On Friday November 22, 2019 I had placed an order through the phone app for a Midwestern pizza, an order of breadsticks, and half dozen cookies. Some how my phone number was not correct and they could not contact us by phone. The employee, Greg, came to our home to let us know that they did not have the ingredients needed to make the pizza we wanted. And that they did not have the cookies that we had ordered either. He took down what we wanted as a replacement pizza, said he would bring us a dozen assorted cookies, and went back to the store. He was back with our order in less than 30 minutes.
Then tonight (11/24/19), I stopped in to get s couple cheeseburgers and some wedges on my way home. I thought that the guy was being castic when he told me that they didn't have any burger patties or wedges.
While waiting I found out that they were out of several things that they need that are vital being able to serve the local clientel. Not only were they out of the things I have already listed, but there were several items that are ingredients for their most popular take out items. I also noticed that there were several popular items with signs on them saying that they were out of stock. Most of the cappachino flavors were marked as well as two of four icee flavors.
I just don't see how so many popular items could be out of stock if he's doing his ordering properly. I understand that it is a lot of responsiblity to take care of a store of that size. However, to my understanding he was, until recently, the area supervisor for this area. He should have some idea about the needs of the store and the wants of the customers that frequent it. This is a small town, but there are two Casey's and the one that is having the most problems is only a few years old. I firmly believe that if the store manager would take the time to hire a kitchen manager it would take some of the stress of placing the order off of him.
Gerald, the employee that helped me with my order tonight remained very calm and professional, even under the circumstances.
I would also like to add that the employees at this store are doing the very best that they can to make the customers happy even though they are not leaving with the product that they originally came in for.
