disrespectful treatment
I had completed my shopping, and was rolling my very full cart towards the exit. Granted, it was 8:25pm and the store was closing at 8:30pm, so I realize the employees were ready to head for home. HOWEVER, I had just spent well over $300 in your store, and found the need to conduct some personal business on my cell phone. So, as I was slowly heading to the exit, one of the persons who verifies your purchases with your receipt started motioning to me, saying very abruptly, "Hurry up...come on...come on...faster, faster..." I was appalled!
When I reached the exit, I explained to the other attendant (black female) that I did NOT APPRECIATE BEING RUSHED! She said that she completely agreed.
I went back to read the man's name tag who had been so rude to me.
Burnell. Tall, black man who seemed very outgoing, flirting with all the other young black girls working there!
I only wish he had been as kind to his customers!
I'm very disturbed by his unprofessionalism and I truly hope that I am not RUSHED out of a Costco store in the future!
Not simple at all. I had every right to conduct my personal business on my personal phone while still in the parameters of their store. The store was still OPEN FOR BUSINESS. There is NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER for treating a paying customer so rudely! NONE AT ALL!
milk
I brought milk from Costco Lawrenceville NJ 0n 09/21/16. Cap of milk gallon was damaged but I didn't noticed it. When I reach home 1/4 gallon of milk is on the floor of my Van. Now it making very bad smell and my kids are not ready to ride in the van. I would like to know what Costco can do to fix this problem?
They are not going to do a thing. You can't prove it was their fault. You can't prove one of your kids didn't knock the bottle open. They will do nothing. Once you leave the store with something, it's your problem.
otterbox screen protector
We purchased a Samsung S7 Edge phone on August 6, 2016 for my husbands work we also purchased an otter box case w/screen protector at that time, not 10 days later the screen protector had a hole in it and dust underneath the sides, I asked at the kiosk about a replacement & they told me to contact the Otterbox company. I went home & finally got to speak with a human being & they said that since it was less than 30 days old I would need to go to Costco to have it replaced. So, 2nd trip to Costco & the lady at the service desk was very pleasant & said that it would be replaced, however, they were out of them at the moment & didn't know when they would receive another shipment. Called and checked on Monday September 19 & was told they had come in so, 3rd trip to Costco this morning & was told after 30 days I needed to contact Otterbox told them that was not what I was told so then they tried to say I hadn't been charged for the screen protector, then was told it was in a bundle & we had to return the whole thing (whatever that was) I'm assuming the case & the screen protector? So 3 trips & still no decent screen protector...thanks for NOTHING!

So upset right now, because I have tried to post this on costcos website and it will not post stating error. Tried to haggle with camping world Longmont since costcos pricing was so high but they would not budge.
pharmacist clackamas oregon costco
I have had the displeasure of being spoken to in a rather offputting manner on several occasions, simple respect and kindness when working with the public isn't much to hope for. This woman is just plain rude and disrespectful. Katherine should not be speaking on the phone or in person to the public. A review would be in order. I understand working with people isn't always easy, people using a pharmacy are often sick, in pain etc. kindness should be required. I am not thin skinned by the way, I work in the dental field, I would no longer have a job if I spoke to our patients in this manor.
Thank you for your time

employees
It was 8:25pm I was running to grab baby wipes while my partner went to get in line. 2 Costco employees started yelling at me from halfway across the store that they were closed and that I could not get the item I wanted. Both employees were extremely rude and quite frankly have made me want to NEVER shop there again. I will be changing my membership from Costco to Sams Club.
costco.com tire service.
8/17/2016
I ordered one set of tires on Costco.com. The order didn't go through. On 8/18/2016 I ordered another set of tires, because I wanted to get them through Costco. I contacted the customer service line. They said they would be sending 2 sets of tires. I explained the computer glitch with the first order, and they said that they couldn't cancel the tires because both sets were already en route.
On 8/26/2016 I had one set of tires installed on my Jeep. The warehouse refunded me for one set of tires.
On 9/14/2016 Costco.com took another $500 from my checking account, saying we owed them for a second set of tires, even though we only received one.
Costco.com customer service said they were entitled to the second charge, even though we only had one set of tires. I have been a Costco customer for more than 10 years. I doubt I will ever shop there again. They stole $500 from me.
tire shop
I took my Nissan Pathfinder for a tires rotation and balancing last Sunday 09/11/2016 to Costco of Yonkers NY. 20 Stew Leonard Dr Yonkers, NY [protected]. The odometer was reading 23, 670 miles. The tire rotation was due at 23723 miles so about 50 miles under. I was refused to have the rotation although I was paying for the service. I told them with a grin that this was the second time I had an incident at this tire store. In the pass 4 moths I took my 2008 RAV4 for tire service to the same place, I drop the key and my signature, to my surprise upon my return they told me the tires of my vehicle were under the specifications for a rotation. Surprised, I only had 40, 000 miles on that tires. I took my car to Costco of New Rochelle where the tires balancing and rotation were performed flawless. They asked me why Costco of Yonkers didn't performed the service. I told them They were lazy. Why this happens in Costco of Yonkers NY?
pharmacy
I have had 1 major and 2 minor surgeries in the past 6 months. The 2 doctors gave me 3 pain medicine Rx. Costco will at first refuse to fill them. Costco claims they either have to speak with the doctor on the phone or the doctor filled out the Rx wrong. The doctor did not fill out the Rx wrong. Costco claimed they had to have a procedure code number. So, I just gave up and remained in pain. The next time I had surgery, I made sure the MD put the procedure code on the Rx. Again, Costco refused to fill the Rx. They made me wait a long time despite there being no pharmacy line at the drop off or pick up. Some other guy was getting the same hassle as I was...though, I didn't get his specific details. He wanted one pill for his condition while they were taking a long time to fill his Rx. Again, there was no line.
It seems the only thing worth getting at Costco pharmacy is flu shots. Everything else, I recommend go elsewhere. WHEN PEOPLE OBVIOUSLY HAVE JUST HAD SURGERY, COSTCO TREATS THEM LIKE JUNKIES/CRIMINALS, INSTEAD OF PEOPLE IN PAIN THAT ARE JUST TRYING TO RECOVER FROM SURGERY.
I had the same exact thing happen to me yesterday at my local Costco. They claimed that the physician wrote it wrong. Left amd went to CVS where it was filled with no problem whatsoever. Something is up with Costco pharmacy!
So, then why doesn't Costco just come out and say they want to double check the validity of the prescription because it is a narcotic instead of lying about it?
You can thank the DEA and the federal government for that. With the changes in the law dealing with controlled substances and narcotics, pharmacies are being even more careful when filling these scripts. I can not understand why you would 'give up and be in pain' instead of doing what the pharmacist asked. It is his license and his prison term on the line. You will encounter this with every single pharmacy you go to if you have a control or narcotic.
optical department
I was picking up prescription glasses shortly after the store opened at 10 a.m. There were 4 people in front of me while the one clerk helped a customer. She looked around and asked everyone to form a line, but wouldn't say where the line should be formed. I asked if we could get fast help if we were just picking up glasses, but she said it didn't matter why were there. I waited for about five minutes and then decided to shop around the store for other items and then come back to see if the line had shortened or ended. Upon return a half hour later, the same four people were still standing there (yes, no place to sit) and the clerk was still helping the original customer. I was so irritated and left the store to return later that afternoon when there were fewer customers and two clerks, with the service much faster then. The solutions:
1) When customers arrive and wait, which is typical there, there should either be a designated lineup place or take-a-number available.
2) When a customer needs a lot of help, as this one did, the clerk should have asked her to wait while helping anyone who simply needed to pick up glasses or needed them corrected for fit, etc. Most customers would understand a clerk doing so. Clerks always need to do what keeps the most customer happy.
3) This was the day after the Labor Day weekend and the department should have known a lot of people would be showing up early there to get glasses and for other problems that couldn't be fixed on Monday. They should have ensured they had at least two clerks there that morning and also institute number 1) and 2) above.
tire center
I've always purchased my tires from Costco because of their "package" that includes free rotations with life of tire - but am SO SICK of their lack of help and wait times.
Today - I called and asked if I needed an appointment to get tires rotated. Someone with extremely poor English answered after about 10 rings - said "no, we are not busy at all come on down".
I drove the 15 minutes to Costco - proceeded to wait in line for 20 minutes (most of which time there was NO Costco Employee present or in the center) - when it came my turn I was told it would be at least 2 1/2 hour wait... If this was the first time something like this had happened I might not be typing this right now - but it happens EVERY FREAKIN TIME I TRY TO DEAL WITH THEM!
They need to staff appropriately and communicate appropriately. Once again I wasted an HOUR of my TIME which I do not have to waste! I work full time and have 2 kids and am so frickin tired of the "so sorry ma'am" when I took time away from work because I believed their crap and have NOTHING to show for my hour of effort due to their poor planning and communication.
They have lost a long time customer and I'll just pay Jiffy Lube to rotate so I don't have to deal with Costco Tire Center again!
multigrain crackers
I have always liked your multigrain crackers. The last time we bought them they were completely different. Instead of tasty, "cracker style" they are now more like rice crackers with a completely different taste. I don't like the texture or taste. From now on, I'll buy my crackers elsewhere.
package maui westin
Hello
I purchased a package to Maui several weeks ago. It very clearly stated on the package that it included breakfast for two every morning and $150 dining credit. I am on my vacation now and I am being told that those were never included in my package.
I feel like I got baited and switched.
I specifically purchased this particular package for these extras.
I have always been treated well by Costco, this leaves me with a really bad feeling about the company.
I will never use Costco travel again and I will make sure every one I know hears about my experience. This was a real bummer for our vacation. We are on a tight budget and this puts a big damper on our ability to do the things we wanted to.
You have a very disgruntled customer.
top sirloin lifters
I have always raved about Costco meat as being the best. I have also purchased "whole top sirloins" in the past, but found out from my Oxnard, Ca store that Costco was not handling Top Sirloins anymore, but was now using Top Sirloin Lifters. Trusting Costco, I purchased a cryovac package of the lifters and brought them home and packaged them in "seal a meal". We cook some for the first time and it was like eating a round steak or sirloin tip. Very disappointed in the quality. I now have several pounds of these steaks in my freezer and I don't want to use them.
Why no more "top sirloins"? Why this very poor substitute? The price was still about the same!
The ribs were 99% yucky fat.
Costco is sleazy and dishonest!

patio umbrella
Last year I bought 2, 11 foot patio umbrellas from costco. The wooden pole swells up and you cant open or close it as the slide mechanism sticks solid until the pole dries out.
I dont have my receipt, the umbrellas are useless and now cant be opened.
Can I return these?

racism
I frequently shop and get gas at the Costco in Auburn Hills, MI. As a patron, it is my right to do these things without their employees asking me "Where are you from?" I was born in locally in Michigan and grew up in the area. I'm a United States citizen. When my response is that city in Michigan that I'm from, and then the follow up question is, "No, where are you really from?" I find that even more insulting than the first question. I don't wear the traditional dress of any other country or religion. There's nothing remarkable about my appearance. I can only surmise that I'm being asked to explain that I'm mixed race, which is incredibly inappropriate for any stranger to ask me, let alone when these people have no relationship to me except that they work in a store where I shop. I don't need to explain my race or ethnicity to employees who approach me to ask me this as I get gas or have groceries rung up, and I would really appreciate if you could make it a company policy to have the level of awareness to not pose culturally/racially inappropiate questions to your patrons. This is racism. I have never seen anyone else be asked this question in the 3+ years that I have been shopping there. However, I have been asked this question 3 times by 3 different people in 2016 alone. Nobody appreciates being asked this question as if to imply that they somehow are an outsider or that they're not white enough to have the luxury of not having to explain their race as many times as I have to your employees. Curiosity is when someone ask everyone this question, which I haven't observed. Racism is when it's targeted to people who have a different color complexion than they have.
meats, fish and poultry
We have shopped Costco for many years for all of our meats, etc. As well as other items. I have told everyone in the past how you can't beat their quality of meats and price. We were always extremely satisfied. However, this is no longer the case over the past months. They have either changed their suppliers or I suspect changed their quality. There has been more fat than I have ever seen on their meat products on a consistent basis. I assumed this is because the pricing is per lb. We buy the same products such as lamb chops, tenderloin and sirloin steaks, center cut rib chops, chicken, pork tenderloins, etc, . Thank goodness the salmon and shrimp don't have fat.
First I noticed the lamb chops we bought over a month ago were so full of fat, when I trimmed them there was hardly any meat left. Then the steaks we ate were so riddled with grissle, they were not eatable. Then this week when I got home to separate our meats into individual packaging I noticed the pork chops were also full of fat which is never there in the past. Today was it. We purposefully bought the beef tenderloins this time and I could not believe all the grissile when you turned them over. They hide the fat the way they package them, same with pork chops. I will have to say in the past when we had a problem with any products they are happy to take returns, however, I don't want to have to go their on a consistent basis and wait in that return line!
terrible customer service over price discrepancy
On Wednesday, July 27, 2016, I had an altercation with a supervisor (Latasha) at the Brooklyn Costco. I had already paid for my groceries and upon checking my receipt, I noticed two discrepancies: 1) I was charged twice for my oatmeal; and 2) I was charged $23.99 for the salmon when the price sign says $22.99. I went back to the cashier to let her know and she called Latasha over to authorize a refund for the oatmeal. I also brought to Latasha's attention the price discrepancy for the salmon and she replied rudely, "This is the price set in the system." I got the feeling that she thought I was lying so I suggested that she ask one of her employees to go upstairs and double check the price sign. In response, she said, "No, I won't send anyone upstairs to check. You go and take a photo yourself." Such poor customer service; I ended up taking a photo of the sign myself and showing her before she issued me a refund for the price difference. Honestly, I could've cared less about the $1 difference if it wasn't for Latasha's rude response. I also think it's deceiving for a company as big as Costco's to put out a the price display that doesn't match with the price in the system.
would not issue membership card despite producing photo id
Hi
I know my complaint is trivial but I was really annoyed tonight.
I signed up as a Costco member and they said they wouldn't post it out and I had to pick it up in person. OK, not like the rest of the world, but I could live with it.
Drove 30 minutes and provided two forms of photo ID. Not good enough I'm told. Because we had recently changed addresses I needed to provide paper based proof of my address. Despite speaking to two staff and two managers, they would not provide my membership card. They suggested I should drive home, and find something and drive back. I suggested they should drive out to my house with my Costco membership card and so assure themselves that I lived there but no luck.
Below is my "Rant" to Moorabbin tonight.
What drive me crazy is the insanity of their requirements. ID for membership?
My two forms of 100 point photo id is go enough for the Australian Government and Australian banks, but good enough not Costco?
And even if photo id is not good enough. Why exactly does Costco need proof of my physical address? They didn't require that to receive the membership fee they required in advance.
Were they just having fun at my expense. A fun Costco staff joke. "Oh look. Here comes a new member. lets see if we can make him jump through some silly hoops. Let's have a bet on how much ridiculous bureaucracy we can put on him before he cracks it.
Below is my email to Moorabbin Costco tonight. I don't expect they will respond.
I wish to formally complain about the ridiculous treatment of myself when I went to collect my membership this evening.
I signed up online, and the email said I must collect the membership card in person at Costco.
Despite providing photo ID and identifying my address, the staff and managers refused to issue my membership card for "security reasons" because my photo ID had a different address from our current address. I explained that we had recently moved from Queensland to Victoria. However the staff and two subsequent managers said I had to produce a paper based document proving I lived in Victoria. Who cares where I live? I paid the $55 up front which was accepted by Costco so we had a contract.
100 point ID for my drivers license is OK for the Australian Government and my passport, but not for a grocery store (Costco).
However I became so disgusted with how I was treated that I asked for a refund on my membership fee. No problem they said. I asked if they needed paper based ID but no, they said, they were OK to refund my credit card.
Absolutely ridiculous and If I wasn't so annoyed that I drove 30 minutes each way to pick up a membership card that Costco said I had to pick up in person, then I wouldn't need to vent my frustration in this email.
You guys must be on drugs.
I can do my tax online. I can borrow money online. I can get gas and electricity, and internet connected online, but you would not post my membership to me, and would not accept two forms of photo ID.
Go figure.
I am really annoyed, and mostly because of the irrational and non sensical reasons provided to not give me a "Mickey Mouse" grocery shop membership card. I can get a membership card at a coffee shop simply by buying a coffee. No paper based address identification or photo ID required. Curios, they seem to think I am the customer. Costco could take lessons on who they are serving.
I can't wait to hear how Costo senior management rationalises my treatment.
The least I could expect is an apology and free coffin at my funeral which no doubt will be years early due to the stress of tonight (Joke guys).
So... over to you. What is your excuse?
I look forward to hearing from "A Current Affair" and similar media outlets when I provide a copy of this angry email to them. Grist for their mills.

kirkland signature environmentally responsible premium liquid dish soap
There is absolutely nothing environmentally responsible about this soap. the ingredients are as follows: sodium lauryl sulfate, water, lauramine oxide, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium xylenesulfonate, denatured alcohol, fragrance, benzisothiazolinone, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, and citric acid. for starters, sulfates have been phased out of many products in recent years due to their potential for skin irritation and endocrine disruption. it's absurd that anything these days still contains sulfates, but it's insane that a soap claiming to be environmentally friendly would contain them. benzisothiazolinone received a 6-7 from the environmental working group, an independent research organization that scores products based upon their potential hazards. the best score is a 0 and the worst is a 10. for all intents and purposes, benzisothiazolinone is therefore considerably dangerous. europe's scientific committee on consumer safety has banned this compound for use in cosmetics. moreover, the eu and the united states' own epa have labeled benzisothiazolinone as toxic to wildlife and the environment. methylchloroisothiazolinone is also restricted for use in cosmetics by europe's scientific committee on consumer safety, as well japan. it received a score of 6 from the environmental working group. there is a strong evidence that this chemical is a human skin toxicant or allergen from multiple studies. additionally, wildlife and environmental toxicity is listed as an effect of the use of methylchloroisothiazolinone. similarly, methylisothiazolinone received a score of 7 from the environmental working group. according to the ewg, "methylisothiazolinone... has been associated with allergic reactions. lab studies on the brain cells of mammals also suggest that methylisothiazolinone may be neurotoxic." methylisothiazolinone is banned for use in cosmetics by the eu and germany, and restricted for use in cosmetics by canada and japan. once again, it is considered to be toxic to wildlife and the environment. save your health and the health of the world and pick up some dr. bronner's castile soap instead. shame on you, costco.
