It's a scam. . . Do not purchase with this club! I went through training there and they teach you how to sell ''air''. The managers teaching us referred to this product as ''air'' and showed us how to sell ''air'' to clients! They sell a discount program. Members of unlimited vacation club receive 25% off hotel rooms, but if you go through expedia or any online travel service, you'll find cheaper rates than they can get you. The cost of this membership to stay at secrets, zoetry, now, dreams or any other am resorts is $50, 000 for a 50 year membership! If you continue to say ''no'' to the price, they will drop the price all the way down to $5, 000 for a 10 year membership! The more you say ''no'' the lower the price gets. It's all about the commissions to be made and their paychecks.

Am resorts / unlimited vacation club is a new company, just a few years old and it's the worst company i have ever worked for. I have been in the vacation industry for many, many years and i do own a vacation club membership, as well as a timeshare, but never would i buy anything from am resorts / unlimited vacation club. It's companies like this one who give vacation clubs and timeshares a bad name.

Many people complain about how timeshares and / or vacation clubs rip you off and don't work, but if you know how to use them properly, they definitely work. My husband and i, along with our family, have vacationed all over the place, including going to different countries, and i can honestly say that we would have never been able to go and stay in 2 or 3 bedroom suites if we didn't have our timeshare or vacation club membership. It's been great being able to travel and stay in luxury, but with am resorts / unlimited vacation club, to pay even $5, 000 upfront just for a 25% discount is crazy. They also use rci, the same exchange company we use, but to exchange my time to go someplace different, we pay $200. 00 and unlimited vacation club charges $549. 00 to make the exact same exchange! They rip you off in every which way they can and have no problem doing so. They don't have the consumers best interest in mind, only how much money the company will make.

The resorts that am resorts / unlimited vacation clubs have are absolutely beautiful, but to pay that kind of money to get only a 25% discount is ridiculous. If you do decide to join the club and find you have a problem, forget about it, you're on your own.

For the first time in my many years of being in the vacation industry, i had some problems with discrimination and defamation of character and i tried to resolve these problems by trying to contact the ceo of am resorts / unlimited vacation club, alejandro zozaya gorostiza, and after numerous emails and calls, i received no response at all from her. I also emailed numerous times with absolutely no response to the executive vice president, gonzalo del peon, the vice president of sales and marketing, collette baruth, and the senior director of sales, matthew mullen. These people in this company didn't even have the courtesy to respond to any of my emails just to see what was happening at the unlimited vacation club. It has been 2 weeks with no response from anyone. If they can't respond back to the people who make them money, do you really think they will respond back to you if you need some help? No, no and no!

There are so many timeshare and vacation clubs out there that have what am resorts / unlimited vacation club does not have like integrity, professionalism, compassion, and honesty. Do your research about the company before you ever give any company your hard earned money. If you go on a presentation and they say '' this offer is good for today only'' they are lying. You can go back anytime and receive the exact same package they offered you. They do that because they want to earn your business that day and for no other reason. This applies to both timeshares and vacation clubs. Even if they have you sign a paper stating you can not come back the next day, or any other day, and receive any of the first visit incentives, you can. Those papers are all bogus! They try and tell you it's a legal document and it is not.

So my advice to all of you is to stay clear from am resorts / unlimited vacation club. They are filled with empty promises and all they want is your money for purchasing ''air'' so they get a paycheck that week. Trust me, i worked there, but only for a few days. I quit after i saw how they were scamming the consumers.

Best of luck to everyone and happy vacationing:)

This whiner is a nut case. The CEO Alejandro Zozaya is a man NOT a woman so it's obvious the whiner knows nothing about the matter at hand and is probably a troll.
Anybody who has a problem with the Unlimited Vacation Club who has not contacted GBS (the customer service division) to resolve complaints may email me at garrymo123@yahoo.com for assistance in helping you become a happy and satisfied member of the most flexible and comprehensive Loyalty-Reward program in the world. I strongly agree with all the negative comments about unlimited vacation club. We purchased it over 2 years ago and every single trip (5 since purchase) which I have booked through them has been dissapointing. They never have fulfilled their promise of a free "upgrade" when I get to the destination. We do not travel in peak season for the very reason of hoping to get that unattainable upgrade. Their prices are high and I have not been able to use a VIP week (3 attempts made) due to supposed hotel occupancy. I urge everyone who can get out of their contract to do so before it is too late. I am $14, 000.00 into this so it's too late for me.

You have a guaranteed minimum 25% discount below any competing reservation company even at the last minute and you actually have a list of all the retailers we sell the same reservation to that you make, so if you're paying "high prices" you're skipping the system. UVC guarantees the lowest prices and honors the guarantee.

I am willing to join this class action suit and maybe get the media involved so no one else falls for this scam. We are powerful in numbers and if word gets out they will have wished that they settled and paid back people who wanted to cancel. It is ridiculous for them to keep 6600$ Of my deposit even if I have not used any of their services. It's time for all of us to stay together as a loud voice and let this company know that we are serious.we need to start putting pressure and emailing them daily for what belongs to us, like our hard earned money. Please if anyone wants to join or have ideas how to get them where it hurts, ($)let me know email nrecoskie@msn.com

Seriously, if you read your paperwork and follow the procedures the way it's set out, the program WORKS! And will save money over the course of a year.
Class action suits etc are pointless if the program actually works. What is the problem that makes you want to start or join a class action suit?
Let me know and I might be able to clarify and help you get value out of your program.

We went to Secrets The Vine in June on a package purchased thru Costco which did include an upgrade if available. June is indeed a slower month and upon arrival they gave us a Master Suite. Needless to say if you're familiar with this property, we were blown away. Sat thru the presentation pretty much to get the cash for the spa. In our discussion with Jose we told him the reason we are even considering is due to the quality of the Master Suite. He told us "Mr. Mark, as an owner, you will get upgraded to that suite. No questions. Why would we not treat you like family and want you to bring your friends so they also can experience our property." We did end up purchasing. We are ones to look long and hard for our vacation plans to 'get the best deals' and the Costco was a good deal. The sales person even admitted such. The UVC gets foggy as to the 'savings' in part due to the rooms vs a package with air. We too have gone thru the buyers remorse and concerns that everyone has expressed. At this point we still feel very apprehensive. We have reservations set for January taking two other couples. I've had numerous calls to customer service to work it out as I also have not seen the savings. They did a price match which got us the 25% off and the rate we'll pay is good. BUT, as I've expressed to them, WHY have I invested in the club that offers comparative rates that non members can get. It should not even be close. Believe me, I've made way too many phone calls and too much time spent lining up our January vacation. I only hope upon arrival, we will again be 'blown away' with the experience they sold me on. I'll report again after our trip of how it all goes.

You'll find the UVC will work once you figure things out. Most members use frequent flyer miles so airfare is never a problem. The Club is aware that their own retail Apple Vacations gets competitive when they have charter flights and UVC IS working on that problem to ensure that members' pricing is unbeatable. We appreciate hearing members' concerns and I hope you send a similar email to GBS (UVC Customer Service) at: uvclub@globalbureau.com headed as "ATT: resort services department" because if they don't hear direct from members they assume everything is hunky dory.

When I attended the presentation in dreams Palm beach punta cana I also just wanted the $50 credit to the spa. I just like others got sucked into joining this membership. Now o regret it. The representative was telling me and my husband how we will be paying for our vacation in advance that all we needed to buy was the air flare. Then they said the 1 week free and the yacht for free and all these other things for free. I like many others went home after the vacation and saw that there were the hidden fees. A fee to reserve the trip a fee to RCI a fee if I want the yacht a fee here a fee there and then I finally went to their website and saw that I have to pay for the hotel. So how exactly am I paying for this discount vacation membership? The so called 25% off is the monthly payments you will be making. The 25% deposit, the additional 25% deposit. Also not to o mention the annual fee for 10 years. So I will pay in advance about $7000 and all the hidden fees plus let's say $2500 for 2 ppl 7 days and air flare an estimate of $500. That's a total of $37, 000 for ten years this does not include the hidden fees. There is no saving. I feel so bad to everyone who is getting scammed including me. I fell for it. Don't fall for it please. I'm in the process of writing reviews on this so ppl don't get caught n regret it like me.

During an AMResort UVC presentation, up front ALL FEES are disclosed. There's $126 a year renewal and a $20 reservation fee. That's it - no hidden fees. Wyndham Worldwide/RCI and The Lifestyles Concierge Service are options to the membership with 2 years free trial. If you have no use for them there are no fees to pay but when you realize the immense savings they provide the fee structure to renew them is minimal. Once again if you need any help sorting through what you own, email me: garrymo123@yahoo.com

We purchased August 2013 and took our first vacation August 2014. I found a rate online around May 2014 that was less than what UVC had on its website. It was not on the "list" of sites from the contract, and I was anticipating that they might take issue with that. They honored that rate, and gave me an additional 25% off. I was pleasantly surprised it all went well. I saved a decent amount of money. I politely asked if an upgrade was available upon arrival, and the room that we were given at Sunscape Sabor Cozumel was great. We had a junior suite with a jacuzzi on the balcony. It was really nice. We got phone calls about 3-4 times during the week to see how things were going and to ask if we needed anything. That was a nice touch. My friend joined us a day later, and I told the front desk she was coming, and they gave her the same "coupon book" of discounted services that I was given. Not sure if her room was really upgraded, but she seemed to think she got a better room than what she paid for-she was happy and thnked me for mentioned it to them. I was very happy with my first booking after purchase, and everyone was very nice at the resort, and I did feel a little "special". We did book an excursion and got a discount, and we used our coupons at the spa. There was also a little cocktail reception for the UVC club members one evening, and prizes were given to everyone who came. They put names in a hat for the prizes. (jewelry, , spa voucher, romantic dinner voucher, etc) Nice touch. I recently booked our first trip with RCI, although I did pay a little to "deposit" my week, (I think it was like $185 or so, I might be wrong) UVC gave me a week for free. So I used one week but got two to deposit. That was a surprise, I didn't know I had that "perk". So instead of 20 weeks that came with my membership, I guess I'll really get 40. We'll be staying at a condo in FL between Xmas and New Years. I can't speak to the folks who feel they got ripped off, but I am here to say, so far, so good! This was our first "time share" kind of thing, and I was really nervous and skeptical and worried after we made the decision. I called customer service a bunch of times to better understand the process and the benefits, etc. But now I am pleased, and I am sure I'll get lots of use and save lots of money over the years with my membership. I just hope AM resorts can keep adding destinations so we can try new places under the resort family umbrella. I am really happy and I just wonder about all the complaints. Have you tried to use the membership at all? I read through the contract and asked TONS of questions. I don't feel like I was lied to. To me, it is like your gym membership. It is only worth it if you use it. If you pay $100 a month for a gym that you only use one day a month, that isn't a great deal. But if you travel once or twice (or more) a year, do your homework and use the tools available, find a rate, get the 25% discount, and if you are lucky enough to be upgraded (and it was in our contract that only upgraded if possible) then it is a good deal. We saved money and got an upgraded room--one that I would have never paid the published rate for that room.

Terpfan...well written. We love traveling to Cancun and have stayed at 2 Secrets resorts. Both very nice. I too am hopeful they continue to expand. Looking forward to the first all inclusive in Hawaii. As mentioned in my previous post, I hope that 'special' feeling is experienced on our trip as an owner with the upgrade.

Guys, you forget to mention that the 25% off the best rate you can find with their partners is only for the hotel and not when you combine the purchase of your stay your flight to get there. most companies will make you a deal if you purchase the hotel flight together.

I've crunched the numbers and if you take in consideration the hidden "fees" that they ask you for when making the reservation the lowest interest on the charges they ask you versus being non-member and just buy your package on expedia with flight included whenever you want to leave for your trip: AMRESORT / Unlimited Vacation Club is more expensive AND you paid to be a member (what ever diamond super duper gold perling bling they've sold you) here are the numbers that nobody is speaking about (because the club ask you to keep the secret): lets take the following real example that I've compiled today just for your consideration and this blog needs some facts and honesty.

Hotel room : Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita Riviera Maya All Inclusive - Ocean Front (1 Bedroom Suite Tarrace 1 King)

Dates : 27 oct - 3 Nov 2014 (7 nights)

2 adults / U$ currencies

UVC Members pay package from their website (HOTEL ONLY) : 3560$ booking and other fees

Price of flight for 2 adults on those dates : 816$

TOTAL UVC: no web research "buy it now / add to cart" option = 4376$ fees

Expedia: NON-UVC-Members pay for the same trip (hotel flight) Exactly : 3562$ (converted from Can$ to U$)

Now for best part...the "air" that UVC is selling you ...

Expedia sells you the hotel package without the flight for : 3382$ wow lets take 25% off that!

2537$ is your new price ... seems like a deal? this is were you are wrong...

add the flight you get : 3353$ (again fees)

so if we take the fees out and just crunch the numbers you've just saved 29$ for 2 adults for the same trip but how much did you spent for being a member? [protected]-100K$ ? plus 6..9% interest...

oh yea they did give you "free nights" right? just have to pay the plane and the booking fees etc... your whole package is paid just with those hehe ... lets say 56 nights (8 weeks) that number is for one adult so 2 adults reduces the 8 by 2 = 4 weeks. ok so 4 weeks free vacations lets crunch those shall we?

2537$ (2 adults) x 4 = 10, 148$ - fees - interest and availability etc ... this is their actual cost. If you paid your package more than this or you have less than 56 free nights, you got scammed

Just my 2 cents... hope it revealed a lot of facts and forget about the [censored] they are telling you on upgrades...their are no room available for upgrade sir we are deeply sorry try again on your next stay with us because, you bought 40 years of them. ;)

Yeah, I got suckered. They have a 'trial membership' called Discover after you go through the regular presentation. It is only $1600 for 3 years. My wife and I get tons of miles from CC's so we use those for our flights and only usually need the hotel. This is the only way it works. in the last year that we have had the membership, everything they have told us 'hot week' specials etc have not come to bear fruit. You do get 25% off the resorts but that is about it. The AM resorts are my favorite. Best food and booze. We also had trouble booking our free nights from joining (there are a lot of conditions they put on them). I would not join again, there isn't very much value in it. Especially if you normally book hotel and airfare together the savings in null. Don't believe what the salesmen tell you, they throw a bunch of numbers and benefits at you to confuse you. When you drill into them they really cannot clarify or prove the claims.

I also got suckered into this--my big bonus was a free week. That was 4 years ago, and I've never used a free week, or any other week. I also quickly realized that it would be cheaper (and easier) to book on my own--I'd be able to get a better rate for the same, or better room. So yeah, I bought the "air" also. I don't want to pay an annual fee for nothing, and I'd dearly love to get my "investment" back (if you can even invest in air). They've got a great thing going--it's very seductive to sign up while you're in the middle of a relaxing and worry-free vacation. True, no one forced me to sign anything, but I'd have to say that their tactics are very high-pressure (yes, they are very nice people). And they throw so much paper and so many explanations that all seem plausible that you walk away thinking you understand it. And now I'm getting calls from people who want to buy my timeshare. They know an awful lot about me, and my business, and based on my research, that's another scam too. I just want to be rid of this company and everything about it.

Spell check anyone. Some of these people might as well be speaking swahili. I guess anger and frustration will do that to you. I recently bought a silver with 4 free weeks 100 rci nights and 2 free years of uvc and rci with yacht club. I'm hoping what they sold me is the real deal but all these comments make me a little uneasy. My free weeks include 2 people 1 for 1 at any 4 star resort. only trade off is if you upgrade to 5 star its 2 for 1. So 4 weeks is really 2 weeks at a 5 star which was explained to me before purchase. Crossing my fingers and hoping I didn't buy air...will give an update soon

Hello fellow vacation club members. I just signed the contract for platinum (40 years) at $48, 000. I Did not try to negotiate a lesser
price. This all happened on December 5, 2014, my second day at the Dreams Sand Resort and Spa. It was beautiful and the service was excellent. I was also very impressed with the Secret Vine Resort which was shown to me after the presentation. I was very disappointed when I returned home a week later to learn that I could not reserve a week for my son's birthday at the
same Resort in January. That is when I realized it would take 21 payments of $913 before I would earn one week stay at the resort. One premiere night is earned for every three monthly payments. Unfortunately, I did not read the contract line per line before signing . Neither did I know that payment in full was required before I could start using my weeks at Dreams Sand Resort.
I called to cancel and was told a supervisor would contact me within 24-48 hours. Someone did call, but unfortunately, I was not home. The contract does state that up to 50% of the selling price must be paid if I wish to cancel. I regret that I did not bargain for a much lower selling price! I plan to speak to an attorney on Monday, December 22, 2014 .

We signed the contract in 2012. The company kept calling to offer discounts to see we want to pay off rest of balances. The company also sold our information to others. All we get is endless sales calls. We just want to get out of contract, and put this company to do Don't call list. Could anyone tell me how to get out the contract, and get our money back? Thank you!

I also was told that I would get a return call within 24-48 hours TWICE. They don't care. They have my money. I can't get any of my friends and family to take advantage of my club because they always find a better deal! I am so so so disappointed. I'm not giving up either. If any of you have any success stories of getting your money back-PLEASE let me know how you did it. I am calling an atty if I don't get a response from these people. I paid thousands of dollars to get the same pricing my travel agent gave me(yes taking into account the flight cost). And she included airport transfers!
RCI is a joke too. It seems they only have locations during off season times!
I am sick in my stomach over this. Never would I think I was this stupid.

Well, this Saturday I'll be at Secrets The Vine for my first experience as a member. The biggest issue, and I am guilty, is the sweet promises made by the rep. Indeed the fine print is a different story, thus all the remorse from those posting. I must say that UVC has been very responsive in email correspondence with me. The "free" yacht is reserved for an excursion with our friends. I will be frosted if we get to the boat and find they need some type of payment. I am holding them accountable for all the sweet promises and upgrade. I'll post an update in a couple weeks.

I keep reading all the negative comments here in awe. We bought the membership last September while we were in Cabo and are just beginning o plan our first vacation with the membership. I hope our experience is not as bad as some of you have described it here. If we (my wife and I) walked into a scam, shame on us for not reading the fine print or going with our gut feeling that what sounds to be so good is usually not. I guess we can live with whatever they offer and that is our punishment for being naive.
My concern now is the list of people that I have that are so interested in giving this a try. If what I am reading here is true, there is no way I will recommend my family and friends to fall for something like this. I am so confused right now.

Okay...Just returned from our trip to Secrets "The Vine" in Cancun and here's my update as promised. IT WAS FANTASTIC! I am so thankful to write that. If you've read my other posts you'll understand as I too had very similar concerns. Our friends who were with us are well traveled and had rave reviews of the trip. We had our upgrade as promised to the Master Suite. If you haven't stayed there, you need to and you'll understand. Met with the sales manager again and came home feeling very good about our investment. Visited another Secrets resort for dinner. Ditto, beautiful and delicious. The 'free' yacht excursion was as promised. Great time. Hope you all have your concerns alleviated as well. I will continue to read this blog and update with each trip we take.

We just booked our first membership stay at Now in Punta Cana and we were able to use 13 of our free nights with no money required. We were able to get two rooms and take our kids. This is the first time we have booked and it all seemed to go smoothly. We will see if we get the free upgrade when we get there. We did pay for our membership in full when we purchased it so I can't speak to having the 50% down in order to use the free nights. We felt we were treated fairly and love the resorts so can't wait to visit most of them. We have owned a timeshare for several years so are used to trading with RCI and were given an ample number of weeks to do that. We are excited to be going on this trip in March and hope it is everything that was promised.

To all the complainers . . . you obviously do NOT know what you bought, yet you condemn with vitriol. UVC and its affiliates, Lifestyle Collection and Wyndham Workdwide, offers the lowest prices in the travel world and if all three elements are used the average family will save much more than 50% a year on travel. Within 3 - 5 years you'll have saved more than you invested and if you have first-visit incentives such as free stays, annual travel cash, etc, your return on your investment is IMMEDIATE WITH HIGH DISCOUNTS FOR THE REST OF YOUR TRAVEL LIFE.
The UVC is designed for those who TRAVEL, VACATION and spend money doing so. If you only take one $2000 vacation every couple of years the Club is NOT for you.
Anybody who is actually spending money on annual vacations and is either complaining or running scared because of the confused complainers, I'm prepared to help you sort it all out and show you how to make the program work really well for you. Address any questions, concerns, fears of "lies" etc to: garrymo123@yahoo.com

I purchased my UVC membership at age 30 and I love it. The only issue anyone should have is the price that you pay for the membership you want. I was lucky to get a silver membership for aroung 15k. I use my membership several times a year and the room rates are always 25% or less than any other room rates offered on any website. I was able to submit I price match that I found on another site and UVC honored it. I don't really plan to use the time share days because i'm more of an all inclusive guy. To anyone seriously considering a membership I say go for it if you can afford it. Make it work for you, your family and friends. Just this week a friend had me check rates at Secrets in Jamaica, the room is $3000 or more on the websites, my membership gets the same room for $1600. I do not work for this company, I'm a hard working law enforcement officer and enjoy taking all inclusive vacations. I live in Maryland. I hope this helps someone

Thank you all for you information, I sat through there grueling sales pitch all day I lost my first day of my vacation. They had me locked in 100% until at dinner when a couple I didnot know at all over heard what I was doing and strongly advised me against the purchase that I was about to make. They said they had nothing but problems from day one. I was feeling very uneasy and nervios about the entire thing already until they talked to me. I went back into the negoshiating table where they had all of the contact in hand for me to sign and lock me down for 42000. I told them I needed an overnight to sleep on it. They tried everything they could to stop me from leaving short of retaining me. I went back to my hotel looked up complaints after complaints I felt uneasy because they charged my credit card three time for small amounts as to not get my card company to shut my card off due to me being out if the country( very suspicious) they wanted permission to check my credit to open a card to cover the 50% down payment to get the contract done. Turns out they actually got me to sigh an authorization to charge my new card 18, 850 that I didn't even realize they opened it. I really thought I was only sighting an authorization to check status on my credit . I came back the next day told them I was backing out thank goodness I didn't sigh my contracts I i only needed to get them to debit my card and the new card they falsely opened up on me. I am crossing my fingers on the debit transactions to go through. So thank you to the couple from Michigan that was so kind to step in and warn me THANK YOU

UVC, GBS, ETI, Discuentos Vacationales are synonymous to LIES, FRAUD, SCAM, EMPTY PROMISES. Stay away from them if you don't want to lose your hard earned money. Refund? No such thing!

I have just spent the better part of the evening, reliving the same experience as most of the posters here, except for those UVC plants, Like "Wheat1" and "GarryM". The timeshare industry represents 10.8 billion dollars in sales per year, that is Billions, with a B. So, for RCI, UVC and the British Bank Barclay, it is no surprise the amount of misinformation can be seemingly validated by individuals that make their living using deception to relieve all of us of our hard earned cash. Everything I have read from people who discovered they were spoon fed lies is true. I have owned Palace Resorts for 15 years, and have had very good service and experiences. But my experience with UVC is just the opposite, the cost to use their "product" is just silly. Our payment is $300 per month.. To use one of the "free" premier weeks requires us to make four (4) payments for the use of ONE night. So, to use seven nights, we have to make 28 payments, or $8400 dollars for ONE "premier" week, or $16, 800 for the use of the two premium weeks. That is the total cost of the package. Once you have used the premier weeks, you are back to paying rack rate minus their advertised 25% discount, so can you see, how after reading the fine print, after coming down from the tropical high, and overdose of sun and tequila, why all of us are freaking out. So, we contacted UVC, and said, NO, not paying you a penny. Go ahead, try to ruin my credit score, We contested the Credit card charge of $4000, from a bank that we have had a stellar record with for over 20 years, and the pulled the money from UVC, then we contacted UVC's "quality" department and spent some time with Justino, who offered to cancel the contract for $6000, we said, nope, we are not going to pay you anything, you have our initial $1000, go ahead and keep that, for your troubles, but nothing else. What I suggest to EVERYONE is to just stop paying them, force them to the table, bankrupt them if we have to. UVC has already moved their office in Florida to a new location, (google maps is awesome). It's a shabby office building in a sketchy part of town, not some lavish corporate office complex, and the employees speak very weak english. And everyone should know, the company is based in the Dominican Republic, not in Mexico, so, the company does NOT have to honor Preveco rules. They honor the 5 day cancellation rule, but they do not inform you you have that right. That is the sales staffs crime in the process. If you know anyone going on vacation, ANYWHERE, advise them, never, ever attend a timeshare, or vacation club presentation. There is no free lunch. To quote the words of timeshare guru, Mary Lorenzo (google her) "If we didn't offer free stuff, no one would show up". There are youtube videos on timeshare techniques that would make your blood boil. The deception is pervasive, and its all about sell, sell, sell, no matter what it takes. Every one who has been victimized by UVC just keep up the pressure, keep telling your stories, keep telling the sales staffs NO, keep refusing the presentations, keep spreading the word. Lets use the power of the pen, the internet, the press, craigslist, any social media you have to spread the truth about your experience with UVC. Tell your story about being detained for 5 hours, having your personal information like credit cards and drivers license kept from you in another room, with no cell phone or internet access to fact check anything they say. Being shadowed in your resort by sales persons, to your room, to your restaurants, all part of the process of getting you to sign before you can leave the country. We even had a sales person coming to our room, and our table to get us to sign our contract. They kept our documentation for six hours, and the one credit card has already been used fraudulently, and the only time is was used on the trip, was when the UVC sales staff had it. I would not recommend the company for your travel and lodging needs.

Trust me, UVC can't ruin your good credit, US CC companies are SMARTER than UVC. Lucky you, you only lost $1, 000. I paid them 12, 499, it took me a while before I realized I was scammed. They charged $5, 000 on my Amex, when Amex rejected it, they did a bogus charge as if I bought some expensive merchandize in Mexico. They did not dislose this to me, just found out when I received the statement. This was a red flag that I ignored. I continue to pay, until Margarita told me that they have nothing to do with ETI. It was them who made the transactions, and now they have nothing to do w/ it? I'd rather loose what I already paid than give them another penny. To those who had an awesome experience with UVC, I wish you many more wonderful experiences.

I was told that when I book with Unlimited as a member I would always get a price 25% cheaper than any public price. While staying in Cancun I asked several couple what they paid and if they were members. None of them were members and booked through apple vacations cheaper than what I could get directly through Unlimited. I called an complained what good does it do to be a member when you are offer lower prices to apple and other online agencies and what good was my $30k membership program when I could book cheaper with apple and not have the membership fee? This company is am absolute joke stay at the resorts just don't join Unlimited Vacation club.

I to bought into this scam. I bought my club membership in Cancun last September. I just called to book a cruise and was quoted 958 for 4 day cruise. SUPPOSEDLY.. that included my deep discount. I went on Carnival cruise website and got a quote for 913. for the exact same cruise/ room. As a member, I should not have to be the one to research other sites to get the best price. Then I was told that I need to activate my account with lifestyles. This fee is ONLY 2999 one time fee or $250/ year with ability to go up with inflation. I was told that I got 2 free years with life styles and is now told that I have to pay now after just 6 months. I am not signing up for any thing more!

My husband and I just fell for this scam at Secrets Aura in Cozumel on Saturday March 28. Luckily we came to our senses and sent a few email cancellations, filed a dispute on our Credit Card, and went back to the sales office before we flew back to the USA on Tuesday and made them sign and date our cancellation email. When we did this, they offered us an additional 7 night certifcate at any of their resorts if we would give them a second chance to earn our business, which we refused. The price of our silver package was $22310 and there is a $1199 closing cost fee. Our silver package included 5 premier weeks or 35 nights prepaid, 2 VIP weeks @ $1500, 4 bonus weeks with RCI, $1500 travel credit with Lifestyles collection, 10yr yacht club membership, 2 yr RCI membership, 2 yr Lifestyles membership, 30 yr Unlimited Vacation Club membership, and 350 exchange nights...sounds too good to be true, huh. They also gave us an upgrade for the remaining 3 nights of our current stay (which ended up feeling like a downgrade, the internet did not work) and $200 leisure cash to take our sales person to dinner...more like us take her to dinner! I now have to wait for my credit card company to remove it, they put the money on hold. In Mexico there is a 5 business day cooling off period, the trick is to make sure you do your homework before that period is up. The company that can help with these complaints is Profeco in Mexico, you can review their rules on line. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this whole ordeal will be behind me soon. We have never fallen for one of these traps before and we vacation 5-6 times per year. We paid 50% down plus the closing cost so in total $12500...that is a lot of money to waste. This is a discount membership, nothing more, so unless you plan to stay at only the AM resorts exclusivley for the next 10 years or so it is hard to recover your money. Personally we prefer Marriott and Sheraton hotel chains, except in Mexico we prefer Secrets Resorts, they are extremely nice. However, we go to Mexico probably once per year, Europe once per year and then we do a few domestic trips in the USA to Miami, San Fran, and NOLA. I hope the word gets out and more people do not get sucked into this trap, their sales people know how to sell and they hit people when they are feeling eutopia and have just started a luxury vacation and defenses are down! As I said I have always steered clear of any sales pitch in the airport or at any resort becasue I do not want to waste my precious vacation time...I have no idea how I got sucked in this time and am disappointed in myself for being vulnerable and doing something I said I would never do! It will not happen again, that is a promise!
