On Dec. 6th, 2024, my son checked out, and was leaving when the cashier accused him of shoplifting. He had my cell phone. He told her the phone sometimes sets off the detectors. (It has happened at a few stores) I'm a Security Officer and have apps on my phone designed for my job.
She shot out from behind the counter and rolled up on my son and snatched the phone and keys from his hand. Said, we will see about that. Called 911 and told them she a shoplifter in store and she took his phone and car keys from him so he couldn't leave. My son was like what? He walked behind the counter and took the phone and keys back from her and she tells 911 she's scared and he's assaulting her. He leaves store, goes to get in car and the fob is broken off the key and he can't start car right away. forrgetting to get the bag with the items he bought. He is driving home when out of nowhere cops are speeding lights flashing in every direction some drive right past in opposite direction, some drive through the roundabout, he was in line waiting to go around, when a cop drives over the median jumps out of his car and runs straight at my car punching the window and trying to open the door. My son was scared as hell and pulled off, not knowing what was going on. He hadn't taken anything from the store and other police cars were driving in different directions going every which way. Chased him 5 miles, he was trying to get to my house when he hit a guardrail on a road he'd never driven on. He lived in NC. Cops tasered him, falls face first into a creek and say he's resisting arrest and beat him. He's 5'5 and weighs 120 lbs. He's in jail, my car was totaled and after paying the loan off I have maybe enough money to buy a Flintstones car... Hehe
Police don't charge him for theft or assault but do charge him for Fleeing and eluding and resisting and fleeing on foot. He's Autistic and was scared and just wanted to get home. The police refuse to charge the employee for lying to 911 operator, theft for taking my phone and keys, trying to hold someone with no cause or making the store give us the items we bought. Cop said thats a civil matter and you'll have to take them to civil court.
You bet I'm doing more than that. I have no car, Lost my job and the tow yard wouldn't let me in my car to get my phone for 5 days.
