I just noticed that Allstate has been charging me extra for an additional driver...THAT DOES NOT EXIST...for the last 4 years! Upon request to remove the fictitious person, I got an email that said that they couldn't do it. My agent then tells me that happens all of the time (adding an "undisclosed driver", that is incorrect) and that I had to call to get it fixed. He told me that the fictitious person ("Mary Berry") was added on November of 2019. He tells me that "home office" needs to backdate to the date that they added this fictional person.
I called and got hung up on by two separate reps, until I finally got transferred to a manager. The manager then tells me that she can't remove the "driver" and had to transfer me to someone who could. After talking to that lady, she tells me that she can only backdate 30 days, and the agent has to put in a request (you know...the same agent that told me that home office needs to do it). I then said, "is there a manager that can backdate further?". She said "hold on", then cold drops me back in the original answering prompt (like I was just calling in from scratch). I was then hung up on by two more reps...refusing to put me through to a manager. Finally got someone on the line that was willing to transfer me to a manager. I was on hold for 15 minutes, then the phone was "answered" with silence. Then - after 3 minutes of silence - the call was disconnected.
They have been overcharging me for 4 years (without my consent or knowledge) on a fictional person. I have NEVER known anyone by the name of "Mary Berry", and it's ridiculous that they were able to just add some fictional person, to raise my premium (without my knowledge). I want all the money back that I was overcharged. They had no problem adding some fictional person, to raise my bill, but seem to have all kinds of problems getting it fixed. That seems like a scam, and I'm baffled how this can be legal.
Desired outcome: I want ALL additional charges refunded Immediately!
