Plasma donation
I would highly recommend you avoid donating plasma at Biolife of Tukwilla. They are butchers. I've attached pics of what they've done to my wife's arms. This isn't just a once in a while issue. Probably 75% of the times we donated, we ended up with ugly marks, bruises or hematomas. One of their phlebotomists, Noah is extremely bad. The damage shown in the...

Hello! I've been a donor for a week and have had the chance to talk to multiple people who donate at this facility as well. However, based on review this isn't just a one facility issue it's a corporation issue. I think I speak for everyone when we are aware that these things do take some time, however, people have jobs they have to get to and it would be a lot less stressful on your workers as well as your donors if this process was more organized. Something needs to be put in place where donors can check their temperature, (1) fill out computer questionnaire, (2) vitals checked (3) donate. I say this because the order a lot of the time is confusing and no one knows where to go each time. Secondly, there's way too many people allowed in one time slot which causes around 20 people waiting to donate at the same time. The best solution would be either the corporation needs to open another day or pay individuals for the extra time we are forced to wait. A must is there needs to be an application online which allows only 3 people at a time frame for at least 30 minutes in between. Would love to help Biolife set this up. Thanks !
Desired outcome: change of order/pace/new website application
coupon code number not put in correctly for compensation
To whom it may concern,
The Biolife at Pat booker rd in. universal city, Texas, 78148. I did a total of donations the following dates (12/04, 12/06, 12/12, 12/14) and the amounts that I was supposed to be paid were 90, 90, 90, 100, 100, 110, 110, 110 but the problem is that the location signed me up with the wrong coupon code and I have not been paid those amounts at all . They reassured me that it would be corrected and it is well documented as well. To this day it has not been corrected and I then proceeded to call back n was told that code 670-2009 was correctly put in but once again the pay doesn't match what i was promised. I would appreciate if I can get this resolved and here is my phone number [protected] and my email is [protected]@gmail.com. Thank you and have a good day.
Desired outcome: correct payment asap

Transgender Discrimination
The first time I donated(11/10/21), the physician doing my physical asked me a lot of personal questions about my transition (I am a transgender man) that was not related to my ability to donate. One of these questions was whether or not I was in therapy. She then proceeded to "complain" to me about her nephew. This complaining was really just her disrespecting her nephew's identity and continually misgendering him. I do not know why she was misgendering him but, regardless, this is an explicit act of transphobia.
Then, she proceeded to defer me for the day because she wanted to "make sure" that I would be able to donate while on testosterone. However, she stated before that is was not required to do so. Even if it were required, hormone therapy only gives trans people the same or less levels of hormones as cisgender people. There should have been no reason to defer me other than transphobia and/or ignorance.
Her behavior was incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional. Biolife staff should not be treating any of their patients the way she treated me.
Additionally, I have been told there is no option for me to be called by my correct name and pronouns. I understand needing my legal name, but it is very simple to implement a preferred name line in the client's information. This allows for patients to feel more comfortable and welcomed which results in more donations. That being said, every time I donate I feel extremely uncomfortable and I do not feel welcome. I come in and leave as fast as I can.
Desired outcome: A preferred name option should be available at Biolife. Biolife staff should not do or say transphobic things to their patients, whether the patient is transgender or not.

Worker applied promo code wrong
I received an email on Nov. 29 with a promo code saying $20 first visit, $100 second. I gave the promo code and plasma that day, was paid $20 then on Dec. 5 I gave and was compensated $20. I called that day and was told the worker entered the code on Nov. 29 but it didn't take effect until Dec. 5. A manager would correct it. Today after asking about it I was told there's no way to correct it so I'm just out that $80. Doesn't sit right with me why this can't be corrected or how it's my fault.
Desired outcome: To be compensated as promised

Payment/Account incorrect
On December 10th I donated plasma and was credited $100 to my account. Previously there was $3 in my account. My account balance should have been $103. I used the BioLife card one time for $71. My balance should be $32. In reality after I use the card one time for $71 suddenly my balance was minus $89. I am requesting that my balance be returned to $32 or I will seek fraud charges against the BioLife corporation. Thank you.
Desired outcome: Return my balance to $32.
Good company but I don't appreciate the very severe inconvenience of my account balance being so drastically incorrect.

Discrimination
My husband and I were just transfered to Great Falls, MT. Upon arrival I discovered there is no CSL Plasma here where I have been donating for 2 years. I called the BioLife here and was told I couldn't donate because I was considered a transient. I was beyond insulted and shocked. We found a cabin here that fit our needs so we moved in. Let me just say yes we have to travel for his work but no job is less than 6 months but normally a year or 2. There is no difference between being in an apartment or at this cabin. I hardly consider 1200.00 a month a transient lifestyle. I really enjoy donating and happen to b a great donor. It feels great to b able to help others while helping me out as well. I'm happy to do it. I would understand if we were just here for a few days, a week, or a month. But, this is long term and to b discriminated against because of where we r living is offensive. Especially if donors r at an all time high. I ve never had any issues when I explained our situation and have an address that mail and packages come too. All im asking is to b able to donate. I hope u will allow me to do so. Thank u for ur time.

Hello. I am making a complaint for an untruth judge of character and discrimination. There was a spoken defamation based solely on an opinion and not a fact. This has had an effect of the my livihood and reputation. I have documentation and spoke with my doctor who also reached out to you and still the slander is still placed on my judgement of character which is only based on opinion and is not factual. I would like the institution to know this is not okay. It is not okay to make accusations from something that is not true. And when given documentation by a physician to show proof to determine eligibility is a fact and not a known slander of false statements made by your institution. Please be reminded how your opinion on someone does effect their life. And to have proof of facts and not rumors that determine your decision. Thank you for your time.
Donating plasma
I have been donating plasma a couple of times already, I was a new patient, I was referred by my friend. I was as a new donor physical donation so this past Sunday December 5th I was going to my fifth donation. I waited awhile to give my donation because the day before the system was down so the next day it was busy and a lot of new donors which they always let the first time donors cut the front of the line. I got screened and passed and off I went to donate, the same process but this time there was a new nurse because she had a difficult time poking my vein and finally she connects me and my vein started to itch and burn at that point something felt wrong because I had never experienced that. She left and I was getting anxious and sweaty so another nurse came and she checked me she checked my arm by this time my arm swelled up double the size of my arm. She called another nurse and the other nurse disconnected me from that vein and rapidly got my other arm but didn't do anything to my other Arm and from my understanding you are supposed to ice the bruised vein so it doesn't swell up and they didn't, the whole process continued and until I finished the donation from my left side vein, I told them I was in pain and until than they noticed my arm had swelled up a lot more, I couldn't stand the pain all they did at that pain was iced it. And they told me because I signed the waiver they really couldn't do anything. I couldn't drive that day I had my boyfriend pick me up. The next day I couldn't drive because I was in a lot of pain and swollen. I called the corporate manager on Tuesday because they are closed Mondays and until now I haven't gotten a called from anyone. I donate to help people and also because extra cash helps specially in this season but I never imagined it would've resulted this way. You go thinking the staff is well trained and know what they are doing and you never think about what could go wrong because you are trusting the staff is well trained
Desired outcome: I want to get paid for the day I had to call off from my job and extra for the inconvenience
I am still in pain and bruised all of my arm it’s been 4 days and haven’t received a call from anyone so dissatisfied and disgusted by the service and management.
It’s been five days and my arm still hurts and it’s still bruised.
Plasma Donating
I was deferred from donating at Janesville Bio Life for constructively criticizing how the process was being run, so inefficiently that wait times were an hour and a half. I've driven 60 Thousand miles to donate 1300 times over 20 years. I was a Porsche sales manager and it's been painful to see the director of this center SO mismanage. I would like to contact "higher ups" but have been prevented from "whistleblowing".
Desired outcome: An audit by Takeda, and replacing this director with someone that can run it effectively.
“Music”
I have asked several x's that the "music" they play @ Greenfield WI is more professional & more appropriate & more mainstream for everyone & less nerve racking for its customer base who would prefer to be relaxed while donating instead of being held captive for up to 2 hours listening to repetitious nerve racking rap & even gangsta rap that also has violent &/or sexual lyric content Today I am donating & being irritated by rap song after rap song. "Blame it on the alalalalcohol"? Really? Immediately followed by "Bomb [censored] pussy
Ma ooh, you got that bomb, know you got it
Ma ooh, you got some bomb [censored] pussy
Ma, I know you got that bomb bomb pussy
(Whachu doin'?)
Nothing chillin' at the Holidae In".
I'm going somewhere else if this doesn't change. Thank u
Bio Life Plasma services
Today i was deferred PERMANENTLY from donating at Bio Life Plasma in Janesville for complaining about wait time efficiency. Today the wait time was 90 minutes but there weren't many there. I've driven 60 thousand miles, over 20 years to donate 1300 times, and this is what happens. As of now, i'm trying to reach "higher ups" for appeal.
Desired outcome: Reinstatement
My physical
So of course I went through the.process for an hour or so since I was a new patient. So when I went to talk to rhe.lady..or I'm sure she was just a nurse practitioner, she was just very condescending. In computer orientation there where I had to answer a bunch of questions about my health and so forth, I had to answer yes to ptsd. I'm fine but I have been diagnosed a few years back since I had a few pretty frightening events in my life . But also it was things that I had no control . Over, anyways, since she was sitting at her desk I had to stand on the other side facing her and it was just kind of weird for me and of course you know I might have been swaying back and forth because that's just the type of person I am and after being just extremely kind of sending and almost rude she closed the door and she's like I have you ever been diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome and like absolutely not I'm 45 years old I would have been diagnosed a long time ago and so anyway purse I didn't get to donate plasma and I just I had a very bad experience there from start to finish really I'm white and most people that work there we're all of African American descent if you will so each person that had to you know show me things and you know about the center they were just extremely rude but it's 0-4-1 I was very much discriminated against just because I'm white doesn't mean that I don't get discriminated and a lot of white people do actually so and I'll start trying to start you know playing that race card but anyway what was really ignorant is that she thinks that she could diagnose me again a 45 year-old woman who has two grown boys and a granddaughter at 45 years old so she's going to diagnose me with Tourette's but anyway I mean she was just extremely ignorant condescending and I was utterly offended that she her name is Diana she did not say doctor and I'm sure she isn't you know treated me that way and I've actually heard other people that have said the same thing that are white
Desired outcome: Fire her and have a class or something teaching the other employees there that race and discrimination happen with every race.
I was wrongly deferred because of improperly trained employees.
I went to the Greenfield location in Wisconsin on November 23rd, 2021. I showed up ten minutes early for my appointment and wasn't sat for a while, as usual. As soon as I was sat, it was very clear this female tech did not know what she was doing. She was all over the place and kept coming and going before the finally came to poke me. She then didnt know how to use the machine so called another female tech over to explain to her WORD FOR WORD how to use it. I told her immediately upon her poking me that she had hurt me (I understand getting poked hurts but this REALLY hurt.) She left and got a male tech, who adjusted it painlessly and then said that the arm would not work. So i said switch to the other arm. Male tech goes away, female tech pokes me again. It hurt, AGAIN. She asked me if it hurt and my answer was yes and I shook my head so. I know she saw me and heard me, but ignored me anyway and walked away. Low and behold after the first draw, the return pressure was too high. The female tech comes back and calls for her little friend to come and explain what's going on to her. They both then tell me that I am going to be deferred. 2nd tech then asks 1st tech if i have any previous deferrals. She said no. They both then blabber on saying not to worry and that I can come back later in the week and still donate. They also told me if this same thing happens again I will be deferred for the 8 week period. I asked them to instead re-adjust it so that I could get my cells back and not have the deferral. They said that was fine. They adjust me and let me sit again. Well, half an hour goes by and not a single cell was returned (according to the 1st tech who poked me). When she told me it wasn't working, she reminded me that this wont be an 8 week deferral. So I said fine okay ill just leave. The tech scratched me with the needle when she pulled it out too. I sat for 10 minutes like I'm supposed to and even asked the nurse as well to be sure that I wasn't getting deferred and she said no I wouldn't be. In the car on the way home, I scheduled my next donation for 11/27/2021. When I went to double check today what time it was scheduled for the app said i was ineligible. So I called Biolife and asked for a manager. He basically told me to [censored] off, and said there would be no punishment for the tech who didn't know how to do her job and blatantly and repeatedly lied to a customer probably just to get me to go away. I would like the deferral to be erased and to be allowed back to donate immediately as it is the holidays and its how i pay a good chunk of my bills each month.
Desired outcome: Get rid of the deferral. I should get a returning donor promo for the hassle.
Disrespect unprofessional discrimination
I had a BioLife appointment on Sunday November 21st 2021 at 9:50 a.m. I went through all of my screening went to go have my physical examination was asked about PTSD by the nurse and I told her I was not formally charged with PTSD and at that point I told her that I had a childhood drama she began to laugh and stated "DON'T WE ALL, [censored]ING DAD"! And began laughing. I am a childhood sexual abuse survivor I suffered from severe childhood sexual abuse. This in turn made me feel uncomfortable disrespected, unsafe revictimized scared and uncertain of myself.
Desired outcome: Will discuss
Skipped
I'm at the Kyle TX location, in the bronze section. A phlebotomist named Chris did not even ask who was next, he just started working on someone who had just laid down. I had already been waiting for 15 minutes, and my time is valuable to me. Now I won't feel comfortable looking at my phone until I get seen because when I do I get skipped. Instead I'll have to stare down the employees just to make sure they're paying attention.
Desired outcome: Ask who is next! It's real simple.

Coupon not entered before donating
Received a promo coupon for the extra funds but was told management had to enter it. I was never informed my donation for that day would not count toward the promotion coupon is that management had to enter. Upon doing my second donation of the week which should have been be a payout of $100, my first donation didn't count and they refused to fix it. I was told that they could just take the coupon away then and I can go back in to platinum instead, it was my choice. So I received $40 for the week when I should have received $120. Yet my boyfriend with same coupon got his just fine. What a joke.
Desired outcome: Transparency If coupon is not going to count for that donation address right away
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
The screening process
Today i was deferred because my hermetic rate was at 55, 1 point over being acceptable. i have an issue with this policy because this number can fluctuate so much with the amount and type of food consumed and amount of water drunk. I could have rescheduled the appointment for later in the day or even a couple hours later and gotten that number down to the acceptable level. This hermetic level has always been and issue with me in that there should be a way of checking this mechanically/electronically and totally removing the human intervention. I've been donating for 10 years and seen too many errors made by the screening technicians to where I've been deferred by the technician entering information incorrectly and no fault of my own.
Desired outcome: Remove human opinions in the screening process - and allow rescreening hermetic levels within 4-6 hours
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
McDonough Center
To whom it may concern,
I had an appointment at biolife McDonough, Ga at 4:25 on Friday, November 5th. I arrived at 4:35 due to heavy traffic and had to wait until 4:40 before anyone checked me in . At this time they told me I missed the 10 minute grace period and that they could not see me even though I was there within the 10 min period. There was no line. I explained to the manager that I had driven from 45 minutes away.
I also had an appointment on 11/3/21 at 4:25. I had to wait in my car for over 30 min. They called people that came in after me to come in before me. At 5:45 I was still waiting in line to donate so I had to leave.
I feel that the workers at this center do not value my time.
Thanks you,
Kelly Adamson

Please please review those that are responsible for scheduling staff. I'm here 1hour after opening. There are at least 30 people ahead of me in line. I see one bay working and I see 2 running the donations. Last Sunday the wait was 3 hours before getting to a bed. I've complained in the past about the same. No changes. I've seen a large staff here.
Desired outcome: Better understanding of supply and demand when scheduling.
It seems like no matter what state your in BioLife only hires bad people to pay them less to maximize profit and screw everyone! We're like sheep going to these places for little money!
