rusted tub basket
I purchased a whirlpool washer 19 months ago. The tub basket is rusting. I called whirlpool and they stated there is nothing we can do. I called the store that I purchased the washer and was told their hands were tied. I called whirlpool again and they said in other words have a nice day. I contacted the dealer again and they sent out their repair person he stated he had never seen a tub rust in that amount of time. I am a single senoir citizen and do not wash a lot of clothes. I never leave water sitting in the tub. THe repairman from the dealer said he would contact whirlpool. I did not hear anything so I called the next day he said he had e-mailed whirlpool. In a day it will be a week and I still have not heard anything. This is a sad things that a tub would rust in this amount of time and the repairman even said that he had never seen a tub rust this soon. I feel that the tub was defective when I purchase it 19 months ago and the dealor or whirlpool will not do anything and I paid around $500 for this machine I like the machine except for the rust.

I had purchased a Whirlpool fully automatic washing machine WM 123-NXT 621P – Frosted Grey (6.2kg) from Bismi Home Appliances, Ernakulam, Cochin on 20th July 2012 vide invoice no: 283643 in the name of Mrs. K. Vijayam.
The machine stopped working on 13/09/2012 and we promptly lodged a complaint at their Service center at Cochin the same day – Complaint No: 11158. On 14th, their engineer came down and inspected the machine and told us that the board is at fault and needs to be replaced. He told us that he will bring the part the next day. I regret to inform that till date, no one has come to rectify the machine.
When I call the service centre, they keep giving me some excuse or the other saying that the part is in transit or the engineer is out on call. Yesterday, in the morning they told me that the part has come and someone will be sent to install it. When no one turned up, I called them in the evening and they told me that the part has not been received yet. Today, they told me that since this is a new machine, only the whirlpool engineer is supposed to look into the issue and he has to come from Chennai.
To make a long story short, I would like to tell you that my machine remains unattended for the last 8 days and I still do not know when the engineer is going to come. I have piles of dirty linen which needs washing. The least those guys could have done was to give me a standby till this was sorted out.
Since my machine is only 2 months old, and for all the hardship they have caused me, ideally they must either replace my machine or give me a full refund. Otherwise, I shall definitely explore other options to get a just remedy.
To be quite honest, I am amazed at the way the service center behaves on the phone. Nobody wants to take any responsibility and they keep transferring the line to one another. Being in the service industry myself, I can understand how irritating this feels. I cannot believe that a company of Whirlpool's stature treats its customers thus.

rude behavior of service centre staff
I lodged a complaint on 03-09-2012 for my refrigerator under KLO912001235. After receiving an estimate I informed the service centre Speed Service and they collected the appliance on 04-09-2012 for repairing. When after 5 days, I inquired about the position of the fridge, I was informed that work could not be done due to meeting and rains etc. After my ultimatum I was informed today by some MR. ARNAV that fridge was ready and I should collect it after paying the dues and inspecting. I said when yoh have cahrged incidental charges why you will not deliver at home, he simply told this was the rule. I was very much shocked with the rude behavior of the person, Mr. Arnav. Moreover I also told him that how I could check the appliance within 10 minutes and moreover the company will be giving some warranty after repairing. Mr. Arnav simply told me this is the rule. I was informed a day earlier by the company that the appliance will be delivered at my residence after repairing. But next day such a behavior by the company staff is not expected. I have been purchasing Whirlpool appliances since long but faced this type of rude behavior for the first time. I have also informed them that I shall be leaving for Mumbai tonight and if the fridge is not delivered, Ishall not be liable to pay any godown rent or other charges. defective freezer they won't fix!
Just 2 years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer. A few months ago, we realized that there was a huge gap at the top of the door, and that the freezer was leaking air and the food inside was defrosted. We called in an appliance repair man (almost $100) who was unable to repair it, and a brand new door gasket ($171!) failed to make it seal. Now it appears that the inside of the door is totally warped, and won’t seal regardless of installing a new gasket. In other words, it appears to be unfixable.
I contacted Whirlpool through their website and asked that they send a rep out to take a look at the freezer. Instead, we got a phone call from a “customer service representative” who read off a script that they’re sorry they can’t help me but “we encourage our buyers to purchase the [overpriced] extended warranty.”
There is absolutely no reason why a 2-year-old freezer should be defective to the point of being unusable. This is the last Whirlpool product we’ll ever buy, and given their attitude, I would encourage others not to buy their products either!

Whirlpool service is the top most worst service we have ever seen. we bought 2 units wpl-11149- pura fresh dlx whirlpool r. o water purifier on [protected]. and on 29-04-2012 we replaced the candles on suggestion of the service engineer, which is not at all needed. we spent around 5000 rupees for candles and still its not working... and within 1 week of time d same problem was repeating. we again then enquired, he said now the problem was with the booster. and now this booster costs around 2000 rupees!
Now the situation is overhead, we complained several times but found no response. these people are not even receiving our call...!
So we have to conclude that even companies like whirlpool are "fake"

water lever
The machine was purchase early in 2012. I understand that the machine is supposed to conserve water - but you can't wash a 6 inch stack of clothes in 1 or 2 inches of water. The machine just beats the clothes to death. The machine has a big tub - but with such a small amount of water it doesn't even rotate the clothes so that they are all submerged in the water. Whirlpool claims that the machine is operating properly and will not disclose how much water should be in the tub.

I bought a whirlpool washer from Lowes 1 1/2 years ago and paid for the Lowe's Advantage Extended Warranty. The computer in the washer has already gone out and I am being told the part is backordered with no estimate if they will even provide the part any longer. We have a whirlpool 1.5 ton split Ac, which we are facing problem since a long time. Last month on 16.05.2012 we had lodged a complaint for less cooling. Your service engineer visited us the same day and cleaned the Ac and said that everything is OK. We had to pay Rs.395/- as service charge. But from that very day there was a hooting sound continuously from inside immediately after the ac was being turned on. Again your service person came and said that the bush has to be changed. After three days he came and changed the bush and we had to pay Rs.210/-. Bur then another rustling sound developed. Again another serviceman came and said that while replacing the new bush the rod was not set properly.He set the rod properly and the sound stopped. But now a new problem has started...if we switch on the Ac. even with the temp. set at 26, within 10-15 mins ice is being formed on the grill and there is no cooling. Please send someone who is technically strong and solve these continuous problems. Hope you take proper action to solve the problem.

horrible customer serivce
We bought a Maytag washer/dryer from the Brick. This was supposedly the top of the line coming from Maytag. The washer became faulty just after a year - thus the manufacturer's warranty was over. Lucky we had bought a 5-yrs extended warranty from the Brick. We called them up and for two days we a service call was made...or was it? The rep I spoke to (from a third party company) did not complete the order and I had to call back when the appointment time for the tech had elapsed. So we bit the bullet and called to place another service call. The tech came in the after a couple of days. He assessed the unit and told us that the Brick will get back to us shortly. Over a week went by and we got no call from them. I called back and they told me the tech was dispatched by Whirlpool and they haven't received his report yet. In effect we have paid for the extended warranty and here we are jumping through hoops just to get our money's worth. In the meantime I, the customer must suffer through this with a defective washer. This is the last time we get anything from the store and I will discourage anyone from buying from there. Do not make the mistake of giving them your hard earned money.

On date 30/5/2012 a complaint was lodged with Sapna Marketing Jabalpur, regarding not cooling of ac. Mechanic Mr Vivek attended and said that there is a voltage problem from mpseb. A complaint was lodged with mpseb on same date and mpseb officials attended the complaint and reported that there is no fault from there side. This A.C. was purchased on 15/3/2010 under cash memo number 6774 from Kedia Furniture Jabalpur. The installation was done on 16/3/2010 by the showrooms mechanic. On date 23/3/2010 a stabilizer was also installed. Due to excess load a three phase connection was also done. The unit was working smoothly till the date of complaint on and from 30/5/2012 the unit is not cooling and is blowing hot air causing lot of inconvenience. Please get it attended by your executive/engineer at an early date so that the complainer dose not have to knock the door of the Consumer Forum.

dismal performance of ac
I purchased 2T Whirlpool Chrome Split AC on June, 14, 2011.
It stopped cooling on May 7, 2012. it
In response to my SR No. PT [protected] dated May 9, 2012 their engineers refilled gas on May 15, 2012. The AC worked for barely 2 hours and stopped cooling.
When I reported this, I was asked to give a fresh complaint. I made another SR on May 16, 2012 vide No. PT [protected]. Their engineers repaired it on May 21. It failed again.
Their engineer turned up on June 24 and refilled the gas again. It failed to cool once again. I was told the AC will have to be taken to workshop for major repairs.
When I asked for a replacement I was told 2T AC was not available. I agreed to take 1.5T as I was without AC at peak summer and did not want to wait further.
One week gone already. They must be waiting for winter!

whirlpool cabrio washer is a junk
On 8/29/09, I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio (model: WTW6800WL)for $1100. This was highly rated by the top consumer website. Supposedly, this was the top of the line, high end Whirlpool. Six months later (Feb 2010) this machine broke down. Machine was still under warranty so Whirlpool fixed for free. One year and three months (May 2011) after repair, machine stopped working again. Of course, it's no longer under warranty. Whirlpool dispatched a repairman. Repairman said it would cost $629 to fix! The major component, an electro magnetic part that runs the agitator/tub, went out. This is not a 'small' insignificant part. I will not pay to have this repaired and will never buy a Whirlpool again. I called the company and felt like I was getting the run around. I emailed company without response. I am so upset about spending $1100 for an obvious lemon. Whirlpool should be ashamed to themselves but, of course, they could care less. DO NOT GET SCREWED. DO NOT EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE.

poor customer service
We bought microwave (wmh3205xvs) on 02/25/12. we paid for professional installation because it is otr. the microwave was installed on 02/28/12. on 03/18/12, the microwave quit working. the exhaust fan and the fan that runs while in use quit working. on 03/19/2012, I called whirlpool, and they sent out a local contractor to fix it. they came out on 03/22/12. the tech had to order 5 parts for the microwave! 5 parts! he said he would be back on 03/29/12 at the same time (afternoon). they were a no call/no show. on 03/30/12, I called 3 times during the day about the status of my parts and they still couldn't find them. so, I called whirlpool and they said that their delivery wasn't in yet and I should call the next day. so, I had to wait over the weekend. I called the contractor on 04/02/12 and they still didn't have any information. on 04/03/12 I called again, and they had the part but the only way they could install it was in the morning. so, my son had to take off from school. yep, you guessed it, wrong part! I called whirlpool on 04/04/12. the customer service rep did a 1-2 priority shipping on the part. on 04/10/12, I called whirlpool and said I did not hear anything about my part. so, whirlpool called the contractor and yes, they ordered the wrong part again! so, another priority 1-2 day shipping of my part was on the way! on 04/17/12, I called whirlpool and said I haven't heard about the part. they called the contractor and said the part was in. so, it's almost closing time and we had to call the contractor. they said they had to check with a tech and that I should call the next day. on 04/18/12, after much argument, they said they would come out on 04/23/12! so, because of whirlpool and this contractor, I was out of my brand new microwave for 37 days. the contractor said that whirlpool was to blame because the schematics were wrong for the part. whirlpool blamed the contractor because of their poor service. to summarize, whirlpool customer service, "understands my frustration." yeah, I would like to see any of them in the call center go 37 days without a microwave! whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves. 37 days! and no one treated us with any compassion or priority. whirlpool should be fined for this treatment of their consumers.

I am now on my 2nd Whirlpool front loader washer in 2-1/2 years. My last fiasco with Whirlpool left me without a washer for 3 months! After numerous customer service call which I received the same spiel every time I finally got to a supervisor and she was the most rude person of them all! After 4 visits they claimed out of a “courtesy" they would replace not attempt to repair AGAIN. Their warranty states they only have to repair not replace! (If you can believe that!) You would think when you pay $1K for a washer you would be a "Premier Customer"! I will NEVER buy another Whirpool appliance.

You're an idiot! Whirlpool also makes Kitchenaid and Jenn Air, those appliance are worth ALOT more than that unit, and yes thier warranty does state it's for repair, they did not have to replace the appliance or even have to assist with the repairs, seeing that it was 1 1/2 years out of warranty. Most companies if you're out of warranty will not help without payment or will just deny everything. Stop being so pampered and realize that Whirlpool is just a decent company trying to help customers if they have valid issues.
technical staff never tried to contact and resolved the problem
I’ve had the same bad experience with Sears and a frontload washer that I purchased from them. Within a year of purchase the drive belt broke. The technician arrived to do the repair after 3 weeks of waiting but failed to bring the belt along. I actually had to run out and find and purchase the belt myself otherwise I would have had to wait another 3 weeks for the repair. After the drive belt, the bellow ripped. That was another 5 weeks of waiting for Sears to order and deliver the bellow.
Turns out the repair technician did not install the bellow correctly and my washer shredded my sheets and shirts. I fixed the bellow myself and today the drive belt broke again. Sears has horrible customer service and their technicians are useless. I will never buy anything from Sears again and tell everyone I know about my experience.

refrigerator quit working after 3 months
I thought that whirpool made good dependable products, however I stand to be corrected for this type of thinking.I do believe that at one time in America Whirpool was a good product, but in modern times quality companies are being bought out by companies that produce a cheap product under the well known name of quality. Don’t trust the well known names any longer. I remember, and this dates me, when a brand name appliance would last 20 years, had few service calls, and the product required no extended warranty.
My daughter and her husband bought a Whirpool refrigerator from Lowes in may 2010, they did not buy the extended warranty, The refridgerator quit working on September 29, 2011. Whirpool listened to my complaints in a polite manner, but more or less said that is the way products are made today, your daughter should have purchased the extended warranty.
I feel that it is a shame that major companies have no pride of craftsmanship in a product, that products are made to be disposable, but as consumers we are also to blame because we tolerate low standards and continue to consume. My daughter had to buy a new refridgerator, whirpool’s brand only lasted 15 months, but I guarantee that they did not buy the Whirpool brand.
My anology of Whirpool is this, One can shear a sheep many times, but you can only skin a sheep once! I will never buy a Whirpool product again.

The motor burned out. Unfortunately I lost my job the month the one year warranty ran out, so we were late in adding out stupid dollars to the millions and probably billions whirlpool makes on the back side of selling cheaply made, defective appliances.
Although the store rep admitted we got a lemon, and that one year of normal usage should in no way cause this type of malfunction, well... Talk is cheap, and we got stuck with a product the company and the retailer will in no shape or form, stand behind.
We have learned 2 lessons, don't trust the name whirlpool for quality [as we did in the past] and don't think being a loyal customer and spending thousands of dollars over the years at murphy appliance will matter.
What matters? Much like car dealers making billions on "service after the sell"...
That's where the money is for appliances too.

Purchased a whirlpool cabrio just over a year ago. Washing machine does not clean clothes! While under warranty a service tech came out to look at it; after hearing the problem he replied that it was a common complaint and that he could not "fix" the machine because the problem was that it is so poorly made that it simply does not work. His recommendation was to come to terms with the loss of a thousand dollars as whirlpool would not rectify the problem.
Whirlpool really showed their true colors when they refused to cover the repair tech visit. Whirlpool supervisor Kitty #3624 explained to me that "customer advice" was not covered under warranty and that we would have to pay the bill. Highlights of her argument were that we should just rinse the clothes multiple times and they would eventually get clean. She also mention that if the machine really did not work as described that we should have complained sooner even though it was still under the one year warranty. WHIRLPOOL WILL SELL YOU JUNK, BACKED WITH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE; BEWARE!
