Tub to shower conversion
After listening to salesman for about 2.5 hrs i decided to purchase product. We were told that the installers were all trained in Chicago at the corporate office and that there would be three installers to do the job fast and professional. We were scheduled for thursday was cancelled out the day before and rescheduled for Saturday. Instead of getting three installers we got a Man and his wife who were there from 8 AM to 8 PM. Also the salesman told me it would be no problem if the floor drain was not centered on the floor pan , Wel it was a problem and now we have a 4" platform we have to step up on to get in the shower. The technician was polite and did an OK job so I am really not complaining about him but the fact that we were not told the truth is not right, I ask the TECH. if he was trained in Chicago and he said no also he did not know of three man crews.I also called three days ago to have some caulking redone because it is cracking and not glued on straight was told someone would be there but have not heard anything. We spent over Ten thousand dollars on this install I think was a bit much can someone please help answer some questions. Thanks Mike Hanna [protected] We live in Leclaire Iowa
Desired outcome: I would like the caulking and trim piece fixed and possibly some sort of compensation because the job was not done as told it would be. I really do not believe we recieved a Ten Thousand dollar product.
Install/finish bathroom
On February 22,2021 we contracted with this company to complete a partially finished bathroom in our basement. The amount was $11,555.00 Here is what happened.
They stated they were a licensed contractor in St. Charles County, MO. This we found to be untrue.
They reduced the scope of the job after the contract was signed without reducing the price.
They promised zero percent financing for one year. They provided 8.98 percent. Our credit scores are outstanding. My signature was forged on the 8,99% credit application with Power Pay,
They demanded full payment before they would finish the job.
When asked about a building permit, they said: "Most people don't want one."
When the county learned of the project, they ticketed us for having work done by an unlicensed contractor. The path of least resistance was to become certified as a qualified homeowner. This required me to pass the exams on international building codes regarding plumbing and electrical. With much effort, I was able to do that. The county then allowed me to inspect the job and make any corrections required by the code.
We asked for a building inspection by the county and passed.
Desired outcome: $1000 for reduction of job scope. Interest paid to Power Pay, cost of building permit and Building Codes. Cost of four trips to the County Offices for testing.

Replace one shower with another shower, their workmanship is suppose to be 100% guaranteed so I would like them to take care of these problems.
I paid Bath Planet of Des Moines, Iowa, $15,000 for this project in April 2022, which is an outrageous amount of money for just changing out one shower for another shower. No plumbing changes and no drain changes, just a simple replacement. The shower bench and flooring are not what we agreed on. The worst problem is the base floor in the shower. The floor has 6 valley's in the floor so the water can drain to the center but these valley's are not necessary. There is a slant of over one inch which makes it dangerous to stand. This only causes us to slip because the floor is slanted too much. A technician came and put a non-slip coating on the floor but that didn't solve the problem, the valley's are still there. Their television ad shows showers with a flat floor and that is all I want. We also asked for a reinforcement wedge for under the shower seat. The seat has an awful squeak and we asked for a gusset be put on the underside of the seat that would hopefully correct that problem.
Desired outcome: I would like for Bath Planet to fix these issues or give us some money back so we can have someone fix these problems.
Acrylic shower not supposed to stain
When I met with the representative from bath planet he stated Better Homes and Garden backed their product with a 100% guarantee and showed me an article on his tablet with all the product information. He guaranteed me if there was any issues or I was unsatisfied with their product I just needed to contact you.
I’m not a complainer and I’m doing this on a whim as I’m a Nurse Practitioner in Urgent Care and I know from my surveys people are petty, picky and you can’t please them no matter what you do.
The purchase agreement is dated 11/4/21 but the shower wasn’t installed until January 14th, 2022 due to scheduling issues on my part and and their part.
I was told the shower was acrylic didn’t need to be cleaned but monthly, wouldn’t stain like my newly updated second bathroom with a fiberglass tub. It would be basically maintenance free. I had no issues with the installation. I had to finish the wall that was installed which wasn’t an issue. The problem came a few months later when the rust stains started to occur. You can only use certain cleaning supplies due to it being acrylic it takes me thirty minutes to clean this maintenance free shower which the grooves on the bottom of shower never completely come clean. The shower is washed down daily and we use a squeegee to the doors and wall after every use.
I have extremely hard water even with a water softener with rust removing salt.
We had an issue with the softener and it went out for a week and that was a nightmare. It took me an hour and a half of dawn power wash which is what I typically use to clean the shower and Kaboom with a soft sponge. I was exhausted by the time I was done.
We had a 60 x 38 shower put in which cost $16,705. I could have just put in the same type we did in the other bathroom for half the price and I would be spending half the time cleaning it as I could use rust removing chemicals.
The pictures enclosed are two weeks after the last cleaning. I’m cleaning my maintenance free shower ever two weeks and spending about 35 minutes on my hands and knees scrubbing a huge shower.
I would never recommend anyone with hard water getting an acrylic shower!
Desired outcome: Reimbursement per Better Home and Garden Guarantee
Will not give back $950 down payment
