Wasnt happy with item so I went straight back for a refund. Upon refund I realised I was overcharged for an item as the cashier (Natalie) has put two boxes on top of each other without checking and scanned them as the same price and same item, when they weren't. When I explained this I was refused the refund and then told that they could see me with two of the items. I tried (and I emphasise the word tried) to explain they were two different values. I was accused of lying because they supposedly saw two boxes scan through on cctv. When I questioned where the cctv was for the aisle where I got the boxes as well as the item being put in the conveyor belt I was shut down. They wouldn't listen and refused to give me the refund and was told in a condescending way to prove it. I got in my car drove back home, got the box and was confronted by the cashier Natalie and the manager mark who refused responsibility for her mistake and told me there was no mistake made. I told him I was made out to be a criminal and there was a mistake made by his staff member which no one will acknowledge or take responsibility for. There was no apology by either of them and I was basically ushered out with a refund.
i was embarrassed, accused of theft and implied to be a liar and received no apology and no responsibility was taken on their behalf. This is the poorest display of customer service I have ever encountered.
They need a staff overhaul and training.
I shop there often and will not be shopping there again. I already disliked the customer service I received from the cashiers on my daily shops (sad faces, talking to customers for long periods before serving others, never knowing where items were). I will go back to being a Woolworths customer. i can get my fly buy points elsewhere.
activating a itunes card
Hi
I bought an iTunes card from Coles a few weeks ago for my husband's Father's Day.
We gave it to him last week and realised that it was not activated .
He went back to Coles Southland in Melbourne today to ask them to reactivate it and was told they could not as we had no receipt. I do not keep receipts for shopping for 3 to 4 weeks ago. The manager Jonathan Connor was very rude about it all.
It is disappointing as we regularly shop at Coles and average 200 per week on shopping .
I would like to know who to talk to to get this card reactivate.
Looking forward to hearing back!
The card can not be fixed without the receipt. Anytime you buy a gift card of any kind, it is a good idea to keep the receipt. Saying that, once you pay and get a receipt, the card should be active.
swearing
on the 10/9/16 Saturday night as i was doing my shopping and I saw the duty manager yelling and swearing at another Coles team member the language was uncalled for and very disturbing.. I thought Coles was meant to be a friendly and safe environment
poor quality of fresh bananas given premium price
Today I shopped at Coles (Westfield Burwood, NSW). It took me ten minutes to select six bananas which were of decent quality, which I would have done at any time, but today they were a premium price/kg. Unfortunately, due to the poor lighting in Coles, when I got them home, I discovered some of my bananas were hugely bruised. Fix the lighting. And if you are going to charge $3.90/kg, provide decent bananas. And when I went to self serve checkout, I had to press the "pay now" button FOUR TIMES before it registered that I wanted to pay. Frustrating.
deli department
I was shopping at coles reservoir on 06/09/2016 at deli and took the token or ticket as i was waiting for to be served. Few people started queuing in deli but there was one lady serving customers. she was not calling token or ticket number she was just calling customers by saying who's next. it was not good at all as people started getting served without tokens and i was so upset by that than there was another guy who just turned up from other side and he asked can i help you. i said ofcourse you can i would like to complaint to the duty manager about whatever happenning as other customers were disappointed as well. As soon duty manger peter came he listened to the matter and he did not react to the situation than i asked can i speak to the store manager or deli manager then he casually replied there are not here and i will talk to them. At the end it was very dissatisfying experience for me as i do work in coles supermarket as well.
as a coles employee i would like to have changes done accordingly to the situation and complaints
customer service
Reynella, Sherriffs Road store: There is a check out lady named Di who was extremely rude and abrupt to me today 5/9/2016, she did not say hello, or make any eye contact, and she rudely snapped at me that I had more than twelve items in the express lane, as you know it is hard to just buy a few things in the supermarket and I was only a few items over and I was carrying it all so it was heavy (it is a positive for coles that I bought more than planned). This is the second time I have had an extremely unpleasant time going through her checkout. I am absolutely disgusted by this employee's manner. This employee does not do coles any professional justice as she is very unprofessional and rude. Apart from this one employee it is a rather pleasant store to shop at, I have never had anything but a great experience until this employee Di.

wee willem cigar
I know that at the 1/9/16 tobacco prices increased by 12.5% but about 3 weeks ago the price went up $1.5 per pack of 20. i when to my local coles today and they when from $35 per pack to $44 per pack. to my understanding that is a 26% increase when the government only puts a 12.5% increase on tobacco which brings the price to about $39.36. i went to the bws store out the front and they were cheaper. my local coles store is at the corner of leisure dr and fraser dr banora point.
thankyou
the way they treat their online drivers csa
Hi, My name is Eddie. I recently received a phone call from you in regards to me being an inactive CSA driver.
Prior to being transferred from the Burwood store I received an arm injury where I was unable to work for a few weeks, however this is not the reason as to why I did not bother coming to the greenacre store.
I have been a CSA driver for close to 3 years. During this time I have never had a late delivery nor any complaint about me as a driver which is something I'm proud of. However what has turned me and 11 other drivers which happen to be my mates who have worked in the Burwood store and another 2 from greenacre store and other drivers off this job is a couple of things which I would love to state below.
All the hard work us drivers have done, we never been appreciated by management. Managers expected us to never have a late delivery and kept pushing for us to re do delivers when customers were not home just so their statistics stay high.
Worst thing is to not be appreciated for the hard work we put in.
We get paid as a customer service attendant instead of an actual driver. How is that even fair?
We spend roughly 1 hour in store and 7 hours minimum driving in the worst weather conditions, dealing with disgusting traffic, delivering to some of the worst areas in Sydney, dealing with filthy and disgusting households and dealing with rude, arrogant and smelly customers!
Yet the average Joe stacking shelves in air conditioning is getting paid the same.
Goes to show how pathetic Coles is to legally find a loop hole to pay us as a CSA (CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTENDANT) instead of a DRIVER!
If they cared about their drivers they would pay us like drivers!
Another issue is we never got more than 4 shift a week.
Coles would rather off load the shift to the next driver who has not reached 34 or whatever hours so they don't pay overtime.
How on earth do you expect drivers to be happy and motivated? All the hard work the drivers have done never show in our pay. And even if a driver happens to reach overtime most of the case he won't see the pay that following week. Payroll seems to stuff it up intensionally!
Drivers who have a mortgage or family cannot survive on this pathetic pay!
The amount of drops we had most of time time was ridiculous.
There were times where I have had to do 18-20 drops an evening and at one stage reaching 25 drops. Every time a truck breaks down we as drivers suffer because those drops get offloaded to our run.
The load of drops is a mockery to us drivers and a severe back breaker.
Who in there right mind delivers (60) 30 packs of drinks up 1 flight of stairs? That is almost 540kg weight not including 16 other drops that have to be delivered during the shift.
Other drops I have had was 30 crates of 2 litre soft drinks up 3 levels of stairs without a lift which took over an hour to do.
Each crate had about (6) 2 litre bottles which would roughly weigh 12kg. Times that by 30 crates is 360kg of loading on a truck, unloading from the truck and walking up 3 levels to deliver. And most cases there is never a parking spot or loading dock, so we have to park a distance to deliver.
1 whole pallet of water delivered up a level without a lift and never get help from the cafe or restaurant it was being delivered to.
I complained to Phill state manger and Ben and like always they have a wise man reply, "WE WILL GIVE YOU MORE TIME TO DELIVER" NO! I do not want time! I WANT HELP!
Why should I ruin my back which I have had slipped disk because of this job, strain my knees and sweat it out to deliver up 3 levels just because the customer paid their pathetic $12 deliver fee which we as drivers don't get rewarded for.
What's more absurd about this is, it's all businesses doing these massive drink orders! Yet management don't care about the well being of their drivers. I have spoken to management about these businesses but nothing ever happened!
Another frustrating thing is we get no help from the customers that have these bulk order delivered to them, knowing they live on high levels that have no lift and most cases no parking!
If you ever wondered why most CSA's have injuries maybe you should look at the weight of the drops and what levels the orders are being delivered.
I have attached an image for reference.
Delivering to the city is atrocious and management expects us to deliver no matter what. How the hell can we deliver when there is no parking especially during peak hour and clearway! (IMAGE ATTACHED OF A COMPLAINT BETWEEN ME AND ANOTHER DRIVER AND A COMPLAINT TO MANAGEMENT WRITTEN DOWN)
I have on numerous occasions complained to the managers about changing delivery times during clearway and peak hour yet nothing was ever done. Management looks at us like we are whinging and complaining.
Does management not understand how stressful it is for drivers with these type of deliveries?
To add to this, we deliver to the city which is all high rise buildings than we have to deal with the bull of butt head security guards, loading dock restrictions and parking!
In severe wet weather and storms we still have to deliver. Severe electrical storms and hail we have to deliver. Management provides us with the worst wet weather jacket ever created! Do you not realise that when it rains drivers are absolutely soaked for their remainder of there shift? Do you not realise that we are not given full proper wet weather gear? Yet like usual management don't give a dam about their drivers. As long as they have made their revenue with the delivery fee.
Do you not realise how terrible the trolleys are? Do you realise that the trolley if full steel and in severe and most don't have proper hand grips and in electrical storms that would make it a hazard? Either way they are the worst trolleys! Do you know that when these backyard built trolleys are loaded with crates and you come to a little dip in the footpath either the trolley flips forward and everything falls down or you get stuck in the dip? Happened to me on numerous occasions and at times the wheel has fallen off! (IMAGE ATTACHED OF TROLLY HANDLE)
MDTS that were being used are so outdated compared to today's technology and just as bad are the maps. All my time at coles I have had to use my personal mobile phone and navigator because the MDTS are a complete failure!
On numerous occasions I have been abused by customers because I am early than their estimated email stated, yet I was in the time frame they have chosen. (IMAGE ATTACHED)
Been abused because I rang the door bell while their spoilt baby was sleeping!
Been told off because their meats were not cold enough. This I can blame management for sending out groceries numerous times in summer knowing the refrigeration in the truck was not working! On most occasions I felt sorry for the customers who were receiving the orders that had milk and meat.
As mentioned before, most customers houses are DISGUSTING AND FILTHY!
There has been cases where I have had to walk over clutter, shoes, toys, dogs and narrow hallways to get to the kitchen. There has been times where I have scratched the walls as the crates don't fit in the hallways, other times I have knocked over ornaments, on one occasion I have tripped over.
I just don't understand with all this job load why we have to deliver to the kitchen? Management assumes it's not a big deal delivering groceries to the kitchen, well me and nearly every driver says yes it is a BIG DEAL! It is never a smooth drop. It's not as easy as delivering to a mailbox. We have to deal with terrain, enormous amount of stairs, majority of the drops are all up on high levels with only stairs as access, narrow side houses where the trolley does not fit, almost zero visibility at night time when entering a property, mosquitos and dog poo.
A household in Redfern the customer was smoking marijuana. STILL HAD TO ENTER!
Other cases that have severe cigarette smoke, cat urine, curry smelling houses where my clothes stunk for the remainder of my shift. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING especially in cold weather when you walk in it's like a furnace inside with windows all closed!
One customer had severe dog urine and faeces all over the floor! STILL DELIVERED TO THE KITCHEN! YUK!
Ashfield customer was gay and always answers the door in his undies!
Had to deliver to the C Club swingers while it was open for business! Porn movies were being played on big screens and people inside socialising, drinking and getting ready to screw each other. That was rather filthy AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!
Another was delivery boys transvestite brothel, again it was opened for business and disgusting when you get other men entering the premises while I'm there delivering there bulk order drinks, tissue and lubricant!
Stated above is just a fraction of what us drivers have to deal with.
Than comes all the bull of paper work and forms us drivers have to fill out just to delivery groceries to these arrogant, ignorant and smelly customers!
Never thought a customer service attendant must have qualifications like a mechanic because thats what it exactly feels when we have to do a truck inspection before our shift! Check tyres, check brakes, check brake lights, check oil, check windscreen, check fuel and the list goes on. FIX YOUR TRUCKS BEFORE YOU EXPECT US TO DO A 100 POINT INSPECTION. Always dealt with trucks that never had cargo lights, floor in cargo area had raised points which made it a pain in the butt to move crates around, rear cargo step is either loose or on an angle, hand support bar on cargo on one occasion broke off with me when I was trying to climb in, cigarette lighter always had a blown fuse, so we always had issues charging our gps and phone. Flat battery during our shift, refrigeration kept breaking down and most cases the hybrid trucks would just not turn on!
Now this is a drivers average day...
Log on at 2pm
Log onto the MDT that takes forever to load
Go to loading dock Scan truck
Scan run sheet.
Come back Consolidate orders
Push out orders to loading dock
Reverse Truck to loading dock
Check frozen orders and bulk
Scan orders
Load orders on truck and most cases pathetic heavy loads
Help the next driver load
Do a 100 point truck check
Press navigate and wait about 10 minutes for gps to even pick up an address which will not deliver you to the destination
Deal with Sydney's worst traffic
Delivery to the most disgusting households
Deal with weather issues
Deal with parking issues
Deal with pushing a fully loaded trolley uphill to a destination
Deal with carrying the groceries up 3 levels
Deal with filthy households
Deal with arrogant customers
And that is just sequence 1! Than we have 17 more drops in bad areas with some cases over 500kg a drop.
Please don't tell me why coles management is still wondering why they have a high number of driver turnovers!
THERE ARE 6 MISTAKES MANKIND MAKES CENTURY AFTER CENTURY PLUS A 7TH I HAVE ADDED
1. Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others;
2. Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected;
3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it;
4. Refusing to set aside trivial preferences;
5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind;
6. Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.
7. BEING A COLES ONLINE DRIVER!
When coles rectify these issues, this is when they will keep their drivers!

I was shopping at Coles Ashfield for more than 33 years and I never encounter any problems. As much as possible I don’t want to complain but one of your check out staff was so mean to me. You usually have two checkout counters, she is Asian I know her name but I wouldn’t mention her here. Whenever I have to pay which as much aa possible I was trying to avoid, she wouldn’t say hello, good afternoon, etc. She would start scanning my groceries as if she was throwing it and would give me my change without saying thank you. This is an ongoing scenario all the time. I don’t know why she was treating me this way as I am also Asian myself. I got another friend who was Asian and she had the same experience with her. I have been a valued customer shopping 1-3 times a week. Most of the time I don’t feel like coming to your store. Why shop with Coles when the staff are like this.

halal mark
I have been trying to find halal products in various coles supermarkets so that I can avoid buying them, as my religion forbids me to eat such products.
I started in the meat sections. Nothing. I hailed the managers, and their answers were virtually the same - that not always did the individual packages carry the mark. The mark was sometimes only displayed on the boxes the meat came in! I was also told that all coles lamb and beef was halal!
I am being duped into buying meat killed in the most disgusting method, which very definitely flaunts my religion, and as well am paying a tax that is used for the benefit of another religion. If you offer concessions to that religion how do you justify leaving me with no purchasing choices regarding beef and lamb? And why do you so blatantly dupe your majority customers by not advising of halal?
My religion's dietary laws forbid eating any meat sacrificed to false gods, and if I believe that my god is true, then theirs is false, and there is sacrifice involved (the prayer when the throat is slit).
My religion? Christian.
Store moves & cleaning products
It seems that the Ellenbrook store is in a major move. Firstly, I have never seen such a mess doing my weekly shop. I had to wait for a few minutes before I could actually go down two aisles. Couldn't even get pass another trolley! Customers were getting frustrated as you couldn't actually stop to grab what I actually needed. At the end I left my shopping and walked and went to Woolsworth. The aisles have been fixed and now you can actually get two trolleys side by side and have enough room to look at the products.
For the last 8 weeks I have been wanting to buy Coles Metho been sold out for weeks clearly moving a store around some products seem to be not being replaced. Why? It's business as usual when you move a store around. Yesterday, I go in for my weekly shop again the store has moved products around again this has been going on for weeks on end. I go to buy Coles bleach as I have my own cleaning business no stock again! Frustrating indeed. You can't tell me that because you can't get a store move correct the first time you STOP getting popular products in for customers to buy.
My question is when is this store move stopping and when will the above products be available to purchase again? Aldi is coming in Nov and it seems I will be one of their new customers due to the frustration of not being able to purchase many products from this store. Yes, I have ask staff when the stick is coming in. Blank looks on the faces even asked to speak to a manager... Always busy...
So today I travelled to another store to bulk purchase these two products. Won't be doing it again will certainly be going elsewhere and that won't be a Cokes supermarket.
Please explain!
fruit
This week I purchased some nectarines from the USA for $12 a kilo. They looked ripe on the outside but when we bit into them they were not only rock hard but had absolutely no taste. We had only one good batch of nectarines this season. The stone fruit, in general, is disgusting. We deserve a better deal from Coles.
Our Clifton Beach store is in a busy tourist area and often shelves are empty and we are forced to shop elsewhere - very disturbing and increasing trend. Ordering and supply are obviously an on-going issue.
staff
On Thursday the 18/08/2016 i went to my local coles to get a few things as i do most nights...i grabbed my few groceries and went thru the checkout paid for my goods and left i got about 50 metres away from the store when i was approached by security and asked to return to the store...I asked why and he just said come with me so i did once i got back to the store the security guard asked the coles women is this him? she said yes. I was totally confused about what was happening so i asked whats going on?she said you put something down the back of your pants i was totally shocked i was being accussed of shop lifting...i had put something down the back of my pants my car KEYS...i pulled them out and showed her but she wouldnt except it and she started raising her voice pointing her finger at me saying i seen you you put something down the back of your pants by this stage all the other customers had stoppped to stare to see what all the fuss was about...i offered for them to look down my pants if they really wanted to...by this time another coles worker appeared i think it was the duty manager and said its fine you can go no apology no nothing...how unprofessional...i contacted the store manager the next day he was apparently looking into it...five days later and still no reply again unprofessional...i will not be going back to coles i will shop elsewhere i am considering legal action as this is deformation of character. Totally unprofessional how this was handled and how the staff spoke to me...i made sure they knew i was unhappy and will be going elsewhere from now on i gave them the chance to fix this and they have ignored me
Deformation of character?!
credit card fraud dept.
I noticed 3 unauthorised transactions from my Woolworths prepaid card on 18/8/16 to Coles financial services Hawthorn east Victoria. I called Woolworths credit card dept who said the quickest way to sort it out was to call the Coles dept myself.
I called Coles financial services last week 19/8/16 and was on the phone for an hour but was told I had no accounts with them and wasn't registered with them. Which I obviously wasn't as I was complaining that the money was taken from my account BY them.
I called again this afternoon and was given the direct number for the Hawthorn dept. On calling the man who answered kept insisting that I had the wrong number even though the answering machine said I had the right dept. He was quite rude and was of no help whatsoever. My account is now missing over $400 in 3 transactions to your dept and no one will find out why.
I have the same problem. Over $600 in around 8 transactions from Coles financial services hawthorn east. Nobody at Coles seems to be able to understand or help in any way. Seems nobody knows anything in the financial department.
deli staff corinda qld. bad manned staff being rude to customers
My wife was shopping at Coles Corinda and asked for some small goods at the deli and the woman named Debbie was so rude to her, my wife is now considering shopping else where. This person is never over friendly but normally bearable, but to day was so rude. Why work in the public if your like this?
It seems that when you complain to a big company like Coles it's not important to get back to you. It looks like the general policy is to ignore you the customer. That same person the shops in their supermarkets each week, seems like there happy to take your money but not much else. So maybe this is why the staff treat the customers the way they do. Good on you Coles.
Funny how you can make a complaint and don't hear anything from these types of companies, but are there every week to take your money. This is probably why there staff are the way they are. GOOD ON YOU COLES.
What do you think people are like? I'm willing to wait but someone that is rude and can't careless about the customer has no place in retail.
Rude in a way that said she didn't give a ###. We don't mind waiting and find it ok to be told "I will be with you in a moment". If you think that's rude maybe you should get home delivery.
Don't message me again. I am a southerner not a yankee.
Maybe they think your complaint is is frivolous. Most are.
How was she rude? Most people think "I will be with you in a moment" is rude.
coles beef bbq sausages 19/08/2016
I was the bbq cook for Beldon primary schools fundraiser. The 200+sausages were a descrace, upon them touchdown on the bbq we experienced splitting which exposed the grey matter inside. I struggle to call it beef as I have not experienced any thing similar in my fourty four years on my this planet. The insides of the sausages was full of fat and muscle with the above mentioned (grey matter). As I was only a helper I continued to cook the sausages with revolsion. The more that the sausages split and burst the more repulsed I was by the SMELL . As a sausage eater and lover I have NOT seen or smelt anything like it.. After the CHILDREN received them I watched one after another take a bite, screw up their face in revolsion and then proceed to the bin to spit it out and throw the rest away... This is the one time that we try and make money for a cause and it isn't helped if the kids won't come back again to eat. I am appalled that you try and call them beef sausages. I did not buy them but was assured that straight after purchase they were stored correctly overnight and considering a max temperature of only 18 degrees, the ten minutes to the fridge seems likely to be irelivant . I can only say that I have requested for them never to purchased again. What a discrace.. Not happy..
44 years on this earth and you never managed to learn how to spell.

To whom it may concern,
I am a very loyal coles customer. i shop regularly at my local coles which is: flinders st & wiluna street
Flinders square, 6060
[protected]
On thursday 7th july 2016, i did a quick shop at coles which included my absolute favourite - coles licorice mix 750gm (please see attached photo)
Bar code: [protected] @ $4.00 (please see attached coles receipt for this licorice mix).
My favourite part of the bag are the 100's and 1000's coated licorice which is clearly displayed on the packaging as being part of the licorice mix.
However, in this particular packet, there was absolutely zero of these 100's and 1000's coated licorice.
I am on a permanent disability support pension and money is very tight.
I buy a bag of this licorice mix once a fortnight when i get my pension. this bag has to last me 2 x weeks so you can imagine my disappointment when i opened the bag and found my favourite missing.
I would like to be compensated in the form of a coles credit so i can buy another bag which hopefully will have all of the described licorice mix inside. thank you.
unethical behaviour
Hi, I was shopping in coles Supermarket Goulburn. When I saw a long-term member that's been a Coles worker for over 15 years as far as I am aware be totally abused by the Coles manager for talking to a cleaner about what time they were shutting the store when this Coles manager by the name of Lisa talked to this employer like she was 10 years old I think if...

Wednesday, 17th august. Today I went to buy a bbqd chicken & hot chips. Long queue. One staff member there to do it all. How can this be? Then long wait at check out. Not acceptable at all. It just gets worse & worse.
Yesterday thursday, 18th august I also went to buy a bbq chicken & hot chips. Very quiet. A very obese man in a red shirt with glasses was serving other customers at another part of the counter down the far end. After finishing that transaction he just went back to cleaning another area & ignored me. I really had to yell at him to get any service. Late afternoon.
Why do I continue to deal with coles george street central you may so rightly ask? Because it is close to where I work.
purchasing cooked chicken saturday, august 13 at coles george street central, sydney nsw store number 0857.
Today at around 1400 hours Saturday, 13th August I went & tried to purchase a cooked chicken. The Asian lady there just kept her back turned to me so after standing there for awhile I asked her a question & I was ignored. I asked again & ignored again so I called out in a louder voice. She then said she couldn't hear me. I had to repeat my question four (4) times total. After the 3rd time she said she couldn't understand the question. This is just ridiculous. My question was "how long would it take her to cook some wedges" as there were none there. With such a dreadful attitude she just put them in the fryer cooker & walked away to serve someone else at the other end of the counter. Eventually someone else came & served me. This is just not good enough. I know that William is the store manager tel [protected]. I had already wasted enough time in the store by this time.
Sunday, 14th August. 0903 hours morning. Today I went into this store again this time to buy some ginger ale. Not a huge purchase I do admit. However I attended self check out. I wanted a 50 cent piece for a public 'phone from my change. It gave me 2, 20 cent pieces & a 10 cent piece. No-one wanted to serve me. Female staff kept on just walking past ignoring me. Surely if I am standing there with no staff member in front of me at their cash register I am waiting on some service. I was at the cash register which sells tobacco. Finally a young gentleman came & served me. Are not most of the staff cash register trained ? Certainly not trained in good customer service. That is for sure. I told the gentleman my sentiments so a girl already serving someone else with glasses on to the left around the corner really kept on glaring at me.
