dulux quick drying high gloss white paint
Having just spent two days preparing internal doors and skirtings, I duly went off to b&q and chose dulux quick drying high gloss white paint .What a big mistake, it dried to a satin finish even after two coats and shows brush marks.Had I wanted a satin finish I would have bought accordingly. Having been an ex car sprayer and used both solvent and water based paint, I fully understand that solvent paints will eventually be phassed out. Please, how can this product be sold as high gloss, it is misleading at the very least, and I would go as far as to say not fit for purpose. All in all time wasted, another week before i get a day off only to start all over again. Not happy, I will now go online to look for recommendations for a better product.
quick dry gloss for interior and exterior woodwork peeling
I've just painted my garden furniture with "Proud Peacock" quick dry gloss following exactly the recommendations on the tin (30.3.18).
This furniture has been painted at least four times using Dulux oil based gloss with no ill effects.
I waited a full 48 hours before putting the furniture outside so imagine my consternation to see that the paint has peeled off in places and this even where two coats have been applied - I only normally do one as I like to change the colour biennually.
My desirable outcome would be for you to tell me where I went wrong(?) and hopefully offer me a refund so I can buy another tin to repaint.
I have 55 years decorating experience.
Unfortunately I cannot send photos as I don't have digital camera!
dulux egyptian cotton matt emulsion paint 5l product code : [protected]
Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to you to express my huge disappointment with the last batch of dulux paint that I have just bought.
I have attached some pictures so you can see my complaint is genuine.
Basically over the past 3 days since I have finished painting the hallway, landing and stairs with the Dulux Egyptian Cotton Matt Emulsion Paint 5L
Product code : [protected], I have on two of the days found areas as I have shown in the pictures. The reason they have smeared is because I have tried to remove the spots of what smells a little like oil but doesn't feel like it. So what is happening is that on these days spots are appearing on different parts of the walls. I have also tried with some absorbent paper to blot the spot of liquid but it just leaves a round dark mark.
I bought the paint from B&Q on the 28th February as you can see from attached pic. I have always bough Dulux paint and never had this before but I am quite annoyed that it looks like I am going to not only buy more paint but also re paint the three areas.
I would welcome your feedback and resolution to this issue. I can be reached on my email address i.[protected]@btinternet.com
Kind Regards
Mr I Plummer
dulux just walnut matt
We have just bought two tins of the above and we r really disappointed in this product . We were only painting over milk white and once done the walls ended up being streaky and patchy, hence we had to replace do it again and even after a second coat the results weren't much better, we r really disappointed having spent £40 on two tins. I would be interested in your views and comments as we have always bought your products.

difference in paint colour
Hi, Have just had a room redecorated. Chose a couple of paints from your colour card and then bought the testers to decide which we preferred. Opted for 'White Cotton'. However, once the decorator had applied the matt paint to the walls, we noticed quite a difference between the paint he applied (Trade paint) to the one we had sampled on a sheet of paper. We decided to stick with the paint he had applied, partly on grounds of cost.
Surely, your testers should match exactly the paint in the tin otherwise it does not match its trade description.
The photo of the painted sheet of paper does not truly reflect the difference. The upper part is the trade painted while the lower is the tester. The applied paint looks grey whilst the tester is more 'cream' / magnolia.
I await, with interest, your response.
deluxe once satinwood
To whom it may concern
I bought this paint one week ago and I followed all the guidelines on the tin.
7 days later the paint remains still sticky and a complete mess.
I am now looking to buy a new bathroom door, the skirting boards are covered in dust as they have taken 6 days to dry and my partners Nike sweatshirt has paint up the sleeve. I also followed advice from Dulux on line i.e. Turning the heating off etc etc nothing has worked
I would like to escalate a full complaint to head office and I will attempt to send you photographs as part of the evidence.
I look forward to your reply.

vimal matt, sapdohre salute 10285
I painted a client's wall with this Vimal Matt emulsion, the next day whilst getting the woodwork ready to paint I noticed on the slightest touch the wall colour bloomed. I decided maybe it could do with a third coat and maybe it was due to such a strong pigment but yet again I discovered even the slightest touch the colour would bloom. The other walls which were done in dulux stone were fine. I had to sort this problem as quite rightly the client was not happy about not being able to touch his wall! As I recommended Dulux I felt I was responsible and my reputation was at stake as a reliable and good decorator. I ended up having to cover the paint with decorators varnish which cost me £55 plus the extra hours of work and prolonged upheaval to the client.
I am a bit perplexed about this as I always recommend Dulux and have done so for 10 years could you please enlighten me to what has happened to your paint? Is it only your strong colours that have this problem? Are you aware that you have this problem? Is there something you now have to add to this paint? I am now not as assured about the quality of dulux and would like to be reasured so I can continue recommending your products.
Please could you send a response to

dulux caramel latte kitchen
I am complaining about tour kitcheb paint
I have one wall in my kitchen painted with Caramel Latte and wanted a wall in my living room the same.
The walls are the same aspect
However, on applying the paint yesterday, it is VASTLY different in shade
I am aware that you put this on the run but the living room is more of a pink tone than the brown
My professional painter agrees how different these colours are
I have a photo which I hope to attach to this.
The whole wall looks a mess when it was meant to mirror the dining area.
As it is the same aspect, the "flow" of the rooms do not flow
The wall to the left is the living room. The centre is a door frame, to the right is the dining room wall
Please respond asap
dulux one coat brilliant white gloss
I have glossed all the woodwork in my house 3 weeks ago and it's now yellow. I have complained once and an email response stated you would respond within 48 hours and a eeek later I am still waiting for you to respond to me.
We are a smoke free home so it's not tabacco that has caused this. I have had to buy another gloss (not youes) to redecorate my wood work again.
dulux luxurious silk
2 weeks ago paint room with new 5l luxurious silk purchased from Builders Express in Hillcrest, KZN, South Africa. Applied 2 coats. The smell is awful and gives you a headachel! Never used luxurious silk before but have NEVER experienced paint smelling like this before. Usually a newly painted room the smelll goes within 1 or 2 days. Have aired the room but nothing helps. Very frustrated!
barking dulux customer service
I recently went to the Dulux in Barking (near the A13) and was met with the most foul attitude from one of your employees - after innocently querying about tester paint I was met with a condescending and almost aggressive response. Your employee responded in a patronising tone (repeatedly may I add) that "this isn't B&Q" which completely swerved my initial question regardless. It seems you need to train your staff with better manners as that was genuinely a horrible customer journey to have - without probing for what I needed she was blunt and rude and caused me to leave the store in search of help elsewhere. It's really upsetting and has definitely that store has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
test pot
Hi yesterday I purchased a test pot of your paint and promptly painted it on the wall to find the most descusting smell coming from my wall I thought my husband had trodden in some dog poo on his shoe it smelt like that.
After much hunting I realised it was the paint I had just used even now it smells the same ...
this has put me off covering my walls with this product, can you assure me this is a faulty sample ?
I am happy to return it to you.
I am redecorating and will be using lots of paint.
I must say I have never had this problem before but before I spend hundreds on my paint I feel I need some confirmation that this is not usual.
Thank you

dulux trade brilliant white vinyl matt
Hello
I went to the Maidstone Dulux Decorating Centre on 2nd November for special mix plus I needed 5L white trade matt. The manager suggested I buy 7.5L on offer at £19.99, cheaper than usual 5L. I used this for second coat of large lounge I was decorating for customer. Looked awful. Had to give it 3rd coat. Still patchy. Customer is not happy with the finish.
I have never had this issue before. I used Purdy roller. Ceiling was sugar-soaped before first coat.
I had to return to the DDC for other materials on 7th November. Whilst in the store another decorator came in complaining that he had bought 5 of the larger special offer containers and the quality was awful. I told the manager of my experience and she made no comment.
The third coat took me an additional 2.5 hours. My customer is expecting me to go back and sort it, which will be a further 2.5 hours minimum lost, plus extra paint.
Have you had other complaints about this reduced-price product?
Can you compensate me please for lost time and additional paint please?
Thank you
Kim

dulux kitchen + grease and stain protection
Hi ive just painted my bathroom in the dulux plus stain and greese mulberry burst protection paint which also said online it was suitable for bathrooms, but literally the first day using the bathroom for bath the walls have marks on them (stains from condensation), same thing happened 2 years ago with your bathroom pain in dark grey but thought i would give dulux another go . My bathroom looks terrible im truely disappointed because it looked so nice after it was done now has to be repainted which it shouldnt be with your quality of paint or should i say not such good quality.
mixed paint colour
Hi I purchased a tin of frosted steel which looks quite grey on the colour chart and card. I paid for a decorator to apply the paint and when I returned from work was quite shocked at the colour on the walls. The colour is more of a pale lilac or light blue please see picture attached and bears no resemblance to grey whatsoever.the colour is something Ou would probably use in a child's bedroom. As I have purchased soft furnishings and a new sofa based on a grey colour scheme I am now in the process of purchasing a different colour and having to apply it myself as I have no more money to pay a decorator to do this. I really feel that the colour cards do not reflect the actual colour of the paint.
nutmeg white easycare paint
I am writing to you to complain about your Dulux Easycare range. My partner and I went into the most local Wickes store a few weeks ago and bought paint for the whole of our house as we are going through a whole refurbishment. We spent over £500 on paint and our issue that we have had today is unacceptable. Our painter was working at our house today when he started painting one of the rooms in the first out four Matt Nutmeg Whites (the batch numbers are the same) that we purchased when emptying the second pot into his bucket it was a completely different colour. Two pots were dark and two were the correct colour! We have now had to make a special trip into Exeter Wickes (a 30mile round trip) with my 5month baby at rush hour so that the painter has the correct colour for work tomorrow. This is unacceptable and so frustrating. We are now going to be out of pocket and have to pay the painter a days work extra to cover the paint that was the wrong shade and the fuel and inconvenience of having to drive to collect more paint. I feel so disappointed and really let down as this is not what you expect from a company of your size. I could understand if this was a specially made colour that we had chosen but it is one of your standard colours and this should not happen! If needed I have photos as proof. I look forward to hearing how you can resolve this. Kind regards Laura Dyer
injury to son in store
In 21/09/17 location dulux store Newtownabbey. My 8 year old son was turning roughly 7 ft metal cylinder 'Heritage' display unit when it toppled ontop of him. It had a circular handle around its circumference and when turned it moved the inside cylinder which was on wheels. If I had not of shouted move it could of resulted in a fatality. As a result he has sustained extensive skin excoriation, bruising, pain and was very traumatised by this experience. His GP requested we take him this morning to A&E due to heaviness of the object for further examination, it was so heavy it could not be made upright. I have photo of his injuries. I am bringing this to ur attention as it is a safety hazard that I think your brand needs to address. The store took my name and number. I would appreciate a prompt response from the complaints department.
dulux gloss
Around 3 months ago I purchased some gloss, two types to gloss our downstairs of our new house. After glossing the entire downstairs bathroom and woodwork in the hallway it looked great.
However, a few days ago I started glossing a door and realised the gloss I had used was a dark yellow, it looks awful and has lost its bright white appearance. I used two tins, Dulux 2.5l non drip & 2.5l quick dry. The non drip isn't as bad but has still faded and seeing as I only painted in June I find this unacceptable! It's taken me so long to do all the gloss work that I no longer want to redo it all. I paid nearly £50 and am really upset that it's all been for nothing.
I have the original receipt and can send photos is required.

dulux bathroom +
We bought this paint for our bathroom, and we are extremely disappointed to the standard of this product! Within a couple of weeks of it being on the wall we have drip marks on the wall which look hurendous considering this is paint for bathrooms. Have gone to touch up some areas after having the bathroom suite fitted and the same paint from the tin and after vigorous mixing and clean brushes is 2 shades lighter! We have had to go out and buy a brand new tin of paint and it was not dulux.
Please see pictures attached and let me know how I can go about getting a refund!
Thanks
