CEO William Lynch is allowing troubled Sean Diddy Combs and his attorney Jonathan Davis to harass me. The two of them contacted the company and told them to remove all of my publications. Diddy has already gone to court for harassing his personal chef in Los Angeles. I'm afraid for my life and ask the FBI to intervene. Diddy is dangerous.
Read full review of Barnes & Noble BooksellersA book I bought online
I paid for a book. Had it delivered electronically. Didn't access it away (Did things with friends!) I read about 89 pages online. not sure if that was a sample or not. Had access to a page asking for a 13 digit #, that was supposed to be in an email. I have no email with anything but an order #, not the 13 digit number. Now I can't access anything - online, offline. This is a book I bought! This is totally unacceptable. I will never buy an electronic version of a book from Barnes & Noble EVER AGAIN. I read voraciously. The library is closed because of coronavirus. They have some books online I have been accessing. The book I bought is not online or in any Carnegie branch I have access to. I have bought other books online, but not through bn.com. guess that will continue. ONLY asking for Half Price gift cards in future!
Commentary on the Book of Revelation
On 4/29/20 I released a book for sale on B&N Press titled "Understanding the Book of Revelation: Translated Literally, Illustrated Lavishly, Interrogated Thoroughly." It is now 5/16 and the book has not yet been printed despite B&N's website which says to expect 3-5 days for a hardcover book to print. I have written four emails and received only delayed and generic responses. I have ordered $400 worth of books and while I am waiting for B&N to actually do its job, I am locked out of canceling my order or uploading any corrections to the text. According to B&N's actions, I just have to sit and wait for them to do their job with no recourse available to me. To add insult to injury, the U.S. Copyright Office requires that I send two copies of my book to the Library of Congress within 30 days of my application. This is now becoming impossible due to B&N's incompetence.
Magazine and tv channel subscriptions
I'm trying to cancel two auto pay subscriptions on my Barnes and Noble Account: Reader's Digest ($15.00/mo and SundanceNow ($6.00/mo). I'm on autopay using my credit card. I got into the BN website just fine, but when I tried to get into My Nook Library, all of a sudden, they don't know me. Each time I'd sign in, I got message to sign in. It just kept...

My name is Selene Rubio. I am a frequent shopper at Barnes and Noble. I got a divorce and decided to open my own membership last year before the holidays under my name rather than my ex husbands ect.. I am at your stores multiple times a month for I have 4 kids and we are always in need of something new to read. When I opened my account I wrote my information down. The person helping me seemed to be in a hurry. I asked her if she needed anything else and she said no. She was going to take the next person in line and submit the rest of my information later. Time went by. About two months ago I tried ordering something online and had a very hard time linking my membership card online. So I gave up. I made my order and received no discount on the books I ordered. The next time I was in the store I asked the cashier if he could see what was wrong with my card. He said there was nothing wrong with it other than the fact that my email had never been added to it. The person who opened my membership didnt do it after I left after all. I have no idea where all my information ended up. I asked him if he could please do it and after glancing up at the line and a loud sigh he said sure. I could sense his frustration so I said nevermind. Embarassed that I would hold up the line I said I'd try it another day. Instead of offering me any additional help he said ok and handed me my books. I cant remember much about him other than the fact that he had curly hair, darer skin, and reading glasses. I went home that day and tried calling the CS line and was on hold for almost an hour. For the fourth time I had no success. Now we are in quarantine. I have four kids at home in need of books. I am about to order online and once again I am unable to use my membership card. I have been on hold at CS once again for over 40 minutes. May I say this is nothing to be blamed on Covid-19 because in the past I have been on hold for so long I usually hang up before anyone gets on the phone. My question is, why did I pay for a membership I have only been able to use twice in the last six months because every time I have reached out for help there is no one there to help. Or they make me feel like I am asking for too much. This is absolutely ridiculous. I went from being a customer for over 15 years to not wanting anything to do with this store again. The location these events happened in was the location in Aliso.
Irvine has exceptional customer service and I wish I lived closer to that location instead. I am extremely disappointed.

book fair - barnes and noble paid us nothing and rendered no accounting
Barnes and Nobel reached out to our school through email. We didn't call them. Like others who posted here, we solicited parents, made posters, worked hard, attended the event which was VERY busy on a Sunday afternoon, and heard nothing back for two months. When I sent a written request for an accounting of the event, the Maple Grove Minnesota store manager called us at school and told us that our cash register sales totaled $631. He told me we had not made the minimum requirement of $1500. He then asked if our school would like to choose a clearance item from their clearance bin as payment. I kid you not.
I would expect a company as large as Barnes and Nobel to have a process for their book fares. I would expect they would follow a process with a written accounting and follow-through after the event. None of this was offered to our school. The way charitable institutions and third-party fundraisers ask for support affects people's trust and confidence in fundraising. I do not feel that Barnes and Nobel's fundraising program for schools is open, honest or respectful. In fact, their lack of reasonable steps to render any accounting what so ever, might be illegal. Knowing what I know now, I am forced to take reasonable steps to assess and manage the risks fundraising with Barnes and Nobel poses to those parents and friends who chose to take part in our charitable institution's activities. I feel this promotion has harmed my organization's work and reputation.
auto membership renewal
I have clearly stated to B&N sales clerk that I do not want the membership to be auto-renewed, B&N deducted $27.25 from my bank account to renew annual membership without my permission. After one year later, there was another deduction of $27.25 after I have visited the B&N to stop the auto renewal of B&N. This is a fraud and bad practice by B&N. I am changing my bank card to stop B&N from deducting from my bank account.

Several years ago, 2014 was told I banned from Barnes & Nobles in union Square Barnes & Nobles> I was one or two Times Boisterious but when informed of my behaviour calmed down . The reason I was banned from an incident sitting in the area to the rear of Barnes & Nobles on the Third floor. I never got out of my chair. Quiet at the time A young girl of about eleven passed my table . I heard the ambiguous word like queer. I said there are anti discrimination laws . The young women stopped to hear what I said . She did not have stopI Stated the Anti Discrimination laws of the late 80's nIt is against the law to discriminate on so called race color nationality religion /creed age disability Mental/physical Marital status, perceived sexuality & or Actual Bi, Gay heterosexual, &/or Asexual. I saw her walk to what could be her mother who I think was Russian Or some Eastern European. She made a complaint because I stated the Anti -Discrimination law & I don'T think the manger at that time like the law. It was as though I was a Pervert for saying the Law. I am sure it was investigated. This is not Russia where you have to be 17 in Russia to See Beauty & the Beast. I did not do anything Criminal. They want me to sign this paper which I refused. I have a membership card & have made purchase in the Store at Union Square for the last two years without incident until This Monday the 9th of this month December 2019. I saw this same women Staff on several occasion in going to Barnes & Nobles. I don"t think she likes me a heavy set Perhaps Russian women perhaps in her 30's. She heard me mention the law to a male Staff She was at Customer Service. She must have reported me to this new Manger.Who I told him on the third floor I wanted to speak to the Manager which he stated he was the manger& made it clear I was not welcome at B&N although I have been coming there for over a year & a half without any incident. I told him I recited the Anti Discrimination law. I was not loud I have a membership card & a loyal customer & have shopped at other Barnes & Noble throughout the 5 Boros & Long Island. I must say you have made some changes in Staff that I like except that heavy set Women who I feel cause my expediate leave with the new manager. I implore you To be able to go to B&N at Union Square Park without being harassed. I know I have some enemies because I state the law & It is not against the law for minor &/or Adults to hear the Law. The First Amendment as long as I thought am not loud. This is not Russia The Middle East Or/& other Parts of Africa where are laws can be opposite our laws. I am glad that the Gay & Lesbian section is call LGBT that I suggested many years ago Because B& T is important. billed for a procedure I didn't have.
Received a bill dated 10-15-19 for a Bone Replace Graft 1st on 7-10-18 for $545.50. I did not have a bone graft. Why am I getting a bill 15 months later for a procedure I didn't have? I would like this bill absolved and a letter from Aspen Dental stating it has been absolved. I called the local office and was told a ticket would be sent. I don't know what that is and why the office couldn't take care of this bill?
Read full review of Barnes & Noble Booksellersthe book "if you give a pig the white house"
Up until recently, Barnes & Noble has shown increasing antipathy toward the incumbent President. This book goes too far. Had you been equally willing to sell material lampooning Barack Obama to this point, I would be saying nothing. You have a decision to make: Either you sell material that is even handed, which means that this vicious parody would be removed, or you continue to show your contempt for both the incumbent President and the American People. It is your choice. If you decide to continue on the path you are on now, you will find yourself losing business in increasing increments. I for one shall be boycotting your establishment. It is quite a disappointment for me. I used to be quite fond of your book store. Do note the past tense.
if you give a pig the white house
This is not an acceptable book to be having for children, in your stores. If this had been done about the Kenyan that was the previous administration, all hell would have broken out and you would not have even considered selling it on your site or in your store. I did have a membership with your store purchasing program. Did have, being the key words. I will no longer be doing business with your stores, with your lack of taste, judgement, and patriotism. I hope you find your decision to sell this garbage is the downfall of B & N.
if you give a pig the white house
Shame on you for carrying this "book". "How dare you"? To target children with such inflammatory political garbage is reprehensible. We should be teaching our youth respect for others, not ugly name-calling and deviciveness. Name me a book you supplied that attacked Obama like this. Demonstrating your political partisanship is bad enough in the adult section. Aren't you struggling enough against the decline of the written word?
This book is in the humor section, not the children’s, and is a parody. It is carried at other retailers like Walmart and previously Target until people like you surprised free speech. Oh and Amazon sells it too. There were some books like this about Obama, Hillary, and even Bush back in the day. Parody material usually is prominent during a politicians time in office.
the book entitled if you give a pig the white house
I will no longer be shopping in any of your stores until this vile and disgusting book is removed. The fact that such hate is being directed at our President and presented as a subject to teach children is despicable. I am 100% certain it never would be on your shelves if it had been pictured with former President Obama. This is a totally unacceptable treatment of our duly elected President! I am throughly and completely disgusted. You should be ashamed, as should the publisher and ESPECIALLY the author.
if you give a pig the white house!!
For years, I have supported Barnes and Noble. Instead of ordering from Amazon, I chose to go go to a real bookstore!
No longer will I do so. This is so disrespectful, to 63 million Americans! Our President, our country!
Bad decision. you have lost lots of customers. Within the next 2-3 years, you will no longer exist.
Sorry to see you go, but I will never step foot in your stores again, as will many others.
Hope it was worth it.
Seeing the book, A Pig in the White House, was disgusting!

Seriously?
I will never enter a place that disrespects our President.
Shame on you.
if you give a pig a white house book
Why would you carry this book ? Parody or not it is disrespectful to our President. I will no longer purchase anything from Barnes and Noble. I am ashamed that I have brought my grandkids to pick books even though I don't think they would understand the humor.
As an avid reader, I have encouraged my grands to read read read, but we will no longer be purchasing or visiting B&N. My family tries to teach our kids and gks about respect. Respect for teachers, police officers, elderly, women etc. This store goes against all of teachings. Done with you!
This is what America has come to? I'm not pro Trump and I think this is in bad taste and disgusting 🤔
if you give a pig the white house
The vitriolic and visceral H-A-T-R-E-D towards President Trump is astounding! It's bad enough this highly offensive book is shared among adults, but this is extremely disgraceful to display among children's books! As badly as President Trump is hated, he will not be in the White House forever - for the children's sake, why can't you honor the office of presidency even if you don't think he does? Had this book been written about satirizing President Obama or President Clinton, you would've made absolute sure the book wouldn't see the light of day (as you should!). This is utterly disgusting and quite revealing of your overall corporate character.
Upon learning about the disgusting and vile book "If You Give A Pig the White House" and that it was actually for sale in your children's section I can not remain silent. It is adult parody. I realize this is a free country and you can get smutty literature published, but for a book store such as yours I didn't expect this. This book is disrespectful and demeaning why would you want children to see this? Especially the page depicting Pres.Trump standing side by side with Kim jong-un and his arm around a shirtless Putin? Where is your sense of decency Barnes & Noble? Therefore I will boycott your store and I will tell everyone I know & come into contact how low base your store is. Absolutely disgusting!
I will NEVER do business with your company again! This book is disgusting to many of your regular customers...myself included. Just imagine if a book like this was published about President Obama! Would you have put that on your shelves? In the Children's section, no less! Unbelievable biased.
a book called "if you give a pig the whitehouse" by kaye fanouse
Why is this book in your store? This is absolutely disgusting, especially since it is targeting the minds of young children. I will never EVER shop your stores again if this book remains in your stores. I imagine if this was a parody on Obama, with is likeness to pig on the front . . . would that be OK for you? The fact that this book is being sold by Barnes and Noble speaks volumes about what you decide to sell . . .

barnes & noble membership
I never authorized sign-up for a B&N Membership in the first place. I suspect a clerk signed me up unknowingly to me, maybe because there was an incentive for them to do so. I called the B&N Membership Number 866-238-7323 and while they were quick to cancel the current renewal, I also asked for a refund for the charge I didn't notice for this last year. They said they could only refund charges within 30 days. I said, okay so your clerk fraudulently signs me up for this membership, and you're saying I'm stuck paying because I have to catch it sooner. The customer service rep says I can go to my local store (which after verification, is not local to me). I said, fine, please send me the agreement I signed for this membership and here's where it gets obviously shady. The rep tells me only the local store would have that and I have to go into the store. I challenged her on this and said that isn't it true that you would have patrons sign these agreements with an electronic signature. She didn't answer that and repeated that the local store is the only one that would have that. Me: really? Barnes and Noble, right at the POS system, accepts signature for a recurring membership agreement but only retains those agreements in the local store. I work in technology and while that's possible, it sounds like complete and utter BS and a horrible business practice on B&N's part if it's even true. Knowing this was most likely BS, I called the local store to test this, and the local General Manager said to call the Membership line (which had just told me that I had to call the local store). The GM also confirmed that the local store would not have any copies of my signature consenting to sign up for the membership. So B&N incentives retail employees heavily to sign up memberships, some bad apples probably do so without patron's consent, and apparently that's my problem not B&N. So B&N can keep the $25 I guess and lose the life time value of me as a customer (probably a few hundred minimum to $1000+). I like brick/mortar book stores more than online, but if this is what I have to deal with, Amazon it is! I'm not even so mad about the retail employee signing me up, I get B&N cannot do a ton to prevent that per se, but the customer service handling when I complained and asked to see my signature on the agreement is what became incredibly frustrating. It gets even better, I was given a 'corporate customer service number.' I spoke to a lady there, that told me they cannot email it to me, because she doesn't have it, only 'corporate has it.' Wait, you were supposed to be corporate customer service, who am I even speaking to then? Well, this is corporate, but that request has to go to 'like head corporate' (at this point she was fumbling through words a lot and obviously a bit confused herself). Then she said they cannot email it to me, I'll have to submit a letter to a PO box, etc.. At that point, I threw in the towel, you can keep the less than $100 in membership fees and I'll just never buy from Barnes and Noble again.
