very unprofessional
I have a white electric Maytag oven. I recently used the cleaning function and noticed that each time I used it the trim on top of the door was turning brown. I was not able to wipe it off; the heat was turning the paint brown. I called Maytag around 10/13/2009 and the rep told me the stove is out of warranty but they will cover the parts if I cover the service. She gave me the numbers of two service companies and Stellar was one of them. I called them and they told me the service call would be $72.95+tax. At first I hesitated but I called them. The owner himself came out around 10/14. He began looking at my oven and I went into another room to give him his space. In less than 10 minutes he told me that it was normal but he could order the trim and I would get it in 7 to 10 working days. Things went downhill after this though. He noticed that I had a stack of newspapers from 11/4/2008 with President Obama on the front. He told me "You have enough Obama newspapers"? (Not verbatim) and I told him that I had meant to give them to friends. Then he started talking about the "flat tax" he proposes and how he hates Obamas policies. Of course, I defended Obama and he retracted what he said and told me flat out in my kitchen "I HATE OBAMA" and he continued arguing with me out in the driveway. He turned out to be a birther, deather, and tea bagger all-in-one. I called Whirlpool/Maytag a few weeks ago and told them what happened. The rep told me that what happened to my oven is normal and the first rep should have known. Stellar should have known too but they saw this as a money making opportunity. This rep apologized for what I went through and sent me a check for $50.00. I FINALLY got the part on 11/13 that Stellar ordered and it was black instead of white. So much for that 7 to 10 days. The wife of the owner said she would personally inspect this part before it was mailed to me but obviously she did not. I called Maytag/Whirlpool and they are sending me a new white trim kit. I left messages on Stellars answering machine finally telling them how I felt about their customer service. I am sure I will get a call back from them on Monday. I will NEVER call them for anything EVER again. Their customer service stinks and you do not go into someones house disrespecting them. This tea bagger will never come into my house again.

price match policy
I purchased a Whirlpool front load washer and dryer from Bray and Scarff in Oct. 2009 on the premise that they have a 75 day price match policy. Several weeks later I visted ApplianceLand in Annapolis only to discover that there everyday price was over $400.00 cheaper. Upon contacting my saleman I was informed that I needed a quote to prove that I was not lying. First of all I do not lie and nor will I ever deal with this outfit again. Shortly after I cancelled my order and had both units delivered from ApplianceLand with great service from there delivery crew. If you want the best price than stay away from Bray and Scarff and there untrue price match policy.

microwave oven door cracking
We built our house in 2005. Both of us are retired and were told that Whirlpool was the best. Therefore, we purchased all Whirlpool Applicances. Our Microwave Oven is hardly ever used and now has a "hugh" crack from the side of the door, protruding all around the handle. Also, chips of plastic is falling off the corners of the door. I called Whirlpool and they said I need to purchase a new door for the microwave. After checking, the door cost more than a new microwave. We had a microwave for 20 yrs. and never had one problem. We have decided to replace it with a new microwave but for sure, not a WHIRLPOOL. I would never, never recommend their products to anyone. We will never purchase any of Whirlpool products. Four years and another oven to be replaced that has never been abused. Guess the stove and refrigerator will be next. Their products are terrible and I will NEVER buy another of their products.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Same here. Model MH1150XMB0. It started cracking after 2 years and I checked to buy a new door but that costs almost as much as a new one. It should have been a recall... I taped it together and looks bad but it works just fine.
I have the same issue. We too purchased all new Whirlpool appliances in 2005. Our microwave is doing the exact same thing. We have also had to relace the control board on the dishwasher. I worked for the company whoch sold these appliances and i am very ashamed to say i recommended these to others.
I have exactly the same problem for years . I also have the 2005 model. The model number is MH1150 XMB-2, made in July 2005. Whirlpool sucks.
I had the door replaced by Whirlpool within one year and guess what, the second door also has cracked. The quality of these microwaves is abysmal. I have washer from Whirlpool which leaks if the bleach hole is used. I have decided to stay away from Whirlpool and go for brands that offer better quality.
defective electric range
I purchased a new electric range directly through Whirlpool by telephone. It was delivered on October 13 but because I needed an electrician it was not installed until Friday the 16th.
I made a pot of soup that afternoon and did not use it again until Sunday afternoon. I turned on the oven for the first time to preheat for pizza rolls and had read in the owners manual to expect a bit of smoke and foul smell.
When the beeper sounded for up to temperature I opened the door and a bit of smoke and a funny odor came out but I was not concerned. As the pizza rolls heated the smell was getting quite obnoxious so I opened the oven after they had been in for 9 minutes. Black smoke rolled out and the fumes choked me. I grabbed the pizza rolls and closed the door, then turned it off. As I grabbed the pizza rolls I noticed some type of bubbling liquid on the bottom of the oven. So after the stove began to cool down and I had some of the fumes out by using my attic fan I opened the door and inspected the oven. There was dripping stuff that looked like hot plastic or silicone sealant it was still wet on the oven bottom and beginning to turn white in the areas of the oven it was cooler on. After a complete cool down I could see a cloudy plastic like substance down the back, both side walls and the front door. It was in globs on the oven racks. I called Whirlpool immediately that day (Sunday afternoon) and was told a service man would arrive Tuesday afternoon. I explained that a service man could not fix this that they would have to replace this defective stove. He insisted to let a technician look at it
The service man from whirlpool arrived late Tuesday afternoon and he agreed that the stove should be replaced but he said “we’ll see what they say” and got on the phone to a lady in a whirlpool office. He explained to her about the plastic and she put him on hold. The Tech switched to speaker phone while on hold so I heard her when she came back came back to say “tell the customer to run the self clean and burn out the residue” When I heard her I said “I don’t want to burn that off in my home I want another stove” The tech relayed what I said, the lady then said we are not send another stove tell her to run the self clean. I again said “No! Just take it back, I want a refund”
He took her off speaker phone, told her what I said and after a minute he hung up. He again said what she told him to say, that I should run the self clean, and I again said I did not want to but since I had no choice I would try. I turned it on while the technician watched. He finished his computer “paperwork” He said my oven racks were not usable due to the amount of plastic on them so he ordered two new racks for the oven
As the fumes were filling my house he gave men the number he had called and said that if this did not fix it or if there was anything wrong to “keep after them and make them give you another stove” and he left
The smell in my home became unbearable, I had both doors open and attic fan running and it was really bad. I called local fire dept and man said the fumes were highly toxic for my disabled husband and I so I called whirlpool again. This is Tuesday evening, after dark. I spoke with a couple of people, each time explaining what was happening and being put on hold, the whole time I am at my back door with air blowing in because I cant stay in the house. (we are in the Midwest, it was chilly)
Finally I get a supervisor who tells me to shut the stove down at the breaker immediately. I did. He then gave me over to someone else in safety dept who was concerned about if we were sick and did we go to hospital either time we smelled the fumes. I kept telling her “no, we had bad headaches and I have another one now, I want a new stove or my money back” but she said she had no control over that, someone will call me tomorrow.
Wednesday… no one called.
Thursday I called the number the technician gave me to plead for help. I was transferred and put on hold so many times… I ended up with the same person (Babs) that the technician had talked with. She said they would not replace the stove. She said the techs report says if I use the self clean that will fix the stove. I tried to explain about what else happened but she kept cutting me off and putting me on hold for long periods of time then come back and state “we are not going to replace the stove”
I said but mam please let me finish and she got very snotty and said “what ?” and I tried to explain that a supervisor in her company had told me to shut the stove off and she screamed at me “and our technician told you to run the self clean to fix it”
I tired again “but mam” and she again yelled at me, I said that the super told me to shut it down AFTER the tech was here. She put me on hold again and when she came back she said No again.
I tried again pleading with her. I paid cash for this stove, it was the first time it was used, it is obviously a manufacturing defect of some sort and I now have a brand new stove that I was told by your supervisor to shut down sitting in my kitchen that I can not use. What am I supposed to do.
She put me on hold
Came back again and transferred me to a man named Jim, supervisor in safety dept and I had to explain it all again. This makes the 7 or 8th time and I was told by the person who connected me to Babs that all the information was already in the file but they made me say it all over again and by this time I was shaking and on the verge of tears.
Jim said “the stove works so we are not going to replace it”
I again went through the whole talk about how I now have a brand new stove they (whirlpool) has told me to shut down at the power source and not use because of the toxic fumes what am I supposed to do. With a smirk he said I could turn it over to my homeowners insurance!
I have been contacted by Whirlpool and they are working to resolve the problem
Thank you Stephanie

I purchased whirlpool double oven range model number WGGSOBW02 Feb 2015. I May of 2016 The upper oven overheats to 600 degrees while the tempature is set at 350 Degrees. There is no way an $1100.00 gas stove should go out on a product that is 15 months old should be this undependable and need to be repaired! Whirlpool wants you to buy their service contract that retired individuals can not afford! I have a dependable appliance service man in my area who replaced the computer board and this still did not fix the problem! Unfortunately you are stuck with poor customer service since Whirlpool makes Roper, jenn Aire, magnate brands even though they do not advertise this information but have found out this information from other Whirlpool customers. As a very sissatisfied customer I do not see what a regular customer can do to not buy their products as they are the maker of so many of the brands in the market place.
I purchased a Whirlpool classic range model number RF263LXTS0 on January 2010. We had some hang-ups on the kitchen renovations and were not able to install the appliances until May 2011. Used the cook top that evening, was very pleased. I then went to use the oven about 2 weeks later and it did not heat up. I asked my contractor to come and check things out ( maybe it was something minor I was over looking). He checked the things that he installed and everything on his end was working fine and told me to call Whirlpool. A service technician came out and within 10 minutes said that the oven control panel was defective. I paid $450.00 for this oven originally. The service technician charge me $136.74 for the 10 minutes he was there to tell me that the oven control needed replaced (that is a major part of the oven) and that it would cost me $318.41 to replace the part. I called Whirlpool and explained my circumstance and Paula (she was the supervisor from Tennessee) said that there was nothing she could do (which is BS because she is the supervisor and she has the ability to right the wrong.) I told her that even if I installed the oven back in January of 2010, the major part of the oven should last more then 1 1/2 years. What terrible craftsmanship and crappy customer service. It is sad that customer service can't stand by there products and Whirlpool has to rely on making there money on repairing there defective products. I now have to go out and buy a new oven. I also buy a lot of appliances in my business and I will never buy a Whirlpool again.
junk
First... Dont buy a water heater from lowes! Second... Dont buy a whirlpool... As a matter of fact dont buy anything from whirlpool! I have been fighting with whirlpool now for almost 3 yrs... Not only am I out over 500$... I dont have hot water!.. They have "technicians" that are rude and ignorant.. That try to diagnose the problem over the phone and if they dont get it right then your out of luck until the next time u get fed up enough to call back and argue with a bunch of #s over the phone for another hour! So... After argueing with these "technicians".. They still give you another number that u have to call to get the real technicians to come out and look at it... And they give you a 4 hour time span that they will be out... So if you work 8 to 10 hrs a day you can never make your appt... I tried to get them to just take it back but they will only give you a replacement and thats only if they deem it to be out of commission... So basically you live with out hot water or u buy a new 1... Not whirlpool!

washing machine wobbles a lot while rinsing starts and stops
Hello,
We have bought Top loading, fully automatic Whirlpool washing machine. From last few months, it wobbles while rinsing starts and stops. We have to hold the machine tightly till it finishes the action so that it won't fell from the stand.
We laudged complaint for this in the month of Sept. Complaint number is : PN0909007508. Nothing happened after that for 15 days or so . When we called, the call center support representative told us that the complaint is closed.
No idea, how did this happen!
We again laudged another complaint on 3 rd Oct.09 - No. is : PN1009000839. Finally after 4-5 calls to support representative / call center executive, finally they sent a junior guy who was so arrogant that he started quarrelling with us as soon as he just saw machine. He was told the PCB is dead. We even don't know what a PCB means ( being an Engineer, i thought it is the a electronic circuit board, but I was wrong : Its the display on machine ) ... So, his point was : we complained as the PCB is dead. he stated arguing with us and pointing out fingers at me. What a representative sent by Whirlpool ...
He was miscommunicated by call center rep or he mistakenly mixed 2 different customers' problems. We don't know ... But he was so arrogant, he left home saying will come again to fix this problem.
Till date neither he has come, nor support guys have replied . Now, this complaint again is closed on their own. We came to know again after when we tried to reach support people. They assured us, they will send some one senior from the team.
I don't know what CRM software do they use which closes the complaints automatically without resolving problems and how they use / misuse their internal communications!
I don't expect such a service from such a renowned brand like Whirlpool. Instead of paying Lakhs of Rs to the brand ambassador for marketing and sales, i request whirlpool team to take care of their existing customers first and resolve issues. It definitely adds value to your existing customers + new customers acquisition.
Its almost more than 2 months from the date of laudging first complaint. We have not seen any positive ( ? ) response other than call center executive saying, please laudge the complaint for just one more time... For how many days should we expect same reply and no resolution of the problem!
Best Regards,
Snehal.

customer service lousy
Hi, I have bought my Whirlpool 'ice magic' 460L double door refrigerator in March 2005. The customer service is really sloppy. On Saturday Oct 24th we noticed that the refrigerator has stopped cooling spoiling our milk. We lodged a complaint via [protected]. The complaint number is 14545. the problem was supposed to fixed in 3 hours but nobody shows until after 48 hours. We are given few numbers to contact in the mean time which are all fruitless. The person comes checks on Monday Oct 26th at 3PM, says the freezer is working and I should check for 2 more days. I refused since 2 days have crossed since I lodged complaint and nothing better has happened but all my curds soured up. The milk spoils and curd sours again. I had to move my green vegetables to relatives fridge in another building. This service person says he will let his supervisor know and they will send somebody to clean some gas pipe. I don't understand, the service man who comes are not equipped to fix is it? How many people will evaluate before somebody actually fixes my problem. If the service person is not capable of fixing all issues why are you sending him? to harass customers further? Not at all happy with Whirlpool service. Will not recommend their products and will not buy their products in future.
Similar problem happened in Feb 2009 and replaced a bimetal- 455 part for Rs. 2000 + /-.
Thanks

whirlpool a/cs are craps
Hi,
I had purchased a brand new Whirlpool split A/C (1.5 tonne), Whirlpool Mastermind deluxe about 2 months ago for around Rs 22, 000/-. It comes with a 1 year warranty on the indoor unit and a 5 year warranty on the outdoor unit. This unit was purchased in Chennai and is installed in my home in Chennai.
In less than 2 months purchase, the A/C stopped working. i.e., everything seemed to work, but the cooling was not there. I called the customer service and explained them the problem. They sent some service guys to our home the very next day. Those service guys examined the A/C and gave a report to the Whirlpool customer care that the Outdoor unit has a problem and has to be replaced. Those guys mentioned to me that the Whirlpool company will replace the outdoor unit in 3-4 days.
But I have been waiting for more than a week, no proper response from the customer care. They keep repeating the same thing over and over, "We have escalated your problem, they are looking into it. The Delhi Office will approve it and once we get the approval, we will deliver and install the new unit"
But they offer no ETA at all.
We are living with the kids living in a hot area (around 36C) without the A/C. The fans keep circulating hot air around us. We can't even have the windows open during the evenings for fear of mosquitoes.
I had purchased the brand new A/C just to avoid all these kinds of hassles. But this is what I have been experiencing!
My house owner had complained to me of the unusually large size of the outdoor unit and the terrible noise it makes. He asks, "Do you want the people in your neighborhood to sleep peacefully or not?"
He suggested to me to go for "Good" brands like Onida, Samsung etc. He has been having a Onida for a few years now. It is as noiseless as an indoor fan. very compact and beautiful. The room chills within 15 min.
I know Whirlpool is the leading Home Appliance maker in the world. Whirlpool US's top of the line models are awesome (I had lived in the US for the fast 5 years and used some of them). But Whirlpool India is crap. Just take a look at their product manual and you will know. They can't spell anything correctly. No grammar, no proper pictures... products are made of cheap plastic.
Overall judgement:
Whirlpool India Product: Total Crap
Customer Service: Crapy
Price: Exorbitant for the piece of crap they are providing
DO NOT EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL INDIA PRODUCT IN YOUR LIFETIME and PASS THIS MESSAGE ALONG TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND ACQUAINTANCES

My whirlpool cabrio is 20 months old. the elect. panel has already been replaced, and it leaked water from the bottom. I hate this washing machine for the fact that it does not clean clothes. Anything dark will come out of the washing machine with residue on it. Clothes and sheets look dirtier when they come out than when you put them into the washer. I washed a set of king sheets, several times, and they would come out with DRY places on them! Deodorant marks under the arms of shirts never come out. My family is big on sport fishing, up until I bought this $989.00 Whirlpool Cabrio HE Washer (Piece of JUNK), I never had problems cleaning the fish smell out of clothes. Since I purchased my new whirlpool Cabrio HE, I have to wash clothes 3 times to get the smell out...oh, that's after I do a soak. Whirlpool stands behind this product saying it works properly because the computer doesn't show any problems when they hook up and do a scan...I have asked the technician to smell my clothes and tell me if they are clean, , , they decline. Towels never smell fresh either..Oh...and I spend about $8.00 a month on washing machine cleaner to keep the horrible smell out of the washing machine; I never had to clean my old agitator Whirlpool. I am thoroughly DISGUSTED with this machine. Do NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL CABRIO HE WASHER...IT IS JUNK!

no cooling
I had bought a whirlpool 310 l professional deluxe refrigerator on 2 nd, Sep, 2009. With in 10 days I noted that it was not cooling below the maximum temp. I registered my first complaint with the customer care on 15 sept, an engineer came and said it is not working because of voltage problem anyhow he started the fridge on maximum. again next day the problem occured and I complained, the engineer called up to know the problem and said its thermostat was faulty.after two days some other engineer came and said sensor was not working properly. He brought the fridge in working condition and left. Next day again the same problem reoccured, two days back when I complained they said the Engineer has not yet filed the report and your problem will be solved today itself. That day and next day no one came and when I called the customer care today They Have given me another complaint no. Now in total I have 3 complaints nos that is, HR0909003876( 15 Sep), HR0909004871, HR09006856 and I am unable to understand how to get the problem solved.Kindly help me. defective dishwasher motors
We purchased a $500.00 Whirlpool GU1200 dishwasher in 2003. In little more thatn a year, just long enought to be out of warranty, the items in the top rack were not getting clean. We did not connect the problem with the motor until the repairman we called out diagnosed the problem. We had him install a new motor for about $300.00.
Within 6 or 7 months we were having the same issue - top rack not getting clean, soap not always getting rinsed out of dispenser. Called the repairman back - diagnosis: motor is burned out. When we asked if the motor was not under warranty, being only 6 or 7 months old, we were told that the motor was only guaranteed for 3 months. A $185.00 motor guaranteed for 3 months? We did not have the motor replaced, but called Whirlpool and complained. They repeated the same thing: it is no longer under warranty.
I made a pest of myself with emails and letter to Whirlpool Customer Service and to company officials. Finally, a Whirlppol exec. calls and says they will send us a new motor as a goodwill gesture, but will not pay for the installation. This was the best I could get. We agreed; they sent the motor and my husband installed it.
That was a year and a half ago and the motor has been failing for the last 6 months. We have not yet contacted Whirpool about this, but are pretty sure it will be the same excuse - not covered under warranty.
I will never again buy a Whirlool product, nor any product made by an affiliaited company (Maytag, Kitchen Aid). By the way guess where that defective motor is made? You guessed it - China!

terrible quality products
I recently bought a Whirlpool gas dryer. One day, without warning, the dryer would not go into the drying mode once you pushed the button even though you could hear the power going on.
I called to get repair service for my warrantied product but they do not have an opening till next week. They gave me a number of a local repair service and they said they wouldn't be in my area for two weeks.
On top of that the person who answered the customer support line told me that it's not a perfect world and not every product is perfect after it comes out of the factory. What a way to instill consumer confidence. I am buying a competitor next time.

not even working from the installation for the past 6 months
I have purchased a water purifier RO Purafresh Deluxe from Whirlpool from Chennai Viveks .I installed on March 12 in Trichy but the technician was not even capable of handling a screw Driver.
It never worked from Day 1.
i lodged a complaint at their regional service center for service.
no body responded for any number of times.
Finally i spoke to their head office and yet another technician came to my place and tried to find the fault and he told that the previous technician and he nevr came back.
frustrated finally i decided i have donated Rs.15000 towards Whirlpool for buying a toy which will be in my Home but never going to work.

In this 100th year of whirlpool celebration here is a request to help replace a R.O bought on 23.1.2010.This machine worked perfectly for 6 months.Later even when the tank is filled to its capacity the motor ran endlessly.Twice technicians replaced the switch but this fault recurred again and again.I requested the engineer to give me a replacement before the warranty ends but of no avail. After the warranty period, we switched off the machine whenever the tank is full. One fine day we received a call from whirlpool service center inquiring if everything was okay. When we said the motor never stopped they send an engineer who replaced the switch again and charged Rs.450+Rs.250 service charge.15 days later the machine ran violently with water leaking from all sides. When inquired they said the motor has to be replaced which will cost Rs.2400.For a middle class family like us this seems to be a costly affair.I request the concerned authorities of whirlpool to look into this issue and do the needful making this 100th year a happy one for the customer too.
whirlpool's service sucks
I must say that I never expected soemthing like this from whirlpool. I bought a dishwasher from future shop. It is just 8 months old. One day it wouldn't turn on, I called whilrpool and they sent a technician out the next day. Great I thought. The technicican told us that hte console was gone. He did not tell us anything else. Three days later I called them back to see when the part was going to come and I was told the technician did not update the file. They said they were going to get in touch with the technician and ask him to update the file and that I needed to give him 24-48 hours to complete this. After 48 hrs I called back only to find out that he still hadn't updated the file. I was then told that they will contact his superviosr and that I need to give him 24-48 hours to get back to them. After 48 hours I called back again to find out that nothing has progressed on it since they do not have a serial number for the machine. Now why would the technician not have taken this down when he visited our home. I then gave them the serial number and was told the part should arrive in 3-5 days. When I called back on the 5th day I was told that the technican had ordered the wrong part and that the correct part was ordered two days ago and should arrive by tuesday. When I called back on tuesdeay I was told that the system did not have pricing for the part that I needed and the part was not ordered yet. They then got pricing and ordered the part. It has now been 20 days and the part was ordered today. I hope it was ordered. I am now to wait 3 days. If the technican does not call me by the 4th day I am to call the call centre back. Oh and to top it all off, I asked for a supervisor and this lady came on the line. I told her my whole story and asked why so many mistakes were being made on my service call and her answer "I don't see any mistakes being made". Basically the supervisor did nothing more for me than the regular service all people. I even asked if there was anything she could do to ensure the correct completion of this job and she said the technican willl get in touch with you when the part arrives. I will never buy anything whilrpool again!

scheduling lies
This is what I wrote on their contact site, based on my experience:
I called your call center last Tuesday to get somebody to look at my refrigerator, because it wasn't making any ice. They said they would get somebody to my house on Friday, between 8am and 5pm, and call me the day before with a 2 hour window.
On Thursday, I got an automated call confirming my service call on Friday, and said that the technician would arrive sometime between 8am and 5pm. (So much for a 2 hour window!) On Friday, I went about my errands (my wife was home), and nobody called until about 12:30pm. They told me that they weren't going to be able to get a technician to my house that day, and they wanted to reschedule for today (Tuesday). I refused, and demanded that they send a tech that day. The lady said that they couldn't. I demanded to speak to a manager. I spoke with James, and expressed my annoyance, and he hung up on me! (I refrained from using profanity, although I did refer to idiots.) I called the store where I bought the fridge, and they gave me the name of a different service. I called them and set an appointment for today (their first opening).
I called your center back, and the man who answered the phone advised me that the technician was off that day. I asked to speak to a manager, and demanded (and would still like to know) why they couldn't have figured that out early in the morning and called me. I told them to cancel the appointment if they couldn't get someone out that day. They said they couldn't, and I cancelled and hung up. A few minutes after I hung up, I got another call from your center, saying (lo and behold!) they found a tech who could come that day.
At this point, why would I believe anything that any of your people say? This is NOT the way to treat and retain customers. From a fast search on the web, I'm not the only person who has been lied to and abused by your crappy service.
I WILL NEVER USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN! I HOPE YOU IDIOTS GO OUT OF BUSINESS, UNLESS YOU LEARN HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE!
The other company's (Goldwing) tech called me this morning, told me when he would be there, came and fixed the refrigerator. I now have ice, and I now know whom to call when I need a repair. No problems with them. Use Goldwing instead.
poor service/spare back up
I have double door 320 litre refrigerator model code 4953. i lodged complaint with customer care of whirlpool ( complaint no 11326 dated 3/4 aug 09) about no/reduced cooling in the fridge. Initially one engineer came(Anil). He ripped open the freezer and informed us that temperature bulb was faulty. Next day another engineer came and said that in adition to bulb, the bimetallic cut out/cut in was also faulty. Needless to say that both spares were not available at Visakapatnam. The spares were requisitioned from hyderabad. Till todate (ie 02 weeks later) spares are yet to come. reasons given are of various types a) defect wrongly diagnosed hence incorrect spare ordered b) spare despatched by courier, not yet recd c) spare recd but not completly d) spare recd but wrong spare has arrived.
Local whirlpool service centre totally clueless about the spare availablity/status. Engineer "Anil" doesnot pick up cellphone/switched off. Mr Ramana, service in-charge, appeared to be reasuring but not convincing about the spare availaibility. His cellphone also invariably busy/kept on hold/keeps ringing with no response/ switched off ( between 8 pm and next day morning about 10 am). Nobody calls back even if missed call is seen on the cellphone. i have decided to take the company to consumer court and will make them pay for the mental harrassment, agony and unpleasant situation at home. Such companies should be taught a lesson and good one at that.
