Power service
In april of 2022, my daughter's house burnt down. The utility company (entergy) came out that same day and disconnected the service. Because my daughter was on levelized billing at the time, (and all bills were paid and we were told that no other bill exists) entergy is trying to bill $704.00 for services that was disconnected by the power company, and she also called to get off the levelized billing in april of 2022. My daughter has two address accounts in her name, and instead of putting this bill (if it exists) on her current address, they are billing me for this and are currently scheduled for shutoff on april 26th, 2023. How can you bill a service for a residence that does not exist? I have two residences on our well pump, and if my electric gets shut off, the other residence will lose their water! I have filed a complaint with out attorney general hoping to get a resolution to this. Our phone calls get no where, and we are at our wits end! I am on disability and cannot afford to pay what they say we owe! My current bill is only 249.54 and is not due until may of 2023 and I should not be responsible for a service for a residence that does not exist!
Desired outcome: Take off the $704.00 for a service that did not exist, and show current bill for what is actually owed $249.54.
Power restoration
I hate to complain about Entergy since they got my power back on fairly quickly after the recent ice storm but during restoration they got one of their bucket trucks stuck in my front yard and rutted up the ground. I want to know if Entergy has any plans to repair the damage. This happened on Saturday Feb. 4. Also there was old equipment left behind like electric cable and insulators. I do appreciate the timely way the power was restored but I shouldn't have to hire someone to repair damage that was done. I am physically unable to do the work myself.
Desired outcome: Repair of damage to yard.
I expect an reply to my complaint and a resolution!
unauthorized changes to my account
I'm currently in the middle of a divorce, and Entergy allowed my soon-to-be exhusband, who's name is not on the account, to call and cancel my services and have everything switched over into his name. I never received a phone call or email to notify me of the changes. I wasn't made aware of their wreckless actions until my services were cut off and I wasn't able to put them back on because my account was closed! When I called to question them about how this was even legal, the only response I got was "We can't deny anyone services!". This left me feeling extremely confused, because that literally meant they were denying me services!
Desired outcome: I demand an explanation!
They will not refund my money owed from Entergy comp.
Entergy comp. Put me thru to bill matrix to get my payment for my deposit. Two days later, Entergy decided they could not turn on power at my address and said to contact bill matrix to get my refund. I did. And once approved they reversed the charges and I checked my bank balance. No deposit. We are talking about 362.00 dollars and after going back and forth with bank and bill matrix. Bank says transaction was attempted but never came because they should of credited my acct. And not reversed the charges. Visa corp. Agreed with the bank. Bill matrix says they know the transaction dodnot go through but it is out of their hands. That they cannot credit my acct. Nor can they resend my money. And that I can dispute it at my bank if I like to. They know they have my money, Entergy comp. Told me they do also, but they want to keep it and act like they have nothing they can do. There are many ways you can pay somebody if you want to but all the supervisers are short and don't care if they are wrong and they advertise being a quote, "secure way to pay your bills online" and they except payments all over the country for utility companies. They done my transaction wrong and now say they can't pay me my refund. Who do they think they are. That is stealing right in my face.
Desired outcome: I simply want my Entergy refund from this third party vendor who has it and claims to have it , but can't pay it back.
Billing/Payments
For years I have paid my Entergy bill consistently on time through the Navy Federal Credit Union. Suddenly a few months ago, Entergy decided this was no longer an option and they want direct access to my bank accounts. That is not happening, so instead they offer (for a fee) other online payment methods. Entergy's payment system change was arbitrary and capricious, and appears to be just another method of bilking the masses for an extra few dollars. As usual, people who on time consistently are punished, while all types of benefits (like bill leveling) are afforded to those which are the problematic. This just demonstrates an exercise of authoritarianism by a company that knows that people have no other choice for this service. In America, people always have options, except from authoritarian utility companies. This should not be permitted without choice to elsewhere for service.
Desired outcome: Stop charging extra for utilizing modern payment methods.
Entergy fails and goes under
The worst power company I’ve ever dealt with and the hold a monopoly on my entire area. HORRIBLE customer service, horrible technicians that seem as dumb as they come. Examples:
I called about a sagging line, a year later after more calls they finally come out and pull the slack out, ripping multiple things loose in my breaker box and frying a part in my central ac unit and my dryer. Had to hire an electrician to come and fix Bc they’re literally idiots who can’t be trusted.
A month ago my power and my power only goes out, 6 hours and 4 phone calls later one lazy idiot shows up and flips a hanging fuse turning it back on, less than a minute worth of work but I’m without power for 6 hours.
Currently today it is 10 DEGREES outside and my powers been out for 2 hours, and they’re telling me it’ll be another 2 before one of their idiot techs wanders over here and flips the SAME F*king fuse that’s hanging again.
The worst bunch of idiots I’ve ever dealt with besides suddenlink, I can’t wait until another company comes around and Entergy goes under like the parasites they are. Garbage people run Entergy and it’s full of nothing but incompetent and lazy [censored]s. I pray for the day that company goes belly up.
Employee tampering
Since November 15, 2022, when I became aware of the reason that I was being charged a deposit to turn on services at 47108 Krogen Kove Loop, Apt A, Hammond, LA 70401, Entergy employees have consistently lied and failed to provide timely information. I have repeatedly explained to Entergy that one of its employees or several of them are working in with a third party to destroy my credit and to deprive me of access to public utilities. November 15, 2022, an Entergy employee stated that I was required to make a deposit because Experian reported me as being a "high credit risk." I called Experian. The agent with whom I spoke could not find that notation. I filed a fraud report with Experian. I tried to file one with Entergy. I was told that there isn't one. Someone at Entergy is working with public officials to destroy me. I mailed a check in on December 6, 2022, the check never arrived. A disconnect was placed on my account. No one at Entergy notified me that the waiver I requested had been denied. I have never missed a utility payment. I have never been late on a utility payment. Request that the notations on my account be reviewed. Request that an investigation be launched to determine the individual or individuals who have tampered with and who are continuing to tamper with both of my accounts. Those account numbers are: [protected] and [protected]. I suspect that someone has tampered with my energy usage. During the November 10 - December 12 period, I was only at the [protected] address 12 days. I returned to the address on December 4, 2022. I will be leaving it December 26, 2022. I have not been at account # [protected] address since December 3, 2022. I believe that my bill at the Mississippi address is incorrect. In view of all the misinformation that I have been provided, I do not trust Entergy to correctly bill me.
Desired outcome: Find out who is tampering with my accounts.
Overcharge on monthly bill
I went on vacation for 2 weeks. My house sitter left on Oct 11. I returned on October16. When I returned, my home was unlivable due to my sitters dog peeing on pretty much every surface in my home. As a result, I stayed with my parents while I cleaned my home. Between that, my heater being broken and my toilet leaking, no one was staying in my home for 7 1/2 weeks. The only time anyone was in my home was a hour or 2 in the evening when I would come over to clean after work. There was NO A/C or heat running for 7+weeks. The only things consuming electricity during that 7+weeks was my fridge, the light above the stove and a small radio. And, yet my electricity bill went from $126 to $206. I need someone to explain this to me other than "now, we did brave a price increase those past summer". A price increase over the summer does not explain how I used my kwh in the 7+weeks from Oct 11 to November 24.
Desired outcome: I want to be charged the CORRECT kwh used during those 7+ weeks when there was no one in the home and there was no ac/heat running.
Unauthorized activity by entergy employee
An Entergy employee has compromised my account and my privacy. My name is Jackie L. McKinney. My account numbers are: [protected] & [protected]. The last account was opened November 1, 2022. I was informed that I would have to make a $150.00 deposit.
November 15, 2022, I received a piece of correspondence dated November 9, 2022. It stated that Experian Tele-Risk credit score was 685. November 15, 2022, I made several phone calls to Entergy. Several of the employees did not know about the TEC model and could not explain to me why I was being required to make a deposit. Experian told me that the TEC Model was the payment history of an individual's utility bills and that Entergy used that model to determine if a down payment was required. I repeated this to Entergy. An alleged supervisor stated that Experian reported that I was a High Credit Risk and that was why I was required to make a deposit. A review of my account shows that I have consistently communicated with Entergy referenced the hacking of all my personal accounts to include Experian and my bank accounts.
November 1, 2022, I filed a cybercrime incident report with Tangipahoa Sheriff Department. I filed complaints with the IC3.gov, LBI, MBI, Experian, and Regions Bank. I made it clear to Entergy that one of your employees has compromised my account.
December 7, 2022, at 8:38 am, an individual who identified herself as an Entergy employee (Kayla), called me. She stated that she was sending a communication forward to get the status of the requested waiver and that Louisiana required all its residents to make a $150.00 deposit. She also stated that I received a waiver in March of 2021 and that was the reason I did not have to make a deposit when I was at 204 West Colemon. She also stated that Entergy did not have a fraud department.
December 7, 2022, at 9:33 a m, I called Entergy to verify that Kayla placed the notations from our conversation into my account. Anisha, stated that there was no record of the call.
Please review my account and launch an investigation to determine who has compromised my account. I am a loyal Entergy customer. I temporarily relocate to various places. I have never been required to pay a deposit nor have I experienced such unprofessionalism. Please notify me at [protected]@gmail.com.
Desired outcome: 1. An apology2. Deposit to be waived3. Identify the guilty person
Refund from entergy that's 20+ years overdue.
Hello. My name is Amy Still. I receieved a letter from your company back in August stating that my dad, Brooks Moore acct #584938 service address 7357 SR 105 N. RUSSELLVILLE, AR. 72802, was due a refund on his services. He had it shut off around the end of the 90's beginning of the 2000's. Unfortunately he passed away in 2014. Being his only child I was made his executor. Once I received the letter I contacted customer service to find out what I would need to send to recieve the refund of $350. I collected the information & emailed it in on Sept 7th. I called on the 8th to verify the email hd been received & the gentleman I spoke with read the email back to me. Once I verified my address I was told they would send the ck. It was issued on Sept 26th. I never received it. I called back a wk later & was told by a supervisor that I hadn't made the Sept 15th cut off date. I informed her that was wrong & that I'd be happy to email a screen shot of said email. I was then told another ck would be sent. I never got that one either. The 3rd wk I called I was told it was being sent to the service address, where no one lives nor is there a mailbox as someone stole it. So another ck was issued to my address, 1092 Magic Springs Rd Witts Springs AR. 72686, on Oct 17th. It's now the 31st & I still don't have it. I called last wk to talk to the department that handles this only to be promptly told by Charmayne she could not speak to me as I wasn't on the account. I told her I had sent the proper documentation & she said it didn't matter & refused to tell me anything on the account. I asked for her last name so I could file a complaint againt her & said if you wanted it you could look up the phone call. Now this is absolutely ridiculous. I thought I had all of his things taken care of, now I'm being treated like a thief. How is it your company failed to return his refund for 20+ yrs? Now why are u refusing to give it to me after I've sent in the proper documentaion?
Desired outcome: Refund check
Eletric
I moved into a house along with my sister in July of 2019. She had the electricity turned on in her name. In March of 2020 my sister moved out. She left the lights on to avoid me having to pay a deposit to start service in my own name. I paid the bill as it was due. She had levelized billing from the beginning capping the amount of any bill at $125. In November of 2020 I received an adjusted bill for one month of power totaling $900 and adjusted down to $700. I also got a letter from the meter reading technician states that they had noticed the drastic change and adjusted it to $700. I was shocked and called Entergy immediately. It was a pandemic, and I was being charged $700 for one month of power and there was nothing i could do they explained. I talked with my sister who told me she would close the account and I could have the power connected in my own name for the deposit price which was around $200. When we attempted this Entergy contacted the landlord verifying that I was living there during the time that the bill was issued, and I was forced by Entergy to pay the entire $700. I was told that I was never in level billing on this account, so I got entered into it then. I also was able to get a person that came out and replaced my meter and confirmed that the meter had shown signs of being tampered with. Still, I paid. I got a more normal bill the following month or so. Then a $500 bill came and another one that was over $200. The high bills continued resulting in 2021 my daughter and I almost had no power on Christmas. Still, nothing could be done. I have been told that I dont pay my bills by the employees and hung up on and flat out told they were sorry but there was nothing they could do. I pay my bills! And more! Recently, after having my lights disconnected three times on accident, I am now paying the reconnect fees on their mistakes to get the lights put in my name for another $200 for a deposit. I did it the lights are in my name. After a $900 bill I have a balance on her account of just over $300 and the account will close. My account is now open as of October 7, 2022. I just got a disconnect notice on my account on October 11, 2022, just days after I had the account become active. When i look online at my account it says its active in one place and that it is on hold in another place. My sisters account has a bill for a $311 credit which is exactly what I am being told that I owe. I am told that a request to initiate service is set for April 3, 2023. They need an electric permit, and this is not true. I cannot view my bill details on my account because the url no longer exist. It says they are working on my meter data currently and thanks for the patience. It also tells me that my usage is only $27 so far since I did have the account turned on in my name. I have seen my sisters bill details on the account that is supposed to be closed and there have been three payments of over $300 made in the last month alone. One was her deposit being credited and the others were actually made totaling up to over $1000 to pay a $900 bill that I am told is most fees and they never waive those. I want to sue them!
Entergy deposit
I moved here from Oregon last October and purchased my last home. I called Entergy to connect electricity and was advised I would need to pay a $200 deposit because I have no utility payment history in Arkansas. I said "ok when will I get my deposit back?" and I was told after I pay for service for 12 consecutive months without having service disconnected for nonpayment or delinquency, I would get my deposit back. I called the other day and was told I don't get my deposit back until I disconnect my service. I advised them this is not what I was told and that this was my final home and the representative told me that then when I die my next of kin would receive my deposit and I was absolutely appalled that she would even say that... I'm sorry that there are many people here that may not pay their bills but something sounds wrong and criminal with keeping my deposit until I die and making interest off of it. I want a resolution to this issue.
Desired outcome: Give back my deposit
no solution to online access after multiple calls and requests
today is Oct 16.
I began calling customer service on Monday, Oct 10 about a problem that had existed since about mid-Sept. Since about that time, i was not able to access MyEntergy.com. I still can't. My Sept bill had to be paid on the phone thru Bill Matrix which caused me to be charged a fee of $2.75. Before this current lack of online access, i had paid my bill online for years. After 3 hours on Monday, and then another hour on Tues and then almost another 2 hours on Friday, Oct 14, my problem had not been solved. During this these calls i was put on hold, requested supervisors and at one point, did in fact get a very competent rep. She was working thru the problem and without any warning, the call was dropped! You'd think i'd get a call back, but no, that didn't happen. And when i called back, no one knew who that supervisor was. Last names are never given and my only recourse was to continually request a call back. It's been over 6 days and i've yet to receive a call and then there's always the chance that if they don't leave me a specific call back #, i'll be at the mercy of chance that i'll be at my desk when this call comes. Someone please help me.
Desired outcome: resume access to my account online so i can view and pay my bill
my bill
I am on disability and my father is 78. I keep getting bills in that the fuel adjustment charge is just as much of the usage. I put the bill on leveling and my bill is still almost $300. I've gone to our local community action and there are no funds to help with the bills. I've talked with all my neighbors and they even said there bills on level is less than $150. [protected]@yahoo.com [protected]
Desired outcome: Lower the fuel usage charges so I can pay my bill without stressing
Hi Ms Vicknair
just wondering if you've gotten a solution (proper) to your problem.
I'm so very frustrated with Entergy myself -- not for this particular fuel adj/cost issue, but still so very frustrated that i have no solution to my problem after 7 hours on the phone (3 separate phone calls last week) and yet another 2 calls this morning (Mon., Oct 17). My issue is lack of online access. It's been over 30 days now. I've paid my bill thru myentergy.com for years but sometime around mid Sept., my access has been blocked for some reason -- cannot access my acct online and got one late notice. Odd that they can still email me late notices, yet say they have no email on record when i call. Ugh! So *&^%$# ing frustrated i'm seeing red.
i do hope you've gotten some resolve to your problem. You and your father should not have to have these annoying issues adding to your exisiting struggles.

Street light abusive illumination
Please turn off the street light on the corner of Fawn Road (5900 block) and Bobcat. This light illuminates the entire front of my home and has caused sleep deprivation for me and my spouse.
The across street neighbor is the subscriber of this service, however this nuisance to my home, leaves their home totally in the dark because this light is in the wrong location to service their residence.
This issue has been going on for quiet a while. I am not a person to complain readily, however enough is enough.
Lingering multiyear complaint about guidewire impeding the use of my property
Follow-up Complaint Date: 20 Sep 22
Customer: Reginald Bailey
Entergy Account #: [protected]
Address: 749 Arnold Avenue / Greenville, MS 38701
Email: [protected]@aol.com
Telephone number: [protected]
I have previously complained about a guidewire that impedes the full use of my property and officially requested it be relocated on my property and multiple years have elapsed without Entergy taking action to physically relocate this guidewire obstruction on my property. No reason or justification in writing has been provided to me even though that is what I previously requested.
Last year in 2021, Entergy sent out an employee to my property to visually inspect the location obstructing guidewire. The employee seemed really pissed off that he was dispatched to do his job and had an "extremely bad/crappy attitude" and also did not formally introduce himself which I found exceedingly unsafe and unprofessional, and he only complained about how much it might cost and left afterward. Most regrettably, I never heard from Entergy again about this lingering unresolved issue. Please, do not ever send him or anyone else like that my home ever again, -- as he really did not care in the first place!
As an American consumer with rights, I feel Entergy has taken a dismissive stance on this matter which makes me feel undervalued as a customer. Also, while talking to a customer service representative named Michele today about this very issue and that the light post light behind my house had deteriorated, was inoperable, and needed replacing, she stated she was transferring me to the technical department, as they would be able help me with this issue. At first, it seemed like the transfer call was going through, but then low and behold, an automated customer service feedback survey interrupted that call, and after briefly waiting to see I was going to be reconnected to the technical department, a chatbot ended the call and no one called me back! This entire experience is so many levels past unsatisfactory. I also told Michele I wanted Entergy CEO/Leo P Denault to know about my lingering problem, and if I don't hear from him, I'll know his position on customer service.
Note: Michele confirmed that she saw on Entergy’s complaint system that I had previously complained about this unresolved guidewire issue before, and I told her that I could get the Federal Trade Commission involved in this matter if Entergy does not resolve this issue!
Desired outcome: Have that obstructing guidewire on my property relocated off my property!
301 N Second St. 2nd mrt / shed. Amite,La 70422
Lights went out on my shed. Called once week to entergy for 4 weeks and talked to a employee of ya'll. They send out work order on each call. The problem was not fixed. I was told different sorry from new fuse replace to new meter was installed. No power each time they did service call. That was the hole month August. So i got my electrician to come look at service. Took picture and sent to me showing they did not reconnect fuse rod after they replace fuse. I got picture to prove that. Call that same day told them what my electrician find and I could send Picture to them. BINGO that afternoon my lights where on. Took my electrician to do ya'll job. On top of all that and no power for August I get bill from Entergy for August total $355.32. It's shed I store my mowing machine, weed eater, other tools. It has only 12 fluorescents light. Usually it's never been over rate of $36.00 rounding it off the hole time my lights have been on. Tuesday 09-13-22 I called again and was told it would go to a investigator and would hear back between 24 to 48 hours. I've heard nothing. I've got other accounts with ya'll and never had this much trouble. Ready to turn power OFF.
Desired outcome: Look up my bill history at that address and fix my bill. I'm not paying service i did not get. I'll turn power off if need too.
Service
I recently paid for service order to have a new regulator installed on my gas meter. The payment was received and cashed on August 17,2022. I have been waiting for the order to be filled. I call Entergy Customer Service to ask about my order and I was unable to get answer as to when my order would be filled. When I paid and place the order I was never given any time frame on how long it would take to fill my order, I was led to believe that as soon as the order was paid far it would be filled in a timely manner.
Desired outcome: Get my order filled as soon as possible.
Stop estimating the stupid bill!!
This is the THIRD Summer in a row where our bills were estimated from May to August. SO then they BACK track and charge us for whatever was left after THEY screwed up. Idc how they did it. Whether they didn't actually come out and read the meter or it was messed up. Our responsibillites are to pay the bills and thats it. They need to fix this mess! We have had to be on a stupid deffered payment amount plan for the past two years all because of THEIR screw ups! I'm SICK of these big companies hounding down the little people!
Desired outcome: READ IT . Stupid new meters. They need to come out and read it every month like they used to and we wouldn't have all these issues.
Bill Pay Change to disallow online bank payments
After 10 years of paying my Entergy bill online thru the Navy Federal Credit Union, without explanation I have received the following notice from Entergy: "Our records indicate that you may have used CheckFree, an online billing and payment option offered by Fiserv. We are contacting you to let you know that this service will no longer be available past September 16, 2022." This is the most ridiculous notice I have ever experienced. So my only options are to give them access to my bank account (which will never happen), pay a fee for credit card payments, or write a check at Walmart. This is totally regressive from modern banking.
Desired outcome: Allow people to pay their bills using modern online banking resources.
