bad food, bad service
As we were on our way to California, we stopped in to have some supper. As we walked in I could tell it was a bad idea. No one was there to seat us, so we seated ourselves. We sta there for 10 min no one ever came to our table. I got up and got us some menu's. Another 10 mins waiting for someone to come and take our order. A total of 20 min sitting there!...

I visited Denny's Restaurant on White Lane in Bakersfield, CA. I ordered a dish that was a Tortilla with hamburger and cheese on it. When it came the hamburger was black as if it had been saved for sometime and not eatable. I returned it to the server and told her I wanted something else and she made sure she took off the price of the first order and charged me for the second. I don't know what your customer relations are but most of the time the meal should have been free. I also have a relative who frequents this same store and he said it is terrible food any more. I suggest you look into it.

terrible service
I visited Denny's around 7:30pm, by 8:20 our food had not arrived yet. (1 burger, 1 grilled cheese, 1 chicken taco) The tables around us seemed to be getting their meals no problem. At no point after recieving our drinks did the waitress come to the table to check on us or apologize to us for the wait. The restaurant was not very busy to excuse that. I...

i worked at dennys for one week, i couldnt beleave how dirty the place was. the kitchen, diningroom, bathroom. everywhere you look, there was old food n dirt piled up, the fridges always leaking, and nobody does anything about it, instead of the employees cleaning the place up, well every 10 min the cooks out having a smoke, then us servers had to go and look for the cooks to start cooking the orders. then theres the managers, ive met maybe 4 of them, one time i was looking for one of the male managers because i needed beer, and i found him outside kissing a young girl ythat was just in the restaruant. i think that thr health department should go in there to check the place out and get new staff in there. ones that want to work, when i worked there in just that one week, i was the only one that ever picked up a rag and wiped down seats, shelves, etc. i was aproached a number of times to put my cloth down n just sit and relax, i also overheard one of the managers tell other employee if the meat expires, dont wory about, just change the date on the packageing, and they dealing with chicken here and all kinds of meats, somebody is going to get really sick, if havent already but not reported it. ithe week i worked there for, i never ate one thing, nothing good, even when the plates comes out to be served, ive saw them stay in window for at least 10 min while co workers are talking and then customers get cold foof and then they complain, . gets alot of complaints on ghow the food was coming out of kitchen but nothing was ever done about it, i think there is a serious issue here, thank you
i have contacted health department. just warning the public what its like there. google dennys and read thr comments
you took off the breaded fish off the menu and put on tilapia which people do not like
Love your new $2, $4, $6 and $8 and I loved the $2 burger as I had gastric bypass surgery and only have a 2 ounce stomach [where as a typical person has a 48 ounce stomach] and you took it off the menu. You took off the breaded fish off the menu and put on Tilapia which people dont like. Your breakfasts are delicious and I always get the $2 bisquit and gravy with an egg but you need to expand your dinner menu. You even took the baked potato off the menu. Add a nice hot dog sandwich, pork chop dinner, and more low calorie meals.
OMG, you had gastric bypass surgery and you want Denny's to add hotdogs, porkchops and fried fish to their menu?! Here's an idea for you next surgery - LOBOTOMY!

I went into our local Dennys and was asked by the manager upon entering " if I was the Gay Guy " I said "excuse me". She said" oh nevermind go have a seat".After I sat down the managr ( Crystal Adkin ) came to my table and said in a very loud voice" Aren't you the Gay guy I kicked out 3 weeks ago".I was SHOCKED.I assured her I was not.She shook her head and...

My friend and daughter and myself, went into denny's in ct. Now because I have seizures I wear a medical id tag and have a service animal and he was wearing the required id. I also carry the state laws which agree with the ada laws which I also carry with me at all times. Now the manager at denny's not only would not look at the laws. He threw us out. This was also my daughters b-day and were we there to celebrate it. Now this dog is not a big dog. It is not a german sherpard, golden retervier or dogs you would expect to see as a service animal. He is a small dog and weighs about 12 pounds. He is there doing me a service he is there because he warns me of on coming seizures and has been on the money 100%. If I was by myself without my dog I would not know and would not be able to alert someone what would be going on.
I think all business need to be updated on the laws concerning service animals and that if they do not abide by them that the police can step in. Oh and yes I did talk to police and I was told that they could not make them service me, because this was a privately owned company. Well if this is a privately owned company then police should not support privately owned companies when they get robbed and let these companies take care of investigating themselves with they get rob or have problems. And not expect the police to get involved. I have taken my dog to the emergency room with me, doctors offices with, blood drawing stations with me so if all these places allow this animal into their office without questioning me then why do I get so much problems with business. By the way I was in walmart and for the longest time I had a problem with walmart and when I finally took it the manager and was walking out the door with the manager behind me and kids at the approximate ages of 6 and 7 said to their mother, hey mom that's a service dog and that we were taught in school we can't approach him because he is working. That made me stop and talk to the children and explain to them what my condition was and what he actually did for me. Talk about egg on that managers face. If children know what a service animal is and can identify them then why can't adults. And I have more children that can identify him as a service animal then adults and I spend more time educationing children in stores and their parents. Because talking to store owners and resturants owners it goes on deaf ears. So maybe writing an article on here might get the word out and help other people with the same problem. And the next time I am refused service I am going to start taking action until I am heard loud and clear. This is my first step. I am tired of not being able to leave my house without being with an adult who knows me. I would like to be able to do things on my own with my dog at myside. And to be fair to resturants I don't mind being seated away from everyone I actually perfer it.

First of all I did not reply for you.Other people read these complaints everyday. This is where they get information, and do research, and by reading all the comments, people become informed. Sorry you are such a bitter person, you have no reason to be so nasty, but you are a poster child for Women's right to chose. You don't know me, or anything about me, so what is your problem beside being dis-honest, and telling untruths about a company. You must be from New York.
You must be very lonely to go around looking for posts that are three years old. Even I forgot about this until I got a reply that said that someone replied to my post. Why should I have to put a sign on the dog. I had all the paper work and even children as young as six or seven know about service dogs from school. Apparently you do not know how to read because I clearly stated that it was an obvious service dog. You must be one of these adults who are not as bright as these children. Get the media involved. I don't like bring public attention to myself. You may like it but I don't.
Anyways I was not being honest about the real reason I was kicked out. The real reason I was kicked out of the restaurant was because my daughter was misbehaving and I was swearing at her. Not because of my service dog. I only used that as an excuse. Also dummy where did I say that the problem with the Walmart was to do with my service dog. It was with the way disciplined my daughter for misbehaving.
Next time this happens, get the Media involved. Companies hate negative press. My uncle is blind (diabetic), and has a service dog, you should get a jacket made that has "service dog working" on it. Oh! and have it put in two languages, English, and Spanish our second language.
lack of service/poor service
my husband, brother in law and I went for brunch at the Denny's on Pacific avenue in Everett today... the server showed a definite lack of talent when it came to service... We had to wait for sevice, ask for coffee, and then wait for our brunch... it came, cold.. half the order was not there.. the jam/muffins. and cream for the coffee was not on the table and we had to wait for it to be brought long after the entree was served..
I had to flag her down in order to get a refill of coffee which had not been offered..truly one of the least appetizing meals we have endured, and very poor service... ... there were two other tables of two people each seated, perhaps that was too much for the poor girl .

evil, law-breaking hypocrites
Well, while the previous post was a bit harsh, I think that automatically shunning all of the denny's is a little messed up. The one around where i'm at is wonderful, while one in the town where I attended school a year ago was... Well, not that great. The point is that you can't tell people that all denny's are toxic. It depends on who runs it and what kind of city you're in (More specifically, what kind of people work at the health department responsible for keeping tabs).

Going over your managers head makes them mad and they will fire you, as my store manager has done. but I did hire a lawyer. good luck to you

disrespectful manager
The indian manager at dennys was so disrespectful to me and my children, we go there all the time and never had a problem untill they hired her. My children were talking quietly with my mother who is 86 years old and she came over and yelled at them in front of everybody in the restaurant. They werent even load. After that she constantly stared at our table and gave us nasty looks. Also she was nasty to the waitresses and they didnt seem to be doing anything wrong. She should leave her problems at home and stop bringing her attitude with her to work to take out on other people. My family and I will not be returning to that restuarant untill we know she no longer works there, she should value her job being jobs are scarce at the moment and learn to treat others with respect. I believe her name is mona

food was horrible
Denny's advertises breakfast 24/7. Well, that was NOT the case this passed weekend. We wanted to have breakfast about 11:30am this passed Saturday in Glens Falls, NY. The waitress told us they ran out of hash browns when we placed our order and asked us if breakfast potatoes would be alright. We said breakfast potatoes would be fine. Then, after a very long wait, our food finally came out. However, the waitress said they also ran out of the potatoes and therefore, substituted with terrible, greasy french fries. We never had such a horrible breakfast. The bacon and sausage links were under cooked too, so, we couldn't even finish our food. It completely turned our stomachs.

customer service cold food
We got our food, it was cold, the waitress was rude and when my friend amanda got up to pay a host named heidi liturally threw her money at her and swore at her. so she had to pick her money off the floor. I had nothing to with this and i was rudely told by, i think the manager that i was no longer welcome at Denny's even though I had done nothing wrong. The worst part about it is I complained to Jim the Manager the next day who promised to look into the issue, , he never got back to me, they were closed for remodeling, so i called back when they reopened and proceeded to be blown off by Tim Finley another manager. I am outraged and I will complain about this untill i get some compansation, , possibly sue for harassment.in addition to that the order of fries my friend amanda ordered not were cold but it was barely half an order.

I doubt you will ever get compensation so you should probably just let it go and don't eat out ever again.
this is bull****
there is no way
1. someone treated you like this
2. if you simply said "excuse me this is cold" they would not have acted like this
you have got to have done something to provoce this
and btw
not every white person is rasist
sometimes...you're just annoying to wait on
Its an epidemic. I was severely racially harrassment by a Hispanic waitress who hated whites and African-Americans. It was witnessed, she pretty much admitted it was as I said it was and they put her right back to work on tables. I complained to manager politely the next day and when we met the assistant night manger, Mr Johnsn he was rude and condescending. Our table was pretty much ignored after that and he even said he would retailiate for us making a complaint to the general manager. After an hour we are loiterers. In spite of the fact we all order grand slam breakfasts. We are no smucks. None of us our drunkards.
Denny's corporate did their own in house investigation and just blew us off. They have be exposed. Feel free to email me. This sounds a lot like my own experience I had at the Rockford, IL Sandy Hollow Denny's on August 13, 2009.

On 6/19/09 at 8:00am I entered this Denny's by the airport in Jacksonville. We were sat in waitress Terry's section. She seemed upset that we were sat in her section. My wife and I are African American. Terry did not greet us but made a point of walking to the person who sat us to let her know it was not her turn to take a table. After about 7 minutes, we...

The dennys in our area never have french dressing for their salads! why?
Maybe some other person likes it more than you...
Ugh -_- way to many things to say about this horrible post..
No effin' way! Is this the story of how Jigga became a daddy?!
Go Philly! Read my comment about Craig's money.
You should have taken your family and followed her into the room. Maybe then you would have a legitimate complaint to post on this website. Then again maybe you would be the subject of her complaint.
You are a dumbazz! Maybe the waitress has a job there at the hotel! Maybe she lives there! Oh, I know, maybe its none of your freakin' business!
You're a nosey little effer aren't you? What is your complaint; the waitress had sex after her shift?
Mind your business; it's not like she was "fornicating" IN Denny's. This may come as a shock to you, but other people DO have sex ya know. Don't be such a prude.
Well, maybe she was really horny.

Here is a letter I sent to both the store manager and submitted via the Denny's main website.
No response whatsoever. Nothing, nada, zip...
I guess they just don't care about one persons business.
Jason Fulton DM

Bartow, Fl.
I had returned from an extended overseas business trip yesterday. Unable to sleep at 4am, I decided to go to the Denny’s in Bartow, Fl. for breakfast, a cup of coffee, and spend a little time to catch up with the local newspaper.
I arrived shortly after 4am. There was a group of about six folks in their early 20’s seated next to the entrance. The gentleman that seated me, (server 00374/Curtis) placed me one table away from the group. There were two other adults my age, mid 50’s, two tables away. There were no other patrons at this time.
Curtis immediately took my order and went to the kitchen. It took me about seven seconds to realize I didn’t need to be seated next to this group who was obviously intoxicated. The language encompassed all the commonly recognized reproductive organs, the kicking of others ###, and fashion comments concerning the attire of one young female person who was seated in the group. (I believe her first name was ‘###’ and/or ‘dumb cuxx’)
The server found me at my newly self-seated location opposite of the crowd, who was still quite loud. The server apologized for the crowd being loud. I told him I don’t mind them being loud and having fun, it was just some very inappropriate breakfast conversation that I needed to get away from.
My meal had arrived, and so had two new patrons, gentlemen in their 30’s. They immediately recognized the obnoxious group and self seated on the opposite side of the restaurant. Four other men had also arrived two minutes later, same age group. They appeared to be stopping for breakfast before a Sunday morning fishing event. They too immediately recognized the intoxicated group, ignored the directions of the waiter, and self-seated on the opposite side of the restaurant.
The breakfast was too disturbing to be enjoyed. (Check # 4112 Tbl# 21 G: 1 04/05/09 4:34AM) I was unable to read the paper while I cringed at the loud outbursts of foul language. One member of your service staff, a young lady with brunette hair, (name unknown) was more than polite and pleasant to the group. She routinely engaged them verbally and was quite aware of their behavior.
My problem is this:
You can not have it both ways with your customers. You will cater either to the drunks, or to the reasonable adults. The couple in front of me left early. As they departed, the waiter dropped my bill on my table. I was never offered a coffee refill, which was okay. I had no intention of staying any longer as the atmosphere was simply too uncomfortable. The service staff was aware of the social conflict. The newly arrived men had mentioned it to the staff as well.
Your staff had decided to continue service to the rude intoxicated group. It was a choice on behalf of your restaurant. It would appear that your place of business places value on this class of service and patronage. My patronage is obviously of lesser value, and not sought after as evidenced by these decisions.
To the best of my knowledge, refusing service to rude, obnoxious, and vulgar drunks, is not actionable within the confines of any discrimination definitions for restaurant service.
It is therefore, your choice.
Whereas I, the customer, also have a choice.
Regards,
Larry Annen

I want personally thank the El Paso, Texas Dennys Restaurant located at Montwo0d and George Dieter. Them opening during the frigid storm and power outage was most spectacular; with greatest service possible. Norma (Manaager) along with Jesus (Great), Linda (Super), and all together, provided the best service under the condition. They were overwhelmed with large numbers coming in to get just a hot cup of coffee, and/or foods. I only know, they will receive some complaints. a word of gratitude and thanks should also be received by their District Manager. Great job everyone.
I have been going to the same Dennys in El Paso, TX, on corner of Montwood and George Dieter for many years. In all my years, I have never seen so much bickering, backstabbing, bias, nepotism, and unfriendly remarks in all this time. It gets to the point where even the customers as I that have been going there are not received friendly, and are given unfriendly treatment in some type of response. I must say that still, there are a very small handfull that still present friendly and professional service for the rest...
I am a dennys late night server. I work in Orlando an# been doing late night for em two years. You have to understand for late night that's where we make our Money on late night. It's because of those drunks is what keeps it open 24 hrs. And its better for them to be here sobering up then on the road. But if dennys kicked em out for being drunk then there would be. No money. Yea they should watch there mouth though I do agree
Hmmm, would I rather lose one customer or six?
True, Bretsky, but it still would have to be annoying and that kind of behavior isn't necessary.
wow, who would have ever thought that a bunch of drunks would be at denny's at 4am?
poor serivece, dirty dishes and racism
First of all, our waiter was not friendly. He was condescending. He did not greet us with a friendly hello. He just sat us down at the table.
For the first time at a Denny's I had to ask for a child's menu for my 8 year old son. Not long after two more parties came in consisting of all whites. He was very very friendly. One group sat behind us. They did not have to ask for a child's menu for their daughter. Then my son noticed this little girl had one of their color sheets and crayons. I had to ask for a sheet and crayons for my son too. Before some other racist get on here with the excuses, I'll give one out 1). Maybe it was an overisight, he didn't do it intentionally... Yeah, right!
At any rate, the dishes were dirty also.
This post is not for anybody to play Devil's Advocate and debate. This post is for those who like a clean and pleasant dining experience, DO NOT eat at the Denny's in Palm Coast!

What's a "White"?
Why do you people always have to play the race card?
no help from them!
I'm really upset now that Denney's would not even help pay to replace teeth (cost of over $5000.00) but now can give out "free breakfast day"! Their bathroom floor was wet and son slipped. Had to replace front teeth. Tried to contact Madera branch and only got hope he feels better. What would have happened if he didn't go to the hospital himself, would I also have to pay for the ambulance? I'm sure the free breakfasts were a whole lot more than a few teeth. I'll be paying for years because of them!

I ate 2 grand slam breakfasts at denny's and crapped my pants on the drive home. It was very oily and it cost me 400 dollars to get my car seat detailed to remove the stain! I contacted the denny's branch office and they still have not returned my call. I will never get my money back for the detailing or the fresh pair of slacks I had to buy as replacement.
Its not funny, but I know how you feel literally. I ate at Denny's on Friday night. I wanted to pull on the side of the road driving down the freeway because my stomach was crapping up so much. I ate one pancake and a little hash browns. Within 30 minutes of eating, I almost had an accident in my pants. Massive diarrhea. I had it from Friday night until Sunday morning. Never eating there again! I think its dirty oil and a dirty kitchen and of course bad food.
Went out for dinner after the movies with my boyfriend. I ordered the Charleston chicken and he got a chicken philly cheese steak Not even an hour later our stomachs started rumbling, thank goodness we live close by. We both had explosive diarrhea the whole night and next morning. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN.
The worst pot roast worst ever full of fat. Was it beef or some other poor critter who was road kill. For $11.69 I expected better tan this! Run do not walk away from here, asked for manger none there. Way too much money for horrible food, stay far away!
I just got Diarrea with a salad yesterday...and everytime I go to a Dennys no mater in which city I get my stomach destroyed! That is it...only Ihop from now and on.
They need an up date from McDonalds!
Really bad foo!
I agree with this person. This is legit. No matter which Dennys location I go to it makes you sick. I think its because they store their food at the highest temperature possible. The recommended temperature is 40 degrees. A lot of businesses with cheap food do that. I stopped eating there. Its a shame. I loved the place as a kid.
Hahahah! 400$ your a lier! Your the reason why the world is going down the pooper. TWO full meals?!? Your unbelievable. Sounds like you don't take care of your health, quit playing, we know your 90' Honda Civic seats were already messed up.
The car is not even worth 400$.
Loser.
I would not clean a [censored] stain not even for 1000...that means that you would you do it for less than 400?
eggs wont do that. its grease that does it. the eggs will be either good or rotten. and you would know if they are rotten.
We both had the french toast meal, which isn't alot of food. It comes with one french toast, hash browns, 2 eggs and 2 links of sausage. We are both healthy, lean, clean people. I think it is the eggs. Maybe they order in bulk and do not properly refridgerate. Either that or they are old.

I really have to disagree that it's standard practice to make the entire meal (the bad one and the replacement) free. You essentially received two meals, one that was determined to be bad by you, and the business gave you that one for free. You received a second meal which I am guessing was okay, and it's typical that you had to pay for that one. Usually the only time they comp both meals is when something about the first meal poses a health risk (hair in the food, too raw) or other circumanstances (big mess up by waiter).
But it is a Denny's. The reason why it is so cheap is because they do not have gourmet food.
