisy fan motor, until now. I just went to change out the ice and water filter only to discover that the filter number in the refrigerators book is NOT the correct filter (only found out about the wrong filter after I purchased new filters using the displayed number. Now the fun begins when I called Home Depot. They told me that they do not even have the correct filter and I would have to contact Whirlpool directly. I did that only to find out that the correct filter was only available from the Whirlpool web site at $59.99 each. That is an exceptionally expensive proprietary water filter. Had I known that it was proprietary, I never would have purchased a Whirlpool product and this was one of four kitchen appliances purchased at the same time. The Whirlpool customer care person told me that the correct water filter was not even available at all until February or March of 2024. The appliances were purchased in November of 2023.
Recommendation: Stay away from Maytag (which also gave us problems a year ago) or Whirlpool. Their customer care is non existant.
