My elderly parents were scammed by Clear Rate with the same story of many other victims. Clear Rate contacted them saying AT&T can no longer provide them with a land line and offered them a much lower price. The service was horrible, the land line had static and there is literally no one answering their company phone number, yet the bills keep coming in.
My first email attempt was to an employee who did respond back in June of 2024 saying this:
“I do apologize your service is not working.
You have the Home Connect device and you will need to be on the phone with an agent and by the Home Connect in order for the agent to give you step by step instruction on getting the Home Connect working. Please give us a call perhaps from a cell phone at 877.877.4799 to speak with an agent.
In the meantime, please make sure you do not have the phone cord plugged into the wall jack as you don’t use the wall jack anymore. You can also try power cycling the device as well. Also, you only have landline phone service with Clear Rate.
I primarily assist customers via email and don't schedule call backs. If you require immediate assistance, please reach out to us by calling 877.877.4799 to speak with a live representative.”

However, it is now January of 2025 and no one will answer their number or email me back regarding discontinuing service despite several attempts.
