old chicken strips
On 1-15-17 I went to the sycamore school road location and purchased 3 kids meals chicken strips and the strips were hard and way to salty like they've been sitting out all day. My lil girls with them being little not knowing any better ate them and i asked them and they told me how they tasted because mine were the same way, I took back what was left and tried to get my money back they they refused to give me another order and also refused giving my money back.
I wouldn't recommend chicken express to no one. All they do is play around in the restaurant and half fix your food.
Do not eat here.

I just want to say that we really like your food.
I have a problem with the consistency of the order when we come through the talk out window. We typically call ahead to order our chicken livers, so they are not over cooked, as well as order a 20 piece family meal. There have been several times when our order has not been complete. When called, they want us to come back and get our missing pieces. That is not always easy for us to do. Then the rest of our order is cold. Several times we go inside and order, and we are ignored for some time before they ask if we need help.
My family likes your food. We want to enjoy our food without having to go back out and get all our missing sides. We are not asking for a difficult order, just everything there. Some days its all there. Several days we are missing rolls, or even all the gravy (which causes many cries from the boys).
I am not sure if the employees need help, or if they need better employees, or training. I want this to be a good store.

My husband went to the chicken express in irving off 183 & order the 20pc. Tender family pack. Rolls & mash potatoes. What he brought home was a small order of big whole pieces. Legs & thighs. Biscuits. & no mash potatoes. I called a guy who called himself kevin & told him my issue. All he could say was "oh. Ok" there was no care or concern or attempt to resolve or compensate my family at all in any way. I asked him for a corporate/franchise number & he gives me this number : 817.368.7261
Which I called & sounds like a cell phone number to which no one answers. Ever! This is the worst customer service i've ever experienced & me being in the restaurant business myself as a manager is very u profesional & simply bad business!

Our family walked in at 8:39 pm on a Thursday evening and we were told if we wanted chicken it would be a 50 minute wait. They offered wings only and tenders. All the chairs were put up on top of table and 6 employees were milling around doing nothing. They stated they wanted to close by 9pm even though the door stated 10 pm. Worst service we have ever seen. My child ate cold corn and chicken tenders already waiting in a box to be sold.
Store in Brady TX on bridge street. When I asked for a manager name they said they couldn't give it to me.

I went through the drive thru with only one car ahead of me and ended up waiting 20 minutes for an entirely wrong order and it was cold. Dissatisfied with my food I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager who said that she would give me my money back the next day since I was unable to come back that night. Returned the next day disappointed by the lack of communication between the managers, a rude phone call with the owner of the store who ended up saying that he would not return my money and also hung up the phone in my face. Very dissatisfied with my first experience and I will not be returning.

I was at the chicken express in mustang Oklahoma off the highway of 152. I asked a worker to come over whom I knew and the general manager came up and said you need to stop bugging my workers. I asked if I was hurting any of their business and he said you really don't wanna do this. I said I am giving you money and he said we don't need your money. That was absolute bs to come from a gm. If I am going to come to eat somewhere I shouldn't have to deal with anyone treating me like that. If I was a grown adult he wouldn't have said anything but as a teen he b####ed me out. I've worked in this same type of environment and that isn't acceptable from anyone
product pricing with specials
I recently visited the Main St Chicken Express in Cleburne, Tx and I ordered the special #1 4 piece tender for $5.40 and instead of a drink I wanted two sides. Turns out if you dont get a drink you cannot get the special and have to pay full price for $7.50. This makes no sense since I could get the #1 special and order an additional side and it would still be cheaper than ordering a #1 with two sides. I called the manager at the store and she said that is just how it is and that she cannot do anything about it. I looked online for a corporate phone number and there isn't one and the stores will not give me one. How can things be changed if the managers have no power and you cannot get a hold of corporate? If this is how they decided to do business, then I will no longer be a customer at this food chain.

I was recently in the kilgore, texas chicken express and received incredibly rude and slow service by a manager. She was an older lady with short hair wesring a black shirt. She greeted me with a very short and snarky tone and proceeded to be very short with me as i tried to order. After about 5minutes of waiting i finally received my drink. It took about another 15minutes for me to receive my food and upon receiving it i found out mynroll was burnt and rock solid and i was short a tender. I am incredibly unsatisfied and displeased with the service from this store and especially coming from a manager.

I am very disappointed in this chicken express first off i spent 37.56 for some food that was cold and absolutely gross so when i got to my house to eat it ad found out how it tasted i called the chicken express i then tried explaing how it tasted and the manager had the audacity to try and argue with me and say it was fresh when it clearly wasnt. So after talking to her she said to bring the food back in i told her i lived in eula amd wasnt fixing to drive all the way back so she said bring the reciet in and we'll replace it so when i brought the reciet in they refused to replace kt and was arguing with me again i will never eat at this resturante agaim absoulute horrible experience i do not recommend it to anybody.

I am 35 weeks pregnant and always crave Chicken Express tea, so I go there just about everday. Well, yesterday I went and got a chicken basket for my 2 year old and a tea and when I got home, I tasted the tea and I immediately knew it tasted off and not very good at all. So I drive myself all the way back there and go through the drive thru and tell the man that I come here often because I love their teas but how the one I just got tasted old or something else was wrong with it. He then continued to argue with me about how nothing at all was wrong with the tea and I said "well maybe someone else made it wrong this morning or didn't add enough sugar?" And yet he continued to try to make me feel dumb like I was just making up the whole thing by saying "nope, no same person made it and its just fine". Only thing he did was say "well, you can have a soda instead" Never once apologized. So I just drove off. I work in customer service and one thing you ALWAYS learn working in customer service is not to argue with the customer! This guy was a jerk.

Huge Rant, I ate at the Chicken Express for the first time and will be the last time! I just moved here from California and wanted to try something new and drove to Chicken Express for lunch. I ordered one piece of fish, mashed potatoes, and two hush puppies including a drink for 7.68 for all. Well I didn't look at my box I assumed they got my order right and the lady in the drive Thur said have a good day and I drove back to my job and as I opened the box I had one piece of fish and corn on the cob, no hush puppies but the drink was right. I called in the manager not stating names and told him the information on the ticket. He said let me call you back. He called me back and said "ma'am out of respect I don't believe your statement." I said sir I paid nearly 8$ for a meal and received only a piece of fish and corn on the cob and a soda. This is my first time there and your giving me hands on the most worst experience for a first time customer over a small mistake order? He said again, He stated "ma'am out of respect I don't believe your statement your order was correct and I know your order was correct." I said ok this is the first and last of me coming in doing business he said, " That's fine ma'am have a nice day." I said okay, you too...No help even from the manager I just threw away the box after cold fish and had no appetite I was pretty upset how he handled a very disappointing first and never again experience for me.

I am complaining about a employee named summer at the gunbarrel city store in tx my daughter Christin Schmidt was employed at this store and from her first day she was being bullied by summer and she told the manager's several times and after that summer was bullying her more till November 11 when my daughter couldn't take it anymore and quit her job and went home and overdosed on pills luckily my daughter is still alive today and now summer is bullying the other employees because they are my daughter's friend's something has the done about this girl.

I placed an order at the drive through and gave my card to the order taker. They returned a few minutes later with my receipt and someone else's credit card!
The manager said sorry but there was nothing they could do.
They acted like they didn't care but now I've got to cancel the card and all of my payments I have set up to autopay my bills with.

20 min wait for chicken on bone. Ridiculous main product you sale. I'm waiting as always. Usually have 10 to 15min wait on chicken breast but ant chicken this time insane. I came thru recently and they had no mash? During day completely out no wait time just out. Obviously bad management. Last times came c thru drive thru girls didn't say thank you or any thing handed order and shut window nothing. What happened to polite customer service. I can't give you names. Nobody wears badges here. I was picking up an order I called in. The guy sweeping the dining room put the broom an dust pan away. Went straight to the register, I paid for my food, he gave me cups for drinks. I handed him the cups back and told him that he needed to wash his hands. He looked at both his hands and to, d me nothing were on them. I to, d him to get his super or mgr. He yelled out, "Alaina!". She (mgr I guess) cam over to see what was the problem. I explained the problem and she got upset with me and told him (cashier) "just go wash your hands. The mgr made it out like I was making a big deal of something that was minor. She went back to filling orders.
rounding up totals
I just have a question regarding your "Rounding-Up" policy.
I came by at lunch today & ordered a regular order of jalapeño poppers at a cost of $1.79. The person taking my order at the drive thru advised it would be $2. I paid with two one dollar bills and left.
Once back at work I noticed on the receipt that my total was $1.94 (picture of receipt attached). I thought when I paid the amount requested that surely tax couldn't be $0.21 on $1.79 when our local tax rate is only 8.5%.
I'm just wondering what happens to all the extra $0.06 you collect on every order you round up. Is the person in the drive thru pocketing it as extra income? Is the store using it to offset shortages in the change drawer? Is management aware of this practice and just complicit? Is this a Cleburne franchise only practice or a corporate practice.
At what point do you "Round-Up" a receipt? Anything less than a dime? Less than a quarter?
Don't get me wrong, $0.06 isn't going to break me. However, it's the principle of the matter at hand. The reason I am asking for an explanation is to decide whether I want to do business with your establishment in the future. The second reason is to decide whether this is a practice that I need to make sure the community is aware of so they can check their receipts and change.
If this happens multiple times per hour at multiple registers, in multiple stores in multiple cities throughout Texas & multiple other states that adds up to a lot of money.

On 9/10/16 I stopped by the Big Spring, TX store and ordered the chicken livers which I have done several times before. This time however, when I got home I found that the livers were half raw. They were crispy on the outside but nasty on the inside. Imagine my surprise when I bit into one. I called the local store and asked to speak with the manager but was told she was out and would not be back until 4. So who's running the store? Needless to say you have lost a customer. Way too many other places to eat where the food is cooked the right way.

Placed an order at 445pm (drive thru #340) 9/2/16
After difficulties placing the order, employee was not understanding "15 piece Chicken Tender special/ as advertised on main sign" another employee got on and completed my order. All appeared fine.
Paid $50.85 for my order. They instructed me to pull forward, as it was going to be a "few" minutes for my order.
(15Tenders, 8 pc catfish, poppers, gal.sweet tea)
After 20 min I went inside to see what was the issue.
After waiting 5 min in line (no one would offer assistance ; including the staff manager) an employee came up and assisted me.
I told her I had been now waiting over 20 min to get my order. I showed her my receipt (time stamp) she approached her manager. I heard the blame go back and forth. Then to find out the poppers were not ready and it would be an additional 10 min. I stated to "just give me what you do have ready". The manager then told her to "give her a complimentary sweet tea", I stated you are not giving me anything as I already paid for a gal of sweet tea.
Horrible food service. Not once did anyone other than the young lady look over or apologize.
I overpaid for the quality of food, service, overall experience. I think back and feel that I should have just requested a refund of my money.
I would like a refund.
