i think all of you LOSERS, should quit whining. you've had plenty of time i'm sure to pay your student loans they give you plenty of time before a loan goes to a collection agency to start making payments. maybe, if you had paid your bills on time like you were supposed to, then they wouldn't be calling you in the first place. get jobs losers and pay your bills, quit whining and looking for sympathy be adults work for your money and pay the government back ! it' s losers like you stealing all the governments money for personal benefits and not paying it back! all this time you spend on the computer whining about a collection agency you could be going to school or working TO PAY YOUR BILLS YOU DON'T PAYYYYYYYYY loserssssssssss

Dearest Get Paper,
Many people fall behind on their loans because of hard times or because they are simply not making enough money. Some of these people are educating our children, providing health care for us, and/or are even loan providers themselves.
Perhaps you should take out a loan and receive a formal education so that you can learn that a sentence actually begins with a capital letter and how to write a complaint nicely so that people are not offended but actually listen to what you have to say.
And if I may be so bold how is it that you have the time to just sit and read complaints about businesses and then complain about the people complaining about them? Seriously I only come on here to see if a business is successful or if I feel I've been wronged. My two jobs, coaching position, and time I use for recreation definately does not allow me the time to complain about people that are complaining. Of course I make an exception in this case seeings how you are totally out of line and think a proper education would do you some good. Best of luck passing your entrance exams:)

Thank you MrsSmith007 - It is true some collectors are rude, but that shouldn't make or break your decision about a single company. All companies that are collecting on behalf of the Government do follow collection guidelines that are intended to protect your security. It is understandable about Identity theft, but do you understand how many times these collectors probably hear that a day? Do you understand the yelling and screaming they have to deal with on the other end? In all actuality these collectors are the same as you, they are just trying to make a decent living, PAY THEIR BILLS, put food on the table and simply provide for their families. In all honestly with student loans the government does give you plenty of time, and notification about repaying the loan. For Heavens sake you sign a contract to repay the loan in a timely manner, and if you cant they have alternate options available, such as deferment or forbearance. In certain circumstances third party collection agencies do have the option to extend certain programs out to people who are unemployed, disabled, or on a fixed income. If you move, or change your number and the government cannot get in contact with you, and the loan goes into collections - that is completely your own fault. Which is where the added fees come into play. If the Department of Education cannot collect on the student loan, and there hasn't been payments on it, it will be sent to collections - the fees added onto the loan are more than likely Collection Agency Fees. Collection Agency Fees are tacked onto the loan by the Department of Education when a loan has to be given to a Third Party Collection Agency to be handled.

HEY! You have no right to accuse all the victims of these lowlife bottom feeders losers. Are they actually paying you all to go on these sites and be your usual rude, nasty selves? The problem with these so-called professional collection agencies is they are greedy, uncooperative, rude, liars - the list goes on and on. They break the law regularly. They add ridiculous amounts of money onto the original bill. Most of the things they tell people are outright lies if not a twist on the truth. They refuse to admit they have the wrong person. They regularly call the wrong number and then accuse the person answering the phone of lying, among other things. They foolishly, repeatedly harass the wrong person wasting their own time as well as their victims' time. They are uncooperative and when someone tries to pay off their debt they do everything in their power to make it impossible. If you sit down, figure out your finances and tell them I can give you so much each month it is NEVER enough. They are guilty of usury. They try to take advantage of people and set them up so they are paying a bill forever - it never gets paid off. They encourage their employees to be rude and uncooperative. They actually seem to take pleasure threatening and terrorizing people. Identity theft has become a common problem, yet you refuse to acknowledge it. The problems with the economy are well known, joblessness is rampant, and yet the poor guy who is still making every effort to pay his bills is terrorized by these scumwads. Your attitude is really poor. One has to wonder how warped your personality is that you think your behavior is acceptable anywhere. Then we have to wonder about your intelligence. If someone doesn't have the money - they don't have it. It is illogical to try to force someone who doesn't have $50 to come up with $100 and call them names (which, BTW, is incredibly childish and immature) when they can't do it. It isn't going to magically appear just because you get nasty.
BTW, yes, there are some people out there who geniuinely avoid paying their bills. They are in the minority. It's really sad that your worldview has everyone guilty. How awful to live that way! You must be so unhappy, it can't be pleasant to live in your world. I almost feel sorry for you, some day you're going to wake up and realize how deplorable your behavior has been. An honest person should never deal with you bottom feeders because you WILL take advantage of them and rob them blind while you make their lives a living hell.

Windham Professionals These people thretened me

This company had a 400 pound woman come to my office and was rude to my employees and said we were going out of business. I called and spoke to Brian Trepaney at Windham and he also threatened me that he was going to call all my employees at home and inform them to quit working for us. He also said he was going to call my whole family as well as me at home all day and night untill I paid a debt of a business we owned and now is closed due to the economy. I am now a manager of a business, and these people are coming to my job! Is this legal? I think not. Now I have to retain an attorney to fight off these cochroaches. We have a video survailance system and we have it taped of these hit woman coming to my place of employment.

Windham Professionals they took money outta my account with my permission to pay my defaulted school loan and i just found out that the gov never recieved 1payment.

i see that someone wrote that they tried to pay there student loan and tx gov wouldnt give them a payment plan. that is too funny because i have talked to a girl at windham professionals and she told me she was collecting for my defaulted school loan. And i was more than willing to make automatic payments to be taken from my bank account. So i thought all was worked out and the payments were being taken out and i kept getting other collection agencies for them saying that i wasnt making payments. it seemed every month i was going through this. i had to keep calling and explaining i had the withdrawl amount paper from my bank in front of me. i just recently(today)got a letter from the comm of Mass telling me im in default and i explained that this happens every month and the man said that he doesnt know who i have been dealing with but this entire time iv been making payments towards my no interest loan that not one time did it show on there records. so i immediately called my bank and told them to cease all automatic withdrawls from them and ill be coming in to close and reopen another bank account. The lady i spoke with(at windham professionals) seemed so nice and professional one minute and the next she had to get off the phone asap. pretty much hanging up on me. Things were extremely weird everytime i got a phone call or called, it seemed she had 2 personalities. but i havent ever been scammed like that and i didnt believe i could be and im on ssi/disabled and i cant afford to be paying people that i dont owe. im so upset with myself but how was i suppose to know.

This is a third party collection company. Never make payment arrangements with a third party company unless you have verified that they were retained by the first party to handle such a collection. It appears that this company is fraudulently attempting to collect debts. Unfortunately, companies like this one will receive shared reports of unpaid debts and prey upon them as if they are the collection company. Always attempt to communicate with th original creditor first to verify and then to make payment arrangement directly with them. They will confirm whether they had legitimately passed collection to a third party for handling.

Windham Professionals Harrasment/Inappropriate rudeness

Very rude people work here!
I was contacted about a month ago AT WORK from a lady by the name of Betty. Betty asked me if this was a good time to talk and I said I'm at work but I have a minute because no one was here. She stated that my student loans were in default and they were trying to collect. I said okay but my student loans are through Citibank. She said they took over the account and that I would need to pay them $200.00 a month. I explained to her that I'm a recent single parent and I work while my child is in school. I receive no financial help at this time from the father. I asked for some information from the company to make sure that I was actually paying for a reputiable company. She said she would send out information in the mail for me. On the following Monday at work I received a call from a gentleman his name was Bryan. Bryan was calling me to inform me of a debt that he's collecting on. I told him that I spoke to Betty on Friday and that I was waiting on paperwork that she was sending me. Bryan informed me that Betty no longer works in that department and that he took over her caseload. I said well I'm still waiting on confirmation of the debt and information on your company before I proceed to make payments, he then told me that is something that his company didn't do. I said well then there is nothing I can do until you get me information. Less than 10 minutes later I get a call from Cheryl (a supervisor) and she says oh, well glad you answered the phone, I was calling to verify employment to start garnishing your wages. I was like woah...my boss was in her office behind me so I couldn't say what I really wanted to say at that time so I told her I would have to call her back. I went on my lunch and dialed the number back spoke to a Missy, I explained my phone calls that I received at work told them to not call me anymore or there will be no paychek from a job to be garnished. She told me that they have a right to garnish wages and I said I understand this all I'm asking for is some information on who and what the hell you are...she tells me to look them up online...REALLY!
I have made 2 payments to this company and still no information that I have requested. I called them today to ask for the status of the paperwork or anything with confirmation that I have paid this money and my balance is going down and I get the same ole crap...We don't do that...I said well why dont you cancel taking anymore money out until you can provide me with some type of receipt of payment and balance information. She then started getting really angry and yelling at me well thats just fine I'll cancel your account and send you straight to wage garnishment...we are the government we dont have to answer to a court order to garnish your wages...you work at a law firm what are you just a receptionist...If you would have handled your business like you were supposed to we wouldnt be having this conversation. At that point I was fed up with talking to her and I hung up. Less than 5 minutes later I walk back into my office and the law clerk says that some rude lady just called by the name of missy from Windham Professionals asking about who does our payroll. He told her that he wasnt sure and that she could leave her call back information. I called back and requested to speak to a supervisor and was immediately connected to no other than Missy...she starts laying into me again...I refused to talk to her..She kept saying you asked for it, you asked for it, now I'm going to garnish your wages...I dont understand how these people are allowed to talk to us in the way they do. Something needs to be done with the type of people that they employ..
Oh, and to all the Windham employees that respond to this board and tell us that we should just shut up and pay our bills...Don't hate that we actually went out and got an education (hence the student loans) and you are stuck working for a collection agency making minimum wage...PLEASE!

Windham Professionals Collections

On 12/01/09, my mother, Luz G. Malaret received a call from this collection agencie at 10:00 PM (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) states that a debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 in the morning or after 9 at night, unless you agree to it). It was a restricted call from “Windham Professionals” by a lady called Terry Waltson (Tel: [protected] Ext. 7560). It is nearly impossible for Terry to have communicated anything my mother could of have completely comprehended in a manner she could understand due to the language barrier, only causing her to be confused, scared, and fearful. My mother does not speak or understand English very well and she was coerced into taking out a loan to make this payment. Terry used illegal scare tactics that involved legal threats to freeze assets, seize property, inquiry to finances, property ownerships, and mediated ways for my mother to pay off this debt regardless of her financial means within a set deadline for a set consequence. She told my mother that if she did not call her back to pay by 2 PM the next day she would understand that she did not want to pay and send it to legal so they could freeze her assets. My mother under the pressure and fear of getting all her assets frozen and therefore losing her job since she works for a bank went ahead and took a loan out to pay for the debt in total.

On 12/02/09, I spoke with Terry and I asked her why she called my mother instead of me. She first indicated that she called me and I told her I didn’t have any voice mails from her agency also that the only “weird Calls” I’ve been getting are always around 6 AM and I don’t pick up the phone at that time. She indicated that even if she hadn’t called me she could call my mother directly without contacting me first. I told her there is no way my mother can afford to make that payment to the bank and requested her money sent back to her and a payment plan be set up directly with me. She said in a very rude tone “Pay your mother back (a couple of times), we can’t return her money”.

After reviewing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) I have come to the conclusion that the following FDCPA regulations have been broken and are illegal actions taken by “Windham Professionals” Collectors:
A debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 in the morning or after 9 at night, unless you agree to it. And collectors may not contact you at work if they’re told (orally or in writing) that you’re not allowed to get calls there.

If you don’t have an attorney, a collector may contact other people – but only to find out your address, your home phone number, and where you work. Collectors usually are prohibited from contacting third parties more than once. Other than to obtain this location information about you, a debt collector generally is not permitted to discuss your debt with anyone other than you, your spouse, or your attorney. (Even thought Luz Malaret is the cosigner for this loan, I was never contacted and there was no intent of noticing me about these actions)

Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ( I was never made aware that my loan was sent to a collection agency and neither was Luz Malaret.)

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:
• use threats of violence or harm;
• repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.
False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
• falsely claim that they have a way to freeze your assets;
Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:
• they’ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
• Legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don’t intend to take the action.
Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
• try to collect any interest, fee, or other charge on top of the amount you owe unless the contract that created your debt – or your state law – allows the charge; (the loan was for less than $8, 000 USD but they charged Luz for $10, 326.50)
• take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally.

To resolve this matter, they need to return discussions of alternatives.
the money to Luz Malaret and work with me directly to set up a payment plan as there were no

Windham Professionals Illegal Collection Practices

This company is trying to collect on debts I do not owe. They call me over and over again each day at work and home. They call before 8:00 AM in the morning and as late as 11 PM at night. I have requested they send me some type of verification of this debt that I owe and the collector flat out told me "you know you owe this, I do not need to send you anything". They want me to just give them a credit card number or checking #. She even told me that she was going to start garnishing my wages tomorrow and said that she was calling child protective services to have them take away my children.

Why are collection agencies like this able to get away with this? I am contacting a local consumer attorney here in my state to see if I can sue them for harassment or collecting on a debt that is not mine. They are destroying my life over something I do not owe.

I am experiencing the same thing. I was told by the RIHEAA that they cannot garnish your wages until you have been at your employer for one year. THREE MONTHS before I have been at my job for one year they called the woman in payroll where I work to discuss garsnishing my wages. They have stalked me on facebook, and somehow obtained the personal information of people on my friends list that I MYSELF HAVE NEVER MET OR SPOKEN to other than on the internet about mutual interests in photography, and called these people regarding my student loans. Also, the math on the absolutely ridiculous statement they sent me is wrong. I recommend calling the original lender. For me thats the Rhode Island Higher Education Assistance Authority. They were helpful. Also, if you google SUE WINDHAM PROFESSIONALS youll see a website called justia that lists over 90 cases against windham for this kind of stuff.

My first experience with Windham Professionals, in the summer of 2010, was with an individual by the name of Joe. This person was unsympathetic to my situation, A: I had no clue what loan he was talking about (I'm under the impression I only have one student loan, I only went for 1 semester) & B: I am unemployed, and have been since Jan of 2007. Joe did threaten me with wage garnishment, expressing as much on my voicemail. I was terrified when I heard that and quickly deleted the voicemail (I'm 23, I've never dealt with this before). There was a lull in calls from that point until most recently, an individual by the name of Kim had started leaving me voicemails about a "time-sensitive" manner. So, I looked up the company name and educated myself on the FDCPA. This morning, a friend and myself were chatting and at about 8:45AM(which is legal calling time), I had a phone call from an unavailable number. I don't answer unavailable numbers, but my friend answered for me. The caller refused to identify themselves, stating Massachusetts law refrained her from doing so, so my friend would not let the call go any further. She got a callback number which was the same number from my voicemail. May I also note that the company is located in Salem, NH, as the school who I allegedly owe this debt to is in Manchester, NH, and I lived in Manchester, NH when this debt may have occurred, and currently I live in metro Atlanta, GA. I gave it an hour, and called Kim back. Kim informed me that I was in debt to the college that I went to in an amount that I have seen reflected on my credit report. However, I am still not convinced that I owe this, I honestly do not recall this student loan and I have no proof of Promissory Note, etc. Kim understood when I explained to her that I am currently in the process of moving, I do not have a steady income, I do have somebody that may be willing to help me pay this bill off, but I need proof the billing. She said that she would mail out a statement, and then proceeded to ask if I wanted to provide a post-dated check. I declined, as I am unsure of how legal that is, and that I'd really prefer to protect myself from fraud. In conclusion if you search for the phone number that I have for Windham Professionals on google, you will find many websites declaring them as fraud. I am unclear on Massachusetts law, but I believe that according to the FDCPA my friend was within her legal rights to ask Kim to identify herself and that Kim neglecting to identify herself as "Kim" or as an employee of Windham Professionals is not within her legal rights. It is in my legal rights that Kim not disclose that she is calling because she is a debt collector, or what amount of money I owe to whom. Therefore, I do not wish to deal with Windham Professionals at all, and have already contacted the school for verification of debt, and I will see about setting up a payment plan with those individuals directly. I have also stated to the school that I do not feel comfortable with the 3rd party collection agency and that I feel they may practice illegally. I suggest others experiencing issues with them should do the same.

This place is ridiculous! I called in (on my own) to begin to make payments on a student loan of mine that was in default. The agents began to lecture me as if I were their child, and then threatened to garnish my wages. They would not let me get a word in to explain that I was trying to set up a payment plan. I ended up talking to two different supervisors and they all had the same type of "shame shame" spiel. They are completely unprofessional and rude, even when they're speaking with someone who is ready and willing to pay off debt!

after reading what you wrote here the thing is they can get away with everything they can do what ever it takes to get what they when they want and don't care they have caused me so stress that I had to go to the Dr to be put on medication they are so demanding that it is not funny they even told me that they can garnish any wages like social security and unemployment and my wages from my job and the thing is I am not working so they can try but they won't get it.
here is some useful information I found out several days ago that you can put a stop them calling you all you have to do is when they call tell them that you will not have any conversations over the phone and that you will do all communitactions through letter and I done that myself two days ago.
As for them calling you at your work place I believe that it is against the law for any collection to contact you at your work place and a collection has done that to me and my boss told them that he is not allowed to take personal phone calls and that he get's one more call he is fired and you will not get your money. my best sujestion is to find out from your boss or manager about them calling and see what can be done about it.

Windham Professionals Insults and Harassment

I have been receiving phone calls from this agencies every day even multiple times per day. All communications with this company have been negative. The first person I spoke with actually yelled at me and was telling me that I would not be able to do ANYTHING with my life unless I paid this debt right then and there. First of all, who is to say what I can and cannot do with my life. Second, why would someone act that way, I don't think that kind of behavior is in their job description. Also during this conversation she refused to let me speak to a supervisor for about 5 minutes while she continued to yell at me after I told her that I would be able to pay off the debt in about 2 months while I had someone else handle my finances as I was going to be leaving for the Army. She persisted to say that I would not be able to join any branch of the armed forces if I do not pay her. How is this the case if I already was signed up and on my way out the door? These people threaten the people they call. Very unprofessional. She finally switched me to a supervisor after all of her yelling and me saying about 25 times in a row to please allow me to speak to a supervisor. This person was a bit more helpful and assured me that she would be investigated for her negative behavior. The supervisor then told me what would happen if I did not pay this debt. I told him that I understood and it would be very much appreciated if they would note on my account that I will be paying this bill in the very near future (I said the same thing as to the woman, it would take about 2 months) The supervisor said okay and that they would not be calling again until that time. Since that day i spoke with the supervisor I get calls twice a day or more from this company, and I mean EVERY SINGLE DAY. Every time I speak with them they are rude and disrespectful and of course the do not read the notations on the account that say not to call me. Also there is a note on the account stating that the number that they have been calling is a phone number that does not belong to me and they should not be calling it. It is a phone number for the address at which I live (which they got in some way unknown to me, probably just by looking up the address) I gave them MY phone number but yet they still harass me on a phone number that does not belong to me, which is very irritating to other occupants of the place that I live. I just spoke with these people again today and every time they call I say the same thing "I was told that on my account it says to not call me everyday, and that I will be paying this debt and it also states not to call this number. I also say that at the moment I am not working and I do not have any income (since I am waiting to leave for the Army) so I cannot do anything at this time even though I would like to. Every single time they ask me to have a family member pay this bill or have a friend pay it. That is very disrespectful. Overall I think every person that works for this company should be investigated and they should have someone listen to the recordings of their phone conversations to see how these people actually talk to the people that they call. Regardless if the company is a debt collection agency or if it is another type of business like a charity there should be no difference in the way people are allowed to talk to the people they call. They should all be acting like respectful, intelligent adults instead of little children that have a temper tantrum because they are not getting what they want, when they want it or like school yard bullies that think that insults, harassment and forcefulness will get them what they want.

Wow I don't know if they have gone thru a major overhaul of staff and procedures or if I have just gotten extremely lucky. Pete Boswell is my CR and he has been nothing short of a southern gentleman. During my time with them he has done everything humanly possible to accommodate my needs, all for a payment of $5.00 a month. I just sole my house and was able to pay off my loan with some of the proceeds. They even cut pay amount owed to less than my principle amount for me. My experience with this organization has been nothing but positive.

I am a school teacher and the lady on the phone (Lynda, the supervisor, and Vicky Griffins), threatned me with taking my license away if I do not make payments of $650.00 a month due to my student loan. How in Heavens will I pay that amount? That is very abusive from them. How much do they think a teacher makes monthly?, Do they eat? Do they raise a child? maybe one is a single parent? Maybe you have to pay rent?, maybe you have to full your car with gas 4 times a week just to make sure at least you have a job that provides food on your table and a bed for your child to sleep on? Please I need feedback.
I am willing to pay whatever I can, but I first have to make sure my child have food and shelter over his head.

Windham Professionals Repeated calls

This month a man named Triston keeps calling about every other day. This will be the third and last time that I am calling them back to tell them there is no one named "Juan" at this number. I have been getting these calls now for over 8 months from this company. Each time I call to tell them to stop calling, that they have the wrong number, a new and different person starts to call. How do I report these people to get them to stop the harrasing phone calls? I have had it!

Windham Professionals Unauthorized Debit of $5,000 To My Account

Today, I signed on to my on-line bank account to check my balance and discovered a debit to my account of $5, ooo. This debit was made by Windham Professionals out of New Hampshire, MS. It's true, I do have a unpaid tuition in the amount is $508.00 in which I made arrangements on 9/4/09 to pay $50.00 per month until it's paid off. Needless to say, I was completely shocked and rather pissed off to say the least. I immediately called my bank, BofA, to dispute the charges, (which to me, why BofA would pay a $5, 000 electronic charge made by someone completely foriegn to my account is beyond belief) and was informed that based on this debit being an electronic one, would take up to 10 business days to re-capture my money.

My BofA rep. called the bank out of Mass. and got in touch with a person who knew of Windham Professionals, very well, in fact, and was able to give me the phone number and contact information of this company. I called the number and was put in touch with the very person, Jessica Cowley, who's name was on the transaction on my on-line statement. She immediantly transfered me to Mark Mchale, he has apparently worked for this company for 10 years and actually, was very helpful.

It turns out that Jessica Cowley debited the wrong account, not following their company procedures, and credited the wrong account in the amount of $5, 000 taken directly from my account. So, today is 9/9/09 and based on Mark Mchale's promise, I should be receiving a check in the amount of $5, 000 by 10:30am tomorrow via Fed Ex. This has put a huge burden on me as I now have 8 items that were paid by my bank, each one creating a negative balance, all being charged to me at a fee of $35.00 each, not to mention, my house payment is also out for payment and since my bank account is at a negative balance, it will be returned.

My reason for this complaint is to "vent" and to ask why our government would allow such companies to continue doing business under such "unprofessional" practices for people who are trying to make their lives better and therefore, improve our country's economical standing.

What do you think? I would welcome anyones advice and/or opinion on this company and what one might do to take a stance on securing ones privacy and changing the way re-payment unpaid tuition/defaulted are handeled by this company? (I am since paying off the small balance and vowing to "never" deal with such an "unprofessional" company again, in my life.

Regards,

C.F.

It might interest some of you to know that Windham Professionals has been harassing me with phone calls for the past several days. They are after someone for a $25, 000 student loan who has the same name as me.

Here's the problem. I am not that person. I have never had a student loan in my life. On top of that I am a Canadian and they are calling and harassing me in Canada. They demand my "social" whatever the heck that is. Threats and intimidation and I am not even the person they are looking for.

They call themselves "Professionals"? Professionals at WHAT? Does that include calling up people out of the blue who have nothing to do with their situation just because you have the same name?

When I phone them to try and find out what's going on here, they hang up on me.

Quite a country you have there, America ... the land of the free - free to harass citizens of other countries for no good reason. Free to threaten, harass and intimidate - all in the name of trying to GET MONEY.

I am dealing with this company right now as well. We agreed to do payments. THey were to take out 300 on 11/7, 11/21 and 12/7. They took out 600 on 11/7, when i called she said oh i messed up putting it in the comp and so you can go to your bank and have them fax a paper over. I told them, its not my fault, you screwed it up. I told them not to take any more money out and that i would call in a payment. They still proceeded to take another 300 on 11/21. I called to complain last weekend and they said they would refund the 600 and it would take up to 48 hours - that was 7 days ago. I called tonite to complain again and was told someone else was handling my case and that they werent in so i could leave a message, she also said if i dont hear back by monday (this is friday) that i can call and talk to her supervisor. I asked to talk to one now and she said they were all out of the office. I told her that this is fraud - as they didnt have authorization to take money out anymore. My account is negative and i cant pay any of my other bills right now - she claims she understands but they dont give a ###.

so youre saying a person made a mistake and the company immedaitely made a resolution to fix it, and thats wrong?
i take it you have never made a mistake...besides not paying your debts of course.
if you contact the company they will paythe overdraft charges. pr they can send BofA a letter stating they withdrew the money erroneosly in which case boa should remove the charges anyway.

Windham Professionals Harrassment and false collections

Both of my past education loans(from back in 1995-96) have been completely rehabilitated with Sallie Mae and the Dept of Education and are currently in excellent standing with a positive credit record. These people call me out of nowhere 3 months ago and continue to harass me with threats against me and against my extended family. This has now crossed over into criminal territory. I have no other outstanding loans and these people have continued to try and extort from me time and time again. When I tell them to send me copies of the "so-called" original loan documents that they say is outstanding, they fight and argue with me. They refuse to do so.

I have called the Better Business Bureau and reported them, I have also called an attorney to serve a Cease and Desist order against them. DO NOT ENTERTAIN THEIR PHONE CALLS AND THREATS! Go immediately to the authorities and pay them nothing. Tell them nothing. And, give them NO PERSONAL INFORMATION about yourself, your work, your financials, and your family.

Windham Professionals Student Loans

I've been getting these phone calls from a company called Windham Professionals based out of Salem, NH, regarding student loans. I've been dealing with this person named CHRISTINE DAVIS. Now I know that I do owe some money on loans taken out although I've been out of work now for 3 months and paying them back at this moment is not on top of my list. A couple of weeks back she said she would help me out by enrolling me in a program called the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Consolidation. She explained to me that this program was designed to work with your current income. I explained to CHRISTINE DAVIS that I was currently unemployed and currently looking for a job and that I have no income coming in now. CHRISTINE DAVIS then said she was going to send documentation about this program so I wouldn't have to worry about it for the time being and once I get a steady income coming in again then I can pick up the payments. A week passed and received the paperwork, it all sounded legit I then signed and and mailed it back.
I got a follow up call from CHRISTINE DAVIS about a week and a half later and said she received the paperwork and everything was in place. I said great and we left it at that. A couple of days ago I was out at a job interview and my girlfriend received a phone call from CHRISTINE DAVIS wanting to speak with me. She told her that I was out looking for a job. My girlfriend said that when she told her this she sounded surprised and asked why I was out looking for a job when she was fully aware I'm not working at the time. My girlfriend then hung up the phone on her. Today about 20 mins ago I to another call from CHRISTINE DAVIS. She asked me how my interview went I said good but haven't heard anything back. Her tone changed instantly and said that my account is still sitting here waiting for payment. I then asked her about the consolidation program that she enrolled me in and she said that paperwork never arrived. I was furious. After I took the time to fill out the paperwork and talk to her about it she had the you know whats to tell me that we didn't talk about this. I then proceeded to hang up the phone on her.
This company is a total scam. My advice to anyone dealing with these farm animals is if you get a phone call from them it's not even worth your time and just hang up. I kind of hope CHRISTINE DAVIS calls back soon.

I’ve had my dealings with Windham unprofessionals, I tried working with them at first, but when they don’t have the upper hand of the conversation, they get rude with you. And they will hang up on you. But I did find away to not make any deals with them, I contacted direct student aid to consolidate my school loans that went into default. When they heard I was going to fix my problem without their help, they pushed to have my wages garnished. Don’t let them get the best of you, please call direct student aid1-[protected]; I hope they can help you as they have helped me.

I talked to someone from windham pro about the william d ford program, which does exist but not how they explained it. They wanted me to pay some money over the phone, i told them i would send a money order. Reason being, i do my research before i give out money. First red flag when i looked them up online they are a collection agency which they never mentioned. They said they would take care of my student loan debt through the program and i could go back to school. Then i found this with all these complaints and one just like mine. I never did receive the email with the paperwork they wanted from me, but thats okay because they were never going to get it back and definitley not my money.

Windham Professionals Student Loan Discrepancy

While I acknowledge that I do have a defaulted student loan I need to pay off, this company has been less than helpful in getting that accomplished. They're telling me that I can sign up for the William D Ford Loan Consolidation, which is a good and viable program. But the amount that they're telling me I owe is twice what the NSLDS web site puts my outstanding student loans and interest at. It's taken them 3 attempts to get my consolidation packet sent to me, and I've yet to receive it. Honestly, this is getting ridiculous. They make it practically impossible to get out of debt if you don't have access to a large lump sum of cash. If I had access to the money, I wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.

If everyone would just pay their loans to begin with you would not have to pay a collection agency. Duh.

I can't even think about where to begin on this absolute piece of ### organization. This company is absolute ###. I started paying off my defaulted loans in October of '07. Like everyone, they assured me that if I paid my bill on time every month, it would go back to a normal status in 9 months. 9 months came and went and they kept telling me that TSA (Tennessee Student Assistance) could not find a buyer for their loans and to just hang tight. Well, unbeknownst to me, I found that I had another loan that did not consolidate when I switched schools from the University of Kentucky to a school in Tennessee. It was an admistrative error at UK, but I still should have checked that. So of course, it was in default as well. I gladly paid the OTHER company that had been assigned this loan, they were very fair with the monthly payments and when the 9 months was up, it went STRAIGHT to Direct Loans. Remember, all this time I am paying my loans on time with Windham Professionals. Another 9 months came and went and every time I call in to pay my bill, they give me this bullshyt about TSA loans are not being bought by anyone, it's because of the economy. So I decided to take this into my own hands in January 2009 after over two years of this runaround. I called Direct Loans to see if they were telling me the truth. Of course, they were lying out of their dumb, redneck ###. My loan was consolidated almost immediately (about 30 days) and the lady I worked with at Direct Loans told me that ### like this will tell you anything to keep the money coming their way. I didn't pay them last month and they are blowing my phone up. It is now officially in the hands of Direct Loans and has been consolidated so there isn't anything they can do about it. Never been more relieved in my life. If not for anything else, but the fact that I never have to talk to one of these pond ###, inbred ### hicks for the rest of my life. If you work at this place, always remember it is because you are a bottom feeding ### who can't get a real job anywhere else. You're life sucks and always will. Choke on an AIDS soaked member and die, you pieces of ###.

These people are pieces of ###-half of the stuff they say to you, they would never say in person, because we all know what would happen. The hide behind a phone, in a cubicle. They WANT to upset you. What don't they understand about DON'T CALL ME AT WORK? then call back 5 hours later...against the law...Im currently paying back $400+ a month in student loans. They want more from me, which, I don't have.

I also agree with the comment about what the NSLDS website shows for my outstanding debts, and what they are trying to collect is nearly $10K more from me. ITS A SCAM. I'm currently in the process of reporting them to the Massachusetts Attny General.

And FYI-current financial problems with our country stem from all sorts of defaulted loans. How about the millions of people who bought homes they cannot afford? How about the millions of people who use credit cards and don't pay them back?

Finally, I DOUBT you need to be educated to work at Windham Professionals.

Honestly people stop complaing and pay your student loans... You could have deffered your student loans before they went into default... we are only doing our jobs... I work for windham and i have never been rude to a debtor... we are not a consolidation company we do offer then for people who really can't afford the monthly payments ... And we can't be doing anything illegal if we are getting new bussiness... so stop the complaining and own up to the fact you owe money and pay it

Windham Professionals are extremely rude people. I too have a defaulted student loan and they started calling and harrassing me at work. I kept telling them to call me on my personal phone because I work at a Spa and personal phone calls are not permitted (I could lose my job) but they still kept calling me at work. I set up a monthly payment plan with them which was way too high for me. I don't have that kind of money to pay ( i thought they were freaken a dept consolidation place wtf) Anyways I tried calling them to let them know that I couldn't afford the monthly payment and a girl name KEIRA/KEIROMI/MICHELLE (I think their the same person but insisted their not) was so rude and mean to me. I told her I'm having a hard time right now since my husband just lost his job and she told me she couldnt lower my monthly payments. I told her my family would starve and said she didnt care as long as they get their monthly payment from me. Can you believe her what a ###! Also if you just read INBOUND COLLECTOR'S comment she said she works there of course she does she's SUPER RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS just like the rest of the windham prof. staff!

I happen to work with a company that uses Windham Professionals and guess what? Default fees can be up to 25% of your original loan balance and that will not show up on NSLDS. Because of people like you scamming the system and borrowing money that you will never pay back, this country's debt problem is worse and the economy gets worse, and because of your idiotic, stupid mistake the country is now in dire trouble.

They will garnish wages. It is not their place to send you the DOE consolidation application. GET IT FROM THE DOE WEBSITE. Obviously you have internet access.

Maybe you should get a refund on the money the original company loaned you because you are obviously TOO STUPID to have earned any sort of degree.

Windham Professionals Constant Calls & Harrassment

I am a 60+ woman who rents an apartment in Emmaus, PA. About a year ago, a representative from Wyndam Pros began calling me regarding Richard Lyons, a man I do not know. Wyndam would leave messages on my home answering machine. I never listened to the entire message as instructed since I was not Richard Lyons. I finally decided to pick up the phone last week when the representative called so I could let her know I do not know Richard Lyons and to please stop calling. The rep stated that she had a right to call me because she received my number from a Government agency. I became irritated and abruptly stated again that I did not know the man and hung up. The rep called back and left a message on my answering machine stating that I was immature and she would be calling me every night, which she has. The phone company told me I should just change my number. What a hassle that would be. I've always paid my bills on time and consider myself a good citizen. Why do I need to go through this trouble for someone I don't even know? How do I get them to stop?

In regards to Inbound Collector: This is why people complain about your "services". You are the same way on this message board that you are on the phone with people. You should not be insulting anyone. Tell me have you ever gone to college? Do you have a degree? Highly unlikely since you sit at a phone all day and harass people. I have dealt with numerous employees from this company and every single one of them think that it is okay to harass, insult and pester people at their homes on a daily basis and a lot of times it is multiple times per day. Also I have told these employees that the number they are calling does not belong to me and they should not call it anymore yet they still do. They will even call at 9 pm and I will say that it is too late to be calling and their response is "You called us!" which is because I had to call them in order to speak to someone because they use automated messages to call people and ask the person to call back to a certain number and then the message hangs up. This company should not be in business or they should hire people that are not crude people that think that they are better than everyone else. I am sure a lot of the people working at collection agencies have had or still have debt of some sort but yet they chastise people for having debt and continue to harass and insult these individuals even to the point of constantly asking the person if there is a family member or someone they know that can pay the debt. That in my opinion is extremely rude. Also just because someone has debt does not mean they are stupid. Even if you go to college that does not mean you will be able to get a job that will support you and your family if you have a family. Which in turn means that if you can't get a job straight after school you cannot pay your debts/bills. Everyone is going through this. Most Americans have had to put certain bills on the "back-burner" to take care of things like rent/mortgages, food, electricity, water. It is just the way this country is right now. Also the country's debt issues have more to do with people that get loans for houses that they know they can't afford but want it anyway, it is the same thing with car loans. People want things that they know they cannot afford even if they have a good paying job, it is like a status symbol to have a very nice car or a big house. That is what is ruining the economy. not to mention the war is making this country enter into financial shambles.

They are the most AWFUL collectors I have ever experienced in my ENTIRE LIFE. I have argued with them on several occassions. They are ALWAYS rude and UNPROFESSIONAL. The first time I had to call, the operator told me and I quote: "We can't do anything for you.. that's just too bad".. Then I had a representative call me later on in the day to set up arrangements. They do not document any of the payments set up, ALTHOUGH THEY ARE RECORDED! I had to set up a payments twice (since they couldn't find my original payment), as a result they ended up overdrawing my bank account by multiple payments... When I alerted them of this, they told me I needed to print off a bank statement and fax it to them. Shouldn't my payments be on file?! And I have to wait until the manager is available to have this double payment reversed. They SUCK! And I also feel sorry for anyone else who has to deal with the incompetents working with this godawful company!

Windham Professionals Awful customer service

This company employs a very rude lady. I don't know her name but she is an account rep. I called to make payments on a Perkins that went into collections and her attitude was reckless. Not only was she rude but the company had the nerve to charge me a 960 dollar collection fee for a 1700 dollar loan. That is over 50% of the loan not including the interest. Anyway I called to make arrangement a but the lady told me not to waste her time with any arrangement and to pay the balance now. Then when I told her I could not do that she threatened to take me to court. I think that their collection cost is ridiculous and something should be done about that company and that B**ch.

I've been getting this rude [censor] as well.
Only difference is that I do NOT have a Sallie Mae loan. They keep calling me in search for someone else. I have continuously told them there is no one by that name living here and until here recently I finally had enough of them harassing me that I've warned them with a lawsuit. Hopefully that will get them to stop calling me, but I warn everyone that I know to NEVER go with Sallie Mae! Especially if they keep treating people this way that don't even have a Sallie Mae account.
These are some rude people who continuously keep calling you. So if someone goes through Sallie Mae and gives a fake number to them, then be hopeful that the fake number wasn't you because these people will still continuously call you even though you keep telling them that you are not that person!

I agree with the person who stated that you are not the customer. The customer is the client of the agency trying to collect the money you owe. Because people do not pay these companies, they are forced to pursue them by hiring seperate collection companies. If people paid their bills they wouldn't get calls and there wouldn't be any debt collectors. I'm sorry this person was rude to you but we are not all like that. We provide a service to the hospitals and schools that you trust to care for your needs, and if these companies do not receive their money the quality of their service, the customer service for which you are the actual customer, goes down. Bills and debts do not just go poof and disappear because people say they can't afford to pay them. Just look at the government and the state of the economy. Someone has to pay to keep the world running.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT COLLECTION AGENCIES DON'T ADD ON THE COLLECTION COSTS THE SCHOOL DOES THEY NEED TO GET THAT TROUGH THEY'RE HEAD AND ALL LOANS THAT HAVE A PROMISARRY NOTE ALL SAY IF PAYMENT NOT RECIEVED THE BORROWER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COSTS AND PENALTIES APPLIED ON ACCOUNT THIS IS YOUR OWN FAULT FOR NOT PAYING YOUR FEDERAL DEBT THIS ALL COULD BE AVOIDED IF PEOPLE KEPT THERE WORD AND PAYED WHAT THEY OWED

While i am concerned that anyone would act like that to you, i am not surprised that you got bad "costomer service", mostly because you are not windham's customer the lender(perkins) is and they don't have to cater to your needs. Conversley you can catch more flies with honey, so i am not sure why collectors act like this. you should request your original promissory notes and see if you signed for collections fees to be added to your balance( probably, with most education loans, and medical bills) my advice is ask to speak with her supervisor or someone else in her department, if she says no, advise her that you will not communicate under duress hang up, call back and listen to the options before you put in your extension and look for an operator, then ask for a manager, supervisor, director, etc. when you speak to them refrain from complaning repeatedly about the collector as these folks work together and might be friends, advise them you wish to make arrangements but will not speak to her, that should get her out of the picture, just remember doing whatever they can to get you to pay is good customer service for them their customer is the lender, however the two can be the same, your personality and hers probably don't match. Seriously these type of collection agencies wield alot of power, most of their clients are state departments of education, and that goes to the heads of these bill collectors

Windham Professionals say I owe them money that have already been paid by IRS

Windham professionals has call many times after I already paid all of my loans by withheld taxes from the dept. of Fl. Educ. They still continue to call after I have paid the balance. Isn't this against the law? They say I still owe them? I have paid my student loan off twice over I am sure. The lady said they IRS will never pay it in full, "thats how they get more money from you". She even ask why I had the money to pay for my son's glasses before I paid off my bill. Give me a break. What can I do about this? Can they garnish my wages like they say, If I do not owe?

They can, and they might be legit with this, tax offset(sezuire of taxes) is filled in august, between then and when you file there is still interest building up, leaving the difference when you pay, of the interest accrued between their filling and tax season. my best advice is to consolidate or get your loan away from this lender and their jackals.

This company has been calling me non stop for a few yrs now, claiming that I had a student loan that was in collections that I never paid. I was young, stupid, and just got out of college and I didnt know any better. So, I started making small payments here and there regarding it. The only statement theyve ever sent me is one that is from their letterhead...

Windham Professionals Student Loan

Hello- I received a call from someone at Wyndam Professionals regarding my college loan in default. I was told I had a garnishment on her desk, etc. She would not let me speak- she kept telling me details, etc.etc.
She also contacted my friend when she clearly had my phone number.
please let me knw if this is a scam. I am not paying anyone I do not know or verify is a true company . My school Univ. of Florida never told me there would be an added 7, 000 added to my loan for interest. I take care of an ill parent and there is no way I can pay what this lady claims.
