defective dishwasher
I purchased a maytag mdb7749aww dishwasher in march of 2012. the electronic control on this unit failed in june of 2013 (3 months out of warranty). I have been trying to get a replacement part for over a month, the part is on backorder and unavailable. whirlpool is unable to tell me when the part will be available. so, I have had no dishwasher for over a month and have no idea when, or if it will be repairable. additionally this part is $150. 00 and another $75.00 to have it changed. so it is going to cost me $225.00 to repair a 15 month old dishwasher that I paid $450.00 for. I have received zero support from whirlpool, they told me today, 7-31-13, that the part is still unavailable and they will notify me in 3-6 business days as to if they can find a part. after seeing all the issues other people have had with this part, whirlpools total lack of concern or support for the consumer and the cost issue it makes no sense to repair this unit only to see it fail again in a year or so. basically I have a $450. 00 boat anchor. the retailer purchased it from feels bad and is offering me another manufactures machine at a reduced price, maytag has refused to do anything for me. I will never buy another whirlpool / maytag item again and I do intend to add my name to the pending class action suit.

Respect madam/sir,
I would like to draw your kind attention. I am one of your loyal customers. I purchased a whirlpool refrigerator in september 2010 (mod: w9rxnmfwqo2, ser: vs03189677, type: 19tfa).in june 2010, I paid $1097.21. today, I paid $237.71 to repair a fan because refrigerator was not working. this refrigerator is less than two years old. today I also paid $137.72 for extended warranty (so total amounts is $237.71 +13.72 = $375.43). from being a loyal customer, now I am a very unhappy and a disappointed customer.
I always had have faith on sears and quality of products but after this situation I do not feel that I will be able to keep such faith and I may not be any more a loyal customer unless sears takes a necessary measure. do you think I will remain a loyal customer? please let me know if you need additional information. thank you kindly.

defective rusting oven and range
I spent the extra money and bought a very nice looking Whirlpool range and oven. Within months it started rusting. I keep a meticulously clean kitchen and I've never had this problem with any other appliance. I sent letters to no avail. Whirlpool said that their warranty on rust was only 30 days! They refused to do anything about it and told me to go ahead and sue them. Terrible product. Defective from the factory. Do not ever buy a Whirlpool product as they do not stand behind it.

excessive charges; no written estimates
My Whirlpool Refrigerator/freezer stopped keeping food cold at the beginning of June 2013; and it hasn't worked since that time; which has depressed me to no end, and has left me very hungry.
The first appliance repairman came out from PAP Appliances from San Francisco; he worked on the freezer without giving an estimate of what was wrong or giving me an estimate of the repairs; he charged me $145.00 for his services which I paid promptly;
The Whirlpool Refrigerator/freezer never worked properly since the Pap Appliance repairman worked on it; so this week I called Sears Home Repair on Sunday, since Sears specializes in Whirlpool Appliances according to my Internet searches; their repairman came out Monday, 6/3/2013, to troubleshoot and fix my appliance; the verbal estimate given this week prior to the repairman's work was $221.74, including parts and labor which again, I paid promptly;
it's not clear to me what's wrong with the appliance; the repairman did say that it is a model that has been on the market since 1998;
In checking Whirlpool's web sight yesterday I learned a recall of some of its refrigerator/freezers; I believe that the one I have is or should be on that Recall List;
My groceries that came last Thursday and also at the beginning of last month from Safeway and Lucky's, etc., have all spoiled; I have been eating from fast food restaurants going on two months--since my Whirlpool Refrigerator/freezer stopped working last month; Sears is aware that my refrigerator/freezer not working; that are scheduled to return tomorrow 6/7/2013 between
9:00 a.m.and 5:00 p.m. which means another entire day put on hold; I hope the refrigerator will work properly after all this time!

failure to honor contract
On 3/8/12 I purchased an extended warranty for a brand new Maytag front-load washer and Maytag Dryer from Federal Warranty Service Corporation (FWSC) - a subsidiary of Assurant Solutions. The contract was emailed to me and I filed the contract in case I would need it.
The washer broke down on 4/15/13 and I placed a repair request with FWSC. When the repair technician came out for the diagnostic call, he noted that Model and Serial numbers on the contract were not the same as they were on the equipment. I called FWSC to let them know that the numbers were wrong and that they needed to get the records corrected so that I could exercise my claim.
FWSC told me that I gave them the wrong numbers when I signed up for the contract. This claim is ludicrous as the model and serial numbers listed were for top-load, Whirlpool, small-capacity items, which I did not own, never did own, and most assuredly did not have model and serial numbers for. It was obvious that they registered the products incorrectly in their database and simply needed to make the changes. They were willing to change the contract on the dryer, if I agreed to pay them an additional $135, but refused to change the contract on the washer nor would they honor my claim.
When I contacted Whirlpool directly about the problem, Whirlpool would only say that Assurant is a separate company and that they had no control over Assurant's decisions. More importantly, when I was talking with the Whirlpool service agent, he told me how Assurant could have made the data entry error as he sells extended service warranties for Assurant using their system.
The repair fee for the 14-month old washer will exceed the cost to replace it - so I am out the washer. FSWC made a data error that it will not admit to, and will not honor the contract (even though they still have my money), and I will have to buy a new washer at my expense - despite having purchased a 60-month extended warranty.
I have been going around and around since Sept. 29, 2014. It is now Nov. 18th. Whirlpool Maytag Service Division [protected] has been placating me since Oct. 10th when after 3 no shows for repair finally got Co. GGSL to come out and told me I needed Transmission for my Wash Machine but now cannot get ANYONE from GGLS or Whirlpool to call me back 5-6 weeks later. I call them almost daily at GGSL [protected] and at Whirlpool [protected]. GGSL has never answered their phone and has never returned my calls re: status of my repair. Whirlpool just shifts me from one agent to the next each time I call and promise to have a Director or Supervisor call me. This has been going on for 5 weeks not including all the calls I made from Sept. 29th until the Oct. 10th visit. What a RIPOFF these Warranty Co.'s are. I bought the machine at Sears in Downey and paid for the extended warranty for 3 years of $400. I am still waiting.
water heater
Whirlpool Water heater had 12 year warranty and started leaking on Saturday at 2:00 in the afternoon, called warranty and they said turn off water and pilot and check to see if it is still leaking after 2 hours, so I did, it stopped leaking within 3 minutes but after 2 hours I called back and a recording said "call back during normal business hours!"
I called back Monday morning and the person gave me a parts and inner tank authorization number- I called a plumber and they said it cost 250 to install and the prorated tank would cost 250 to 300 dollars. So the warranty was basically a waste of time and the Water heater is a piece of junk. I had replaced the controller twice already. I never had a problem with water heaters until I got this whirlpool.
So instead of using the warranty to get the same junk I just bought a GE unit, cost 600 bucks. took my neighbor and me 2 hours to install it. Lowes would not give me a replacement unit they said work with the factory, I asked them I already had a parts authorization number but it would cost 150 to just get a plumber out there to check and verify. Basically they said they had never given a water heater to a consumer in her 18 years of working at Lowes, so that tells me they don't back their products at all-so no more Lowes and no more Whirlpool products.

I guess I should consider myself lucky that my Whirlpool FG water heater lasted 2 years 7 months before it died like many others have. Called Whirlpool customer support and talked so someone in India who was barely able to reply to my questions and the answers were from a scripted answer sheet. He could not answer a simple question...
Was told I had to order and pay shipping on a "repair kit" that was a free upgrade. This seems to be a short term fix from reading other complaints. So no hot water, several day wait for a temp fix at best and really crappy customer service. So I purchased a Bradford White heater today because I don't want to wait 3 more days for a part from Whirlpool. If they had half a brain they would stock the kit in the Lowes stores that sold the heaters...Maybe too simple of a solution... Seems that Whirlpool products have taken a severe turn downhill on quality. My less than 2 year old refrigerator has a broker ice maker too.
I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. IF THIS IS THE BEST THEY CAN DO THEN FORGET IT...
bought whirlpool water heater at Lowes, as I wanted to buy american made product, on 10/17/2012. 1t was installed 10/29/12 and plumbing inspected by county.. All appeared fine, but when i turned on hot water faucet, there was some air in line. thought that was normal as usually there is a little after plumbing is done. But it got worse every day and showering was by spurts and gushes. Whirlpool says that anode wears out over time due to use and that i need to buy another anode and pay to have it installed. It is only 4 monts old ! I say the anode was defective and take back their water heater and refund all money including installation, as I want to buy one somewhere else. So much for GREAT AMERICAN MADE PRODUCT. no wonder our country is in trouble... why buy something that is defective and will not stand behind their product.
won't start
Don't buy this dryer. We had it for one year and it stopped running. I Checked the thermal fuse and the door switch and both were good. Now it gets into the big cost for replacement parts. I' m done with Whirlpool! Since they bought Maytag, they have went down hill. This quote came from the appliance store as they are staying very busy because of Whirlpool problems and complaints.

no resolution
We had a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator that was purchased online (black smooth finish) delivered on 2/15. It was installed, but the protective film was left on the doors by the delivery men! Upon removing the film, we discovered a dent and scratches on the left side of the refrigerator! The next morning, Sears Customer Service was contacted and informed of the situation! Case #6372279 has been created.
My options were replacing existing refrigerator model (black smooth finish doors) or replace with the more durable (black textured finish doors). The textured door model had fewer drawers, humidity control etc. I went the textured door route, and scheduled delivery for 2/25. I was charged $38.50 additional for this option!
When I discovered the textured model was priced $200.00 cheaper both in MSRP and Sale Price normally, Sears Customer Service was contacted. I was told that the exchange price is different than any sale price! Bottom line here is I would be downgrading the refrigerator, and pay more for the downgrade as a replacement!
At this point on 2/17 I contacted and canceled the downgrade before delivery, and Sears Customer Service would credit the $38.50 within in 7 to 10 days, with no resolution on the original case file!
I now have a scratched and dented refrigerator, no credit for the $38.50 (over eighteen days and counting) in spite of two more phone calls to Sears Customer Service!
I don't know what else to do! I was not given the option again of replacing the original refrigerator with the same model rather that the downgrade! Our local appliance dealer would sure look good now!
Sears did in fact follow up on the complaint, and we had our choice of just replacing the refrigerator itself or just the doors! We are happy with the outcome!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

tech never showed up
Tech id#897975 was suppose to come back today on 3/1/13 (Friday) between 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to fix my refrigerator. I live 45 minutes away from my rental property where the appliance is. He never showed up. I called their office. They do not want to discuss what happened, only to reschedule! I am shocked that a company like this is in business. I hope...

This company was referred to my from the Whirlpool service department after i called them to tell them my oven needed repair. I contacted A&E and scheduled service. They came and examined oven. This service Technican (Mike ID# 607465) whom didnt appear to know what he was doing stated it was a contol panel within and it was not getting power. He stated it would need to be sent out, fixed, returned, and then put back into my oven. He quoted me a price of $354.68 of which I paid via credit card to fix. After two weeks the part was returned of which the part also had a tag stating the part was not repaired. The repair person. e put in back into the stove saying that there was nothing wrong with the part. (HUH?) he then stated that it needed another part of which he then was able to get. It was put in and the oven still did not work. The repair person stated that there was nothing that could be done and a new oven would be needed. Today i received a letter stating that I needed to pay $92.35 additional amount and if I felt that I did not owe this charge to Contact Whirlpool directly. I was told that the intial charge of $354.68 was to cover all costs Now i am getting a bill. On the bill they sent it stated that the cost was due to the fact that they were not paid by whirlpool for the "Service Not Covered by Warranty" This was know from the first phone call to Whirlpool as well as A&E when i called them to schedule service. As instructed in thier letter i have spoken to Whirlpool and in short they feel A&E attempt to collect money was not justified. they have placed a record to document the call. SR# 1-[protected]. I am in the process to resolve with A&E. This is just not right.
Thank you Amber. Its reassuring that your company was made aware of the sitution. After this was filed I was able to have this resolved with A&E. It has not affect on my thoughts on Whirlpool for I love your prooducts, but the service center was not to favorable. Again, all is resolved. Thank you.
after much time the company had resolved the issue. The person (Issabelle) took the time to research the matter at great length and afterwards resolved the issue. Her handling of the matter was above excellent!. Although the complaint still is valid they rectification of it was appreciated...

not working
We have a Whirlpool front loading Duet Washing Machine that is approximately five (5) years old. It is in a seasonal home so is only used for 4-5 months per year. Without warning, it just stopped working. Door won't open and nothing on the machine will work. We have called an authorized dealer and it is going to cost over $300 to have someone come out to look at it. There is no way to know if it can be repaired? Very frustrating and disconcerting to have to put so much money into an almost new machine with no guarantee that it will become functional. My last washing machine was used for almost thirty (30) years--heavy use for all that time while raising a family. Now, with just two of us, an almost new machine is broken. I definitely won't be buying another Whirlpool machine or any other machine made by the same company. Anyone else have a similar experience?

shelves cracking
Bought a Whrilpool refrigerator at the end of 2009 and within 4 months two of the main shelves cracked; not the glass...the plastic shelves themselves. Appliance was under warranty so they got replaced but since then four shelves have cracked and one door shelf cracked and there is a crack in the inside refrigerator lining. Have extended warranty but it does not cover shelves. This appliance is a piece of junk. In the past 40 years of raising a family, I have never had a refrigerator cracking. Whar has happened to quality?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I also have Whirlpool with shelve cracking. Rest is running good but the selves are the worst crack plastic not glass also the draws are cracking also i have a crack on the side of the freezer inside
We have the same problems. Shelf cracked, door drawer cracked & now the round piece that goes over the water filer cracked. In the end it will cost almost as much to replace as to buy a new frig. there are only two older people in our home also. The frig that came with the house is also a whirlpool, from 1995 & runs fine? Now problems with over the stove microwave-the shelf that came with it sparked (nothing on it) & we can't use it. Any suggestions?
I have used whirlpool appliances for 30 years, was very good until last five years my washers and dryers only last about three years and I have to buy more. Now my refrigerator is same problem. Glass and plastic shelves are all cracking. We are older couple so we have not abused it. Very disappointed in whirlpool. Next time I buy it won't be a whirlpool.
I also have Whirlpool ED2VHEXVQ01 with shelve cracking. Also the water leaking pooling at bottom. Both of these are all over the web and I had same issue with my Amana which is also Whirlpool. I really don't understand why there isn't a recall in place?
I also purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator in 2009 (model EDSLTAXUL) and am having the same problem with all the shelves. Unfortunately I didn't notice the cracks until the warranty had expired. Contacting Whirlpool has been a joke. The only options given to me were to buy the parts and install the shelves myself at more than $125 per shelf. If this isn't a design flaw I don't know what one would be! The appliance has not bee abused and has only been "gently" used by two older adults. The glass shelves are not broken but Whirlpool only sells the shelves with the glass making the shipping very expensive. I've purchased a lot of Whirlpool appliances in my 40+ years of home ownership but I think this will be the last one I buy!

still does not work properly
On June 21, 2012, we purchased a Whirlpool Top-Freezer Refrigerator Model #WRT771RWYB01. The company we purchased it from had another company install it in our home a couple days later. The first thing they said when they delivered it was that we would need new top and bottom front doors because the doors were scratched when the unit was delivered to the store. They said that the store knew about this and the doors were on order. We immediately contacted the store and they said to take the whole refrigerator back we would have to pay a $300.00 restocking charge! (After going back and forth with the store, we finally received our new doors the end of October this year). After a couple weeks after we had the unit installed, we found more problems. The items causing internal problems were as follows: 1) Food items stored in the center portion of the unit were freezing, 2) The center meat drawer kept falling out when pulled out, 3) The two bottom fruit and vegetable drawers were very hard to pull out, 4) The top freezer did not keep frozen items frozen. After calling the store, the first people we had come out were the same store’s service people. They went in and removed some insulation in the center portion of the refrigerator saying that there was some recall stating that this would cure this problem. They also said they would order a new part for the meat drawer that they said was broken. That was all they did. They then left. On the morning of July 17th, the same store service people installed the part on the meat drawer that was broke. After a couple days, we found we still had the same problem with all of the 4 items above. We then called Whirlpool who sent THEIR service person here from A&E Factory Service. In the afternoon, the A&E service man came here and after diagnosing all the problems, he said that if we called the store where we purchased the refrigerator from and don’t get a new refrigerator, they would order a new circuit control, a new meat tray, and two new tracks for the meat tray. He said the meat drawer was still not working properly. He did sand off the two bottom drawers and put some vegetable oil on them to slide better. We then called the store again about replacing the whole unit and they again told us about the $300.00 restocking charge. We then called A&E service that started the ordering process of the internal parts. We did receive a Case Number from A&E for the parts. They said we would be getting some of the parts in mid-August and maybe the rest of the parts in September. A&E finally installed all the parts around mid-October. Since then, 1) The center meat drawer still keeps falling out and 2) anything in the top freezer still does not entirely freeze. Any ice cream products are mushy. We believe we have a lemon here and would very much appreciate a new unit. Any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated. We have tried to contact Whirlpool several times, but they just kept routing us back to A&E service. Thank you!

extremely poor service
Boy, I wish I had read the complaints before I called Whirlpool about my 5 year old Refrigerator quitting on me. They unfortunately scheduled a appt for me with A & E/Sears. This is where the real nightmare began. Instead of going into all the details on everything that happened, I will just say it is the same story as everyone else's. Extremely poor service and lots of lying. My nightmare started on Oct 25th and it is Dec 1st and I still do not have a working refrigerator. There were lies throughout the whole process and yes they gave me the song and dance of "as soon as your parts arrive, call and we will schedule you in the next two days...they did this three times. Bottom line: One part was back ordered three times, one part was discontinued and I had to find it myself online or buy another Refrigerator. They were absolutely no help. I have an appointment Monday but I have this fear they will not show up. I say "shame on Whirlpool for even recommending them to repair there appliances.

repeated problem of malfunction
This complain is regarding unserviceability of my M/W Oven. I have purchased Magic cook 30C on 09 Oct 11. Till 08 Oct 12 I have lodged four complained regarding switching off my oven in short period i.e below 10 minutes if was used on 100%. The transistron of the oven was changed on first complain and it was advised by servicing technician to use over on 50-80% power. Even using the oven as per instruction the oven started switching off in below 10 min when it was used on 50-80% power. On persistence of problem, fourth complain was lodged on 07 Oct 12 and the oven was collected by servicing technician on 11 Oct 12. After servicing the oven was returned to me after completion of one month i.e. on 11 Nov 12. On checking it was found that the problem of switching off of oven in less than 10 min when it is run on 100% is still persist and the justification given by technician is, not to use the oven in 100% power. Kindly clear me why the oven can not work now in 100% power when the same was working when it was new and if this was the case then why the uses and time limit for 100% power was not mentioned in user mannual. Kindly accord priority as I am a regular user of whirlpool appliances and this problem has changed my view regarding after sale services provided by whirlpool.

I had bought a whirlpool washing machine (order number: [protected])on 26th Jan from EZone Indiranagar (Bangalore). They told me they will deliver it tomorrow. It's like everyday I call them and they say they will deliver it today for sure, but I got it delivered only after one month.
Next when they delivered, I got a scratch card (whirlpool) and won a microwave oven (mechanical one). I went there and they again told me they will deliver it within 1 week. It's now one and half month and when I call them then they say WHIRLPOOL guys are not delivering the 'microwave oven' to them. I went in their store around 4 times and they didn't have an answer.
guys I would recommend anyone to never go for 'freebies' at first place otherwise you will face similar problems. These ezone guys they make false promises and don't pick up the phone when you call them :(
no replacement parts
In April 2011 I bought 2 Whirlpool semi pro washers model (3LCHW9100WQ) and 1 dryer model (3LCED9100WQ) from the company “Bijeli svijet” and opened the first self service laundry in Pula, Croatia.
Since the beginning I had problems with the gum (black), after the washing cyclus you could see black lines on the linen. Whirlpool Croatia denied that the gum can be the cause. After two months they gave me new gums because they finally admitted that there is a problem, but the problem still exists.
After 5 months of work first malfunctions on the washers started. The biggest problem is that it took and still takes them up to a few months to repair them or to get the replacement part and this problems I have ever since. In January 2012 I called the service in Pula to order some new replacement parts, but they never came. Also in may after the warranty expired I had a problem with the electronics, but the part did not came till today.
The warranty was not extended, even it took more than 1 month to repair the machines.
Whirlpool Croatia promised me to give me an answer in august, but they never did. I also tried to call them for the last two months, but without any result.
In global if I take that I have this washers and dryer for about 18 months, the washers where out of function for more than 6 and the dryer for 4 months.
Whirlpool support and quality does not exist at all in Croatia.
whirlpool duet wfw9500tw01 washing machine
"F35" / "Suds" code 14 months after we purchased washer. Hose / air trap is clear and the hose from the analog pressure switch is connected properly. The appliance tech we had come out to look at the washer determined that the analog pressure switch was defective. He told us that this is a common problem with this washing machine. Whirlpool supervisor Michael (female) stated that they could send tech out - and charge us for the call - to diagnose problem. She refused to transfer me to someone who could help and couldn't comprehend that the "it's out of warranty" excuse isn't a proper defense for a product defect. There are MANY posts about Analog Pressure Switch problems with this washing machine.
The posts about Whirlpool's poor customer service are absolutely accurate. They are horrible - good luck in getting them to work with you. We read the reviews for the Whirlpool Duet Steam washing machine before purchasing one and we disregarded the bad ones as disgruntled customers. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE MADE. After my conversation with their customer service dept today, I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again. Defective parts happen. Refusing to fix a known problem is unacceptable.
