overcharge fee
I had charges on my bank.k account. Some I had no idea they would be there and an ATM issue that took money of account but only gave me 40 if the 200 I tried to getout. I had a 99 cent charge where I added storage on my phone. I thought would be put on the bill. Ofcourse itwent to the bank. 99. Sent fee turned into a 30 dollar fee. I've. Been a faithful customer. The Winchester Kentucky. Branch told me to get on here and get a code and they would waive one fee. Trying it. Praying it works. But doubt it.

poor service
Woodforestbank has the worst management every I was employed there for 7years and never in my life have I encountered poor management. The management at Woodforest national bank is a joke I have been mistreated and talked about. This job is all about self and I will never look back the manage talks to you as if your their child when your sick she refuses to allow you to use your sick time she also is lazy she never does her job the retail bankers do the turn over rate for this company is higher than any bank I have ever seen and the management is the reason for it .
bank account compromised and police said this keeps happening at woodforest
I get paid on odd days the 10th and 25th. As soon as my direct deposit went in on the 9th of June there were 6 debits (bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum) relieving me of my entire Pacheco. I called the police department and was told that they have had several complaints on Woodforest Bank of the same nature. I called to speak with the fraud department and was told that they would not be able to issue any credits until after they had "researched" whether it was fraud even though it is clear by looking at the quick rapid fire withdrawals it was someone's intent to clean me out. I asked for a Supervisor to find out why my account would not be immediately credited and was told they had not "experienced a loss" and would therefore not be involved in crediting my account in spite of the fact that it is obvious theft. When I advised them that the police Detective and several other individuals I spoke with mentioned the same thing happening I got dead silence. Not only did Woodforest Bank allow this fraud and theft to occur but once advised of it refused to do anything to assist me in prosecuting whomever did this and refused to credit my account until the "research is complete". My entire check is gone and I do not get paid for another 15 days. $2400 was stolen with debits that this bank refused to stop once I called them. They kept quoting bank law and saying they had up to 60 days to resolve the dispute. This isn't a dispute this is THEFT and by all accounts is within their organization.

online bank account compromised
I spoke with, michael heil, and larry stewart, of branch (573) , and social security from thewestside office was trying 4/23/2015, on the phone to warn the bank that judy ann poston's direct deposit will be coming on her account ending in:2966, to no avail no one answered the phones, her account was compromised, on or before april 4, 2015, and her bills are behind 2 or 3 months behind and woodforest national bank needs to reprimand her her money for her bills and for her fraud protection rights

suspended overdraft privileges cause I filed a complaint
I filed a complaint to BBB on the Wood Forest National Bank here in Andalusia after they sent an Item back and they always call me to see if I want them to pay for an Item or send it back been with this bank since 2012 and they did not call my cell phone as they usually do and sent the Item back. Well I filed a complaint against them so they legal...

In over 30 years of dealing with service companies as a Family Physician, , Woodforest National Bank is the most horrible, deceptive and lying company I have ever dealt with. Once they sell you on their credit card service, you can not talk to a service rep. They added on a check reading service that we did not want...EZcheck...and then I continued to get bills despite complaints and calls to EZcheck and Woodforest National Bank. Both said the other had to cancel. After months of leaving messages with customer service and being told someone would call back and never hearing from anyone I am ready to boil over. After weeks of calls and message...I was told that the contract was for 3 years and there is a 495.dollar early cancellation fee...This was not in the original written and signed contract but in small print sent afterwards and nothing I ever signed.
DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY LIE, CHEAT, AND CAN NOT BE TRUSTED.
SOMEONE IN TEXAS SHOULD TAKE THEM OUT.
SIGN NOTHING WITH WOODFOREST NATIONAL BANK. IT WAS THE WORST THING I EVER DID.
LET THEM KNOW I SAID SO.

wrongful termination
I worked for Woodforest for over 6 years and was a Branch Manager for them for 2 years. My branch consistently performed among the best in the country and I was repeatedly recognized for my performance. A much younger female co-worker made a sexual harassment complaint against me in 2012. She then recanted her complaint. She went so far as to tell HR she would quit if they did anything to me over her complaint. I was then told by my superiors that I not only HAD to keep working with this individual (which made me incredibly uncomfortable), but that my future job performance would be based on how I was able to move past the incident and get along with the individual. Things went well (although the situation made it incredibly difficult for me to do my job) until she decided she no longer liked working with me. Almost a year exactly after she filed the first complaint, she filed a second. Woodforest immediately removed me from my branch and would not let me communicate with any of my co-workers. This is before even telling me why. She was then allowed to bad mouth me and spread lies to the people I worked with at the branch, as well as customers, for A MONTH before any action was taken. I was interviewed once over the phone regarding the incident. I was then fired, over the phone, without ever being told exactly what evidence they used to determine I was in the wrong. The girl was then promoted within a month of my termination. A shameful betrayal by a company I had poured my heart into for over 6 years. If you're looking for a position in the financial industry... you definitely want to look elsewhere.

human resources
The work environment is hostile and unprofessional. Some of the employees sold fee refunds, had sexual relationships with customers that they help, and stole from the bank. It amazes me that management did nothing about it and they have favorites. It is pointless to call HR because they are located in Texas and are aware of some things that happened and...

I have a checking account with Woodforest National Bank up at the local Wal Mart store, and I have a substantial amount of money in this account. My problem is that I work from home out of my home office and I do a lot of my transactions late in the evening or early morning. That is not bragging, it is just the truth about how I make my money. This is compounded by the fact that every time I try to check my account online I get some message that says Woodforest Online Banking is not available due to maintenance in progress, please try again later! Well I CAN'T TRY AGAIN LATER, I need to know NOW! So, I figure I can call their so called "24 hour automated account information" telephone line. Again, I am disappointed because the line is always busy or returns an error message on my phone that it is an invalid number, or it actually answers, but when given a list of choices to pick and you click the one you need it immediately hangs up on you! As you can see from the attached image file, the online banking page instructs you to call the automated number... Gee thanks Woodforest, that sinches it, tomorrow I am going down there and taking all of my money out of this keystone cops bank and finding a REAL bank to deal with!

Here we go again...
Woodforest has been down all night.
All of their websites are down, (attached) and none of their so called "support" numbers are working.

profiting off a crime
I joined this bank because it was easy to get to and had great hours. I admit my branch is pretty nice. We know everyone by name and they are great people BUT we also live in a VERY small town so any bank would probably be that way. But recently some charges popped up on my card Woodforest refused to do anything to help me figure it out. The lady just told me I could protest it but there would be no promise I would get my money back and even if I did it would take 120 days. That was my rent money so I could not accept that. I did my own leg work and found out the charges came from a website so I called the site and they explained someone had listed a car on their website for sale. I explained I did not even own a car like that (though I wish I did since it was a high end car) and the website issued me a refund and flagged the account who used my card. When I called Woodforest back to let them know it had been handled and I need my card canceled and a new one issued the woman had the nerve to tell me I had to pay to get a new card! I am a victim of a crime here and they don't care and just want to profit from it! I mean come on! At least most banks give you one free replacement card a year especially if you were STOLEN FROM. To say the least I will be going in and yanking the rest of my money out and shutting down that account. Totally heartless and in bad taste to try and profit from a crime! How dare you Woodforest!

ridiculous inconvenience
I do business with a specific firm located in the Phillipine Islands, and have made transactions with this company on almost a bi-monthly to quarterly basis. Each time I have made this transaction, my debit card has been turned off for suspected fraud. But did Woodforest contact me? No, I only found out after I tried to make another transaction as in putting gas in my car. Nobody likes to be the person in line who's card is declined AFTER purchasing gas. So today, I again made said transaction in the Phillipines, however this time I called Woodforest first to ensure my card was not deactivated. They assured me there was no block on the Phillipines, and I was good to go. Ten minutes later, after the transaction, my card was deactivated AGAIN for suspected fraud. I do understand the safety precaution, and the first time this event happened I appreciated that Woodforest would look out for my safety. However, now it has become a ridiculous inconvenience, and I will likely switch banks.
Talked with customer service...this situation was handled professionally and courteously. Much appreciated. Thank you Woodforest.
inaccurate withdrawal amount
I had a savings account with wood forest bank. I requested a withdrawal of $6, 300. When I got home and counted the money, I realized I only had $6, 100. They shorted me $200. I called the next day and was told their drawers and vault "balanced" out. If that is the case, the person that waited on my walked off with $200. There is nothing I can do about it. The manager did say that there was a video of the transaction, but as fast as the person counted the money, i'm not sure a video will catch the problem. Over $2, 000 was in twenty's because they did not have enough hundreds for the transaction. My advice is to stay away from this bank. They are unethical and hire untrained employees.

Why do you both have to be so negative and mean? Maybe you have NEVER done a wrong thing or a mis-step in your life, but I strongly doubt that. This website is supposed to be about helping each other. Not a personal chalk board in which to tear down anyone you can. Maybe you are both PERFECT or at least you are in your own mind. Well, I am not perfect and I am honest enough to admit that to the whole world. I was hoping to get a solution to this and I did. Customer Service called us and they are working on it.
Ellen67 and Eflkin
An update. We spoke to Woodforest Customer Service yesterday. They are doing everything possible. Two things Ellen 67, we never opened the envelopes that had the money in them, and counted the money ten ways to Sunday. The teller at Woodforest wrote 4 on one envelope and 2-3 on the other. They are going to do a complete vault audit this week. Maybe we will prevail, but if not, we will have to 'eat' the loss and learn from our mistake.

You need to get a life. Considering I am 65 I guess I am not new to life just this dang website. Maybe you will suggest they just take me out back and shoot me to make room for people like you.
Look OLISBOS
I am very new to this and I am not stupid and I CAN read. You don't have to get nasty about it.
Yes I did something stupid but I am trying to fix it.
How do I do that? I don't see a phone number for Customer Service for this web site
I tried to do that. But the teller that was doing the transaction did not have the authority to complete the transaction. She made several phone calls and was finally told to "just give the customer the money" and that "the computer work" would be done the next day. I desperately tried to count the money at their counter, but they had a line backed up and I was very aware of the time I had already been at the teller's window. I had never had this happen before at ANY bank, so I did not expect it to happen this time either. When I got home and realized what had happened, they were already closed for the day. When we called the next day, the teller that had handled the transaction was "off" for the day. Hindsight is 20/20.
That Damm bank is stupid dont open a checking account with them thwy will cahrge all kinds of stupid fees and take your money.. i am in dept because they took 553.00 from me and my children. they had my account wired to another persons account and we was sharing money the fixed the proble but still charged me all tyed of fees ### THEM A BADBAD BAD BANK

I also did withdrawal with ATM, shorted $20 I called and was told same thing, ATM balanced

if I seemed "mean" in my response, it was not intended. I was basically saying that it seems like common sense that you should've counted it before leaving.
I will mention though, that in your original post you called the bank "unethical", accused them of shorting you $200, called them untrained, basically called the teller a thief and insinuated they walked off with your cash, etc etc. Lets remember they are going out of their way trying to fix the situation for you, all while you, just a few posts back, were calling them thieves and accusing them of stealing your money.
personally, with a withdrawal as large as that, I wouldn't have left the building without counting it first.
@Lin Holli...You just posted you personal phone number on a public website for the entire world to see...
I always encourage my customers to double count their cash directly in front of me, before even leaving the teller window. Forget trying to watch hands are keep track in your head. I've even had some apologize if I'm offended that they don't trust me. "It's not a matter of trust." I say. "It's a matter of protecting both of us and ensuring accuracy."
I think there was an error here, pretty sure this complaint should read:
Bad check won't cash at bank
closed account, took my money because of no returned phone call
I'm a 20 yr. Old female who recently opened account with woodforest national bank inside my local walmart store which is located off of hwy 321 in granite falls, nc 28630.
I've deposited several times in person and use this account to pay on my credit card. Just today I received an email that stated I was over drawn $5 and some odd cents. It read: service charge - $5.95 then I saw check: $41.83. I've never used any of the checks they gave me, only my debit card or transferring funds to pay my credit card. So I got online to look at my account and there it was; a check, none of mine but a check for everything I had left as of yesterday and at the top in small, horrible, barely readable print it stated: close account, no verified residence, no returned phone calls (Something along those lines) I can't get in touch with them now because it's the weekend but i've been in several times to deposit money and nothing has ever been mentioned to me about this. I am pissed and better get my money back!
Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? I mean wt?

post date check
I wrote a post dated check because I did not have any money until the second and two days later I looked at my statement and they had allowed the company to cash the check a week before the date. I asked them about it and they said the date meant nothing and that when they get the check they could cash it. I had NEVER heard OF Such A Thing.

liars
I recently applied for a job over the internet with Woodforest National Bank. I received an email stating that the company wanted to do an over the phone interview. I contacted the company and completed a phone interview and was told that someone would contact me if the company was interested. Literally, a few minutes later I was contacted for a face to...
Read full review of Woodforest National Bankthey take your money
This bank is notoriously known for taking clients money. They have taken over half of my paycheckS and this last time not only did they take my entire paycheck but they put me back in overdraft. Because of this bank and their business I was evicted from my home of 8 1/2 years, my baby was put out of daycare, my car almost got repossessed, I had no money for food to feed my 3 kids and I. They put me in a financial disaster. The lady at my son's FORMER daycare stated that Woodforest did the same thing to her. Its pretty bad when people ask you who do you bank with and you say Woodforest and you always get some sort of negative response. I have NEVER heard anyone say anything nice about Woodforest! They didn't even bother to notify me of the problems I was having with the account. They made an error on my account and refuse to take responsibility for it and try to help resolve it. I now refuse to put anymore money in their bank. Also there is an employee in the Savoy office Ken who is VERY rude and hateful. Who wants to bank with someone who is nasty to you?! I recommend for people who are considering doing business with Woodforest National Bank to RUN RUN RUN away from there and find another bank to do business with, unless you want to give away your hard-earned money.
They also encouraged me use the online banking but then the other branch told me that the online banking is some hours behind and not accurate for account balances and etc. After they returned my rent check and I went down there to find out why in the midst of it the bank tellers told me theirselves that they discourage you to write a CHECK fosomething important like rent and its better to get a money order! So basically your own employees discourage you from writing checks! Then I just caught them in another lie because my mom called them to stop payment on a check and they told me that they couldn't do that and I should have called the company to stop the check and/or transactions but they told my mom that she could call the branch and they could stop hers! The one lady at my job said she was .02 cents over and they charged her $34.00! While they kept returning and running checks that were returned, I got no notification of it until 2 weeks later via mail! Instead they just took my entire paycheck and put me in -$466 in overdraft. When you call the branches you get an answering message that promises to return the call within 2 business hours and I MIGHT gey a callback a few days later but usually not. Enough info?
Of course someone with common sense would initially call or contact them when the problems arose. I would never just come on here and complain if they would have looked into the matter instead of passing it off on the other company, I called the branch manager and she threw it on something else. I went to another branch in person and that's when three of the employees looked at it and kept throwing excuses up then when they pulled up the transaction and actually saw the error the woman couldn't say anything but Hmmm...I Don't know. And just walked away! Why should I call them just to hear that it wasn't their fault and this is because of this but this was unfortunately explained to you wrong or done the other way and blah blah blah! Bottom line is I TRIED AND I GOT NOWHERE! Done wasting time on Woodforest! I lost a lot because of them in less than a year!
That's your opinion and you obviously didn't read or pay attention to my complaint! I Have called them multiple times to try to resolve my issue and all they did was make excuses. One woman walked away because she couldn't make up anymore excuses for the error even after she saw they were at fault! Her response was HMmmm...I don't know! So get your facts straight before you want to make a negative comment on me!
Unless you will be replacing some of the money I've lost due to your bank, I would prefer not to communicate with Woodforest. I have heard enough bogus explanations and arguments from your financial institution.
WOW, its obvious its not the bank that's the problem. They offer to help and that person refuses even to call them. I have banked with Woodforest for years and I have only had a problem once. The best part is, I contacted them ... and they RESOLVED my issue to my satisfaction. It is amazing what happens when you CALL someone.
theft of deposit
I cant walk easily right now, and Woodforest Bank is located right in the middle of the Super Wal- Mart., . I arrived at the counter with cash to deposit, It was less than $200, but I clearly recall handing the stack of 20s to the teller ..I couldnt believe a week later that I saw no sign of the deposit online ..It has caused me great trouble paying 3 bills (We had a home emergency here last month withj broken air conditioning, plus I had just gotten out of the hospital after serious burns.)I MAY have accidentally left my receipt on the counter, because when you are in the riding cart, it is often hard to see over the counter. I went back to the bank and asked them to go thru the receipts from that day I was in, hardly a week earlier, she claimed she did but said there was no sign of it.. After reading the complaints against Woodforest and the precarious current position of that bank, it is my hypothesis that that cash was taken and the deposit ticket nullified. When you cant trust your bank, its time to make a change..I intend to at the end of the month..

Honestly she is supposed to tell you that. I have to agree with you on that. But at the same time, she should have sent you away with disclosures. Its clearly stated there. Even if she did not tell you anything, you are still obligated to read your terms and conditions. Dont you want to know what you are signing up for?
theft/fraud
This bank is as shady as they come! Not only do they charge outrageous fees, but they don't provide enough information when you get your e-statements to see what some of the transactions were for. When you email them to find out more information about the transaction, they charge you $2.00. It is a vicious cycle with this bank. But the kicker is... I bank in san antonio at the woodforest branch in wal-mart on se loop 410 and rigsby—and the manager took $50 out of my account without giving me any kind of notice. I pulled up the trasaction record for may 5, 2009—and the scanned copy of the debit was signed by the manager and the memo for the transaction only stated "xfer to proper account". This led me to believe that they had accidentally made a deposit that was supposed to be for another customer into my account. I pulled up my transaction history, and no $50 deposit was ever placed into my account by the bank. They stole $50 from me. When I went to the branch in person to get more information about the transaction (On several occasions) the manager was always "unavailable". I went to a different branch to see if anyone there could help me, and one of the other branch managers told me "very secretively" that it looks like the manager "improperly took the funds". I asked her to please conduct an inquiry into the transaction to help me get the $50 deposited back into my account, and she said she would "take care of it. " after 4 weeks of waiting and not seeing my money, I went back to the manager who said she would help me (At the wal-mart branch on jones-maltsberger in san antonio) and she acted like she had never spoken with me. She pretended to not know anything about my situation. These people are very, very shady. The customer service is awful. When you go into a branch to make a straight cash deposit, they treat you like you have to "qualify" just to put your cash in your bank. A straight deposit should never take 5 minutes. They are pulling up screen after screen, scratching their heads like they've never seen a straight cash deposit for $500. Needless to say, i've closed my account and now bank with wells fargo. I banked at woodforest national bank because it was close to my house, and I shop at wal-mart at least once a week. I thought it would be convenient, but did not realize I would be stolen from. I never did get my money back. Avoid these deceptive people at all cost.

they are associated with one of the scummiest companies on earth (Walmart), so what do you expect.
I was one of the first to sign with Woodforest Bank in my town of Summersville, WV. Wonderful people. Never had a problem. At least until yesterday. I needed help from customer service. I couldn't understand the person on the other end of the "Boomba Cloy Rass Kleet Phone Mon".
I am a devout supporter of the United States and providing jobs to US citizens, not outsourcing to foreign countries.
I'm done with Woodforest Bank, Especially after the friendly branch manager insisted that they don't outsource to foreign countries. We have a small local bank that I think I will go to tomorrow.
Woodforest routes their calls first to a Jamican call center (main call center in the slums of Jamica run by a third party)then if they are no help to the customer transfer it to the US call center ( run with a skeleton crew). They also outsource their billpayments which is why they cannot guarantee if it will be sent electronic or check. These are just two of the weak points they have were customer info could be compromised.
I also banked at Woodforest in San Antonio at the Wal-Mart @ De Zavala. The service was horrible and fees for everything. My account was victim to id theft and after asking them to close the account they refused. The fees just kept piling up... Never again. Thanks Chase!
retail credit card services
I signed up with merchant credit card services when we first opened in may of 2008. I have never had a retail business so I was depending on the honesty of the sales rep representing this company. I am a seasonal business and only open for 5 months and closed the other 7 months. I tried to call and see if I could shut the service down the months my business wasn't open and was told I was in a three year contract and couldn't turn off service. I was never told nor was it in any of my paperwork that I was in 3 year contract. I didn't receive statements half of the time and had to call to get them. I tried to cancel the service today and was told I still couldn't because of my contract. I told them I never signed a contract for 3 years and they told me I was informed in statements of changes to my contract. If you don't receive statements, how can one know of changes and is this legal to change in the middle of a contract? I am paying $22.95 per month service fee when closed and not uses the services. I hate dealing with this company. They were very slow putting the money in my account too. Sales from friday, sat and sunday weren't put in my account until tuesday. Don't use merchant credit card services thru woodforest national bank.
Mercant Card Services was once known as Delta Card Services but changed their name because of a lawsuit from Gucci. Delta Card Services was opening accounts with buisnesses that supplied fake info to sell counterfit gucci products. The name changed but the people are the same.
customer service
As I was standing in line waiting to be served, a customer service rep told another client who was leaning over the wall while in line, that she didn't have a cash drawer and could go as slow as she wanted while she was waiting on ANOTHER customer.I did not hear the guy who was asking her a question. What she said was said loud enough to be heard by other customers waiting in line! After my business was done I pointed out to assistant manager that her employee should be retrained for making such a comment to another customer. She then came from around out of her booth to tell me it was none of my business! Actually she was very loud to me and others could hear her very well by this point.Because she sure made it my business when she allowed other customers to over hear her comments! I was then asked to leave. Her name is Tasha. Not to bright of a female to make such comments 'while on the job'.
Okay ... i called that bank with no response. how many times should i have to call them with no response back from them?I sent email, sent back undeliverable. This bank now has 2 p.o.a. on file and still they will not contact ME.I can understand why people has a hard time with this bank.they really have poor service.Meanwhile my daughter AND grand daughters are suffering needing their monies.
@ SUNDAYTIMES...
I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK AS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD GROCERY THEY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK AND A FRIENDS GROCERY IN ANOTHER TOWN. I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE FOR THAT IS WHERE MY DAUGHTER HAS HER ACCOUNT AND SHE HAS BEEN INCARCERATED AND WANTS ME TO SEND HER SOME MONIES. THIS IS THE TROUBLE I HAVE BEEN GETTING FROM THIS BANK. HIGHLY DISRESPECTFUL HANDLING BUSINESS AS I HAVE READ FROM OTHER AS WELL AS FOR MYSELF.
I CALLED THE NUMBER AND SURPRISE !
THE REGIONAL MANGER WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND APPARENTLY STILL NOT FOR I STILL HAVE NOT HAD A RETURN PHONE CALL! AND I LEFT MY NUMBER 5 DAYS AGO! THE PERSON WHOM I SPOKE WITH SEEMED TO BE A REAL LIVE WIRE FOR HE COULD NOT TELL ME ANYTHING AND SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN STUMBLING OVER HIS WORDS.
At Woodforest, we take every concern seriously and make every effort to resolve issues promptly. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you regarding your experience. Please contact our Customer Care department at [protected] and ask to speak directly with the Regional Vice President over the branch. We look forward to speaking with you soon.
I SEE THIS AT EVERY POSTING WHAT IS WITH THIS BANK AND WHY ARE THEY STILL ALLOWED TO OPERATE!? THEY REALLY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED!
