Barclays Bank Crooked Bank

WARNING>>>WARNING>>>WARNING

Horrific Juniper Bank. Tried to use Juniper's online system to pay credit card monthly payment (very first month). Their system did not credit my payment through...after I had followed all of its miserable instructions. What a creative money sieve. Reading all these other complaints...This is a truly cheat bank system...Barclays, Delaware, Joe Biden connections, whatever it is.

Customer service..."Customer Service"...has the easy out and non assistance (trained) individuals to easily dismiss your claim and move on with their day with no way to help you. Sorry sir, your rate is now such and such, and you are delinquent. That will be $39 additional for your problem, and a new higher rate. Sorry.

Luckily I can still get the hell away from this bank, but some poor schnookered people won't be able to get away from them and it's another example of the implosion from within that is hidden from sight...and we all suffer. Fat cats laughing all the way to the bank...and these poor bank customer service reps...so laughable what they are stuck to do.

Stay away from Juniper and watch out for them all.

Barclays Bank APR

Frontier Airlines offer this card that is being financed and run by Barclay Bank in Wilmington, DE 19899.

Frontier Airlines offered and I opened my account with Barclay Bank about 2 years ago at about 16%. I was late on a payment one time about a year ago and they raised my APR to 18%. Recently I made a payment too early. They applied that payment to an earlier month for which I had already sent a payment. I didn't know what they did and later was informed in the statement that I was charged late fee because I didn't make a payment. I called and explained that I made that payment but they said I sent it TOO EARLY! Finally they refunded my late fee but when I got my new statement I noticed that they increased my APR from 18% to 29%! After many arguments they refuse to budge! MY ADVICE: DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS BANK.

Wow, what a joke of a bank. Barclays Bank's customer service department is by far THE worst I have encountered. I am surprised Frontier Airlines has not moved on to a different bank to administer the frequent flier credit card offer. The customer service at the bank is the worst I have ever experienced.

If I did not love Frontier Airlines and want the mileage credit I would have dumped Barclays Bank long ago.

Seriously, I do not understand how a company (Barcays) can stay in business with the poor customer service, lack of follow through, incompetent employees, not well-trained employees on their own products (e. g. stating they don't offer a "Pay Pass" credit card through Frontier Airlines, when they do!), weak supervisors, not calling back within 24 hours as they state a manager will do and managers not even aware of what the problem is.

This goes back to mid-May (nearly 3 months now!) when I was sent a new credit card because I was "upgraded" to a better card. Two months later and nearly 30 phone calls and I don't have resolution and continue to get incompetent customer service employees who give me incorrect information and do not seem to care to fix the situation. Stay clear of getting one of these cards if you can help it. (I read the negative post by a person who "was roped" into one there at the Denver Airport.)

I am so disappointed in this product, Barclays Bank, any Barclays cards, especially the Frontier Airlines Barclays MasterCard, the incompetent call center they use in Manila, the uniformed bank customer service personnel in the U.S. who do not follow through and seem uninterested in helping, Frontier Airlines.

There are other better choices out there. Be aware - Mike

Barclays Bank Credit card rip off through barclays

The juniper card and barclays bank is a financial scam!
I was checking out a new computer at the santa monica apple store and an employee said if I filled out a form, that I might be eligible for immediate credit with the juniper card with terms of 0% for 1 year. Because of my excellent credit rating, I was approved for over $1, 000 and I went home to further research their products, I then received a call that my dad had died of a heart attack and I left immediately. While out of state for almost a month, handling all the funeral arrangements and the estate business, my bills were being paid by auto-debit. When I returned to ca, I used the juniper card and I saw on their first statement that my interest rate jumped from 0% for one year, to 29.99%!
When I called, the people at juniper and barclays bank of delaware, I waited over 15 minutes for an agent and everyone I spoke with was unbelievably rude. The supervisor said the reason the interest went up 30% was because I didn't use the juniper card at an apple store within 30 days! I used it 32 days later. The apple employees explained none of this to me at either time! Before using the juniper card, I browsed the terms and information but missed a & ldquo;see below” fine print line. There is a (Very small and hidden) sentence in the contract that states, if you don't use the juniper card by barclays bank of delaware in 30 days, the interest goes from 0% for a year to 29.99%. Even though I spent less than the credit limit, the interest put me over the limit! I explained the situation, and no one at barclays bank or juniper was helpful, friendly or the least bit understanding. Not only would they would not lower the interest rate, or the over limit fee, even for as a gesture of good will, they charged me a $39 late fee because while I had been on the phone with them, because I missed the payment cutoff time by 45 minutes est! I highly suggest that you never use barclays bank or juniper! I have the feeling they may be up for a class action suit, if we really do see reform as promised, after the recent elections. I am wondering if this is one of the banks we bailed out!
To juniper and barclays bank, any means, including, a small oversight from grieving the death of a parent is another way to make more money.

So let me get this straight - the fact that you took a thousand dollars from a bank and didn't read the terms and conditions under which they were lending you that money is the bank's fault?

Sounds like the story of that lady who sued McDonald's for making her fat.

This bank is the most unscrupulous bank I have EVER done business with. A few months ago they sent me a notice stating that they will be raising my interest rate unless I cancelled the account. I called and promptly did so. A month later I am hit with an increase of my interest rate. They stated that they never received such a phone call. I e-mailed Barclays directly in England - on three different occasions. On all three they apologized and stated that they will be getting back to me - that was April, and here we are in mid-July.

My suggestion - DO NOT DO BUSINESS of any kind with this bank or their affiliates - you can take heed to this advice now - or pay dearly later.

This bank is nothing but a rip-off by a bunch of filthy ###. They should be shutdown, and left holding the bag for every penny every single customer owes them.

A class action lawsuit seems to be a good answer here, they deserve it, as they rip-off everyone they do business with.

They are truly THIEVES.

Barclays Bank Three weeks and no response

Many years ago I took out a personal pension plan with Barclays bank, the simple reason being my brother had just joined them as a salesman and I was just giving him a hand up to get started.
I paid into the plan for some years but unfortunately, redundancy and loss of earnings, ment I could not keep up the payments. Despite this as far as I am aware I am now entiteled to access to this pension fund. With this in mind I contacted the agent and was told that I could have 25% of the fund as a lump sum and then have the rest in an anual pension, my next question was how much and I was told I would by the agent that he would forward me the exact details ASAP.
After a week passed asked again in the form of an E mail for the details. No response. A further week passed I asked again and got sorry I have been busy. I decided at the begining of this week to e mail Barclays direct, still no response.
This is paricularly anoying for me as the agent is still my brother, whats my next step.

Whilst the High Court has thrown out Lenders argument that overdraft charges are not for providing a service, Barclays have become the first bank to introduce novel new ways of fleecing customers – they are now window dressing penalties so they look more like a service.

It’s an overdraft facility that :

1. A customer hasn’t asked for.

2. A customer is automatically opted-in unless he/she opt-out.

3. If overdraft used, £22 is added every five days unless customer goes back into credit. So if you go overdrawn for twenty days, you are charged £88 - all with your permission.

Obviously no mention of the recent court decision, and the bank seems to think they are doing customers a favour by all the blurb. The more customers that don't opt-out, the more bank can say they provide a service - hence charges.

Straight in the shredder, unless customers find good reason to have such a facility.

I applied for a CDL at the beginning of July. I have still not been paid and it is now the 3rd of October. I had my documentation sent back for information that wasn´t asked on the application form, and then gave it over the phone with no problem.

They do not phone you but send everything by post, 2nd class, so you hear nothing for weeks then suddenly get a letter dated a week ago. You can´t go into a branch and ask as yoiu get told quite hastily to phone up and basically get lost.

While many operators have a reasonable command of English, half of them do not, and are incapable of following you. Bear that in mind when phoning as you will just be ignored otherwise. It really is a question of luck.

I am currently waiting patiently for documents that were sent 7 days ago... all I have to do is sign them, send them back again (that's 3 times recorded delivery) and within 7 days of them opening the thing I should be paid. They refuse to send it to addresses not on your original form, even though most of us are students who have MOVED to study. So not only do I have to pay once again for postage, so do my parents. Not to mention the phone calls too.

Of course, when it's time to pay up, you can bet your life Barclays will be all over me, but as far as holding up their part of the bargain, forget it.

Apply to Co-op first. I haven´t used them but even if they are just as bad, they can´t be worse. Surely...?

CDL Barclays - go with money to uni and don´t depend on them. Take a year out and save.

I closed my Barclays account years ago due to the extortionate charges and downright bad service. Apparently so did my parents. I didn’t know this the other day when I transferred some money to their non-existent account. Barclays of course have accepted my payment and my money is somewhere in cyberspace.

After a quick call to my own bank today (prompt reply, friendly staff with some knowledge of the bank’s processes), I was directed towards Barclays. I couldn’t have spent a more frustrating day. After scouring the myriad of numbers to call, I decided on one that said Customer Services. Wrong one apparently and I was given another number. So I called that, selected the option for not having my banking details (I don’t hold an account there after all) and the woman that answered told me I was again in the wrong place and forwarded me to another number. The new number had me on hold for an hour and a quarter. I timed every second. And then I gave up.

I ended up on here reading everyone else’s stories and thanks to speedduck, used an alternative number which only took 10 minutes to answer (it’s worrying that I now consider that a good time!). After much explaining and to-ing and fro-ing between people who might know bank procedure for this situation I was told to phone my bank again. When I did my bank answered promptly, gave me some knowledgeable information on how CHAPS trace procedures require 10 days waiting period from the transfer date (I’m just below that) and advised me to call back in a few days. I hung up on my bank feeling a lot better since at least they knew what they were doing!

I find myself reminded today of why I left this bank in the first place – all I was left with was infuriation. We may not be able to cause a boycott but we can let others know what these companies are like (this being the worst I have personally dealt with in the past).

In February 2017 following failings in the Barclaycard telephone system I was unable to register my new card valid from March 1st 2017 I cut up the card, returned it to Barclaycard and closed the account. Final payment on the existing card was due and paid in February. My March statement from them confirms that the balance is zero.

Since February I have received at intervals four text message stating that I owe money to Barclaycard and failure to pay will result in my credit rating being affected. I have at my own expense wriiten letters, telephoned and sent faxes to stop this nuisance, a totla of seven transactions In view of my time and money wasted I asked Barclaycard for a payment fo £20 for each transaction, they have refused.

Barclaycard have refused to take the matter further and not even offered an apology. These text messages are libellous, can be seen by any member of my family should they happen to pick up my telephone.

This is clearly a breach of confidential information that even if it was correct should not be transmitted in this manner.

I recenlty asked to port my mortgage from one property to another and downsize from a £240k mortgage to a £160k as I was finding a £240k too much for me.

I thought the process would be simple one as I could retain my existing mortgage and pay off £70k. everyone is happy "SIMPLE"

NOT FOR BARCLAYS!

I have had nothing but hell for weeks and I have never experienced such incompetence, lack of common sense, and failure to return calls.

I have been asked for duplicate documentation and asked to prove I can afford less than my exosting mortgage from their underwriters.

If they keep treating customers like this then I expect sharp declines in customer numbers as they will be leaving in droves due to a severe lack customer service.

I have now lodged a complaint and will have to wait up to 4 weeks to find out what action they are going to take, lets see if hey are still fluent in finance or see if they developed a stutter.

This is a very brief overview and I will be posting a more detailed report in due course.

in trying to do this and I have spoken people in Barclays who are completely clueless asked to provide all my details agian, which barclays already had. They asked to prove I could afford a £160k mortgage as requested by their underwriters, even though I was paying

I had an infuriating experience recently with Barclays as well. I was reading your story, and just cannot sympathize more. I don't want to bore you with my details, but we have a business account with them. They made mistake on the mandate and bounced back 5 checks that had the same signature as always before. When I asked the relationship manager, he simply told me the reason was because of the insufficient funds, even I told him repeatedly their back office called us to tell us it was the signature problem. For each bounced back check, they charged us 35 pounds! This manager later offered 100 pounds as a "good will gesture" and told me to forget about it and move on. I am going to fight till the end to find out the truth!

Barclays Bank Ineffective card and bad usage

The rules engine for card usage prohibits people from using this card. So many times, I've had this card declined because of some "security" reason. This even occurs in the same zipcode as my billing address. When I called to see what solution can be provided, they said there is nothing they can do short of me calling each time go out of my area ahead of time. Thatsince this happens even in my own billing zipcode, what do I do? The answer was "sorry for the inconvenience". After 40 minutes on the phone with them with 30 minutes of it being on hold while their figure out how to pull their head of their their !@#$%!

Then the account gets closed on me so when I tried using it later in the afternoon, it was declined yet again. Once again, back on the phone with them and they reinstated the card and I have to wait 24 hours before I can use it again. The response this time was "sorry ma'am, this is procedure. there is nothing we can do but wait 24 hours". NOTHING! Even when it was a mistake on their part.

ONCE AGAIN, I GET INCONVENIENCED! Oh, but if I want to complain, I can fax a letter to their fax number.

Barclays Bank Scam and cheating

I had my LLBean Visa a long time and then when they switched to Barclays I was declined. I waited five weeks for my Barclays card and they never sent me a letter of decline. I was promised that I would get the card in two weeks. I am angry. They would not give me reasons why I was declined. That worries me because I gave Barclays employees all kinds of personal info. That makes me wonder what the status of all the banking institutions are if a bank like Barclays are rejecting people like me. Sad... sad... Oh well!

Barclays Bank Rip off

Juniper is the credit card for Frontier Airlines frequent flier. I have made many complaints to Frontier and Juniper to no avail about how bad the bank, credit card, and treatment is from Juniper or Barclays as they are now. Customer service is rude as are the supervisors which for sure reflects upper management. Some of their tricks are to label a payment "nonconforming" so that it is handled longer and therefore generates late fees and interest; transfer you to their headquarters customer service which is no better than regular customer service; mail statements first class that take 10 days to reach someone and then any reverse USPS mailing also first class takes another 10 days on a 21 day grace period---guess what happens every time--late fees and interest. When you pay on transactions without "their" envelope it's a non-conforming payment. When you pay without an official printed statement returned to them, it's a non-conforming payment. I finally canceled my card and my peace of mind has tripled. I will never ever work with Barclays or Juniper.

I cannot believe the conversation I just had with Gary, one of the so called relationship managers with Juniper Bank. Guess what? THIS RELATIONSHIP IS OVER! Because I mistakenly sent them my September payment, on time by the way, in an amount that was $5 (that's five dollars) less than the correct amount, this company not only charged me a $39 late payment fee, they also raised my already obscene interest rate to an even higher obscene rate! 26.99% APR. Now here's the best part... are you ready... for October I sent them a $5000 payment, on record before I spoke with Gary, think that had any bearing? NO WAY! They still raised my APR. I've never been late, always paid the minimum, often paid more. Obviously Barclays is not interested in a happy and satisfied customer, angry and upset is OK as long as they pay. Well, not this customer. I have cut up my card, and will be sending the pieces to their executive management, and paying off the remaining balance of my account.

I have had a similar experience with Juniper. Introductory interest rate of 8.99%...all is well for several years...I making all payments on time, early or complete payoff. One time in January 90 I am 2 days late with TWO payments, and Juniper jacks my interest rate to 26.99% (!), and charges me a 39.00 late fee. I have a balance on this card that I will pay off in 1-2 months, then I will never do business with them again. I will then spend a good deal of my time crusading on message boards about the illegal and unethical practices of Juniper/Barclays. I will do as I told them I would - I will cost them many times more money than they have extracted from me through the power of the Internet. TELLO EVERYONE ABOUT THIS AND FIRE JUNIPER.

GOOD RIDDANCE Juniper/Barclays.

Barclays Bank Atm fraud

Dear sir/madam

I am banking with Barclays bank and on the 7th of September my account was illegally used, the amount of 5241dirhams was withdrawn in the Filipinos, I realized this on the 11th and contacted the bank the consultant then said to me that I will receive a call back from the bank within 24-48hrs after submitting a claim form witch I submitted on the same day. I then waited till Sunday the 14th and did not hear from them I then contacted the bank and was told that this is not their problem and will be called within 180 days, I explained to them that this is my salary account and that this is my living money, they told me there is nothing they can do and that this is the bank policy I feel this not to be appropriate as I trusted the bank with my details and expected them to be using the best technology to protect us from such crimes. I do not feel that this is my problem as im still in position of my only card supplied by the bank, is there something I can do about this legally and how do I go about it.

Yours sincerely

Barclays Bank Poor customer service & receiving the amount

I’m the customer of Barclays in India (Nov. 2007 – till date), I m not using this card for my regular uses, I use this card only once and that the mistake i made in my life. Dont ever believe on the customer care people misguide you and never tell you the truth behind so-called customer care service. They offer me the medical insurance service through this card, when i told them that i don’t want they told me Do not worry if you canceled this then you Do not have to pay any single rupee. When i canceled that police within the month of period i inform them that i canceled that policy, they said ok no need the approach to Barclay the if you canceled that policy and you don’t have to pay any thing.

But after a month of period when i received the statement it showed that the amount is credited when i called up again they said don't worry you will received next month the corrected statement. In month of June i received the SMS that your card is suspended due to the outstanding When i approach again then again told me the same sentence that we will reverse that amount you will received the corrected statement.

But this is the September month the situation is same and they not doing any thing about my query but they are very particular to send the reminder SMS and reminder Recorded call. They also mention one number that is relation the dispute department. I tried that number so many time number never getting connected.

After the 10 month they are now saying the new thing that you not informed the Barclays card department for cancellation.

I required your suggestions and guideline to avoid the further complications

I have also faced the worst issue from barclays bank
Without my permission they deducted Rs.9000/-from my account for some barclays toru package .But I have given the complaint immediately to the banking ombudsman Reserve Bnak of India also given complaint directly to the barclays bank UK ombudseman so immediately the problem solved. If you are facing the problem like this after talking to the bank, approach directly to the Reserve Bnak of India or the particular bank ombudsman

Card No. [protected] barclays

I’m the customer of Barclays in India (Since aprox one year), I m using this card for my regular uses, Dont ever believe on the customer care people misguide you and never tell you the truth behind so-called customer care service.

I am briefing you the whole story given below.

I got my statement dated 19-09-2008, the due date is 09-10-2008 Total outstanding is Rs. 968.82. I had droped a cheque for Rs. 500.00 on 01-10-2008 before the due date. I had received a SMS after the due date 09-10-2008 that they have not received the payments. I had talked to customer care of barclays he told me that i pay the minimum amount and if any late payment shows in the next statement then it will be reversed. They have given a complaint no. CAS-245399. I had paid again Rs. 500.00 on same date. Now when i received statement dated 18-10-2008 i have found that they have received both of the cheque on 17-10-2008 and 18-10-2008 where as they received the cheque before the given date. The total amount was due 968.82 of statement dated 19-09-2008 where as i paid 1000.00 ie, i had paid Rs. 31.18 extra according to me.

Again i had purchase of Rs, . 1025.55 and Rs. 127.5. Now the total Due amount is 1121.87 where as i had paid 1122.00.

Again i had received a statement dated 19-11-2008 i had purchased of Rs. 5400.00. I talked to customer care and mail to barclays and clearly told them that i am poaying minimum amount rs. 310.00 if you will reverse the late payment and it's interest then i will pay the balance amount.

But they are not responding of my mail. I had mailed so many times every time they were writing we will revert back to you within the 7 days.

Now the Statement dated 18-12-2008 i had calculated the amount. I had paid 5090.00 and 303.00. I had left the latepyament rs. 500.00 + it's interest . I have paid also the interest of the rs. 500+it's interest Aprox 25.00.

Now you will tell me how can i pay the late payment and its interest. Where as i have paid the interest of the Rs. 5400.00 + interest of the interest. I had dropped the cheque before the due date then why i will pay the late payment. This is not my fault. I think they are not collecting the cheque from the skypack drop box properly. will you tell me am i mad. i know that if i will not pay the minimum amount then late payment is eligible. But i had paid the more than the minimum amount before the due date then y i will pay the late payment.

I am total tense about it. If i ma fraud then y i will pay the balance amount. I know only that if i have purchased some thing by the card then it should be paid by me. They are harrasing me through the call because i have written that i will not pay the balance amount ie late payment or interest.

Please help me i am suffering from the tension and may be i will be caought by the depression.

Please help me Please.

I required your suggestions and guideline to avoid the further complications

Thanks

The worst System and Service eversince I have heard is followed by Barclay Card. They ask me to make my payment through a cheque in the name of "Barclaycard PLC" and the CCno behind and to put in a rusted trash box like drop box situated in some petty shops in Chennai. Even though I made a payment which was reflected in my Bank account but was not accounted in Barclay's Card account. The very fine next day people from So called BarclayBank's customer service asks about the outstanding which i made. They irritated me to the core by calling more than 10 times a day followed by an SMS stating that i have not paid my due. Those person who asks me, never update what i tell in their system and so for every call i have to tell the whole story with proof.
I also sent my bank statement through register post which clearly shows that i made my payment before due date to the Head Service team and customer care team which is in Mumbai followed by a email too.
Till now I dint get any response from their side but could get irritating calls and SMS. After a long struggle I somehow made to understand an Collection executive about my issues. That fine Gentleman asked me to pay atleast the minimum due of Rs.150/- only then the Barclay Service team would consider my complaint. I then paid that amount that day itself through his representative. But it took another month now whereby i dint get any response from Barclaycard service team. I dont have words to describe more than this. Its easy for me to take them in Consumer Court with my valuable evidence which i gonna do it within few days.

The worst services I ever seen . using Barclay Credit card was my first and the big mistake. I made the payment by cheque but till date the same has not been received by them. even i am getting on an average 3-4 calls per day from bombay. i am fed up with the srvices and want to surrender the card but not knowing the process. Even a fear is inside that if they will use ny surrender card then what I will do. Because THEY CAN DO ANYTHING...:(

Regarding your situation, when you tell the representative that you have cancelled the subscription then they would tell you not to worry about it, the service you mentioned is handled by a different partner. If you cancelled during that time it should be refunded to you, if you were having problems with that you would need to contact the partner to have them handle it.

Barclays Bank Harrsement to the customer, bad behaviour of the customer service staff

Dear Sir,

I am your customer (Credit Card Number : [protected]) and have been a respected & privileged customer of not only your bank but also reputed bank Standard Chartered Bank, HDFC, ICICI to name a few which have been upgraded to Gold and Titanium for being a privileged customer.

My complaint are as follows :

I had received your bill for the period Jan- March 1, 2008 amounting to Rs. 20708/- . I had deposited the cheque into my nearby drop box - Gala Medical Stores, Mulund East on Friday, Feb 22, 2008 (this is where I have always been depositing my cheques which have been cleared). Though I was on my official tour, I never being a defaulter religiously deposited the cheque on Feb 22 (which was the last day of payment).

On Feb 23, I receive a call from your "RUDE " customer service staff "demanding that I pay the amount by cash". I being a patient customer, thought that if would be more meaningful and wise to speak to your bank instead of speaking to some "sleazy customer service staff who did not have the basic etiquette of talking to a privileged customer like me". ALSO, LET ME ALSO STATE THAT FEB 25 & 26, 2008 WAS A DECLARED BANK STRIKE ALL OVER INDIA.

I did call your bank staff on Feb 27, 2008 and spoke to Mr. Manish who was very cordial enough to assure me that the late payment charge would not be implied to me. I was very impressed.

BUT, to my dismay, I receive a bill dated March 1 to April 2, fining me Rs.300/- as “LATE INTEREST FEE, WITH AN EXTRA INTEREST OF Rs. 935.12). The funny part is that, they cleared my cheque and still sent me a late payment. When I called the customer service staff again, they AGAIN agreed me to reverse the payment. Me, again not to mention my “privileged status” paid the bill which was rightly due to me, amounting to Rs.191/- . YES, I REFUSED TO PAY THE UNETHICAL LATE FEE CHARGES INDUCED ON ME”

From then on the harassment began… Your customer service staff kept calling me “threatening me, using bad language”. They ALSO, sent me an SMS threatening me that they would inform the credit bureau to stop my other credit charges.

Now this is a limt… You have forced me to write this note. But this is not the end, I am forced to go to the PRESS and CONSUMER COURT for the classic harassment and mental torture you staff has put me through.

Best regards,

Ratan Palan

For those are being approached by Barclays Bank Credit Card agents, BEWARE !

Back in July 2010, one of Barclays agent approached me and persuaded me to sign up for a platinum card - I've found out that he's provided me with several false information regarding the deal

First he told me that the butler service to the airport is FREE - As I'm a frequent traveller, I thought this would be useful - I later found out that I needed to pay DHS 100 for this ! - I confirmed this with the agent many times before signing up so this is not a question of my memory !

He also told me that I will be charged DHS 300 for the annual fees but this will then be credited back to my account if I were to spend DHS 100 in the first 60 days, which I did - it's been 5 months later and that has not happened so I called up the customer service line and they told me that there is no such deal !

I'm extremely unhappy about this - the agent is unprofessional and I can't believe that Barclays would hire such people who would lie to their customers just to get them to sign for credit cards to fullfill their quota !

I've dealt with manu international banks before and Barclays is by far the worst ! - VERY DISAPPOINTED !

BARCLAYS BANK CREDIT CARD SUCKS! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
SO MUCH FOR THE BAILOUT MONEY TERMS!

My mom applied for a Barclay card through Apple because she wanted to take advantage of the 12 month promo. What a nightmare! Had we known we would have just put the purchase on another card. My mom has a credit score of 780! living in the same house which she owns for over 38 years! working for the company my father owns for over 20 years! never late on any of her payment!
After mailing in the copies of identification they requested, after faxing in copies, after answering ALL their questions, after getting approved and being told that she can just go online or call an Apple rep to place her order... which she did...she was told that now she would have to wait ANOTHER 3 DAYS! they need to get their heads out of their ###! and frankly mom doesnt want to have anything to do with them especially after speaking with one of the Barclays Bank Security reps named MATT ( April 6, 2010 @12:51pm from NY) who was nothing more than an automaton.
A cog in a machine who could not care less about my experience and the fact that for the last 3 weeks they have been raking my parents through the coals for a $2500 line of credit?

Your customer service skills suck MATT and you need a lesson on empathy! but what can one expect... After all it all starts at the top.

If you want to give your hard earned money to a credit card company that sees you as a being nothing more than a digit... a number than Barclays is your Bank

I had filled in a credit card application for Barclays bank twice and had provided my personal details and photocopies of ID. When I complained about it nothing was done and they ask for the same information I had provided. It looks like they haven't even read my mail!

(Manoj Juggal - Cell No. [protected]) I am getting call from your recovery staff since last more than 7 months about an unsetteled issue. I have been panalised by many rupees against which was due late credit of amount (due to Bank Strike) which was not in my control. I requested many times to your bank to remove excess charges, but regret to get any possitive reply and since than I realised that No one will care about customer. Since last two months I was getting calls again and was agreed to pay actual Principal amount which is almost 7235.00 but your staff (Nehru Place Brach) was asking for 9500.0 aprox. After our long debait on not giving excess amount and rash laguage used by one of the staff Mr. Ajay Singh, I have decided to not to pay any amount to BARCKLAYS.

This goes back to mid-May when I was sent a new credit card because I was "upgraded" to a better card.

I am on a Hate In with Barclays Bank. They are unreasonable and will not assist with a late charge given to me . They claim I was 1 day late ...I have always paid my bills on time and even very early. This particular check was sent in time. Do you think it was not opened in a timely fashion ..They will hear nothing and have charged me $29.00 on a $175.00 bill. The way things are now you would think they would want to help out a good customer . I am tearing up my card. Who needs them...POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS...I am billing them for when I paid early.

I'm facing exactly the same problem like Mr.Sreekumar Krishnapillai.
Now the Barclay's customer care does not take any resposibility and the Barclay's priority circle guys have trapped us in this trick.
This is a very bad business esthetic and can't run for long. I am surely going to lodge complain in consumer court and will try my best to warn all my friends, colleagues not to fall in this trap.

I would request the complaintboard to take some action on Barclay's priority circle.

The Manager,
Customer Complaint.in,

Respected Sir/Madam,

Sub : Debited my Barclays Credit Card A/C without confirmation

I am a Barclaycard holder (CARD NO: [protected]) was offered an invitation to priority circle membership which according to my understanding was offered FREE of Cost and never mention any charge being debited my account. More over he told me that they would be sending the details within 15 days and after reading the full details you can decide to sign it and send the form to their Mumbai office. But I did not get any mail from the Bank till the date.

Now they have debited my Credit card account a total amount of 6741.60 (Rs. 6000/- as Priority Circle fee plus Service Tax of Rs. 741.60/-) and sent a statement dated on 19-Nov-2008 to my email id and through postal also. This amount is debited without any confirmation from the me.
I replied to the services@barclaycard.com on dated. 25.11.2008 for reversing the amount but there is no reply till the date.

I have contacted the Customer Service care No. [protected] and requested to REVERSE the amount. They wanted the information about my Card no, Date of Birth, Address and Mobile Number and told their Bangalore Customer care N0.[protected]. I have contacted the Customer Service care No in Bangalore [protected] three times. They are telling that they are unaware of this and they don’t have the provision to cancel this. Also they are not telling the official address of the Customer care service in Bangalore.

In this regard I am requesting Consumer complaints officials should take actions against BARCLAYCARD priority circle on this issue.

Please help me to reverse the amount from my account.

Yours faithfully,

I have applied for barclay credit card in the month of march this year. After that few days later one currier boy came with my card in my office premises but he didn't delivered me the card by telling that the address which i have provided is wrong so he won't be able to hand over me the card. after that i never got my Barclay credit card. But later on i started getting messages and Phone calls in every month that i have due on my barclay credit card. When i never got my card then how i have due in it? After that Barclay people started scaring me by telling that they will refer my name to credit bureau. This bracly people giving me mental torture by sending messages and making calls on my mobile. They are not sending my Credit card and without sending it they are asking for money for the card.
I have tried to contact them and explained them my problem but every thing of no use. Please help and tell me what should i do know

Barclays Bank Barclay loan

I banked with Barclays since I was 18 for 18 years. No major problems until I took out a Barclays loan. They lost the documents four times, told me I was not eligible for loan protection because I had lived abroad in the past, lost the agreement documents and after a year started to take out random payments. My fifth premier banking manager said they could not help (fifth because all the others had resigned) Ritcheet kotcha said I needed to talk to Barclays loan, who referred me back to Barclays premier banking. I complained to head office, who said they will investigate the matter. After 8 months, 30 emails, faxes, barclays tried to say they never received my complaint. Anita Hicks g, customer complaints then got involved and refused to answers my basic questions such as where is my signed agreement, what was the payments for, the term, can they prove the amount, what interest am I paying, why can no One at barlcays answer basic questions concerning the debits from my account. She decided that Barclays don't have to supply this information, she had no agreement, barclays did not have to tell me what the payment was for and I had to go to the financial Ombudsmen. (Barclays hope that people wont complain and use the Ombudsmen as their customer service department!) I was disgusted, Anita hicks wouldn't even comment on my questions and refused to answer any details about the loan. I asked for statements for the alleged transfer of money into my account, first they refused for 5 months then sent me a photocopy. PLEASE whatever you do don't use Barlcays, they are not honest and do not care about customer service. I have 22 letters saying they will investigate the matter but they never found out what happened to the documents or gave me an option to pay of the amount. they still have not clarified the debits, terms and will not let me pay of the alleged debt in one go. I served the data protection act on them and they took three months to respond, initially saying the act does not apply to them as they don't have a central database file for customers. Each complaint I was promised someone will contact me in 5 working days, they failed on every occasion to meet their own complaints procedure.

Even worse is trying to deal with the account of a deceased relative.Barclays mess you about whilst hanging on to the savings of a loved one trying to make you feel like some sort of grave robber.
They don't recognise power of attorney and even probate papers, they are too big for their boots and worthy only of contempt.

Barclays Bank Harassment from collection agents

I am customer of Barclaycard and paid all the credit card dues on time. To my surprise, I got a SMS from Barclaycard on June 20th, saying I have crossed the credit limit and suggested me to pay the amount immediately. I immediately called up the customer care department of the Card and clarified that I have not done any transaction during that month and no dues are pending from me.

As per Barclayscard, in June 19th there were transactions worth Rs. 1, 55, 666.38 ( including Bank charges) where my credit limit was Rs. 1, 50, 000/-. Fact is none of these transactions were done by me and I do not have any clue on merchant mentioned by the Bank. Those transactions were foreign currency transactions and I was very much in India on that day.

I have called up Barclaycard many times and checked the status of these fraud transactions. They have informed me that they are inquiring about the incident and requested me to send a mail / letter to their Bank, which I have done. Also send them a mail and letter requesting them to cancel my card account since they do not have any security system in place to stop fraud transactions.

Now I am getting harassed by Barclaycard collection agents for making payment as per the statement. I am getting around 6 calls and SMS's from the Bank / Collection Agent. I have informed Bank about these calls and checked the status about fraud transactions. Inquiry is still going on and they do not have any update till now. Since I do not have any other dues with Card, I am not making any payment.

Request your help to stop these harassments from Barclaycard. Do I need to make a Police complaint against Barclaycard? Also request your suggestions to handle these kind of issues.

I accumulated over 111000 miles on my barclaycard arrival card account. worth at least $1110 if redeemed for travel related purchases. the Bank decided that giving 2.2% on all purchases is to custy to them, so they closed my account and stole my rewards.

I am sick of the Barclay card collection department. They have no ethics in business. They say one thing and do the other. Every month i pay the money through drop box. They do not collect the cheque on time and add late payment fee. In this way they have made over limit charges . Several STD calls i have to make every day. But no use. They keep disturbing ever day for the payment. Recently i complaint the customer care (Case No. 5362682) They said you inform the collection center with this reference number. Most surprising fact is that the credit card department cannot communicate with the collection department. I tried to contact senior officials . But they do not reply. Just sitting behind curtains. Most idiotic Bank I have ever seen. I want to close my account, but they are not helping me.
If any responsible person happens to read this, please help me. I will be very greatful to you.

if you are a responsible person you would not need to contact your creditors. the fees and or charges are most likly things you have caused yourself and are unwilling to accept the issues you have brought on yourself.I am sorry I am old but have never had a creditor call me and have held 3 barclay cards myself for many many years. grow up and be responsible. sounds like you are playing the blame game, Barclay has very compitant employees.Unfortunatley they have to deal with people like you all day everyday.

Any one who holds the Barkley card appears to me a dumb fool and an idiot beyond match. This, Barclay Bank, is the worst Bank I have ever come across. My observations are as under:

1. They don't keep any information about there agents, and don't even verify their credentials. They have no control on their employees, what they say and what they sell. I came across two agents of bank who promised a Wrist Watch with this card, only to learn that no such offer exists. Later when I complaint to the Bank, they say they don't know about these agents, they were not surprised and never considered it important to cross-check. I personally know atleast 250 such persons who were trapped by this bank. Definitely it was a ploy to increase banks customer base.

2. They will send billing information at several places- your email, sms, and hard-copy. Some times they won't send it at all places and thus will delibrately confuse you and charge you with late payment fees. This is the way they make money for their bank.

3. Worst customer care department I have ever come across. They have placed foolish and ignorant persons at help desk.

4. Worst Organisational setup. There customer care department, marketing and sales department, bill generation department, etc. do not have any communication across themselves. I have been offered half-a-dozen cards even though I have a card of this bank. And those who call appear so blank that I have card. When they ask for my bill payments, and when I enquire about my complaints, they again start appearing like foolish ducks. They don't keep track of your earlier emails and each time ask for email confirmation.

5. Delibrately use fake email address to respond. They will respond from some fake email address belonging to sparshindia.com, that is no where linked with Barclays.

6. They call at my cell-phone requesting for payments of someone else.

And so I say that any one who holds the Barkley card appears to be dumb fool and an idiot beyond match.

I was told that if I signed up for a credit card I would be given one free flight upon activation.

This NEVER happened. Do not sign up for this card. We have had nothing but problems with it. They did not honor their offers and they do not post payments on time if you pay electronically.

Barclay is THE worst credit card company I have ever dealt with, PERIOD! stay away from this company, they are criminal in their actions. I paid by phone and even got a e-mail confirmation saying the payment west through then I got hit with late fees etc.. I ended up closing my account and losing my frontier mileage. But that is another entire bait and switch scam they do with frontier, they have made it so incredibly difficult to redeem your miles that you sit on them and pay a 50.00 a year fee, it ends up you never get a free airline ticket you just get screwed by this company!

I've had huge problems with this company. Don't get their cards! I've been on hold for over 1/2 an hour trying to cancel my card. I was just talking to an account manager and they said they had to "transfer me". I suspect this is a phone loop with no one at the other end.

I applied for a Barclay card in June, which was apparently approved, and then a card was sent to me. I never activated it b/c I've heard some bad things about the offer being deceptive. It was a Frontier card. I started getting late fee's on top of the annual fee. I have not activated or charged a thing on the card, yet I owe over 100 dollars now. I called them to explain that I didn't realize I owed anything since I had not even activated the card, and my concerns about them giving misleading information. Apparently, they do not care, and pretty much have the attitude that "it's your problem-not theirs". It appears that when you apply, you are agreeing to pay the yearly fee and ALL LATE FEES if you are approved, rather you do or do not choose to activate the card. They do not care. When I called, I was transfered several times, they were rude, disrespectful, and obviously just out to get (your) money. BEWARE. They except no responsibility for misleading the public.
I have very little, if any, trust in them now.

They decided to reverse the payment I sent them saying that I posted my online banking information incorrectly. Of course they can not provide proof of my so called error. This in turn caused a late payment, over limit fee AND increased my 9.99% interest rate to 20.99%. They told me I had to fax a letter to them and someone would contact me from
THE EXECUTIVE OFFICES! I havesent the fax 6 times and still no return call.

Barclays Bank Reduced credit limit

I was given an initial credit limit of $1750.00, when I received my card. I got a letter saying that after a review of my transactions, I posed to be credit risk. I was told that I would have to prove myself to get any more credit than $500.00. Why was this not checked from the beginning? I plan to pay this bill and cancel this account. This is a ridiculous way to encourage new business. I agree this is a rip-off from a company who misleads its clients. This needs to be addressed to Better Business Bureau and FTC.

I made a purchase to a skin cream company in December for a "free" sample for 5.95 for a shipping and handling fee. Details were if I liked it I would be sent the product and charged a 69.95 monthly fee. I thought about it and didn't really like it after I impulsively ordered it and then I saw posts where a lot of others did the same but were charged the 69.95 fee many months and multiple times AFTER they had cancelled the orders. Well I immediately called Juniper and of course they told me the only way to cancel was with the vendor or cancel my card and wait to get another issued. I then did some serious searching and found the vendor's contact number and cancelled. The cancellation showed up on my Jan statement so I thought great -thanks to the internet and other consumers I stopped a possible night mare. WELL today I saw the 69.95 charge on my account and almost went ballistic. I calmly called juniper and explained the situation and was basically told by the foreign rep..."bottom line is I made the charge not Juniper" -so much for having them help to clear this up. I told them I will attempt to contact the company for a SECOND time to stop this and then cancel this *** card. I have never been late and pay the balance off almost every month and so last month they even cut my limit in half.

Anyways I have in 20 years only one other time with another card company called to dispute a charge and they took care of it immediately!

I will find another (hopefully better credit card company) and cancel this company-as if they care! BUT I care so there!...my 2 cents!

This is the worst bank/credit card company EVER! I transferred a balance to this card with 4.99% interest. I have paid every month on time for over 2 years. Last month I accidentally sent in a less than minimum due payment ON TIME! They charged me for a late fee and raised my interest to 12.99%. I called and spoke with them and they were rude, demeaning and offered no resolution. I am trying to transfer this balance to another card and warn everyone to never do business with these people EVER!

If you like a credit card company that provides terrible customer service, where the only people that will talk to you are in the Philippines, go to Juniper and the US Airways Mastercard. They read from a script and do not have answers to any questions. I particularly liked sitting around for hours waiting for a promised call from a supervisor. The so-called supervisor in the Philippines called two days later and told me that if I wanted the issue escalated, I needed to send in a letter by mail to Juniper Bank. Thanks for all you do in exchange for $100 in annual fees and the money you made off $30k of charges this year. Appreciate it.

Was told by a rep that there would be no late fees or returned payment fees applied to my account after a mix up with payment info. The lady specifically said to me, "ma'am, I'm not lying to you, there will be no fees applied to your account"...low and behold there are late fees and returned payment fees on my account. When I called to get these removed the manager said they cannot be removed even though their rep said they could be. Refused to listen to the recorded conversation where the rep told me these would not be applied to my account simply stating that there is nothing she can do. Her name is heather johnson - she was very rude.

I made two transaction online and was left a message on my cell phone shortly after directing me to contact a toll free number but not identifying the company leaving the message. I called the number and was prompted by a auto attendant to enter my complete social security number and zip code which, of course, I would not do. After pressing many prompts, i located a customer relationship manager who only identified herself by her first name and would not tell me the company until I asked her to do so. She informed me that she was employed with juniper bank who handles the credit card which i used on my online purchases. after we confirmed transactions, I told her I wished to speak with a supervisor or officer of the company because this verification process was absolutely litigious. she put me on hold for several minutes and returned to tell me that "everything has a purpose" to which I ended up hanging up because I knew I would never get anywhere. I canceled my card with this company immediately.

This goes back to mid-May when I was sent a new credit card because I was "upgraded" to a better card.

Juniper reduced my credit line from $11, 000 to $7650 after my credit card was stolen and they had to eat $200.00. Then, they raised my rate from 8.99% top 14.51% and put back the $200.00 on my card. I just got a letter informing me that as of November, my interest rate will be 19.99%. I have never had a late payment, over limit charge or any other trouble. I am canceling my card and transferring the balance. Write to the president or CEO and copy the FDIC. Many people are doing this, and the FDIC doesn't tolerate this crap. The more people who do this, the better chance we all have of screwing Juniper.

Barclays Bank Issue regarding barclay creditcard amount

I am holding this card for last 11 months and started using it few months back only. This is to inform you that I am not getting any statement regarding my Credit Card but daily getting 20 calls from your collection department and each time i am confirming my email id on demand but till now I have not received a single statement. Now a days, these daily calls are affecting my professional as well as my personal life. So I don't want to use this Barclaycard anymore.

I want to pay the entire amount which I have spend through my credit card (Except the interest amount and late payment fee), as I am not getting any statement from Bank. Regarding this issue I have spoken to customer care several times and updated the same address (as registered in your Dtatabase).I have asked many times to customer care executive to provide me the request number, but they refused each time by saying that they will execute the request as soon as possible.

The customer service site is provided so that you don't have to rely on the post for payments to be recieved. If you make your payments at the site it's counted as an on time payment as long as it's made before the cut off time. You also recieve a reference # so that if something does happen you have proof of your payment.
