terrible service!
Today was the worst experience I have ever had at a Denny's Restaurant before! When I came in the GM was taking a smoke break in the front right next to the door & followed us in only to begin yelling at the employees to take our orders. Every employee was new with exception to only a couple & boy did they seem stressed. He took our order, and had an...

RACIST/NEGLIGENT/INCOMPETENT COMPANIES LIKE: Denny's Restaurant in Augusta, GA | 3026 Washington Rd: One of the worst Restaurants to go to for quality Customer Service, the food is sometimes good, but the waitresses/managers are lazy, rude, and are often poorly trained for the food service. Waiting to be seated at a table could take hours, when the restaurant isn't crowded! Due to constantly losing customers, because of bad service & being verbally abusive, and serving food extremely late. DENNY's routinely changes restaurant managers, like women change dress shoes! There is a solid level of business professionalism, and this Denny's is a disgrace to the Restaurant business!

really bad service
I've been going to this Dennys for about 13 years now because it's down the street from where I live. and every year it seems to get progressively worse in terms of both service and the over all professionalism of it's employees. They go through Managers like crazy. and they enjoy bad-mouthing their felloow employees or talking about the problems in their...

seventh complaint
Everytime I go nothing is right. I have to ask for certain stuff that should be automatically included in my order, my order is hardly ever right, the staff are trashy and rude, etc. This has been my experience at almost every Sonic I have ever gone too, so I can't pinpoint any exact location. I do not know why Sonic is so successful?
I also don't know why this site wants at least a hundred words? I can sum up many of my complaints with just a few, especially places that will never see my business ever again!
They are lucky my husband did not work at home office or they would all be fired.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
So...are you complaining about Denny's or are you complaining about Sonic?...
You mean like all the people who piss you off at Walmart have gotten fired?
As opposed to spewing hateful comments, I would like to know what went wrong at Denny's. What should be brought to the table. An example of trashy and rude behavior. Details make a good complaint
we had the worst breakfast at the denny's in perinton ny
We had the worst breakfast at the Denny’s in Perinton NY (Route 31). The eggs were half done, The biscuit was a soggy mess, the pancakes tasted like they had been sitting on the floor, and the coffee was more water and grounds than taste. So we sit through the meal, and we really should have complained- nut our waitress was very yound and not very good. We felt bad for her, she looked terrified to check in with us after serving what surely was not food.
Both my wife and son had stomache aches right after eating. At the end of the meal my wife went to take a sip of my water and I quickly gestured NO! Because during the meal, when I took a sip it tasted as if it had come directly from a urinal. This is an almost new Denny’s (no more than 6-7 months). Terrible meal, but hey you get what you pay for. We have been there 2 other times and the staff is more interested in taking smoke breaks and flirting with each other in the parking lot than checking to see if the food has been properly cooked.
EW. Never going back, there are much better places for a few dollars more. The thing that we noticed most was that the food came out rocket fast, and it was obvious that there was NO WAY you could make that food that fast. It was all under-cooked and barely warm. They dropped it off and ran away until it was obvious we were done and wanted to go. We paid for the food, but could not leave a decent tip- which is something that we hate to do at any restaurant.
My wife an i was on our way home when we stop at a Dennys Rest. We order her creamer was bad got another one its was ok.Then we order our food I got a San Fe Omlette the WORST EVER I HAD .The cook was a OLD MAN, The place look unclean in and out an RESTROOM -MENS was DIRTY also.
My workshop is cleaner then this place is. After i got home about hafe hour later got sick an had the RUNS BIG TIME My wife ask whats was going on i told her the food made me sick Guess what WE Will Not Be Back.
Oh Yes we ate ate at FLYING J TRUCK STOP tha was on Wed- AUG .22, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.Beverdam, OHIO. FLYING J HAS LOST A MY SURPORT ON ANYTHING .
Just came home frome Dennys in Pasadena Texas located on spencer Hiway . Milissa was the manager Larisa was the server. Larisa is a slow server that needs to make way too many trips to and from the table . This is a very simple job GIVE THE CUSTOMER WHAT THEY WANT in a timly manor as they order. well anyway the food came out at different times for each item . We ran out of drinks and had to request more. My food came out cold and when i recieved milk with my order this was the final straw, the milk had spoiled or was near spoiled . I could not eat any longer so I was finished. I piled food and plates and slid it out of my way .
10 minutes later when Larisa dicided to check on us I voiced my complint and requested she remove my food from the bill. When the manager came over she just bluted out WHO HAD THE xxxxxxxxx . Which was removed from the ticket, I belivethis lady is brain dead but noone has told her about it, she did not offer any apology or offer to replace the food with something else. Very poor customer service very poor food presentation, I paid for my dates food but did not leave a tip. Here is deffinition of tip TO INSURE PROPER SERVICE IT IS A SIMPLE JOB …
terrible service; terrible food
There were 8 of us who went to Denny's yesterday. The restaurant was quiet at the time. We waited 45 minutes for our food - and it arrived cold. We complained and the manager (through the server) said he would take off 10%. She came back a few minutes later and said we could have 20% off. Half of the food was left on the plates. It was so upsetting - my daughter and daughter-in-law couldn't eat any of it. The manager never approached us. We usually enjoy going to Denny's up north - but this was a total disgusting time.

It's nice that you got to spend time with your family! Thank the lord that you still have them in your life :) Times like that should be cherished.
They gave you 20% off! What else do you want?
abuse
I was at dennys on rt 16 for dinner. I was approached by a man his name tag said mark (Manager). He continuously was sexually abusing me whether just joking or not he said that he would give me is banana if I wanted it was a very big banana. I should not have been talked to like that. I had my 6 yr old with me and he asked me what that man meant by giving me his banana. This was very inapropriate and embarassing.
i was at dennys on rt 16 in st augustine and the manager mark was so rude and obscene i wanted to hit him. he was abusive and downright nasty how can this place have anyone like him working for them
lack of customer service
We are Placerville residents who on occasion eat at Dennys. We know the waitresses and have always been pleased with the food and service.
Today after our breakfast I went to pay with my debit card and the clerk said it would not accept my card. She tried a couple of times and was getting a message that read exactly as follows: This transaction was NOT approved! Global String Error: The server name or address could not be resolved(httpSendRequest)
I told her there was plenty of money in the account and I would gladly write a check for the $21.75. At that point, she asked if I could use another credit card and they do not accept checks. My reply was I do not use credit cards for food and it is obvious they are having computor problems so I am more than willing to pay with a check. She said there computor is up and running and it is my bank having the problem. She then said why don't you go and get the cash and come back and pay me. My response was, " Why should I the customer be inconvienced, because they are having computor problems" At that point my husband paid the bill in cash.
I then went to my bank, they tested my card, gave me my balance and confirmed the problem is with the computer at Dennys.
I want back to Dennys, asked for the manager and Teresa said she was the manager and they have a no checks policy, which I understand but when their equipment is not working, and exception should be made. She then said, " Well, after you left another man came to the counter and paid with a card from the same bank that would not accept yours. It seemed she was implying that perhaps I had insufficient funds, which was not the case. I then told her we will never come back to Dennys and I will make sure people know about the LACK of customer service at this restaurant.
I was taken into the office with the door closed and tolded by the G.M. that I needed to learn to become submissive, I was offended by this comment and believe he was out of line.
No offense, but it sounds like you lack common sense and just enjoy being a nuisance and causing trouble. Your husband had cash. You should have just paid with cash right away instead of making a scene and demanding they take a check when their policy says no checks. There is a reason most places don't take checks anymore. Too many checks bounce.
The restaurant RECEIVED an error code. They could not get payment. They should ask for another form of payment. They did.
They received an error on your card but not on the guy after you. Doesn't sound like it is their system.
Your bank was open to check your card. On a Saturday. Everything checked out with them AFTER you left Denny's. Who is to say whatever problem was now resolved, instead of blaming Denny's. Funny, on this site most people blame the banks, but it seems that it was a he said she said, and it was convenient not to blame the bank this time. That point is not important.
They don't take checks. Ellen had a good point because if they cannot accept them, how are they going to process it. And the manager shouldn't lose her job over taking a check from you. But I am pretty sure that you don't care about that. From the way you are complaining.
And why would you offer to pay by check and almost demand it, when your husband has cash?
You spoke about being inconvenienced, yet instead of paying cash and checking with your bank later, you made a fuss about a check, drove to your bank, drove back to Denny's to accomplish I don't know what.
Like Paul said, where was the lack of customer service? Sounded like a lack of a paying customer.
And chill out: she didn't accuse you of having no money in your account. If you felt that way, the easiest to end that was to pay the cash, not demand they take a check against policy.
poor service
My mother and I visit Dennys about once a month but it will never happen again. I order a hamburger and when it arrived the burger was in about 5 pieces and they just piled it on the bun when I asked if this is how they serve it they said it didn't look that bad. I sent it back when they came with the send on and the waitress left I heard the cook in the kitchen say it a very unpleansant voice "did she like it now" I have ad poor serice before but gave them another chance I have even eaten at the onther Denny's in the area and they waitress are just as rude. Dennys needs to get better help.

rude to war veterans on veteran day
My husband was in the military. He risked his life so that you can work at Denny's. They have free grand slam meals at Denny's for veterans. My husband usually does not order the grand slam meal but since it was for free he got this. I told them that this is not what he normally orders and he should get this for free and they said only the meals listed are for free. My husband said it was no big deal he will just get what was for free. I told him to shut up because I was not done talking to the waitress.(Yeah the waitress refusing to give in made me that angry that I told a war vet to shut up on Veteran's Day.
We both ordered the grand slam meals. I was charged for mine. I complained about this and the waitress said that since I was not in the military I do not get a free meal. This free meal should cover their spouses friends, and children as well in my opinion and they don't care about war vets if they don't honor the meal that they normally order. They don't care about vets if they don't allow their wives to eat for free. I risked my life for you guys and this is how I am repaid. Get out of my country.
That term is not racist you little piece of ### how is that for rude Piece of ###. Neither terms are You don't know nothing you are only ten years old. Also it is spelled infantry you idiot. Because of the NAACO(or whatever the coon's organization is) blacks aka ###s not racism are not sent to the front to die because they changed laws.
A coon is a black person you ###, you know a ###.
Also when you are married your husband's property becomes yours so it is too my country to be married to a vet.
When I risk my life so people can have freedom. When I fight for my country (or my husband) I can call USA my country more than those people who do not fight for the united states. Also you really that the president owns the country. He does not and if that coon (in world war 2 coons they were sent to the front line to die which is how it should be today. does something wrong he can be impeached. You must be like 12 to believe that.
Well then stay in Canada. Don't move to my country. Don't vacation in my country. Don't enter my country.
Well I am the one that would have been widowed if he had died. Leave my country first born triplet. If you cannot respect a two time war vet than leave my country.
To all you who replied. I risked my life so that you can post freely and voice your opinions. Seriously leave my country.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Well just cos you say you were one doent mean you are one cos you have to prove it by showing some paperwork. If that wasnt the case anybody could get free meals.
The service was very bad they take to along to servive the drinks meals.
Well if this is real, i cant believe veteran hubby hasn't left her arrogant ### yet
From the sound of your post, it seems you were the rude one. As other people have pointed out here, your husband was the one in the military, not you. If the ad was for military personnel, and you are not one, then you have to pay.
Seems like you are just trying to get something for free that you dont deserve.
And if the waitstaff copped an attitude, it was because of your nasty attitude apparently.
my neigbor is in the military, I suppose that means me and my entire street deserves a free meal at Dennys
It's amazing to me that in this economy people feel that they deserve free anything... Denny's is providing a service and the food they prepare and serve is not free to them, ... I bet you didnt tip your server either.
I wouldn't consider that "bad." It's called "there's other people than myself here so I should be considerate." Oh, and learn the English language before you attempt to utilize it. There's one (run-on) sentence and you still manage to butcher it. Hopefully you know that it's not against the law to proofread...
food service/cleanliness
The wife, daughter and I were traveling down to San Diego from Chowchilla and stopped in at Denny's for breakfast. We had to wait to be seated in a restaurant that had only five other customers. Once seated we ordered water and had to wait 5 min. once the server came to take our order we waited another 30 min. I had to ask the duty manager (Lynn) how much...
Read full review of Denny's and 1 commentpoor management - unacceptable behavior
I was employed by Denny's on April 10th, 2010. On this day of May 2nd, 2010 I went into work (as usual)and experienced poor judgement and unacceptable behavior from the manager on duty. First of all, I am a dishwasher, but bust tables and perform specific duties requested by the manager. As far as my complaint- I was approached by a server in regards to busting tables. This particular server built up an attitude with me over a three-dollar tip. I over-heard this server and a co-working server communicating about busting tables and receiving tips when I jokingly stated, " If you don't want it, I'll take it." The server then stated (sarcastically), "I'm tired of hearing you whine, Take It!" She tossed the three dollars on the table. I took the money and continued doing my job. The next day (to get back) she approached me (snobbishly) with a small pan of dishes in-which she could have sat down for me to wash. Instead she brought me the pan of dishes obnoxiously with an attitude (from the day before). She reported this petty incident to the manager and we both were pulled into the office to speak with the manager on duty. Without any interuptions- the complaining server was able to express her complaint. I, on the other hand was told I was "raising" my voice (when I wasn't) and to "shut-up and listen" . The manager became disrespectful and showed NO interest with hearing my side of the story. I was told to clock out because I was Fired instantly! As I walked out I muttered to myself- "This isn't fair, I can't believe this", she yelled from her office door- "SHUT THE f*** UP!" I then turned around back at her and repeated what she had said to me first. She caused me embarassment to my co-workers, emotional distress, and my job due to her lack of properly handling an employee issue. I felt she should have discussed this matter only between her( the manager), the server and I- Behind Closed Doors where I could have walked off respectively! As an employee, I should feel free to raise an issue of concern without FEAR OF RIPRISAL! The Denny's handbook (chapter 5) speaks of the truth by stating- "We believe Jomar aptly demonstrates its commitment to employees by responding effectively to employee concerns." Also it states, "open communication is essential to a successful work environment and ALL employees should fill free to raise issues of concern."
Hi I'm an employee at Denny's in Modesto California my boss is unprofessional she favoritism a lot and I am a dishwasher and she tells me that I have to bust tables but I believe a dishwasher job is to do dishes clean bathrooms do lobby area take out trash in stock the areas with clean dishes pots and pans and utensils for the guest in the cook to use for guests basically sanitation and replacing dishes plates cups not to bust tables without a tip she tells me I have to bust tables and I need to learn from another dishwasher which never do her job and so one day the manager assistant told me when I clocked in that I had to bus tables with another team member at the job it was a very busy day tables was all dirty so I did and then she told me I had to do the takeouts for delivery I did and then I went back to washing my dishes but then she told the other manager that I didn't clean the bathroom which I didn't because there was a lot of task that she made me do that I wasn't supposed to do as a dishwasher and I didn't know how to do none of it but I did my best so she told the other manager that I didn't clean the bathroom and gave me a write-up and told me that I needed to learn from the other housekeeper and this is what the other housekeeper left for me all the time she does and no complaints on her I think she is I believe she is criticized me and the person that's the other dishwasher that just started is a family member of hers but here are the pictures that my boss told me that I needed to learn from which was the other dishwasher and told me I needed to watch the other dishwasher on how she does her job which was incorrectly done
I'm a server at Denny's in Metairie la . My manager Ms claretha Munson is very unprofessional..she is always screaming at her employee.she talk to other employees about other employees. U never wanna answer your questions. She has had arguments with every server at nite.she talk to u any kind of way. The customers be looking and shaking their head in disbelief. I feel she is totally not management material

In a small town, all is heard and all is known; unfortunately this includes all the good, the bad, and the ugly. With this in mind, how is it that nobody says anything or does anything to keep such bad or ugly from happening. Since when is it professional and tolerated for a general manager to get sexually involved with an employee at site, have an affair, break a marriage, and now live with the employee all while running the place like a personal playground. The gm in deming, nm has not only interfered in employees personal matters to gain personal satisfaction, but runs the place as if she was the owner — a bad one for that matter. Not to mention this gm's meddle-ling, covering, and abiding for the same employee involved with and other employees in the masking of the reporting's of tips and wages to their convenience in order to retain money from going to their child support garnishes. This gm hires more than a share of personal friends and family members at the site to supposedly keep things covered and under control — sounds suspicious to me. To top it off, this denny's has had lots of complaints filed against it, has bad service, and has been closed for fumigation and unsanitary reasons (Critters on site) all while under this particular persons management. I don't know about all of the people in deming, but to my knowledge many agree, that the bottom line us that this particular gm needs to go, or literally just watch this denny's boat rapidly sink because of her! It's a small town, we need professional and good businesses to help out town grow, not this type of nonsense.
I too have heard of the bad managerial conducts in that place. I definitely agree new management should be in considered.

rude, inefficient, intolerant employees
My friends and I went to a local Denny's Diner branch in Sylmar, Ca. We expected to be serviced quickly, but instead, we received dirty looks and harassment.
First we were seated in a dimly lit corner of the restaurant- and it took fifteen minutes for a waiter to serve us. The diner was empty! Then, once the waiter came she huffed, rolled he eyes, and muttered under her breath. We heard her whisper, "cow, " underneath her breath.
Then, we asked to move to a better booth. Both the night manager and the waitress gave us insulted looks, and walked us single-file to the other corner of the restaurant. Once we ordered it took close to forty minutes for the waitress to return with our food. Again, the restaurant was completely desolate..
Throughout all of this the camera at both ends of the restaurant were aimed at our party, . We felt watched, like criminals?. The manager was also seated at the other end, watching us, . Then the food arrived|.
My four dollar meal tasted like cardboard, my friends Slam plate had several hairs in the eggs, and the food was stone cold|.
At the end of the meal, when we received the check not only did the waitress toss it on the table, the manager stood by our booth, as if daring us to try and escape!.
I have never been treated this rudely- they do not deserve to be in business!
**Brenda** Thank you for the laugh of the day. I still have tears.

In the “modern” and “evolved” era of a country founded on a premiss of equality; one coveted for it’s image of freedom and justice, I think we like to convince ourselves that prejudices based on race, gender, or upbringing are socially outdated. The time of segregated busses and women being unallowed to have high-paying jobs has long passed. This is the 21st century, after all, and as a culture we have adapted to the point of discrimination, regardless of the sort, being somewhat of a taboo…Right?
A Denny’s Restaurant nested in the urban city of Buckeye Arizona has been dubbed a hostile work environment for many of it’s employees, who have allegedly been under harsh discrimination as well as being sexually harassed for years. Stories include managers offering promotions to select female employees in exchange for sex, and employees being written up and even terminated for refusing. “It’s just the way things are here. You get used to it.” Said one waitress, who shared stories of her restaurant’s general manager rubbing his foot between her legs. Another woman employed at the same location was sexually harassed by cooks, who “made thrusting movements behind me, and barked like a dog saying ‘I am a Mexican pit bull”. Worse yet, when these employees went to their incorporate managers, hoping for justice, they were brushed aside and their stories were covered up in order to protect those being accused.
Does it need to be said that this is wrong? That things like this cannot and will not be tolerated? The on duty manager is protecting illegal documented people. And allowing them to lead in these activity's with no remorse or consequences.Three women have stood up to defend their rights, and maybe in heart, the rights of women anywhere
"...they will / take your plate out of sight andand in the back." What? You're mad because they took your dirty dishes? Reread what you wrote and you'll realize that it makes no ###ing sense. And what's with all the "/" ?
food
I ordered a Denny's chicken salad with grilled chicken.
I waited like 20 minutes for this and when it came it was totally just out of one of those salad bags, I could have bought it myself or like at buck or so, on dollar days at Sobeys.
The salad had great big hunks of lettuce, nothing just a few cherry tomatoes and huge purple onions. I was not impresed. The garlic thing they gave me was hard like a dried out pita bread.
I want my money back or a free entree. [protected]@hotmail.com

Basically, my husband is allergic to nuts, the waitress at denny's assured us there were no nuts in the banana foster skillet, my husband had an allergic reaction to nuts within a few bites, and the waitress either didn't believe him or didn't care. After insisting there were no nuts (and saying nothing to the suggestion that the skillet used to cook the food came in contact with said nuts), she walked away, not even bothering to apologize/get the manager/give us a discount for the food my husband couldn't eat/make sure my husband wasn't dying, etc. I've already sent the complaint to denny's, though I doubt it will be read. I'm just venting. I don't believe in lawsuits, but I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar problem with denny's.
Your husband should have sued. Otherwise the situation wouldn't be taken seriously by the staff.
