Applebee's customer sevice

my husband and i desided to eat at applebees in the new bronx mall after shopping on 1/31/10, when the grammes was on, we desided to eat at the bar so that we would be able to watch the tv while we were eatting, the bartender was nice enough to put it on for us, then the manager came and changed the channel, we asked why she was doing that, she then said it can not be on, she said we can watch the news r sports, i asked why, she then said with an attiuded, look its sports r news thats it, r we can leave, i then said just pack up the food so that we can leave, she said that is up to u . Since i am a paying customer and being that i did not want to watch anything that was degrading in any way, i do not understand why i could not watch it, but yet they had rap playing loud in this place as if i am in a club, but i could not watch the grammies that comes on once a year for just 2hrs, and it could not b explaned to me why .

Two reasons why, first it is company policy to only have sports or sports news on, they want applebees to be a sports bar, young person hangout, thinking this will increase business at night. Gag... Secondly the manager could have allowed it but since the on duty manager can favor certain instances and negate others, they are in essence profiling experiences to their preferences and it's either their way or the highway. I guess it's just business?

Applebee's service/management

I have filed 2 previous complaints concerning a situation, and NOTHING has been done. I had another related incident tonight that upset me. The biggest issue is the failure of management to take proper action to discipline a very rude and unreasonable server. They further have been VERY rude and judgemental of me, without giving proper consideration to my complaints.
I am 61 year old retired military officer and a respected member of the communnity.

First off, several months ago I received VERY rude service from my server, Ginger St.John. When taking my order she was VERY short and rude. There came a point when I politely asked if I could ask her a question, to which she VERY rudely said NO as she turned and walked away. She definitely has an unfoundes dislike for me.I have tried to get her to explain why she was so ANGRY with me, but will not explain, not try to work out whatever problem she has with me.

Several weeks later she(Ginger) came in very angrily and rudely butted in on a conversation I was having with the bartender(Susan). She then scolded me about an issue outside of the restaurant and didnot involve her at all. I spoke to the manager (David Elliott)that night and he has taken NO action.

At this time I filed a complaint with Applebee's Corp, and nothing happened. I first wanted to NEVER go into Applebee's again, but I enjoy the restaraunt, other that for this situation, and diddn't think I should have to stay away because of bad management.

I decided to avoid Ginger as much as possible, but tonight some friends asked me to join them. It just so happened to be in Gingers section. She refused to serve me. The manager(David Elliott) scoulled me in front of other guest, for sitting in her section, and I felt he was about to have me removed.

I don't understand why Applebee's Corp would allow such treatment of a regular customer( 3-4 times a week for the last 3-4 years) to continue.

Joseph Conner

That goes against what I know to be true...if shes rude to you, could it be that you deserve it...Face it, she a great looking woman and must get hit on all the time and maybe you can't handle rejection very well...if I am wrong, then ask her why she is rude to you - not trash her in a public forum...as far as I can tell, she is great at her job!

I have been waited on by Ginger and I think she is very rude too and not just on one occassion. If she doesn't like her job she should quit. I'll ask for a different waitress if I know I'm going to be served by her.

I enjoy Ginger and have had no problems with her. I do not agree with this complaint made by Joseph Conner. I have heard of several things that have happened outside of this establishment that would lead people to think differently of Joseph Conner. Why would he mention them though? He only tells what he wants to tell so that everyone will feel sorry for him and agree with what he has to say. To everyone on here making negative comments I say that you need to approach Ginger and get her facts then make your decision. Remember that there are two sides to every story and only a complete a%* will get on a site like this and trash talk someone without hearing and knowing what all is going on.

Well I will say this I have known this young lady for almost twenty years and have been in Applebee's as a customer of hers and she has never once acted in any other way but as a professional...

now Mr. Conner as others have commented before me go to another Applebee's if you dont like the service, but it seems to me since you continue to go into said place of business and continue to seek out this young lady you are the one that has the issuse...the reason I say this is she cant choice where she works, but you can choose where you eat.

As for 69SS77, well all I can say is wow, she must have really shot you down...HARD!

I have always had great service from ALL the staff at Applebees, especially Ginger. The above comments by 69SS77 sounds like sour grapes, possibly from rejection from said waitress for unwanted advances, maybe? Those comments are unacceptable in a public forum and I would advise Ginger to screen shot those comments, contact site administrator and have them pulled, then contact a lawyer to start a suit for character assassination.

I am from Halifax and have had great service at Applebees. I have had Ginger as my server many times and she has done an excellent job! I was told by a friend about the comments made here, and I find some of them appalling. Why is it so easy to go online and drag someone's name through the mud? 69SS77 is a cowardly idiot! Commenting online about "what you heard" about someone is as low as dirt in my book. If you haven't been waited on by her, then keep your trap shut! Mr. Conner at least had some reason behind his post. I guess I shouldn't say anything, but I feel it's wrong to do someone this way. Working in a job that requires you to deal with the public is a challenge that most people will never understand. Could it be that the above individuals are A#$&@^ES that make serving them almost impossible. I will continue to go to Applebees and will enjoy it. If Ginger is my server, I'll make sure she gets a good tip for a job well done.

I've had great service at SoBo Applebees (usually waited on by Simon, who is probably younger than Ginger, but obviously knows more about customer service than she does). I've never been waited on by her, thank God. I do know who she is though. I have heard of other people having run-ins similar to yours with that fat ###, so I feel your pain. Honestly, I'd be careful about going back there...you never know what an unstable woman like her will do. She may give the chef a quick BJ and get him to spit in your food (OR WORSE)...and from what I've heard about this broad, she's just the type to do something so whorish. I heard she "gets around"...if you know what I mean.

Maybe she's just bitter that she lacks the necessary skills to hold a better job?

It's a further drive, but the Applebee's in Lynchburg has great service. There's a short Asian girl there who has absolutely outstanding customer service skills.

Applebee's bad food and overcharges

Tried to give me a well done steak after ordered rare sent back the manager said *** bill butt didn't and over charged me for drinks and kids meal didn't really want to be a *** on chistmas eve but its started to piss me off. 45 dollars for a 7oz steak and a corndog seams a little steep if you ask me. that is the last time i ever will step foot in an applebee's restaurant and will tell all my friends and people that i work with not to go to applebee's cause they suck.

My family has enjoyed going to Applebees for many years. On 10/23/2009 I met my son, along with a few of his friends at Applebees in Nicholasville, KY for dinner. It was a Friday evening and it was packed. Needless to say, we had to wait for our food, but that wasn't the problem. When we requested our checks, our very friendly waitress brought them promptly...

Applebee's terrible food, terrible service

After my family and I visited Applebee's for dinner last night, we agreed we will NEVER go back. The taste of the food was so bad that all four of us could not even eat our meals. To top it off, we were all running to the bathroom when we got home and felt miserable the whole night.

Also beware when they ask "what side you would like with your meal" and name all the choices, they purposely neglect to tell you that most all of their suggestions are EXTRA. They are trained to make it sound like it's simply part of your options.

And the service...forget about it. The only time we saw our waitress after the initial order was while she leaned up on the planter chatting with a single customer and looking at the tattoo of another employee. Other servers brought all of our food and I waited 20 minutes just to get my drink order.

I worked at Applebee's part-time recently. When you are told your choices of sides, they are not extra unless you order a side that is not on the option list. For example: you order a steak. You get to choose from broccoli, fries or baked potato. But if you wanted say, onion rings, which isn't on the option list, then yes, that is extra.

Applebee's management

I have been employed at the company for about four months. The place is very slow but so is our economy so I was thankful to have a job.I on average had about two hours of side work after making alot of times 15 dollars a shift.I picked up when ever they needed help and even did a bulletin board for them on off time. I paid for my food after watching many of thier experts eat free and do things they werent suppose to.I told them when they hired me my situation and how sometimes scheduling would be difficult.I was in court and my attorney was late causing me to miss work. However I called and got my shift covered.I was never called and told I was terminated.Insted the people I worked with were told and asked to pick up my shifts. She changed her story and handled things extremely wrong. It has hurt me badly. How could that be allowed.I am about to lose my house and we can hardly eat and I was never a bad employee.I worked hard and was a great server. There is more to my story but I hope someone can help with what has been wrongly done.

Applebee's lewd behavior

My husband and I actually had a pleasant meal at the Wallingford, CT Applebees. We ate, then paid our bill, and left. It was close to closing time when we left (almost 11pm) and we pulled out of our parking space and drove around the building to leave. Then we saw two employees in uniform (a man and a woman) near the dumpster. The man was standing and the woman was kneeling on the ground, performing oral sex on the man.

Frankly we were both shocked and nauseated. The next day I called the restaurant and reported it. Honestly, they did not seem to care. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Applebees!

I visited applebees on red road in el paso texas at 7:30pm and was told there would be a waiting time to be seated. I looked around and saw several tables open. I was told the section was closed and would still have to wait. I told the greeter that I was not going to wait and took my grandson and left went to GHILLI'S and ate. The attitude of the employees at applebees is terrible and they just don't care if one eats there or not. Well i can always find another establishment that will accept my mone. Goodby Applebees.

Applebee's poor food / poor service

Tough economy strikes Applebee's store #528 in Albuquerque, NM

I understand that on occasion a restaurant runs out of ingrediants to make items on their menu. Most will advise the patron of the situation and suggest an alternate choice. Not Applebee's. No, when out of BREAD let's just cut 1/2 of a bun in 1/4's and then serve up 3 of the 4 (smaller than bitesize morsels up and hit the customer for the full $8.

And NO THE SANDWICH SHOWN IN THE IMAGES WAS NOT ALTERED IN ANYWAY - IT IS SHOWN AS SERVED

Calisurfer, I blame management because SHE acknowledged that was THEIR solution for being out of bread. If I was in Applebee's management I would have suggested to my crew to 1) advise the customer prior to acceptance of the order 2) if the customer agreed to a change in the product, cut a regular sandwich in 1/3rds so that their was at least a reasonable appearance that the food served was of comparable quantity quality to that in the pictures. But to cut a sandwich into 1/8's and then serve up 3/8's of a sandwich and charge more than a soup/sandwich combo which would have at least been 1/2 sandwich is ridiculous.

As for Sheeyah, I am even more disappointed to see that Applebee's assigns people like you to monitor these blogs to try to point blame at the consumer rather than deal with the mismanagement themselves.

But REALLY thanks for your INPUT. I know they CHEATED me and by THEIR OWN ADMISSION that is THEIR POLICY so it reasons that they intentionally CHEAT everyone that doesn't call them to the carpet on it.

And I don't have a vendetta against anyone. Advising people to avoid ripoffs like the one that took place here is the point of this site. If it is clear that a policy is set that is harmful to all consumers what good does it do for one person to get their meal adjusted while the next people get the same poor food/service. If the Applebee's adjusts enough of these meals off the policy doesn't change .. THE PRICE GOES UP on everything else.

Fortunately, since I won't be back there again it will be fools like you that ### about the prices going up while you sit back and eat your free desert or your 1/2 price meal for the umpteenth time.

Update by JBT
Jul 06, 2009 1:03 pm EDT

I disagree completely. Having worked in food service a good part of my life, restaurant management always excuses themselves out with 'that person was just trying to get a free meal'. This was clearly a decision by management to short serve their clientele. Fixing the meal or two that they get called on while cheating everyone else is a bigger issue than me getting $8 bucks taken off my ticket. And yes, I even tipped the waitress as it wasn't her fault their management makes these decisions.

I wanted my point made loud and clear.
I was a paying patron;
I was cheated by their policy;
I was leaving their cooking staff the sample above so they could fully understand how they
represented their employer.

BTW .. this picture was taken prior to the meal being consumed. The other two 'pieces' and au jous were moved out of the way for the full effect of the comparison of the size of the french fry vs the 'slider'.

Update by JBT
Jul 06, 2009 11:04 am EDT

When the meal was served, I had the waitress invite her manager over to discuss the quality of the meal with me. The manager advised me that they had run out of the slider bread and that she would discuss the matter with their kitchen. At some point during the meal the waitress advised me that the manager was adjusting the bill.

I advised her that I wanted the bill to be left unadjusted as we were going to pay for the 2 slider meals as served. I also advised her that as an Applebee's manager who considered serving guests this meal as appropriate, she needed to advise her corporate office that the images of the experience were going to be posted on every blog site I knew of.

Maybe it was just a poor decision by someone (the manager, the cook, whomever). Maybe they weren't trying to cheat anyone.

The only blame I pointed at you was that you didn't take the offered restitution. I never said they didn't make a mistake. In fact, I first said I would've sent the food back.

I don't think I ever read you stating they said this was their policy. It may only have ever happened in this one location for all we know.

By your words, you do have a vendetta. Your reason is that you don't want the price to go up? You think that refunding order mistakes will cause a drastic price increase? Really? If it's not already built into their menu pricing it probably comes out of someone's pocket.

I doubt we are all fools just because you think you're right. And it's been extremely rare that I've ever had to send back a meal or get some kind of discount. You've made this to be a much bigger deal than it needed to be.

I agree with rrh. They admitted your meal wasn't appropriate and offered to make amends. The manager did exactly what she should've done. What're you complaining about? When something goes wrong and a business either corrects or offers to make up for the problem, that's good customer service. All you did was cheat yourself out of money.

So you got the food and complained. In order to try and make it right the manager was going to adjust the bill. But instead you said you didn't want it adjusted. You then appeared to eat the meal and still post a complaint. Interesting how you didn't put that they tried to make it right when you made your original complaint. I wonder what else you didn't say?

Applebee's awful service from bartender

Typically, I enjoy spending the evening at Applebees. The food is usually good, and the prices reasonable. Tonight, however, I must say I am strongly disappointed in the quality of service by one employee in particular at the Hackensack, NJ restaurant. The heavy-set bartender seemed quite ornery to begin with. I assumed she'd had a long day and proceeded to be polite with her.

The night went south from there. Being from Ohio, I had an out-of-state driver license. This bartender woman took one look at my ID and told me "if this is fake, I will have to confiscate it and call the police". Keep in mind, I am thirty-two years old, and I certainly don't look like a teenage kid with a fake ID. I told her she was welcome to call the authorities and double check, but she continued being rude, saying that the holograms looked off. This woman was not being polite at all; if she was really that put-off by my license, she could've double checked with another waitress.

Finally, I asked the woman to scan the ID, and of course information popped up.
While I understand there are rules bartenders must abide by, I did not appreciate being treated like a juvenile delinquent.

Applebees, please get rid of this woman.

Applebee's overcharging

My husband & I ate at our locale applebee's last saturday 5/30/09 — our bill was $26.# and we paid with our debit card. Later that day when we got home I went online to balance our checkbook — I discovered that applebee's had taken the $26.# out and $54.# out of our account. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager — he explained that the waiter had made a mistake and that they had voided it out — well she could have told us that before we left the restaurant and given us the void slip. The kicker is it is a week later and it still has not been released back into my account. The bank says that until they get the void it has to be held. So be careful using your debit card any where but make sure you check the bank if you use it at applebee's.

I know this is several years later since this post, but obviously Applebee's pattern of cheating customers is still going on. I ordered food on 9-16-18, and my bill was $32.86 and I added a tip of $3.00 which should have been $35.86. when I checked my credit card the next day, they took $39.43, a difference of $3.57. I called the restaurant the next day, and was told the manager was not in but I would get a call back 2 days later. 2 days later, no call back. I just checked my credit card again, and now all of a sudden the charges are what they should be. Called the restaurant again and was told all of their records matched what I should have been charged. They could not explain how the original deduction was different, and of course "the manager is not in but will call you back tomorrow". There is obviously something wrong with this company, especially if the same deception "computer errors" is still going on 9 years later. This is a scam by the company banking on maybe 7 or 8 out of 10 people won't notice? A nice chunk of change in their pockets for sure.

Applebee's poor management

My family and I went to applebees in orem utah. The meal was fine and the services was fine. When the meal was ready to be paid for, the manager (Sullivan picard) came to the table and told me I needed to pay another way. He was holding my debit card in his hand. I asked him if my card was declined and he told me I was not "privy" to that information. I told him I most certainly was because it was my card. He would not offer any explanation. I asked over and over what the problem was and he would not tell me. I then reached out to get my card and he jumped back and yelled and caused a scene. I told him he needed to give me my card or I will call the police. So I called the police and they came. They got me my card back and the card was not declined. I think sullivan was trying to steal from me or at best use his authority at applebees to be an a$hole. After multiple complaints to applebees for his conduct.. I was told it was a simple misunderstanding and mr picard is sorry... I am not pressing civil charges against him and applebees. Applebees offered me a coupon for a free dinner, but I will never return. Watch out for sullivan picard. He is a con artist at best!

Being a con artist will only cause people to never go back there. Businesses who think they can thrive off of crookedness and corruption are fools.

Personally, I will never go back to "CRAPPLEBEE"S: because they don't give you much food for your money(well at least here in canada anyways).

The fact of the matter is corporate restaurants like Applebees are purely about cheap food and long hours. They feel that by staying open later and offering food at lower prices will make up for their lack of quality. These are the same restaurants that ship in their food pre-made and frozen and tell their servers to emphasize turning tables rather then good service and customer indulgence. However, they hurt their business by offering low quality food and sub-par service while hurting their employees by not training them to provide quality service that will improve their sales and their tip precentage. If quality is what you want, I suggest you go out to eat less often and go to a restaurant where the menu prices might not be as cheap, but where quailty food and service are available. Chili's is a good place for more frequent eating, and outback provides excellent service for a casual setting, and now they're more affordable. In short, find a restaurant that does most of their prepwork in house. You'll find fresher ingredients, better quality food, and a management and service staff that knows how to run a restaurant.

BTW, we all know Jason is a loser but you are no better. I also stand correct, Louis did post on this board. Zachary did not. Incase you did not notice the people you are harassing they ignored you yet you still spread lies about them. Why isn't shoelady monitoring what you post?

Tracy, Tracy, Tracy, my friend. You are so narrow minded. You think that everyone that disagrees with you is one person. This way your low self esteem is not affected so much because you think only one person is against you. Well, we all all seperate people. Most adults know how to type a professional letter. Now maybe if you went to see psychologist you would not think that everyone is after you. You are the fool. In one post you say that you have EVERYONE's email address, home location, parents names, ect, ect and in another you say that everyone is the same person. Well my friend you are wrong. Your "mother" is wrong. You expect us to believe that everyone is lying but you. Exactely how low is your self esteem that you have to make yourself believe this. Also when asked for proof claim the letter does not exict. The letter in question was written by you. You asked the letter deleted to get rid of the proof that it was you in the wrong. Everyone here knows this. So stop these little games will you. Also some reading lessons will be good for you because neither Louis nor Zachary posted on this thread. You must have very low self esteem to pick on a ten year old and spread lies about him.

Louis/zachary

I am shoelady's daughter. You need a bath and a mouth washed out with soap for the lies you tell.

He did cite obscenities about me and her on a thread and you can't read anyway, so why are you even here? Didn't we tell you to get lost?

You said most adults don't type in caps? I beg to differ, because most do type in caps when they're angry and this person sounds angry. If you had half the knowledge my mom and I do, you'd be getting better grades in school and not getting left back.

Jason quit high school. We all know he can't spell or form original ideas. He is a loser. Don't follow his example.

Jason,

This person is an adult. I know because a child would not word a letter that way. You think everyone is a child, me and Tracy, etc. You are the only child I see here today. What are you doing for summer vacation? Didn't you get a job? Try Sonic! LOL I hear you can make a lot of little tips there if you don't return the change! LOL!

UGH!

Shut up Troll Jason, take a hike. When you turn 18 you can talk to adults, until then, go away with the underage juvies on this site. Go join facebook or something where people can relate to you. Man you are one f'g annoying gnat!

You're right Applebees sucks in most southern states. They hire people like jason to cook the food poorly.. 17 year old flunkies.

If you're going to splurge on $80 dinners, at least go to Longhorns. They have better food. Ruby Tuesday is no better than Applebees. We quit going there a while back. They're really getting coolie labor in these places. Most are illegals, so don't forget that.

Applebee's racist display

Why is it that Applebees completely overlooked the placement of a "wooden indian" inside its entrance at this location? If it was a statue of a "black" jockey or such, it would smack of racism.
I wonder if they ordered up 100's of these for all their Applebees? Amazing, we have Obama in office, yet the Native American is totally ignored. Shame, shame, shame.

I believe what you are referring to is a 'totem pole'.
So every single cultural item on display is secretly a racial slur?
Therefore all Asian, Mexican, Italian and other cultural decorations should be torn down and replaced with..say the American Flag.

It's not a statue of an Indian man trading his land for a piece of lint.
Stop looking for something to piss about.

CommonSense,

You better watch out. Man running horse is going to do a rain dance and flood you out of your house. While you're trying to escape the rising waters, he will gallop by and scalp you.

You don't want that, do you?

You should take some time to make it up the native americans. Perhaps you can just visit a casino.

Applebee's bloody steak!

Went to Applebee's on Valentine's day 2009; and the evening started out well. We only had to wait a few minutes to be seated and the server was prompt in coming to our table. My husband and I ordered an appetizer which was also delivered promptly so all was going rather well up to receiving our entrees...which was steak. My husband's came cooked nicely as ordered, medium. Mine on the other hand was "bleeding" when I cut into it besides the fact that it looked like it had been sitting on the plate for quite a while. I called our server to the table and she took the steak back to be "replated and cooked". By the time it was returned to our table my husband was more than 1/2 done with his food, (I'd told him go ahead and eat so his food wouldn't get cold) and I cut into this steak to find it was BLOODY just like the last one! By this time I was sick at my stomach, mostly due to aggravation, and ready to get out of this pitiful excuse for a restaurant. I told her I didn't want to return my food for a third "round" of cooking, just forget it! She came back later and asked if we wanted to order dessert! LOL After being told "no not if it was like their steaks", we got our check, paid, and left. They took the steak off the bill, but added back the two sides I didn't eat. I sent a complaint to their feedback email address but don't expect to get a reply. Oh, yes, just an added FYI, the manager never once came to our table as is usual in most restaurants. Needless to say we won't be going there again and more than likely won't go to another Applebees.

I went to a Applebee's today for lunch and ordered a steak dinner med rare and it came out well done, then whe they took it back and brought me another one it was completely rare cold in the middle. The third time they brought it out to me it seemed to be cooked to temp. But it was rubbery and did not taste like a steak, the texture was all wrong. It kind of tasted like togu. I don't know what Applebee's thinks they are serving to there customers but it is not steak. I think that someone should investigate the Quality of meat that they are serving. $12.99 for a rubbery piece of tofu is not ok with me.

Applebee's service

I'm going to make a long story short that happened on 02-14-09. Ordered 2 steak dinners, 1st time they came out sides were wrong. 2nd time they came out steaks and sides were wrong. The 3rd time they came out, sides were still wrong and the server brouht out same steaks for the third time. You can guess by the 4th time I was not a very unhappy camper, so when our order finally arrived
for the 4th time the manager came to our table, said he was sorry and would see us before we were through eating{ha ha}.Finally after an hour long ordeal, we could eat our supper with fresh steaks. WRONG our steaks and sides were wrong so we switched steaks with each other. No, we never saw the manager again and will not go back there or any Applebees.WE should have gone to Outback Steak House like we had planned and wait for a table.

Applebee's service

Husband took me there for lunch on a wedding anniversary date. Waited 20 min. to have anyone come around to take an order. Waintress said "sorry guys for the wait" without even looking at us. She wrote the order wrong. Husband was brought something he didn't order, even though I heard him tell her exactly what he wanted, and he had even pointed to it on the menu. My meal was cold by the time his order came, which was still not what he ordered, but we just let it go, since we were hungry and tired of waiting. Waitress again just said "sorry guys" without looking at us. She brought bill with wrong order and amount and took a long time fixing it. Again, "sorry guys" without looking at us or any inflection in her voice of actually meaning it. We will not go there again.

After church on 20 July 2008, my wife and I stopped at Applebees on the way home as we usually do and went inside where there were about five people ahead of us all in one family. The servers were all over the place and I began to think we were invisable. One of the servers picked up about 5 menus and silverware for 5 and took off. He didn't tell the people to follow me or anything else. We stayed about 5 more minutes and said to heck with that and went up the street to OCharles where we were promtly seated and food on the table in just a few minutes. We have gone to Applebees many time but not more. I do not like being treated that way by anyone.

The worst service ever at applebees on kirkwood het i wilmington delaware the waitress was snobby, she never gave my three year old son his food and argued that she gave it to me and that I was not going to get anything for free I've been to a lot of restaurants and never been this mistreated and the manager was no help she was very rude. So I paid for food that wasn't giving out and top the whole situation of she said I didnt pay and I find out that the waitress gets fired for stealing I got banned fr eating there and my money was stolen. Horrible.

Wow, give them a break. It sounds like they were especially busy. If you are not going back to them because of this one MINOR bad experience, that is pretty petty on your part. You only waited for 5 minutes. Wow, I just have to say wow. If you are upset about something like this...sorry the world isn't perfect for you and your wife. Maybe you should have gone back to church and have another sermon by the preacher of how to think of others before yourselves.

Applebee's false advertising

After eating at the Applebees on Southland Mall numerous times. My wife and I noticed an add on TV regarding 2 meals for $20.00. We checked on their website and saw the add posted their too. We choose our meals and placed the call for pick. The person that answered the phone told us they were no longer offering this deal. My wife told them that they should remove it from their website, and since we were hungry we ordered something else that came out to almost $40.00 for 2. We let it slide until again the next day we saw the same add on TV. I don't understand how this can be done. Is their something that can be done to stop these people from scamming the public? We will never eat at Applebees again, and I hope this helps others in choosing a better restaurant.

I also saw this add on tv, verified that the santa clarita applebees had it on their website, two -three hours later went in and was told that they would not honor the addvertised special, 2/$20.I with my girlfriend and small child spent with tip about $45.I contacted applebees and a manager contacted me, gave me no explanation for this but offered me a $25 certificate .I have not received it as of today.I sent another e mail to applebees yesterday 1/6/09, and am waiting for a responce.I think it's clear that they had never intended to honor a natioinbally advertised special, it appears that they just wanted to get peoiple into the restaurant, as the server mentioned that several other people had complained about the inability of management to honor this special.
