This is more a complaint about Whirlpool Customer Service than it is about the dryer. After I bought a washer and dryer set almost one year ago, the dryer stopped working. Best Buy referred me to Whirlpool for service because it was less than one year old. Whirlpool directed me to their local authorized repair service. That guy ended up coming out four times, fixing the same thing at least three times. (The dryer would work for a short time, and then turn off again. Just kept happening over and over.)
After contacting Whirlpool CS again several times, they refused to replace the dryer or offer a refund. Or ANY other make-good. The only thing offered was to send another authorized repair service to make a service call. So that happened at least three more times. (Same thing kept happening...dryer worked for a while, then it didn't turn on again.)
Unbeknownst to me, both WHIRLPOOL-AUTHORIZED repair services failed to contact the Whirlpool Tech Team during the service calls, as they were supposed to. Finally, just short of the one-year mark, a service tech came to fix it again and he did contact the Whirlpool Tech Team. They figured out this whole problem was related to a loose wire. I cannot roll my eyes far enough back into my head.
Desired outcome: a working dryer and better customer service
