business bank account
I was going to purchase an automobile from carmax for my business using my business account. We got to the point of tendering down payment amounts and signing paperwork when I was advised they could not place the vehicle in my business name, when they intially advised me they could. As such, I had to cancel the transaction before it was even consummated. Carmax's finance department had just run my debit card and then tried to credit me back my $11, 051.02 deposit and it failed. We tried several times and it continued to fail. Due to it being after boa customer service operating hours, I called the following day and was advised I had to go back to swipe my card again. The car delaership is nearly an hour away, so I contacted carfax and advised I would be in the following day on thurdsay, 5/23. I drove the nearly one hour drive each way back to the dealership and we tried multiple time to swipe the card and each time it failed. I was there for over 3 hours and on the phone with 2 seapate customer service reps (because 1 of them "dropped" the call after 40 minutes on the phone) for over 2 hours with no resolution.
I called boa back again today and was bounced from person to person. I ended up in the dispute department and the lady wanted to blame everything on the carfax financing dept. I quickly informed her that the issue was on boa and noone else!
Finally she was going to connect me to someone else in their fraud dept and again... Magically... Dropped my call. I spent another hour getting to a very helpful rep named stephen who ultimately ended up passing me to his boss. I had to drive back to the dealership again to try to swipe my card. Once again, it was an absolute waste of time because boa still would not accept my refunded credit back into my account from the finance dept. The manager advised he had no clue why the system would not accept it and I would just have to wait for 10-14 days for the dispute department to get me my refund. He said it could be the amount of the refund, which made less sense considering there was not a freeze placed on my account when I tendered the payment. No one seems to know why boa cannot accept my refund, which is beyond infuriating!
I have been a customer of boa for a very long time and it makes zero sense that I can withdraw over $11000 from my account without it being frozen as suspicious, but I cannot have the same $11000 credited back to my account the same night within a half hour of it being withdrawn.
Bank of america is refusing to accept the proceeds back into my account... So as soon as my account is corrected in 10-14 days and I finally get my $11000+ refund back... I am absolutely closing all my boa accounts and going to a bank that does not have such ridiculously flawed policies and procedures in place! This is a complete joke that I have to wait for a dispute to run full cirlce when the vendor has tried everything to wire my proceeds back. If they cut me a check... It too would take 10 to 14 days but a debit account refund would take minutes! Great work boa! Way to make a lifelong customer jump ship because of complete and utter incompetence!

denied fraud case
I was denied a fraudulent case because your lazy fraud department doesnt do external investigations on a issue I had. I was hacked and someone made 2 payments to AMEX and completely wiped me out. The transaction and credit card numbers showed up from amex and yet I was still denied! case 07MAY2019-403026 HCSO #[protected]. No one seems to care about the customer and puts them off. No one has called and this is now going on a month with no money and no help from a bank I have been with over 15 years. I am now delinquent on payments, payments have bounced because the lack of effort your employees have put in. If this isnt resolved by the end of the week 5/24/2019 I will take this public on the news and continue to demand for a solution.
my account
i would like to file a complaint against bank of america because my account transactions arent lined up improperly they repeadly charge me overdraft fees which they where not doing at 1st usually its one overdraft for a 7 day length and now its everyday at 12 am no updated emails or phone calls where sent out to acknowledge this new overdraft system ive been a bank of america customer for 2 going on 3 years and the overdraft system was never this close together. i recently went to my local bank of america to get this matter resovled by a local rep, they lady that helped me at that time of visit was kind enough to reverse the charges however prior to this my account still for some reason remains at fault ( i.e negative ) and inorder for the reverse to occur i had to bring in proof that my account history didnt line up the right way and i had to overdraft becuase they way whomever did that to my account made it seem like i had no money everytime i went to take out money and it also destroyed my credibility for furture loans and other finance's because my account history shows me as withdrawing way more money then i have in my account before all this happened i was never in the negative nor did i ever overdraft my account i knew my limits and boundries please help me fix this issues i have a payroll deposit coming soon and it will be token due to overdraft fee's which is unfair .
the entire company sucks eggs!
The Internet is chock full of past customers who had their Bank of America Credit Card accounts closed out of the blue sky for nothing more than an increase to Utilization of your OTHER Cards! It happened to my Nephew last year, I thought he must be mistaken & it was something he did wrong, but now they just did the same exact thing to me!
In 2016 I had 810-816 FICO with 0% Utilization, which is normal for me because I only use Credit Cards as a tool to buy/resell make money. THIS is when I obtained a BofA Cash Rewards card $10, 000 Limit and BofA Platinum Plus $18000 Limit.
17 Credit cards with $151, 800 Combined limit. last month April 2019 I bid/won/bought $59, 800 worth of equipment from RB Auctions & spread it out across my Credit cards, paying with several Cash back cards & utilizing 0% Offers on others. (Been doing this for years using Credit cards) My score at 39% Utilization dropped to 659, but this is expected, it goes right back up again when I pay everything off as I've done for the past 40+ years.
Bank of America suddenly closes both my credit card accounts 16 days ago out of the blue sky with no warning/explanation what so ever. I first learned of it when logging into my online account, my account were GONE! VANISHED!
I had just paid off both cards & had over $200 Cash Back Rewards Balance too, but suddenly had no access to anything!
Called, they told me they closed both accounts due to Utilization suddenly jumping up to 39% on my OTHER CARDS, NOT THEIRS!
Do yourself a favor, don't do any business with Bank of America, do your research, you will find the internet is full of reviews like mine, this bank and all it entails is SCUM right up there with CHASE! The 2 worse POS companies EVER.
Nothing similar has ever happened to me before over the past 42 years since 1977 when I obtained my very first Credit Card. Over the years I've even had Utilization rates as high as 70% with nothing like this ever happening to me.

unauthorized use of my credit card
My Visa credit card [protected] was used in Florida in early March 2019 at several Walmarts. I received only one card and it was in my possession at my house in Newbury, Massachusetts during that time. The only time I was in Florida was at the Miami Airport in February transiting to and from Boston to South America. The card has been in my possession (in my house since early February) until I reported the unauthorized use and destroyed the card at the direction of your associate to whom I reported the fraudulent usage.
Now, I am told that the fraud department has decided that since a card was used in a machine that I owe the money.
Your Fraud associated suggested that someone might have stolen the card from my house (in Massachusetts) used it in Florida and then returned to my house.
He further told me that no appeal was available unless I got a police report and sent to to B of A. Since there was no theft of my card a police report is inappropriate.
I never made the charges, authorized anyone else to make them, gave the card to a third party, nor was the card ever out of my possession. Although I am long retired and it is unlikely I will ever need to seek credit, nevertheless this baseless claim of Bank of America will besmirch my credit. I ask that you accept that the card was somehow fraudulently used by a third party and cancel the debt.
I have been a Bank of America customer since 1994, have always paid the card timely.
putting a 12 day hold on a check from citibank.
We wrote a balance transfer check on Citibank to deposit in our account. After we put the check in the deposit slot of the ATM, we noticed that the check would not clear for 12 days. We called Bank of America and they could give us no sensible reason for the delay except to say that the check may not be good. We have excellent credit and we have no idea why the inordinately long hold. We have a photocopy of the deposited check on a deposit receipt from the ATM.
teller service
Well I went to the bank and it was this big line but I saw a few Seniors waiting in line like everyone else I asked both supervisors if they didn't have a line designed for all Seniors and they told me that Seniors in this bank don't get treated as Seniors but instead like everyone else this is BS because Seniors is what keeps them in business how sad to...
Read full review of Bank of Americawhirlpool warranty buyout processing
Bank of America has not delivered a Whirlpool warranty buy out of $1975.50 for over a month. Funds were release to them by Whirlpool on 3/18/19. They first delivered an inactive debit card on 3/26/19 and vowed to replace it with a check within 10-15 business days. That time frame has come and gone. Multiple calls resulted in different stories each time but all assuring me the check is in the mail. Last call today the "supervisor" said the check was cut on 4/17 and is in the mail. Interesting since the call prior to 4/17 I was told the check would be in my possession by 4/17. When asked why a " BANK" could not electronically transfer the funds to my bank account I was told because they were debit card funds. What? They are a BANK. They can't move funds from a debit card to an account? This all seems like an engineered way to hold on to funds as long as they can to earn interest on other people's money. If I ever get my funds I'm sure they will not include interest like they would charge me if I was late on a credit card payment (I don't have a Bank of America credit card and never will). I called Whirlpool to let them know how their vendor is treating their client(s) and the stain they are making on Whirlpools reputation. I will not buy another Whirlpool maintenance agreement as long as Bank of America is their vendor. No one should have to work this hard to get funds passed through a middleman.
boa closed my account
Boa closed my account on april 12, 2019. I went to use my bank debit card to make a purchase, but my transaction receipt said transaction declined. My payroll deposit is sitting in my "closed" account and the bank is not releasing my funds. The bank has my information to contact me of this "sudden account closure", this happened on april 12, 2019, since than they could have the courtesy to call me, email me or send me a notice of what has happened to my account. Instead of me finding out the "hard way" of transaction/declined or call your bank. They waited until my next "deposit" went in to discuss the account closure. Thanks boa for your customer service. You "alert" me of suspicious account activity but not have the decency or courtesy call to give me a heads up! At least say "hey you need to call us to resolve an issue" but you wait til my payroll deposit has been deposited and now you're holding my funds! My hard earned $, and right before the easter holiday. Who does that? Oh boa does!

customer service
Hello,
After being on the phone with multiple people from Bank of America I am completely displeased with my experience. I am requesting a refund of $70.00 from the late fees the corporation has placed on my account. I have been banking with Bank of America for 3 or more years now. Today I called because my account was overdrawn like it has been before. My issue today is that my account was overdrawn and has two late fees from processing that happened overnight. The company should have a better policy to meet the needs of their customer. The customer service I have received is low! These late fees should be waived simply because they were processed in the middle of the night. If the charges would have left my account negative but not have had any late fees until later that day at 8 pm I would have been better satisfied. I don't understand how it's ethical to have the authority to bill me late fees on money that hit my account in the middle of the night. I normally have no problem paying my fees that I may have accumulated. In this instance, the charges shouldn't have been placed on my account. I have spoken with a Skyler in California at the Bank of America. I also spoke with her supervisor Daisy. They both were unable to grant me my money back. The level of customer service I received is not what I would expect from a big branch bank like Bank of America. The Warren Buffet Shareholders should be informed of their company's lack of customer service as I can expect they lose business every day from it. I will be sharing my dissatisfaction about this bank to all the people I know.

lack of progress and inefficiency on large fraud claim
I logged a fraud claim # [protected] with Bank of America on 20 March 2019 when in NY and discovered for first time that there had been fraud on my checking account and CDs. I indicated at the time that the amount was upwards of USD 100000.00. I then had to depart for SA where I reside and have been trying to follow up by telephone but am frustrated with the lack of progress and errors made by staff. I am left with the impression that there is no investigation under way, my questions are not being answered and I have no indication of when I can expect to be refunded for what I perceive to be a bank error as a debit card was issued to someone without the knowledge of either my son or I (joint account holders).
Errors made:
1. I learnt on the first call that the fraud claim was initially logged for only about USD 2000.00 when I clearly stipulated the amount was over USD 100 000.00
2. I asked for details of dates on which my CDs were closed and where the funds were deposited. I was assured that the relevant documents would be mailed to me at my address in SA as well as to a USA address that I provided. When the documents did not arrive, I called back and learnt that the documents has been mailed to an address in Atlanta which I had informed the bank was a fraudulent address.
3. I asked again for the relevant documents to be mailed to a USA address. These arrived yesterday but are totally unrelated to the request that I had made and provide no information on the fraud.
4. I requested details of the authorization process followed by the bank to issue a debit card in my son's name and send it to a fraudulent address. To date I have received no information.
5. I requested details on the authorization process followed to close the CDs and where the funds went. To date I have received no details.
I need a contact investigator with whom I can engage to discuss this matter and to learn what steps I need to take to recover these funds.
I can be contacted on [protected]@ukzn.ac.za
Mobile banking check deposit
Per the mobile app, when you e deposit a check you are to receive 200 that day and the remaining amount the next business day once it is reviewed and processed. I was never told that there would be a two-day hold put on a check deposited this way, and in fact was told by the teller at a branch that if I wanted to access my funds same day I would be better off using the mobile deposit or an ATM. So that being said it is extremely frustrating that I have a 2 day hold on a mobile deposit that also ironically is a check printed buy an established company known as Liberty Mutual and guess who they bank with that's right Bank of America. So I do not understand why you guys cannot access your own system to verify an account within your own network and give me my money. There's no logical explanation especially considering that I have previously deposited checks this way that were written and have no issues. I've always had reservations against bank of America considering the shady history and well not to mention the fact that yall needed to be bailed out of your financial troubles before but this move makes me highly question if yall are in trouble again based on the ridiculous explanations offered like, "we need to verify that we will be able to get our money from that account holder" UM WHAT?
tellers cannot apply late fees accordingly on home equity lines of credit
i received noticed that I owed $300+ in late fees in March 2019.
When I inquired at the branch i had been making the payments at, it was noted by a teller, assistant manager and branch manager that the drop down button on that screen wouldn't allow them to put any payment on late fee. I contacted the Consumer Financial Protection bureau for assistance as the phone reps were not much help. Kevin merscher from Bank of America contacted me and said he was working on it. Kevin called me today to inform me that I needed to pay $116 for the late fees for October, November and December of 2018 and January 2019 by Sunday April 7 to be current and not incur additional fees. Keep in mind the payment statement says $*** payment, $31.57 late fee and gives the option for additional principal amount. So, the months i was late i added the payment, late payment and whatever extra to make an even amount and thought I was paying my bill. Obviously I was wrong. As Kevin told me, make the payment by calling this 800 number. Well I did and the woman told me I was current and owed no late fees. Freaking out after Kevin's threat, I ran to the branch where again I was told they couldn't apply to late fees, I customer late fees and the manager tried to call kevin. She did take me money and gave me a receipt for the $116. I went home, called bank of America again..I spoke to Rebecca and keericka who both told me that my account did not show any late fees not did it show the $116 payment posted to my account yet. I even pulled up Kevin's instructions on his response to the Consumer Financial Protection bureau complaint and they again told me I was current before the $116 payment. So if I'm going to be a few days late with a payment, how are you able to include paying the payment and late fee? So confusing, feels like a scam and I'm sure I'm not the only victim to having been threatened to pay late fees the just to satisfy bank of America greed and poor customer relationships. I will be more than willing to show the receipt s that prove the computer is not the teller or the customers friend
promised refund of fees
I have a student account for my son, he became overdrawn about $200 (4 separate charges from royal farms). He was overdrawn $1192. I called the bank to see if they could reduce some fees because 90% of the negative balance was from fees. I was told yes the best they could do was around $450 but first the account had to be payed then the would refund the fees. I thought that was good. The account is paid so I called today to see about my refund and I got a song and dance about how they can't give it to me now that I paid the account in full only if I set up a payment arrangement they would refund those fees we spoke about. So now they will not refund any fees.
scam
I was scam through a phome from WA to send money to the amount of $3, 500 fro a Detective called David Shapira from the Federal Prosecutions Investigations. HE ask to sent money to Theresa Cunningham with Routing #[protected] Account#[protected] on 1/23/2009 the transfer was for $1, 000.00 the recived was Bank of America in 409 East Foothill Blvd. Realto California, 92370. The second called ask for more money and I sent $500.00 on 1/24/2019 to the same acccount and the same person Theresa Cunningham saying that she was a lawyer. I ask for paperwork for the case but they denied so I said will called the police to notifed and they stop with the phone calls. I reported this to the police and they said is a scam and to made a report to them and to the bank.
lack of tellers
6people on line, one teller working, other service managers sitting in their cubicles and branch manager wasting time greeting incoming customers. Manager should get behind counter and help customers.
Another time there were people on line waiting for service, someone walks in does not get on line, and one bank representative goes over, takes a bill from person, interrupts the one teller to break the bill, while teller in the middle of a transaction. Teller is forced to go in the back room, get change which is given to the customer who then leaves. No identification was asked of this individual who never got on line. All the rest of us were looking on thinking... Why we don't get special treatment even though we go to this branch multiple times a week. Some people obviously get preferred treatment.
Shame on that branch!
