employees conduct and service
I was shopping at the Coles Altona meadows store where two workers were having a conversation while working. One saying to the other "f*** you dude". I really don't want to hear this type of language when I shop and I find it unprofessional. In the same week I also seen another boy moving a trolley full of stock while texting on his phone! What is going on in this store!? It's gone down hill! I've noticed things like this more and more often and just have to say something.
shell petrol
I have regularly purchase petrol from Shell Service Stations using my Fly buy card and 4c voucher. Yesterday I was informed that this is no longer available. You can now only use either flybuys or voucher, not both. What is the difference in purchasing groceries at half price using your flybuys? I will no longer buy petrol from the Shell outlets. Ray jenner.
regional manager
I have worked at Coles Bathurst for a few years now and enjoyed the spirit of the store. We had this lovely photo wall just out the back of achievements and events in our team. The regional manager demanded we take down this photos, labelling them as 'clutter'. I am disgusted that this sadistic man is able to come into our store and destroy any morale we had in the store. Is this what Coles believes acceptable, allowing terrible people to ascend to the position of manager just to terrorise the employees? Something should be done about this, taking away team spirit degraded every aspect of supermarket service.
regarding employee harassment
I am a regular customer at Balgowlah Coles at Stockland. I have notice this several time regarding Coles Duty Manager harassing one of the employees.
I was disgusted my the same duty managers attitude towards the same employee when i went to male toilet yesterday. I heard him shouting at the employee and swearing at him as well. This absolutely disgusting and how is he getting away with this kind of attitude.
winmalee coles - harassment saturday 29th october 2-16
Yesterday I was doing my normal weekly shop at coles at winamlee. I self check out most of the time.
I had a young male employee of coles question me if I had scanned everything.
I said him yes, of course I have!
He came up to me three time to ask me if I was scanning all the goods that I have.
I said "yes I have, why?"
Then once I had paid $249.00 for my shopping, I was walking out of the store and the same young man stopped me to look at my docket.
Now while I can appreciate that coles are trying to clamp down on shop lifters, I think that monstering and harrassing someone is not the way to go about it.
I was made to feel like a criminal on the way out standing there with all my paid shopping while this young man checked my receipt, what was hoping to achieve by doing this?
I was embarrassed and upset.
The cost of living is ridiculous, we are all trying to do our best and we can certainly do without the power trip of some young person honing in on your personal space and virtually pointing the finger.
Train your staff properly, you will loose customers as well as your items that are walking out the door unpaid for.
Highly unimpressed.
staff member
I went into coles to purchase a lighter for candles at home. Just a lighter, nothing else. The lady looked me up and down and asked to see my ID. I know for a fact you dont need to see ID for just a lighter. She was on a power trip and belittling me. I am 26 and had to show her ID for a lighter? I asked her if she was joking and she scoffed and demanded to see my ID. Please.
Either show ID or go elsewhere. Your complaint is stupid.
coles
My husband was reciently dismissed from Coles after an altication with a customer who verbally abused him, my husband after listening to the abuse for quite some time, told him he was a frigen idiot and to leave, my husband was sacked for this, my husband proir to this had only praises from customers, customers leaving great reports about his customer service, the customer has now taken my husbands job, our kids Christmas, why should anyone have to put up with abusive customers he is only a worker he doesn't set the prices, people need to understand this .
older supervisor at the self scan checkout 4;10pm 27.10.16
I have been shopping at Coles Casula for more than 20 years and today the lady supervising the self scanning check out made me feel like a criminal!
She watched me scan every item which I totally understand and at the end after I paid asked for me to show her all the nuts I had self packed, weighed, scanned and labelled near the fruit department inside the store.
She then continued to say as I stressingly fussed about looking for the products 'are you sure that's all you purchased before I go through the entire docket?' Immediately I paniced thinking 'OMG! Did I buy more?' I was so STRESSED I couldn't even think straight not to mention being so embarrassed infront of other customers.
As it worked out, I had bagged 4 items and made an error labelling one causing Coles a loss of $1!
I was taken to the front desk infront of the security guard where all the bags were 're-weighed and checked'. The item was refunded and re-purchased for another $1!
I apologised 4-5 times but not once did she say 'I apologise for the inconvenience'.
The point of my complaint is this: I understand that it is her job to keep an eye on customers, I understand that people take things deliberately but was it necessary for her to treat me like that?
I was shaken at first but now I am angry and disappointed in the customer service offered even though it was my $1 error for inserting the wrong code when weighing my item.
I should never go back but I LOVE the store.
Can you please tell your Thursday surpervisors to 'take it easy?'. I don't even LOOK like a seedy criminal but was treated as one!
Kind regards
Upset Local Customer who has The Valley Plaza across the road, but chooses to go to Casula
staff
I was shopping at Coles in Ringwood late night after work. While I done with my shopping and walked out the store, I saw a female coles staff at her early 20s driving a car with rego WFO055, smoking with her friends outside the shopping centre. The female has serious attitude problem. She was wearing coles' uniform and started to humiliate some chinese people who just walk by. That's not cool to humiliate someone if she's not happy with her job or work enviroment. Please, Coles, if you read this you need to take some action for your staffs to stop destroy your reputation.
deli
I was in your Woodend store on the morning of 19th October 2016, when your Deli Manager, Pam, was verbally attacking one of your younger team members.
She was extremely distressed & upset, which seems to be a common occurrence in this place as I have seen this many times before.
This should be dealt with as this is not the first time this has happened and I suspect it wont be the last, NOT GOOD ENOUGH - Name with held
liquorland employee - rude and aggressive customer service
I have shopped at Coles/Liquorland in Taylors Hill ever since it was built and for a few years now have not complained despite many employee mistakes or spoilt produce purchases because most of the time the staff have been very polite and accommodating.
However, yesterday at Coles Liquorland employee rudely declined service to me over single bottle liquor worth 4.5% because I had left my ID at home and I "looked" under 25, even though I am well over the legal age. I have held an RSA certificate for the past 6 years and am aware that this is a valid reason for refusal of service, however, he was very rude and aggressive towards me and I left the store feeling very upset and humiliated. From now on I'll be getting my liquor from any of the five other liquor stores (Dan Murphy's and Woolworth's) in the area where they won't be so rude.
The word no is always rude these days. Get over it.
rude and racist behaviour!!

I have never throught that I still see such behaviour in Australia. Miss Melissa was so rude to a young couple who want to tried on the hat in the store and didn't want to buy at the end. Miss Melissa force the couple to buy that hat because the lady have put it in her head, because miss Melissa said no one will buy that hat anymore, but in fact I throught that we or anyone that want to buy a hat need to tried it on to fit or suitability. I just think that miss Melissa was just being racist against.
Valued customer to Coles is very upset.
self scan checkout system
I use the self scan check out system at supermarkets and I am used to a system that allows you to scan one item at a time and weighs the item scanned in the shopping bag before allowing you to scan the next item. Today (12 October 2016) I found that the Coles Supermarket at Yarraville, has changed their system and it is now possible to accidentally scan the same item several times and be charged multiple times for the same item. I discovered this because I accidentally overcharged myself.
To remedy this, you have to call the sales assistant over and either start scanning your shop all over again or somehow demonstrate that you have accidentally scanned an item twice. I buy cat food from Coles and as multipacks of the product I buy have not been discarded I have to scan 20 to 30 small packets of cat food at each shop - and I do this twice each week. I am fairly confident that I have overcharged myself in the past. I am also fairly confident that if I were to shop at Coles and accidentally double swipe an item towards the end of my purchase that I would think twice about trying to get a refund. I am quite sure that this is what Coles intends.
The "new" and "improved" supermarket where I used to shop has reduced its number of self checkout stands; there used to be 12 and I think there is only 9 or 10 now - and has significantly reduced the ones that accept cash. There is also a prompt to speed you up if you pause too long. I believe these changes place time pressure on the consumer.
I will never shop at Coles again. I am quite tired of this bullying corporate entity continually being caught out in dishonest and unfair practices. However, I think that many people will continue to shop at Coles despite the risk that they will overcharge themselves, and some people re likely to overcharge themselves without knowing that they have done so. Coles has not informed customers of the changes it has made to its self check out system. I think a consumer watchdog should force Coles to return to its previous process or another process that protects the interests of customers.
rudeness of employee
I visited store 524 CS The Pines register 001 receipt number 4723 and am absolutely flabbergasted at the rudeness of a young employee named Anastasia who ordered me to leave the store 5 minutes before the store was due to close because (her exact words) "I want to go home", swore under her breath at me, then told me to shut up when I commented on her rudeness, and had the worst attitude I have ever come across. I complained about her to the manager Craig at the time. Even the girl who served me apologised to me. If this girl Anastasia is so desperate to go home and has no ability to show respect for the place that employs her and to the customers that purchase from the store, she does not deserve to have a job at the place. As a person that employs people I would never want her working for me. She makes me uninterested in purchasing from that store again. I strenuously request that you act immediately to remove Anastasia from interacting with your customers.
employee occupational health and safety
I am the parent of a 20 year Coles employee who has just recently resigned, he has been a dedicated employee to Coles, over the past years after working 12 to 16 hour days consistently, due to continual employee absenteeism, just to maintain shop stocks, ordering and organizing employees, this is getting worse by the year and he has really had no life outside Coles, he had a visit from your HR manager who basically said she was disappointed with him after spending so much money on training him, not finding out the real problems and trying to alleviate the real and worsening problem at Coles, I believe you are loosing a first rate employee from the taree area, you should be ashamed of your attitude toward your first rate employees, you need to look closely at the reality of your problems and get the true feedback from your staff,
expectantly don.p
steggles turkey mince
On Sunday 25th September we bought multiple meat products and transported them to our fridge within 15 minutes. They have been in the fridge together (as you can see by the picture), however, the Steggles Turkey mince - 3x packets - have expanded as if they have been out of the fridge.
The use by / best before date is the 4th October (longer life than the other meat products) and when I [censored]ed the packet to open and use the meat on Thursday 29th it smelt disgusting and rancid to the point we have had to discard the packets immediately.
In turn, we had to order a takeaway costing $28 as we were unable to use the meat for dinner.
I would like to reimbursed the $15 for the Turkey mince we were unable to use and the additional $28 for the takeaway as this was due to not being able to cook the final meal of the week from our weekly shop.
I have contacted both Steggles and Coles.
If you have any questions please get in touch.
Thanks.

pork boneless roast
Today i purchased a Forquarter Pork Boneless. I at $7.50 a kilo i bought a large piece @ a total cost of $ 19.23 .. The first disapointment was the smell as i opened the bag, it smelt dirty. we did cook some up adding a marinade but it was unedible. It tasted awful but the worst thing was myself encountering a metal object representing a nail which i bit heavily into. I will return the product tomorrow (over 100kms round trip) to lodge a complaint with the store. I am a regular customer of this Coles store but i question my loyalty now as there is 2 other supermarkets close by.
Was served today by the deli manager at Coles wilsonton today. I understand it is a stressful time but she was rude and Inconsiderate. Needs more training on customer service
I would like to submit a complaint regarding the total lack of public toilet facilities at the Elsternwick store on Glenhuntly Road
I asked Coles Ormeau if they would price match with Woolworths, they advertised Almond Breeze unsweetened Almond milk 1 litre for half price $1.25. I was told no. So I purchased 12 litres of it from there Ormeau Woolworths. I'm loyal to flybys ane Coles. It's disappointing that no questions were asked, it was just a straight no.
Ridiculous I was not allowed entry into the store i visit every night but was told no due to it being closed while customers were in store being served and still 10 minutes until closing. Why the [censored] is there a word limit to your complaints my complaint should not be overlooked simply because of the number of words very poor service
I bought this product thinking it was going to taste good as most Portuguese products do but found this product to taste absolutely disgusting. It tasted like it had detergent of some sorts as a marinade not a Portuguese chicken flavour by any means so in the bin it went. I found this product fowl. Excuse the pun.
I just bought juice now, and found fly in a fully sealed juice bottle.
I just bought a pack of Roast chicken from Coles, Noble Park.
Chicken was roast to burnt.
Bad taste and charred.

I want to say that on Saturday afternoon the 21 September we were in the store and Ellie went beyond what she would be expected to do with a trouble client my Friend and this was the only place I could find to send a positive report about her
I tried your on-line shopping for the first (and last) time! You charged me a delivery charge $10 and your promotion said the delivery was free!
The delivery driver dumped the order at the door and didn't ring the doorbell or even knock! Total Charged $59.45 Store 0651 LC: 04

Hi there why is it at diamond creek store doesn't give out free fruit to the kids but other stores do? It is such a good idea why not?
drivers behaviour
Whilst travelling on the M4 motorway this morning in lane 3 at approx 6.30am, the above mentioned Coles delivery truck, sign written with the name Lloyd, changed from lane 1 to lane 2 where he tailgated the car in front of him and then proceeded to move into my lane with out indicating whilst I was partly beside his vehicle. After passing him he proceeded to tailgate very close to the back of my vehicle at a distance I considered dangerous and intimidating for the speed we were travelling at (70 -80kms)We then came upon bumper to bumper traffic in the Wentworthville to Mays Hill to Silverwater stretch of the motorway, where on two accasions he struggled to stop, almost running into the back of my car in the crawling traffic, whilst eating his food and checking his phone. Approaching Silverwater, our "driver of the century", changed lanes twice and accelerated passed me, now in lane 1, where I lost site of the idiot until I exited the Motorway at the Silverwater Rd Exit. Whilst turning on to Silverwater Rd, myself and others had to drive over the gutter around an accident. Yes, you guessed it, here was "Lloyd the ###" with his truck imbedded into the back of some poor persons silver Toyota. Whilst going around the accident I couldn't help but to stop, put my window down and gain Lloyds attention, and tell him what I thought of him and his lack of respect for others on the road.
It would be an eye opener for a middle manager from Coles to get in the truck with this clown for an hour in the traffic and observe his behaviour behind the wheel, after which, I have no doubt you would take him back to the yard and tell him to get a job else where.
I for one will be on the look out for Lloyd, and I will continue to complain if I see a repeat of his behaviour. I'll also be purchasing a dash cam this week, that should help also. A current affair programs love stuff like that. I only wish I had one this morning.
I really hope the person in the Toyota was ok this morning, though we shouldn't have to put up with idiots like this.
Please Coles, talk to this clown before he hurts someone.
service
I went shopping and bought 8 items, went through 12 items or less BUT it took 30 min to get served as the cashier took 2 customers with trolleys which had about 50 items . i complained about it but they said not much could be done. then the cashier who was as slow as a snail STOPS a puts lolly in his mouth, I was furious as i had a person in car not well.i comlained to a coles person but they didnt do anything. NEVER again will i shop there again.
I sent an email to coles customer care hoping to get an answer but no. Its 8 days it was on 18 sept and nothing. They need to put the sign at EYE level and put STRICTLY 12 ITEMS OR LESS no trolleys.
3 registers were closed, how good is that for service.
Still have not heard a thing.
Coles can stick there shop at least W.Wths will come to open a cashier service
Wonder if i get an answer. Erika
slippery floor
I wish to complain about a recent fall I had in Coles, Mentone on Wednesday 14 September at approximately 10:50am.
Due to the slippery floor, I slipped and fell over. It was lucky I didn't do any real damage as I already have an existing back injury.
What annoyed the most was that apart from a kind elderly customer who came up to me and checked on me, none of your staff did.
I spent 15 dollars on 10 passionfruit today, when i got home only 2 of the fruit had any eatable fruit inside.. $7.50 per passionfruit
