doing work not authorized to do and giving me a big repair bill
On July 5th of this year I ran up on a curb and I messed up my tire and also my front end on the driver side I drove my car into big all the following day since it was closed and I'd always gotten good service there when I bought tires and did rotation and stuff like that I took it in there to a guy named Jose and I told him I needed to know what I had done damage was he told me that they would charge me $29 if I decided to take it somewhere else once they told me what it was going to cost I went he called me on Monday and told me that it was going to cost me approximately $3, 500 depending on what the knuckles cost Tuesday he called me and told me he found the knuckles and used Knuckles and that my car was going to cost me 4000 just over $4, 000 to this day I still don't know what damage I did they did repairs that I never authorized to do because I don't know what I actually did running over he gave me a parts list he gave me a little diagram but he has never told me what it was in his mind he heard me say repair stuff when I told him I was going to get it repaired no matter what but I wanted to know what the damage was I'm trying to resolve it with them they're not even bothering to pick up when I call or to return my calls I've contacted the corporate office Nationwide and I haven't got nothing back from them I want this resolved I want some of my money back
service
Rancho store in las vegas. There are 2 tire guys working just standing around and the mechanic is doing tired instead of doing a wheel alignment on my car. And he says he gets off at 5:00 and he is still here. Totally unfair to me the customer and this poor mechanic who is sweating cause you people cant afford fans for these guys. Poor management and lets not forget they work for at minimum wage. Should call labor board too on how badly u treat yr employees. Under paid over worked no air conditioner no fans and lazy employees except for this poor mechanic. So wrong.
quality of work
(1) In March of 2014 we took our 1972 Chevy truck (only a Sunday driver, less than 5000 miles since repair) to Big O in Springdale AR for replacement of the Upper A Frame bushings. Ever since that time we had noticed a banging noise and could not ever figure out what it was. This last week my husband decided to rotate the tires on the truck and found that the Upper A Frame bolts on the back were almost completely loose. Keep in mind that these are self locking nuts and will not back off, so therefore, in my opinion had not been tightened in the first place. This could have caused a deadly accident had the A Frame come completely loose and the truck would have lost control. Also, they aligned the front end on the truck and charged me for it. Anyone that knows anything about a vehicle knows that you CANNOT align a front end without the A frames being tight. So, I am not certain that they even did the alignment in the first place or they would have caught the mistake. When I spoke to the manager to tell him he said that there was nothing that he could do about it. I think at the very least they could align the front end since it is clearly a mistake on their part, but that is moot at this point.
(2) Forward to last week again. My husband bought new tires for his vehicle one week ago today. From the time that he left the shop he noticed a bad shimmy on the front right. He looked when he got home and there were no weights on the right front where they balanced them. So on Thursday he ran back by there and wanted them to look and they assured him, even argumentative, that there were weights on the wheel on the inside. My husband had already taken a mirror and a flashlight and looked and there were no weights. He subsequently stopped at another tire shop on his way home and had them remove the wheel and guess what NO WEIGHTS! We have 5 vehicles all of which have tires on them from Big O and two of the vehicles are on their 2nd set from there. We will no longer be doing business with Big O in Sprindgale, Arkansas. Their workmanship at that location is terrible and frankly not safe. I will not recommend them to anyone.
Thank you for your time.

oil leak check
I took my car to Big O tires in blaine off university tuesday morning 7/10/18. and had then check for a oil leak. They explained they would degress the engine and than add dye to the oil. After they did there service i got my car back moments after pulling out their parking lot my cars engine light comes on and i stall. i didnt make it far so i walked back in explain to the guy what happened. they check my car and it doesnt turn on for them they tell me some sensor must of got wet and that i just need to let it dry for me to drive it
I waited 2 hours for them to finally give me my car back and it starts up but its misfiring really bad. I check the code it was cylinder 2 P0302 so i call then friday 7/13 they schedule me for saturday 12 at noon 7/14. I drop of the car for them to check it. I explain the misfring and also told them my spealers werent working anymore they said they got nothing to do with the speaker and even tho nothing was wrong with them i leave it alone because im more worried about the misfire when i get it back code was cleared but still having misfires when driving. They told me one of my spark plug wires must of got wet and short circuit the plug. Explained to me how there mechanics that knows about rotary engines isnt in and said they couldnt do anything about it. I take my car back and try driving it like normal its my daily car. So now im here its sunday afternoon 2pm 7/15 and my car stalls on me getting off the free way. Im stalled on a busy street had to push my car to a parking lot i call them up and explain that im stalled and all the guy could say was" what do u want me to do about it" i told him that my car was perfectly fine no engine light no misfiring before i brought the car in he tried to tell me my car already had a fault and are design to get wet so there nothing they can do about it unless i want to pay to fix it. My car ran perfectly no engine light was on prior to taking it to this shop i want some compensation for the hassle im getting put through just for using Big O tires never again well i use any of your branches and im thinking about a law suit for damages to my car
oil change
On one of the Last two oil changes Big O Tires in Seymour Indiana forgot to put the skid plate back on my Civic. They also torqued the drain plug so tight I could not remove it to change my oil myself
Called them they offered to change my oil with my oil and filter I bought for no labor cost. They told me there was no way the yleft the skid plate off .
Took the car in purchased a new drain plug with crush washer and told the manager to tighten the oil plug 1/4 turn past hand tight
Got Home because I did not trust them Put the car up on jacks and discovered the New oil plug hand no washer and was HAND LOOSE.
Now I have a leak until I change the oil again. In addition I could have run the car out of oil If I had not checked their work.
Big O Tires in Seymour Indiana is not to be trusted.
alignment
The guy in the front desk is very wired and rude I give them the car for Alignment at 1:00pm and they told me will be ready by 4:00 PM I wait till 6:00 PM and no body move it from the parking. And they said you bring it tomorrow. I spent $30 using uber and waiting time and all what he said you ca bring your car tomorrow after I paid the coupon and redeemed from groupon
south rainbow branch sold me a discontinued tire last week
Last week - week of 6/8/15
Big o tires south rainbow branch took nearly 3-hours to not repair my big o-purchased nitto crosstek tire that had 35, 000 miles on it and then sold me a discontinued nitto crosstek mode tire.
This week, I found the original sales manager from south rainbow who is great, and is the one who sold us the original nitto crosstek tires in late 2014. He is now at the big o tire centennial center branch. He informed us that that tire is discontinued. When and where did we buy it?! Big o, really?! Last week, really?!
So we bought (3) new nitto crosstek 2 model tires (the current model) from him and his branch.
I want the 4th tire, the discontinued tire sold to us "new" last week, replaced with the current model, crosstek 2.
At no cost - we already paid the "new tire" price for parts, & labor, on the "discontinued" tire.
Please and thank you.
If not, I will be reporting this terrible customer service and sale of a discontinued tire model at a "new/current" tire model price to yelp, the better business bureau, the local news affiliate stations in las vegas - channel 3 (nbc), channel 5 (fox), channel 8 (cbs), channel 13 (abc).
Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter in a fair, customer service-like manner.
Longtime, loyal, repeat big o tire customer with multiple cars and even more referrals.
Respectfully,

big o tire protection plan is a scam
First of all if you are a women you are at a disadvantage with this company. 28 months 25, 000 miles ago, we purchased from big o a michellin 55, 000 mile tire with an optional $30 tire protection package ("tpp"). My wife brought in the tire with a nail in side wall requiring a replacement. Big o sold her a replacement for almost $300 and did not remind her of the tpp. When I came back with the paper work proving the purchase of the tpp, big o rudely refused to honor the tpp, saying the tire was not covered. Clearly according to their warranty the tire is automatically supposed to be replaced without prorating anytime in the first 36 months. https://media.tbccentral.com/images/content/warranty/warrantypad-rev.12-2012-front.pdf
The tire is only supposed to be pro-rated after the 36 months.
Further, we found out that because the tire was within the 55k mile useful life, the tire was covered under the manufacturer's pro-rated warranty. Big o likely went back to the manufacturer to honor the warranty but screwed us.
Better to use discount tire or better yet, costco.
tires purchased
I was living in Elko nevada last year, I purchased a set of 4 tires from the elko store.. I moved to Idaho in January and had to purchase some snow tires...in Idaho.. I went to put the original tires I bought in Elko on and one tire is a different size and different name brand.. close in spelling but different.. I have been driving with one bad tire and big o Elko says it is my problem.. so I still have snow tires on and a set of bad tires.. I didn't realize I was to check each tire before I drove off the lot to make sure they where all the right size.. I will be posting on the Elko Facebook pages on how horrible customer service was to fix there mistake.. especially when there is a warranty on the tires and they made the.. if that is your company standards I will defently make sure the public knows that... and defently will not support a company like yours..
It should be called big - oh they are about as poor as iffy lube shops.. Let the word of the nature of big - oh all are a franchise and individually owned.. The name big-o(h) is what happens when you need support with anything purchased from them. Corporate runs a thrid pary compliant service and sends the complaint back to the orignal store. It looks like a chain but you are doing business with a single company.. Dont be be fooled. At least tires plus and americas / discount is a single company when help is needed.
service
Walked into the Lebanon Indiana store asked for an inspection of my wife's jeep after she had complaints of it making sounds. Her dad and I had previously worked on repairing such noise after having it looked at by big o tires. Didn't fix the problem so we decided that we didn't have the time to work on it anymore decided we were going to have it done by a shop. Well we attempted to have them look at the jeep with failure because of one of the workers which I'm assuming is a manager said we will not accept your business because he assumed I would be doing the work. I brought it in for them todo work that it might need. I was a frequent customer of buying tires and having small work done such as alignments but as of today I will no longer use big o tire service due to this rudeness this company has shown today. It's outrages that they think they can just turn people down. They are a auto service station and apparently get to chose there customers
coolant flush, tire rotation, tire patch
On November 11th 2017, I scheduled my 2004 Chevy Suburban, via the NTB website, for services (coolant flush, tire rotation, and tire patch) scheduled for 12:30 pm on November 12th, the following day, at what was called NTB Robert Street West St. Paul but is now Big O Tires, I dropped my truck off at 12:30 for the coolant flush, tire rotation, and tire patch on the right rear tire. I had paid the extra money last year for warranty, when I originally bought my tires, for free tire rotations and free tire repair. I was called at 6:15 to come pick up my truck, and was told all is well. I pay for my coolant flush, they told me they took care of the leaking tire and rotation, and I was on my way. The truck did not get use for about 3 weeks, as we were out of town, and had another vehicle to use at the time. When we returned from our trip, my right rear tire is flat and still in the same position it was, and I have leaked dex-cool coolant all over the place. Upon inspection it appears that the bottom radiator hose was removed, and not put back on correctly. After finding out that they only use Valvoline Maxlife Universal coolant, and not dex-cool, the tech. apparently took that line off, for whatever reason, and then put it back on without ever doing the flush.
They NEVER did the coolant flush, they NEVER rotated the tires, and my tire was NOT patched, as they said. Literally took my money, and sent me out the door with a vehicle that needed attention!
I tried to call that location, but could not get through. After a google search, I see that location is permanently closed. I call NTB corporate office on 11/30/17, and was told by the young man on the phone that he will have someone call me back, as they are in a transition from NTB to Big O Tires. Seemed fishy so I asked, "Do you even have my number?", he replied, "yes, we will call you back". I never heard from anyone, so on 12/1/17 I called back and spoke with a woman who listened to my issue, put me on hold for a bit, then returned to say that although it is now Big O Tires, the same team is still at that location, and after talking with the manager Eric, that everything would be taken care of promptly and in short order. I dropped the truck off on 12/3/17 at the West St. Paul location at 12:00 noon. After speaking with Eric, he said no one from corporate ever talked with him, and that he didn't know what I was talking about. I did not get an apology, but he said he would take care of it. I picked my vehicle up at 6:30 pm that same day, and was told everything was taken care of. Still no apology, but I did get a "hope we don't have to see your truck again soon". Not very reassuring or professional.
On Tuesday 12/5/17, I came out from work to a flat tire on the same side, same position.
So they did the coolant flush, it seems, but did not rotate the tires, or fix the leaking tire again!
Road side assistance filled my tire up for me so I could get home. I promptly called NTB again on 12/6/17, and was told that this is now Big O Tire's problem. So I called Big O corporate office that same day. I did not want to bring my vehicle back to that location, and really just wanted some assurances that if I brought it to another location I would not be charged for the rotation and tire repair. She said she would escalate this issue and I should be hearing back from someone right away. I never heard from anyone, so I contacted the Cottage Grove store myself on 12/9/17 and told the manager my story. She said she would take care of the rotation and tire, and it wouldn't cost a thing. They did take care of the tires in a timely manner and very professionally.
All seemed to be going well until the sub zero temperatures came. My wife was using the truck to run errands at 11:00am on 12/30/17. It was -12 degrees that day. After warming the truck up for a bit, she left the house. About a mile down the highway the temperature gauge starts to rise very quickly, and all of a sudden, before she could even pull over there was a loud pop, lots of hissing, smoke, and terrible noises. The truck would not start again. I went and picked her up, and upon inspection, I have slush and ice in what was left of the coolant. We left it for a couple of hours, then returned to try and start it. It did start, but now there is a loud knocking noise and the engine is misfiring. We were able to use a friends trailer to get it home, but it will not stay running, the engine is knocking, and the coolant is empty. Turns out after reading my receipt for the flush, they used Maxlife Universal coolant from a concentrated drum (VAL719008), that necessitates the technician to make the correct mixture of coolant to water ratio, to guard against overheating and/or freezing. The correct mixture of this coolant, according to Valvoline, should protect my engine up to -50 degrees. There should be no reason for my coolant freezing, except via a bad mixture with too much water.
I called Big O Tires corporate office again on 12/30/17 to tell them I need to talk to someone ASAP, as now my vehicle is dead, and full of problems, and needs to be seen by a certified mechanic. After speaking with Erica, she explained that they were having a hard time between the transition from NTB to Big O Tires, and could not find record of my original inquiries and complaints. She eventually found them, gave me a reference number, and assured me that this has been expedited to the highest levels.
It is now Sunday, January 7th, and my truck still sits dead in my driveway. I have not heard a thing from anyone, and am chasing my tail to figure out how to get to work daily. My patience is at its end with this company. Please help. We are out time and money because of this.
broken headlamp assembly
I bought some tires from Big O over a year ago, Big O was fantastic at the north Glenstone location in Springfield MO. So when I needed a quick state inspection, I figured I would give them another shot.
I took my 2007 Mazda CX-7 to Big O on Republic Road in Springfield MO for a state inspection. My passenger side headlight had just went out a few days prior to this incident. Instead of messing with it, I figured I would just pay the shop to replace it. I was told they would get me right in, after waiting an hour and a half (literally)I asked to if it would be much longer, the manager apologized and said they forgot about me and made sure that I was next in line. I should have left then.
Of course I failed for my headlight, I asked them to replace it so I could pass. While changing out my light, they broke my headlight assembly! The manager told me that he would check out some numbers and get back to me about replacing it for me. After several calls to the store over the next week, the manager informed me that his best price was $560 for parts, but we could work something out.
During our next conversation he said that I would have to buy the whole assembly and Big O would only cover labor... for a part they broke in the first place! After several calls to salvage yards I found one for $225 plus tax $241.82, called Big O, I explained what happened to the Assistant Manager who was there at the time, he told me to bring it in, he would take care of me. He installed my headlamp, it works great. He then said, ok, let me put the paperwork in for you to get a refund on my cost if the headlamp, because it was their fault in the first place. He took copies of everything I had, then told me that I would get a check from Big O, or the parent company on 8-10 weeks, that was June 19th... 12 weeks ago.
I went back to Big O, the assistant manager said that he had no control of the checks and that I needed to contact Big O. Through this whole experience, I have had to be proactive and push to get anything done, my advice to all is not to use Big O on Republic Rd
flat tire less than one hour later and leaking oil
On September 6, I went to Big-O on 6510 Indiana St in Arvada, CO 80007.
To patch a flat, I was told I needed new tires and a power steering flush. When I returned, I was then told I need a power steering pump and a new oil pan/gasket. I had replaced. within 1 hour of receiving and only driving 4 1/2 -5 miles, my tire had blown out and also oil leaking. The lugs were extremely east to remove and could have been do so with a socket wrench. After returning back to Big-O after changing my flat, I was met with excuses form sales associate Jessie Kolbe and was told my oil is leaking because the "front seal is out", why was this information now made available to be before making a decision before replacing my oil pan and why is this not listed on my paperwork. I'm very concerned with the quality of work that was done. I have used Big-O for many years and have no had any issues.
customer service
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Iryna Kavetska. I was in one of your shop on September 02 2017, located at 178 E South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84111 United States, to have one of my tires repaired. However, the tire wasn’t repairable but in the process of removing that tire and installing the spare the fender on the passenger side of my vehicle was scratched. And Nissan emblem of the wheel was broken off. Please see the attached. This vehicle is on lease. As you may know, at the time of returning the lease vehicles all of the damages will be charged to the owner. I decided to move with the different candidate for the tire change, and was disrespectfully treated with the stuff. So I would like to ask you to cover the cost of the repairing the scratch and the emblem that were caused by your employee of one of your shops.
Please contact with any questions at [protected].
Thank you!
product, service, parts, staff, owner
Came in for an alignment and was talked into an additional work related to the front end adding up to $3000.00. Worked was done and days later the gear box went out was replaced and like clock work the gear box went out again, keep in mind this made the truck pull hard to right and veer back and forth left/right. After being very frustrated I was told that the new gear box needed to be broke in, and days later it was squealing and whining and then the power steering pump was acting up. Long story short the gear box is still bad the power steering pump is leaking, they lost my center cap on one of my wheels, the truck drives HORRIBLE, cant keep it on the road. Currently the truck is at another shop working on fixing the issues that Big O couldnt seem to accomplish. Asked for a full refund and was told to basically go to hell by a corporate manager, worst experience of my life and the truck is still broke/not drive able currently. This place is a joke the staff is incompetent, and could care less about the customer, they are all about making money at your expense. I learned my lesson from this franchise BiG O Tires and will never go back. I am really considering getting a laywer and taking them to small claims court and suing for the amount from them and the new shop where it is at now, plus my damages and lost time and money. Buyer be where learn from my horrible experience!
Marshall 396
I have tried to contact anyone at corporate and all I get is the runaround that this is a franchise and I need to deal with the shop directly. I have to drive by the shop everyday to get home and it always disgust me of how I was treated and robbed from. I am in the process of working with another shop still to figure out why the truck still drives bad and has lots of vibration in the front end. I am still very upset and want my monies back since I was basically screwed by Big O Tires and they could care less. Corporate told me that refunds don't happen and to deal with the shop itself, so basically I feel like I was told to go to hell as they smiled and took advantage of the next person in line.
Wish I read this review before. Did you try calling CEO of Big-O Tires John Kairys at [protected], Ext. 2800 or director of communications Regina M. Tracy (M) [protected] to discuss the matter?
tires change turned near fatal
Recently had new tires put on by the Big O in Arvada, CO on 64th and Indiana. They had done a bit of other work for us as well. Initially they were very helpful in every way. Now, 2 months (5000 miles) later when we brought the car back because 4 out of 5 lug nuts snapped off while driving down Floyd Hill on I-70 doing 75 mph with my wife and kids in the car, they want to charge me $488 to fix the damage! The guy on the phone, I think his name was Adia, flat out said that they looked as though they were over tightened. They they looked different then other snapped off bolts he had seen. Then immediately tried back-tracking and explaining why it's impossible to over tighten the bolts. All I know is that they put the new tire on and 2 months (5000 miles) later its nearly comes off while driving with my family in the car. Guess it's time to get a lawyer!
After speaking with a regional manager they decided to go ahead and take care of the problem! Well done Big O! In the end customer service is why I keep coming back. THANK YOU!
my tire under warranty and big o refused to fix my tire
I am now driving on a doughnut tire on the passenger back tire my tire that went bad is still under warranty and I took my car to the closest big o wich was located in Brandenburg ky and a employee name Wendy was very rude to me and I showed her my receipts and it plainly says on the back of my receipt 3 yrs warranty and she said she wasn't going to replace my tire and I had to take it back to the original store where I got the tires wich was store 16 in Elizabethtown ky and I talked to Jennifer on the phone at the big o in etown she told me Monday I could bring my car in but that didn't mean she was going to replace or fix my tire either she said she would have to look at the tire to see it ok so Wendy in Brandenburg ky told me that if she replaced my tire that would be like them giving away free tires all day ok that was not appropriate for her to tell me when she had my receipts and warranty in her hand like I told her that's what I bought them at big o for because it's supposed to be a nationwide warranty on my tires that's what I paid for and I didn't want anything for free I just wanted my tires that was bad fixed or replaced due to my warranty is still good
So I still have a doughnut tire on the passenger back side of my car and my other tires have slow leaks as well every one of my tires are big o
Please get back to me as soon as possible thanks and I want my tires replaced under the warranty that I paid for or I'm going to call the better business bureau and then call my attorney
oil change
I had always taken my car to another shop or to the dealer for service. I had recently purchased new tires (price was good but then they add on various charges that brought their price up to that of competition) from Big O because they had built a new shop very near where I live, so I decided to try them for service. I had a coupon from them for a $24.95 basic oil change. Since my car requires Dexo oil the coupon stated it would be $10.00 off. I was charged $51.15 and when I presented the coupon I was told I was being charged$ 28.95 and it would include a free tire rotation. But when I got home I noticed that I had been charged the $51.15 amount so I sent an e-mail summary saying I expected to have the coupon amount honored. That would have been $41.15 which was $1.20 more than what the dealership would have charged. Plus the dealer would have reset the TPMS calibration which Big O charges extra for. I did get a call from a manager who stated that if I came in he would make a refund adjustment so the next morning I went in and he gave me the "I thought I was wrong once, but was mistaken" speech. He stated that because it was synthetic oil the charge was correct and that he hoped I would come back because they were honest. I think the old adage, "You don't get a second chance to make a good first impression" applies here. What has happened to honesty, integrity, trust and clarity as business foundations? So with Big O, be aware of their bait and switch tactics and add-ons.
worst customer service!
If a company & manager can't admit they failed to meet their own standards and holds their own customers in contempt, they are not worth doing business with. I used to be a regular at this Big-O until I had the unfortunate customer experience of dealing with Burt. I had the gall of questioning Burt regarding the price tag on a repair quote but because I was in a bind decided to go ahead with the repair anyway. The next morning, the vehicle's warning lights indicated that they failed to complete the job by replacing the fluids - though they charged me for the fluids and $93/hr for "quality" service. Since it was 5am, I had to find a gas station to purchase & put in the fluids myself. When I called the next week to complain, Burt brushed off my complaint as no big deal and literally said "Is that all you're calling about?" I explained that I was charged for something not received and he told me I had a chip on my shoulder from the first price quote but that he would refund the $10 for fluid. Then he went on to defend the cost & quality of their service and parts. Apparently, errors are acceptable at this Big-O.
honesty
I took my car in for 2 front tires. Left my 1987 Chevy Camaro with Bog o Tires all day. Stopped by to pay for it and the 1st thing the mechanic asked was, are you having problems with the driver side door handle? and i said, yea i accidentally pulled to hard on that handle and puled it out of the socket, afterwards put a bigger sheet metal screw in its place and it holds fine. and that is what i thought he was talking about, so he didt say anything after that and i proceeded to pay the bill. so i took my moms car home and a friend brought me back to get my car. It wasn't till yesterday after work, I noticed the door opening lever was bent out. That had to have been what he was talking about as he brought it up, in the first place. I can and will send you pics of this lever, NOT handle as the mechanic described it, asap. I am only asking that the broken lever be replaced. In conclusion, It appears to me the mechanic pulled the door shut by using the DOOR OPENER LEVER, and not the DOOR CLOSING HANDLE, and broke it to where it has to be replaced. Thank you signed, Tobin E. Blank
