Ask.com requested professional dental advice from professional dentist dds

Went on Just Ask site, earlier, in order to get some advice/suggestions, about how to handle a painful dental problem, which occurred, over the weekend. Not only, did they not put me in touch, with a dentist, but, when they were unable to do that, they did not address my request, for a $22 refund, to my PayPal account.

Can you, please, assist us, in getting back our $22 Q&A fee? It was indicated to us, there would be a full refund, if not satisfied...we got, absolutely, NO information!

Ask.com account

Used Ask for a long time now and I'm 100% sure I haven't done anything wrong, but for some reason I got blocked! No matter how many times I tried to reach Ask customer support they did not reply. I would like to hear some explanations what did I do wrong and why they blocked me from using their site! I still have no access to it.
I'm very disappointed with Ask, loved this service but what they did is absolutely ridiculous!

Ask.com shady website that hijacks browser, redirects searches

Beware of ask.com! Its a nasty, buggy site, hijacks your browser, replaces default/, rediorects searches!

Read how I fixed it, permanently, with blocksite extension and join me in spreading the dirty truth about them!

For the last week, or so, ask.com hijacked my chrome browser, ousted google search and crowned itself, my default search engine! Its been the must insufferable intrusion, ever, on my laptop. First, I went to internet options and changed it back to google. I thought I was done with it, but later that day, it returned... On a grander scale — a total and hostile coup and obliteration of google! When it first appeared, it shared the search bar with previous google search results, I recognized... This time, it was all ask;! When I typed in google search, and click on google, i'd end up on ask, talking about google search!

System restore didn't do it, so I thought it might have been the aol program I downloaded, days before... I uninstalled and re installed. It came back the next day — with google search result in its list of searches. I googled how to remove it, and went into search engine option in settings, changed default to google, removed ask and the many others on a list of 'other' search engines... I was certain this would do it for sure, this would do it... Nope! This time, it was gone just 20 mins! So I uninstalled and tried to re install google chrome, but for hours couldn't — got a msg that the the download was blocked bcos something was missing... Eventually, I restored old one. I repeated the steps and cruised google forum for a permanent solution... Just as I began to try some new measures, it occurred to me to try an extension I added from google last night — blocksite.. I simply typed in ask.com, clicked add, then typed ask.com on my search bar... Voila! Blocked! It took a total of two minutes! I do not appreciate the many precious hours I spent on this! I feel google and other browsers should do something about this!

So.. Ask. Con likes being asked questions — so much, its directs search engine traffic from other browsers, aye? If you've had this problem, I ask you to join me and write ask.com why they're hijacking other search engines,, what if anything, they intend to do about it. I myself will demand that they change their name to ask. Con, for their shady and malicious (blocking me from downloading chrome) intrusion i'm sure they know about it, and do nothing bcos we the people, do nothing! I'm also going to post this on complaints.com. Please join me! — ask ask.com to stop this nonsense! Since no govt agencies will ever stoop to getting to the bottom of this, let's put them on notice, that we, the people are taking matters into our hands, by going public and alerting others about to take preventive measures!
The truth is, things like this thrive because, we allow it. We've all done this during the crisis, most of us want to write and give that so and so a piece of our minds... Till its over... We get busy, and over time, we just shrug it off, till next time — because we all shrugged it off. Off. I'm not shrugging this off. One thing that even the biggest corporations on earth can never beat is the wrath of a disgruntled consumer, who posts their dirty laundry on the www! Regardless of the merit of the post — the negative complaint will always come up in searches for that company. These days, we needn't go to 60 minutes to expose shady businesses — each of us has the power, with a few clicks. The power of just a handful of people, united in frustration over anything, is quite formidable — even if all they do is write letters.

Sure, one complaint might get attention, but if its true that one letter, complaint, call by a consumer is equivalent to 100, or 1000; i'm not sure... Don't quote me. Imagine the impact of 5 to 10, people, like us, now — united by this negative experience with ask.com. — writing directly to said company and posting a copy of their complaints or experience on a consumer-powered site, where fed up, unsatisfied unpaid, consumers — not paid actors, complain, warn others, when those we do business with, fail to deliver as promised. This is the cyber age, when anyone can disseminate any information to the world, in seconds.. We, the consumers have the power to change the way we are treated.
Let's tell the world about companies that fall short of their promises, or engage in underhanded mischief — like ask.com, that could threaten our privacy and livelihoods. This annoying distraction cost me money because my laptop is my entire business, office — everything... It crashed twice when I couldn't reinstall google chrome and was down for the better part of 2 days!

If you write to ask, or post on complaintsboard, please, posst a copy, of it as a reply to my post. Thanks!

Ask.com false promise to make refunds

I got amateurish answers to my questions, not polished professional-sounding answers. The offer to refund is bogus because the site makes you first commit to a battery of "do-overs" with supposed "other experts" until hopefully you will simply "accept the answer" just to get out of the site. There is no clean exit to the site if you don't like the answers or want to bargain on the price. The only way out is to haphazardly close the browser without accepting.

I made a good faith deposit on my credit card to this company. The answer I received did not help. I e-mailed customer support and ask for refund. They said my card would be refunded in 5-7 days. It has still not be refunded and no one will answer my e-mails. Its sad because I used this site before and was very satisfied but I will never use again.

Ask.com spam

I started to register with the website so that I could try and get an important health question answered online to try and avoid scheduling a doctor's visit the following day for my infant. I had to enter all my personal information and I actually sent them my top secret, personal, non spammed email account address. The last screen ask how much I was willing to pay. I decided to just pay my doctor instead so I canceled the registration. Next day the website sent me a reminder to ask me how much I would pay to get the question answered. They saved my information even when I did not complete the registration. Next thing I know, I am getting all types of spam and viruses. Another email account to abandon!

Ask.com not giving answer

I have been trying to get some feedback on captcha. This is a code which was developed to prevent computerized answers to sweepstakes. The idea is that a computer cannot understand weird forms of letters and numbers. Only humans can understand. Well, I don't understand. You are supposed to copy what is written in the block and my answer is never right. I read a little about it and it seems that each letter or number have a coded meaning. How do you get the rules. That was my question. I can't tell any more and if I could, I wouldn't have contacted a JustAsk expert.

I tried to explain this to their customer service on line and their answer was "this cannot be answered." There doesn't seem to be any other way to reach them that I could see. They said it would be $14.00 per month per year but you could cancel if you said you were not satisfied within 30 days . I wasn't satisfied within 30 minutes. I doesn't seem they want to answer anything.

I was about to enquire about my wife's cancer (stage 4) I was requested to provide a $35.00 VISA payment in advance stating that will be refunded IF THE REPLY WAS SATISFACTORY..
It sounded good and I trusted THE WRITTEN WORDING. After all Medical Doctors would not be involved in FRAUD!. I was mistaken. My request remained unaswered, but my VISA account was charged $ 35.00/
I thought there was a Law to protect people from massive fauds on the web similar to this one. If anyone reading this knows of such authority where a complaint could be lodged, please send me a note to: juvi1946@gmail.com /attention Victor./ I would really appreciate some guidlines concerning this or similar scams. As for the benefit of all of us these practices have to be stopped !

I gues anyone who wishes to have advice on medical matters better find a REAL LIVE MD instead of throwing money away for such fraud.
Thank you for reading my brief.

Ask.com beware of ask.com

Beware of ask.com, if you use them they may install a program on your computer that constantly redirects websites you are viewing to ask.com. It seems to be a very hard program to get rid off. I have spent hours trying to figure out how to get it off my computer with no success. Some sites I can not even view because it keeps being redirected to ask.com. Very frustrating. I recommend you stick with reputable search engines such as google, bing or yahoo.

Horrible hijacking [censored]! Not only did they take over my Firefox, they removed any possibility of using any other search engine. Speaking of Firefox, shouldn't they be able to fend off an attack like this? I mean, I know I probably unknowingly downloaded it but for Firefox to allow this evil to remove other search engines and disable controls in my preferences, wow seems like they should be able o prevent that sort of thing.

On October 17, 2012 I contacted a website called Ask.com to find out information regarding a “Kindle” book reader. I was charged $30.00 on my debit card from Ask.com for their assistance. This item was given to me by a friend and I was attempting to change the owners information from her to myself. This included her e-mail address as well as her billing address. I wanted everything changed over to myself so I could order books, etc. The person I was dealing with seemed to have no idea as to how to resolve this problem. He finally told me to go to a McDonalds, eat an egg McMuffin and use their WIFI. As I have my own WIFI (I am using it right now), I did NOT go to McDonalds. I feel he just didn’t know how to help me but the $30.00 had already been applied to my bank account. I would like a total refund as this was a complete waste of time. Please help!

It's pretty good, as compared to some other search engines I've tried. However, it can't hold a candle to Google. I've found it to be particularly lacking in terms of pictures. Google should definitely be your 1st choice.

How does one start a class action lawsuit against ask.com. I would like to find out, then maybe they will make it much easier to remove from your computer. I am going to start looking into how to do that.

On Thursday 16 February a group of me and my friends had a meal at Ask Italian in welwyn garden city to celebrate my birthday. Firstly in previous times I have been to this restaurant to find it very busy, but on thursday not the case. We booked thinking we would need to. Placing our order, the waiter said there was items on the menu which they did not have. When finally our meals arrived the portions were very very small, lack of sauce. Staff were also not helpful and obliging with the wine selection. One of my friends ordered lasagne it had no meat filling.Waiters tried to say that this restaurant is in process of being refurbished which is a way to explain their lack of customer service and satisfaction to the public. I feel that some kind of compensation or goodwill gesture is owed to me.

Ask.com is a hijacking piece of s--t, not only does it hijack your web browser but it takes hours to get rid of this piece crap. If your browser (Ask.com) is so bad that you have to hijack your way into a persons computer its time to though it in the toilet and start again. To all the good people out there that have had the misfortune of running into this piece of s--t after updating your Firefox browser, just uninstall Firefox and all your saved settings (for Firefox) and then go to the internet and download a new installation of Firefox . But do not I repeat DO NOT import anything from other browsers like microsoft Internet Explorer, because the piece of s--t (Ask) will hide in the saved settings there, Please excuse the rant but I've had it with crap like Ask.

Ask.com unathorised charge to credit card

I decided to use the service and before accepting the information was told it would cost £10.00 but that I would get a discount for being a new memeber. I foolishly agreed and expected £9.90 to be charged to my card. My statement has come through today and I've been charged £20.00 - its extremely difficult to try and contact them and don't imagine for one minute I'll ever get this back - the site should be closed down as they're deceiving users and fraudlently taking money from them.

Ask.com homepage petulance!

I sometimes do upgrades for people and some are not computer literate. When they use ask.com, it continues to attempt making themselves the computers home page. They don't know how to remove it and I feel too embarrassed to charge someone for 5 secs. Of configuration. These sites do this knowing that some people aren't able to lose them. It's costs people lots of money. Not fair to the consumer.

They have a membership with cancellation within 7 days. I joined on the 15th and called 7 days later on the 22nd to cancel. They charged me $50 on the 22nd saying it was 8 days from the 15th because they count the 15th as the first day. They would not let me talk to a manager, nor would they give me my refund. I'm not sure I understand the complaint. I've never seen this on Ask.com. I'm more annoyed at software I try to install that is completely unrelated to search engines (such as Adobe or Real Player, I think) trying to install a Google toolbar. Isn't their monopoly big enough without this cooercive technique? installing Google toolbar is the default, which most people accept.
