Timeshares
Blue-Green timeshares are terrible . They make it sound so good but they are hard to schedule and the maintenance fees are a strain on the finances . Why pay maintenance fees on something you don't and can't use ? I would never recommend this company to friends , family or enemies. They are impossible to cancel and they won't take it back from you until it's paid off ? What a scam .. all I can day is don't even go and let them waste your time or money .!
Desired outcome: Cancelation
Forced into purchasing a nonexistent product.
My fiancé and I were given an opportunity to experience Bluegreen. We sat through their presentation, we took their tours, we listened to all of their sales pitches. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and purchased the smallest package possible. After doing so, we discovered we were unable to actually do anything with said "purchase". We returned 60 days later for a "new owners" meeting. While there, we met with a new sales person that informed us that we had purchased shares for "too cheap". We were accused of stealing from the company, using the company, knowing someone that we haven't disclosed, etc. We were told we had to buy additional shares because of this supposed "theft". We were given gift cards, airline tickets, 2 week stays in Ireland, and a week long cruse. Of course, all of which turned out to be false. We were told that the maintenace fees were going to be waved for the first year, but they weren't. We have attempted to contact this company on multiple occasions to correct these issues, but we have gotten nowhere.
Desired outcome: We would like to cancel our "package" and end our relationship with bluegreen all together.
Bluegreen ownership benefits
My wife and I began purchasing Bluegreen points in 2004. Since then, we have continued to purchase points, creating separate accounts for our children. We have enjoyed our Bluegreen ownership and it has been great vacationing with our growing family over the years at Bluegreen resorts. We are multi-Platinum owners and have bought all our points directly from Bluegreen.
So far, so very good. :)
In 2019, while vacationing at the World Golf Village in St Augustine, we were made an offer for the purchase of additional points. My wife and I explained that buying more points was not looking good because we were not sure we could budget the added maintenance fees as we were now living on reduced income due to my retirement.
The Bluegreen sales representatives recommended that we rent to friends, family and others to offset the maintenance fees. We told them that we had never charged friends and family for vacations, and we did not feel comfortable renting to strangers.
It was then that the sales representatives recommended that we open a personal Airbnb account and let that be our hosting go-between. We were unfamiliar with the process and were hesitant, but they assured us that it was a simple process. They made some recommendations on which units were easiest to rent and said that this was something that they themselves used. I recall that VRBO was also mentioned.
We did purchase more points and followed their recommendation to begin hosting, we chose Airbnb. After four years we were just about at the point where we were able to cover our maintenance fees.
We've always been open about our Airbnb hosting with Bluegreen representatives at numerous Owner Reviews since. We were always, without fail, encouraged to keep up the good work and complimented on our success with it.
However, in May of 2022 I got a call from a young lady from Bluegreen requesting information on our Airbnb hosting. I explained how we came to have an Airbnb account and that we were close to offsetting our maintenance fees. She asked if I could provide a name of a Bluegreen representative who had made the hosting suggestion. I told her that one of the sales representatives making the recommendation at the Owner Review in St. Augustine in 2019 was Corinne Turkowski. I remembered Corinne because she had offered assistance with process and even given me her phone number if I had any questions. The caller said that she would pass this information on to someone but gave no indication that we should change anything we were doing.
However, on 12/9/2022, without explanation, our log-in to the Bluegreen website was disabled. I called Customer Service and was told that they could not talk to me about the situation.
After several days I received an email from Paul McLaughlin, Director, Corporate & Regulatory Compliance. In the email Paul said we had violated the Bluegreen website policy by giving access to our account to unauthorized persons and were, therefore, locked out of the website.
But only our family members access our accounts and make reservations. So, I replied to Paul with this information. I think Paul thought we were using some professionals and had given them access to our accounts. Not true.
Though I believe Paul accepted this fact, our website access remained disabled, and he responded in a follow-up email that he considered what we were doing with our Airbnb hosting constituted "Commercial Use".
I shared our Airbnb listing site with him and offered to send him the 1099 we receive form Airbnb for reporting the income to the federal and state tax agencies. I wanted him to see that we were only just covering our maintenance fees and we are not making a business out of it. This did not appear to matter to him, and he insisted that we shut down our Airbnb account, stop further listing, and cancel any confirmed reservations.
I agreed to discontinue listing until the situation could be resolved. I have removed all listings from Airbnb so no more reservations can or will be made. I have kept the Airbnb account active because that is the only way to communicate with guests about the possibility of cancelling their upcoming reservations if we are forced to do so because Bluegreen will not honor them.
I do believe that it is unfair to cancel the reservations of the Airbnb guests who had been arranging their family vacation plans around these dates and locations. Some were birthday, anniversary, graduation, even honeymoon plans.
I just need to know what we are allowed to do and what we are not allowed to do. If we were misled by the Bluegreen representatives, then it is not we who were acting in bad faith. If the Bluegreen representatives were just being helpful and the policy has subsequently changed then please explain it to us and do not treat us like we are rule-breakers.
We love Bluegreen, it has been a real blessing to our family. We want to continue our good relationship with Bluegreen and again feel comfortable recommending Bluegreen to our friends for vacation ownership.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
James Putney

Desired outcome: Restoration of our suspended accounts and clarification of the policy on rental for the purpose offsetting of maintenance fees.
Room different from pictures on website
On 10/18/2021 I made a hotel reservation for my family and I to vacation at the Soundings hotel (a Bluegreen Resort) in Dennisport, MA for 5 nights from Sunday, August 7th – Friday, August 12th, 2022. These reservations needed to be made through Choice Hotels. The reservation was made for a two-bedroom deluxe suite that includes a large living room with a kitchen table and a sliding glass door to walk out to the beach (pics included, as reflected on the Choice Hotel website in the picture gallery).
Upon arrival on Sunday, August 7th, my family and I were assigned a lower grade two bedroom unit that was different from what was reflected on the Choice Hotel website. Overall, less amenities than anticipated and was presented to me upon booking on Choice Hotels website. It was a smaller room (pic included), handicap accessible and didn’t include the large living room with kitchen table nor a sliding glass door that provided direct access to the beach area. Not to mention the shower had an extensive amount of mold (pics included). I immediately addressed this with the hotel front desk; however, I was told by the worker, Maja, at the front desk that this was the room type that Choice Hotels shared with them that was reserved, there was nothing they could do since they were completely sold out and I needed to take up this issue directly with Choice Hotels.
Pictures are included to show the differences in the advertised room compared to what we were placed in. In addition, pictures of the extensive mold in the shower are also included.
I attempted handle this issue with Choice Hotel by opening up at case with them (Case # 1091 9660); however, after multiple calls, I was advised to direct this issue with the management staff at the Soundings hotel. At this point, I was being advised by both parties that the other should handle. Not being able to move to the room type we anticipated, based on the pictures reflected on the Choice Hotel website, or relocate my family to another hotel in the area, our frustration mounted, and we ended up cutting our vacation short by 1 night.
After checking out on Thursday, August 11th, I attempted to try to resolve this issue by reached out via email to the general manager of the Soundings hotel, Rachel Richard.
Later that same day, 8/11/2022, Rachel Richard responded to my email inquiry as follows: The photos shown are for the 2-bedroom deluxe, so I absolutely understand where the frustration comes from. I will contact choice hotels and see what we can do for you.
After not receiving a response after two weeks, I followed-up with Rachel Richard on 8/24/2022. Rachel responded on 8/24/2022 that she was emailing with the revenue manager at Choice Hotels and was expecting to hear back within 1 day to see what could be offered. She went to say that follow-up would be immediate upon receiving information back from the revenue manager at Choice Hotels.
After waiting a number of days, I followed-up via email with Rachel Richard on the following dates; however, no response back was ever received.
September 1st, 2022
September 8th, 2022
September 15th, 2022
Ultimately the issue we encountered was understood by the general manager of the resort, she agree that the room was different from what was reflected on the website and communicated that she would work to provide a refund; however, no response to any of my follow-up messages were received.
Desired outcome: The refund promised by the general manager of the Soundings resort, Rachel Richard.
Bluegreen Ponzi scheme
I have been a Bluegreen owner at South Mountain since 2004. I own a deeded float week. Booking any week has been a nightmare from the start. I have been paying my maintenance fees a year in advance so that I can have at least a little choice. This year after paying $625 fees in advance I was told that there were no weeks in 2023 available for me! How can you accept a payment when you have no bookings available? I own a week. Obviously they have sold my week to someone else and are now asking me to pay for maintenance for a resort that will not allow me to go there! How is this legal? I think it's time for a class action lawsuit against them.
Desired outcome: Stop the fraudulent sales and replace the management
This has been a nightmare since day 1!
We were sold our timeshare in New Orleans, Gentleman Chris - promised us a 3 night weekend on a weekend we requested just to seal the deal. Was there for 6 hours - doing everything they could to pressure us. I called back 2 days later but never could get them to answer the phone when i was having doubts about our purchase. But found out after it was too late - Chris was not one that could promise such a thing. But yet when I sent them the email about it - all they did was apologize. We have been asking to get out of this contract for 3 years but they will not release us unless we pay the maintenance fees. They have been paid in full for the timeshare that we don't care to use due to not ever having anything available that we want. When we purchased we told them we take long weekend trips. When we tried to book - nothing ever available - was told we need to travel during the week if we want to find anything. Then we sat through another one of their sales - which they ask you to do everytime you travel with them. LIED to again. Was told we needed to buy more to have the available for weekend travel. WRONG! still couldn't find anthing available.
Desired outcome: Released from this timeshare - without paying maintenance fees since we have not used it and have been trying to get out of this contract. I have the PDF email that i can forward to you about this wrongful promise. it is dated 2/16/18.
The Fountains Ascension - Bluegreen Vacations - Orlando, FL
I initially made my reservation through Booking.com in March of 2022 for my birthday weekend. The card I made the reservation with was lost in August. Booking notified me on 9/17/22 to update my credit card. When I went to do so on 9/18/22, Booking had already cancelled my reservation. I contacted booking directly and was advised that I'd have to contact a manager at Bluegreen Vacations directly to reinstate the reservation. When I did, I spoke to Virgil Green who identified himself as a manager. I explained to him my dilemma that my credit card that the reservation was booked with had to be replaced due to being a lost card and booking asked me to update my current card but when I went to do so, they'd already canceled my reservation and advised me that they didn't have any more showing on their website and I'd have to Bluegreen directly for reinstatement of the reservation. Virgil was very understanding and assured me that he'd fix and reinstate my reservation for 9/23/22 - 9/25/22 as booked on 3/20/22. I asked him to send me confirmation of same as I didn't want any issues when it was time for me to check in on 9/22/22. He told me he could send me a hotel screen shot showing that my reservation for 9/23/22- 9/25/22 was now reflecting again as pending and that all I would have to do and provide my credit card along with a $100 deposit at checkin. I offered to give him my credit card that night (9/20/22) that he reinstated my reservation but he advised me that that was not necessary and that I'd simply provide it at checkin. When I arrived to the property to checkin, I advised that my reservation had been cancelled. I showed the property the email hotel reservation confirmation the Virgil sent me on 9/20/22, however the hotel simply advised me that there was nothing they could do about it. The young lady called Virgil to the desk. He introduced himself to me and told me he didn't know what happened as he checked the night before on 9/22/22 and saw my reservation still in pending status so he doesn't know what happened overnight or why it cancelled but he was going to make sure that the young lady at checkin found me something and took care of me. The young lady and Virgil both simply disappeared and when she came back, she advised me there was nothing she could do and that they had nothing available. Another manager Alex came out and told me there was nothing he could do. When I told him I would be making a formal corporate complaint he advised me he was sorry. Frantically as I stood to the side seeking somewhere else to house my family, he came over and asked me to hold 15 minutes as he was going to see what he can do for me. Mind you, he disappeared for over 30 minutes so I went into panic mode having birthday events already booked for that time and I needed to be checked in my resort to prepare and get dressed for the same. Nevertheless, I was able to get booked at the property next door (Floridays) for around the same price that I had booked The Fountains for but the stay was not to my standards. I was depressed my entire birthday weekend and my mood that weekend was extremely down when I should have been on cloud nine. Needless to say, my birthday weekend was ruined simply because Bluegreen Vacations fail to deliver its promise to me when Virgil reinstated my hotel reservation. As you can see in the enclosed screenshot of the reservation Virgil sent me, there's notes indicating customer to update credit card at checkin. It also shows the date he reinstated my reservation on the night of 9/20/22. I wasted a trip to Florida. Flew in only to not be able to partake of the hotel that I booked.
Desired outcome: Accommodation for ruined birthday trip *Future weekend hotel stay voucher
Annoying cancellation process
We purchased this timeshare July 2022 in Pigeon Forge TN. It seemed like the plans were alot better than many years ago so we purchased. After reading contract a week later we decided it was to much for us to learn with what we had on our plate at that time & that we would consider a later purchase. Upon sending my cancellation letter within the time frame alloted & certified it took a month to get refunded our money which was ok but the problem is we continuously got phone calls & letters from the loan department on our past due loan payment. 1st of all we should of never received a loan #. The communication within the departments was terrible.
I didn't have time in my busy schedule to deal with them when clearly the departments were dropping the ball with each other.
At this point I would never never never ever reconsider buying into the Blue Green Vacations.
Desired outcome: Don't contact me.
It is Oct 2022 & the loan dept of BlueGreen whoever they are has turn me in to the credit bureau Experian for Delinquent account. I had already been refunded all my monies by 9/22 on my previous purchase in July 2022. What a nightmare!
Cleanliness @ Christmas Mountain WiDells
We stayed in V18. Room was disgusting. Bugs on window sills upstairs. Furniture no dusted. Villa was not vaccumed. Had no shower curtain in downstairs bathroom. Huge cob webs all over the place! Lights didn’t work bulbs were blown out. Supplies included were not filled in our Villa, such as dish soap etc. Dishwasher was full of dishes from previous guest. We pay a lot of maintenance fee every year to cover these things! No reason at all for this! This resort use to be very popular. I can understand why this is going down the tubes!
Desired outcome: Reimburse your owners their Maintenance Fee
Timeshare vacation package
Bluegreens customer service is horrid! We have tried reaching out to them to end our agreement with them. It is a very confusing situation as we were told we could get out of this at any time. The amount of effort we have had to go through to complete this is aggravating as we would have hoped this would have been completed months ago when we initially asked to part ways. With the amount, I am needing to pay in medical bills due to my diabetes. There has been no sort of compassion and care from Bluegreen. I recently have had to stop the medicine for my heart & now at risk of having a stroke. I can no longer take this amount of stress.
Desired outcome: close
Vacations
I do NOT recommend that anyone even attend a Bluegreen Timeshare presentation. They will tell you it is no obligation but pressure you relentlessly until you give in. They had me in tears on my honeymoon! You cannot get help from their representatives and once they have your signature you are stuck. Don’t make this mistake! Nothing is ever free no matter what they use to entice you to come to their meetings. You will pay in the long run and trust me the free stuff is not worth the time to be bombarded with salesman back to back until you say yes…..
Desired outcome: Refund
Time share
My husband and I purchased this time share in Myrtle Beach on our anniversary 09/22/20. We were both unsure and really wished that we had communicated and left right away. They make it sound great and tell you not to worry about the fees just to email people and it would take care of itself. Not true, the fees keep adding up. We got home after our trip and tried to cancel and was told that we had five days, read the fine print. In other states its different. So we were stuck with it. We decided to use our 4000 points and visit Las Vegas. The resort was old and not even on the strip, so we had to take the shuttle or Uber. To dangerous to walk because of the high crime neighborhood. (Which the points don't cover anything! ) Then when we returned home we got a fee for cleaning. Which is an additional cost to the already fees. This time share has almost cost me my marriage because of the financial burden. Its so hard to book anything, you have to look at this color coded book. I have tried to contact them about selling or giving the darn thing away ($11,000 down the drain.) No one has given us any information except to try and sell it on Facebook. I have inquired about lawyers and it seems like even more money to spend. I feel that on 09/22/20 they had hired actors an older couple was there telling people in the group that it was a great investment because they have been able to take their whole family on vacation. What in like 20 years when I have enough points and had booked in twenty years in advance? Its a rip off, and most of all they prey on people that only want to give their family good memories. Its unethical and immoral and I will never forgive them of taking advantage of us during a pandemic. If any one has some reasonable advice please message me I would love to be rid of this tumor called Bluegreen.
Desired outcome: I want to out and I don't want to pay another dime to do it.
Timeshares
I was a blue green owner in 2002, I took a $100 gift card to listen to a presentation and then signed up. I paid thousands of dollars every year and was never able to book the locations that I wanted. I spent so much money and wasted money for nothing . I paid it off in 2014 only to find that the maintenance fees increased and I would be expected to pay them although I had not been able to book anything. This is a SCAM! I hope one day this company ceases to exist! Why are they allowed to take money from hardworking people. DO Not waste your time or money this is not worth it! I hope to file a lawsuit against them!
Desired outcome: The company pays all the previous owners what they owe them and the company gives disabled veterans the property
Bluegreen Timeshare Compliance Dept Treatment
Further to my complaint on May 19th after finding out that the Bluegreen Compliance Dept, and specifically Paul McLaughlin.
I sent an email to Bluegreen stating the following: "We wish to terminate our ownership with Bluegreen immediately and am planning to stop payment on our existing mortgage due July 15th, as well as our over $5000 maintenance fees of which I've made the first installment payment.
You have cancelled all my upcoming reservations, forced me to call to make a reservation and placed a note on my file that I cannot make changes without your permission. All of this was done without even the courtesy of notifying me. I only found out when I called to confirm a reservation for my nephew from Michigan, to be told I have no upcoming reservations at all. Your bullying tactics have forced us into an untenable situation and caused us unnecessary stress at our advanced ages when we should be enjoying our golden years.
We want reimbursement from Bluegreen for all the money we have spent in good faith for what has become an unbearable liability."
Since I am the intended recipient, I will share their response: "Dear Mr. and Mrs. D’Orsay, Please be advised that Bluegreen remains firm in its position as indicated in our correspondence to you dated June 13, 2022, a copy of which is attached for your reference. Should you require any further assistance with utilizing your ownership, please let us know and we will have a representative reach out to you directly to assist. Sincerely, Legal Affairs"
They don't even have the decency to give us a name anymore. Please help us get out of this Company forever. I have no intention of talking to a representative on the phone, only to have my words twisted to suit their purposes.
Desired outcome: I want to terminate our membership in Bluegreen, unless we are allowed access to our account online again. We want reimbursement from Bluegreen for the money we invested since 1999.
This is happening to me. What happened with yours?
Tour presentation mess
Hello, Orlando, July 6th 2022. I am writing this email to let you know that I got a very bad experience with your staff today as we were coming to do a tour for timeshare. We are a couple coming from Canada with 3 kids age 13,10 and 8. We were introduced to your resort through a nice guy in Millennium mall at Orlando, he informed us about your resort...

Well we finally got a hold of Bluegreen but to no surprise, they said our account is in limbo… They continue to drag everything out and they couldn't even give me a solid answer. If i could get a solid answer i probably wouldnt be as angry. I have been confused through this whole timeshare thing. I just want it done and over with. I wouldnt suggest anyone get into anything with them unless you want to constantly be lost.
Everything
First off I’m going to start with your people jaded me when your sales person debbi at the 7777 Victoria Gardens Ln
Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739
United States store. Now I’d have no issue if she was clear. She said they were promoting a bass pro shop that is opening in Wyoming. (Okay then why are my options las Vegas or Arizona) they are doing a special for 3 nights 4 days at the Cilovista resort. And Alls we have to do is pay $249. We get a $50 bass pro gift card.” Now, then when we get there we get a free $200 dinner , and another $25 gift card and that’s it. The rest of the time is ours. She never said we had to pay taxes on it, said we didn’t. Not an issue if she didn’t lie about it. Second my husband asked so $249 at a resort for 3 nights is super super cheap what am I signing my life up for? She said oh nothing that’s it. He asked 4 other times got the same answer every time. She said we can choose out of a bunch of different places to stay all over Arizona(Sedona, Phoenix, Prescott, and more. I called to make our reservations the SAME week we bought the vacation. When I call we had one option for where to stay witch was 4 hours from where we wanted to be. And guess what?! Yea your right we didn’t even get to stay at the resort unless we wanted to pay an extra $250 a day😬 umm? Okay not what I was told. I get to our hotel to check in and the lady at the Homewood sweets hotel said 90% of the people who book with bluegreen have the same complaint. Then come to find out we have to do this “2 hour” presentation (timeshare) it’s 45 mins away from where we are staying. we have to go or we pay a full price of $1000 or something like that. So if we stayed in Sedona would we have to drive 8 hours to this orientation? As you can imagine we are already a little frustrated because we have been lied to the whole time. The presentation lady melonie was great startight forward on what there about. Our sales guy Michel was fine straight forward said we will pay $4 a point. But there financing guy ali was trying to confuse me on the numbers and intrest of what it would be as a total after interest. I told him you arnt going to confuse me with numbers I know numbers an run a multi million dollar business. I know numbers.. well he actually almost snapped on me a few times. And still was trying to shove it down my throat and have me leave with a time share. After I told him multiple times this isn’t financially feasible at the moment as we just took two 2 week long vacations in a month or so. Give me a month or 2 and I would be able to take in another $300 plus payment. He wasn’t having it and continued to bring different number variations to me but they all still added up to be the same after it was all said and done. Something they are saying Cost 45 thousand is really costing 90 plus and you don’t get to keep it or go wherever you want. Interest rates will change. All of it will but there price per point will stay the same. When I threw numbers back at him like no actually it’s this numbers don’t lie he got super Pissy with me and started raising his voice like no no your not getting it, how about this.. same end number just broke down in to a bunch of smaller numbers to confuse me.. finally my wife (voice a little raised) was over telling him (now for the 5th time this isn’t financially feasible at this moment we need to pay these vacations off we just took then we can) to stop shoving this down our throats at to let us leave he got pissed and cocky we just left. I’m sorry but what are they hiding what are they doing with peoples info? Why was he so addiment on us buying into this? I loved the idea of what they do. And maybe I would have bought into it if I wasn’t lied to so much in the beginning. And something didn’t seem super shady. Sorry but you can do better blue green..
Desired outcome: Scam
Timeshare Points Membership
We first purchased a timeshare from BG in May of 2005. We purchased 8,000 points. It was way way overpriced and we immediately regretted the purchase. BG never told us we had a limited time to rescind this purchase. The maintenance fees at that time were $735 per year. We have never ever been pleased with BG. We have consistently complained about them. We did continue to vacation because we 'owned' the points. We did go to recommended 'sales updates.' What a total pain these things were to endure. We complained incessantly about these presentations. It got to a point where my wife and I would utilize these 'updates' as complaint sessions. Really, we went in there only to complain about BG. Of course, they did not like this and it greatly reduced the amount of time we endured in this water boarding with words. Many times I told BG staff that I would rather spend two hours scooping cow dung with a spoon than listen to a BG salesman. These people are liars and manipulators. Eventually, in 2018, we took a vacation to Harbor Lights where we invited friends. We were reluctant to do that stupid update presentation because we had friends with us. We did though. Our intention was to go in and make it a complaint session once more. The salesman focused on our complaints of maintenance fees which by this time had doubled to over $1,400. He told us we could easily rent out our points for properties like that in FL--world golf club. He told us what to do. I even took notes. We ended the session with an upgrade. We now owned 20,000 annual points at a total cost with the other package of $27,000. We we got home, I did exactly what the salesman told me to do. I made a reservation for the timeframe he said at the World Golf Resort in FL. $1,400 to cover maintenance fees. Two weeks then 4 weeks go by and nothing. At about 4 weeks before losing our points, I reduced the price by half. It did not sell before I had to cancel. The listing cost us $150 after all was said and done. Ridiculous! We were pissed! We continued to complain about BG constantly. We asked them repeatedly to take the crap back and told them we did not want it. We paid it all off rapidly. BG knew we did not want it. They never told us about the deedback program which is for owners like us who realize they have been ripped off and want out. What did BG do? They recommended we sell it and steered us to Pinnacle. When we found out why they do this, we immediately pulled our listing. BG and Pinnacle broker deals. If you research, you will see that both are often listed in lawsuits filed against Bluegreen. Bluegreen is clever in their manipulation. They try to maintain that they have control over what you supposedly 'own' and steer you to their own people to sell. In that way, it is nothing but a ponzi scheme. These timeshare companies know that there is virtually no resale market for this crap. Especially, when like us, you pay $27,000 for something that wont even come close to bringing in 10 percent of this. Thats the facts and yet salespeople of BG will lie to your face and tell you that you actually physically own something. You own 'air.' Don't believe it. They are imprisoning you to a debt you do not need to vacation well. BG charges their owners for everything transfers, saving, protecting, etc. Literally, nothing is free. They are basically raping their owners financially. We paid a non-refundable fee of $35 to list on Pinnacle and confronted BG rather firmly with the legal fact, that if 'we' own it, they cannot exert control over what we do with it. It doesn't stop them. They don't care. We had all kinds of problems trying to sell 20,000 annual points for even a mere $1,000. NO INTEREST! Thats how worthless this crap really is. They know it. Once you buy this, the trap is set. Don't do it. BG also lies and changes paperwork without your knowledge. Here is what they did to us. Like I said, we originally purchased in Branson. Not anymore. They lied to our faces and said we did not purchase there. To this day, they refuse to tell us what they have on our records. We have records saying we purchased 8,000 points. When we upgraded at Harbor Lights in 2018, they say we did not do the upgrade there. That's insane. We had friends with us. We made vacation plans for Christmas, Wisconsin in 2019, but canceled those plans due to covid. And no BG did not help us at all. They had zero sympathy. In fact, we found out that they changed our paperwork again to say that we did an upgrade in Wisconsin in 2019. Ridiculous! We can prove we were at home. They will not back down. These are disgusting people. Finally, we also found out that instead of being owners at Harbor Lights--we have been owners at Club 36 in Vegas. Anyone who knows us, would tell you that we wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near Vegas. Again, they deceived and manipulated us. We hate BG for good reasons. A good company would not have to do what they do to succeed. They could find success on merit and not manipulation. We are still trying to get rid of this crap. Recently, BG even cut off access to my own account. An account I supposedly own but can't access. That should tell you a lot about this company. They want to create their own narrative and shut out everything else--the legitimate complaints. They don't like complaints because they cannot deal with them. They have zero intention of dealing with complaints. As it stands, we are shown as having 2 memberships at BG. Both for 10,000 points. How did this happen? We had 8,000 and wanted to upgrade to 20,000, If you start with 8,000, you need 12,000 more. We admit we let things slide, allowing this manipulation by these evil people. No more! We are warning everyone. Don't ever trust these people.
Desired outcome: BG take this crap back.
I read that Bluegreen Vacations has an exit strategy. I am a widow of 3 years, have seldom used it (mostly because you can't get in unless you plan trips months and months ahead), am paying literally $400 a month in maintenance fees ($4800 last year), and am old. I have no children. I called about the exit plan, and was told that I had to cancel the contract that I took out which I did do. Then I was to send a letter to owner.requests.bluegreenvacations.com that I had cancelled it. Another bogus site...as a widow with no pension, $400 a month means a lot to me in light of increased costs in living expenses. Why, oh why, is this company so cruel?
Bluegreen vacation 3 night for presentation
We were booked a three night stay in Orlando. At a Holiday Inn express. We had to pay $250 ahead of time and then around $30 in taxes when we showed up. When we first showed up at Bluegreen resort to check in we were told twe were booked for 12pm to watch the presentation. After repeatedly being told by agents prior to the booking that there was Timeslots that are available in the mornings. And absolutely refused to allow us to book anything prior to showing up at the resort. We made it very clear On three different occasions prior to booking our stay thatthat we couldn’t do anything past 11am because we had prior commitments for an event. We were reassured all three times that we would be able to book an eight or 9 AM presentation. No other information was disclosed. They wouldn’t even tell us what hotel we were staying at until about a week or two before our stay. They then guided us to forgo the presentation if we would just pay the difference that it would cost us to pay for the hotel stay if we would’ve booked it on our own which was around $21 plus tax and fees. So we agreed. We were reassured we would not have any more issues at all if we didn’t do the presentation. Upon arriving at the hotel we were actually very concerned because it was is in a very poor area of Orlando. Apparently we learned there are a lot of break-ins in the vehicles in that area. On our third night there there was a shooting around the corner- a deadly shooting. Anyway back to check in at the hotel. Out of three elevators two were broken down and only one was working. And the elevators are extremely small. They booked us on the 10th floor and told us that they didn’t have any other available rooms. With all our luggage when we arrived at the elevator after waiting 10 to 15 minutes for it to get to the bottom floor there was a maid in there with her cart. Instead of kindly removing herself from the elevator so we could get to our room she just looked at us and closed the elevator door in our face. So we had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for the elevator to get back down to the ground floor and then of course stopping at every floor on the way up was another 10 min or so. It was a constant issue with the elevators which was promised to be fix that day but never was our entire stay. there were a few times we had to run up 10 flights of stairs to get to our room because there was a such a long line for the elevator. There’s absolutely no ventilation whatsoever in the stairwell so it was extremely nauseating. Plus we have a young boy. If we were with our parents we would’ve never been able to stay at this hotel. Upon complaining about this to Bluegreen vacations they could care less I called customer service four times and they pretty much laughed in my face almost every time because it was always a young person who would answer the phone. And they would just continue their scripted verbiage to me as they were laughing in my face. Telling me that there’s no managers above them because they are in an executive office and they are their own boss. Nothing but a runaround. Very distasteful. I can’t believe that this company treats people this way. They put us up in one of the worst sections Orlando literally had a shooting around the corner from where we were staying and pretty much no elevators to get us up and down 10 flight of stairs in an unventilated stairwell. It was awful. And absolutely no resolution or compensation was given to us. Upon check out the manager Diane promised to refund us. She explained I had to call Bluegreen vacations because there wasn’t anything she could do without their approval. I went back up to my room before finally checking out called Bluegreen vacations and was promised by a rep that they would call her while I was on the other line. Of course Diane did not answer so the rep told me that they would call me back and we would do a three-way to resolve this issue once they reach the hotel manager. I went back down to finally check out and Diane was there when I explained to her that the rep from Bluegreen tried to call her she said "oh I must’ve stepped out." So when I told her if we could please contact Bluegreen so we could resolve this, she just smirked at me and said " don’t worry I’ll take care of it. " she refused to help me in that moment because what I later figured out is she very well knew nothing was going to be done because this is how the hotel and Bluegreen vacations treat customers. They don’t care. And they have no intention of refunding anything. We just want a refund.
Desired outcome: Refund of the $275 that we paid
Accusation by Director of Corporate Compliance
On April 27th, I found out that I was locked out of my online Bluegreen account. When I called Customer Service, the said my account was blocked and I would have to talk to the Director of Corporate Compliance. I did this and was accused of being a commercial renter and also a liar because I couldn't tell him who I booked a specific reservation for a year ago. I said I didn't have access to my past reservations since my account was blocked. He said we must be commercial renters because I couldn't tell him information about last year's bookings and also because I had booked nine reservations at Big Cedar during the summer period. My husband and I have been Bluegreen owners since about 1999 and started having this problem two years ago when I booked a bunch of my cousins in at Big Cedar for a reunion. These are distant cousins who live in various areas of the USA. I'm not close to them and cannot always remember their names. I do not charge them any fee for using our points.
Desired outcome: I would like to have my online Bluegreen account unblocked.
I am not a commerical account, renting Bluegeen units. I am just a retired person who was talked into buying more and more points by salepeople. These people are go good at lieing to make a sales. I have two 100,000 points which I oaid over $400,000 for and $20,000 yearly fees. Yes I list a few for rent but use over 150,000 of these points myself. I had 10 weeks at Daytons starting in November and had to leave because of the storm after 2 days.
If this was not bad enough Bluegreen was hacked and I lost my last 6 weeks of vacation and had to drive 12 hours to get a place to live until April1. I always defended BG in the past but not the sales people. I know they are just trying to make a liveing but it ends up being greed. I am ready to bale and take the loss I can have a great vacation for the moneuy I an still payiing BG, payments of over $2,000 amonthplus maintenance fees. That is over $42, ooo a year! I just went Dimond and handed over $8,000 in cash! The management of Bluegreen had gone nuts!
