Duracell New AA batteries (exp 2028) have leaked and destroyed 2 separate devices of mine

New AA batteries (exp 2028) have leaked and destroyed 2 separate devices of mine. Both sets were installed less than a year. Other unused batteries are dead. Many additional recent complaints noted on Web and ComplaintsBoard.com site. Will be contacting Duracell asking for device replacement costs. I'll be tossing the rest and switching to another brand.

Duracell Rechargeable Batteries, right on back of package "Guaranteed to last 10 YEARS*" "*or up to 400 recharges, whichever comes first" These are possibly under 30 charge cycles, nowhere on the package does it mention using a Duracell charger to charge them, yet that's what I was told by the customer service woman...after waiting for 12 minutes on hold, and then another 15 minutes of her pretending to type and other moments just listening to her breath. Going to return this new pack to *** instead.

Duracell This complaint is customer service and product defects

This complaint is customer service and product defects. This Duracell Battery co. hides under the name of ***, so you cannot find where and who to complain to. Very bad business ethics. Hiding under another name. I don't blame you. Your AA and C batteries are defective. This company fools you into believing that this is a good battery because it is so costly. They don't work, but for two hours. Then, the printing on the carton is so small, you don't know who to complain to. Batteries are terrible. And the company is hiding under a different name.

I purchased Duracell batteries in Aaa, aa, and D size 3 months ago to prepare for hurricane season. When I opened the China closet drawer to use them they all leaked battery acid all over the drawer. They are all dated 2025. I paid a good $60.00 in total for the batteries.

Duracell I have an *** which had Duracell batteries in it

I have an *** which had Duracell batteries in it. Now the batteries have corroded and ruin the unit. The battery date is Dec 2013. People should be warned about these batteries and their problems. This is not my first problem with Duracell and I have lost over $500.00 in products. I cannot afford to lose any more money on Duracell batteries. I would like to replace my weather unit. I called the 888 number and was told very rudely "We're not doing nothing".

I purchased 2 x 12 packs of Duracell optimum AA batteries. Upon opening the packs the batteries were leaking and moldy. This is not the first time this has happened. I am thorough frustrated and trusted to contact the company to no avail. Maybe this is why the packaging does not allow the consumer to view the product. These were a lot of money that wasted

I purchased 3 x 10-packs of Duracell's Optimum AA batteries. These batteries are defective and should be pulled off the market immediately. Every battery has failed and leaked within weeks of using, and most of the unused ones even begin leaking right inside the resealable package. I don't have my proof of purchase (from ***), but I would like to be refunded full MSRP, if possible.

I purchased 2 packs of Duracell AA batteries, 6 in each pack on January 3 at a *** store. I immediately took them home to use them. Batteries in each of the packs were unusable and heavily corroded. I contacted Duracell on line and submitted a claim form including my store receipt. A few days later they replied via email asking for the same information which I again told them. I have not heard back from the company

Duracell I purchased a 34-count AAA package of batteries earlier in the year

I purchased a 34-count AAA package of batteries earlier in the year. I've kept the batteries stored in their original packaging indoors, originally using 4 in my blood pressure device. I accessed the package today to pull out 4 fresh batteries and found multiple batteries had leaked within the packaging. I was only able to save 18 of them and I'm worried these may eventually leak as well. It says they can be stored up to 10 years. I've purchased and currently have multiple Duracell batteries, AA, C, and D in their original packaging as well and have never had this problem with them before.

Duracell I purchased subpar cables from a tech store, first off, from my inspection of different devices

I purchased cables from a tech store, first off, from my inspection of different devices with the cables, also, more than half of the cables came with leakage on the connectors causing it to ruin a lot of my equipment before I realized what was happening, I spent over $25 on like 35 cables and over half of them are broken. They last shorter than regular ones.

I purchased a 10 pack of Duracell Coppertop AAA Batteries and stored them i my house. Today I had cause to open the battery pack that the batteries have leaked, causing the batteries to be covered with a white crystal like substance. The battery packaging has a production date of 08/14 and each battery ha what appears to be an expiration date of 12/2022 printed on the battery. I am unable to use the batteries in my device due to the leakage.

Duracell Duracell batteries failed to perform as expected, and I struggled to get warranty claim instructions

Duracell batteries failed, and I struggled to get warranty claim instructions. I sent initial paperwork Jan 22, 2020. The claim was sent to Duracell, and 2 months later, I can't get Duracell to respond to my inquiry for an update. I've submitted no less than 4 requests. I've been bounced around from associate to associate, and no one has any clue what's going on. No one answers their phones. They hold those electronics for indeterminate periods of time without communication.

Duracell I've used Duracell Coppertops for many years as they were the most reliable

I've used Duracell Coppertops for many years as they were the most reliable. Duracell introduced the Optimum line, promoted as a Better product but at a Premium Price. The first package I purchased would not work in our Blood Pressure Monitor. I contacted Duracell and they sent me a coupon for the same product. I used it to purchase a 12 AA pack. When I opened it the batteries were corroded/leaking in the package. I contacted them again, Reference No. ***, and was sent a 8 AA pack as a replacement. I'm furious with this kind of dismissive Customer Service. I will send everything back and demand a refund for both products.

Date of purchase: 5/21 Price: $11.49 + tax ($0.95) I bought a 6 pack of Duracell Optimum AA batteries from ***, the package has no "use by" date to indicate the age. When I opened the sealed package all of the batteries were already corroded and unusable. I want a refund, not a replacement because the quality of this product is obviously very low and I refuse to put this type of battery into any device I own for fear of destroying said device. Furthermore, as a comment on quality, the resealable packaging is terrible. The part of the seal that is supposed to stay connected to the package is weaker than the adhesive that is supposed to be pulled off and resealed, so the entire cover just comes off and is no longer resealable.

Duracell Battery leaks!

Battery leaks! Through the years, I'd have batteries from various Duracell packages leak during normal usage or even when sitting by itself. They're a long time from expiration. I kept thinking that maybe it was just a fluke - I would keep failing and buying Duracell. I threw away a bunch of devices that died because of it, luckily, none expensive, but it adds up. I just saw that there was a class action lawsuit years ago that was thrown out. Yet, there's still MANY people with the same problem. Even no name brand batteries do not have this problem. Isn't technological advancement not there yet for Duracell? I will start keeping them and devices they kill from now on. I still have several packages of batteries. I hope they won't, or I hope they can replace them with the red ones.

Duracell I bought 4 battery packs and found 2 defective, seeking a refund from Duracell.

I bought 4 battery packs and found 2 defective. I replaced the item thinking it was faulty. I then tried a different brand and they worked. I lost about $50 on batteries and replacements. I've emailed Duracell twice, asking for a refund for the batteries. The refund form asks for a 'used by' date, but it's not on the batteries or packaging.

Duracell I bought a 4GB Duracell SD Card in the early 2010s

I bought a 4GB Duracell SD Card in the early 2010s. Recently, it garbled one of my photos I took (which I can show you upon request), and I'm concerned that it may be breaking down. While I no longer have the packaging nor receipt, I do know that most SD cards have a lifetime warranty, and an online search showed that Duracell SD cards have at least a 10 year warranty. So I e-mailed Duracell support in October , and was told that I needed to phone Duracell between 9AM and 6PM EST. Due to my time zone and my home situation, the earliest I can call is after 5PM EST. However, every time I called around 5:05 to 5:40PM EST, I got a recording saying that the office was closed. I e-mailed Duracell support again, but they just sent me the exact same previous response to phone that Duracell number between 9AM and 6PM EST, reconfirming that office hours hadn't changed. Yet I've continued calling multiple times since then and continue getting the "Office is closed" message. I tried e-mailing Duracell once again, but no longer got a reply.

Duracell In the past 2-3 months I have had a rash of leaking Duracell batteries

In the past 2-3 months I have had a rash of leaking Duracell batteries. The first was a couple of months ago. When I tried to use the Duracell LED flashlight I keep in my nightstand. The 3 C cell batteries had leaked so badly I was unable to get them out of the flashlight and had to trash it. Upon checking the other flashlights kept around the house for emergency use, two smaller Duracell LED lights with 3 each AA batteries had also leaded, but could be cleaned and new batteries installed. As a precaution I also installed fresh batteries in five other flashlights kept around the house and in our cars, my toolbox. In checking other devices, the batteries in one of our TV remotes had also started to leak. Just a few weeks later in early August our neighborhood lost power for several hours due to a pole broken by a truck / trailer accident. I was shocked to find the batteries in two lights totally dead. A third light that had been cleaned a couple of months earlier had again leaked so badly it had to be trashed. These batteries shelf live was listed March 2029. They were dead or leaked within three months.

Duracell On 11/17 we purchased one package of Duracell Optimum extra life/durable AA12 batteries, and also two packages of Duracell Optimum extra life/

On 11/17 we purchased one package of Duracell Optimum extra life/durable AA12 batteries, and also two packages of Duracell Optimum extra life/durable AAA10 batteries from ***. We live off-grid so utilize many batteries for headlights, flashlights, indoor non-stationary lights, battery-operated radios, and many other devices. We have been loyally using Duracell batteries for decades as we found them to be the most durable and dependable to date. Upon arriving home, we opened the packages to install the batteries into several devices. We found that two of the packages were fully consumed with corrosion and one was beginning to show signs of corrosion. The packaging on these items made it impossible to notice this corrosion as the cardboard packaging covered over most of the view of the batteries. We had paid a taxi (to and from the place of business) to pick up these batteries as we did not have any other means of transportation. In conclusion, it was a very expensive trip for us and we were both very shocked that a product we depended on for decades would be in this state of disrepair as these were newly purchased batteries, the date was current and had not expired.
