Terrible Experience with AAA Insurance
I was involved in an accident that wasn’t my fault, and the person who hit me has AAA insurance. AAA didn’t reach out to me for over a week, and I had to call them myself—while on vacation—to even start the process. Initially, they told me I couldn’t keep my car at my preferred shop, but once I pushed back, they suddenly changed their stance and allowed it. This deceptive tactic was frustrating.
To make matters worse, they lowballed me on the value of my totaled car, despite the fact that I have receipts for every bolt and all the maintenance done. They were unprofessional in response to my fair valuation. Then they yanked my rental car, leaving me without transportation to work.
I feel like nothing more than a number to them. Even if I had accepted their offer, how could I buy a car on a weekday with a full-time job? I couldn’t even have the rental until the weekend to make arrangements. I didn’t ask to be in this situation, but now I’m left scrambling, trying to figure out how to provide for my family and do basic things like get groceries.
Recommendation: Be prepared to be treated like a number
On October 31st I need a tow from Providence to Worcester, I called AAA, I told them the car was in a parking garage, 3 hours later a flatbed
On October 31st I need a tow from Providence to Worcester, I called AAA, I told them the car was in a parking garage, 3 hours later a flatbed showed up, the driver was not able to tow it from the garage, he called AAA and explained a flatbed should not have been dispatched since it was in a garage. I waited another 3hours and 20 minutes before I called to see where the tow truck was, after an hour on the phone being put on hold the representative came back and and said I dont know what to tell you he got a supervisor on the phone and she told me they couldnt find anyone to do the tow..wouldve been nice if someone reached out and told me this. I had to *** tow companies to find one that could do the job and pay $550.00 out of pocket. I submitted the paperwork for reimbursement, Ive done everything theyve asked for, called the complaint department and just keep getting, Im sorry for your frustration, 16 days later Im still waiting for my reimbursement and cant get answers as to why except short staffed, not acceptable.
Waiting 4 hours for a tow. Still not here. This is the biggest rip off and scam going.
We were left in an empty parking lot over two hours told someone was coming. Two hours later we were told no one was coming. It was after midnight and they told us to call someone and then submit our expense for reimbursement. This was outrageous, dangerous, and infuriating! We have paid for AAA for years, never used the service, will cancel n the morning.
I called AAA when my vehicle wouldn't start and I was stranded in a parking lot. I was told it would be 2 hours. After 2 hours passed I was told it would be another few hours. After 3 hours I was told that there was no one to tow me. They did not care that I was in a dark parking lot. 2 weeks later I call to get another vehicle towed and after a few hours was told they are not towing vehicles long distances anymore that day. And to call back the next day. It was only 4:30 pm when they told me this. What am I paying a membership fee for? I have been with them for 23 years. Obviously that means nothing to them.
We had AAA roadside assistance and last night 5p.m. we broke down and called them. Was told tow truck on way. Long story short they never showed even with over 20 calls. Still no call backs and no show. What am I paying for? They are basically stealing customers money.
I requested a tow truck for my car because it broke down
I requested a tow truck for my car because it broke down. I was waiting and waiting for it to show up. After a couple hours no tow truck yet so I called AAA back to see what was going on. They said that they were backed up with calls. I told them I had people parked in and they couldn't get out! The next time I called was 3 hours after the initial call and they told me that they were still backed up with there calls. Now come on you can't tell me there isn't more than one AAA towing service in a big city like ***. After 4 hours I called again and there after every time I called they either wouldn't answer my call or they would and then just drop the call. In the mean time my sister and her husband showed up and each of them tried calling AAA and they got thru to them and asked them what was going on. They were being given the run around to. Any way when tow truck finally showed up it had been 6 hours since the initial call. That is uncalled for having to wait 6 hours for a tow truck in a city as big as ***.
My wife got into car lockout situation when she went out to the store and she called for service and they never came or provided with the estimated time of arrival after multiple calls on last Thursday evening.after 2 hours or more of waiting as the car was still running.. my wife called the police and they were able to respond within 5 minutes and provide help. Called get an explanation and to talk to their supervisor. Never was able to connect. So bad service..
Battery exploded in a parking lot . Called AAA roadside assistance. Sat there 2 hours waiting . Talked to 3 different representative. They never came and helped us. What exactly are we paying for? 3 people in the parking lot helped us change the battery I want my money back! Never again!
I called triple A twice. One time for a flat tire and the second time because, my car did not start. Both times they took over two hours to come.
My wife and I have been AAA members for over 24 years. We have only used the services two other times besides tonight (9/14/2022) in the 24 years we have been loyal. Tonight they left my wife and son stranded on the side of interstate 75 outside of *** for over 3.5 hours before they could get a tow truck dispatched and enroute to pick up the car. I dont understand how a company can allow a service call to take this long especially when women and children are left vulnerable and in an unsafe situation for hours. We will no longer be AAA members after this incident as we realize we would have been much better off using any other provider or just calling the tow agency directly ourselves. AAA has proven to me and my family to have no value and it is just a waste of time and money.
I have been a member of AAA northwest for some time
I have been a member of AAA northwest for some time. I am a gold member. I don't use them often but maybe twice a year. Every single time I use them, they cant provide the service that I paid for to me "emergency road side service" I was stuck in the worst section of hamden for 8 hours for a tow. AAA kept hanging up on me I finally got a hold of someone for them to tell me that they have no one to tow my car and they will call me when they find someone. Like what?! I ended paying for a tow after waiting 8 he's for AAA the driver was there in 30 minutes and had a AAA logo on his truck and shirt, go figure. This business is a scam and when you try to complain you are put on hold for hours and then hung up on. After this last time, I will not be renewing my membership. I am resorting to writing a complaint here and physically sending a written complaint into the corporate office because I can't get ahold of anyone they just put me on hold and then hang up. This is a total scam. Buyer beware, use your auto insurance company road side assistance instead because AAA doesn't have AAA service.
Always a *** to deal with. Tow truck comes hours after requests. You can't sign up or upgrade an account without it taking 7 days to take affect leaving you stranded to pay an outrageous tow fee pkus whatever you paid to sign up for their service. They claim to be all about customer service and helping g their members but their policies and actions say otherwise. Beware!
AAA was changing a tire on my SUV when the *** that the driver had put into place become dislodged and as the car fell it caused visible damage to my running board and undercarriage. The driver was apologetic and we were both glad that no-one was hurt. He immediately called his supervisor to report the situation and the damage. I was told to report the claim to the number on my membership card,The next day I received a call instructing me that I would be receiving an email outlining the process for the claim. The emailed letter took me aback,I needed to do all of the leg work and provide all of the photos and videos and quotes from repair shops etc. and all within 7 business days. AAA was not sending anyone to inspect the damage nor were they acknowledging what the driver reported to their supervisor, I now had to spend my valuable time running around resolving an issue that they caused and I had nothing to do with.If this is how they resolve damage they cause can you imagine the type of service and response you receive when purchasing insurance coverage through AAA?Based on this it is fair to say you are better off getting this coverage through your insurance carrier where damage caused by the tow company dont fall on you to resolve on your own.
We have been members for years(6 years on our own and over 10 years with our parents). We had the Premier. Always have stayed within the number of tows that we paid for. This past year we should have had 10 and only used half as many. Had to call three times for the same battery replacement service because they kept sending the same car company that does not provide battery replacement, only to be told after it's not provided in my area and that I had to bring my car to another town for the service. All this, and I am still within 5 to 6 six calls for service this year. The same goes for the previous years. Less than half for those years, as well. Apparently, AAA only provides the service in name. They will cancel or downgrade your membership if you actually try to use it. I repeat, I used it half or less than half and they downgraded my membership to basic. They don't allow you to speak to anyone over the phone. They are cryptic at best, acting like you are a criminal that has been cheating the system. They always promise for a supervisor to call you but they never do, that's if they don't hang up on you first. The only way you can reach them is through snail mail. Snail mail is slow and puts you at risk while they take their sweet time. The basic service only allows for 5 miles. I live in a small town that is at least 25 mins from anywhere. I have a saab and there is no saab specialist in my town. At what point is a business accountable to provide the service that I pay for. They want me to pay for a virtually unusable service in my area for 2 years because I used what they SAID they offered. AAA is a SCAM!
Absolutely abysmal service. It took more than an hour and a half to be called by a wrecker in a dangerous spot. This past Tuesday, August 16, 2022, my car became disabled at the on-ramp to Route 1 south coming from Route 127. We called AAA for roadside assistance in the evening and explained the situation, and were told that assistance would be expedited due to the dangerous location. After hearing nothing, we called to find the status and could not get through to anyone. The calls were put on endless holds. An hour and a half later, we received a call from a wrecker saying he was responding for AAA and asking for our location. In the meantime, a deputy with the Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office arrived and informed us it was necessary to move the car right away because it was unsafe to remain where it was disabled. He called a local wrecker and said we would have to pay him. The car was towed to a garage. We were charged $175.00. The Deputy Sheriff explained that there was no AAA call center in the area and that AAA did not pay enough for local wreckers to provide services for AAA, and that is why we were not getting prompt service.
Yesterday, I tried to find a way to get reimbursed. I was not able to speak with a AAA representative by calling all the numbers on my AAA card. I was given options and when I chose 'all other,' I was told that a service representative would be with me shortly. Then after a wait, I was given the options again and then after a wait, I was told that the call was ended. I finally reached a AAA insurance representative and was given a number to call for ERS reimbursement. I called the number and again was given options, then a wait, and then a recorded message that the person called was not available and their mailbox was filled. Last night we received an email giving us the email address to obtain reimbursement. When I sent the email, it bounced back as undeliverable.
My daughter was in a car accident where her car was totaled
My daughter was in a car accident where her car was totaled. She went to the hospital for checkout. I needed to wait with first responders for a tow from AAA. I did let the agent know my situation. This was around 1:00 AM, but in a town with plenty of garages and towing services.-AAA tow would take 3 hours. The first responders and I would have to wait. This is while my daughter was headed to the hospital.-AAA told me I needed to add my daughter and pay emergency fee since I wasn't in the car at the time of the accident even though I was with the car. I paid.-AAA told me the closest garage was 22 miles away.-When I asked if there were closer options I was told I need to select one and provide the address.-I see there is a solid list of AAA certified repair shops in my town. The one I selected was on the list. I don't know why those weren't offered.-I was asked if they have a drop box for night time. That seems a wild question in this scenario. I assumed they do.-The police called the tow rotation since we couldn't all wait for 3 hours. I'll be paying for the tow, which I would have done in the first place if I thought I couldn't trust AAA.I'll cancel and try another roadside assistance. This seemed like the whole point of having them.
Horrible experience! I requested a tow truck and was left for more than 3 hours waiting in the rain and the dark. Never showed. Being a premier member since *** . What a waste
I called AAA to get my car towed to a repair shop. This was at 10:30. They said that somebody will be there by 11:15 AM. Nobody showed up I called they said no now would it be at 12:58 somebody would be there. Of course nobody showed up at that time .then they said it would be later ,then they said it be later they said *** was on the way.The tow truck arrived at6:05 pm after repair shop closed. I wasted a whole day waiting! This is not god service. This we dont care about you service.
I have been a member for many years and have had the most horrible experience with AAA I have been sitting in the hot sun from 9:30am until present 1:57pm and still no one has come. This is the worst customer service Ive ever seen. I will be writing a letter to the *** as well as a review. This is the second time Ive waited for hours for someone to come out when I had an emergency with my vehicle. Unacceptable
AAA doesn't care about their customers well being and safety! Cancel your memberships immediately!Yesterday they left me waiting in over 90 degree weather for 5 hours and never dispatched a truck to me. I had 4 different AAA reps repeatedly tell me that the driver was behind on his schedule and would be to me in the next 1-2 hours. After 5 hours and it reaching 12:30AM, no truck arrived and they confessed that they could not get a driver to answer their calls. They asked me twice to leave the car with the keys inside for whenever they could get a truck there! Leave the keys so someone can vandalize the car or try to drive it away and damage it more? Not once did they have concern for me being a female stranded for over 5 hours in the dark in the middle of the night. This morning at 7am, I called back and they still could not get a driver dispatched. I had to contact a local tow service myself to tow the vehicle - they were onsite within 30 minutes and the whole situation was resolved in under an hour. AAA customer service is deplorable and they should be ashamed of themselves for the customer service they are providing. I have been a member for YEARS and will never use them again. AAA you should ashamed of how your customers are being treated.

8:05am monday
8:05am monday. Tried online assistance, but was glitchy. And said my zipcode is not within the system. Took about *** minutes total to actually get through to someone. Then told to wait untill 9:30am - long enough wait. Called them back at 10:15am asked if they were coming or not. Told eta 10:25am or a dispatcher would call me if the driver had an issue. Called them back at 10:35am. They couldnt even tell me if they had someone near me to help. They just said that someone was in the area which is what I heard at 8:55am when They finally put in by assistance request. Now being 10:45am, I asked for more info on the mysterious nearby help and got the run-around. In other words, there was no help. Since I knew they would be slow, AND because they refused to give me an ETA, I asked if they could just be there at or a little after 1:00pm because I wasnt going to wait outside for another 3 hours without a jacket. They said In that case they couldnt help me and they told me to cancel the emergency roadside assistance request and just call back later. Naturally I them asked (not so politely) if they would pick up the tab for a local company. They said no. Thats what you het for being a gold member i guess. To make a long story short, the reps are all nice over the phone but that doesnt matter because they are completely useless. One star.
Locked my keys in the car
Locked my keys in the car. locked my purse in the car. called *** to set up a membership so that I could fix both of those problems, was told that it would be $150 to sign up and then on top of it I would have to pay a $75 same-day usage fee. No, why would someone sign up for *** and then have to use it the same day? Because they are in an emergency. *** knows this, knows the person calling in this situation has their back up against the wall, and is attempting to squeeze the maximum amount of money out of them during an emergency. Not only is this a morally bankrupt practice, its also predatory. To top all of this off I got a letter in the mail from *** today offering me a membership for $4.98 a month, which works out to a little bit under $60 a year. Far less than the $150 that was quoted to me, and much much less than $150 quoted to me on top of the predatory $75 fee.Massachusetts should look into whether the practice of attempting to squeeze extra money out of someone in an emergency situation is a legal business practice.I reached out to *** on social media and they said they would get back to me but, surprise surprise, I have not heard anything. I want to share this experience so that others know what kind of company *** is. A company that, seeing you with your back up against the wall in an emergency situation, knows they can take advantage of your emergency and use it to line their pockets.
Been a PLUS member for years
Been a PLUS member for years. Recently had two bad experiences with AAA and that was enough to cancel my membership. The first was when they didn't show up for a flat tire change on highway 395 in *** trooper fixed my tire instead. The second was more recently when my car's alternator died, and it needed to be towed. I was in an urban area (Mystic, ). They said it would be two hours for a tow truck to reach me - which at the time was fine. I waited; they sent a time for the arrival and the company's name via text. The time came and went. No tow truck and no updated text from AAA. I had to call them back to see when it would arrive. They then quoted another two hours and said they couldn't guarantee that time! They also said that my only other option was to leave the car for an "unattended tow" which meant that I had to leave the car with the doors unlocked and the keys inside. I thought this was ridiculous because anyone could break in and maybe even steal my car (if the alternator decided to work). What they didn't tell me was that I could call a tow company on my own, get a receipt, and file a claim. I did end up calling a company that the local police recommended - but I paid cash and didn't get a receipt so of course they won't reimburse me. My complaint though centers on the feeling that I've been cheated or scammed. I've been paying for a AAA membership for years and when I really did need them, they didn't pull through. This is a terrible service and I want others to know that they too might get scammed.

I feel like an echo of the other reviews
I feel like an echo of the other reviews. I called at 11:15am because my car wouldn't start and was told by the dispatcher I had a 1 hour window but things were running way ahead of that in my area. After about 50 minutes, I called back to get an update and was told that since it was a Saturday, everything was running way behind! Then I got a call from a dispatcher who said someone was literally 5 mins away but would be finishing up and be there in 10-15mins. I said that was important because it was very hot and I was stuck without water on a black parking lot. After 15mins, I called back and was told that someone would be there in 15mins. I waited another 10 mins, called back and was told a dispatcher would call me "right back". I started to get angrier at this point since I was getting hotter and each of their assurances had been broken so far. Finally around 12:45 I tried to contact my local AAA office to see if they could figure things out, but the only agent I could connect to was in NJ. After 10mins on hold with him, he came back and said someone would be there in a half our. That sent me over the top -- it would be nearly 2 1/2 hours to get service! Fortunately, at about the same time I got a call from I think the original dispatcher who had said someone was 5 minutes away. She said he had run into difficulties and was the only one in my area able to bring a battery! This time she assured me he would be there shortly. Finally, at 1:10pm the service guy showed up and gave me a jump start. Now the incredible part was that he said he would have been there an hour earlier if he had only gotten the call! AAA has a major scheduling/communciation problem.
AAA in the Northeast needs to get it together
AAA in the Northeast needs to get it together. One time I was on the highway and my car died. I was unable to get off the highway and was stuck in a lane for over an hour. I called AAA and they told me they would send a tow truck over and the tow truck driver never arrived. I also never received the text message that I normally get that confirmed that the tow truck driver would be coming. Luckily enough, someone called the police for me and they were nice enough to help me get out of the lane and called a tow truck driver which came asap. Now, I am trying to get my AAA car battery replaced. It is under warranty as I got it only 4 months ago. I am currently out of service calls, but the person on the line told me as long as I go to a AAA location I could get the battery checked for free as I wouldnt have to pay for roadside assistance. They gave me a location and I get to that location only to then be told they don't even service batteries. The person who told me this was rude as if I wanted to be there. Now I am paying the 75 dollars for the roadside assistance because the next location is too far away to get to and getting an uber there and back would be equal to the money I would need to pay for roadsisde assistance anyway. Why am I paying for something that is under warranty? This is honestly rediculous. All in all, AAA Northeast needs to talk to their workers and make sure they undertstand how things work and what to do in certain situations. I should not be stranded on the highway in a dangerous situation after being promised a tow truck and it never arrived. I should not have to call customer service 5 thousand times and getting told different information each time. I shouldn't get attitudes from workers. I am greatful for what you guys do, but at the same time there is a lot you guys need to work on as a business as you guys do not have your stuff together.
Called AAA 4:15pm needed battery charge told 40 min 5:10 call from provider, told he's having truck trouble will arrive by 5:40, call AAA back
Called AAA 4:15pm needed battery charge told 40 min 5:10 call from provider, told he's having truck trouble will arrive by 5:40, call AAA back at 6:00 as so far he's no show. auto system tells me he's at my home (NOT) wait on hold 47 mins. Rep answers & said he's still 49 min away (he lied about being at my location) He arrives at 6:50 when asked why he lied said boss would fire him otherwise. Holds hood up with his head & tells me battery fine (took him 15 seconds) & my starter needs to be replaced, need a tow. He breaks down in front of my van & calls a friend to tow HIM. 7:15 pm call AAA back & tell them I was told my van needed to be towed. Tow truck arrives at 7:45pm (its dark) I am 75 years old & handicapped, I stand on my porch, leaning on my cane, to the right of back of van, tow man to the front left of my van. I can not see what he is doing and as stated it's dark. He hooks up my van & takes to my garage about 4 miles away, they are of course closed. Next morning, garage opens & all that was needed was a jump start.. They called & told me van was started When I picked it up, steering wheel out of *** on dash is lit & won't go off. I went home & called, TOLD DO NOT DRIVE VERY UNSAFE. Garage picked up van (didn't want old lady driving) checked it out & found tow driver had hooked to tow truck on tie rods not tow hook bent tie rods & damaged Tracking system. If need to step hard on brake there is NO Tracking Control & would spin out. $524.15 to repair AAA claim denied Tow man says he didn't do it & as I was there during hook up I should have seen where he was putting tow chain. 75, handicapped & standing on porch in the dark. AAA sent not 1 but 2 inept people to my home. I will not use them again, but they refuse to return my money for 6/01/22 thur 6/01/23 They say NO REFUNDS I had paid for renewing when *** arrived but the incident happened 4/19/22. Run screaming in the other direction rather than have AAA
On October 13, I tried using a mobile app to book a hotel but faced issues with an unnamed service.
On October 13, I tried using a mobile app to book a hotel reservation for a hotel outside of a certain city. The app crashed before completing the process. I waited for a confirmation email, which is standard from the travel service, but it never arrived. Assuming the reservation failed, I later booked through the AAA Northeast website, which confirmed immediately. At the hotel, I learned I had two bookings. The hotel canceled the extra but couldn't refund as they were paid by a third party. I contacted the vendor for a refund upon returning home. After no updates for over ten days, I warned them of a false charge claim. The travel support's response didn't acknowledge the issue. I reported the charge; my credit card issuer credited me, and the travel service never responded, highlighting their poor customer service and lack of responsibility.

I finally reached a AAA insurance representative in *** and was given a number to call in *** for ERS reimbursement. I called the number and again was given options, then a wait, and then a recorded message that the person called was not available and their mailbox was filled. Last night we received an email giving us the email address to obtain reimbursement When I sent the email it bounced back as undeliverable.

I purchased the Premier AAA membership and of 8 calls Ive gotten turned down for service 7 times.they left me on the side of the road. Stranded! When I called AAA I was told that because of not being able to help me for seven times and leaving me on the side of the road stranded, that they would be refunding my membership money. They said on that conversation that they will refund it and I said even though I have used one service from you and they said yes we will take 365 days and take the price that you paid for the *** and deduct the one time use and refund the rest so it would be a little bit lesser than I had paid originally for my membership. That was in March and it is now June I called back this is the third phone call that I have made to them asking where the check is and I was told that I am harassing them and they would be no refund. they reviewed it and because I used a service one time there is no refund. I specifically told them I have the conversation recorded and I asked them on the original call if I would get a refund even though I used the service one time and they said yes thats when they said that they would deduct the one time use out of the money and I would get a lesser check but I would get something for leaving me stranded once again. They said I had to cancel my membership that day and I would receive a check in 4 to 6 weeks. Like I said its now June still no check and they say that they are not issuing me one because of the one time use even though that was asked about in the original phone call. I think they are a scam! the last time I called for help from them was because my friends car ran out of gas they wouldnt help me because the car wasnt in my name. The time before that I had just bought the car at an auction and only had paperwork showing that I just bought it but the plates were expired. Now even in my own car with good plates they wont help me because my service is canceled. They keep my money and no help.

Roadside Assistance.
I had a flat tire in Strafford CT. My call for assistance was at 1:50 pm on 11/29/2023 and I called several times but they did not dispatch anyone for three hours till after the sun went down. I was told they had sixteen roadside assistance people on duty at the time yet the dispatchers gave me the runaround and made me sit in a cold car for three hours. My name is Peter (I go by Paige) McLoughlin. This is at least negligence if not malice. [protected] 9 is my AAA card. What the hell am I paying for this service for.
Roadside assistance
I called AAA the morning of Monday, 11/13/23 and stated that I needed my vehicle to be towed to my mechanic. The person on the phone took my information and said that I would have a tow truck at my house at 12:20 p.m. I received a call from the Providence office stating that the driver was 15 minutes behind schedule. I did not receive any phone calls or...

I had a really bad experience in the Boston location: 141 Congress Street Boston, MA 02110 I inquired about my driver's license permit this afternoon. But the counters asked me to apply for a membership I used Apple Pay to start a 1-year plan. After that, they rejected my payment of the test fee with permit (30$) and were too rude to me. There was only one Asian in the store. I believe that I have been regarded as racial discrimination and unfair treatment. I'm too bad with this experience and want to start with complain to those 2 salespeople in the store. One is a black old woman, and the other one may be a Spanish or Mexican with pink glasses.

On June 18, 2022 , at approximately 5:30 pm, my daughter hit a pothole and severely damaged our car, so that it was completely disabled on a very busy road. I placed the call for her to AAA for a tow, as she was dealing with police who had arrived due to the very dangerous spot where she was located. I provided the information, as well as the fact that my daughters life was in danger where she was, and that she required a tow as the car could not be moved. I also informed them of the police involvement. After an hour, due to the level of danger in which my daughter was waiting, the police called a different tow company to provide the necessary tow. At that time, I wrote the attached letter to AAA, directed to the Dir of Member Relations with a copy to the *** Please refer to it, as it provides more detail with respect to this problem. Then, on July 12, 2022 at 7:45 am, I called for service again and was provided with a time of arrival of 8;20 for the service to be provided. When no one had arrived at 8:30, I contacted the service provider, again ***, and was given an updated time of arrival of 9:30, with no explanation as to why, I called AAA about this issue, and was referred to member relations.I called member relations and spoke to ***, who said she would take my complaint. I mentioned that I had previous problems with ***, and that this was probably my 5th complaint about ***. She casually mentioned receipt of my letter regarding the previous service call, and acknowledged that they felt they had resolved it. No one had ever reached out in response. As such, I requested that *** back my current complaint and was informed that my own words were now "proprietary" and that I needed a court order to obtain a copy of my complaint, as she had recorded it in her notes. I was also informed that I cannot access any information regarding the investigation or outcome, as that was also proprietary.

On November 30, 2022, I reached out to AAA due to a dead battery in my vehicle. I provided AAA with the make, model, and year of my vehicle. A representative from AAA arrived, confirmed that the battery needed to be replaced, but informed me that the replacement battery they had brought was incompatible with my vehicle. They did not have any suitable batteries at their shop either and suggested that I should purchase one from NAPA. After they jump-started my truck, I bought a battery at NAPA and then drove home.
Subsequently, I contacted AAA to request installation of the newly purchased battery. However, AAA refused to install a battery that was bought from a third-party retailer. They advised me to return the NAPA battery, wait for AAA to receive a new shipment of batteries, and then schedule an installation with them. Following this, I reached out to NAPA, and they recommended that I should have taken my vehicle to a service garage for the battery replacement.
AAA's advertising clearly states that a qualified professional will check and replace the battery if necessary. Despite this, the 'qualified professional' from AAA directed me to purchase a battery on my own. Now that I have the battery, AAA is unwilling to install it in my vehicle. I would like AAA to fulfill their service promise and install the battery. If I am forced to pay another service to install the battery, I expect to be reimbursed for that expense.
I have been a member of AAA for a long time. For the first time, I had a flat tire on my CRV Hybrid on Rte 3 in an unspecified location on 10/5/22. I called AAA and they informed me that they were unable to tow me in that area as they are not allowed and suggested I call 911 for assistance. While panicking with my 7-year-old by the side of the busy highway, a passing tow truck stopped and offered to help me. As it was my first time dealing with such a situation, the driver offered me a flat rate of $200 to be towed to a garage that had the right tire for my car, which did not have a spare tire due to it being a Hybrid. He mentioned that AAA would reimburse me for the cost. After trying a couple of garages, we finally found one in Fair Lawn that had a new tire for my vehicle. I submitted the towing receipts and the receipt for the new tire to AAA. I was only reimbursed $30. I called and spoke to a representative, who claimed there was no record of my call on 10/5 for towing. When I provided the phone number and offered to send a screenshot of the call, she said that wasn't necessary but then requested a new towing receipt that included the mileage. I attempted to contact the number on the receipt without success. I finally emailed the representative and explained the situation, but I never received a reply. Subsequently, I called and spoke to another representative, who refused to revisit the claim unless I submitted a new receipt with the mileage or a breakdown of the towing cost. I explained that I would be happy to provide that information if I could reach the tow truck operator. I suggested that she could calculate the distance to find out the mileage, as I had the starting point and the destination where my flat tire was replaced. She refused and was content to cancel my membership and refund the membership fee on a prorated basis. I would like to be reimbursed for the full amount.
My truck broke down on I-10 near ***. I contacted them to have my truck towed and for four hours they kept telling me the tow truck was on its way . after sitting four hours on the side of a major Interstate with traffic paasing by at 70 + mph and abad storm brewing I called them and told them that it wasn't safe and that I was going to have my truck towed , they said that would be fine and that they would reimburse me for the tow. I have still not received reimbursement . I contacted them at least 5 times iwas placed on hold for over an hour . I finally left a message to return my call I received a voice mail several days later stating they had sent me a check and it was still outstanding and If I hadn't received it to let them Know. so I called back and was placed on terminal hold once again, left another message , I have not receive the $495.00 they owed me still nothing. Last time I called I left another message and told them I would file a complaint . Still nothing.
A few months ago my AAA membership expired. Money is very tight right now so I was considering if I wanted to renew. I received an email offer from AAA for 50% off my annual membership at its highest tier, I paid the amount due, and the money was immediately removed from my account by AAA. However, my membership was not renewed. I called, received confirmation that the email was genuine, that it was visible to them that I had paid to renew my my membership, and was told they were unsure about why my membership was not renewed. I was assured the matter would be resolved by that Friday, it wasnt. My membership has not been renewed, AAA is in possession of what is to me a significant sum of my funds, and AAA has not responded to my emails
Recently, a company updated their credit card partnership from a major bank to Comenity.
Recently, a company updated their credit card partnership from a major bank to Comenity. The only notice I received was a new card with branded material, indicating a positive change. Having had prior dealings with Comenity, I was not keen on continuing this relationship. I informed the former bank of my decision not to transfer the card, but was told the transfer was already done and out of their hands. When I contacted Comenity, they couldn't assist until the card was active. After activating the card to use my rewards and intending to cancel, I've been unable to access my account since October 11. Despite numerous calls and hours on hold, the few representatives I reached were unhelpful and disconnected the calls. Seeking explanations from the former bank, I was met with vague assurances of 'better benefits' and unavailability of supervisors. They also denied any obligation to explain the lack of choice in the transfer, despite the card clearly bearing the former bank's branding. After contacting banking and consumer protection agencies, I was advised to file claims against both entities. This complaint is a final effort to get the company to address these issues, as there seems to be no one available to provide answers or return calls.

My husband broke down on ***, he called AAA and was informed that since he was on the side of a busy road he would be a priority. After an hour, he called back and he was informed that they would be there in 15 minutes. Another hour went by and still no tow truck. At this point he again called AAA and could not get through, however he was still holding on. I myself also called and was able to get through. The woman that I spoke with put me on hold and said she would be right back. When she came back she said that the call was in, which I stated several hours had gone by and he was still at the side of a busy road, I then asked to speak with a supervisor. I was again put on hold and after 20 minutes on hold, I decided to call back. The next person I spoke with stated that the call was in and she said that the tow truck would be there in 15 minutes, they were on their way. Another hour went by and again no tow truck and unable to get through. I finally reached a gentleman and explained our frustration. He stated that he would again put the urgent request in. I told him that I didn't think that we should not pay the $45 for the first 5 miles, but also the fee for the rest of the way to our dealership. He assured me that they would definitely cover the whole bill due to bad service and the length of time that he was left at the side of the road. I was told to fill out a reimbursement claim along with a letter and it would not be a problem. At this point still no truck. My husband called again and he was told that the company decided not to take the call and they would have to find someone else. Another hour went by and FINALLY a truck arrived. This whole process took 6 hours! I filed the claim and received a letter stating we were only entitled to $45. I have tried calling AAA several times and am unable to get through. I have even left messages which I was assured would be returned in 48 hours. It's now months later and no response.
I am a AAA member. I called roadside assistance on Thursday, 16th of November, at approximately in the late afternoon. I explained that I was a woman alone in a lonely area. I was told someone would be with me in 90 minutes. At around early evening, I was told it would be another 3 hours, making it late at night. I called only to be told they had no ETA for help to arrive. I called later in the night to be told again they had no ETA. After complaining loudly to yet another supervisor, I was told they contacted the pickup driver and he would be with me in 30 to 40 minutes. I am still waiting.
My complaint is that AAA says a time then proceeds to extend the time, pleading they do not have enough pickup drivers. They knew how many pickup drivers they had at my initial call and must have been aware they could not get to me in 90 minutes. I am writing this on my phone; it is now the early hours of the morning, nobody has arrived, nobody has called me with an update.
When I said I was an elderly woman alone in a dark and deserted spot, I was told to call the police. Surely, it is AAA's responsibility to ensure their members are picked up and are safe, not the police. This is the second time this has happened to me in two years, and it was exactly the same routine: say you are coming and then keep extending the time. The last time, AAA kept me waiting with a broken-down car for twelve hours.
I went to Triple-A in *** for an oil change Alignment, and tire rotation. I also had other work done, like getting my back brakes cleaned and fuel injector cleaned. They could not get my alignment done after going back for the second time. I paid for a package that includes tire rotation, tire balance, and an alignment. They did not rotate or balanced any of my tires either. Since they did not do this, not sure if they did anything else, but charged me for something that they did not do. The manager took my car for a test drive and told me that the alignment is good when it is not. I would like my money back for something that they did not do. I called the Triple-A claim department in . Waiting to hear back.Date of service 10/22/2022
I booked through AAA travel on November 14th at the Comfort Inn Suites for a stay from Friday, November 18th to Sunday, November 20th. The AAA listing mentioned that there was a pool, but this turned out to be incorrect advertising. We arrived at the hotel around 8pm and were disappointed to find the pool was not available. The receptionist at the Comfort Inn was very understanding and suggested that since we had not checked in yet, we should contact AAA to transfer our reservation to the Springhill Suites next door. I reached out to AAA for help and they promised to call me back. After waiting for an hour without a callback, I phoned them again to inquire about the status, only to be told to wait longer. Frustrated and with my elderly father, 2-year-old child, two teenagers, and my 55-year-old husband all waiting in the car, I asked for a refund as we were all tired and didn't want to wait any longer. We decided to book a separate room and paid over $700 out of pocket. AAA finally reached out at 10:30pm, nearly three hours later, with a room offer, but by then we had already booked and settled into another hotel. We were no longer interested in relocation; we wanted a refund. It became a huge ordeal to get our money back, and after several days of back-and-forth, we were told we would only receive half the refund because AAA had arranged another room. When I called AAA to understand why, the person on the phone was dismissive and unhelpful. Eventually, I had to provide receipts from Springhill and wait for an investigation before getting any resolution. The following day, I was informed that the second half of my refund would be sent by check, which could take up to two weeks to arrive. It seems like an unnecessary struggle to retrieve one's own money.
On April 30, I called triple a for a flat tire
On April 30, I called triple a for a flat tire. The technician arrived and was really inappropriate- staring at my ***, going in and out of the *** several times without explaining what was going on. He told me I smell pretty and my car smelled pretty while staring at my b*** I got scared and rolled my window mostly up. He told me he needed it all the way down. He kept sticking his head far into my car, speaking in a low slow voice while staring at my b*** I called the police because I was very afraid and as a woman alone on the side of the road it was traumatic. This tech then attempted a tire change and stripped 2 bolts. The Midas mechanic who serviced my car afterwards said that whoever changed the tire compromised the bolts so he needed to use heat to remove the tire and he damaged the rims by doing this. Estimate for new rim is here. Triple a northeast has not been helpful about this situation and have handled this traumatic, borderline sexual assault complaint so inappropriately. First person just wrote it off and ignored me when I talked about it. She referred me to the next person. Second person was trying to be helpful and put me in contact with ***, who would be handling my case. *** was unhelpful and insensitive to this horrible situation. She talked over me. Said my car was already damaged and it was not the technicians fault. Said nothing could be done. When I provided proof (from a mechanic) that the issue was caused by the triple a technician (who again, traumatized me, broke my car, then left me on the side of the road) she disregarded it. She shouted on the phone and I hung up. I never complain, but this was just so insensitive and traumatic. AAA northeast put me in an unsafe position and caused me unnecessary expenses, and then were unprofessional and cruel when I was seeking a resolution. This is beyond inappropriate in 2022. I have rights to not be violated by a AAA tech and then basically told to shut up about it.

I called My roadside assistance for a flat tire. Was told an eta of an hour and a half. I had Waited over 6 hours simply because theres not enough drivers. I had No way of picking my child up from his after school care givers, with multiple calls to dispatch nobody could give me an accurate enough eta so i could Plan other arrangements. It was always about a half hr but an hr or so would pass and still no assistance showed up. Nobody has apologized or tried to rectify . I was Told i would be after the drivers tow he was currently doing but after calling assistance several times i was Then told i had At least 2 more customers in front of me. I was Left stranded for 6hrs at night in a rather bad part of town. They should not offer 24/7 roadside and take peoples money if they cannot get to folks in a safe and timely manner. I could have tried to make other arrangements had i known I would Be waiting 6 plus hours for help!
After my daughter called AAA for a flat tire, the tow driver arrived to tow the vehicle 20 hours later. The tire company where the vehicle was towed to informed me that the vehicle had a burning smell when it arrived, and instead of using a flatbed truck, which is how this type of vehicle has to be towed, the vehicle was dragged with the back tires on the road, locked and not in neutral. This effectively destroyed the transformer box under the car. I called and complained to AAA. They opened a case, and left me for almost 2 weeks with no answers. We have been without a car for 2 weeks and had to rent a car. Please help.
My husband has AAA of North, he was driving and broke down due to the battery. We called AAA and were informed since it was out of the service area that we needed to proceed to NAPA auto parts and buy a AAA rated battery and that we would be reimbursed after submitting the receipt, DOS is 9/12/2022. I submitted everything required to AAA and was told to allow 60 days for processing. I had to put this purchase on my daughter's card and she was waiving the interest to me for the 60 days but starting 11/12/22 interest is accruing at 24%. I spoke with 4 different representatives at AAA to confirm before purchase and was told it was covered as I did not want to be stuck with a bill that they would not pay. I called yesterday and was told NO they were not reimbursing me. My problem is if I had to pay out of pocket I could have gotten a cheaper battery than $217.29 from any other auto part store if I was paying out of my own pocket. I bought the battery AAA stated I needed to buy for reimbursement. Also, calls are recorded for quality assurance, I suggest they play all the calls related to this issue. I want the money reimbursed for $217.29 and the accruing interest on my daughter's credit card because it is only accumulating due to them not refunding me the promised amount in the timeframes stated by them for the reimbursement. Name on Account: [Name Redacted].
I have a membership with this company for emergency roadside assistance
I have a membership with this company for emergency roadside assistance. I am specifically referring to my motorcycle coverage. In order to receive such coverage it's required to upgrade from a bastc plan and then pur hase extra coverage. 10/29/22 I had a front flat tire. I called for assistance but the *** was unable to secure a towing company that could tow a motorcycle. To the point, the call was time stamped for 2:22pm and at 7pm they said they wouldn't be able to do it. I had been on the phone with them several times in between but the solution in the end was for me to find service, pay out of pocket, and submit it for review for reimbursement. 1st, I'm on a motorcycle in the city of *** surrounded by other small cities. If they can't provide me service there then how could they possibly help me or any motorcycle driver when we ride in rural areas where you would find most of us on any given day. 2nd, I have tried to get answers but I keep getting boiler plate responses. In the end after the 7pm call to find out I was on my own I tried to cancel online and on the phone. I found a tow company and submitted the invoice. By the time I was done it was 9pm and just dropping into the 40's. 10/30/22 9am I receive a call from *** that they may be able to tow me around 11am.. 18 hours later. Regardless, this statement was not reliable. A the previous evening they kept giving me a two hour window but help never came. I almost let it drag out to see how ling it would have actually continued.I want answers. I want to know about my reimbursement. I want to know if roadside assistance is feasible for a motorcycle in the northeast. I want to resolve this because I need to know why I'm paying extra for not so reliable service for emergency situations. I'm still trying to process what I would do if I were 100 miles away, this tow was about *** $297. If this was an emergency during business hours, this is the money I would use for the repair

My teenaged son called AAA at 1:58 p.m. for assistance after getting a flat tire. He was told someone would be there by 3:26. We have a AAA service center 10 minutes away, so someone showed up to try to change the tire. The attendant wasn't able to (for who knows what reason), so a second ticket was entered for a tow. Over FIVE hours later, still no one showed up. I drove down to meet my son after worrying when he failed to show up at home. We were able to watch the dispatched driver on the tracking link AAA sent. The guy came from out of state (DE - we live in PA). He made numerous stops along the way, stayed in one location several times for 20 minutes or more, stopped at a shopping center, diner and parked outside an establishment in the local Borough which was only 15 minutes from our location. We then watched him head South an hour in the opposite direction.
Calls to AAA were met with the rudest representatives, particularly in dispatch. It started to get dark, the car was not in a safe location, and we were also told to leave the keys under the mat. I was not comfortable leaving the car unattended, unlocked with keys under the mat and eventually called a local towing service. They were there in less than 10 minutes, got the spare out with no problem, and had the tire on in less than 5 minutes. It's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE to have a company taking all of this money from its members who are counting on the security of someone showing up, to be left stranded for hours and hours. EPIC FAIL! I want AAA to pay my out-of-pocket tow bill, and I will be cancelling my membership. Given the amount of complaints I'm seeing here, this company needs to ultimately be held accountable for repeated failure to support its paying customers.
I am a AAA member, and I made a service call on August 27th 2022 sometime around 12pm. My car was broken down on a state highway and I needed a tow. I was told that a truck would be to me in an hour. After an hour had passed I called back to see the status of the tow truck and was told that because the driver's were busy, it may take longer. In the meantime, I placed a call to my service lot to see how late they would be open to receive my car. The service lot was closing at 4pm. I placed another call into AAA and let them know that not only was I in an unsafe spot on a busy 3-lane highway, but because my service lot would be closed after 4pm, could they please try sending someone sooner than later. The call rep responded they were still tied up. The rep then told me that if I were to find a service who could tow my car, AAA would reimburse my tow charges pending I sent a receipt within 30days. I called and found another tow service, paid $275 and had my car towed after waiting for over 3 hrs on the highway. I sent my original receipt to AAA and received no response and no reinburement. I have contacted AAA, via phone and email and left messages. Just this past Friday someone responded stating that their records show I was notified I needed to send an itemized receipt. I replied that I have never received ANY notification from them and re-submitted the original itemized receipt. I still have not received a response. I feel this is unacceptable and as a long-time AAA member, I feel they have taken my money and wasted my time. Why should I bother paying for a service if they can not help? I would like my $275 reimbursement.
We called AAA on October 29, 2022, at 7 PM with a flat tire and required a tow. The operator indicated that they might be hesitant to tow us 20 miles to our residence to avoid reallocating a driver from the area. Our membership includes 100-mile towing coverage. We waited and made multiple calls to inquire about the estimated time of arrival for the tow truck while stranded on the side of the highway. After speaking with a supervisor, the issue was addressed. Eventually, the tow truck driver arrived and mentioned he had been awaiting instructions from AAA since 7 PM to determine our exact location. Due to the subpar customer service and the delay on the roadside, we missed a prepaid Halloween party and forfeited the money spent on costumes specifically for the event. AAA member services merely proposed a $38 concession on next year's membership fee along with an apology. We are requesting a reimbursement for the full amount spent on the party tickets and costumes. It is my belief that a company should honor the services paid for by its customers. Otherwise, we might have been left to spend the night on the roadside.
On October 22nd, my vehicle broke down inside the shopping mall garage. I called AAA and they initially dispatched a technician. Unfortunately, due to the vehicle's position on the side, he was unable to move it out to work on it. Subsequently, I was informed that a tow truck was en route, but it failed to show up. Later, I received a call explaining that the garage's clearance was too low for the tow truck to enter. Two hours had elapsed since my initial call. AAA left me stranded in the cold, and eventually, I had to request police assistance to have my car towed.
Complaint about inadequate service and lack of response from AAA
Fyi-I have identified a point of complaint due to the unresponsiveness of the individuals I communicated with. The member services person who initially contacted me and then failed to respond was from the same location I reside in, Connecticut. On Sept. 27th, my car battery died, and I contacted AAA for assistance. What ensued was a series of letdowns. According to the AAA app, the first driver would arrive within 45 minutes. However, this driver, along with three subsequent drivers, never arrived. I repeatedly called as I waited over two hours for AAA to jump-start my battery, a task that ultimately took a mere 30 seconds. During my wait, I discussed with member services and a supervisor acknowledged AAA's inability to deliver promised services, attributing it to COVID. Due to a medical condition and lack of medication, which I hadn't anticipated needing for an extended period, I was advised to call 911. I mentioned that AAA would be held accountable for any resulting medical expenses. Interestingly, a driver showed up shortly after this conversation. Following this ordeal, I received an email prompting me to call back, but despite leaving several messages, I received no response. I had renewed my AAA membership for the year starting October . It is clear that AAA is unable to fulfill its service commitments yet continues to sell memberships. My discussions on 9/27 also covered how to obtain a partial refund for hiring a private service for the jump-start. In summary, AAA failed to provide the necessary service, admitted as much, and has yet to engage in any form of reimbursement discussion.

On May 4th, I requested a jump for my car at my place of employment because my car would not start. I called *** and explained to them that I needed a jump. They asked if I just wanted a jump start or if I wanted it towed. I requested the jump start. Within 30 minutes the *** truck arrived, I met them at the car and explained what was happening. The gentleman requested my keys so he could try to start my car and possibly make a diagnosis. He said that it was my battery and proceeded to hook up a diagnostic tool. When that had finished it showed that my battery was in need of replacement. He told me that more likely than not, he could jump start my car but there was a possibility of it not starting when I left work or I could buy one from them. I asked how much and he quoted me $160.00. I told him that I did not have that kind of money on my person and that my credit card was at home. He jumped my car and I let it run for a bit. When I left work at 5:30 PM, my car would not start. I then requested a jump. I called home and got my credit card number so I could purchase a battery. The *** truck came about a half hour later and this was a different technician. He did a battery diagnosis and told me that my battery is fine, my alternator is fine and that it seems that something is draining my battery. He told me that my best bet was to jump start the car and bring it to Auto Zone and have them charge my battery. He said that he could put a battery in but he doesn't think that that is the problem. I told him to put a new battery in since I had remembered what the other technician said. He proceeded to put the battery in, when he was done, I gave him my credit card number. He said that he would email my receipt. I never received the email. I called *** office on Friday and they emailed it to me. I looked at the receipt and I was charged $190.19 for the battery! It was $204.00 minus my club discount of $25.00. Since Friday I have been trying to be reimbursed $44.00.

I had a flat tire in the middle of the night, I decided to sign up for AAA that night so I can get service
I had a flat tire in the middle of the night, I decided to sign up for AAA that night so I can get service. I was sent a tow truck since my spare tire didnt fit. I gave them my home address over the phone to tow my car to since I have a tire shop literally in my building. The man came to tow my car and I decided to ride with my brother with my car keys home. When I got home, I didnt see my car. I called the tow guy to ask where he was and he said he was at a different location from the one I gave to them. I told him right away he was at the wrong location and needed to bring my car to my place. He then told me AAA asked him to leave my car at the location and someone else will go pick it up. I called AAA and said I needed my car to my place and they said they will send someone else to go pick it up since the mistake is on them but they needed me to go over there because I had the keys. I said unfortunately my brother left and I dont have a ride and if they were willing to pay/reimburse an Uber ride, I wouldnt mind going but they said no. And I said well ok then, can you just get my car to me then since its your responsibility? The other tow truck driver got to the location and he called me and said the car wasnt there. I asked what does he mean, he said he didnt see the car at that location. I called to complain but they said they were working on it. I called for the service on a Saturday, for the next 3 days, AAA never called me to give me an update. I kept calling but they never once called me back. I later went back to that location on Tuesday, called the cops to report my car missing. We drove a mile from the location they said they left it at and we found it a mile away from there. I called AAA to let them know I found my car with no help from them and I needed some sort of compensation but they said it was my fault that I gave the wrong address which I never did. Thinking of getting a lawyer now since they practically called me a liar and took my money.

On the evening of the 20th at approximately ***, I was heading south on 236 when my truck suddenly stopped working, I immediately rolled into the breakdown lane and was able to sustain enough momentum to turn into the entry road of a local business on ***, upon arriving I was met with security personnel with whom I explained the situation and then following that conversation I called AAA to lket them know that I indeed required assistance and also provided them with the location make and model of the vehicle, I was told a truck would be dispatched within the hour to move my truck to at that time we had decided our home would be the best situation until we figured what we would do. I waited as long as I could which was short of three hours as the temperature had dropped and darkness fell. I contacted AAA told them I had left the vehicle and that I would be awaiting any further instructions. After the issue of the un attended vehicle had been rationalized and the ride situation dfealt with I felt more at ease and could relax and wawaiot the current tow companies arrival to either pick me up or bring me a waiver to sign so they could recover the unattended truck, to no avail, not a soul came to our residence however we were still getting updates and phone cal,ls keeping our confidence that would eventually get the truck home. The following morning was more of the same my call, the response they are in route and then silence, I kept in touch with the business but at *** the following day they had enough and towed the truck,m Covid has hit our family hard so this was not what was needed, there was an initial cost of 250 and daily charges of close to 70 needless to say the truck is still impound, I have not been able to access any of my belongings, the tools have cost us a job not to mention that is our only vehicle, I have asked for a rental to help us they said for one day, I am lost we have no money for this! and now cant travel to work either! he

I had a battery that I purchased from AAA, due to needing a car battery replacement on June 26th, 2022
I had a battery that I purchased from AAA, due to needing a car battery replacement on June 26th, 2022. I literally had the car unable to start on September 11, *** around 8pm. The battery service that AAA offers came out and responded to vehicle at its location. I pay $82 yearly as a membership for Plus, and I had this issue where this car was broken down within the same issue/nature, concerning car battery. I'm highly upset, that within 3 hours, the car battery was in jeopardy again, preventing the car being driven, and stopping my plans for commerce or anything else pursuant to goals for the evening. I heavily depend on the vehicle and the peace of mind I was to get, by having the car tended to by AAA Roadside assistance, was not achieved, when less than 3 hours later, the exact same issue with car battery presents itself again. It also compounded issues, which AAA New England should change, that their car battery service has separate hours (reopening at 6am) than the 24 hours of Roadside services offered. Why would AAA say the rest is offered, but only give a range of hours to battery technicians to come out? This is what makes this situation even worse, and they know it would create more jobs to have the hours align with the 24 hr roadside offerings/menu. I'm at wits end on side of road again, with a situation that warrants battery replacement but due to some holdouts from AAA protocol, he had all the indicators in the first visit (9pm) but couldn't replace it on a technicality. This is what pains me, is that 3 hours later, I'm dealing with the same issue, that is taking time and therefore money from me. If the car battery was replaced at the first response, I wouldn't be enduring this exact same/carbon copy issue, 3 hours later. My time as a member should be more valuable than to see the same issue/burden within a 24 hour period when it was preventable. I want recourse on this matter immediately, as this battery is not cheap.

My name is a long-term member, ID 014, with over 20 years of loyalty
My name is a dedicated member, ID 014, with a membership spanning over two decades. I am writing this complaint on April 2nd due to a car emergency. On March 28th, while at work, my daughter faced a car issue after school at 3:50pm. Believing in our membership services, I assured her to call for assistance and headed to her location. Upon my arrival around 5pm, she was understandably frightened, so I let her take my car home and stayed with the vehicle to await the tow truck, initially promised by 8:00pm. At 6pm, I reconfirmed the service time, only to be later informed via a cancellation text at 7pm that the service could not be fulfilled as scheduled. Contacting the service again, I was told the tow truck would arrive by 10pm. After an extended wait and intrusion at a friend's house, there was still no contact from the service nor could I reach them after a 45-minute hold. Eventually, my friend drove me home. The next morning, after taking my daughter to school, I discovered a $36 parking ticket on my car, which should have been collected by the service 18 hours earlier.

On a snowy, cold Friday at 4:45pm on November 19, I got a flat tire on my car in an undisclosed location.
On a snowy, cold Friday at 4:45pm on November 19, I got a flat tire on my car in an undisclosed location. I pulled to the side of the road and called a roadside assistance service as I had done a few months before for another flat tire I had in August. I knew I couldn't change the tire with the tools that came with my spare, as I tried in August and the roadside responder had told me that I would need special tools and wrenches as the lug nuts were on so tight. I placed my call with the service within minutes of pulling over. The representative told me that help was on the way and they would be there within one hour. As the clock approached 6pm, I tried to call the service again and was on hold for 75 minutes. At the same time, I logged onto their online service through my cell phone and put in a request again. It rolled around to 7pm and I called again; the rep said they would elevate my case and put me through to dispatch. Dispatch finally came on the line and said they would elevate my case. I waited until 8pm, keep in mind no bathroom, no dinner, no water, and it was 20 degrees and blowing cold. I tried a few places myself and was informed by one tow driver that I reached that the service was a mess and that they would likely not show up. 9pm was nearing; I reached my husband who was about an hour and 15 minutes away to see if he could visit Lowes before they closed to buy the tools that we needed to take off the tire. At 9:30, the service rep finally called and said they could not help me and that I should reach out to local law enforcement to see if they could assist. My husband finally arrived at 10pm; we barely got the tire off with the tools he purchased. We arrived home around 11:30pm. I sent in a request for reimbursement to the service and they refused to reimburse us for the tools that we had to purchase or the fuel that we consumed with our truck to get to my car. I finally heard from a representative today and they said they would only reimburse me for my membership this year. Unacceptable after 5 hours on the side of the road.

On 11/17 purchased, what was supposed to be, a new battery from AAA
On 11/17 purchased, what was supposed to be, a new battery from AAA. During the installation, the technician was having trouble getting the battery connected properly where it would operate. He explained that the battery was fine but had been sitting for awhile. Finally, he got it to operate. I expressed my concern and was reassured that everything would be fine. Several service calls later, the battery was replaced on 2/4 due to a bad cell. The replacement battery has always had a problem with maintaining a charge and would run down within 2 weeks or less if the car was not started and allowed to run for 30 minutes. Naturally there were several calls for boosts since the length of time has been arbitrary. The techs kept telling me that I needed to drive the car more despite being allowed to charge at least once during a two week span. I've owned a car for approx. 50 years and know how a battery behaves. I'm disabled and use a walker. If the weather or my pain level is bad, I cannot go outside, so I don't travel much. During the past 3 years I've had the battery boosted many times and was told the same thing. The warranty expired 2/4. A month later the responding technician told me the battery was bad and needed replacing. Which he would do if I wanted to purchase a new one. I declined, after all of the problems I had with 2 different battery's. I called on 4/30 for a boost and was told that I would need to pay $75 because I had used my 4 road calls for the year. I protested the charge because those calls were all used nursing their defective product. I asked that a compliant be submitted on my behalf as this was an outrageous policy, especially since it is obvious that the battery has been defective for a long time. It didn't just fail after my warranty ended. While nursing it along has caused stress on my car charging system. My complaint was submitted 34 days ago and still no response to my request for a boost. Silence equals an acknowledgement of wrongdoing.

Bait and Switch by a Travel Agency
Bait and Switch by a travel agent. On 3/5/22 my son and friend were quoted $1066.50 for a trip including Barcelona. He received an itinerary issued from AAA on that date. On 3/12/22 he forwarded me the itinerary along with the link to AAA's itinerary. I noticed there was no return flight listed. I asked him to request the return flight confirmation. On 3/17/22 he called the agent and also emailed for an explanation. She responded with notes on the attachment. On 4/5/22 he requested confirmation for the return flight. The agent assured him it was included. I left a message with her on 4/10/22 with no response. Again on 4/18/22, no response. I sent her an email giving her until the end of 4/19/22 to send me the confirmation. After a second call, she answered and acknowledged the purchase of a return flight, followed by excuses. First, she claimed my son didn't send the entire document, then that I misread it, and finally admitted they cancelled his return flight. She offered to resolve it but then stated they never booked the return flight and I needed to pay an additional $480-$800 due to price changes since 3/5/22. Despite her mistake, she expected me to pay. After insisting, she transferred me to a supervisor. The supervisor agreed to book his return flight for $453.30 and promised a reimbursement after I paid the difference. However, when I requested written confirmation, she couldn't provide it but claimed she had verbal approval from her supervisor to refund the $453.30 I paid due to the agent's error. Yet, they were vague on the refund process.

On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at approximately 1:17 pm
On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at approximately 1:17 pm., two drivers from AAA picked up my vehicle, a *** Equinox, from *** at ***. The address is 11 miles from *** and about a 45- minute drive. I wanted the car to be picked up by a tow truck because I bought it from my mechanic. It was in great condition at only *** miles, but I had not yet gotten license plates for this car. I wanted the tow truck to drop it off at my residence because of the distance. (Fear of driving w/o plates.) My mechanic expressed concern that they had a regular tow truck and not a flatbed because my car is all-wheel drive. He said he spoke to one of the drivers and the driver said not to worry because they had a dolly. I began to get nervous when they hadnt arrived at my home after a little over an hour. I called AAA. That call lasted quite some time. I was on hold and then the line was disconnected. I called again. Still, no one was able to reach my drivers. I was on hold again for quite some time. Minutes to 4pm, a got a call from the drivers saying that they were outside of my house. (3 hrs!) They took the car off the dolly and I backed it into its parking spot. Two days later, I actually took the car for a drive. The car jerked and jerked, started then, stopped and made ridiculous noises! It was shifting gears like crazy! I took it to a local mechanic who told me the transmission was damaged. This transmission issue was not present during any of the THREE test-drives that my husband and I had experienced prior to AAA handling the vehicle. I called in a complaint. It seems that instead of sending someone to inspect the vehicle, AAA wanted me, the victim, to handle my own inspection. I, apparently, did it incorrectly. Their representative, Winderline ***, told me that my claim was rejected because the car had no external damage! She called me. She wouldnt dare put that ridiculousness in writing. Please assist.

I called today to have a truck sent out to fix a flat tire for an additional member on my account
I called today to have a truck sent out to fix a flat tire for an additional member on my account. They told me that i had missed a payment and that they tried again 2 weeks later to charge my card and again it had said insufficient funds. they went on to tell me that i would now have to pay $175 for the whole year rather than the $16 a month I was paying. I told them that was ridiculous and i couldnt pay that. They sent me to customer relations where i explained to them if i had missed a payment why wasnt I notified? I wasnt notified by email, phone call, letter but instead they waited 2 weeks and tried the payment again when i could have made the payment the first time if i had recieved a notice that the 1st time the payment didnt go through. He explained that he did understand, that they are questioning that and going forward going to try to see that people receive an email or a notification of some sort when a payment is missed or comes up as 'insufficient funds' but that for me there is nothing they can do because that is policy that if you miss 2 payments you have to pay the full year and that was their policy. I told them i was never told that, EVER. He said when i signed up that i should have been notified of that. Told him that I signed up online and it never said that. When you sign up online, it asks for your zip code, then sends you to a page that has 3 options, you pick 1, and then it has you add your name, phone, birthdate, address and EMAIL. Next page is your card number. NEVER once, did it say, if you do monthly payments and miss 2 you are required to pay the full year. In the end, the person I had on my account said they would just make their own account and be there own primary account holder. He went on to make an account, called back and the woman told him he would need to pay $75 because he signed up same day. He said he couldnt make that kind of payment and the woman told him he was on another account. He told her he didnt want to use it because it was his ex girlfriends account. The woman preceded to tell him that they dont send notifications to the person and that "she will never know that you used it". THEN SHE SENT A TRUCK OUT UNDER THE SAME ACCOUNT THAT THEY TOLD ME (the PRIMARY ACCOUNT HOLDER) I COULDNT GET A TRUCK SENT OUT UNTIL I PAID THE FULL YEAR. so not only did she tell someone that i would never know they used my membership BUT ALSO, was able to send a truck out under an account 30 minutes earlier was told that until a year payment was made they couldnt help me. Obviously this company isnt in order or is trying to scam people for full year payments when the whole world is in financial disfunction.
