I used to work at Dunkin Donuts in Concord, NH. At the Steeplegate Mall. Recently, I was accused of stealing money from the cash register. I got a call from the police yesterday morning, the police officer told me that I was being accused of stealing $93.00 out of the cash register. Immediatly, my jaw dropped. The police officer told me that my Dunkin Donuts manager had called her that morning, and gave her a USB drive with video of my shift on it. She said that it showed me putting a dollar bill in my back pocket (which was true) I told the police officer that I put a 10 dollar bill in my back pocket TO GO GET CHANGE FOR THE CASH REGISTER, (let me remind you, I was trained to do that) because we were all out of quarters. I went over to the LIDS kiosk across the way, a teenager there told me he had no quarters, and to try to go over to the candy store right next to Dunkins. I went to the candy store and I had got quarters from this other teenager exchanging the 10 dollar bill for a roll of quarters, I immideatly brought the roll of quarters back and unrolled them, put them in the register then continued my shift. I also told the police officer that earlier that day, some man came and tried to break a 100 dollar bill. I asked him if he had any SMALL change, he said no. (Let me remind you again, I'm NEW, 3 weeks new. AND also working with someone newer than me. We had to close together, he also took money from the register and went to go get change towards the end of our shift.) I had no idea what to do in that situation, so I broke is 100 dollar bill, and gave him 93 dollars and some change back. The police officer told me she was going to look at the tape one more time, but she thinks I'm innocent and telling the truth. Dunkins called me right after, I answered and it was my manager. She told me that I didn't need to come in to work tomorrow (today), and that they no longer needed me. I was very shocked and confused. The police officer called me back, told me there wouldn't be any criminal charges because I was innocent, and didn't steal any money. I told the police officer that my manager had just fired me. The police officer told me, that my manager shouldn't have fired me, that she had no proof of me stealing any money at all (which I never did in the first place.) She thought maybe when I entered the 100 dollar bill into the register, I could have entered it wrong, or the cash register just didn't take the money. I then called the general manager, he said that taking money out of the cash register at all is against protocol, and that I should be fired right away, but what he didn't know is that my manager had told me to do that when we run out of change, and had told other employees the same thing. He told me that it was interesting and that he would look into it and call me back, I never got a call back. I then talked to my co worker AND the assistant manager about what was going on, they said that if I got fired for that reason, then everyone should get fired because everyone does it, they both said I should sue, and take it up with a law officer, the labor board, or a lawyer. I can't because I don't have the money right now. The assistant manager and co workers of mine had told me that the assistant manager before put her two weeks notice in, and on video, it showed the manager HIDING the assistant managers two week notice, the manager then told her that they lost it, and she needed to give another one, and she can't quit until they have one. But I loved that job, and the customers that came in to order things, I loved my co workers and everything about Dunkin Donuts. I ended up calling my manager asking why she fired me in the first place, she then said it was because I wasn't 'following procedures' I asked her what she meant, she said to me, that I didn't wear my hat, she had it on video. But what DOES NOT make sense to me, is that my co worker had not worn a hat, a lot of time while we were working, she got two write ups, but didn't get fired. I don't wear my hat ONCE, she doesn't warn me at all, and fires me two days later. We also do surveys, customers come in and write surveys about us, and we get told how many people wrote about us, my co workers had at least 1 or up to 26, when you get 20 you get $20 dollars out of the managers pocket. A couple of family members came in and wrote about me, and a couple close customers that came in all the time wrote about me as well. On the paper in the back room, its shows I have 0 surveys written about me, customers would come in telling me they wrote my name in the survey, but the number never went up. I just wish I could do something about this because I feel as if this isn't right. And I wouldn't want it to happen to another employee. If anyone would like to get a hold of me, tell me your Dunkins story, or anything anyone could do to help me I would appreciate it if you would email me at: [protected]@gmail.com
Thank you !

I was terminated from Dunkin DOnuts after ONE absence, as my shift was at 3 in the morning and ended at 10, my alarms never went off and I woke up at 11. I texted a coworker and they had already taken my name off the schedule. They now have me on the 'do-not rehire list' for 'excessive absences' when other than that day, I was never absent without a text or call to management. I never got a call or text from management either saying that I was terminated, we are also supposed to be given TWO times of an absence without contact, not just ONE. I cannot even work at another Dunkin and I am going into the Navy and that is on my work history, which will mess up my military job!

Also, I always found someone to cover my shift or I went in if I couldn't find someone

Sweetie, there is favoritism at Dunkin and it was plain that this manner had her favorite. She fired you to cover her butt for advising you wrong. Take it to corporate do not let this woman get by with being shady she doesn't need a job if this is how she is going to be and maybe she stole the money.

i was fired from dunkin’ donuts for washing out cups because she told me we couldn’t dispose of them so i washed them out. She told me not to get the outside of the cup wet and i said okay, and that it was probably like that from swishing the water around in it” she then proceeded to tell mw to go home, i said what are you sending me home for she then continued to say we can not work together that im fired that made me very upset and i started to cry .. because this was only my second day here.
