poor service / attitude
I arrived at the Quakertown Pa., Applebee's with a group of at least 12 other persons and were seated in the area towards the bar.
We waited for at least 15 minutes with no service or even acknowledging that we were there. When I left our table and approached an employee to speak with the manager he mentioned that they were only allowed to seat people and could not wait on them. Within a few minutes the manager came to our table. When I questioned him about the lack of service, he made it quite clear that we had a waitress and she will get to us when she gets to us. Eventually the waitress did come over and take our order. I am quite disappointed over the crappy attitude of the manager who is supposed to be the person running the show. If you do not want to do that type of work then find another job! I am very reluctant to visit an more Applebee's restaurants in the future - especially the one located in Quakertown Pa. I do not know the owners of this individual restaurant but if they condone the poor attitude and lack of enthusiasm exhibited by their employees then they should not be surprised when they go out of business.

service and food
The service was terrible. We got our drinks after awhile but the mamager had to come over and tell the lady that is at the door to bring our drinks. Then later we got out oinon rings ask 4 diferent people if we could get ranch dressing then the cleaning lady is the one that brought it to us she heard us ask serveral people for it. So when we got it the onion rings where cold. Then on our salad we got one with just lettuce no tomatoes or nother else. One was good. When we did finally get out steak they where good but had vegtables on the plate and we had ordered mashed potatoes. It took over a hour to finally get everything.

terrible service
My family and I enjoy the food and atmosphere at Applebees. We are regular patrons (several times weekly). The management in the past was a women named Marcia Krebs. She was very pleasant and personable. She was always out on the floor talking with and checking on coustomers, their food, and service. We were very sad to see Marcia go. Since then there have...

Tonight was the worst night ever at Applebee's. It was Thursday which was karaoke night. I understand people having fun but when they are unruly, rude, loud and just well I had my tennage daughter with me and a friend. The people next to us were African American. They were loud and rude as hell. Well before we were able to leave they begin flashing around a DILDO ( sex toy). Well I'm pretty sure if that's what my kids are gonna see in Applebee's restaurant, we will NEVER go back. I'm ashamed that a company or a manager of a business would allow such stupidity in a store. I wasted around $50.00 in that place tonight and the food was not all that great either... Sorry for your loss of business. Renee Smith [protected]
Oh, dear, the coloreds were gettin' all uppity at the next table!
Well, bless your heart, you just know the South is gonna rise again, darlin'!
waitress and manager
Awful waitress and manager. My husband and I never get to go to dinner. He is home once a month. He asked the waitress for a draft beer- blue moon and Sam Adams mixed. She answered with her nasty attitude that "we don't do that here". The manager came over and he was an even bigger idiot. Bad attitude and ignorant staff. They could have been nice when explaining that they don't mix the beers. Thanks Applebee's.

quality of food not the same
We used to love eating here - good food and service. The service is still great but the quality of food has gone down hill. It may be just the cook on duty at the time but the past two times, I have been disappointed. If they can't cook a proper (and simple dish) get a new cook. The chicken Alfredo was dry and awful. Noodles were mixed with a packaged seasoning but no milk was added! YUCK Then about 3 months later, I thought I'd try the BLT. How can anyone make a bad BLT at $8+ a sandwich? Applebees, that's who. The bread was OK but too thick imo and the bacon wasn't crispy. It was half cooked (probably microwaved) and I left most of it on the plate. We used to stop there on our way to the movies so there was no time to send the food back during these two episodes. Never again. We can cook better and less expensive food at home. For that matter, a hamburger from Braums down the street is 100% better.

food and wait
I went to the restaruant to meet friends for lunch there was a total of 8 people, we had to wait 20 minutes for them to set up a table
then water came we placed drink orders and appetizers, 15 minutes later he brought the appettizers no drinks, waited another 10 minutes for drinks, ice tea, and sodas, then we ordered our food we waited 40 minutes for our food and they were not busy, standing around talking to each other. 4 of the orders were wrong. we were there over 2 hours and still did not get decent service and we either ate seperately or just told them to give us take out boxes. working people can not wait that long for service and louzy food.
we will not go back and feel we should be compensated for getting mixed up orders, cold food and 4 of us got docked an hours pay for being late in returning to work.
soliciting calls
Email said to answer questions about your favorite appetizer and get a $25 gift card to Applebees. The survey was asking if you would like to get quotes for different services and companies which I clicked on the No did not need one. I had to put a phone number in to get a code for the coupon; which then I received text from some psychic service which I had to cancel. I have received numerous phone calls since then from all these services saying I requested info online. I don't appreciate all the unwanted calls or them collecting my number for this purpose.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I didn't know yesterday how invasive the telephone calls would be. I'm glad I didn't give them my cell number. About 25 calls in past 24hrs, I only answered a couple and they told me I had CHOSEN to be contacted, which is NONSENSE, because I answered NO to everything. My email box, meanwhile has received no less than 50 junk offers, saying "thanks for signing up" etc. The cost to gmail, hotmail, yahoomail, etc. is astronomical, can't believe they haven't rounded up these folks and put them in jail, they are sitting on Madison Avenue, getting richer by harrassing consumers!
racist applebees waitresses & managers
The recent lawsuit was resolved through a Consent Decree filed with the U.S. District Court in Atlanta that sets forth the terms of the settlement (Case No. 1:02-CV-829). In addition to the monetary relief for Mr. Burch, the Consent Decree requires training and reporting by Applebee's. Prior to the lawsuit, Applebee's did not have a written policy in effect at any of its nationwide restaurants prohibiting discrimination based on race. Applebee's now has amended its mistreatment and discrimination policies to include color as a protected basis in accordance with Title VII. In both its Answer to the lawsuit and in the Consent Decree, Applebee's admitted liability or wrongdoing. The employees all mistreat and discriminate against each other, and set up new minority employees to get fired, staff do not wash their hands, restaurant managers are rude & have attitude problems, employees using racial slurs, food poisoning cases, the health inspector fails the restaurant many times, the servers are often lazy, inexperienced, & rude! I will not ever eat or work there again!
substandard service vs racism

We waited approx. 15 minutes for a server, when (P) arrived she reported that it was her first day, her assignment was on the other side of the room not at our assigned...

My husband and I went into your establishment about 3pm today and left at 6. The waitress was fine at first we received our appetizer then ordered our main corse. When it arrived, my husbands meal was fine however mine was totally wrong. I really didn't mind waiting for my meal to again be brought to me . About 20 minutes later the waitress walked over and totally forgot that my order was still not in front of me. another 10 or 15 minutes later the manager came with my food, a steak ---- not cooked enough at all so he brought it back to the cook and another 5 minutes went by and the steak was so tough i actually had no appetite and just wanted to go, butt my husband wanted to finish his coffee so I asked the waitress for a cup of coffee and 5 mints later she brought him a fresh cup and me none . There's much more detaile I could go into, but I'm tired
I will not be returning !
geeze barb you need help fast!
Exactly, and i told my husband that if he ever takes me out to applebees again I will divorce him and tell my son ten year old son to say he beats him and me so he does not get to see our son ever. Though he won't be stupid enough to go back there.
food
Today 1-12-13 my friend and I went to applebees for lunch. Hadn't been there in about 7 months. Because I have been on a diet.. I ordered what I have always gotton, chicken qsa grande. I was shocked. Price had gone up to 9.39. And that is too high, for starters, and my qsa hardly had anything beween them. All I got was crust, when you opened to look inside, it wasn't much in them., like then just put a drop and that was it. I wasn't happy when I left there. Price needs to be lower and they need to take more pride in fixing them. Not a happy person right now. 13.29 and came out hungery. Linda jarrett, 173 noel ave, danville, va. 24541 ps, the reason I did not complain in resturant, is I have heard bad stories of peole sending food back, and I ain't about to do that.

Sounds like the posters big ego was hurt and has to resort to name calling to make himself feel better. Shame on you! You are nothing but a bully, sir.
This is ###, Melissa is a very good bartender. She is one of Applebee's best! Kind, caring and a very good applebuddy. Our store is very lucky to have her. There are only a few that go above and beyond and melissa is one of them...
Who ever wrote this if I was melissa I would sue you for slander...

mistreating employees
I've seen how badly they treat their best employees, mainly firing black workers for little to no reason, while the white managers/employees get away with negligent or criminal business practices, and harassing customers who complain about their often lousy food or horrible customer service. Applebee's in aiken, loves to rehire or keep employed degenerates, incompetent managers, bad employees, and racist #.. One waiter who was working there, was assaulted by two drunk customers, when the employees told the manager working that night, he told them - he wasn't going to do anything about it or stand up for the waiter, so after being assualted again, the waiter called the police for help, and the applebee's manager fired him, and asked the customers to stay, and refused to kick them out of the restaurant! This is the kind of establishment, that gives the restaurant business a bad name. I've stopped eating there, because of the crappy food, raising up food costs to customers, and the misconduct of how applebee's treats their good employees. Which is why employee turnover has remain so high there and at other applebee restaurants, across the country...

I am a single parent to two children. It is a special occassion when we are able to afford to go out to eat.
I saved up and was able to take my children, 9, & 17 out to eat, when we went to applebees... I ordered pasta and shrimp[it was very cold and tasted like it was sitting around for a while and heated up in the microwave.
My oldest daughter got a steak, rice, and broccoli[she said her rice was hard, and cold.]
My youngest was pretty happy with her food. And when I complained I got an attitude from the waitress and a big 'sigh'. Nothing was fixed.
I was hoping applebees would fix this... I cannot afford to take my family out that much, and I feel they could and should fix this. Thank-you
I think applebees

So email the company and complain. I had horrible service at our local one and they send me free food vouchers to for each person that was in my party that day. Not only was our waitress rude, but she took a double tip off my debit card! Complain, believe it or not, they will listen.
poor service/food and rude
We went to the apple bees on Harper Raod in Bekcley WV. We had a party of eight. We stood at the door for over fifteen minutes without being asked anything. That should have been our first clue to the rest of the visit. When we were finally seated three servers pasted us to wait on people that came in after us. when a server finally came over to us she took our drink order and it was another fifteen minutes until we got our drinks. We ordered our food and it was over an hour wait. We didnt get everything that we ordered and the seak that they gave my son was smaller then the A-1 bottle bottom. My order of mash potatoes was about a tea spoon full and my chicken had maybe a tea spoon full of gravey on it. the table across from us had great looking food because they announced that they owned a resturant. They were fussing about a stinking mixed drink and got so much attention that it wasnt funny. I called the manager Beth over. She was rude and didnt even act like I had a complaint. I told her that we didnt get some of the food she said well i will take it off the bill. What more do you want. I said welll Id like the food that I ordered and I would like it to be eatiable. she would not listen she smarted me off and flipped her pony tail in my face and told me that they done a lot more business then the apple bees that I had mentioned to her. She clearly doesnt need to be in the manager spot with this company. We had a ;arge party and was there for over three hours trying to get our food. We had a ten month old and a three year old so you can only imagine what it was like. The food was poor the service was terrible and the manager was so rude. I would never go back to that place. When I called the following day to report our experience i still wasnt satisfied. It was like they did not care about their customers. I will stick with my applebees in lewisburg wv. oh forgot to mention NO refills even when we requested several times.

manager customer mistreatment
On Monday, March 5th, 2012, friends and family visited the Applebees at 3447 Donnell Dr, Forestville, MD 20747. Upon the delivery of the beverage order to the table, the waitress, who stated she was technically off the clock, wasted drinks and liquid on me and another patron. I asked the waitress did she plan to provide us something for our discomfort and was told we should be fine. I asked was a manager available. The waitress never provided me the information for the manager, nor did she contact the manager to address my concerns. The waitress laughed about the situation as if we should just get over it. She never left to seek management; however, eventually, the manager happened to stop by our table.
I explained to the manager, Brad, that both I and the gentleman seated to my left had been drenched with spilled drinks. Brad provided an apology to which I inquired was there any other accommodation to be provided to both me and to other patron who was also soaking wet after the drinks were spilled. The manager, Brad, then told me he could have me thrown out of the restaurant. I was completely appalled and in shock. I had done nothing but express my dissatisfaction at being drenched by spilled drinks. Brad then blatantly lied and stated that I had cursed/cussed at him. I was totally shocked and in awe. I had never uttered a cuss/curse word to Mr. Brad. I then asked the manager, Brad, for the regional manager’s information. He stated he would provide it. Shortly after this encounter, I witnessed the manager, Brad, speaking to someone about the incident. I though he may have been speaking to a higher level manager and asked if the gentleman, the manager, Brad, was speaking to was also a manager. After asking this question, I observed that the jacket that was worn by the gentleman Brad was speaking to may have been a shield. I then inquired, was the gentleman a police office. The gentleman was from the Baltimore City Sheriff’s office although the AppleBees is located in Prince George’s County Maryland. The officer, Deputy Burnett of the Baltimore city sheriff’s office came to the table and inquired about the incident. It was quite obvious that Deputy Burnett had already formed a biased opinion of the situation based on the information that had been provided by Brad, the manager. Deputy Burnett asked me what had occurred. I proceeded to explain to him the exact information that has been stated in the previous paragraphs of this document. I also stated that the manager, Brad, had blatantly lied about my use of profanity. Not once, did I use any derogatory or profane words. From my observation it is quite obvious that the manager, Brad, is used to threatening individuals who visit this Applebees location, as I was threatened. If a customer complains about the service, Brad can threaten the customer and speak to the officer providing security. If the customer does not “just get over it” (a mishap or adverse situation from the waitress staff), the customer will be threatened and/or thrown out.
This was not my first visit to this Applebees location. The same group of family and friends has visited this location on several occasions and normally spends a minimum of one hundred dollars if not two hundred dollars or more. As I was speaking to Deputy Burnett and expressing my dissatisfaction with the manager, Brad’s, behavior and the fact that this same type of behavior would not be displayed or accepted to/by customers in the neighboring Applebees’ restaurants in northern and southernVirginia as well as other counties of Maryland outside of Prince George’s County, Brad stated, “don’t come back, we don’t want your kind here anyway.” “We don’t want customers like you here.” Who are the customers like me, the patrons who support and spend money within the local community instead of taking our money to nearby Virginia, Montgomery County Maryland and the District of Columbia? Who are these customers who are college educated customers looking for a peaceful evening enjoying the company of family and friends? The manager, Brad, is a disgrace to the Applebees company. He has a very abrupt, rude manner of talking to and dealing with the customers and he feels that he can say anything and treat the customer in any manner and get away with it. As for me and our group, Applebee’s does not have to worry about me every returning to this location. My one, two, three hundred dollars can be spent somewhere else.
A witness statement from a couple of the customers who were present and witnessed the encounter between me and the manager, Brad is being sent to the Donnell Drive location, the regional manager and the corporate headquarters. Also, I would like to complain about Deputy Burnett coming to the table and asking me to lower my voice when I was speaking in the same normal tone that he was. The issue was more that I was discussing with the table the incident and timeline of events as they happened with the manager, Brad.
It is a very sad day when customers can be bullied by a manager and the manager feels he can say anything, lie on a customer and he is untouchable.
If my experience today is a reflection of how Applebees operates, I doubt any feedback from Applebees will be received.

You should get a job in a restaurant to learn how things work. My guess is, you arrived just behind another group, and the kitchen staff was already behind in filling orders. The manager was probably working hard to get things caught up, when interrupted to come listen to your complaint. If you have a large group, you should notify the manager ahead of time, so it might be possible to ask an employee or two to come early or stay late. Instead of complaining, you should spend time thanking God that you have been so blessed with wealth that you never need to do real work, cooking, washing dishes, or waiting tables for tips.
