Reference/call out: [protected] - Louw. We have been experiencing problems with this unit for about one year. The freezing compartment does not freeze properly and the red light at the top flickers all the time. There have been various technicians to attend to the problem and they have replaced everything from the control panel to the freezing elements, and everything in between but the problem still exists. Approximately 6 weeks ago, two technicians came out again and this time they said that the unit needs a new freezing element. The problem, according to them, is that there is no stock available and they had to order one. It is now 6 weeks later and we have not heard from them again. I stated corresponding with Defy customer service via e-mail on 17 November and apart from acknowledging the complaint, I have not heard from them again and subsequent e-mails remain unanswered.
The other problem I have is that the freezer side needs new basket rails. The plastic rails that it came from have just about all broken through the years but apparently there is no stock of the rails either. We bought a Defy unit because of its reputation of always being able to supply spare parts so this comes a quite a surprise.
I have had to throw away quite a lot of food that was in the freezer because it is not keeping frozen food properly frozen so I need someone to urgently investigate and advise.
